Diva you are so funny! He is cute! But I am in LOVE with Justin Hartley on Smallville. *swoon* And they love to put lots of scenes with him shirtless, lol.

Sorry about the TOM cramps, mine are on their way out today thank goodness, but I feel your pain. I had to take a freebie for this week because I'm way bloated. I had a salt binge for the last 5 days.

Nixmom - Congrats on the marriage!!!!! Can't wait to see pics! Now - get back to boot camp missy!!! j/k! You deserved a little break to get married and enjoy it :)

Hope all you chickies have a great day!!!!!

Omg we must all be in sync ! i'm also due to get my period today or tommorow, i always get it every 28 days and today is the 28th day. no wonder i'm so bloated and i have gained 1.1lbs since last monday ! gah!! overnight gain!since yesterday i was at the weight i was last monday. so i'm guessing its water retention. i can literally see my tummy bloated. lol

i'm also going to take a freebie like Nella, good idea Nella! as i dont want to hurt the team. thats my last freebie though! so from next week onwards i gotta be SUPER careful!

we are allowed to have a total of 2 freebies right? 2 maximum correct?

i also have been binging and eating wayyyyyyyyyyyy over my calories. i've been a hungry monster! and just felt hungry all the time....and it didnt click until last night, till i checked my calender and realised today is my period due date. so i totally hear ya Nella!! you have company !

Thanks for making a week 10 thread Diva. and aww poor you about the cramps. i hear ya gf! i also get really bad cramps. get a hot water bottle and rest up sweetie that always helps me

Nella, you referring to Oliver Queen right? oooooh i totally agree he is such a hottie!!!!

Nixmom, a big congratulations on getting married ! thats super news :celebrate:

i got a blister on one of my toes from all the walking and running, so i'm gonna take a rest day from exercise tommorow. plus "they" say that you should rest every 3-4 days of exercise.
and today is my 5th day in a row that i've exercised.

i'm really bummed about my weight gain though, i was hoping for just maintenance. also i did over eat past few days, so probably fat gain and water weight combo! gonna be strict this week though!

I'm up 1 lb this week. TOM started today. LOL! I guess we are all in sync. That say that is true when women live together or work together but I never thought computing together would have an effect! lol!!

Sorry I haven't been around having lots of computer problems. THink I might have a virus. I promise to get the numbers out by Tues this week.

No workouts for me this week again Sciatic is back and it is awful. Been stretching but I am going to chiro tonite after work. Hope I get some relief.

Hope everyone is doing well I will catch up with personals later.

I think it's funny that we are all in sync, lol. Like Mary said, who would have thought through the computer the hormones would spread? hehe.

Mary - I hope your back feels better soon! DH has been having back pains lately, but he is too lazy to make himself an appt with the chiropractor, so he whines about it (typical male).

Echo - I hope the puffies go away soon! That's how I felt yesterday, just a big puff ball. And yes, Oliver Queen! He is so hot! If I ever saw him in real life I would melt into a puddle right there.

Add me to the list! I have been waiting for my TOM to arrive all week. I am so bloated and miserable, so I just wish it would hurry up and get here, lol. I took a freebie this week too.

Echo, I hope your blister heals quickly. Congratulations on being a runner-up for week 8!

Mary, I hope your chiropractor can give you some relieft from the sciatic pain.

Diva, is James Franco the actor who was in Spiderman and Freaks and Geeks? If so I agree he is cute and a good actor too!

Nixmom, congratulations on your marriage!

Retire, 2 lbs is great, congratulations! That is awful about the fire. I'm glad that the family is ok.

Nella, congratulations on being the biggest loser for week 8!

Also, congratulations to Sweet Scrumptious and Institches :cheer2:

Well, I better go get my workout done for the day.

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving?

I'll be at the inlaws/parents house. Not sure what the weight will do because I'm taking a rest week from exercise since I've been training pretty hard since June. I'm going to try and keep a close eye on my food though and hopefully the worst that will happen is maintaining.

