Looking Good, Feeling Great - Where are you most excited to shop?

If you're anything like me, you've got tons of wish lists awaiting you when you reach your goal. Where are you most excited to shop when you reach goal?
For me, I'm really excited to shop at my favorite stores - American Eagle and Charlotte Russe. I'm also looking forward to fitting properly into clothes from Forever 21 and Hollister (clearance only, I don't need to pay an arm and a leg for a pair of socks, jeez!). I have dreams about going shopping and actually buying what I want to buy from stores I love!
What kind of clothes are you looking forward to wearing? I've never been a fan of wearing basic long sleeve (form fitting) shirts, such as sweaters or henleys, but I want to wear them at goal!

I can't wait to be able to get panties at Victoria Secrets (I know they technically have some "bigger" sizes...but their big is pretty darn small on me!). I would also love to shop at Hollister and American Eagle and Banana Republic...
I'm probably most looking forward to wearing tanks and short sleeves. I haven't worn short sleeves in public in like three years!
We're getting there! Yay!

Hmmm. I wanna get some low-rise jeans once my belly fat comes off. I feel like a grandma in my just-below-the-waist ones. And I want to get a curve-fitting top for once, not a thick sweater or something big and flowy. See, I can't wear thin, clingy fabrics because they accentuate how chubby I am round the middle... And I will finally get a swimsuit that I LIKE, and didn't just randomly buy because I couldn't stand looking at my half-dressed form in the mirror any longer!

Me too Wildcat, I can't wait to get a pair of skinny jeans! I have skinny jeans from before, but they never really looked right.

I have a pair of designer jeans that I love...they make my butt look good (when at goal only)....I would wear it with a form fitting tshirt that is a bit long...this look makes my waist look very small so I look like I have an hourglass figure. However, the only caveat is that when I loose weight, my boobies get very tiny...right now, I'm a D, but when I'm slim, I'm a small B...completely unfair!!!! ;)

ThickNPretty - have you tried various styles of Victoria's Secret underwear? I love their underwear and have been wearing them since I was 290 lbs.
For me, I hate shopping these days. Shopping used to be easy when I only had 1 or 2 stores to choose from. Shopping now is confusing, stressful and really something I want to avoid at all costs. I do most of my shopping online as I start to feel panicky when I go into a store.

@platformnine:
You know, I shop at Forever 21 and I'm like a 14-16. And I wear their "normal" clothes, aka not plus-size. You can totally shop there, you don't need to be skinny. in fact, most of my wardrobe is from there.

Oh man, Charlotte Russe is at the top of my list. I LOVE almost everything in that store. American Eagle, too -- I never wear clingy sweaters because it accentuates my belly, but once I'm at goal I will love to be able to buy some!!

Sunflower - Nope, I've never been able to find one thing I like in the store (or online) that fits me :( Soon though! I just ordered something on clearance (they have GREAT clearance prices!) and I'm hoping it will fit :D

See...I wondered about VS stuff before because one of my girlfriends who was a little heavier than me had some panties from there, but every time I've gone in there, I've only seen sizes up to XL. I bought a pair once and they were SNUG and not flattering...I'm a panty girl, too, so if my panties don't look cute, I feel oogly.
I'm gonna check it out though for sure! Maybe it's just my local store that doesn't have the wider range of stuff....
Oh, I forgot...Gadzooks and Wet Seal too!

Thicknpretty - Have you tried Aerie? It's by American Eagle, but it's basically a mix of Victoria Secret/Pink and sometimes the prices are much better and they are ALWAYS having good sales :) Charlotte Russe also has some good lingerie/under garments. My favorite bra right now is from Charlotte Russe and it was only $8.00!!!!

Charlotte Russe pants fit better than most anything else in the whole friggin' mall! I love that the place is so cheap! I also adore their jewelry. Here everything is 2 for $8. I love so many of my bangles and things from them!

I think I didn't answer that quite correctly. I would really like to shop at BCBG. I think their clothes are sooooo cute! I used to shop there and, in fact, I have a gorgeous dress in my close that I have only worn once in the short time when I was at my goal...I can't wait to wear it and I can't wait to go there and buy something subtly sexy! :)

One of my coworkers loves Charlotte Russe. I had never heard of it before...but now I see that it's pretty popular...I think I might check it out! It's funny because Charlotte Russe actually replaced the Lane Bryant in our mall (location wise, anyway...LB is never far away!)

