I have not done South Beach but have done Atkins. It is a low carb/high protein diet like Atkins but also low fat. They have a very strict menu to choose your foods from and the amounts are based on how much you weigh. You also have protein drinks, called HNS's, that you have to drink and buy from the center. Drinking lots of water, base of 64 oz with an additional 8 oz for every 25 pounds overweight.