Good morning everyone. I had a nice walk this morning. As soon as I walked out the door it was raining but it was just a quick shower that ended before I came to the end of our road so I didn't even get wet. The new walking shoes are working out great, too.

I've started doing counter push-ups and my arms and sides are sore. I did 50 on Sunday with no trouble, skipped Monday and did them this morning--OUCH! My arms feel hot as I type. Hahaha. I thought I was doing great and that the absence of upper body workout for the last 6 months didn't effect my performance. Was I wrong! But I'm guessing by this time next week I'll be pain free when doing them. My muscles will be as good as Popeye's by then. :D

Hey team! Had to take a freebie for last week. I fell off the wagon, ate way too much, and didn't exercise. Haven't got this new schedule figured out yet. I do good all day, but don't get a supper break so I'm starving by the time I get to eat and eat everything in site. And you can add me to the list of those dealing with TOM issues.

Diva

Idealmuse: What a cute little picture you've got there! We are doing the same ole same ole for Thanksgiving, which is just the 3 of us here and Jess doing most of the cooking, hehe! I love a man that cooks. Then the next day we start the moving process, so I'll prolly be weighing in early next week because I am not sure when our internet will be cut on at the new place.

Narnia: Every time I see a commercial for that movie I think of you. LOL! Sorry bout feeling miserable due to TOM. Sux being a girl sometimes huh?....I do think that James Franco was on Spiderman...not sure because I have not seen that, I've just seen the GH promo's and he looks pretty! hehe:D

Echo:I am so happy you are loving your little polar! I can't wait to get one now and congratz on being a runner up and a runner! I never got past week 4 on the c25K! Congratz to ALL of last weeks winners!!!:carrot: I have me a couple of walking buddies at the new place, so as soon as I get in over there, they go walking 2.5 miles every night around a track, so that'll be cool. One of the ladies is the neice of the woman selling us the house and she's also a work-mate of Jesse's, and the other is the new neighbor named EL. She's...interesting....

Mercy: Awesome going through the early change and not gaining weight! You go girl!!!!;)

Nixmom: congratz on your marriage! Did we see pics and I missed them???

Happening: Been missing you pretty girl!

So TOM has me all kind of worn down and I swear last night he MADE me eat Oreos! But I hated every single minute of it, I promise! :dizzy:

Y'all have a great day. I think it's gonna be chilly and rainy here. I hate days like this.:(

I am going over to my sister house:dizzy:, always a bad food day. My mother and I are the only ones on the family with a weight problem, hence no diet foods, just the traditional fare.

This year, I just might prepare a couple of veggie dishes for myself and my mother, plus have some turkey.

Hopefully the "willpower" gods will be working that day.:D

Hello chickies!!!!

Diva - The walking partners are exactly what you need! Yay for you!! And that stupid TOM. He made me eat cookies last week too.

Retired - I'm glad the new shoes are working out for ya! I was so glad when I got mine. Those pushups sound interesting, I'll have to try some :) Can't wait to see those Popeye arms!!

Happening - You went on your vacation right? How was it?

Bigmid - Sounds like it was just some retention. It'll be all gone soon!!

Dream - A schedule change will do that to you. It'll sort itself out.

Back on the low end of the yo-yo again. 167.8 this morning. This freaking decade has been awful for me. I've been back and forth for the whole month between 169 & 167. I've got 7.8 pounds to go before the end of the month to make goal. We'll see, lol.

I did make myself do JM's BFBM video last night. I can never get that last circuit done though. I've apparently been out of exercising too long because I had a rough time with it and my legs are owie today. But, I like that sore feeling. Makes me know I got something out of it. :)

Oh - Forgot about our Thanksgiving plans! We're heading to my MIL's house in the mountains. I'm having to cook most of the side dishes though. MIL is a bad cook, lol. My plan is to just have a spoonful of everything. I've never been a big eater on Thanksgiving. I think too many choices makes me shut down and not eat. I'm weird I know, lol.

