Our thread got closed for being too large so I'm starting a new one... we can has sticky please?

Here's a description via the old thread:
HI ALL,
I thought we could start our own photo album. It doesn't have to be ALL about weight. I got the idea from BrandNewJen;

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...62#post2031362

It is a link to her pics in the 300 forum.

SHARE YOUR PICS of your dog or kids, tatoos, cars, or everyday life, and of course, weight loss pics too!

So I guess I'll start out the new thread. These are pictures I took with my two suitemates today. They're so weird to look at because I almost look... thin... at the very least, not overweight. It's still such a foreign concept to me, but I'm liking it so far!

Yeah... TOTALLY doing that upside down.. oh well!

Are there any 'easy' ways of uploading or copying photos to this? Besides using the Attachments. All of my photos are too big and it's a pain in the A** to crop them each time.

Starrynight: Oh wow, you're so pretty! And your eye makeup is just GORGEOUS! I love eye liner and mascara and such.. I think of all the makeup that'd have to be my favorite. I really like how you do yours.

garstar: They're the brand fragile. I got them at the mall in the juniors department at Sears. I really liked their deep color. They're actually really interesting though. The one thing I DON'T like about them is that the front pockets are fake (I feel awkward putting stuff in my butt pockets but still do sometimes lol!), which I didn't realize till after I bought them. The other thing is that they no zipper, just a button. They have more stretch to them so you can slide them over your hips. That might not work if you have really big hips though! Mine are small so I can get away with it. :p It IS nice never having to worry about whether or not my fly is unzipped though, not gonna lie. XD

This is what I wore to my boyfriend's last week LOL. Those are my favorite new Nine West mary janes and the dress is a size 14 from delias (so, really, like a 12) that I found in my old box of clothes.

Jumping on the picture bandwagon!

We had to go down the shore this weekend for my cousin's confirmation party. Hurricane Ida which turned into a Nor'easter for us Northeasterners didn't want to make the hour ride very easy! Although I did head to the beach last night to check out the waves (and get showered by sand!) I didn't bring my camera as I'm behind on the times and I DO NOT have a waterproof camera. On the way back to my grandparent's house after lunch this afternoon my sister and I stopped by the bay which is just up the street. The view was gorgeous and since it wasn't raining I decided to take a few pictures! I love love love taking pictures and photoshop!

First a black and white of the water:
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/downbythebay2.jpg
Then a 'low color' of the water:
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/downbythebay.jpg
A reflection of me and my sister in her car:
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/IdaShore049.jpg
Last summer my sister weighed 30 pounds less than me and I was the fat twin. We now weigh within 3 pounds of each other and we're hoping to conquer the next 20 pounds together! I'm on the left and she's on the right:
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/twins.jpg
She's such a ham! She's always been the pretty twin (I'm happier being the smart twin anyway!) and never afraid of the camera (even on a bad hair day like today) which is a good thing because I'm always taking pictures of her!!
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/editedbritt.jpg
She thought it would be nice to have a full body picture of me for once. I agreed:
http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af78/kurrislosing/kurriedit.jpg

After all of this, I dropped my camera from my purse into the street taking my bags out of the car before and it landed in a puddle of water. It seems to be able to take pictures but none of the other functions work (zoom, menus, settings). I'm pretty bummed over it but it isn't my good camera so I'm not completely depressed.

Platformnine, thank you! That is my favorite one too! My grandparents have had a house in Toms River since I was a baby. We used to use it as a vacation house but when they retired, they knocked down the little bungalow and built themselves a nice sized house. Lol it sticks out like a sore thumb because it's the only two story house on the street! Most of my family is in Toms River with a few straglers in Brick and Lakewood.

11-15-2009, 12:52 PM
Kurri - I've never been there, but it looks nice! I live close to Cherry Hill, Moorestown, and Medford. My family has a shore house near Avalon, which is an adorable little town :D And my boyfriend's family spends the summer in Ocean City.

