Well all of the "food dye" candy went to my husbands work on Monday. The chips and chocolate stayed here in his office to dole out to the kids (and him!!!)...
it's almost all gone now and I had been having 2 pieces a day... and yesterday when I had my 2 pieces I realized? That I DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!! That it tastes BAD. That it's just cheap chocolate and not WORTH the 100 calories. This is the first chocolate I've had since last Christmas... and I've lost my taste for it.
Isn't that funny. It still amazes me some of the crap i ate and thought i liked. Turns out most of it realy just tastes like crap. Yay for your "ah ha!" moment.
That's fabulous! I find that as long as I don't take the first taste I'm ok. However, if I give into a little I want more. It's great to find out these things on our journey!
OMG...WOW....This is the first post that I've seen your new avatar pic on. You look amazing!!!
Thanks ladies!!!! You guys are good for my ego lol! I LOVE my new hair still!!!! I'm gearing up to do a new series of progress shots in about 2 pounds For 160 lbs lost!
I'm not a candy or chocolate person, except for marshmellow bunnies. I don't know what I would do if they were in the house. I can hardly walk by them in the drugstore at Easter without being aware they are there. And talk about crap.
Since I live alone I can totally control what comes into the house so I'm lucky. If I don't see it I don't think about it. It's takes a lot of determination to control the food temptations when you are surrounded by people who can eat it. congratulations to you for your steely determination and keep on inspiring us all.
Yep...same here. Foods I used to love now make me sick or I take a bite and wonder why I ever loved it.
Fast food is really bad -- stomach rolls and nausea. I went to Burger King for the first time in over a year. Not only have the prices gone way up on that stuff but I could only eat about half before I got sick. Indigestion all night, nausea, and wondering what I ever saw in that place.
Chocolate -- those cheap ones are just not worth the calories. If I'm going to have chocolate now I really appreciate a good one (like Godiva). They taste good and are worth the calories if I budget that in once on a holiday or something.
This might not be for everyone, but it seems to be working for me. Every night after dinner I have a tiny piece (66 calories) of that really good, organic, 85% chocolate along with a few almonds...it really hits the chocolate spot, and ...at least so far...it hasn't caused cravings like the other stuff.
