GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, do think it's a winner:

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

SOMETHING BETTER

Consider for a moment all the valuable achievements which have come about because someone wasn't satisfied with the way things were. Throughout history, great leaps forward have been made by people who were seeking something better.

Time after time, something wasn't working as well as it could have, there were problems, shortcomings, issues that needed addressing, and someone addressed them. Someone saw what was wrong, envisioned something better, and then made it happen.

What we think of as progress is really a continuing positive response to dissatisfaction and frustration with the way things are. When things are not perfect, there is always a way to make them better.

Any time you experience frustration or dissatisfaction, see it as a clear signal to take a positive step toward something better. Your frustration is telling you there's a better way, and challenging you to make it real.

Life is filled with frustrations and because of them, it can continue getting better. When you feel strongly that there has to be a better way, there is. And you have the opportunity to find it.

I am back from visiting the wild west, midwest and other points of interest! We went as far as Devil's Tower in Wyoming, saw the Badlands, Deadwood/Lead, Mt Rushmore and took a tour of Wind Cave. We visited relatives in Iowa, and Chicago, and attended a wedding near St. Louis.

Eating was not very SB oriented...yet my suit seemed to fit fine for the wedding after over two weeks of white flour and potatoes... Unfortunately, when I got home last night, I found one of my adult kids decided to fiddle with the scale and changed it. Now I have NO idea whether I have gained, stayed the same, or lost! (dream on! LOL)

Hope everyone is doing well. I will be trying to catch up by reading last weeks posts, as long as my computer will let me. It keeps shutting down IE on me...

Hey All:wave:

Will post a nice long post later on today sometime, just have quite a bit of things to get done today, and with just getting myself back out of bed once again, I just have the time to do it before I have to pick up the kids, so you'll just all have to wait until later to hear all the juicy details of the last few days, at least from my end;)

I cannot vote on this weeks poll from the website once again, so I'm sure other's can't as well. If you'd like to get in your vote just e-mail me with your choice of answers this week and I can get it on there manually. Debelli@AOL.COM

Welcome back Monet!
Your vacation sounds like a success, relaxation and visitation wise. Hope the temps were as seasonal up there (cool) as they are here in TX. It has been HOT!

Missy: Good luck with the room decorating. I remember the days of teaching in LA without the money that we have here in TX. It was the same in AR, too. People have no idea how much of our little bitty pay check we put back into our students. Maybe they do, and they know we'll do it anyway, so why pay us more? I did hear someone on a talk show once say that because education in a service and not a profit-making venture, we won't ever be paid comparible to corporate America. Just proves that we are in it as a calling, not a job.

The scales are bouncing again. A weird TOM this time, so maybe that change of life is beginning to stir. Was 160 on Sat. and am up to 163 today. I could not satisfy my appitite yesterday and when the family decided to have breakfast for supper, I made WW biscuits. Ate 3 of them! They weren't huge, got 5 little ones out of half the recipe, so I didn't totally wack out. But I had already eaten some Triscuits earlier in the day and I haven't had 4 servings of starchy carbs since I started this WOE. I think my mind needed the biscuits and today I'm okay with that craving for something.

Deb: I'm anxiously awaiting the report of your weekend with the JXville two. I know you had a blast.

Daramus: I hit your goal on Saturday!

BOB: Hope your mom is continuing her recovery. And I wish we could get some of your rain. Oh, the summer has hit here in NTX. This time of year, we look longingly at the blue, blue sky and wonder where all the clouds went. And wish for a nice low pressure system in the Gulf!

Will check in later this evening to see how the weekend treated you. We're headed east to visit GPs tomorrow so DS can have a time with them before he heads back to the Yard. I will be gone for the rest of the week.

Take care,
Jeanie

Yummy!!!!! Missing Debbie, Eli and the children - did not want to come home!!!!

I am craving cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, mint and feta cheese with fabulous fresh whole wheat pita bread :)

I cannot wait to read everyone's posts and see what I have missed out on!!!

I got back to Auburn late last night, so I'm dragging a bit today. Miss Belle was so glad to see me, she has been in my lap all morning. It is really sweet to have a sweet little kitten to wlecome you home!

OK still OP--even traveling all day yesterday. But the bad news is that I gained 20 lbs from May through July--UGH! How in the world could I let that happen?????? It's killing me to think about having to re-lose this 20 pounds again--but it kills me more to think about gaining even more back. The worst part is that I've been stricly OP for almost two weeks--so who knows how high it was!

If anyone needs a motivational thought for the day--it's this--losing is better than gaining!!!!!!!!

Talk to you soon, I've got a mountain of mail to go through and work--oh yes--must earn some money this week!

My adrenaline must still be running high from the wonderful time Tranquil and I had with Deb and family over the weekend. I am not feeling tired at all, even though I've had little sleep. We had so much fun and so many good laughs. We kept cracking up on our way back to Jax very early this morning as we talked about the many great moments we shared. We just fell in love with Deb, Eli, Michael and Lauren. They are a great family and we were missing them the minute we left their driveway last night. I can't wait to write more about them later, however, I have many errands to run and don't have enough time to tell all right now.

First stop is the cell phone store as mine dropped in a cup on soda on the way home and is now dead. That happened during one of the many laughing episodes we were having in the car. Think I might also go shopping for a wig today as I kinda got attached to one at Deb's house that belonged to her son, Michael. That is a story that I'm sure will be told by one of the partners in crime.

Anyway, it is great to be back on the board as I feel like I've been away a month and have missed keeping in touch with you all.

BOB, we missed you and didn't take home all of your coffee. We left you a bag or two.:D

Hi all. Ive been AWOL for a couple of months. Just been busy busy busy. Just got back from a 2 week vacation. Went to Dallas to play golf with my nephew and new wife. Then on to Iowa and Minnesota to vist relatives I havent seen in 34 years. From there went into Canada(Thunderbay) to play some golf. The weather was so nice. Mid 60's. From there began the trip home. Michigan,Indiana,Illinois,Tennessee,Kentucky, then to Hot Springs Village Arkansas where we met up with friends for 2 days of golf, then finally home to Texas. Thru all that I managed to gain only 1 lb.

Now its back to SB and exercise. Will try to be more regular on this board.

Take care -

Monday...it is a holiday here today..New Brunswick Day. We went to the car races for the first time. It was quite an experience..made me feel like a real redneck! This track has pro-stock car but this one Enduro...the old beat up ones with the fantastic crashes in them. It was fun and the kids thought it was great. Eating has been bad today .....

Glad to see you back MONET!

Hey All:wave:

The events of this past weekend has only strengthened my knowing that we have the greatest group of people on this board! What a fabulous weekend I had with TRANQUIL & SERENE!

We had such a great time together this weekend and I wanted to share my account of these past few days of us being able to spend our all-too-short time together.

The gals arrived in the wee hours of Friday morning at a bit after 2am. Though it was way past my witching hour, it was good that they came in then instead of leaving Friday morning at a normal hour and coming in later Friday. Once they arrived and we sat down and chatted for a bit it was after 3am before we hit the bed. I think I was so excited to have them there as it took me until around 5am to fall asleep! The gals slept in the family room, one of the blow-up bed, the other on the futon mattress we pulled out of the 4th bedroom.

Friday morning none of us felt like getting up, but I had to to get the kids to school, so of course, I was up early. The gals got up, had their coffee, showers and a bite to eat and we headed up to Broward for the day. We hit 2 HFS'S before going to lunch at OLE OLE. We hit Sawgrass Mills Mall and spent the remainder of our evening there. Only went through a 1/4 of the mall, so they have something to do when they come back. Got home to have a wonderful dinner prepared by ELI (what a guy.)

Shortly after, the kids came home from being with their Dad and they got to meet SERENE & TRANQUIL. Michael played some of his video's he's done for this captive audience. THEN he brought out his vast array of wigs he uses when doing these videos and the fun began!!!! SERENE & TRANQUIL started donning the wigs and then got me in to it as well. I was laughing so hard at times that I was crying!! There's lots of pictures of this hysterical event to be shared. Well, THEN, I dare SERENE to wear the wig out of the house to garage sales the next day and TRANQUIL double dares her. SERENE says she doesn't take dares lightly and we'll see in the morning. Off to bed I go, way past my bed time, while the kids stay and chat with the two night owls.

Saturday morning I got those two up and out in record time, at least for them. I forewarned them that I was going to get them going early that day. True to her word, SERENE donned the wig. Mind you, this wig looks like a massive afro, but with a twist. Just think of CRUSTY THE CLOWN'S WIFE with a brown wig and there you have SERENE. We go to a garage sale around the block and out she stumbles, wig & a pair of funky glasses, like it was nothing. TRANQUIL & I are just dying! She had that on for a little while, but it was getting mighty hot and I can only imagine her brains were going to start to fry! Hit some G sales and found not all too much, but it was still a good morning. Then we hit the ME place to pick up some pita that we reserved, went out to lunch at a Cuban restaurant that I've been going to for 25-26 years but hadn't been to in a few years which I believe we all enjoyed then headed back home to shower before heading out once again to Dadeland Mall so TRANQUIL could get her SEPHORA fix. We hit a few more stores before they started to close the mall. With ELI & LAUREN in tow, we hit SHORTY'S BBQ for dinner which I do believe the gals enjoyed as well, then headed home for the evening. Once home we watched the BB show we had taped while we were out for the evening. Once again, being a party pooper, I headed to bed and I think the kids stayed up with the night owls.

Sunday morning we had had plans to go to the indoor flea market and then the gals would leave from there, but as things change, so did the plans. The JAX 2-SOME didn't want to leave!!!! That was just fine with me!!!! I was having a blast with them and didn't want them to leave either, so we changed our plans and spend a full day out shopping at another outlet mall, then hitting JCPenney's for some bargains and discounts, off to BIG LOTS then a request for late lunch/early dinner to the Cuban restaurant once again, then to Starbucks to get some coffee so they could drive home awake and then we headed on home.

It was time to pack up their car, and pack it up they did! It was filled!!!! By the time they left it was close to 9pm, I believe, a long day followed by a long night of driving back home for those two. We said our good-byes and as they drove off into the night I once again reminded myself of what a wonderful time I had this past weekend and what wonderful women they both truly are.

SERENE & TRANQUIL are wonderful! As always, when I've had the chance to meet other from the board, it's been such a wonderful experience and meeting these two was right up there!! I am envious that they live so close to each other and I'm all alone down here:( We had so much in common I found myself saying "me too" a lot. They are truly a lot of fun to be with and I can't even being to tell you just how much we laughed together all weekend. Not only are they funny, they are sweet, sincere and all the good qualities you'd love having in friends. They came bearing such wonderful goodies like a basket of fruit (I think they thought the DD wouldn't have any food) some wonderful smelling Yankee Candles (how did they know? They almost died when they saw my tart drawer!), some chick peas (hmmm, wonder what they had in mind for those) and then, at the mall, the sneaky two-some bought me a Verbena candle from La' Occitane that I've always loved but was too cheap to ever purchase for myself. When we got home, I was presented with this wonderfully thoughtful gift. They went way overboard and no words could truly express how they made me feel with such genorosity.

What can I say? I hope you all have the opportunity to meet them both, as well as others on the board-we truly have such a great group of women (and you too DARAMUS)! We are ready to plan another weekend together soon!!!!

SERENE & TRANQUIL, if I left anything out, please fill in the gaps, I think my brain is still sleeping a bit!!!!

ELI'S Starbucks officially opened this morning. He's done quite well for not having a grand opening yet (Friday night it's going to happen) and he's been busy just with new customers driving through. I'm hoping he'll be home soon, he woke up at 3:45am this morning:eek:

No walking here today-was raining this morning. Glad it waited to rain til after the girls left, but alas, we didn't even have time to get in any exercise while they were here and with today not doing it either, I'm way behind in my miles. I may take it easy this week anyhow, it's just so hot down here it's making my walks not enjoyable at all, even with leaving early.

Well, I've got to skiddadle for now. I'll try to check in later this evening, otherwise tomorrow morning.

Hope all is well with everyone! Wish you could of been with us this past weekend:D

I'm BACK!!!! It's late and I am one tired, worn-out puppy. It was an eight-hour drive each way. And most through the hills of WV and MD. Whew, I'm really ready for the bed. Suffice it to say, the weekend was WONDERFUL, AWESOME, PERFECT, SWEET, FUNNY, FUN AND BASICALLY OUTSTANDING. Can you tell I had a great time??? And I'm happy to report that I DID NOT cheat!!! There was plenty of candy making the circulation and also other goodies, but I just passed. I really wanted to try and make sure I could resist during a very special occasion like this. There were a couple of moments when I looked at the chocolate, but that's all I did.

I'll share more later. I did manage to find a bottle of Agave DARK for 2.75 for 8 oz. I thought that was pretty good. The regular was 4.75. Whew! Too expensive. It's a different company too. So I have to find it and I'll give you all that info tomorrow.

Good night, my friends.

Wow, it sure is quiet around here! Is everyone on vacation or something?

I tried very hard to get back on program yesterday. I did very well, though it was hard to pass up the snacks. I over did it on starchy carbs, and had four pieces of ww bread, but that was not too bad considering!

My crazy daughter had a friend spend the night last night. I went down this morning and found they had set the tent up in the den to sleep in!

SERENE, TRANQUIL and DEB: Sounds like you all had a great time together! Why not make your next road trip up here to Atlanta? I have plenty of room! You can hang out by the pool, and I will cook dinner. :)

GRACIOUS: Did you enjoy the car racing? I think I would be up tight, and worried that someone was going to get hurt! I have a friend who's son drives mini stock cars in races. I would be a basket case!

SEF: I took a ton of pictures! I just need to load them from the camera to the computer. It is going to take a LONG time! LOL

FILLISE: I am sure it was depressing to find you had gained that weight, but at least you are back on track now. It could have been worse! I am sure I gained on vacation... but thanks to my new son in law, I have no idea if it is five, or 15! Hop back on the wagon, and lets ride together!