Hi everyone. Just dropping in to say hello and hope u all have a nice holiday if I don't come back in before then. I have tons of computer work for our business to do plus I'm planning to cook 3 meals in a bit to last us about 3 days because I have two of my babies all day except 3 hours or so I have only one because Emily is in Pre K half a day, and I try to cook and take care of the house and animals in that time. Barely keeping up alot of the time. Joy!! Then at nite I have my 3 plus our exchange student and 3 nites a week they have karate, but at least football and soccer are done for now. One soccer game left. And baseball starts in March or so.. Hope I can lose at least 10 lbs by then. :sumo:

Mary, so sorry you are hurting again. Glad ur going to see a chiro. Should help, well I'd hope so at least.

Hi to each of you here. I am reading when I can and I'm laughing about everyone being in sync! That's funny, because my sis and mom and I were in sync when we lived or worked together but not other times. Funny that computing could do it too?? LOL!!! You never know!!

Well, you all take care, have a good one!! I'm still watching TBL and it's getting interesting. I was so sad when Abby went home, wasn't that her name? The sweet one who lost her family? I'm rooting for Shay some and Rebecca mostly, but I like most of them anyway. :)

Ok, bye for now!
Hugs, Selina

Hi everyone,

Diva - oreo's......yum but sorry about TOM
Nixmom - congratulations on your wedding and wow a 3min ceremony
Maryshady - sorry about TOM and the 1lb, I hope your back feels better soon
retiredone - popeye arms....LOL

Congratulations to Nella for being the biggest loser and to Echo, SweetScrumptious, and Instiches for being runner ups. Those were all good numbers you had.

Now I know I have no idea how the numbers are done or anything but our total team loss was 6.1lbs. The for winners total was 8.6 so I went into our weigh in thread to see if there were that many gains and so on. I came up with a -16.4 loss for the team. There were not that many gains posted. I'm sure that there is some sort of math I am missing but who knows. I added and subtracted from the 11/9 week.

Well I am off to get ready for work. Have a great week everyone.

This is from week 8. Not the week that just ended, but the previous one (weighin on 11/09/09) I don't believe that maryshady has calculated the stats for week 9 yet. If you don't hear from her in a couple of days let me know and I can give you the week 9 results.

Did you compare week 8 and 7? The results you are looking at are for week 8 (weighin 11/09/09) so you would need to compare them to the previous week (weighin 11/02/09) to get matching results. I was a little confused too when I saw that the biggest losers loss was greater than the team total, there were a few gains......sometime you just have weeks like that. I haven't done week 9 yet (maryshady has taken over for Blue Team, but I still like to keep up with it, but I think the 16.4 that you are coming up with is for week 9 (weighin 11/16/09).

What does it mean when you are working ABOVE you target heart rate???? It was like that the entire time I was on the Elliptical today. I even tried slowing down, which was hard because I was feeling it! :P

Idealmuse
11-17-2009, 09:40 PM
Diva those target heart rates targets aren't really that accurate, so your going above yours probably isn't a big deal. I think I read they were based on Heart patients numbers or something like that, so they are on the conservative side for a lot of people... but the only way to really know it to do testing because everyone's body is different.

If I tried to stay in the range suggested I'd never get enough of a hard workout. Seriously... I forgot what my range is but I just did a lactate threshold test for my biking and got an average of 170 for an all out effort of 30mins.

I'd listen to your body though if you feel OK at the rate your at you're probably fine and if you slow down just so you can sit in the "range" then you might not be burning as many calories as you would like.

That fat burning zone thing is a myth - You burn more fat overall at higher intensity it's just that the percentage of fat is lower but the overall calories from fat will still be higher. Besides who cares if you burn carbs? Unused carbs just get stored in the body if not used up! :)

Thanks Muse. I actually felt fine during the entire workout, and because I tried slowing down to try and get the heart-rate down some I felt like I was slacking. I wanted to do what I wanted to do and that dang heart rate thing was pi$$ing me off. LOL! What's funny is, I didn't have an asthma attack until AFTER I was done on that and was doing leg curls on the machine thingy. LOL! We did have a forest fire in the mountains yesterday though, so the air was bad.

Good morning everyone,

I want to let you guys know that I have asked to be taken off the Blue team. My goals are not in sync with the club here and I don't want to hurt your goals with my weigh ins.