In this photo I am roughly the weight I was in 10th grade. I haven't been that weight again till now. I am just blown away by how it's like reverse aging. How old do you guys think I could pass for? Do I just think I look younger bc I more closely match what I looked like at 16?

There are plenty of current photos of me on here, but here's a side by side of me in jr. high at 13 or 14 (left; about 130lbs) and me at age 20 in 2005 (right; about 145lbs)...I've totally regressed to looking younger than I did when I was 20, no?

Ladies,

I just rolled through the new photo album, and you are all so beautiful and unique! I love it! I fell off the wagon during my California trip -- I sort of had to -- In N' Out Burgers. 'Nuf said.

So as I was saying, these are the latest -- it was my son's first trip to Disneyland and the beach, and my first trip to Disneyland in 20 years! I loved it, I think, more than my nephews and son. Those ears did not come off the three days we spent at Disneyland! We also hit the San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios and Sea World. Best trip of my life.

Garstar, that is the nicest thing I have heard in a while. Thank you so much and right back at you. Seriously.

And, Forestroad, my kid had a hold of me so tight -- I think he really thought we were fleeing whatever that background was -- Terminator Salvation, I believe. That trip was so fun that we are going back to San Francisco in April. We are going to do a Segway Tour, hit the Golden Great Bridge, an A's game, Coit Tower, all the things we had to miss because of time. If anyone needs pointers of what to do in San Fran and you are not there, my baby's daddy is from there and knows all the great stuff to go do.

By the way, thank you guys for sharing your pics; it is truly inspiring. I am going to be sad in a few months when I will feel like a lurker on the 20-somethings page -- I'll be 30! Ick.

You're all looking fabulously gorgeous!!

I felt hot last night, so here's a quick picture I snapped (ugh, sorry for poor quality, lighting sucks in my room and I'm too lazy to open up photoshop to edit it) before my boyfriend picked me up :D

Alright, so I took some progress pictures, but it is very subtle. I noticed my stomach is smaller (not my boobs because god forbid they lose a little weight) and my LEGS ARE SMALLER!

Before (about 199):

My legs are getting...smaller...its very weird to me. I woke up this morning and I was like hm, so I don't hate you...Thank you, running.

Finally - my mother bought me this outfit in November of 2005, and then the jeans were probably too tight to wear, now they're just right, maybe even slightly big around the butt/waist area and I NEED the belt that they came with. I didn't regularly weigh myself...ever...so I have no idea when I was this weight before, but I know I weighed more in Nov2005 :)

Stella - Aww, thanks :D Also, WOAH chica I see a big difference! Great job!!! Look at them legs!! Isn't that weird about legs? I've always been used to having thunder thighs but now that the lower part of my thighs are getting smaller I'm like... woah, what are you? You're me leg? LOL. And you look SO cute in that outfit!

platformnine: Oh my gosh what a cute school girl-esque outfit! I LOVE that look and have tried to pull it off before, but I'm just too gosh darn tall! I look like an overgrown doll. @_@ Oh, and I saw your buns! How cute! I have a bun too. Her name is Kizuna and has black fur with some white, and blue eyes. Here, I'll post a pic for you. Also, you're looking AWESOME in your progress pics! That bikini's actually starting to look publicly acceptable, if you know what I mean. Isn't that awesome? :D Your second outfit you posted on page 5's also uber cute. The hair is rocking! Seriously! Awesome color!

Stellarose: You look stellar, girl! Oh and nice new shirt. I love plaid! I feel you on the legs though... I mean, I'm normal weight and still hate my thighs though. They look so big at the top to me if I'm in a bathing suit (look okay in jeans though!). My two problem areas will always be my stomach and thighs, I guess. :o At least I can hide both of them in clothes, though!

LittleMoonRabbit: Wow... that is an awesome picture of the tarantula. So close up! You can see like all the hairs!

