Week 3 girls!!! How's it going!? Ewww, it's not pretty for me but my rationalizaions/excuses are comin.
WEEK 1: 248
WEEK 2: 247
WEEK 3: 252
Yep up, but here goes. I did eat poorly, mostly but not completely on plan yesterday but Saturday was a disaster and Friday and Thursday before that was slipping slowly.
But the big difference was we got a new scale!!!! We were getting annoyed that our home scale weighed us less than my gym scale and his work scale. So we got a kind of fancy one (from Walmart) but it measures your BMI, bone density, hydration level and fat %. I know, who kind of cares about all those numbers and how accurate are they really? But still. It's kind of cool to have a new one.
And today is the day I hear from the nursing board, thanks for the well wishes on the last thread, I'll pop back in later and let you all know what happens!!!
W- 3-4 liters 1 liter done
E- GYM. RIGHT. NOW. I am dressed, no excuses. Go there!
E- Fiber one and strawberries done, gym now so post workout snack can be Special K protein bar, lunch I think is Subway and apples. Snack will be veggies and FF ranch dip (If I need snack before dinner, or will be snack at bedtime) dinner.....hm. I should reheat last weeks pork pot roast/veggies. maybe sweet potatoes.
D- Fingers crossed. My life may change today. And so can yours. xo
Oh yea, and I'd love you all to post one healthy Thanksgiving dish. I'm aiming to make my own all-healthy Thanksgiving for my family. I'll post mine later. Love to all. xo Michelle

Michelle, Thanks for starting the thread. My fingers are crossed for you. The last time I got a new scale I had to increase my weight 5 pounds.
:turkey:
Week 1: 144
Week 2: 141
Week 3: 143
Ugg I am irritated with my scale today. TOM is on its way, I did not eat the greatest this weekend, plus I am still sore from the spinning class. I will get back to 139 which is where I was Tuesday-Friday last week.
I didn't make it to class this morning. It seemed that my entire family had insomnia last night. I will head over at my normal time and do my normal workout.
W 120 oz
E 60 minutes

Okay chickies... back on track for me!
Week 1 ~ 198.8
Week 2 ~ 197.4
Week 3 ~ 197.6 :(
I have been experiencing a light but consistent mid-cycle TOM for 2 weeks now. Supposed to really start on Friday. Gonna call the doc today to see if I should be freaking out. I racked it up to stress, exercise, food changes. But its not going away.
Nchellie ~ I have the same kind of scale... and I used the extra measures for about a week... but all the beeping in the morning from it would make hubby nuts (I just typed hubby :D). Any who... I do like it though. AND super duper fantastic loads of luck today!!!!
Jen~ I fell pray to naughty eating too these last 5 days. Lets dust ourselves off and get to those numbers! I am still shooting for 180's by the end of the challenge!
Its my last week of bootcamp and I am TERRIFIED to go back tonight. But I'll be there. Gotta scrounge up the money to go for another 6 weeks!
K off to work. Will check in later!

I never used the quick reply feature, here goes. I just got back from the gym and instead of doing my workout, I went to the aerobics class!!!! It was a low impact, beginners step class. Some weights, some resistance band, probably hit every muscle group. So I'm feeling great!!! Need to shower, dress and meet my AA sponsor for lunch and a meeting. House needs cleaned and no, I haven't heard anything yet from Columbus. Love you all!!! Personals later.xoxoxoxoxox

Hey Ladies -
Michelle - keeping my fingers crossed for you today!
Popcorn - WTG on the losses!
Well my DH is out of town all week for work so I really need to keep the stress/boredom eating at bay. I truely love my children, but having them alone for the whole week while working full time - I think I may need a mental break (aka pedicure and afternoon away) when my DH gets back.
W - 80+ oz
E - does collapsing on the couch in exhaustion count?
E - 1200-1300 cals
D - patience, this is going to be a long week and it's only day 1
I haven't posted my weight b/c I'm actually up from when I started (165!!!) TOM is coming up this weekend but still...no excuses right? Keep up the great work girls!