My new focus is exercise and strength, so I have found a different site and groups that I think will help me reach my goals.

Hugs to all, and I wish you all the best in reaching your goals.

Hi everyone. Been so busy haven't had time to post. I tried to do the numbers today but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to work the spreadsheet. I emailed Monte and asked her to do it. If anyone else is interested in giving it a try just pm her and she will email it to you.

Haven't really been on plan all week. With TOM and no working out I feel out of the game. Chiro said I can start working out next week. Trying to watch what I eat but have not been counting cals or anything. I need to get my head on right. Just can't seem to get back to where I was at the beginning of the year. Well i'll stop complaining now.

Diva-hows the packing going?

 to everyone else

Half way thru the work week woohoo! I kinda like having my mornings off. I get my housework done during the week so my weekends are pretty much free to enjoy my kids and do fun things instead of having to do the housework. Just wish I didn't have to work so late. But I guess, we can't have it all. I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving, I'm not sure what we are doing yet, probably either going to my grandma's or my hubby's grandma's, either way we will be traveling. I can't wait for black Friday, one of my favorite days of the year. In line by 3:30, done shopping by 11, head home for a nap and then put up the tree up. Anybody else enjoy black friday? Well I'm off to exercise and get the laundry put away. Everyone have an op day!

Morning girls!

Dream - I love black Friday. I'm taking my SD this year, she's never gone. I usually don't put my tree up this early, but I think I will this year, but I need to re-arrange the living room first.

I think I've finally broken my mini-plateau. Down again this morning to 166.2. I had a goal of making it to 160 by the end of the month, but not seeing that happen unless some miracle occurs.

Have a great day everyone!!

Dream - I love black Friday. I'm taking my SD this year, she's never gone.

Dream and Nella-I love black Friday. I get more excited about that than Thanksgiving:D Around here Toys R Us is starting at 11 pm Thurs. We are thinking of having an early dinner, dessert, then naps and starting at 11! Can't wait.

Our plans for Thanksgiving are the same as every year. My family comes to my house. All of my kids, my sis & bro, and this year my dh sister and niece are coming in from Arizona so that should be fun. I make the turkey with all the fattening trimmings. We also get together to bake our pies on Wednesday. My sis's b-day is on Thanksgiving so I am making dinner and a cake on Wednesday night too!

Mercy03 left and she was one of our biggest losers? I'm not sure how she thought she was going to disappoint us. While the whole "game" thing is fun seriously aren't we more here to cheer each other on? Personally I don't care if someone has a few bad weeks. It's life!

I had a particularly bad food day myself. I think I'm somewhere at 2500 or so if not slightly more. I did ride my bike/trainer today for an hour and 15 mins but I don't think it was enough to cancel out my bad behavior. I'm not weighing in next week though I'll be out of town so hopefully it won't show up 2 weeks from now. Heh.

Hope Everyone has a good Friday!

Mary-WOW! 11pm thats dedication are there other stores that open between 11 and 4? I think the earliest store round here opens at 4. Having the family around is nice isn't it. I'm hoping that my family will be able to come home for Thanksgiving, should find out Saturday.

Nella-How fun taking your SD out for the first time. I can't wait til my DD is old enough go. I know what you mean about rearranging for the Christmas tree. I'm running out of room in my living room I don't know how I'm going to make it all fit. Congrats on breaking the mini-plateau.

Institches-glad you enjoy coming here. You should post more, we like hearing from you.

Well I best go get the kids ready everyone have a great day.

Mercy03 left and she was one of our biggest losers? I'm not sure how she thought she was going to disappoint us. While the whole "game" thing is fun seriously aren't we more here to cheer each other on? Personally I don't care if someone has a few bad weeks. It's life!

Hope Everyone has a good Friday!

I think Mercy03 is about down to her goal weight, and so was switching her focus from weight loss to maintainance/strength training. I understand her not wanting to slow the team down, but I for one love to see people who have made it to goal (sometimes I feel like it is impossible) and would love for her to stick around. But she needs to do what is best for herself.