I currently wear size L in Victoria Secret undies although I started with XL.
I went to Charlotte Russe with a friend of mine and bought some clothes that were on clearance. I felt uncomfortable though and wanted to just get out of there. Mall shopping isn't really for me.

My #1 favorite store is Papaya! I also love Charlotte Russe, Express, American Eagle (for jeans) and any and all Junior Sections in department stores like Nordstroms and Macy's...
Shopping in Juniors (at age 34) gives me a thrill like no other. There is nothing that feels better than being able to walk into any store and knowing they will have your size. Any store!
Banana Republic is way too expensive. Annoyingly so! :P

I can't wait to buy clothes that are actually flattering. My favorite store is express!!! :)
I also love jeans from American eagle and charlotte russe.. i just bought a pair of very forgiving size 13 jeans from charlotte russe and they fit great!

Jeeze it's been a while since I last posted. =P
Anyways, I can't wait to get back into my Hollister jeans. Mind you their largest size is an 11 (rolls eyes), I would LOVE to be able to get into a pair that was a single digit. Wishful thinking? Heck right now I'd be happy if I could wear my 11's and not look like a muffin in them! I shop at Hollister all the time and the majority of my wardrobe is from there, but I just have to get my jeans elsewhere (mostly American Eagle).

This isn't really the same, but right now I'd like to shop anywhere - I'm so close to my goal (13 lbs) that it doesn't make sense to buy anything new right now, but most of what I own is too loose and unflattering. GRRR.
I do want to buy some shirts from the Victoria's Secret catalog/website, which I don't think I could have done before, they're all so small and fitted. Oh, and I can probably fit into shirts in the juniors section of department stores now! For the longest time, even though I wore about a size 9 jeans, I couldn't squeeze my fat belly into even an XL shirt. :p

:carrot::carrot:This is sooo true! I am 45 now and today I went and bought a size 0 jeans (Vigoss skinny jeans) at Kohl's in the junior department. I am blown away at how far I've come, sizewise and style wise, LOL I wish they had more short lengths though, the petite department seemed small and old ladyish to me now and the junior department really didn't have alot of inseam variety.

H&M!!!!!!!!!! I can wear some things from there now, but for the most part, I just look and wish I could wear anything and everything. That is definitely where my first GOAL WEIGHT SHOPPING SPREE will be. I also love J. Crew and Mango, actually.... just knowing that I'd fit into anything would be a happy enough feeling.

One thing so awesome about being a "normal" weight is the versatility!
I have to confess, being a country gal, I have never heard of 1/2 the stores you girls have mentioned, so I have to rely on magazines and catalogues to know what is in fashion these days. I really don't like many of the new styles today and in my humble opinion think that "skinny" jeans only look really GOOD on skinny people ;) Something about that painted on look reminds me off all the years of struggling with clothes that were too tight. :)
Today I wore an outfit to Church that I just figured up cost me $25. It was a combination of old, new, cheap and on sale, and I got so many compliments on it that I was getting embarrassed. It was a simple above the knees chocolate brown corduroy skirt, (local dress shop on sale $7.00) long brown boots I have had for YEARS from my old thinner days, a white poplin pintuck shirt, (JC Penney on sale 13.00) and a red cable knit double breasted sweater vest that was my Mothers who passed away 17 years ago....and pantyhose, ($5.00 new). Seriously, with all the compliments you would have thought I had spent $100's. That is the thrill *for me*. Getting great deals, at any store, that look good. The only thing I will spend "big money" on is shoes, purses, jewelry. (Things that are forgiving if I should happen to lose or gain a few pounds....which I am prone to do.)

I wish I had a lot less versatility :)
I went to H&M a couple times and the first time, I was so overwhelmed that even though I fit the clothes fine, I felt panicky and left. The second time, I went with a friend but wasn't impressed with the clothes.

I have to walk by the Victoria Secrets store each time I go to WW, and if I didn't have a loss and I look at those ginormous pictures of those super skinny girls makes me sad. I don't even want to shop there that badly I just want to have the *option* to shop there. I never have before. Or at least not since I was 18 years old.
I also can't even imagine wearing sleeveless garments, I hate my upper arms more than any other part on my body, so I would be beside myself if I get to the point where I feel comfortable to where sleeveless clothes.