Mickeypnd: You're so pretty! And you look like you have small lips, which look perfect on you! Almost like a constant, very mild, pouty look, but in the best of ways.

forestroad: You really DO look young in that picture. WOW. That's pretty awesome. I wish I didn't look so old, because I know that means that I'll just look OLDER later. LOL I think I think ahead too much.

mamaspank: Your photos are always so adorable. You always have such the biggest grin on your face that it makes me want to grin too. And those ears look so adorable on you!!!!!!

duckyyellowfeet: I like your haircut. It's really cute on you!!!

mamabekki06: Okay, a lot of times I look at subtle progress pics and can see no difference, even if other people are really gushing over them, but in yours I really CAN see a difference!!! You're looking thinner already, girl!!!

Starrynight: Your hair is so pretty! I'm really noticing hair now. About 2 weeks ago I realized the hair I've had all my life is not the hair I always thought I had and I'm now noticing all non-straight hair I see now! Will elaborate more below!

First, here's my beautiful bunny, Kizuna:

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z223/Violagirl23/Kizuna/DSC04526.jpg

And yes, she IS sitting in her food bowl.. what a goofball. I call it her mugshot.

Next... OKAY.... WARNING... MAJORLY LONG RANT FOLLOWS!!!!

OMG MY HAIR!!! I'm 20 years old, right? I'm already TWENTY and didn't realize my real hair. I thought I had very thick, poofy hair with a slight wave to it. I've been told all my life by so many people that I'd be so much more attractive, if I could just do something about my HAIR. Total triangle head. My hair would poof out the longer it got and expand out to my shoulders. You'd touch it and it'd feel like feathers, because it's so light and airy. The poofiness was not dense, just my hair with lots of air in it. Oh and I have the WORST frizz of anyone I know, practically. I'm a total frizzball even in the middle of the winter. And now I live in HAWAII, which certainly doesn't help with that. I've always hated how big my hair got... you wouldn't see my face, you'd just see my mass of HAIR. I always thought it just meant I have super thick hair and would have to get it thinned or something. I didn't know anyone else with thick crazy hair like this. It drove me nuts.

I was talking about shampoo on 3fc last August, and a girl suggested no poo to me. I looked it up and was fascinated. It means no shampoo, and basically implies giving up shampoo and using baking soda to eliminate grease and apple cider vinegar rinse as a conditioner, and slowly weaning yourself off of them so eventually you just wash with water. For those who have never heard of it, the idea is that shampoos contain sulfates, which strip your hair of its natural oils. As a result, you have to use conditioner to put moisture back in, but because the moisture you add back in is NOT your hair's natural oils (called sebum), it still thinks it is totally stripped and produces extra sebum to compensate. This is why the more you shampoo, the faster your hair gets greasy. Your scalp learns to produce more sebum to compensate for the stripping, which makes you have to shampoo it even MORE... it's a vicious cycle. The purpose of no poo is to slowly wean yourself off shampoo so your scalp produces less and less sebum until eventually it produces just enough to keep your hair healthy but not greasy, so you no longer need to shampoo at all.

Well, I read that it worked best with people who have dry, frizzy hair, so I was excited! I thought maybe SOMETHING could finally get my frizz under control and my hair could look... normal. So I tried it for a month at home, and it was still getting greasy hair, but the baking soda seemed to be helping. Then I came back to Hawaii and found that my dorm has hard water... well I don't have proof, but this is what happened... I put baking soda in my hair, but the MINUTE my hair touched my hair (that had the baking soda on it), it felt DISGUSTING. It felt coated with a film, like when you are in a pool and your hair is coated with chlorine, but worse. I tried to deal... I got out of the shower... guess what? My hair didn't dry! It wasn't greasy, but it still had this film on it that was trapping the water in my hair so it couldn't escape, so it LOOKED like it was. It felt disgusting! I couldn't stand to touch it, so I wore it up EVERY day. Eventually I decided I just COULDN'T use baking soda here. So I said screw it, I'll try going cold turkey and washing my hair only with water... blast it with hot water to try to melt excess sebum, then finish with the coldest water I could stand to close off the cuticle. But it still wasn't working. I was at this for TWO MONTHS, and my hair was so greasy that it was coated from root to tip, and yet my frizz was worse than EVER, standing practically 3 inches off the top of my head! I continued to wear it up every day, but it looked so awful I could just cry. I felt so hideous and unattractive with my hair looking like this. So I caved... 2 weeks ago I tried using a small amount of shampoo, and a LOT of conditioner. But I still wasn't satisfied, now I was back at square one.