Today is a good day. I kind of helped a friend get a much needed job. All I did was tell her about the place and she swears I'm her hero. :o I'm looking to do a transfer. More money and more training. If things keep going this way, all my Texas friends will be working in the same call center as me. Things are looking up, I am hopeful.....:halffull:

Week 1- 181
Week 2- 177.8
Week 3- 178
Hey, this week is pretty much the same as last week. It's okay since it is mid-cycle time. I just don't want to see it go over the dreaded 180. I have got to stay under this month so I can make some progress. Last month I lost and gained the same 4 pounds.
My little dragonfly on my ticker hasn't moved in a long time. 175 would be really nice.
Michelle- I am sending all my best wishes your way. Good job on the class.
Nix- Hubby?? Sound funny??? You better sign up for the next bootcamp. Look, you are under 200.

Nix- or should I say Mrs. Nix/ Great job on getting back to bootcamp!
Popcorn- WTG on the loss! You have done amazing in 3 weeks? And again you are proof of how journalling works!
JCat- We went through a couple of insomnia nights last week. Torture.
Nurse- Any news? I love step aerobics- my favourite exercise
Emiloots- I like your idea of self care. I have two toddlers too.
Mtig- WTG on the loss!

I must have skipped over the step part in Nurse's post earlier but I saw Grazer's post about step aerobics and started laughing. It must be step day.
That is what I did today too when I was in a funk about what to do with the rain. It was an old workout on DVD that I felt like I was revisiting an "old friend" so it did not seem so hard working out today when I really didn't feel like it.
Nurse we are thinking good thoughts for you.

Hiya ladies. We survived a storm that blew through last night. Lucky for us we didn't even lose power. We had 50 mp winds with 75 gusts. It was crazy second storm like that in 12 hours.
I hope the gym has power :) I will be heading over there at 830. Kids have well child checkups today at 2. then home for swim lessons :) hurray.
Michelle, we are waiting to here from you.
W 80 oz
E 60 minutes
E 1200 clean cals
D fold a little laundry.
Workout is done. What is wrong with me, the workout I used to do in august that was getting too easy for me kicked my booty today. I am guessing that it is because I have increased my workouts so much that my muscle are just tired. Or is it my mind? I was getting in 3.25 miles in a workout with no problem, but now I struggle with just 3.11 (5k) whats up with that?
DH weighed in today and he has lost 2 pounds :carrot: We both have 9 pounds to lose before our next disney vacation (march 15 :) ) So we are going to start competing. Me knowing full well that if he commits to his diet (he works out everyday already) he will lose it fast, and I am down to my last 9 so I will lose it slow. We are going to compete for a big screen plasma tv or a second and third trip to disneyland. (this will all come sometime in the summer after we have saved up te $$). I have practice on my side so wish me luck!!!

W 64 didn't do well yesterday but i'm going to do it today
E pretty good but last night i didn't have dinner and ended up having a big snack late at night (not the best)

Well my weigh in is a little late this week. I normally have an official weigh in on Mondays but I had to stay at my boyfriend's house Sunday night so that I can babysit his sister's baby Monday (his sister had her gallbladder removed). So my official weigh in is today, and no suprise here, it stayed the same (175). I'm actually surprised I didn't gain. I didn't do to great with keeping track of calories toward the end of last week, and TOM should be coming tonight or tomorrow. I haven't been feeling good since last night, but I'm still gonna try to get some kind of exercising in. Hopefully they'll be a good loss next week!
Goals for Tomorrow:
W - 64 oz
E - 30 minutes on Wii in the morning, and walking 2-3 miles in the afternoon
E - 1400 calories
D - Take medicine and drink some hot tea for throat (I have a bad habit of not taking medicine no matter how bad I feel, I just don't like it lol)

Yesterday's WEED went well. Although I chose to mall walk due to the rain but I logged approximately 4 miles.
e32 - In response to your question about what I am doing for my weight loss, I have been taking a Biggest Loser mentality to up my weight loss. What I mean by that is in the past I have always counted calories and increased my water intake along with exercising. But I realized that to shed so many pounds on the biggest loser they are working out a crazy amount of hours a day; almost like going to a job. So I thought rather than do 30-45 minutes of cardio a day what would happen if I set myself more towards 60-90 minutes of cardio a day. Not quite as intense as the Biggest Loser obviously but more than I would normally do. When I told this to my husband he told me that a gal he used to work with lost a lot of weight while dieting by going to the gym 2-3 hours a day. Certainly, most people's schedules wouldn't allow for that. I just thought that if I could up the intensity during this month just to kick start me then maybe I would stick with my diet. I expect that I will slow down this week on the weight loss and was really surprised to see so much on week 2.
Today's WEED -
W - 64 oz.
E - 30 minutes of cardio
E - 1200 - 1300 calories
D - ironing
Have a good day everyone.

