Not sure I'll manage a big loss after the big loss this month but still going to try and keep up 2lb per week (and hoping to be 14 stones or less by the end of the month), and should be in Onderland sometime this month too :)

Hey all, here we go again!
SW: 183 (well, actually had a hiccup over the weekend which seems to have made me gain like 12 lbs back - but its so unbelievable that I can't bear to put it in writing, as am hoping it is a weird fluid retention and will be gone by tomporrow, 6 have already magically floated away again) so am sticking to my 183
Goal: 174
Has anyone else ever gained that much in the space of 2 days? I'm not saying I was an angel food wise, but I didn't even eat more than 4lbs worth of stuff - there was a substantial amount of wine involved though...

Yeah that happend to me a just over a month ago. My upper abdomen bloated severely and i gained 8lbs overnight. I presumed it must be water retention. I saw a doctor (because it became very painful) and it turned out i had an inflamed gall baldder due to calcium spots. Not to worry though, if your not in any pain it must just be water. It's impossible to put on that much weight overnight. As my doctor told me there's 3500 calories in 1lb of fat.. so you do the math! it's just can't be done!

Hey everyone
I've not been great for the last few days. Have been staying with family and visiting my boyfriend's parents. The diet is so difficult to stick to when you don't want to tell all the skinny people that you're on one. Or when there's good wine and cheese....oops
At least I haven't put any back on! I'm still at 223. Anyway, 217 is my (realistic) goal. It's a goal I set when I started - I get a new handbag if I reach it. Anyway, good luck everyone! :)

Yes I did eat Chinese, and had all the leftover Rice for bingie afternoon snack the following day - and seeing as am on a pretty much no carb diet, I suppose that's what did it!
Am nearly back down though - so am even hoping for a 1lb loss when I post at weekend...

ladies...im back on the wagon, when i lost all that weight ive put it back on and more....
I have had swine flu hence the weight loss then when i felt better i havent stopped eating..drinking..eating..drinking....here is how today has gone...
am...
small low fat soft cheese triangle 4 cups of coffee!!
lunch: small chicken leg no skin with small salad..
(didnt touch the sides so....)
packet of salt and vinegar mcoys.
then ...small slice of choc cake
then...packet of hoolahoops
then...another chicken leg
tea....4 sausages, beans and mash...
im going off my head as i just simply cant stop eating...had 3/4 of bottle of wine last night as well havent been to the gym in months..have no motivation..self esteem at all time low...and constantly hungry!!!!
grrr!! any pointers to stop this....i cant believe how much im packing away and no amount of fruit is going to aid this i will just eat more rubbish on top!! what am i doing?:(

Welcome back touch my toes - swine flu isn't pleasent - I could barely eat when I had it and it was difficult not eating everything in sight afterwards. Fortunatly (?) I had it in the Summer so could fill up on salad.
I'm also wanting to eat a lot because the weatehr here is so cold, miserable and soggy :( I'm eating a lto of soup to help fill me up which is working. I think in your case maybe you didn't eat enough for lunch? If you'd of eaten more then planned a healthy but filling snack for the afternoon you may of avoided the "binge"? Remeber sausages are very high in calorie so try and avoid or keep your portions of them down. Also maybe if you'd of avoided the crisps you would of been stronger to resist the other stuff? I find if I have one snack like that when I'm feelign like eating everything it just makes me want to eat even more.
I also find I'm hungrier when I don't exercise. Once your strength is back may be worth starting exercising again and see if that helps. If you don't feel like goign to the gym maybe do a dvd or something at home for a while?
I do think your weight is very low for you to be feeling so bad about it - mayeb you're a small frame and that's why I don't know but I'd try not to worry too mcuh about the scales just keep anyway on what they're saying and concentrate on improving your eating and exercise habits again that way you can focus on how your body looks and feels rather than just the scales. Also rememebr after being ill your body may need more food to recover and rebuilt strength which may be why you feel like eating more too - if you can plan better to make sure you eat enough healthy food maybe that will help too.

hiya, yeah im having difficulties planning at the moment because my days are so long but you're right i did it before so confident i can do it again..i was loving the gym and the energetic feeling i had with it just need to get over the hurdle!
as for snacking i honestly dont know whats up...
when i get hungry i start to feel really faint and tired like i need to eat there and then or il topple over!its not like ive not eaten earlier or anything but i get it all the time..! strange!
swine flu knocked me for six..really poorly and the weight flew off but like ive said its here now on the old bum and thighs..
im not big really but i am curvy and given the right level of me not giving a damn it will get out of control as i get older i know it so need the preventative stuff now whilst i can do it...if that makes sense..i have large hips and curvy thighs hence my need to keep it in trim, given the opportunity my weight would go up and up and up....(as most would i guess)
im just suprised at myself if that makes sense that i can be this lazy about things and let things go so much...its unlike me and its hard to get back on it

Don't be too hard on yourself touchmytoes, you've been ill and body is just probably happy to be eating again and taking advantage of you.
Like Rainbow said maybe if you ate a bit more lunchtime and had beans and a jacket potato or something you might be able till last the afternoon without snacking.
Although i'm a fine one to talk as i'm doing Slimfast, thats how weak I am! If I start eating I wont stop so it's just easier to have the drink twice a day and forget about food althogether till teatime.