So... a week ago I was officially SICK of it. I had been wearing my hair up every day lately and I posted on some sort of online community for curly hair because I figured, hey, I have slightly wavy hair, so it's not straight, so maybe these people will know how to cut it flatteringly so it's not so POOFY, and what to do with the frizz. And their response was to inform me that if they did their hair like I was doing mine, their's would be JUST as bad. WHAT?!?! And I thought I was doing a good job! I gave up my paddle brush several months and started brushing it a few times a day with a wide-toothed comb, and I was only air-drying my hair and never subjecting it to any heat treatment. So why was my hair still so bad?

This was my routine:
1. Shampoo and condition twice a week. NO blow drying or straightening, no products in it other than shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo in warm water, then put conditioner in hair and let sit for about 10-15 minutes while doing the rest of shower routine. Then wash the conditioner out with lukewarm water. Then squeeze as much moisture out of hair as possible with hands, then take a towel and squeeze and pat out whatever else I can, but try not to rub it too much. Then put it up in the towel for about 15 minutes while getting dressed and then take it out of the towel and comb it with a wide-toothed comb and leave it down until it dries. Then comb it every hour or so while it's drying. Then during the days I am not washing it, comb it with my wide-toothed comb once or twice a day, and about once an hour or so comb over it with a boar bristle brush because that is the only thing I have found that even slightly helps my awful frizz, although the effects ARE temporary.

They told me that because I didn't have straight hair, THIS bolded part was what was making my hair a mess. They told me I should only comb it while it's soaking wet in the shower and smothered in conditioner, either with a wide-toothed comb, or preferably with just my fingers and very gently. That by combing it dry I was disrupting my wave pattern and as a result my hair was getting insanely poofy and airy because I had destroyed the waves. And also that my wringing my hair and rubbing it with a towel was also destroying it. And that with my kind of hair, you should NEVER let a terry towel touch it, because it actually causes frizz, and that a tshirt would be better.

O_O I never knew that! I was doing hair like I THOUGHT you were supposed to, like all my friends did. I had no idea you were supposed to do otherwise. I didn't know my hair was different. So one week ago I took their advice and combed it only in the shower and then instead of wringing it dry I scrunched it some with my hands and then plopped it in a tshirt for half an hour and then let in air dry for a few hours...

*gasp* My hair was 1/3 the thickness it usually is (because instead of being all airy like usual, it was clumped together) and actually was almost CURLY! I've gone my ENTIRE LIFE thinking my hair was VERY poofy and only slightly wavy and very thick, when in reality it's a normal thickness and VERY wavy, practically curly! I always thought my hair was ugly, but now I know that's not true; I just didn't know how to take care of it. So here I am at 20, just realizing for the first time that I have almost curly hair. It's still all so new to me. I'm reading up on it like crazy, but I have a LOT to learn. But I finally know my true hair. For once I have a chance of actually making my hair pretty. I CAN'T brush my hair out dry, ever again. Maybe some girls with wavy hair can get away with that, but I have done that MY ENTIRE LIFE and it never looked good. I look like HAGRID. Now that I know it's almost curly, I know I HAVE to wear it curly to make it look good. It's like I have gotten a whole new head of hair in a week. It's very novel and I am making a photo hair diary on Facebook of all my progress. Every day I am trying something new. Yesterday I actually learned that my hair has a very low porosity. That's why it's so hard to get it wet, and when it IS soaking wet it takes 7 hours to airdry if I don't squeeze any excess water out (it's only armpit length!!) and why my hair is so dry... it doesn't accept moisture easily. I'm learning something new every day, and it's so exciting! So now I know... I was getting all the frustrations of curly hair, without the actual benefits of the curls.