J RED: This was the first real vacation we have taken in many years. My daughter's favorite part was staying in Sturgis, SD, where they were preparing for the huge annual biker rally! It is this week, and there were plenty of Harleys already there a week ago!

CAT: Where were you in Iowa and Minn? I was there too! My husband's aunt lives near Waterloo, and we drove from Albert Lea, out I90 to SD. Sounds like you got in a little golf on your vacation! :) You did great to only gain a pound! I know I gained more...five at least. I probably would have done better if I had not had a teenager munching on junk in the backseat. Don't you think? ;)

QUILT: Where did you go on your trip? Sounds like you did great! I wish I had found some agave on my trip! I did look..but not hard!

TUESDAY MORNING

Hi! Just wanted to check in this morning. I know it's not WIW, but I did jump on the scales today since I had been gone for four days. Guess what???? I lost FOUR POUNDS since last Wednesday. I can't believe it! I was OP the whole time, plus it was so hot and humid that we sweat buckets. Perhaps we should all sit outside for hours in high humidity and see how much of an increase we notice on the scales. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the official WIW shows this same number.

Have a great day everybody!

I'm back!!! OLA!! ( I learned alot of spanish)LOL

Boy did miss you guys. We had a wonderful time in the Dominican Republic. Language was a big barrier. Need to brush up on my spanish before I go back. It was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. Americans were difinetaly the minoirty though. So many Europeans. Found it it was a topless beach. DH loved that. LOL. Alot of them had no business doing it either. 90% of the men wore speedos. Same for them too! Time was just too short. Two of the 4 days are spent inthe airport. It is the best feeling though to return to the good ole' USA. Did great on my eating. I think. You couldn't tell what was in the food or how is was prepared and they couldn't tell you. I never ate sweets or anything else I wasn't supposed to. The drinks were a different story. Mucho pina coladas!!!!

The best thing was how many times I was so thankful for SB. When I had to walk around w/o a cover-up, when I went to get out of the pool and didn't have to lift 82 more pounds. When we went to the fitness center to workout. I just kept thinking over and over how glad I did this. I am amazed how in-tune to my body I am. You coulldn't drink the water there even though they had jugs of water you could drink, it still tasted funny and ice was something unheard of. So I didn't drink near enough water and I can tell it by my body. Everything is puffy. Fruit was everything we couldn';t have. I ate a lot of pineapple only because it was all was there I like. I figured it was fruit, how bad could it be. Plus it was always in the pina coladas. LOL I was up 4 pounds today. I hope alot of it is water. I am tickled to death that I started right back OP today without a flinch. That is amazing in itself.

Got a lot of posts to catch up on. If anything happened that I missed and need to know. Please let me know.

Got a lot of work to do here today and tomorrow. Hope to be back later.

Hello all--it is a slow week on the board. I guess folks are busy getting their kids ready to go back to school, or off on one last blast before fall.

This morning I had my first little panic that I'm behind on my Christmas shopping already. uh-oh.

Monet--I hope it's only five!:^: Even less than that! At any rate I'll jump on the wagon with you! Tell your SIL to keep his mitts off your scale!

Deb--It sounds like you had a great weekend with the Jax folks. I've only been to Miami once, but really enjoyed it. Someday I'd like to get down there again.

BOB, Gator, and Missy--Freshman two-a-days started yesterday. We've got a good freshman class but still no clear quarterback. I'm pretty sure that one of my seatmates on the plane to Atlanta Sunday was a bama freshman. I tried to think I ways I could trip him going down the jetway.:s:

BOB--I hope your mom is on the mend. When does she have the second procedure? I'm thinking about having Lasik on my eyes right after the Novermber election. I'm ready to ditch the contacts and glasses.

OK--most of you know of my eternal search for the perfect face cream. You know that I have been a fan of Dr. Perricone's Wrinkle Cure. He was on the Today show talking about his anti-wrinkle diet which is essentially Sugar Busters! So I urge all of you to try to check his new book (The Perricone Plan) out of your library for yet another reason for sticking to this WOE. He will also (naturally) sell you lots of cremes and stuff, but they are expensive (85-95 bucks a pop). I was about to break down and order some when I did a search on the web and found another company that makes a face creme with the same ingredients for about $23.00 (you can even find it for less). The company is Reviva and the creme is the Vitamin C-ester, DMAE, Alpha-Lipoic Acid face creme (these are all the magic ingredients that Dr. Perricone recommends). You can also find it at health food stores. ANYWAY--I've been using it for about a week and it really does seem to be tightening the loose skin under my neck. So those of you who are worried about loose skins (especially as those double chins diminish) you might want to give this a try!

Incidentially, I'm two years older than my SIL--but when I was visiting them at the beach last week one of my niece's friends commented on how cool aunt Susu is (oh yeah) and how much younger she was than my SIL. Heh heh heh.

Have a good day everyone!

MONET: Sure! Blame the poor teenager! Like they don't have enough on their shoulders!

JACKK: Glad you had such a wonderful time.

FILLISE: I saw the Today show too and thought he's just given another name to SB! Interesting.

Hi All:

Stopping a moment to post.....sorry that I cannot really post to everyone, but I am going to try this evening if I get a moment....

Jack-K - So glad to hear that you had a wonderful vacation, and that you felt so good about yourself - it made it even more wonderful!!!!

Monet - Sounds like a terrific invitation to me! I would love to come up and meet you - and run around to the natural food stores in your area! Plus, from the past postings about your baking and cooking - hahaha - I would love to stay at your house and eat and eat and eat!!! of course, SB legal only ;) It is good to see you back on the board again and more active - you were missed with your having been so quiet.....

As for the vacation - Deb did a great report! Thank you for the kind words as well - but I have to add this.... Deb is such a wonderful hostess, her house was immaculate and neat, not to forget that it is really NICE!!! Her and Eli went so far out of their way to make us comfortable and to please us - they were so wonderful!!!! Eli is a fantastic cook! I am drooling thinking of the meal he made us and the salad! The children - well that is something I have got to brag about!!!! They were fantastic kids! Well mannered, bright, loving, such great personalities - and along with the fact that they are gorgeous!!! - I wanted to take them home with me !!!! Meeting her in person made me even more driven now to get fitter and healthier - so I will be able to keep up with her and walk with her in the mornings.... This time I would rather fly - so those 6 hours of driving are better spent! Thanks again Debbie!

Well I better run now - I have to get my tush in gear to the gym - I plan on making up for the lack of exercise these past two weeks - get on track!

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!! Sabrina

Just trying to catch up on posts.

Fruit, Have fun getting your room ready. Purple and yellow, right?

Monet, Sounds like you had a lovely vacation. You need to put some yellow caution tape around that scale. Hope you can figure it out.

Jred, WW biscuits. Yum. I miss biscuits. Are they just as good. I'll have to make them. Recipe ont he board? Hope your wt goes back down. Probably hormones.

Tranquil, SErene & Deb. Sounds like you girls had a ball. You might be dangerous together. LOL. We want pics.

Fillise, I'm with you. There is nothing worse than re-losing the same weight. It's bad enough doing it once, but twice! Crazy. I'm also up about 4 lbs. but this was a special vacation so it was worth it. But right back OP today, no cheats. Got to drop 30 more by Nov. for my cruise. Let's take a saying from Emeril. "Let's kick it up a bit". Don't even mention the "C" word. It gets here soon enough. Surely you don't shop this early.

Catlover, Glad to hear from you again. Sounds like you had a nice vacation. Played alot of golf. That's great exercise. Keep in touch.

Sef, I think the urge to cheat gets easier as time goes by. I never even considered eating the sweets and other no-no's (other than the pina coladas.) But they were intentional. LOL I haven't found enything that tasted that good to make it worth it. (other than the pina coladas!)

Gracious, I never could get into car races. But I had to follow it some as my boss's son is Danny Sullivan who won the Indy 500 about 150-20 years ago. So I know a little about them.

Quilter, Great vacation. Congrats on not cheating. Pat yourself on the back. WTG on the 4 lbs. YEAH for you!!!!

Lizery, Glad you are back. I always say you have to do what works for you. If WW is it, then go for it and good luck. 9.5 is a great loss. You've got a agood start.

Dixie, Welcome, this is a great place. I have never done Atkins, but all the others. This has been the best for me. I started Oct, 2001 and have lost 82 pounds to date with 30 more to go. This has really been a WOE and a lifestyle change for me. It is something I can do for the rest of my life w/o becoming a problem. Good luck.

Hope to make it to chat tonite. Don't know for sure. May be in bed by then. Can hardly keep my eyes open now.

Hey All:wave:

Finally, I'm able to get on here and post! I wanted to this morning but had major computer troubles. I couldn't even shut the computer off!! I had to wait til the battry died and then I got back on. Of course, I lost everything I had typed up when it froze on me-NOT a happy camper to say the least.

Going to make this a short one since I expect ELI to be home shortly and I haven't done a darned thing all day, didn't even step out of the house. Was tired and took advantage of having the day to myself and slept on and off all day long (lazy bum, I know). TOM arrived late last night and it's like it just drained me. Needless to say, I am NOT stepping on the scale any time soon. I didn't walk today, or yesterday and boy, do I feel like a Macy's Day Parade Blimp!

Thought I'd found a modem for the other computer-NOT! THey have one on sale at Circuit City, but they don't have any, not a single store, not even on line-how can businesses do this? Pisses me off royally!

MONET, you are really trying to get me into that pool of yours! I think you should think about coming down to FL in January to root us on at the WDW Marathon. It's going to be a great weekend and I think you should think about joining us!!!

QUILTER, glad you had a great weekend in more ways than one-4lbs, my goodness you never cease to amaze me! CONGRATS!!!!

JACKK, sounds like you too had a good time away from home-glad to hear you're back safe and sound!!

FILLISE, glad to have you back at home. Did Miss Belle go with you or did someone take care of her while you were gone. We'll get in touch somewhere along the way soon on the telly!

SEF, hopefully, one day soon, I'll be able to report my time with you-I know it will happen, just not sure when!!!!

TRANQUIL, immaculate house??????? Girl, I know you are blind!! Thanks for the kind words, you know how I loved having you here as well and look forward to your next trip down here! You were the perfect house guests!

I see the board is slow this week, guessing it's because many of the kids are headed back to school. Mine are still in summer school til next Tuesday, then they don't go back til August 26th-not sure what they'll do for the next 2 weeks. I was thinking about going to NC with them, but I really don't want to drive all by myself up there and also, I have orientation at the kids school that I really should be at since I'm head of volunteers and should be able to snag some new parent volunteers at the event.

I'll try to check in later pending no more computer trouble. It's chat night tonight, though I'm not sure if anyone is planning on showing up since the board has been slow-will try to check the room and see if anyone is in there at 9:15pm EST.

Tomorrow is WIW and I wish everyone luck. As I mentioned before, I won't be stepping on the scale-it would be a scary sight, I'm sure.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

MAN!!! GETTING THESE CHILDREN READY FOR SCHOOL IS A KILLER....ALL NINE OF THEM START THE SAME DAY!!!

SUSAN...August is my CHRISTMAS SHOPPING month...I'm already thinking that this year will be quite slim...I just can't find any extra money!
My Mom goes on Friday for the rest of the procedure. Then we get to start this all over again :)
My guys are out there knocking each other around. I'm hoping that they are at the indoor field..This heat is a killer. Sitting at #5 at the beginning is just fine with me...Those teams above have to do the prooving!

JACKIE...glad you had a good time. Don't worry about what you ate or drank....you're right back in the wagon and it's rolling along ok...not tipping too bad on your side!

I've got to go and catch Skeeter...it's bath time and he doesn't know it yet! :s:

Hello, Everybody! I will try to get in a decent post this evening. I ducked out of work early today, because I was just so sleepy. Came home and crashed for a couple of hours. So that’s two hours I’ve made up from the many I missed during the weekend.

I won’t go into all the details of the reunion weekend with my friends, but give you a little bit of info. We had a blast. I cannot remember a time when I laughed more for such a consistent amount of time. We went to a little town called Berkeley Springs, WV. It’s built around some natural springs that are wonderfully soothing. We all scheduled “baths & massaged” for Sunday morning. What an experience! You had your choice of a Victorian Relaxing Bath or a Roman Bath. I took the Roman Bath and it was glorious. I had this really big pool-type room all to myself to float around in and relax and let the heat of the room and the water and the peace heal me. WONDERFUL!!! Then on to a 30-minute massage. They use olive oil and alcohol on your skin. The alcohol is to close your pores since you’ve been soaking and soggy like a prune. The olive oil is supposedly very good for your skin. I’m going to try it at night on my feet and put socks on to help with these hard as nails callous heels of mine. That was one of the highlights of the trip. But the fun and comeraderie of this group of women really worked like a vitamin for me. I think we all left the place as high as kites (in the non-chemical way, of course). If your path every crosses Berkeley Springs, treat yourself. The bath and massage was only $43 which I thought was a really reasonable price.

Here’s the info on the Agave Nectar Dark I found. The label says: Certified Organic - Cucamonga. It also says: Packed by WESTERN COMMERCE CORP. City of Industry, CA. I haven’t had a chance to search for it on the net. Has anybody heard of this company?

FRUIT---Hope you have a great time getting your room ready! How are you feeling after the car accident? How’s hubby doing?

MONET---Sounds like you all had a great time on your trip. You really put in some major miles. How was Mt. Rushmore? I’ve always wanted to do a trip up there. Did you see the Crazy Horse one they are carving? I heard it was much bigger than the presidents one. Good luck with your detox. You can do it!!!