I'm up 1 lb this week. TOM started today. LOL! I guess we are all in sync. That say that is true when women live together or work together but I never thought computing together would have an effect! lol!!
LOL thats so cute!!! it is really funny how we're all on TOM
I think it's funny that we are all in sync, lol. Like Mary said, who would have thought through the computer the hormones would spread? hehe.
heheheheheh exactly it is funny :D

Echo - I hope the puffies go away soon! That's how I felt yesterday, just a big puff ball. And yes, Oliver Queen! He is so hot! If I ever saw him in real life I would melt into a puddle right there.

thanks Nella!! lol at big puff ball lol!! exactly!
aww i know he is a hotty!

Add me to the list! I have been waiting for my TOM to arrive all week. I am so bloated and miserable, so I just wish it would hurry up and get here, lol. I took a freebie this week too.

i know how you feel!! :hug:lol at you expecting TOM aswell this is getting spooky! hehehe

Echo, I hope your blister heals quickly. Congratulations on being a runner-up for week 8!

aww thanks so much !:D

I've started doing counter push-ups and my arms and sides are sore. I did 50 on Sunday with no trouble, skipped Monday and did them this morning--OUCH! My arms feel hot as I type. Hahaha. I thought I was doing great and that the absence of upper body workout for the last 6 months didn't effect my performance. Was I wrong! But I'm guessing by this time next week I'll be pain free when doing them. My muscles will be as good as Popeye's by then. :D
wow impressive!!

Hey team! Had to take a freebie for last week. I fell off the wagon, ate way too much, and didn't exercise. Haven't got this new schedule figured out yet. I do good all day, but don't get a supper break so I'm starving by the time I get to eat and eat everything in site. And you can add me to the list of those dealing with TOM issues.

i hear ya! i also am good and then get so hungry that i eat everything, even just standing up!

Echo:I am so happy you are loving your little polar! I can't wait to get one now and congratz on being a runner up and a runner! I never got past week 4 on the c25K!

aww thanks Diva, you're so sweet!! wow you made it to week 4, thats really impressive! i'm still on week 2 lol!!

thats awesome you have walking buddies! :running:

So TOM has me all kind of worn down and I swear last night he MADE me eat Oreos! But I hated every single minute of it, I promise! :dizzy:
hehe i know i hear ya gf!! mm love oreos especially dunking em in milk. havent had oreos in a very long time!:p:p:p

Back on the low end of the yo-yo again. 167.8 this morning. This freaking decade has been awful for me. I've been back and forth for the whole month between 169 & 167. I've got 7.8 pounds to go before the end of the month to make goal. We'll see, lol.l.
me too!! i've been losing and gaining the same few pounds over and over again these past 7 weeks and i realised today WHY. i looked over my food journal. and have realised i've been having very high calorie BINGE days 2/3 days a week !
i have got to get a control over my binge eating. i've realised im a binge eater and over eater. so im gonna try to go "clean" for 26 days. 26 days because thats the number of days till my cousin from america comes to stay with me for a few weeks, and we have a competition going hehe. i want to get down to at least 155lbs before she comes.

so today is a brand new day and im wiping the slate clean! im holding myself accountable and added it to my signature as motivation. i might even have a look over at the over eating threads/forums.

also im gonna aim to eat around 1400/1500 calories and get my calorie deficient through exercise. i've tried eating 1200/1300 calories, i do it for a couple of days then the next day i overeat. so its not working for me. and plus jillian always says when you only have the last 20lbs to lose, eat your BMR calories and workout hard!

i also ordered her book "making the cut" this morning :cb: :cb: :cb: i thought i needed something to kick me into high gear!

i cant afford a full gym membership at the moment, so will only be able to do the exercises that i can do without equipment - but i can go to a local very simple gym and pay about £6 for each session- so i might do that like once awhile for a change..