Some people STILL aren't believing me about my hair thickness though. My roommate says I MUST have super thick hair. But... I really do have cotton candy hair. 25% hair, 75% air. I measured it (you put your hair up in a pony and measure the circumference right after the bander) and I AM on the thicker side of medium, but NOT thick. I guess it's just a really good optical illusion.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! Here are some pics of me and my hair!

OMG Megwini -

I love your hair now.
Your story is pretty much my story!
I always thought my hair was just frizzy with unruly waves in it that that looked horrible..
Then I found this site, naturallycurly.com and I tried a combination of things (low-poo, air-dry, no touching the hair - though I am still struggling with that, and also plopping).
My hair would be dry and frizzy with no shape, and I used to think that blow-drying it straight and using a brush would make it straight, but it made it worse. I bought a straightener and it was nice, but my hair was still dry and it looked boring.. Then I stopped blow-drying and all that - no brushes, just combs, regular, cheap V05 conditioner (for the summer, my friend told me to use baby shampoo and it made my hair really nice, but recently I had no choice but to use regular shampoo but I'm in the process of switching back to low-poo). I use very little products and only sometimes, usually my hair is fine as it is when it air dries on its own.
But yeah, I had the same results.. my hair stopped falling out as much and now its much more voluminous and I love how unique natural hair can be!
Anyway, I love your curly hair, it looks really nice on you! haha, it gets me excited to read about people who went through the same thing with their hair.

Meg - thanks lol!! I love plaid on sheath dresses and skirts :D(... and so does my boyfriend lol). Your bunny is ADORABLE!! What kind of lop is she? Dutch or Holland? I don't know too much about lops, besides the fact that they're SOCUTEOMG. I love her eyes :D My white bunny, Keva, she has that ermine thing with the red albino eyes and the blue ring around them. It's freaky but cool lol 'cause I'm a genetics nutball. Also, as much as I adore being a ginger, I would give it to you if I could have those beautifully perfect beach curls. My hair can't hold a curl AT ALL for longer than 5 minutes without serious product added to it :(

Starrynight: Good to know I'm not the only one! Still, I feel pretty bad considering I've had bad hair my entire life just because I didn't know better!!!! Yeah, the people on the community I posted at told me to go there too. So I mostly just joined the forums and have had a few posts now. I guess for me what I'M having trouble with is figuring out how to get my hair to dry... if I scrunch it instead of wringing it, it's still taking 4 hours! That is a LONG time to have wet hair! (and I live in Hawaii, so it's not even winter-esque here).
I AM fooling around with product, but I don't want to use TOO much.. but the wind here is CRAZY and kills my hair (it's like the feeling you get when you stick your head out a moving car) so it breaks up all the curls, so I do think I NEED something to keep them together. I've been trying a $2.50 mousse I bought for the last few days, but it does actually seem to be making my curls a little limper than the day I left no product in, so I think my hair gets weighed down easily. But I do need to find SOMETHING to give me some hold, because my frizz and curl definition are still pretty bad, especially as the day goes on. I'm experimenting. Mostly right now I'm just trying to condition the crap out of my hair every single day and then shampoo once a week (cuz I'm still getting greasies) and seeing if that'll work any better than no poo did.