DEB---Just to let you know . . . I am able to vote on the poll. I’m having no problems there. Thanks for the details about your wonderful weekend with S and T. Wow, what a fun, fun time you had. I don’t think I’m in good enough shape to catch up with that kind of mega-turbo shopping. You all are professionals at it. How much fun! I think it’s sweet that your kids are so cool that they wanted to stay up with the guests and have fun. They have your social nature!

JRED---Sure sounds like you are on the Hormone Rollercoaster. That nasty old TOM is making you way too hungry. I’m like you, I love those starchy carbs. At times they seem like my friend. LOL Hang in there. You are at a great place. Just on the cusp of the 150’s. Isn’t that great!!!! You’ll be there before you know it.

TRANQ---Sounds like ELI worked his Lebanese magic on you. I can’t wait to hear all the details.

FILLISE---Honey, I know right where you are. You know that I gained a ton (literally) of weight between October and May of this year. It can be depressing, that’s for sure. But you are really smart to stop the upward slide of the scale now before it gets any worse. Just start with today and take it one meal or one day at a time. You will get back where you want to be. Don’t let that goofy number of the scale make you crazy. Base your successes on how well you do each day. Each day that you are on program is a huge success. Let the scale be secondary. Thanks for the reminder that the december holidays are just around the corner. If I was as organized as you, I would be so happy.

SERENE---Glad to hear that you all enjoyed your time in Miami. How great that it all went well. I knew you two would fall in love with DEB and ELI. They are so great. Sorry to hear about your cell phone biting the dust. Bummer!

CAT---Welcome back! You know there will always be somebody here you know who will give you needed support. Glad to hear you had fun on your vacation. That was a long one!!!

SEF---Sure wish we could get one of your rain storms. We are still so dry here. DH didn’t water my deck plants while I was gone. Everything was drooping when I got home.

JACK-K---A topless beach!!! Wow!!! I’ll bet your DH was loving life there. That’s so funny. Girl, you should have gone with the group and “hung loose.” LOL Congrats on doing GREAT with your eating!!! Doesn’t that make you feel so empowered? I’m so PROUD of YOU!!! You’ll be happy come tomorrow morning when you jump on the one-eyed beast. Thanks for sharing how great it was for you there with your new skinnier body. The thought of walking around in a bathing suit with no cover-up is much more than I can comprehend. I’m so HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY for you about this. You are such an inspiration to me to keep going. Perhaps next year, I will be ready for a bathing suit. Something good to shoot for.

Well, girls, it’s time to close this. Elvis’ buddy Joe Esposito is on Larry King Live tonight and I’ve got to see that. Take care. Good luck tomorrow morning. I’ll be thinking about you all and wishing for big losses for all of us on the scales.

Good night!
Kim

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, the needle was a bit shakey this morning. But after stepping off and on, I will report that the four pounds stayed off today. I'm thinking that this loss will be a bit shakey for a while. It may take a few weeks for that number to be solid, but that's okay.

Hope you all have some good results!!! I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Morning All

Well, the metal monster has me at 169. At least I'm staying below 170.

Changed my avatar. The beach just seems to call to me.

Been having a few problems here. After waiting in all day Friday for a phone call from insurance, I got a letter yesterday saying they tried to get hold of me on Friday but couldn't. I called and left a message for someone to call yesterday--I was in all day and no one called. I figure the person who called twice and let the phone ring only 3 times was the insurance "trying" to get me. We got our furnace cleaned out early yesterday afternoon and when I decided to grab a shower at 4 there was no hot water. I figure the furnace guy somehow turned off the water heater. I had been painting all day and really needed a shower-- I was not a happy camper. I'm still not a happy camper--someone is supposed to come between 8 and noon today to look at the heater. They better show!

At least with all this muck going on, I've realized that I am NOT a stress eater. I'm more likely to not eat. So I guess that's a good thing.

DEB-I could vote no problem.

QUILTER--Cucamonga is the brand Rosalie and I used to get up here. (The HFS doesn't carry any agave now). I think Debbie told me once that the dark was older stock than the light. We were paying $4.79 or more (canadian $) for the 8 oz bottle.

GRACIOUS--In Ontario the August holiday is called Simcoe DAy.

Ok, I better go and get the munchkin some breakfast and then tidy what I can (can't wash up dishes with no hot water!!!--I'm too lazy to boil pots of it)

Hope everyone has a great WIW

Good Wednesday Morning:wave:

Dreary day here in SFLA, going to rain today. Hate when it's like this, well, except that it keeps the heat down a bit. After it being in the mid-90's I'll take the rain gladly if that means less than 90 degrees.

Not only can I not cook, but cleaning something isn't my forte either. Decided to wash the futon cover in the wash, figured just washing it and not drying it wouldn't shrink it - WRONG! It shrunk a few inches! I guess I should of gotten it dry cleaned, but nooo, I decided to wash it, well, there were no cleaning instructions and I sure as heck couldn't remember what fabric it was when I bought it years ago. I figured since it was in the family room already (from the past weekend) and the futon was flat, making it easier to remove and put back on that I'd wash it due to Michael having gotten not only chocolate, but raspberry stains on it, not to mention it was probably a bit dusty. Let's just say that it took me a few hours to try and stretch it so I could fit it on the futon mattress, sweating off a few ounces in the process no less. Finally got it on there, had Eli, Lauren and I lie on it in hopes it would help stretch out the fabric a bit. It's a lot better, though I would like another inch of stretching and hope in time it will happen. Next time, I guess I will just have to have it dry cleaned:shrug:

As mentioned, I am NOT going to get on the scale until next week. TOM has me bloated, and with not having exercised, it makes me feel like a whale. One thing I know I have to get back into doing is journaling. I find if I don't, even though I know what I am eating is totally OP, I just don't know how much I am actually eating and I think it does me much more harm than good if I don't journal, so today I'm back to doing that.

Sorry to have missed chat last night, Michael had a book report to do that kept him up well after midnight.

QUILTER, CONGRATS! Your official WIW report of 4 pounds down is awesome-you can't tell me that you aren't feeling the love!!!!! Wonderful, wonderful!!! Sounds like your weekend was loads of fun and laughs, much like ours, just on a bigger scale. You deserved this time away, you've earned it. The bottle of agave you bought is actually quite old, so do try to use it in a fairly short time if you can. WC is no longer doing agave and haven't packaged any in about 2 years from what I was told by Naturel, the Co. who was their supplier. Just don't want you to hold on to it for long as it's well over 2 years old, being that it's the dark, making it even older. Keep it out of the light and heat.

ZANNE, wish I could say the same about eating due to stress, I'm definitely one who does, though I wish I wasn't. If I didn't eat through the years due to stress and emotions I'd of surely died from being anorexic! No, my metabolism likes going in the opposite direction:shrug:

Well, I'm going to get going. I'm hoping to get a modem at this other place today, wish me luck. I'm ready to throw both computers into the dumpster if something doesn't give soon. Kids keep telling me to buy a new computer-if it was just that easy, give me a money tree and I'll be running to the nearest store. Until then, modem replacement will have to be the way to go.

Have a wonderful day!

I am with Deb...no scale for me today! Maybe next week, after I get all detoxed.

Yesterday was a struggle, but I resisted all the no nos, so I was happy.

QUILTER: Mt Rushmore is nice, but once you have seen it, you don't need to go again. We did see the Crazy Horse monument, it is very visible from the road. We wanted to go to the sight and spend a bit of time there, but ran out of time. At least we got to see it from the road. It is going to be pretty cool! I like that it can be seen for miles. Mt Rushmore is not like that at all...you almost have to go into the park to see it! There is so much to see and do in that area, I highly recommend you plan to visit it. Don't miss Wind Cave! It was one of the first National Parks, and you can take a tour of the cave that is a lot of fun. Especially in the summer! It was about 95 degrees there, but the cave is always 53 degrees! The boxwork in the cave is pretty impressive too.

DEB: What are the dates of the Jan. get together? Its in Orlando right? I will look into coming. My sister in law lives in Orlando, so I might be able to stay with her and her family.

I think I will take a nap! The alarm went off TOO early today!

Well vacation is over. I'm happy to report no gains. Still holding at 228 which I'm thrilled with considering the way we ate. We had a wonderful time but it's always too short.

On the way back, we met Gumbo (Robin) and her daughter for lunch in Mobile. She is delightful and her daughter is adorable. We talked like we had known each other for years.

Ahem, BOB, Fillise and Fruit, please take note of the polls. Texas is at #2. This is going to be our year. No quarterback controversy for the first time in several years. Hook 'em!!

Sorry everyone, just had to get a little smack talk out of my system.

Well, gotta run now, work is crazy trying to get caught up. Later guys.

Hi everyone!
Been busy but reading the posts and staying on plan. Well except for last Friday when I had pizza. Wasn't even good pizza. What a waste.
weighing in at 215 on the dot this AM.That's 10 pounds since 7/1.
It might no sound like a lot but I've been stuck between 225 & 235 for 2 years so I'm very happy!

Good morning everyone

Thought I would check in for WIW even tho I have no changes to report. Still trying to stay op but the pounds just don't want to come off. I'm trying hard not to gain any - I am going on vacation next week and can't afford to gain anything or my new pants won't fit. I haven't worked since last Tuesday but have been very busy and the time has just flown. Will be going on a dinner cruise on Saturday on Lake Ontario and hope they will have enough choices for me to stay op.

Zanne - I love your new avatar. Where do you find these things? I would love to change mine but haven't been able to find anything. Anything I have found has been too big. Hope you've got your hot water back on.

We were without cable for a while last week. Someone from the town was using a weed trimmer behind our fence and cut the cable. Luckily my son was able to patch it up temporarily until the guy was able to come and fix it otherwise we would have been without t.v and internet for 24 hours. My neighbour had his phone wires cut and was without a phone for the weekend. All the wires are above ground due to the construction that has been going on but they are supposed to be buried soon. They've just fixed up the road behind our house and I hope that is the end of the construction. In the past almost every year one of the cables would be cut. If the telephone company was doing any digging they would cut the cable. If it was the cable company doing any digging they always managed to cut the telephone line.

Deb - Sounds like you had a great get-together with Tranquil and Serene.

Hope you all have a good WIW.

Marie.

Good morning everyone!

I got on the scale this morning--still at 249. I am going to try to only weight once a week to see if I can not have my entire day ruined every morning if the needle doesn't move.

I've been back Op for two weeks now, so I feel like I'm getting back into the grove.

Trish--I have a good friend here who is a Texas fan--The fight song plays everytime she boots her computer. Hope ya'll have a good season--if UT were in the SEC then we'd have to gang up on you--but maybe one of us will get into a bowl and we'll get to do some serious trash talking!

BOB--yeah I feel the same way about sitting at # 27!:^:

Monet--You're vacation sounds like fun! I did a very similar trip a few years back. Did you, by any chance, hit Wall drug and the Corn palace????? I thought the SD badlands were gorgeous--of course it was early spring--wouldn't want to be out there in the middle of winter!

Deb, I was able to vote in the poll. Interesting choice since I know exaactly what size I'm wearing cause I've bought like 5 pairs of shoes in the last month. I've always HATED shopping for shoes--so I put it off until everything is worn out and then I have to replace everything at once--funny thing is, I enjoyed the shopping this time and am looking at shoes in a new way!

Kim and everyone--thanks for the encouraging words. I've been temped to just give it all up--but then I think I'll get even bigger and that is depressing too--so I keep going!

Got to get to work now. I hope everyone has a good day on the scale. congrats to all the losers and everyone else--let's hang in there!

Happy WIW Everyone!

Hope the scale was good to everyone today. For me, it was still up the 4 pounds from vacation. Thought sure alot of it was water and would come off, oh well, knew it would happen.I'll get back there soon.

I haven't walked since Monday or worked out with my weights. Was just too tired last nite. Hopefully we can walk toniote and get back into my morning routines and working out. I really miss it.

Deb, Bummer about the modem. I'm with you. Makes you mad when they advertise something and then don't have it. Your kids think money grows on trees too? I guess that's our fault though. I got a laugh out of a visual of you stretching that cover on the futon.

Bob, I must have missed something along the way. You have 9 kids? You must be a saint or just crazy. Hope the procedure goes as well as the first for your mom. Even though your team is not rated, watch out, those Wildcats just might surprise you and kick your butts. LOL

Quilter, Your bath and massage sound heavenly. I might give that olive oil a try on these feet of mine. I'll need a gallon. You said it, "hang loose" that is definately what I would be doing. Hanging or they would be laying next to me on the lounge. LOL. Glad you held on to that 4 lbs.

Zanne, loved your new avatar. The beach is calling me back too. Don't you just hate service people who don't show or don't call. I guess they think we have nothing better to do than wait on them. Hope you get things taken care of soon.

MOnet, WTG resisting those no-no's yesterday. I would have liked to pass onthe scale today, but don't have that much willpower. I guess I like to torture myself.

Trish, good job on not gaining during your vacation. Wish I could say the same.

Cherylco, Congrats on the 10 pounds. You are doing great. I haven't found anything that tasted that great to cheat on. It's better to keep on truckin here and get it off for good. Keep up the good work.

Tranquil, You didn't gain that 3 lbs eating at Deb's did you? I hope she only fed you SB legal foods. It will come right back off. Hope your kidlet has a good first day.

Rosalie, your dinner cruise sounds nice. I bet they have OP food there. Enjoy.

Fillise, I think weight once a week is the best thing. Like you say, no need to be upset everyday and you always have fluctuations & hormones etc to deal with. It gives me something yo look forward to. Hang in there you have already lost 50 pounds, you can do this.

Sorry I missed chat last nite, but was so tired I just had to go to bed.

Congrats to all the losers today and all others, let's do this together.

OK, last week was pure **** for me. TOM hit me with a jackhammer, we fired a girl at work so I'm doing two jobs, I'm training another person and to top it off, my boyfriend got mugged and attacked in his office in Times Square!!!

I think the planets were in some strange alignment last week. Fortunately I've maintained my weight. I'm dogsitting so I'm walking a lot for exercise. Pets can really make you lose the pounds!

Quilter - I used to have a problem with hard skin on my feet. It used to be mainly around the edge of the heels and along the side of the big toe. A few years ago when I was visiting a podiatrist he gave me a prescription for some Uremol and Hydrocortisone Cream. It worked like a charm. Took a while before it went away completely but I noticed a difference almost immediately. Now I always make sure I have some on hand in case I need it. Haven't had a problem recently but it does come back sometime, particularly in the winter.

Fillise - Just hang in there. If you have been op for the last two weeks you are bound to see some results soon. I know it is hard to keep going sometimes, particularly when the scale doesn't move, but we all know what will happen if we give up and it is just not worth it. We have come too far for that to happen. I think it is a good idea to weigh only once a week as long as you are staying op. It's when we have those slips that we need to get on more frequently to make sure the needle isn't inching up. I wish I could take my own advice and keep off of that scale :).

Jack-K - I'm sure that extra vacation weight will come off soon

Deb - I had no trouble voting on the poll. Hope you get the modem problem sorted out soon.

Quivondra - That was a bummer of a week you had. Glad to hear your are maintaining and keeping up with the exercise.

I was in the grocery store to-day to pick up some WW spaghetti and came across Catelli's Healthy Harvest Multigrain Spaghetti. This is the first time I have seen this. Has anyone tried it? The ingredients are Durum Whole Wheat Semolina, Whole Rye Flour, Wheat Bran, Whole Buckwheat Flour, Whole Barley Flour, Brown Rice Flour. I bought some and plan on trying it tonight. Will you let you know what I think of it later.

I feel I haven't been having enough exercise lately. I missed badminton a couple of times last week due to other commitments. I did have a nice long walk on Sunday. Don't know how far. We walked for more than an hour but it was a leisurely walk along the boardwalk by the lake. So this morning I decided to get out one of my exercise tapes. I did the Denise Austin 30 Minute Target Toner - o.k. I only did the first 15 minutes for the upper body. I had the mat ready to get on the floor for the lower body but it was just too hard to get down there. So I put it away for another day. I really have to get my butt in gear again.

Have to go and get some lunch. I just made some chana hummus. I am going to have some of that with some pumpernickel bread. This is the real heavy pumpernickel made with only wholemeal rye, water, salt, bran and lactic acid. It's a good combination, in more ways than one .

Sorry I am not posting to everyone but thinking of you all and wish you all well in this weight loss journey.

Bye for now.

Marie.

Congratulations all the losers today, and keep on truckin' everyone else.

Welcome back, CATLOVER. I was wondering where you were. I'm still sticking with the golf, but some days it it not fun. My ball almost always goes to the right, and no matter what I do, even when I take a lesson, it goes right. I understand about getting the club face back square, but it is hard to see just how it is hitting the ball when the club is so small. It is discouraging. It will be more fun when I can dependably hit the ball straight.

I've got meetings and stuff this week, and took my French test Monday afternoon. It wasn't too hard. I've found a helpful French language learning web site and posted a little on it. A Frenchman from Bordeau actually posted a reply and corrected all my errors! It was a hoot.

Its raining cats and dogs here, Debbie. It was lightening and thundering early this morning. I didn't get my walk in today.

Hello!

I just received the email Debbie generates to tell us all to bettter get in shape and do some posting, or...else...

My mom was visiting from Slovenia these past 2 months, so it was quite intense and exciting. We did a lot of landscaping, and as soon as I get hte time to put my web page together, you will be privy to the results.

Those of you who remember my pottery... I had 2 shows already, and I would think they were successful. I had a lot of fun and I believe am getting some good feedback. I have a web page planned...somewhere on the schedule.

DEBBIE - I am writing this before reading any of the posts, but...the butter dishes were definitely a success. I will be making more of them. What a cool idea, thank you so much!!! I sold all but 2 of them, for the price we talked about. Is that cool or what! I wish I could have come to Miami this summer, but let me tell you , that when my mom figured out we had one extra day to spend together and on drawing architectual plans for her business.... well, we were both quite happy and wished for more time.

O.k. I am back, and so is school. I wondered off the plan a bit, but I am now back with a vengeance.

Missed you all!!

Checkin' In- not much going on- Ashley starts school tomorrow. YIPEE! Well, I stepped on the scale today and was expecting a loss when I got a major shock!- it was up 7 pounds from yesterday! I then went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, and I am so swollen, my eyes are like slits. I am so pissed off at this. The docs won't prescribe me any fluid pills either. It ALMOST makes me want to give up. But I know it's fluid so I will go on....

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

Rainy, gloomy, humid, yucky evening over here on the West Coast of FLA  I went to the grocery after work today and by the time I got home, I was wringing wet with sweat!!! I swear, I'm going to LANE BRYANT and buy some (SUMO) sleeveless shirts! I NEVER wear sleeveless because of the SUMO thing...but I'm ready to break down and do it!

JACKIE....GOTTCHA!!!! :s: I don't have ANY children...I just wanted to talk about getting ready for school like every one else!
CONGRATS of the 84 lbs being gone...you've done SO WELL...I'm very proud of you!

VESNA...WHERE ON EARTH HAVE YOU BEEN???? You've definately been missed...have you talked to SONJA??? She's been MIA too!

TRISH...I know you're glad to be home...vacations are great, but that 1st night back in your own bed is the best!! Sorry I didn't recognise your ranking...I just get SO WRAPPED up in the SEC that I totally forget about other conferences...Good luck!

HEART...maybe you ate something yesterday with a lot of sodium?

GATOR...you ready for the season and the NEW COACH???

One of my best friends daughter was raped and beaten at a rest area between Ocala and Gainesville this past Saturday night. (6p.m.) She was able to get away from them (two) but not before they really worked her over. She is now going thru counseling, trips to the Doctor, and now the risk of HIV testing if they can't find these guys and get them tested. Keep her in your prayers.

KIM...congrats on your loss...so glad you a good time on your trip.
Are you coming to Orlando in January?

MONET..Glad you had a good time on your trip..some of my family was just in Montana . Hope you can join us at the WDW race.
You can help me cheer!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been mia. I am so huge now that I stay uncomfortable. I have 12 days left until my c-section. I feel like a beached whale let me tell you. Nothing I do or nowhere I sit is comfortable. I can hardly wait until August the 19th and I get to hold my baby girl. I go to the doctor every monday and go to Labor and Delivery every Monday and Friday for a unstress test for Ashley to be monitored so they can be sure my gestational diabetes is not affecting her. So far shes doing better than good shes been doing great. Shes a active little thing she kicks and moves all over my tummy. I can hardly wait until I get to see what she looks like. My church family is giving me a baby shower the 15th. They told me they were going to have a recliner for my to sit in there. I think they are being so sweet. I hope everyone is doing great and to the losers keep on keepin on.. I am having Braxton-Hicks contractions every day and while they don't hurt they make me very uncomfortable. I am going to see if the hospital has a baby web site when I go to labor and delivery Friday. I will post a picture when I have the baby on there if they don't I will post one on here. I am looking forward to my tummy being gone. Thats all I am right now is one big tummy.

Well gotta get off here now if I don't get to post before the baby gets here. I will at least post her pic.

I am still sticking to my Sugar Busters.

Talk to you all later!

I received my case of agave nectar today. It took 3 weeks to get it. I was totally out. Now I can make another cheesecake.

BOB--That's awful about your friend's daughter. I'm assuming that it was on I-75. Just a reminder to all of us that women traveling alone can't be too careful. BOB, I pray that she will recover fully both physically and emotionally. What a horrible thing.

Well, about the new coach. Can't say anything until after the season. And I still think about Baby Bowden. His first season at AU was great. One of those early years he won them all, but they were on probation. He was a terrible recruiter, though, and so the Tigers had a big slide. He is living in Orlando now and I occasionally see him at the golf club where we go. Hopefully Zook will do well. After Spurrier, though, there is really only one direction a team can go. :( I miss him already and the season hasn't even started. I know all the other teams in the SEC are happy-happy-happy!

Gotta go. Wanted to get a post in before beddie bye.

HiedieHo All!

Spent most of day in choir room filing and pulling music for coming months. I knew the files were is disarray when I volunteered for librarian, but it has really turned out to be worse than I thought and I can't work more than two or three hours. Choir practice tonight as we are singing Sunday. In two weeks we go back to regular schedule of every Sunday and practice for Christmas Contata.

DEB: Tell Circuit City you want a rain check. If they advertiase something unless it says "While Supplies Last" they have to give you the product.

QUILTER: Your spa visit sounded soooooo good! I think a massage is so luxurious.

QUIV: Was your BF hurt bad?

BOB: Prayers for your friends daughter. It is a reminder to all to be more alert and aware f your surroundings.

THUNDER: The 19th will soon be here. The last couple of weeks seem 9 months long!

I am tired so am going to watch some TV and stitch or do todays puzzles.

Take care. Shirley

Wow....Hubby started his vacation on Monday and I have not had the chance to pop in since that quick one then. My eating continued to be wretched but now hubby has left with DD to visit his parents and I am left at home with the 2 boys and all the assorted critters. I am hoping to get myself back in order. Sadly, I am tempted to just enjoy the rest of August and start fresh in September. The thing is I *know* I will just gain all that time and who needs that?!?! I hate this struggle.

I got some new kites for the boys and myself to fly. We will do some walks in the woods, lego building, bionicle wars (lego also) and some video tournaments. We have so much planned here and I get my new dishwasher delivered today! I can't install it though, I am not a plumber, so I have to wait to use it. My neighbour who goes to the pro-stock car races faithfully every Saturday night is taking me this weekend. Just us two girls (she lives alone and is 56) and I am getting a sitter for the boys. It should be fun to see the *real* cars after Monday's junkers.

BOB- You had me too!! I thought, 8 kids-poor woman!

I can't look back at the posts because this machine keeps freezing. I just send my greetings to all!

I have finally found the time to post ¡V I have been working lots of overtime ¡V I am working late in the evenings on some projects where I have scanned some documents and are cleaning them up for our office to use¡K it takes time to clean up some of these documents because the copies I am scanning are really poor quality copies! My other project is to get all our computer programs, books, etc. in some kind of order ¡V right now it is all thrown into a large mess in a box in my office¡¦s closet¡K. I need the money as my trip to London is creeping up quickly! I cannot even express how excited I am about my trip coming up!

BOB ¡V you are just too funny about the school thing ¡V I sat and wondered, how did I miss the kids????? North Florida is getting some fantastic weather! We have that tropical storm system sitting off our coast blowing cool ocean breezes our way ¡V it is fabulous!!!!!! That is so awful about your friend¡¦s daughter ¡V such monsters in this world to do such things to innocent people¡K. I am with you about Lisa on BB ¡V definitely got to go!!!!

Jack-K ¡V I have been taking sinus medicine and it makes me retain water¡K.that is my guess for the weight gain, because last night I was up all night with trips to the loo ¡V and this morning I was down again! Yeah!!!!!!!!! I learned about different good foods to eat from Deb and Eli ¡V and so today I have packed my (cucumber, tomato, onion, mint, and feta salad) lunch with some whole wheat pita Deb ordered for us! Wonderful!!!!!

Thunderwoman ¡V I bet you cannot wait for that date to get here! Good luck at the hospital and a quick heal! Good for you sticking to Sugar Busters through the pregnancy!!!!

Sef ¡V Sounds like you sure volunteered yourself into a big mess ¡V I cannot believe how fast this year is moving along ¡V Christmas shopping needs to begin! AHHHHH¡K¡K

Mercy ¡V Glad you had a good vacation!!!!

Gracious ¡V Wow ¡V sounds like you have a lot of fun planned with the kiddos, along with congrats on the new washing machine!!! Have fun on your girl¡¦s night out too.

Monet ¡V that would be great if you make it to Orlando!!! I am not in the marathon, but plan to be on the side lines cheering our group on!!!!

Trish ¡V that is terrific that you were able to have no gains on your vacation! Keep up the good work!!!

Cheryl ¡V that is so wonderful about your weight, yuchy about the nasty pizza!

Rosalie ¡V what a bummer about the cable wire! It would drive me batty to not have my cable and internet ƒº Hope you have fun on your dinner cruise ¡V I would imagine they will have something for you for sure!

Fillise ¡V Well 249 is not a bad number ¡V considering we fought so hard to get there! So ¡V keep on doing the good job! I am right there with you at 248 this morning ¡V and very happy about it¡K..

Country ¡V I hope you start to feel better today!!! I had a bad time this month too ¡V felt the same way ¡V but lucky enough it was gone before I left for Miami ¡V or Deb would have thrown me out on my tushy!!! Hahahaha

Vesna ¡V That is great that you are enjoying your experience with showing your pottery and doing well! The pictures I saw were very good! I cannot imagine it not doing well!

Heart ¡V Hang in there ¡V I am not allowed water pills myself ¡V they are truly not good for you¡K.there are a lot of natural foods and things to help ¡V did you know that Vitamin C is a diuretic as well ¡V it will take some fluid out of you¡K..Asparagus is also a diuretic food¡K..

I got to get going ¡V but I am OP and enjoying it today with the weight sliding back off ¡V hopefully with all the stuff I learned from Deb, I will be trimmer in no time at all¡K.. Off to the doctor today to have my foot checked out - it is killing me - hopefully it is just some inflamed tendon and needs a cortisone shot - otherwise, I will be really upset if it is broken or I cannot use it!

Happy Thursday Gang,

Not much going on here. Don't really feel like working. I had to sta until 10:00 last nite. Went home and went straight to bed and back here first thing this morning. Sucks.