Congratulations to Nella for being the biggest loser and to Echo, SweetScrumptious, and Instiches for being runner ups. Those were all good numbers you had.

aww thanks Bigmid! :D

Hugs to all, and I wish you all the best in reaching your goals.

awww going to miss you Mercy!! good luck with your new goals!!

wow 13lbs lost last week. well done team!! im glad i took a freebie so i didnt hurt the team

aww thanks thats nice to hear- especially since i keep having bad weeks. but i agree its nice that we're here to support each other. i agree, mercy did great! going to miss her on the team.

Heh. hehe good on ya for riding your bike to cancel it out.

HA! I've been in maintainance mode for a year. Unfortunately, it's not at the Weight I want it to be at! LOL!:D:

LOL !! thats so funny! and exactly how i felt this morning !! i've been in maintenance mode for 2 months but 20lbs above my goal weight. time to buckle down and get REAL serious

You know where to find me, and I will still be around, so I am sure I will run into somewhere.

Miss you:hug::hug:

Good Morning Blusers!! I finally feel back in the game today. My sciatic pain is gone but now my back hurts. Probably shouldn't have gone to the chiro. I am not really suppose to have any manual manipulation due to spinal stenosis in my neck. But I can live with a sore back. Just keeping a heating pad on it.

Congrats to our winners this week!
Idealmuse - 4.0lbs (2.07%)-Way to go!!!:carrot::carrot:
mebhealthy - 2.8lbs (1.83%):bravo:

That is me to a tee. I started in January doing this BL challenges at 184.5 got down to 172 in April then dh got sick and had to have 6 months of treatment and it really threw me for a loop. But I am tired of the excuses. I am an emotional eater who eats way too much. I did OA at one point in my life and it really helped I just didn't stick with it. But I think it is time again to realize I have a real problem with food. If working out could get me thin I would have been there years ago. I love working out but I always disqualify what I do by overeating. I'm with you on the clean eating. I am starting it tomorrow since I already had a sticky bun today. I want to stay with it until the 12th of Dec when we leave for Disney.

Mercy-Hate to see you go. You are always so funny. Wish you the best and I know you will reach all of your goals!

I love visiting here daily, I might not post very often, but I find so much to take away with me, and apply to my day. I think when I'm struggling, I need to get here all the more. Everyone has their reasons, and I wish them well.

Come & post more often. Love hearing from you.:D

Morning girls!

I think I've finally broken my mini-plateau. Down again this morning to 166.2. I had a goal of making it to 160 by the end of the month, but not seeing that happen unless some miracle occurs.

:congrat: on breaking that plateau.

Just checkin' in real quick to say hello! Life is crazy and awesome and hard and all over the place. Just doing the best I can to keep working on towards all my goals!

Glad married life is treating you so well!!:D

dream710 - Well the 15k was on Nov 1st - it went well... the big BIG race isn't until next September. :)

:bravo: on running a 15K! Awesome accomplishment.

Mary-WOW! 11pm thats dedication are there other stores that open between 11 and 4? I can't wait til my DD is old enough go.

I think we are just going to the 11 pm sale then home for some sleep until 4 or 5 when most of the other stores open. It will be so much fun to go with your dd. We have been going for about 3 years now. Actually we all go. My sis, niece, my two dd, my ds & his fiance. Then we all meet up for breakfast around 8. My dh used to go when the kids were little but now it is too much for him. Men!!! lol!

Good evening Blue Team. I'm so far behind I'm not doing personals but I've read every single post. But I will mention that I'll miss you Mercy.

I've been too tired to post the last week. Taking care of Baby, even if it's just a few hours a day, has got me wiped out in the evenings. I'm feeling my age and not liking it one bit. Fortunately, I'm still getting in my walk in the mornings and I'm eating on plan. I weighed in this morning but didn't lose anything this week and that's how it goes some weeks. I've already lost 14 pounds since this challenge started and I'm hoping to lose at least 2 more by the end.

Oh, and before I forget, congratulations to week 9's Biggest Loser and Runners-up. Well done.

Must go do my push-ups before I flake out on the bed.

Have a good weekend, all.

Aw, thanks Retire. I'll still be here, just not part of the group. I'll be on the fitness and strength side if you care to come on over for some dares and exercises:D.

Thanks for being so kind and a wonderful motivator for me:hug:
