...and you will see a photo of DC Hound squeezing her (less) fat a$$ into a pair of SIZE 12 CORDS.
OMG.
I mean, they don't fit. They don't look good. They don't, like, zip. Yet. But I got my big butt into them, pulled them all the way up, and I can see where they are going to fit in a couple months.
OMG.
I haven't fit into a size 12 since, I don't know. 4th grade? 5th grade?? (30 years ago.)
I was a size 32 (too fat for Lane Bryant) 14 months ago.
Wow.
SURREAL!!!!

I was just about to hit the submit button, but suddenly I remembered those clothing NSV's, which if you ask me are really and truly SCALE V's, but whatever it's all semantics, anyway, they are just so over the top overwhelming and emotional. It shows such a sharp contrast from how it used to be to how it could have and should have always been. The unbelievable misery that the clothing situation was and just the sheer joy/relief/pleasure that it now is becoming and IS. Somehow we told ourselves that it was okay to reach those high numbers. But was it really ever okay to do that to ourselves? All right, no more of that stuff. Enjoy those snug size 12's and I look forward to hearing of them being nicely fitting size 12's. Because hello, we all know it's coming since you decided to change your life. Good decision!!!

Robin, you're exactly right. There's no way to describe to someone who hasn't been there what it's like to pass by Lane Bryant, because you can't shop there, because they only go to a size 28, and those are for small women. Why wasn't it a wake-up call for me when I couldn't wear 28s anymore? Dunno. Well, I do know--lots of depressing reasons.
But to be on the other side of the fence, to be too small to shop at Lane Bryant--yeah. That's a surreal victory and a half. I'm small enough now that I choose not to shop at Lane Bryant, but I won't really feel victorious about it until there's no possible way I can shop there because the 1 Reds are falling off.
Well, I still get bras there, but I'm 2 inches away from not being able to do that anymore. I think they go to 36 and my chest measurement is a 37. My measurements are 43-34-43. Last year this time it was high sixties-high fifties-seventyish. Again, surreal.

And, an update ~ I'm sitting here on the sofa, with my laptop, wearing a SIZE 12 Lands End thermal t-shirt. A 12!!! It's really short, like almost bare-midriff short, but that's just because it's old and it shrunk. It belongs to a friend who left it here a loooooooong time ago. I just happened to find it this afternoon and decided to wash it and try it on. Boy, it's form-fitting but not in a bad way. I wore it to the grocery store earlier to pick up some dog cookies and got checked out several times, LOL.
12 is such a surreal size...

Well I wouldn't say I'm "in" a 12. I'm in a 16, definitely, some 14s. 12 is over the horizon though, and I've never been a 12 before. Never. I basically jumped from 6X/husky to 14 in one school year in elementary school and I don't remember any intervening sizes...

Whoo hooo! You go DC! To be too small for Lane Bryant, now that is something I can aspire to. I don't ever remember being a size 12 either. Maybe when I was 12 yrs old. I used to think your age was the size you should wear, because that's how it worked for me. Up one size every year.

When I was in high school size 14 was the first 'plus' size, and the 'normal' section stopped at 12. So getting into a 12 for the first time was a big, big deal for me. Which is to say, I am so excited for you! That's a major victory indeed. (It still feels pretty surreal to me to try on anything with a single digit on the label. Just wait until you get there; it's going to blow your mind.)
And sizing *down* out of Lane Bryant...is there a better feeling? I really don't think there is.