Question: Lite cool whip. Is it legal? It contain 2 grams of sugar. What do you all think?
Bob, You are crazy. 9 kids isn't something to even joke about. How horrible about your friends DD. I hope she gets lots of counseling. I hope the HIV tests show negative. Prayers for her and her family.

Thunderwoman. How exciting for you. I know you are miserable, but the excitement of a new precious baby girl is wonderful. The time will be here before you know it. Be sure to post a picture. Great going on doing SB through this. My DD's name is Ashley too.

Gator, cheesecake sounds so good. I have been out of agave and need to go get some (if they still have it). Make one for me. LOL. I'm a SEC girl, KY Wildcats, but never was a Spurrier fan. Ran the score up too much for me. and of course we were always on the low end.

Mercy, glad you had a good vacation and are back safe.

Gracious, don't wait for SEpt to start back. It's no fun losing the same weight twice. If you are up some now, by Sept it could be doubled. Jump on that wagon, it's coming around.

Sef, Hope your librarian job isn't more work than fun. Tackle small portions at a time.

Heartmom, Maybe you can find some natural diuretics, like lemon. Put it in your water. I know there are some others too. Hope Ashley has a nice first day back to school.

Tranquil, Glad your wt was back down today. Funny how our bodies work. Hope your foot is ok. I know how you like to exercise and that will hold you back. God getting al lthat overtime for your trip. It sounds like a great time. I had to work until 10:00 last nite, but the sad part is I don't get paid for overtime.:(

Have a great day everyone!

Jack-K - Ewwww, working till 10 - that is a killer!!! Normally I don't get paid overtime as well - but, what I did was ask for extra work not pertaining to my every day job I could be paid extra for :) Yes, it is killing me that my foot hurts so much.... I am on it anyway - but had to cut my evening walk short because it was throbbing so badly - made it to 1 1/2 miles - which is not too bad, but the rest of my body was ready for 3 miles minimum!

I am trying to find the agave now that I tried Deb's sf cheesecake - oh was it delicious!!!! Sinfully so!!!! I found a new store around the corner from my house = and I am going to check it out on Saturday - hopefully they can also direct me to more stores in the area as well -

Well I better get busy!!! I am eager to get to the doctor! Between my eye and my foot - I might as well set up camp at the doctor's office! I should be on a good first name basis as well - hahaha - and on Monday I have my annual! Then I have a sun damage growth on my forehead that is really growing at an accelerated pace - that will have to be taken care of right away as well - hahaha - might as well just put me down - this old dog has seen her best days! ;)

Hello,

I finally have a few minutes to give my input about our visit with Deb and family last weekend. She made such a good report that there I don't know if there is much I can add about what all we did, but I will try.

Deb is a real joy and inspiration to be with. She is very down to earth and has an "open book" type personality. I felt like I was visiting with an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. Meeting her in person, truly reinforced my belief of how blessed we all are to have her as our moderator and most important, our friend! She genuinely has a heart full of love and a selfless spirit of generosity towards other. I just fell in love with the whole family. ELI is a lot of fun and quite a personality, not to mention a fabulous cook. Michael and Lauren are just marvelous kids. They are talented, funny, intelligent and beautiful like their mother. Deb showed us pictures of when she was Lauren's age and they look like sisters. They kids were both a true delight to be with.

The "Wig Party" on Friday night was a blast. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much and just really let my hair down, so to speak. Or should I say let my hair up, in the BIG AFRO wig. I had forgotten that I could let myself be so silly, especially with wearing it to the yard sales. I enjoyed every minute of it though. I think the"wigfest" should be a part of every SB gathering that we have from now on! There will be lots of blackmail pictures form that night, I am sure.

And for those inquiring minds ......YES, we ate lots of good SB legal food. Deb has a house full of it! We were very privileged to have a peek  at her very treasured and legal stash of mouth watering CHOCOLATE! Very impressive! She made her famous cheesecake and it was the first time I've tried it. Oh boy, was it ever luscious. For a moment, I felt like I could easily replace the woman in the Herbal Essence commercials! It was just out of this world!

Debbie, thanks for such a fabulous visit. I can't wait to do it again!

Well, the "proof is in the pudding" as the saying goes, and my weight is down to 215 this week. That is about 2 lbs less than last week, so you know we couldn't have behaved too badly. After all, we did have the constant threat of being thrown in the Detox Dungeon the whole weekend!

Now that I've told my side of the story, I will try to catch up on some posts: Looks like lots of us have been doing some traveling lately.

Monet, welcome back from vacation. Sounds like you had a great time. I hope to visit that part of the country one day. I know that I will be making a trip to Atlanta to see my Dad in the near future. I hope we can meet when I do.

Filise, I can imagine how happy Miss Belle was upon your return. My hounds were sure smiling and doing the happy dance when I picked them up from the boarding kennel.

catlover, WOW, you sure traveled through a lot of states! How long have you been playing golf? I've always thought about learning one day. I enjoy any sport where hitting a ball is involved. Only 1 lb gain, that is great!

Quilter, Glad to hear that you also had a wonderful visit with your friends. Aren't you just so proud of yourself for staying OP and not cheating? The Roman bath and massage sounded so divine! I totally agree with you, the fun and camaraderie of being with good friends is what makes the occasion feel so extraordinary. WTG on your weight loss! How did Paul get along while you were away?

Jack-K, you also need to brush up on your Spanish if you ever get to visit Deb in Miami. I didn't feel like we were still in Florida while at the malls as there sure wasn't much English being spoken.
I've almost bought the lite cool whip before but thought I read that the 2 grams of sugar was per serving. I love cool whip but decided against as I figured I would eat too much of it. I would be interested in knowing if it is legal, also. Glad you had a nice vacation in such a beautiful place. I wouldn't have been able to resist those Pina Coladas either!

BOB, so sorry to hear about your friends DD. She was so fortunate to have gotten away from those horrible men. I had a cousin that wasn't so lucky. She was raped and murdered about 16 years ago. My heart especially goes out to women that have been so terribly violated in that way.

On a lighter note, I agree! LISA HAS TO GO on BIG BROTHER!

Sef, you are always doing so much for others. It is evident that you truly have a servant's heart and spirit!

Tranquil, hope you get some relief for the foot. Nah, The old dog doesn't need to be put down. Maybe just adopted in to a home for some TLC and one that can afford her Vet bills. LOL

There are so many more post I want to reply to, but have to scoot for now. I will try to catch up with more later.

Some good news on the home front! The ex-2-b has found an apartment and is moving out next week. Hopefully, the task of starting to divide belongings won't get too difficult.

I'm going to try to attach a pic of Tranquil, Deb and myself at Eli's new Starbucks. If it comes out Ok, you might be able to see Deb doing little finger tricks behind our heads!

Take Care!

Hi all.... It has been a long time. It has been crazy around here and to top it all off I had surgery last Tuesday. I had to have my ovaries and tubes removed (already had the other stuff removed 9 years ago). Dr. said I had a cyst and it was growing and because of age, past history and that it was growing that I should have them removed. Well after the pathology report it wasn't a cyst it was a tumor, bignign (sp) and the size of a tennis ball. I am doing fine. I feel stronger every day. I will be off work for 8 weeks so this should allow me to check in more often.

Trust everyone is doing great. Will check back in later today.

I'm so glad you're doing better.

WENDY...GREAT PICTURE...watch out though.....you can't have ELI....he's MINE!!! I knew you would have a good time!

GATOR...yes, she was on I-75..the counseling started yesterday and today she had another exam. She can't be alone, the Dr said she can't drive alone...her sister is coming from N.C. on Tuesday and will stay with her next week. She is going to try to get her to return to Asheville with her.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE GOOD THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS..Bless her heart, she's so fragile and I just hope this doesn't send her over the edge!

Talked to the FEARLESS LEADER today...she is STILL CLEANING HOUSE!!! Still no luck with the modem though.

Whew--long day! I've been running since early this morning and I have stuff to do yet tonight.

My computer was acting up this morning so I didn't get to post. I did manage to stay off the scale this morning AND stay OP. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement!

BOB--so sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. I, too, hope she will be able to heal both physically and psychologically. I understand about the kids--I find myself looking for back-toschool stuff for my nieces. I just LOVE the Staples commercial "It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

Cyndi--I'm wishing you a spedy recovery from your surgery! I hope it takes care of the problems and you are in fighting form soon!

Sabrina--we'll head down the scale together! 249 is certainly better than 300! So I will take all the progress I can get!

Vesnia--Good to hear from you again--glad to hear you had a good time with your mom! Maybe you should make Deb your agent!!!!!

Deb--I'd ask for the raincheck too! I thought about you--I scored a good deal on some walking shoes last weekend--now to get out there is use them!

Gracious--Hop on the wagon with us! We'll help you get back OP--has the dungeon mistress gotten hold of your phone number yet?

Heartmom--don't you just HATE that bloat???????? Try to drink lots of water to encourage your body to release the fluids.

Got to go--Belle says its time for bed!

Have a good Friday everyone!

Tranquil asked me to post this for her: Deb called tonight around 9:30 to say she is still having computer trouble and is sorry she hasn't been able to be online. She is hoping to be on again by Friday. Needless to say, she is very frustrated with the computer situation.

Tranquil is trying to stay off of her bad foot so I told her I would make the post, since I was at her house when she got the call. I think the foot hurts a lot worse than she wants to admit. :(

I'm sure they would both appreciate any good thoughts and prayers sent their way!

Good night!

hello all,
First time post. Have been reading this board for a couple of weeks. I've been on sugarbusters for 3 weeks now. Have lost 7 pounds, but the best part is the way I FEEL!!! Who knew that sugar was such POISON!!! I work the nite shift which is enuff to make anyone feel yucky most of the time. I've never been one to diet, but I decided to give this a try because in the last 5 yrs I've gone from a size 7 to barely fitting in a 12. 'Bout to bust into a 14. Some would say that's nothing, but I am short and have a very small frame. Also, being in my late 30's I'm getting fat rolls everywhere and am very miserable in my clothing. Well, my friend is a diet freak, tried them all. I read over her sugarbuster's shopper's guide and said hey, this isn't bad. Anyway, I'm starting to ramble, but wanted to give a little intro.
I've not been exactly watching my number of starchy carbs per meal, just eating legal stuff. Any suggestions on how to get myself there would help. My other friend has my books right now and I'm a little confused on what exactly is my starchy carbs. Also, I wanted to know about coffee creamer. The book said no because it is coconut oil, mine says soybean and/or canola, but it also says corn syrup solids, yet it says carbs 1g and sugar 0. If I use it sparingly, (and what exactly is sparingly) is it okay?
I'm so glad for this new WOE. It has truly changed my life.
I've got a friend who has diabetes in her family and I've got her on this too. I told her about this msg board and I've nicknamed myself "little fat chick". We get a big laugh outta that because she's always been large and it seems I'm trying to catch her.
Well, I've rambled enough. Would appreciate an answer to my coffee creamer question.
Best wishes to all from the "little fat chick" in Tennessee,

jonna

Hi everyone, So glad I found this site...a few years ago I was diag. w/ diab.II, and DR. told me to buy SB and follow....I did, faithfully, to the point of being obsessive. Well, I losst 30 pounds and dropped sug. 100pt., choles. dropped too....I was doing so well then, I FELL off the wagon and what a fall...since then I have gained back 30+20, now 250, sugar went ski hi, I am on meds now and not liking it at all and trying to get a grasp again...well, I have decided with all the nutritional info I have absorbed in the past few years, that SB is the best for me - namely I had positive results....so, I am hopping back on the wagon. Hope this is where I can get answers some of my questions, ie, is spendida ok to use? and do you follow the 40,30,30 rule at every meal or for the day or both? I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you and learning from this site and well as getting support when I need it....I am 55, grandmom of 12, wife of stubborn loving husband with a new shoulder, a quilter, sewer and gardener. Speaking of gardening, I am loving my tomatoes and cucumbers right now - wish I had them year round. Have a great day and thanks for all the good info...Marth

Friday Morning!

I’m so glad to see Friday get here and know that we have no plans for the weekend. It’s exactly what we need since we’ve both been gone for the past two weekends. I’m still trying to recoup from the big weekend. Man, the older I get the long it takes to get back on track.

My eating has been pretty good. Nothing illegal. But I have to confess that yesterday I had MORE than my fair share of starchy carbs. It was like I was craving them. Part of the problem is that I need to hit the grocery store to restock on all the veggies and fruit. That will be done today, so I can leave the breads alone. I think I’ll start off my breakfast today with some scrambled eggs. Usually that good protein is a good way to purge the carbs. At least that works for me.

MCJON & STITCH---Welcome to the board! You've found a fun group of people who are all about helping each other reach our goals. I hope we can answer any of your questions and give you some support along the way. Feel free to ask anything. The question you ask is probably on the minds of MANY people who don't want to post it. So you are doing everybody a favor by asking questions.

SERENE---Thanks for updating us on DEB and TRANQ. They are probably going through withdrawal because they can’t spend their usual time on the board. We miss them. Sounds like your trip to DEB’s was a blast. I’m glad you all had such a good time. Congrats on the loss. It truly does make a difference! WTG!!!

FILLISE---Glad to hear you are giving that scale the cold shoulder. Just keep turning up your nose to it and perhaps it will begin to cooperate.

BOB---You/we have just as much right to go sleeveless as everybody else. I think there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s HOT outside, so we must be good to ourselves. And if anybody doesn’t like it, then we can tell them what to do with their sleeves. You cracked me up with the children. That was funny! Will you take care of mine too??? LOL I’m not sure about Orlando in January. We’ll have to look at the finances and see what’s what. We sure would love to come down and see you all and spend about a week with everybody. Sorry Lisa didn’t get the boot. I never watch that, but wanted to see what you were talking about. What was up with that outfit she was wearing? Do you think she had to shave her pubes to wear that low-rider skirt? Yuck!