In general, the JUNIORS department :) As far as specific stores, probably Charlotte Russe and Forever 21. Ever since I had kids, my selection of these stores (and others like them) has been VERY limited....any bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, etc.) have been COMPLETELY out of the question. I don't plan to buy clothes until I reach goal...I think I have enough smaller sizes from pre-pregnancy to get me by until then. My reward to myself is gonna be a major shopping spree when I get there....and I mean like an entire new wardrobe! :D

Lori--the things I am complimented on the most are "mix it up" ensembles as you mention above. Good style and well fitted clothing does NOT have to cost much. I spend time finding them and am extremely selective but don't spend that much money.
Oh, and I totally agree about the skinny jeans. I won't wear them--and I am size 2--even sometimes a 0 depending on brand. IMO--not only must you be thin to carry them off, you must be built like a waif as well.

I thought I was the only one who thought that about skinny jeans!!
I do own 2 pair one dark jeans and one medium blue jeans but I wear them with taller boots and they are not painted on looking.
For me, the where do I want to shop questions are answered with being joyful at having the ability to shop anywhere :) I still get most of my clothing at target and old navy. They are cute and reasonable. :)

I think I will snub Hollister once I get to goal. . I tried to get an 11 at Hollister once and they busted out a ladder to get the jeans down! It took a lot of effort to get those down, I was so mortified. Well 75% of the time they never had my size anyway. Though I've lost weight, my bottom half will not go ANYWHERE. I've barely gone down a pants size. Back to the point though, I love shopping at: Forever 21, AE, PacSun, Macy's, some Hot Topic, Delia's, Urban Outfitters, ugh the whole mall. :D

Like bargoo, I just want to be able to go into any store and buy normal size clothing. I hope that when I get to goal, I don't feel as ignorant about buying clothes as I do now. I have worn what my family calls my "uniform" (black pants, black shell, dark colored jacket or shirt) for so many years that I just have no idea how to shop. I get in a panic in a store! My daughter tells me that when I hit goal, she wants to take me shopping. The plan is for me to just go in the dressing room and she will throw clothes in for me to try on!

I can't wait to shop in all the stores I was too afraid to walk into before.. y'know, the ones with the snooty looking sales clerks that eye you if you dare approach? Yeah.. those ones. ;) My excitement isn't so much over WHERE I'll shop, but what I'll WEAR. I've been overweight/obese my entire short life. I think this is actually the lightest I've weighed since the beginning of middle school. My goal is to wear the clothes I've always longed to..
SKIRTS! I think I've worn a skirt a few times before, but only ankle length ones. I long to wear knee length, or slightly above skirts and look dang sassy in them. I want athletic, gorgeous legs that I can flaunt. :D I'm pretty happy with my upper body (despite a pudgy tummy), my biggest insecurity is my thighs/legs.

I already shop where I like to for the most part (charlotte-russe, forever 21, tj maxx, marshall's, h&m, burlington coat factory, haha, notice all the discount stores?) but I dream of the day I can pick up a small. I've already gotten to the mediums last time I lost, so now my dream is the small's.. I'm a large right now. I've been getting into Urban Outfitters lately.. they have some decently priced stuff in clearance, but so far their large doesn't fit around the chest for me - it might have been the tunic I picked up, but still.. So hopefully in 10-15 I can pick up a couple tops from there!

I bought a pair of size 12 jeans from American Eagle about a month or so ago (wearing them now, actually) and they fit woooonderfully! They hugged every curve and made my booty look fantastic. They were quite expensive and I wasn't at goal yet but they looked too good to leave in the store. LOL! Now they still look good but I need a belt with them.
At the time the 10s were way too tight. I could use them now, though.

Guess and Bebe are two of my favorite stores. I can fit their clothes but they look best on thin people in my opinion so I am waiting for goal. Of course, I may just have to settle for Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe because I'm not made of money!
I want to be able to shop at the consignment stores on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where many of the wealthy ladies get rid of their old clothes. Problem is, there are few people on earth who are thinner than rich women with a Park Avenue or Fifth Avenue-Museum Mile address. They're like a whole other species. (Tom Wolfe called them "social x-rays".) And their clothes are individually tailored to fit. Realistically, I may never fit in their stuff. But I'd like to just not look incongruous browsing the racks there.

I guess they will be my reward, hopefully I won't get holes in the thighs after 2months of having them :)