THe scales don't seem to be moving much for me this week :( Not really suprised - a little less exercise as the girls were only back at school on Tuesday and TOM is coming and I don't get much of a loss the week after a 4 lb loss. Very pleased to be maintaining 14 and a half stones - I'm always so sucpicious os a whoosh and expect the weight to whoosh back just as quickly. Now to drink lots of water to see if I can get the scales to move by Saturday :D

Hi
I will definitely be joining this forum but my weigh-in isn't till Saturday morning. Given that I am very overweight and I'll (hopefully) have that initial big loss in the first week, I think it's reasonable to expect about 16lbs loss this month. So, as I prefer to round the numbers that means I'm starting on 279.5lbs (as of last Saturday) & aiming to be 263lbs by the end of the month.
Good luck everyone!

I'm having a bit of a weird time at the moment. I've been eating really well and in the last week have noticed a massive difference in myself. I'm much more energetic (can run up the stairs to my flat without panting, can get up in the morning more easily), and have lost 3 inches from round my middle since I measured a fortnight ago. I still haven't lost any more weight though! It's very annoying! Is it because it's just after my first big whoosh?
I think I'm also going to have to buy more scales. Mine only have a little line for every two pounds, which is no good to me when every pound counts! Are digital scales the best way to go?
Well done you guys that have made it/are sooo close! I'm jealous!

That can happen where you stall a bit after the first loss, but you kinda should have lost a bit (though everyone is very different) - its the old thing, up the excercise a little, and cut the calories a bit more to try and get the scales moving.
I have had a few problems with scales, and had to return various ones that were completely wrong - most people say that the best scales are the heavy duty doctor type ones -but they can be difficult to read - I bought this one about 2 weeks ago, and am very happy with it

Starbuck 4lbs is great when you're well underway with your loss. I also wanted to say I love your little personal comments on the round-up! :)
Rainbow it's great to see someone who's lost so much weight. I can remember how good 14 1/2 stone felt - I was that in 2001 before I had my son. I'd just lost 4 stone on WW and thought I'd really changed my bad habits for good, but from the moment I was pregnant I couldn't stop eating. That carried on afterwards as he never stopped feeding & I was constantly starving. Before I knew it that 4 stone had piled back on, followed by more over the years. I could kick myself now for letting it slide. I'm looking forward to feeling that way again though, and I don't intend letting it slip back on this time. I definitely have no more children planned! :)

Thanks Bakewell - I will fele happier at 14 stones though ;) That's the weight I was when I got pregnant with my first - before that I yoyoed between 13 and 14 stones for a few years. I managed to lose weight between each pregnancy but could never stop eating once pregnant and after the girls were born also no more children planned so hopefully this weight loss will be perminant :)
I've lost 5 stones since March (so more slowly than Ellie) and I lost the rest last year when I had some teeth problems so couldn't eat and then was too scared to eat anything solid. I did plan on keeping up losing weight after that but badly broke my ankle and didn't want to lower calories while recovering. Really hoping to see 13 and a half stones this year :D but I was expecting to get to 16 stones by Christmas originally so any extra is good :) I woudl never of managed to lose so much or to be so determined without the support of this place :)

anybody had this happen before...
clearblue preg test the normal type not digital comes up faint positive, as the expiry time has gone its getting darker and darker but within the designated time it was still a faint pos..
anyway, did a clear blue digital today and 'not pregnant' on the screen...
damned things..anyway, not going to take another test until next week..im only about 5-6 days late with irregular cycles and Im not sure when i ovulated this month..
also with 5 previous loses im a little sensitive to the symptoms...
but it was a defo cross in the box and the paper work that comes with it say...if there is a cross in the box welcome to the club?!! so confused!:dizzy:

it might be too soon for the digital version to pick up, try in a week and it should be long enough to pick it up.
When I was trying for a baby hubby bought a job lot of 50 pregnancy sticks from ebay for cheap as he was getting fed up of me buying one everyday.
I did one and really really really faint line but could have been nothing so chucked it in the bathroom bin. Did one in the next morning for some reason, I told you i did them all the time! and there was a definite line, looked at the one in the bin and that now definitely had a darker line too.
Told my hubby who didnt believe me, hadn't realised it was april fools day! he had to be shown the evidence before it sunk in.
Best of luck with it!

