Default Weighing yourself after a few rough days

I want to get my official end-of-November weight tomorrow, even though I'm terrified about what the past few days did to my diet (Thanksgiving AND a wedding).

I'm on WW, and I have pre-paid coupons for weekly weigh-ins. I missed last week's weigh in because of being so busy with the holiday and wedding, and I'll owe two coupons ($26 instead of $13, laaaaame) this week.

So, do I weigh in tomorrow, even though it'll be a bad weigh-in? Or do I wait until the end of the week since it'll cost the same and I can give myself a chance to soften the damage?

Weigh in.

The first time I did WW I would avoid weigh-ins and say, oh, I'll just do better next week - then next week would come, and I'd say the same thing, so on and so forth.

So my advice to you is weigh in - if you had a bad week, it'll be kind of a kick in the pants to get you back on track. I would always make excuses to myself oh, I didn't gain THAT much, it'll be fine - but I'd never know.

If you know, then that's a different story.

Who knows, it may be better than you think

I vote do it too. I'm not in WW, but I weigh in on Monday's and tomorrow's going to be rough (thank you, Thanksgiving...). But it's important to me to stay honest with myself - like, if I don't know my exact number, I can pretend that it's lower than it really is and trick myself into thinking I don't have to work as hard. Even if it's higher than you want, it's a good motivational tool for the next week!

I agree with Stellarose in that you should weigh in. Yeah it might be bad, but it might be a maintain also. Never know!

I agree! You should definitely weigh in. It will hold you accountable, and like the others have said, it might not be that bad! You might be pleasantly surprised!

I say weigh in too. I do it after a rough weekend even though I do my weigh ins fridays. But I need to know what the damage is.
Just a personal example - one weekend I gained 3 lbs and I had thought maybe 1. So I worked my butt off that week and friday weigh in I was the same weight as the week before.
If I didn't know how bad that weekend really went I would have been incredibly discouraged with no loss when in reality I lost those 3lbs again which is a good loss.

I would go ahead and weigh in and just not get too upset about the possible gain. I know that by the next weigh in I have usually lost the gain.

Thanks for the advice, everyone!

I did weigh in, and I gained a pound. I'm not even a little bit upset about this, though--after Thanksgiving and a wedding, I'm thrilled that the gain was that small!!!!

A pound isn't bad at all, now you know it was only a pound and can start stratagizing for next weeks weight in. Good luck!!!

Well now you know! I am also glad that you did weigh in because it is always better to know what you are facing, I think that sometimes I allow myself to believe I didnt gain if I dont actually look at the number. That can lead to a long slippery slope.