Popcorn, I like your weightloss stategy. It really is a good one, it shows.
I don't have a lot of time for personals, I have to head off to drop Makenna off at school. Makenna's visit was okay. She is healthy and perfect and smart, everything you want to hear from a doctor. The pediatrician is new to us, ours retired last December and she took over the practice. This was the first time we had a well check up with her (first time Tommy saw her at all). Anyhow, I'm bothered that she told me that Mak is going to be an overweight teenager based on her growth chart and I need to put her in more activities. I told her we are in swimming, gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do. . .whatever else we are in at what time of year. I feel very defensive, but what if she is right? She is not height/weight proportionate, 75th percentile/84th percentile. She also told me she wants to keep a very close eye on her for diabetes, my old doctor would NEVER freak me out like this. He was my ped when I was a kid and very very practiced. Ok I got it out I am fine. I am not changing anything, she is very healthy and not overweight at all. breathe breath (Tommy BTW is in the 97th percentile for height and weight. very proportinate) Gotta run be back

popcorn--it does sound like a good plan, i'm so glad that you're seeing good results. last winter i did 2x a day workouts for a month and also saw good results...it's just hard to keep up with. i'm still going to try for that again once it gets colder (i'm actually more likely to go the gym when it sucks outside) :) thanks for sharing
jeni--that's really frustrating what your doc was saying about your daughters weight. everyone grows at different rates. if she's eating healthily, and playing actively, she's going to grow up into a healthy teenager and adult. i'm glad you're taking it in stride--i'd be annoyed too. your workout sounds good though :)

Getting ready for yet another big storm tonight. Okay not that big, but ready just in case. I rarely lose power, but 2 years ago we had a terrible storm that left us without power for two days (that was good most people were out for a week). So I am staying prepared just in case.

I miss a day and can't hardly catch up. I went out with co-workers last night, so didn't have time for anything. It is mid-cycle gain time and I DO NOT want to see 180 again. I was 179.8 today. Hopefully it will start going back down now. It has been up for several days.
Don't remeber who it was, but they said they lose about a pound a week. I am lucky if I get 2-3 pounds a month. And the last 2 sucked. It is definetely harder the smaller I get. I might have to try that 2 hour workout routine myself.
I am trying to be an understanding, loving mom these days. Dealing with this issue is very difficult. I am working very hard at it. It will be a long road.

so, for most of you, it's tomorrow (thursday). i'm writing this before bed, wednesday night :)...
jeni-you're so right. the first step out the door to the gym is the hardest. i didn't end up going today. :( at first i was mad at myself, but it's over now. i WILL go tomorrow. it's just strange because it isn't like me to not go. a day can't turn into 2 days etc...it's just a day. and i'll go tomorrow. am i repeating myself? well...that's because i have to go tomorrow! :)
mindy-i feel like that too when i miss a day-hard to catch up! happy to see you though. i'm with you, 2-3 pounds a month is a good month...wish i could get to that 1lb a week stride...i'm glad you are working to be patient and loving towards your daughter...no matter the situation, that's a positive.
zoo-glad you still got a walk in, but if you aren't feeling well, take care of yourself and REST if your body is telling you to :) take care.

E-start with a good breakfast...i've been neglecting this

Good Morning.
Yesterday's WEED went just okay. I wanted to get out a second workout in and do my daily goal of ironing but by the time we got out of our volunteer work and got home I was exhausted and not feeling well. So I got nothing done.
Today's WEED -
W - 64 oz.
E - 30 minutes of cardio
E - 1200 - 1300 calories
D - hopefully some ironing
I will only have time for one workout today as I go to the grocery store before work on Thursdays to take advantage of a great $10 discount if you buy $50 worth of groceries. If I go later in the day I spend twice as long just standing in line.
I am still feeling a little out of sorts and my finger is bothering me. I hurt it last year and I think it is arthritis starting because it bothered me forever. It started again yesterday so I am sure it is the change in weather.

