Mini-Goals - Size 12 to size 4. 175 to 130. (Warning, you can see my stomach)

First is from halloween 08, and the second is from today after I returned home from belly dance class :] Also, this is the first time EVER I have been comfortable enough to wear a mid drift bearing top at the studio. So kind of a personal victory there.

Hope the second photo doesnt offend!! If it does, just tell me. I'm not trying to be a skank! :]

I have to say to those who asked how I did it, it was all exercise. I only do cardio twice a week now(I run Tuesday and Thursday mornings...sometimes). What really helped to tone and smooth everything out was all the dancing I've been doing. I wasn't even this toned at my lowest weight of 100ish. I have never in my life been able to see my abs until now. I swear by belly dancing as the exercise to get rid of the muffin top. And its so fun, I never thought I'd get this involved with it. It really helps women who may have poor body image too. I never feel sexier after a class and I use to be the girl who would literally get sick most times she saw her reflection :]

Yes it is wonderful! I am usually sooo conservative, but it just gives me such a feeling of accomplishment and sensuality. What could be better?

How long have you belly danced? I'm only in intermediate classes myself, but when I go back to school I think I may audition for the performing studio depending on how much I improve in these next few months :]

Thats not true! There is a t-shirt they sell at the dance shop for one of the studios I dance at that says "Bigger girls make better bellydancers" I love it! One of the reasons I started bellydancing rather than ballet or tap again is because I always felt too fat to be a real dancer. Like I didnt deserve the title or the opportunity to dance with the fit, graceful, pretty girls. I know now thats a load of BS but still, that was the source of my apprehension. One of the things I like about belly dance classes is that there are literally women of EVERY size moving gracefully and looking beautiful while they do it. Helped put a lot of perspective into what makes a woman lovely, and helped me to banish that horribly unhealthy and self-destructive mindset I carried with me for so long.

Wow, I want that shirt haha. Yeah I've had my eye on bellydancing for a while too, partially for the same reasons as you and also because I feel way to uncoordinated for anything else. Hm, you've inspired me. I think I'm going to pick up a DVD to get my feet wet, and do the class in the spring! Thanks! :D