Test again with a normal clear blue in 2 days. A fiant pos is a pos though so you should get a definate positive by then. DOn't bother with clear blue digital - it's not a very sensitive pregnancy test so just confuses things more. You need more hcg in your urine on a digital test to get a result than on a normal clear blue. If you didn't then testing first thing in the morning before drinking anything would be better too. All the best, hope it's good news for you.

I was a bit worried that lying on the couch ill with no exercise would make me put on weight - but hopefully the lack of appetite will prevail, as in your case! Fingers crossed! Your progress pics are brilliant by the way :)
I've come down another pound today (that's 2 in the last 2 days). I'm so glad! I've decided that I'm just going to read the scale as it is until pay day, when I can get a new one!

Well done to everyone losing this week - it's great to see people reaching different goals. Ellie, keep at it, I'm sure it will be good news next week.
I'm only 11.5lbs down which isn't a lot when you're my size but friends at uni are already saying they can see the difference. I didn't think anything of it as most of them know I'm back on WW (especially as my WW leader is another friend from uni! :)), until a friend who didn't know asked me. What a great motivation! :D

Hi Guys..
well finally i'm down one more pound! one pound in two weeks is really disheartening... i know how you feel Rainbow! but don't worry... it'll pick up again soon.
sooo... i went shopping yesterday and i wandered into Primark, (which i think have rather small sizes) tried on a pair of size 16 jeans (which around a month ago looked a bit too tight on me) and dundundun THEY WHERE TOO BIG! omg i almost screamed with delight right there in the changing room!... the pounds may have slowed down but i must be losing inches!... i will have to start measuring!
beescwee, ellie & bakewell you all rock! Starbuck your doing great.. you set yourself a big target.. 5lb for 3 weeks is amazing!

The scales have moved again :) but not weighing in again until Saturday though so everyone will have to wait to see if I make it to Onderland this week ;) . Actually think the kebab we ate on Friday (very stressful day and hadn't eaten :( ) may of caused some water retention so hoping for a whoosh by Saturday and have been drinking a lot of water in the last few days as well as being careful about what I eat. .
Hope everyone else is having a good week.

Touchmytoes, that's great, and also best of luck with trying for a little one.
Starbuck, I know how that feels, even now when I am feeling quite pleased with myself its still hard with saggy tummy, inner thighs and underarms to feel all good, think I need a bit of Gok Wan..... but you just have to focus on the good bits as you say like your face, and the tummy WILL follow.

Sometimes when my tummy is feeling a little saggy i try and incorporate some sit ups into my exercise, although the are not instantly making a difference they do pull all the right muscles and i do feel tighter so to speak.
but i know how you feel mind as my problem area is my hips..i have child bearing ones which seem to collect fat! thats where most of my excess fat is and always the last place that it goes from...

i could have wrote that myself! my biggest issue is my lower stomach. Since i've had my daughter i've lost some elasticity in the skin so not only is it fat.. it's saggy and covered in strech marks! *sob*
Even though i was overweight before i got pregnant and i weigh a stone less now than i did then.. i still feel like my belly is where i carry most of my weight.
anywho.. enough moaning. down another pound.. so i reached my target! yay :)
Starbuck your doing sooo well.. it sucks when you can't see the results but they become more noticeable in time.

I agree it's probably due to childbirth more than anything else, I had two caesareans.
It's just annoying that when I look at the scales I know i'm the same weight as i've been before, but can't fit into the same clothes. I suppose i'll just have to consign myself to the knowledge that my body's changed.
Hopefully one day it'll look a bit better than it does now.
It's also my time of the month, and this time round i'm suffering. So i'm feeling sorry for myself anyway:(

Starbuck your body will be changing all the time while you're losing weight; so don't get disheartened. Who knows how it will change as your weight continues to go down? Keep at it and I'm sure you'll start to feel happier before long.
Another 2.5lbs for me this week, so that's 18lbs altogether and my November target met. I'd really like to lose 9.5 in the next 3 weeks as my WW 10% award would be a great Xmas present, but I think that might be asking too much. We shall see. I just know that I'm going to put some on over Xmas, so if I don't do it before I will probably have to resign myself to not getting it till at least the end of January.

Starbuck - I had 3 c-sections so you can imagine the mess my tummy is in but slowly it's getting better - well betterish - actually I think it's a lost caused but not as bad as it was.
Well done to everyone :)
I went down just over 5lb this week so about half a lb below 14 stones but will count the half pound next week (plus I am sure this is my week before tom whossh that i seem to be getting so the half lb will come back anyway), so 196lb this week :D 1lb away from goal but very happy with that especially as a week ago I'd only lost 2lb all month.
Now hoping I can get to 13 st 7 by the end of the year, but as near as possible would be good.
Also got into a pair of size 18 jeans I bought in August this week :) They're a little tight but look OK. Hoping to get into the pink 18's I bought soon :)
Oh and being 14 st also means I finally lost every lb of pregnancy weight (from my 10 year old) - next big goal is 13st which was the weight i was when I got married.