Michelle- That is so AWESOME!!! I am so happy for you. You've come a long way baby. You have worked hard and deserve this. I look to you for stength more than you know.
Jeni- At this point I would be thrilled with a 2 pound loss for Nov. I really have been stuck for about 2 months. Just keep hovering around 180. Up and under.
Work is driving me crazy. So much crap going on with kids it is ridiculous. Thank God we have only F, M, Tu and then a nice long break. I need it so much.
Just did Jillian's Shred. Haven't done it in a while and I used 5 pound weight. Man, do I feel it. Let's see if I can manage to get down a tad before weigh-in tomorrow.

 Hey you fabulous girls! Thanks for all the encouragement! This bootcamp thing definitely seems to be the ticket for me at the moment. I also enjoyed wearing a pair of my 14 jeans today.... sweet victory... even if I dont win the free camp.
Quick personals then off to bed!
Mtiggie - Big hugs. Big confidence. Eternal strength. You have it in you, just when you feel like your depleated, the mom in you will find more. And that pesky midcycle.... temporary. Hope you are taking some time to love yourself through all this. You're pretty dang amazing.
Nchellie - Celebrate good time COME ON! Lets Celebrate!!! :carrot: I'm doing my happy dance for you. You have battled, and come out victorious. All you girl. You deserve the best!
Jen - was looking at your pics on FB and your kids make me grin ear to ear. They are beautiful!!!!
Emiloots - I wanna squish your boys cheeks in your avatar. They remind me of that innocent little boy I had that is now tripping the planet as a 20 year old. :)
HT - haven't forgotten your food list... just finally getting to settle back down. Will have it to you this weekend!
e32, tiara, popcorn, shari :hug::hug: I will come back tomorrow and catch up with you girls. Keep it going girls!

Hey Mindy :)
The Shred kicked my butt when I tried it. I took it to work with me to share with other coworkers and the little doodad that holds the dvd in the case was broken and apparently it scratched the heck out of the disk. I *might* be able to use it if I run it through a disk doctor, but if not then I'll have to go get another copy.
Food hasn't been fantastic today, stomach's loopy right now, probably was lunch but I can't be sure of that.
Been getting close to goal on my water which is a bonus :)

 :carrot: Michelle!!!!! Hurray for you! I am so happy for you!
Amy~Glad you had fun in Tahoe. Great job on getting in your water.
Emily~I'd be going crazy by now without my DH. I hope you get in some Mommy time when he gets home.
Popcorn, I wish I saved $10 for spending 50. I cant leave the grocery store without spending 100 (each week). Keep up your good work, you really are kicking it!
Mindy~I absolutely hate those stinking plateaus. Its irritating when you work hard, watch what you eat and nothing. Just remember, you control your exercise, you control your food, you control your drink. . . .The scale well it has a mind of its own. Keep working for a healthier you even if the scale isn't cooperating.
Ella~I'm so glad you made it to the gym!
Tiara~I hope you get the loss you are looking for. I hope you enjoy new moon. I won't be able to see it until Friday (our break in the crazy day of black friday shopping) I love the books.
Kris~ Sorry you didn't win a free bootcamp, but man woman 12 pounds in 6 weeks is absolutely great! Are you doing it again? Thanks for the comments on my kids, they have been so good lately (hmmm Santa Claus is coming? I wonder if that is why?)
Zoo~I hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

:) Yesterday I had Makenna's first first grade conference. Her teacher told me that she has the best in front of a group communication skills of any student she has ever taught. :) She uses her as a class room leader a lot. She also gets to help explain to the class how to use a calender to count down to things. I was so proud of my daughter :)
Swim lessons went very well. Tommy is improving every day!
My work week starts today so I am hoping to see a new low on Monday.

