bargoo

To tell you the truth it didn't look or taste much different than any other lasagna but it was a huge serving ! While waiting for a table it gave me an opportunity to observe all the obese people there are. Whole families, Mom, Dad and the kids, not just pleasingly plump but obese and then some.

My only complaint to her?...

why didn't you get one for us for dinner babe?

She told me there might be some to-go boxes leftover on sale at church tomorrow...

Around here, November is too darned cold to be out watching meteors or lying on porches although I might consider it.
The kid from CAA took forever to get into my car - he said "Them Ford Focuses is hard!" It took him nearly an hour but he finally did it. By then the evening was shot so I made dinner, watched TV and went to bed - not nearly as exciting as meteors.

Dang, Ruthie. It doesn't take me that long to get into a locked car!!! I learned how when I locked my keys in my car on the way here from back home. Thank heavens I did it while parked next to a tow truck driver. You just use two shims and pry the door open enough to get a hook to the lock or door handle. Can't use a Slim Jim anymore since the manufacturers began putting blocks in the doors to prevent theft.

And, no EZ, I still haven't recovered a regular sleep cycle since doing shift work, so I was up during the meteor event. But, quite a few folks who don't have aluminum foil on their bedroom window(like me) were actually woken up by the bright flash of light and the boom a few minutes later. There were several videos of it. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=8714738 Here's a link to an article with a video.

I received this in an email this morning---too cute not to share with everyone!! Have a great day!

ADVICE FROM A RETIRED HUSBAND

It is important for men to remember that as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are over sensitive, and there's nothing worse than an over sensitive woman.

My name is Ron. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Carol Anne. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Carol Anne to get a full time job, along with her part time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age.

I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her.. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men's Grill at the Club, so eating out is not reasonable. I'm ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door.

She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days. That way, she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean).. I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice big cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Carol Anne. I'm not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Ron died suddenly on 31 January of a perforated rectum.

The Police report says he was found with a Calloway extra long 50 inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby.

His wife Carol Anne was arrested and charged with murder. The all woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her not guilty, accepting her defence that Ron, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

And my mama cried
Nanook, a-no-no
Nanook, a-no-no
Don't be a naughty eskimo
Save your money, don't go to the show

Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said ho, ho
And the northern lights commenced to glow
And she said, with a tear in her eye
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow

We had just a skiff of snow that disappeared. It's time to put the car in the barn for the night to avoid cleaning it off. The problem is that "somebody" left the dogs' wading pool in front of the barn door, Mother Nature filled it with rain and now it's a block of ice and way too heavy to move. That's my problem of the day.

How about a party at my place today? Bring and ice pick and I'll supply mixers and booze.

You're on Ruth!
I always thought "somebody" lived at my house, but here I go reading he (has to be a HE) is living at your house as well.

"I dunno" lived at my house for a while...he left when the kids all moved out.

The only "he" around here is wee Jazz and he claims he had nothing to do with it.

You sure about that? I would need to see that confirmed by Angie.:p

This Tiger Woods stuff is causing trouble around here.

Now DW wants a pre-nup that grants her $20 Million per ten years of putting up with me. She wants her $60 mil NOW.

I say pay up BILL....as long as you can keep your endorsements intact.

Gosh, Bill, if your DW wants that much, think of what Angie would want!

It's raining and mild here today. This will be the first time I've ever put up the porch garlands without freezing my butt off. I just doesn't seem right!

You are getting a real bargain there Bill, I would pay up ASAP before she realises she deserves more,

Are you saying me wife is greedy RUTH?.....

Is this a deliberate misinterpretation? I suspect that what Ruth is saying is that no matter how much Bill's DW deserves for putting up with him, Angie deserves triple that for putting up with you. I agree, Ruth is always right!

What!? ME!!! Misinterpet something here on purpose just to stir things up :o ...

WHY I NEVER!

That would just mess with the sanity here....

See, we were right when we were miffed when this thread was moved from general chatter to "games". Calling this a game is to assign a goal to it, some kind of purpose, even a value. That makes it intimidating!!

Can we expect to see BILL real soon with the rule book in hand then?