Stellarose: I agree! I only have one wide-toothed comb now and use it sparingly, but I'm sure even if you DID use brushes, one of each kind would probably be sufficicent? Unless you want to accesorize your brush color with your current outfit or something.

platformnine: I'm pretty sure she's a Holland Lop. And be careful what you wish for! It's not easy to handle, and the frizz is insane. One of my best friends at college, Katie, is Scottish and has fire-engine red hair and VERY curly hair, and it's so thick that if she let it down, it'd look like an afro, so she had it up EVERY day. She couldn't handle it and hated her hair to death. She finally had to get it permanently straightened just so she could actually wear it down, and she looks much better now.

Meg - your hair is BEAUTIFUL! And the bunny is adorable.

 - that's not even all of my brushes - those are just my styling brushes - I have one in my room just for brushing. I have one flat one, 3 round and one super big round (for my bangs). I really do use all of them - and I accumulated them over years and years. I started actually taking care of my hair when I was 20, and over the past 7 years I've gotten various brushes after I learned how to style my hair when its layered. I have a lot of hair, and if its not layered its just a pain in the a$$.

(And PS that picture is from a mirror so it looks like I have a lot more brushes than I really do - there are only 5 in that jar)

Meg, I have hair very like yours. Wash it, squeeze the water out of it, put some moouse in it and then don't touch it! I have been doing that for years. The only time my head sees a brush is if I am at the hairdresser. On the product side of things, I dont know if you can get it in the US but John Frida's Frizz ease serum is really good. Its all I use. once out of the shower, put a small amount in the palm of your hands, rub together and then smooth through your hair. You may want to play about with the amount you need, but my hair is a similar lenght to yours and I use about a blob 3/4 of an inch across. Hope that helps.

UrthWorm- you have a beautiful figure and great definition around your obliques...and the tan doesn't hurt :) I think that little pooch you are talking about will shrink to unnoticeable very soon. I still have that squishy area around my belly button at 130lbs, but I'm sure i'm the only one who notices it.

Stella- I think that outfit is adorable! love the boots and the dress combo. I am kind of sad I'm completely missing the plaid renaissance that seems to be happening, and I kind of dig buffalo check...maybe I can find something on sale in the Holiday mayhem and ride the tail end of the trend :)

Thanks so much for the kind words! I know exactly how you feel. All of the ladies on 3FC are constantly forms of motivation to me. I'm so glad this community exists, without it I wouldn't have made it this far. Good luck on your journey! I can't wait to see your progress. I already posted this over in the mini-goals section, but I'm just so happy with today's excursion that I had to share!

Today I am thankful for.. Finally liking the way I look in clothes! :goodvibes Today was Black Friday, and I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to go shopping. I was armed with only a few dollars, but with a little monetary assistance from my grandma, I made out like a bandit. Among the things I bought, was my FIRST EVER knee-high skirt. I have rarely worn skirts throughout the 19 years I've been alive; I think the most occurrences were when I was a small child unable to dress myself. This has been the first skirt that wasn't ankle length, and I didn't hate wearing it. I felt fabulous!! We had a family dinner tonight to celebrate two birthdays. I got loads of compliments!! My grandpa asked if I was trying to beat his weight loss record, and how much I've lost! :D My grandma, less supportive of my weightloss, commented I was going to blow away in the wind. My great grandma kept mentioning to people that I looked so thin, and that I'd lost a lot of weight. She said I looked gorgeous. ;) Just wanted to share my glee! Here is a picture of the skirt; I'm still not happy with my legs, but my hips and waist are getting better every day! I also bought these really great pants-- for working out of course. There's a matching thick rimmed tank. AWESOME! I was just so happy, my sweetheart & I went a little camera crazy. Please excuse the following montage. PS: My butt looks fantastic in those pants!

Stella - Hehehe, she's my little old lady. She's determined to be in every picture I take.

ETA: Ack! Sorry to be monopolizing the photo album today, but out of curiosity I tried on some of my clothes today that never fit and I have conquered them!