Good Morning all!
Yesterdays WEED - I didn't get my Daily goal in for the second day in a row. Can you tell I don't want to iron? Any way I did get a huge day of exercising in - 5.5 miles!
Jeni - you should be very proud of your daughter.
Thanks for the words of encouragement all of you. I really am having a hard week. I swear I will never get on the scale more than once a week because I find it de-motivates you if there is a lot of flucuation. In any case, I did it anyway Wednesday and today. And I SHOULD know better because despite my sticking to my calorie plan every day and doing at least 30 but more often90 minutes of aerobic activity every day I am STUCK.
Personally I think my body is fighting this - thinking it is starving - so my metabolism is resisting. BUT I refuse to give in here - I will stick with this the best I can and maybe tomorrow I will see a half pound loss for the week.
Next week someone remind me to STAY away from that darn scale. Maybe I should have my husband hide it until Saturday morning.
Today's WEED -
W - 64 oz.
E - at least 30 minutes aerobic activity
E - 1200-1300 calories
D - get some chore done around the house that needs to be done
Here's to a good WEED day for everyone.

Well. If food was drugs and alcohol, I just could not stay sober!!! I've been on a slow slide for awhile now. I just have to change my mindset. I keep thinking about how my life will change WHEN. When I get a new job, when I get thin, When, when when. Why not now!?
Then I read something somewhere, I want to say Fitness magazine, and I skimmed over it but, this stuck out for me. If you tell someone else that, say, you are training to run a marathon, they'll say WOW, how great for you, that's so awesome, etc. etc. and carry on. Then you get this boost of self confidence, the validation that you ARE a runner. Then basically you slip off of your plan, because basically, you already got a reward for "being a runner" without doing all the work.
And I think I do that too, if I lose a few pounds or some inches and people start to notice and say something about it, I ride the wave I get from that and basically stall myself. I wonder if we just didn't TELL others what our goals are, do it for ourselves, that would help keep us on track. I just don't know how to put that into practice when others try to encourage me or validate me by complimenting me without me taking it too seriously.
Does that make sense? I did this just this week, telling you gals here and my friends on facebook about going to aerobics monday, I got a cat-tongue bath and then basically blew it the rest of the week. I'm just sayin. :)
I packed my lunch already for today, ate a healthy breakfast so I'll hop back on today. WEED it out....
W-3-4 liters
E- Breakfast was fiber one and a banana, then I saw some SB dark choc covered soybeans and ate them for a boost of energy. Lunch I packed half a turkey and mustard sandwich, veggies and FF Ranch dip, RF pb on celery, pineapples. Snack I packed a Fiber One bar. Dinner will be grilled (if its not raining) chicken and sweet potatoes (cubed, tossed with 1 tsp olive oil and ranch dressing packet, baked at 350 for about 45 min, its good!) and??? zucchini? or squash if they aren't moldy by now. Hopefully will not need late night snack.
E- community service is kind of exercise for me. I will try but not promise to go to the gym this afternoon, preferably BEFORE dinner but will do what I can.
D- Just hanging in there. My life is changing, I'm close to getting my life back on track, don't let today get me down.
I love you all, I wish you all peace and serenity. xo Michelle

Wow, I was the last person to post at 9:30 am and now its 4:30? Where are ya'll?
Holy. ****. You guys, OMG. So for my community service, I've been working at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. But they are closed next week, Wednesday until the following Tuesday. And I have 20 hrs/week until employed (YEAH! I can search for my nursing job NEXT WEEK!!! T minus five days and counting!) Well anyways I had to pick up a second site so they are sending me to the Humane Society. So I decided to go there today to check out what it's all about. Well I gave two puppies baths (that was fun but I got totally wet and stinky like wet dog) then we had to walk them all, over the yard, just acres and acres of land. I walked these damn dogs for 3.5 hours. OMG I am exhausted just from all the walking. And it's hilly. So I know I am OP today! My knees are hurtin!
So. If you need some good exercise, try running dogs around at your local dog shelter. Holy moly.
xo Michelle

Seems like I haven't posted in a while. Last night I had my personals done and when I went to hit post I deleted instead. At least I was thinking of you all!
Weigh in today was up by over #1. I was expecting that considering TOM and the baked chips I ate last night after aerobics and the cookies I ate before aerobics. Self Sabatour Am I!!! I do have an NSV to report. I can now replace the water jug on the water cooler. Could barely lift it before and definitely couldn't lift it high enough to get on the cooler. Take that scales!