THUNDER---I’m sending you good thoughts and prayers that all will go well for you. How exciting for you to get this new family member. My SIL is due in September and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of her little girl. I can’t wait to hold her in my arms and begin the spoiling. You take care. We’re all pulling for you.

SEF---I can remember when you cleaned out the choir room many months ago. They sure must be a sloppy bunch. I hope Arthur doesn’t feel the need to come around after you finish your chores in there.

MERCY---Welcome back. Sounds like a fun trip!

GRACIOUS---We will all try and hoist you back up on BOB’s wagon. Don’t wait until August!!! There’s a spot for you right now. I know it’s hard to get back on . . . it took me so many months that I was so ashamed. But here’s the thing to keep in the front of your brain: Each day that you don’t eat OP is one less opportunity to get to your goal. You can do this. And you will when you get ready. I don’t know what I was waiting for, but it finally took with me. So I’m really keeping my fingers crossed for you that you will be able to do what you want to do. Take care! We’re all hoping for your success. What kind of dishwasher did you get? I love ours. Isn’t it fun getting new appliances?

TRANQ---I am so excited for you going to England. That’s one of my favorite places. Where all will you go? Are you going with a tour? I had friends who lived there, so I just went by myself and stayed with them. Then did short trips by myself or with my friend. It was GREAT! Are you going to Stonehenge? Bath was my favorite city. I think it’s the most beautiful. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that your foot heals quickly. You will want to have happy feet in England, that’s for sure!

JACK-K----Girl, you are working too hard. What kind of job do you have that you have to work such long hours? Hope your weekend is better!

TONI---Good to hear from you. Thanks for checking in. WTG on passing up the “goodies” which are really the “baddies”. And you really got the reward on WIW. Three pounds is great!!! See what happens when you withstand those temptations. Keep up the wonderful work. You are inspiring me to keep on track.

RED---Thank goodness your tumor was benign. I’ll bet you are feeling so much relieved. How long does the doctor think you had it? Isn’t it great to have a “heads up” dr who finds things like this and takes care of them? Enjoy your time off and take it easy. Don’t push yourself. Are you in much pain? My prayers are with you.

HEARTMOM---Hang in there with your efforts to lose. You can do this. I know it’s discouraging, but you must remain strong. Can you up your water intake? Do you think that will help?

ROSALIE---Thanks for the tips on trying to get my feet to be less scaley. I swear, my heels are so rough, I could cut something with them. While shopping last weekend, I found this company called Burt’s Bees. And I bought some of their hand salve. I’ve been putting it on my heels at night. I think I will order some of their foot stuff. Because I love this hand salve. They have a website so I can order off there. I need to go to the doctor in a couple of months, perhaps she can give me a prescription for something like what you used.

Well, that’s it for me. I need to make out a grocery list or I’ll go and buy all the wrong things. Take care, girls and Daramus. And have a fabulous weekend.

Happy Friday!

For a short week, it sure took a long time to get here. I think I am finally rested up from my vacation. Last night I laid down on the bed for a second before we took our walk about 7:00. Well that was the end of both of us. We woke up at 10:30, shut the garage door and went right back to bed until 5:30 this morning. Have a little bit of a headache. Probably too much sleep. Checked the scale this morning and have lost 3 of the 4 lbs gained from vacation. So I feel better about that. Of course, I have had "D" all week long for some reason, so I guess that helped the loss. (Sorry if that was too much info).

Since I worked so late the other nite, my boss said I could leave at lunch time today. That was nice. So I guess I will take my DD lunch where she is babysitting and maybe float in their pool or go home and pickup my messy house.

Toni, You are having a great weekly losses. Great job. Keep up the good work. I found that 3 lbs you lost. Enjoy your company

Gracious, Glad you are aboard. We'll hold on tight this time.

Tranquil, the last time I made the cheesecake I used those oatbran pretzels for the crust. Yum! I have also used pecans for the crust. Be careful not to damage you foot more with walking on it too much. Just read your 2nd post. Maybe if you stay off your foot it will heal in time for your trip. What a bummer.

Serene, sounds like you were one crazy group of girls in Fla. Glad you all had a good time. I’m sure Deb is a great motivator. So glad to hear you ex2b is finally moving out. Don’t let him take too much stuff. Congrats on the 2 lbs loss.

Red1, So nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear you had to have surgery. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Better to get those things taken care of now before it gets worse.

Fillise, You’re doing great staying OP. You should see results next Wed. Good going.

Bob, you had better get those 9 kids in bed. LOL

Mcjonjon, Welcome. SB has definitely changed my life. I have gone from a 22 to a tight 12. 82 pounds total. I simply love this WOE. Can’t help you on the creamer, don’t use it. Carbs are cereal, brown rice, ww bread, ww pasta. This is a great board which you have found out if you have been reading for a couple of weeks. Lots of support and friendship. My biggest advice is to plan ahead. Plan your meals so you can work out your carbs, and plan for eating out. I always have triscuits in my purse and usually take ww bread with me when we go to someone’s house. Look forward to getting to know you.

Stitch, Welcome. The wagon is making it’s rounds so jump on in. As you know, this is a great WOE and something you can follow for life. Splenda is ok to use. Look forward to getting to know you.

Quilter, Something must be going around. I was so hungry yesterday that I ate everything (legal of course) that I could find. I’m with you on the older thing. It’s taking me all week to recupe from my “vacation”. LOL. I’m headed to the grocery too this weekend. My house is bare.

If I missed anyone, Hi, have a nice day.

Have a great day everyone.

Hiya Yall!! Well the kiddos have been in school all week, and I've survived being home alone. The little one is LOVING Kindergarten and the oldest is really having a blast in Middle School! (He already has a girlfriend in his class. They've exchanged pictures and they spend about 2 hours a night on the phone!! THEY ARE ONLY 10!)

mcjonjon - WELCOME~! When I first started SB, I didn't count the servings of starchy carbs either. I just concentrated on eating only the RIGHT KIND of carbs and THEN I worked on getting my servings down. It didn't seem to slow my progress any, I lost my first 20 pounds in under 3 months. SB makes everyone lose differently. Like Jack-K said... she lost 82 pounds and went from a 22 to a tight 12... well I've only lost 30 pounds and went from a 20 to a 14, so it will depend on your body type! (It will also depend on how you like your clothes to fit.. :) ) Just stick to it and you'll see a BIG difference in how you feel as well as how you look. And it will ALL be GREAT. One of the best helpers is to drink a TON of water, I always lose more on the weeks I did well on my water intake. I lose nothing when I don't drink much water that week... that's just my experience though. The creamer sounds legal... I guess if you're using what they call a serving, and that serving has less than 3g sugars... it's legal as long as all the other ingredients are legal. That's my understanding anyway. Glad to see another night shifter (I work the 2nd/3rd swing shift at the Sheriffs Dept.) I know EXACTLY how you feel!! It's hard enough to keep from feeling blah staying up all night, and you want to snack to stay awake! What part of TN are ya from? I'm in North Alabama about 15 minutes from the TN state line (Ardmore) Maybe we can do (legal) lunch sometime :)

OK Y'all... last night was a 2nd shift night, and I had 4 hours of sleep before getting the kiddo's to school, so I'm gonna get the dishes and laundry going and take a NAP!
I'll try to post more later :) Still haven't been near a scale since the doc's office a month ago.. but my clothes are fitting the same so I'm guessing I'm stalled out here. Better than gaining since I've been on these BC Pills for about a week now. Boy do they make me feel like barfing! The doc said that usually wears off in a couple of weeks... hello???? Like I wanna feel puky for a couple of weeks!! Oh well... it's better than surgery!

See ya'll later!!!

Thanks all for the quick responses. I will use the creamer in moderation because even though it is corn syrup solids it has 0 sugars per serving. I will lay off it within time and see if it makes a difference. If anyone reads this who uses or chose not to use I would appreciate the input.

Beth - Lunch would be a stretch unfortunately. I'm at the top west corner of Tennesee, state lines of Kentucky and Missouri. I'm about 2 hrs north of Memphis. It was really a lovely thought. Made my day. Yes, I'm a water-holic. I recycle water bottles to the dishwasher then fill them up and put in freezer. I take at least 2 to work with me every night. Water is the first thing I drink in the morning (my night shift morning haha) and have developed a thirst for it as soon as my feet hit the floor. You are right, it really does make a difference.

So glad to know others enjoying this WOE too.

Morning all!

There haven't been many posts since I posted last night--but I want to say hello to Stitch and McJonJon--Welcome! It sounds like both of you are off to a good start! Spenda is OK, I don't know about the creamer as I don't use it. One of the things I've done while on SB is wean myself off sweetner in my coffee so I now drink it black. I never used sugar, but decided to try to wean my self off the taste of "sweet" as much as possible.

I'm going to "weigh in" on the sleeveless thing. I just can't do it. I gaze longingly at the sleeveless tops and dresses in the stores, but con't make myself do it. I'm at the age where I am developing the "angel wings" or "teacher arm" so I stay in short sleeves. But that's just me. Oh yes--BOB, I also NEVER wear white shoes!

Uh-Oh, Belle just stepped on my keyboard and the screen looks funny now. Better go.

Well--I'm the proud "mom" of 2 new Eastern Black Swallowtail buttterflies. And there is still one more waiting to emerge. The first "hatched" yesterday. I had looked at the chrysalis and didn't see anything much different, but then, about 20 minutes later, there was a butterfly. Today, one of the other chrysalides was much blacker than it had been, so I was keeping an eye on it. Lo and behold, I turned away for about 3-4 minutes, and turned back to see a butterfly that had just emerged. It was black with greyish-black limp wings that had not expanded. They sort of looked like small black pieces of limp wrinkled Kleenex. Slowly they expanded until they looked like wings. On this particular species they are black wings with a couple of yellow stripes on the top side of the wing, and blue, orange and yellow on the underside. I took the entire butterfly bowl out to the garden and sat with it on my lap for the couple of hours it took for the little fella to finally fly away. It was fascinating. I hope I don't miss the last one actually emerging from its chrysalis. That, I hope, will happen tomorrow during the daytime. While I was in the butterfly garden I saw 6 different species of butterflies: monarch, zebra longwing, gulf frittilary, giant swallowtail, eastern black swallowtail, and a small skipper type butterfly that I have not identified yet. The giant swallowtail is fabulous. It is so large that it has to keep flapping its wings to stay on the flower. It's about 5" across.

Tranq--I've had a stress fracture in my right foot twice. One in one of the metatarsals and the second in my heel. I had to have my foot in a cast for that heel one. Six weeks. My experience leads me to say: obey your doctor and stay off the foot. If there is absolutely no pressure on that bone that is trying to heal itself, the quicker it will mend. When you go to England, you might consider a removable cast. I think they even make removable walking casts.

Have a great day everyone. And welcome to the newbies.

My Step Sister that lives in Georgia sent this to me. I think most of this also applies to the North Florida area that I live in. :D

Subject: From Georgia

You know you're from Georgia if.....
1. You measure distance in hours.
2. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
3. Stores don't have bags; they have sacks.
4. Stores don't have shopping carts; they have buggies.
5. You see a car running in the parking lot at the store with no
one in it, no matter what time of the year.
6. You use "fix" as a verb. Example: I am fixing to go to the store.
7. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, or animal.
8. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
9. You carry jumper cables in your car...for your OWN car.
10. You get tears in your eyes when Lee Greenwood sings "Proud to be an American," no matter how often you hear it.
11. You only own four spices: salt, pepper, ketchup, and Tabasco.
12. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.
13. You think lingerie is a tee shirt and boxer shorts.
14. The local paper covers national and international news on one page but requires 6 pages for sports.
15. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.

17. You find 90 degrees F "a little warm,"
18. You know all four seasons: Almost summer, summer, Still summer, and Christmas.
19. You know whether another Georgian is from southern, middle, or northern Georgia soon as they open their mouth.
20. There is a Dairy Queen in every town with a population of 1000 or more.
21. Going to Wal-mart is a favorite past-time known as "goin wal-martin" or off to "Wally World.
22. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good chili weather.
23. A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola, or pop ... it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor.

The Lonely Rancher
While enjoying an Early morning breakfast in a northern Arizona cafe, four elderly ranchers were discussing everything from cattle, horses, and weather to how things used to be in the "good old days." Eventually, the conversation moved on to their spouses. One gentleman turned to the fellow on his right and asked, "Roy, aren't you and your bride celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary soon?" "Yup, we sure are," Roy replied. "Well, are you gonna do anything special to celebrate?" another man asked.
The old gentleman pondered this for a moment, then replied, "For our 25th anniversary, I took Bea to Tucson. Maybe for our 50th, I'll go down there and get her."

The Mood Ring
My husband bought me a mood ring the other day.
When I'm in a good mood it turns green.
When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a red mark on his forehead.

The Water Pistol (or Revenge)
When my three-year-old son opened the birthday gift from his grandmother, he discovered a water pistol. He squealed with delight and headed for the nearest sink. I was not so pleased. I turned to Mom and said, "I'm surprised at you. Don't you remember how we used to drive you crazy with water guns?" Mom smiled and then replied....."I remember."

Half Price
US Air recently introduced a special half fare for wives who accompanied their husbands on business trips. Expecting valuable testimonials, the PR department sent out letters to all the wives of businessmen who had used the special rates, asking how they enjoyed their trip.
Letters are still pouring in asking, "What trip?"

Life After Death
"Do you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees. "Yes, Sir," the new employee replied. Well, then, that makes everything just fine," the boss went on. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you."

Hi There!

I talked to Deb a few minutes this morning and she asked me to post that she may try to be online this afternoon. I'd say look for a "Mega Post" when she is able to.

Update on Tranquil: xray done this morning. They said a break could not be seen on the traditional xray - so they are waiting for approval from Aetna for a bone scan and then send her over again to get a shot of radiation - then I go back to work for 4 hours, then she goes back and they take a picture....if that shows nothing - then it is a ligament sprain and they will show her the therapy used to heal it, and the meds she can take.
The insurance co. is being slow in giving approval, what a surprise!

mcjonjon, welcome to the SB board. I'm glad you found us. Don't worry about "rambling" in your posts. As you can see, a lot of us do and we love details! About coffee creamer.....I do use it but just don't overindulge. I love the flavored creamers but have tried to use half/half as it has only 1 gram of sugar. Do you drink a lot of coffee? My ususal is 1 to 3 cups a day. The creamer is one luxury that I still allow myself, along with occasional Blue Bunny sugar free icecream, made with Splenda. I don't think the use of these have slowed down my weight loss from 241 to 215. I've worked night shift before so know how yucky that can make you feel. I lived in Malden Missouri one time. Sounds like you aren't too far from there maybe??

stitch, welcome back to this WOE. Glad you found us also. I've also done other diets and found SB to be the best one for me too. The support and friendship from this group has sure helps me want to keep eating on program. WOW, 12 grandkids, what a blessing for you! Do they live close by or scattered about? So, Another quilter......there are several on board here. Not something I know how to do but would love to learn. Tranquil would sure enjoy your tomatoes and cucumbers along with you!She is also originally from NY.

Quilter, hope you get rested this weekend with Paul and Maddie. I'm with you about taking longer to recoup as I get older.

Jack-k, how great that you've lost 3 lbs of vacation weight already. Sorry to hear about the Big D though. You keep inspiring me with your success! The cheese cake with pretzel crust sounds so yummy! I've already make up my mind that I will decide what I will let my ex-2-b take with him. He has already asked for a few things that I've said "NO" to.

Beth, school has started here for our kids also. Seems to start a little earlier every year. I don't do as well with weight loss when I don't have the water either. I need to make sure I drink more, thanks for the reminder. Do you work an occasional 2nd shift? I thought it was normally 3rd for you? Hope the BC pills will help with your problem.

Fillise, I'm with you on the sleeveless concerns. I'm too self conscious about my arms not to wear sleeves. However, I think that anyone that is comfortable doing so, should!

Gotta run! Out of time as usual. I'm enjoying the weather today. Overcast with light rain, but the temps are down. We are having a cold snap tonight.....down to 64 degrees. It will feel great!:D

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Take Care,
Wendy

I'm still toting around 3 of the 7 pounds that appeared a couple days ago. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone watched the ICU Arkansas series Wed night? I knew of one of the boys featured, Sawyer, who died. It was very hard to watch and of course, I was boo hooing. I'm so glad that they decided to air it because it will promote CHD awareness and maybe some of my friends and family members were watching and realized the seriousness of having a heart kid and the emotional roller coaster that goes along with it.

Well it is a bright sunny day here... mixed with smoke. I live at the base of the sierra's where there has been a forest fire buring for almost three weeks. The smoke comes into the valley and it stinks. I like to camp but this smell is getting to me. They are sayng that they may not be able to get the fire completely out until the first snow. There may not be a forest left by then.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am feeling better every day. Surgery sucks. I am not used to sitting around and doing very little. I can't lift my granddaughter up, clean house, and standing to much right now make fixing dinner interesting.

I am hoping to work harder on this WOE while I am off. I would like to go back to work a few lbs. less. I am trying not to eat to much since I am sitting alot and can't exercise.

Welcome MCJonJon and Stich....It is a great way to eat.

Quilter... In some pain mostly on my right side where the tumor was. The dr noticed it when I had my yearly check up last Oct. It was about 4cm. He said we would watch it and by June it had grown to 6cm and started to give me some discomfort. I thought I had a bladder infection and when it came back ok I knew that it must be the other. I can't say enough about listen to yuor body and don't ignore the pains.

Tranquil... Hope you feel better soon and they can find out exactly what is up with the fracture. Listen to your dr. You want to make that trip to london and have a great time.

Talk to you all later....trust everyone will have a great weekend.

Finally a post! Been MIA this past week - more hectic happenings at work & home.

Got a 7-week old puppy on Sunday. =D We saw her at a shelter, and I just HAD to go get her, even though we won't move into the house until the end of the month.

She's a border collie mix - looks like a fuzzy lab/retriever. Absolutely a darling! Very smart, after two days she realized if she went to the door and whined, that she'd go outside to potty. She still has some minor accidents - after all, puppy bladders are teeny  BUT I've never had a dog pick up on housetraining so quickly!

So this week has been crazy, trying to avoid "puppy messes", sleeping on the floor with the little darling, and desperately trying to keep her quiet, cuz I'm not supposed to have a pet in my apartment!

Anyhow, Saturday she goes in for boarding until we get the house. We felt it was better for all of us, and the good news is I get to go play with her every day, since they don't have restrictions on visits. :D I am still sad she won't be there, but a little relieved too. It will be nice to be able to let her bark and yip like a puppy should, without having to "shush" her all the time!

I'll send a pic when I get the film developed.

So far things are moving along with the house. We are just awaiting the appraisal report and title stuff for the underwriting to be done, but all my verifications have come back and look okay. Yay!

Last on the list is my eating. :( I have fallen so far off the wagon, I don't think it can ever pick me up again. I have no motivation, no willpower, and no strength.

Has anyone ever been down that far? I don't know where to begin again.

Sorry I can't address all the individual posts at the moment, but I've been trying to read when I can.

Hugs to all,

Jenn

HiedieHo All!!

I am so tired. Cleaned and hung pictures, a slew of them! It warms up the room a lot. Too much bare walls. So it is worth it.

MERCY: Nothing to report on your vacation? Hope you had a good time.

GRACIOUS: Don't wait until September! You know the scale will up and you will hate yourself. At least I would if it was me!

TRANQUIL: I can only imagine how exited I would be if I were going to London. I'm all het up over visiting back east! I have ideas for Christmas gifts but have not shopped yet, and I usually do. I guess it's because I want money for my trip. You'll probably go to London strapped up! Hope the pain diminishes.

JACKK: Some schedule you have. We can stay up for fun but hard to do for work isn't it? I use the lite CoolWhip sometimes. I found that the store brand had less sugars etc. so use that. I do the library stuff, only a couple of hours at a time. I have gotten involved and not realized the time, then pay for it later.

SERENE: My spirits willing, it's the body that's weak!

RED1: Sorry to here about your troubles. My opinion is it's better out than in. Hope you are feeling better soon.

MCJONJON: Welcome! I don't use creamer so have nevr read the label. I did see on the Today show, I think, that it is terrible for cholesterol.

STITCH: Welcome. Your name suggests an avid stitcher. You will find a lot of info here, plus a great group of people.

QUILT: It's not that the choir is sso sloppy now, it's just that nothing has been done to the files or music in years. Things were filed willynilly. It's just so much stuff piled on shelves the same way. So a little at a time.

FILLISE: I'm with you! I can't go sleeveless, except in the house. Would never go public!

GATOR: Congratulations MawMaw! It sounds so interesting.

JENN: I would love to have another dog. Sounds pretty smart.

Okay I've rested a bit. Have to make the bed up. Then going for a swim and finish fixing supper. Have a roast in the crockpot. Noodles sound easy!

Friday evening and hubby and DD have been gone since Thursday morning. The 2 boys left with me have had me hopping. We have played cars, lego, races and have made some stained glass butterflies out of waxed paper and crayon shavings. They both slept in my bed with me last night…needless to say I have had better nights of sleep! But they are sweet and consider it such a treat to sleep together.

I got the dishwasher installed today and have already done a load. I was so anxious, I simply took out all my glasses in the cupboard and washed them again! They are always shinier coming out of the dishwasher. I loved it and am so happy to have that in order now.

I have been eating well and drinking tons of water. I benefited from the pep talks and am hanging onto that wagon really tight!

FILLISE- Thanks for the encouragement. Isn’t it funny how we all have our weak moments? One day we are the ones bemoaning things then the next we are urging others to hang in there. That is what is wonderful about this board! Thanks.
Oh..I am with you on the sleeveless thing. Actually, this summer I just moved myself away from short sleeves to the elbow to real short sleeves. I even wore a dress with sleeves that were almost cap! My upperarms haven’t seen the light of day in ages. Even when I was a size 5 I tried to keep them hidden.

MCJONJON-Welcome to the board! This is a wonderful place to learn about SugarBusters and to get support.

STITCH-Welcome to you too! I have to ask how many kids you have that gave you 12 grandkids at such a young age??

QUILTER-Thank you so much. {hugs} I think you are sweetheart for encouraging me like that. I am on the wagon and seem to be getting my head screwed back on straight again! I got a Kenmore dishwasher. It matches my stove and fridge and keeps things simple dealing with Sears. It works great and I am so grateful to have it.

TONI- Good to hear from you! 3 pounds is wonderful, keep it up.

JACK-K- It took me a minute to clue into what D was…I got it! ;) At least 3 out of those 4 lbs are gone, no matter how you got rid of them!

RED1- Nice to hear from you too. Glad the surgery went well and they got the tumour out. I hope you have an easy recovery.

JENN-I love the Leslie Sansone tapes!

SERENE- I loved your Friday Funnies.

BOB-Sorry about your uncle. What did you feed all those kids? ;)

JENN- We just got ourselves a 12 week old puppy from the local shelter too. She is a small terrier cross and has been a dream to housetrain. I am crate training her as well and she has done marvelously. I cannot risk her ruining our carpet. I went through that with a dog 13 years ago when I was first married and I simply cannot afford to replace our carpet here in our own house! Enjoy her. Border collies are intelligent and active. I had one (actually the one who peed all over my carpet!) and took her to agility training. She just loved to run through the tunnels, jump over the walls and do tricks. She was such a healthy dog and so eager to please. My parents actually still have her. She is 13 years old now but has gone deaf.

SEF- Thanks girl {hugs} I need a kick in the pants every once in a while!

That is it for me. I have to get back to the boys now. Have a great weekend.

Hey all:wave:

Contrary to rumor, I haven't died, well, not technically! I feel like I'm dead without my computer but I'm actually still alive and kicking. I came over to my sister's house to use her computer after going to Eli's store tonight for his Friends and Family Night for the opening.

Anyhow, I've decided, come Sunday, do or die, I am going to find a friggin modem! I just can't be without a decent working computer!

I know this is short, but I'm ready to get home and leave my sister so her and her hubby can have some time alone since the kids are asleep, at least for now.

I will be in touch soon, promise!

Oh, WELCOME to the newbies on the board!!! STITCH, do they have WEGMANS in Syracuse? I LOVE THAT STORE!!!!!!!!!

Hi all!!:)

Finally a chance to post. Today I brought the WATP tapes to use when I don't want to do the treadmill. I think I will try them out tommorrow. I found them at the mall for $35 at this store that sells things from the infomercials on T.V. Believe me they have everything. My girlfriend at work said she ordered hers off T.V. and she paid $59.00 after shipping and handling. I guess I got a pretty decent deal. I'm working on becoming a bargain hunter like Deb.:)

Wow I have missed so much. I 've been trying to read the post everyday.

mcjonjon and Stitch-Welcome this is a great place to be and it is full of great people.

Tranquil- I'm praying that your foot gets better quickly and is better before you go to England.

Serene- I'm praying your ex to b- goes peacefully so you can move on with your life.

Bob-I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. How's the children :)

sef- we ha d a great time it was really a time for rest for me i read alot and we spent 1 day out shopping. The resort we stayed at had everything so the kids had a wonderful time. They had pools, arcades, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, and a wonderful restaurant. I was able to stay OP. I managed to mantain and I didn't gain. The food was free everyday for the kids so they had a ball. DH and I enjoyed it to.

Gracious- I'm glad you have pulled yourself back on the wagon. You have been an inspiration to me you see I got the tapes. ;)

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Deb- I'll be glad when your computer problems are fixed we sure miss you here
:)

Long time no post! Life has been crazy here, I just got a chance to skim the last week's posts. School here doesn't start for another 2 weeks and even ds is ready for summer to end. I'm still plugging along eating OP and lifting TONS of weights. My arms and legs and chest look great (I wear sleeveless now whenever possible!) but middle just won't budge. Think it's hormonal/age related. My body fat is dropping but it all seems to be relocating, too- right to my middle. Very, very depressing. Makes me want to give up, but what are the alternatives? Get soft and flabby everywhere again?

Red1- Hope you are feeling better

Bob- Sorry about all your recent friends and family misfortunes. It all does seems to have clumped up on you. Hope your mother is coping well (and you too!),

Jenn- Boy, a new puppy, new house, new hubby! Go for it all at once, girl! Be sure to train that critter really well and KEEP IT BUSY! Border collies are such wonderful dogs, but go crazy of they are cooped up without something to do. They take really well to agility training and competition- lots of fun if you have the time.

Welcome newbies! This is a great WOE and a wonderful community (tho I'm mia more often than not).

McJonJon- As far as I can see, the creamer is NOT legal. Corn syrup and solids are illegal in any quantity. I'm a hardliner on this, but I think the faster you get the sweet taste out of your system, the better you will succeed. I use about 2 tablespoons 1% milk in my coffee. If you NEED a sweentener, try a little splenda or stevia. Once you stop using sweeteners, you'll be amazed at how sweet real food begins to taste.

Deb- Hope you solve your computer problems! What are they exactly? We have a whole room full of spare computer parts that dh won't get rid of because someday they might be useful. What exactly do you need? (if you can get on to answer this!).

Tranquil- Do as the Dr. says! You don't want to still be hurtin in England!

Anybody heard from frog or solshine lately?

Good Morning All:

After a wonderful good night's sleep, I was up and bouncing on the scale - at a better weight of 246.5! Monday was 249!

So, I thought I would share what I have done -I only allow 2 diet sodas a day, and then trying unsweet tea without any artificial sweetener, and then I have been eating 3 meals a day with a few snacks in between - so I am eating more - and the pounds are coming off :) More fiber foods, less fat....

Deb - get that modem fixed - we miss you!!!!!!!! Awww you got to see your sister's baby - she is so cute!!!! Well so was your other niece that has those bouncing blonde curls and the big elfish smile that means trouble - hehehehe - Say Hi to your Sister for me!!!!

Mercy - good for you finding the tapes at a good price - I wish I could do them with you!!! Also, thank you for sending your prayers about the foot

Gracious - that is great that you got the dishwasher hooked up - sounds like a fun time with the boys - I envy your having that time with them... there are days when mine is so grown up acting and I wish for the time we had when he was little!

Sef - You sound like the busy woman with your decorating! I bet you are excited about your trip back east! I look forward to my vacations so much! Even when they are mini ones, I always have to have some kind of trip planned.... Meanwhile, I am very excited about the trip to London.... If my foot is still bothering me, the more excuse I have to hop into those wonderful Black Cabs with the drivers that call you Ducky!!! :D

Jenn - Congrats on the new furbaby!!!!!! Oh the fun of waiting for the closing to move along~ You need to get your tushy back on that wagon, especially with the surgery and wedding coming up!!!! Remember, you can do it, this woe is just too easy!!!!

BOB - I honestly don't know where you get the strength and patience to deal with all those kids, I have a hard enough time just dealing with the two cats in my house who are at this moment telling me that their food is not fresh enough!

Red1 - Ewww Peuweeeey - When Florida was having its fires for the past few years it was awful, I feel for you! Just the allergies alone and asthma attacks from the smoke is enough to kill the toughest! Along with the fear! Hope you are feeling better.... and healing up!

Gator - Ouch on the stress fractures! Right now they have me scheduled for the bone scan on Thursday with orders to only walk when necessary....well, Serene is going to look for her crutches for me...the xray did not show anything - which the doctor had expected, saying that bone scans show the hairlines and stress fractures - wish they had just had that done first! Meanwhile I am to take tylenol and motrin alternated every 4 hrs. I will be listening to the doctor and staying off of it as much as possible .... though I am not one to want to sit around....
The butterflies sound wonderful!!!!

Fillise - I am with you on the sleeveless! Ahhhh - I was brushing my teeth yesterday morning when I thought I better be careful because I will take flight! But there are so many wonderful sleeveless outfits - but no way!!!!

Welcome McJonJon! About creamer - I don't want to use it because of the corn syrup and so I use skim milk - and if I feel like really indulging, I get half n half, and I put things like cinnamon in my drink for the extra flavor....

Stitch - Welcome!!!!! I am right there with you on the tomatoes and cucumbers - I have been stuffing cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, fresh herbs, and feta cheese in whole wheat pitas every day now at meal time - love it!!! and I am losing!!!! 12 Grand kids - that is a handful!!!! I am staying away from Splenda - when I found it the weightloss was slowing down, and now it is picking back up.....

Quilter - Hope you are enjoying your weekend! England: This will be my second trip to London, but my first trip to Bath! We will be spending one night, two days in Bath.... But we are staying in a boutique hotel in Kennsington, and I am bringing my Gram and DS - DS went with me for his 11th birthday last year - this is an early birthday vacation for the 2 of them since we are going October, and their birthdays are November. I have friends as well that live there, but two are traveling the World at the moment (must be nice) and the others are professors for the University of London in Bloomsbury...child psychology...and they love my ds! The experience I had in London was one of graciousness, friendliness, and just a warm welcoming - and I miss it terribly!!!!! I will be happy just to sit on a bench in Hyde Park along the Serpentine and watch the geese and passerbys....

Country - I know I have missed you in my post - How are you!!!

Toni - How are you doing too!!!!!

JRed - How are you!!!!

Beth - DS came home with big news yesterday - he has a Girlfriend named Heather! What I love is when the friends call and gets on the phone with them and they sound just like girls with their talk about clothes, kids in their class, etc. - gossiping little hens! I am sure soon it will be a grunt, macho fest on the phone....

Okay I will end my post with an experience from yesterday:

After xray I ran to the Starbucks, and the guy at the counter said very loudly, "What a cute outfit, where did you get it?" hahaha.... OKAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, so I said MIAMI! Then he went into this whole thing about how everyone has to shop somewhere else, always far away where he cannot get to! OKAAAYYYYYYY, I am outa heya!!!!

Have a good weekend all - and stay OP!!!!

Howdy everyone

Saturday is HOT and gawgeous here in Alabama and I think I'm gonna cut the grass and catch some rays :)

Wendy - I work the swing shift. 2 days on Second shift, then 3 days on Third shift. It's confusing to my sleep schedule!! :) I'm hoping the BCP work too... for the first week I thought I was gonna throw them up, but it's getting much better. TOM lasted 7 days this month, and I'm hoping next month will show a change for the better :)

Sabrina - Take care of that foot!! My DS has a picture of his new little GF in his backpack. I sent him to school Friday with one of his baseball cards from this spring, so now they have pictures of each other! How cute is that. I plan to get it from him if they "break up" and see if I can collect all the pictures of his little girlfriends that I can. I think it's cute.

Well I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I'm off to get some stuff done, and then try and sneak in a nap before I head off to the midnite shift! :) See ya'll later

Mel - I am staying off of the foot as much as possible :) Dont give up!!! If your arms and legs and everything else but the middle looks great - you are doing a great job!!!!!!

Beth - that is a wonderful idea about the pictures of the girlfriends!!!!!

Gotta limp off now and check on kids....ds has friend over...

I'm sitting here in my new cushy office chair that I put together with my own two hands (and a little help from Miss Bell, of course). It sure beats the green plastic patio chair I have been using for the last few years!

I tried to respond to Jenn last night, but the computer wouldn't recognize me and I had to login--what's up with that?

Anyway. . .

Jenn--Don't give up! I've been there--recently--and yeah it sucks! But putting the weight back on sucks even more. If nothing else get off the scale and just commit yourself to healthy eating because you deserve to be healthy. Don't worry about whether you lose weight (you will). Throw the scale out and do it because it is the right thing to do. You can get through this surgery and then you have the wedding to look forward to! I know this is a stressful time, but sweetie please, you deserve the best!

BOB--Sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm glad your mom seems to be OK--hope everything went well with her laser stuff yesterday. If you have too many kids--you can send me a few--I've got a shed out back they can sleep in!

Sabrina--You are too funny! I was always self conscous when I was writing on the blackboard when I taught. Those wings could get really get to flapping!

Ok got to go clean up the box and all the mess from the chair. I don't think I even had any left over parts!

Just a quickie to check in and say "hey". It's a happening Saturday night here. DH decided to replace switches in some of the rooms. He's been cussing like a sailor which is not his way. More like MY way! LOL

Wanted to let you all know that we hit SKYLINE for lunch today. I had cheese coneys without the buns and they were DELISH!!! BOB we took a moment of silence for you and wished really hard that you could be there with us. But you didn't appear, so much for wishes. I was really proud of myself that I didn't have any of those yummy oyster crackers. Their latest dish is the SKYfries which look so wonderful and sinful. But we just stuck with the coneys. I felt a little silly asking for them without the buns, but I thought of how you all always say to ask for the food they way you want it, not the way it says on the menu. See how inspiring you all are.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get in a long post tomorrow. Take care.

Just checking in. I have had a pretty good week. I hopped on the scale yesterday, and I was down about seven pounds from Monday morning, when I weighed in after vacation. I still have no idea what the setting was on the scale before I left, and my sweet son in law 'fixed' it for me...grrr. I think I have taken care of any vacation poundage tho, and I am pretty happy about that. I am being really strict on the starchy carbs, and I think that is helping. I had kind of gotten lax, and had been eating as many as four or five some days.

SERENE: You better let me know when you come to Atlanta! I would love to get together.

MCJONJON and STITCH: Welcome! I hope you find all the support you need to succeed here! It is a great group!

BOB: I am sorry to hear about your uncle. Please accept my sympathy. Hope your mom is doing ok.

TRAN:I hope and pray your foot mends before you leave. It sure would be a bummer to be in England and have a painful time walking! I am jealous. Take lots of pictures, ok? I want to go to England pretty badly. Some day, I hope....

JENN: Motivation is a hard thing to recapture sometimes. One of the best motivational books I have ever read was Body For Life, by Bill Phillips. It is actually a combination of diet and body building, but his motivational chapter on getting started is the best I have ever read. Perhaps that would help you to get your focus back, and get back on the wagon. Fillise is right, you don't want to wander off and gain all you have lost back, then have to lose it again. For some of us, it is such a struggle! For me, weight loss is almost impossible. Four pounds a month is really good for me, but frustratingly slow. I push on because I don't like myself at this weight, and I know if I stop staying on program, I am going to gain, and all the hard work of losing will have been for nothing. I keep telling myself thin will feel better than any food tastes. Perhaps you can analyze and figure if you have triggers to eat things you should not that you can learn to control. Just don't give up! You will be happier if you don't.

I am tired, and achy. Time to hit the bed and catch some ZZZs. Nighty night!

This board is so responsive. I thank you all for your replies.

serene - yes, I'm about an hour from malden, dated a guy from there once upon a time. lol

meliris - thanks and you are right. I don't even put artificial sweetner in my tea anymore, but I don't care for coffee without creamer. milk just doesn't do it. I use the creamer for a sweetner evidentally. guess I just need to give up coffee if I can't drink it black. you're right about everything tasting sweet naturally, I have noticed that. About a week into SB I noticed that my sense of smell has really become acute and I don't seem to have the sinus trouble I had. who would've thought so many perks would come with what started as "dropping a few pounds" and has turned into a terrific WOE!

Have a great day everyone,

Hi Gang!

it's Sunday afternoon and I'm bored. We were going to a friend's pool, but is it rainy. We need it though. Guess I'll post and work out awhile. I need it!

Had a good weekend OP. Just don't know what's for dinner tonite.

\Monet. glad to hear you have dropped your vacation gain. Now just keep on going down. You can do it.

Red, it is so sad about the forest fires. Such a waste. I feel so sorry for those fighting those fires. I hope they get it out sooner than expected. Glad you are recoverying. Just take it easy. I am not someone to sit around either so I know you are getting bored. Do you like to read? Maybe in a little while you could do some are exercies or something like that. You are in my thoughts.

Bob, sorry about your uncle. Sad your mom can't attend the funeral. Hope she is doing better. You make me laugh with feeding those kids.

Jenn your new puppy sounds so cute. Motivation is a hard thing to get. But let me tell you thin is wonderful. I'm not there totally, but man is it a lot better than being where I was. The compliments are nice, but the main thing is I like myself so much more.I enjoy wearing and buying clothes now. I guess it all comes downs to what you really want. it took me a long time, but this is what I want more than something to eat. Monet had a good idea about motivation books or even tapes if you don't have time to read. My thought are with you. Maybe I can willyou some motivation. Good luck.

Sef, don't wear yourself out at the library or at home. Take it easy.

Gracious, sounds like you are having tons of fun with the boys. It is nice to spend some quality time with the kiddos. You can come to my house and unload my dishwasher. Never can find anyone who wants to unload it. LOL Glad you are riding high in that wagon.

Deb, glad to hear you are still kicking. Hopeyou get that modem soon. We miss you!!

Mercy, Sounds like a good deal on the tapes to me. I want to get the 3 miles one for times when the weather is bad. Good job on your eating.

Mel, It was so nice to hear from you again. I know what you mean about the middle not budging. I wonder if it will ever go down. And my legs. Theya re so squishy. They remind me of gords. Big at the top, taper to the bottom. LOL. I haven't worked out this week at all and boy can i tell it. Getting back in routine tomorrow.

tranquil, 2.5 lbs. WTG girl!!!. Eating more does help sometimes. Keep up the good work and stay off that foot.

Beth, hope you had a nice weekend. That's cute about your DS's girlfriend. Hopefully you will have a large collection of pics.

Fillise, Enjoy your new chair. What an accomplishment, putting it together yourself. Good advise to Jenn.

Quilter, Yum, coneys. Don't know what I'm fixing for dinner, but now I'm hungry.

Well, got to run. think I'll try to talk DH in going to the new Walmart. Exciting life isn't it. LOL

Enjoy the last of your weekend everyone.

A MESSAGE FROM DEB!!!

I heard from the fearless leader today and she has purchased a modem. Praise the lord on that one!!! Anyways, she asked me to check in with you all with that good news and to let you all know that she would be on later to start up Monday's thread. She just asked that we all be patient with her for just a little longer. As soon as this new modem gets in and working properly, she'll be back on with us. I reassured her that we truly understand her predicament. But we really do miss her.

Hope you all are having a great weekend. I'm doing well. Talk to you later.

Just wanted you to know I'm working on getting this terrible situation rectified. I'm hoping to be back 100% tomorrow, until then I'm going to get the weekly board started, at least start working on it so I can get it pasted up later this evening.

Hey everybody!

This will be short--it is almost 9:00 and supper is just coming out of the oven (yeah I know--it's after 8:00, buI had church meetings from 5:00 -8:00 and a client conferephone conference till now--and I'm about to STARVE!) I'm having baked salmon and butterbeans. yum.

I had a wonderful conversation with Deb yesterday! She is so much fun to talk to--and I feel new inspiration! She told me to tell you she's be back on the baord soon--but then I couldn't get on last night and I see she has her new modem! YEAH DEB!

Goo day today food wise. Tomorrow will be achallenge as I will be on the road early and then reeling from meeting to meeting. Will try to take some yogurt and some cashews for snacks.

OK got to go have dinner before it gets any later!

Susan

ps--BOB the kids all arrived just fine. I sent them out to the storage shed to bed down for the night. Belle was disappointed that Skeeter didn't come.