Dress that I bought in 9th or 10th grade from Delias:

Shirt I bought mid-summer in a size XL but it was mis-sized (I'm a size medium right now and it still is a bit snug!) I cropped out my legs since I'm only wearing underwear, which doesn't bug me but I thought it might bug you guys so I should show some modesty... lol

Ohh I dunno about that! I'll take a LITTLE credit, but they look A LOT like their dad! Evan (the older one), I call him Mini-Matt (Matt is hubby's name). Levi started out looking a lot like me, but the older he gets, he's starting to look like Matt too. The pic of Levi in the bath was taken several months ago when he still looked like me. platform, I'm definitely jealous. Not only is it a gorgeous dress, but it's a gorgeous dress that I could never wear because right now my arms look like fat sausages compared to the rest of my body...lol...HOPEFULLY they'll shrink by summer though, at least for now I can cover them with long sleeves. Divine - Don't worry, your arms will shrink! I started out with sausage arms, and though I'm still not happy with them (especially since I have almost 60lbs to go until goal) the did shrink a lot between the 200s and 180s! Do you use hand weights when you work out? I suggest doing that, it does wonders!

platformnine
12-09-2009, 12:54 PM
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. HUGE NSV. I have always been heavier than my mom, though I've been able to steal some of her shirts (albeit, SOME) I have never ever ever fit into her pants or jeans. Today I was looking at measurement size charts from several different stores and they kept telling me that my measurements meant I'm a size 10. Doubtful of this I went into my mom's closet to hunt down the pair of Old Navy size 10 jeans she has, which I couldn't find. I did find a pair of size 10 Boston Proper jeans, though. But I was aware of the fact that Boston Proper usually runs small. I huffed and thought "what the heck" and decided to try them on. I expected them to get stuck at my hips or my thighs but they slid right up and buttoned! There's hardly any muffin top either!!! (Granted, my stomach sticks out maybe an inch because they run a little small, but after an hour of wearing them they're less snug) I sat right down and cried after looking in the mirror. 1. I have not been a size 10 since 7th and 8th grade and 2. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIT INTO MY MOM'S PANTS!!!! After I was done crying I got up and danced around the house. My brother (home sick) congratulated me and my aunt and step sister did a happy dance with me. I don't even care about the number on the scale today, because for the first time in a very long time I feel very normal and I do not feel like I belong in the plus sized section!!!!

Thanks Divine! I couldn't believe it either! I didn't think I'd fit a size ten until I was down to the 160s! I know you can make it there too!

Well I can wear one pair of jeans I have that are a size 10 - Old Navy, from my cousin, but I'm not trusting them because she wore jeans tight and may have stretched them. I'm solidly in 12's now and I'm pretty psyched about that :)

Platform9- that's awesome! Do you mind me asking your height? You just gave me some hope that maybe within the next 15 or so pounds I can be in the same place! I'm kinda short though! Lol!

edit: okay I just took a look and it says you're 5'2 just like me! omg! there's hope!!! lol!! what size were you when you started out?

platformnine
12-09-2009, 07:33 PM
Varsity - Yay, height buddies! Lol, I started out at an 18 (at 222lbs) and I've done lots of walking, little bit of running, and lots of cardio :)

VarsityQuidditch
12-09-2009, 09:25 PM
Cool, cool! Do you mind if I PM you sometime? It's rare that I find someone around my age and my height who's trying to lose about the same amount of weight as me..although it says 122 for you and I'm going to see how I'm feeling at 140 because I don't think I've ever weighed less than that..

anyway that's really exciting because at 192 right now, I'm a 14...sounds like I could maybe be a size 10 in 15 or so pounds! That would be pretty awesome.

forestroad
12-09-2009, 10:31 PM
If you're a 14 at 192, I'd say it definitely sounds like you could be in some 10s in about 15lbs. I was a size 14 at 175lbs (I'm 5'4.75") and I got into 10s at around 150lbs.