Hey ladies -
I read all the posts since my last but I can't even attempt to address all of them! That's what happens when you don't check in at least twice a day!
DH is finally home, yay! Although he's so exhausted that he's been asleep since 6:30 so not much help tonight, oh well.
W - 80+ (probably half that right now...))
E - none today :o(
E - I didn't track real well today, but even thought I ordered out for dinner it was steamed chicken and broccoli with a side of curry sauce which I used sparingly (probably less that 1 Tbsp. total)
D - steam clean the extra bedroom this weekend (thanks to my cat!)

emiloots- I agree. I just can't keep up. I had more time before Facebook.
Ladies- Keep plugging away. No more defeatest attitudes. We are women, we are strong, we can accomplish anything. I was 179.4 today, but not over 180, thankfully. Hopefully mid-cycle is winding down and I might be able to lose a few.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Michelle- I am looking into a support group focused on my specific need. I'm kind of scared to make the call. I'll be terrified to walk in. I'm sure it will help and I am positive it is going to be tough. Encouragement please!!!!!

Michelle, I totally know how you feel. Whenever I would get to an all time low, it was like cool >>>>EAT EAT EAT>>>>NO WORKOUT NO WORKOUT NO WORKOUT>>> then before I knew it I would be up 5-10 pounds. Some times I would just say who cares what the scale says, DH loves me just as much, nobody else cares what my goal is. Then I would gain more. Feel worse. Eat and gain more. Why do we do it to ourselves? I don't know.
Popcorn, great job on the workout. I weigh myself daily, but only officially on mondays.
Emily~maybe DH will be helpful tomorrow? I hope you get time for yourself.
Grazer, just keep up the exercise. You need the me time!
Ella~there is nothing wrong with giving yourself a day off.
WEED is great for me today! No workout tonight.
Hey Mindy~We posted at the same time. As for your support group, its just that first step that is hard, find the strength to make it. :)

Good Morning. I'm ready for another wonderful day :)
Popcorn, I was going to mention that since you have lost a lot of weight, pretty quickly your body is probably just catching up. Dont get discouraged if you dont see another big drop off.
Grazer, How are your kiddos doing anyway?
Emily, I bet your boys will be so happy to have their dad home.
Ella, get back to the gym today!
Mindy~ Are you getting back to your workouts? Are you able to get out for your walk/runs? Your advice is great. We all have to follow it!
Michelle, I would love to volunteer for our local shelter. I need to find someting good for the whole family. I want my kids to start learning about volunteering.
The scale is heading in the right direction :) I am hoping I can get to 138 by Thanksgiving. Then I think 136 for Christmas, (BUT I truly just want to maintain :) ) I've been thinking about my goal a lot lately. I set my goal 3 and a half years ago. I cant believe I am so close to reaching it.
If I have a lot of letters missing from my post, I am sorry. I think my keyboard needs a new battery.

Hiya ladies.
Popcorn, No loss for the week is tough, especially when you have been losing so fast. Dont let it get you down! keep doing what you are doing and it will pay off in the long run.
Kris, Dont let a day of fast food ruin it for you. You can maintain the loss just keep OP!!
How was my last 24 hours? Well good actually. Work was weird but good. I will be running a new product tomorrow which will be crazy but fun. I slept good and so did my kids. The scale was nice to me today. WEED is perfectly OP. DH made my dinner :) Good day.

hey girls....i'm here and crampy. went to a birthday party for a friend last night, drank too much. today i'm up, cleaning house, trying to watch my game, and getting prepped for a MK appointment later on today.
DH and I had a fight last night at Sams about what I eat (or don't eat and goes bad) and all the pasta he bought last night. I told him fine, i won't eat any vegetables and my butt will get bigger. Happy now?? His response..."you totally missed the point."
I guess it's ok for him to eat all the pasta he wants and not gain any weight from it. I *think* the word pasta and yep there goes 15 on my butt.....
I'm going to be selfish. He can feed himself. and I'll have to avoid the starchies after 3.......
Ok gotta get back to the dishes right quick during halftime :)