platformnine
12-09-2009, 11:19 PM
Varsity - Of course! Feel free to message me whenever! And I agree with Forest, especially since when I was in the lower 190s I was a 14! And my original goal was 135, since that's right in the normal BMI range for me, then I decided on 130 because that would give me a 5lb buffer, then I decided that 8 more pounds wouldn't kill me, and I'd like to see how I'd look 100 pounds lighter ;) Who knows - maybe I'll be able to fit a size 4 by then! I'll se how I feel when I make it to 122, and then I may settle at 125.

redliss7
12-10-2009, 01:36 AM

I'm so excited I have to post these. The pants are reflective bc they're for running outside :)

http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs086.snc3/15333_539219397885_4400182_31913713_6416688_n.jpg

You can really see my essential body fat storage on my upper thighs there, but it's weight loss, not perfection :)

http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs106.snc3/15333_539219402875_4400182_31913714_2341138_n.jpg

You can kind of see the reason I'll never have a flat tummy there, it's just where my fat storage is, I have other photos where it's more pronounced. But I like my curves :)

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs106.snc3/15333_539219407865_4400182_31913715_3284784_n.jpg

And my butt's still pretty big but that's the first time I've seen that definition in my triceps!!

btw those are a size 8. I can fit a 4 thru 12. my measurements are like 35-27-38...i never know where to take my hip measurement bc my widest part as you can see is down by my crotch and measuring around my thighs/butt, and is like 39". My high hip (the widest part above my hip flexors, by the lulu lemon band in the first photo, is like 36.5". Yay spoon-shaped-ness.

platformnine
12-10-2009, 07:08 PM
Forest - Oh those are too cool! Now I want to be better at running just so I can get cool pants to run in LOL! And holy crap, LOOK AT YOUR TRICEPS!!! That is awesome, seriously! I caught a glimpse of my biceps in the mirror the other day and I was like "woah, hey, where'd those come from?" Does the waistband flash or is it like sequins?

forestroad
12-10-2009, 07:16 PM
Thanks :) I think that's why my mom bought them for me--she figured I'd have more motivation to run if I had cute pants to run in. And the waistband is just like a reflective silver pattern. Now I'm off to the gym to go run on the treadmill in my other pair of lulus :)

Thanks, Pammy :) I think it's all about attitude. I used to go running in a jog bra and shorts, no shirt, in my neighborhood when I weighed 160lbs. You are a normal weight bmi--I bet you look fantastic in running pants! You certainly do in your journey pics :)

PammyFl
12-11-2009, 01:07 PM
Forest- Thank you! I still have a long way before I can even have "the attitude" I still feel like the fat girl sometimes. Im not sure If I will ever feel comfortable to bare it all maybe once I reach a size 8 if my hips will let me considering im still in a 14 :(

I figured I would put a picture of my critters on here :) These are my 6 cats..I tried to put my better pictures of them on here, I love photography so thats why they are 'artsy fartsy'

This is Patches (the calico girl) and Fidget
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/5660/1005496w.jpg

Fidget's brother Digit - named so because he is a polydactly/mitten cat :)
http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/9407/1003539x.jpg

Mama Kitty, she never got a 'formal' name, and its what we called her when she showed up as a stray and had kittens in our shed. So it stuck! Unfortunately Digit and Fidget were the only survivors.

Here's are two pics of us at the West Ed Mall..biggest mall in the world.(hotel, skating rink, water park, Imax theatre, Amusement park, golf course, etc all inside!) .INSANE! ( We only seen about 1/3 of the mall! lol

Don't you just love the pout? All the kids I babysit call me Tay (a variant of Kay Kay, which my best friend's daughter started). When I took that picture he said "No more cheese, Tay! I am tired."

He's truly one of the smartest/funniest two year olds I have ever met. His mother was laid off in October so we see him so much less now. She drops him off Saturday mornings and picks him up Sunday nights.

Here is a video of him dancing. Ignore the bad singing and clatter from my family... and the mess of our yard!
