Roadqueen,
I am sure the little taste won't hurt much. We are such creatures of habit. I was the same way when I started. Now I am just constantly washing my hands. Always seem to have something on them. I made my girls homemade CC cookies last night. After each batch went in the oven the left overs on my fingers went into the sink. I didn't even have a taste. I'm learning!
Kathyb712,
Congratulations. Awesome achievement.
leatruthie,
I know what you mean. I don't know what it is about this month. I feel I am back in the game completely though. Three days with not one thing extra in my stomach and I just got through with a Jillian Michaels workout. I had left her behind for about 3 weeks and am adding her back into my routine. She is kinda mean though! :)
I was really stressing about Tday but 3 days ago I decided to just let it go and eat what I can. Told myself with two teenage girls and their cookie and brownie likes that are always around that I can stay away from that I don't need to worry. Since I told myself this. I have not stressed and not eaten off plan. Such head games.
I am behind on posts. Lori123321 are you still with us?
noahsmama,
Love the pic. You are your family and beautiful.

Some thoughts on Thanksgiving. It seems as if it's our culture's big food-based holiday. So all of us will have choices to make about what we are going to eat or not eat for ONE meal.
That's all Thanksgiving dinner is --- ONE meal. So, if you choose to stay OP, plan ahead because you will be the only one eating that way. If you choose to eat whatever you want, then enjoy it for ONE meal. Try small servings of your favorites, be picky about what you choose, and know that the very next time you eat, you will be back OP. If you're hosting, make sure and send the leftovers home with your guests, if you're a guest, don't take anything home. Drink a lot of water, make sure it's only the ONE meal. You will be up for a day or two, but if you stick to the program, you will be fine.
I think the one drawback of doing that is that it's tempting to keep it up, but if you feel confident that you can make it a one-time thing, then do it if that's what you want and don't stress yourself out about it. I wouldn't bother with the carb/fat blockers ... if you choose to eat off program, then eat off-program ... just plan for it, don't do it mindlessly.
Perhaps just try focusing on enjoying the company around you, keep your hands busy ... do a puzzle, play some games, go for a group walk after you eat.
I hope you each have a very happy Thanksgiving and that it doesn't cause too much stress in the food department anyway! Family .... well that can be a whole different issue ... LOL.

Deb, that was excellent advice. I so agree with you. This is my first time going through a Holiday while on MRC. (Except for my b-day...come on...it was a national holiday...you all just forgot...:dizzy:)
My problem is, I have two Thanksgivings, one on Thursday, one on Friday. I have decided I will take small portions and sample all the things that I have been deprived of. But I will do it moderately, knowing I will not overstuff myself to where I can barely move. I will enjoy my dinner with my families and not worry about being OP for those two days. I can do that!!!! And come Saturday, I will be drinking a glass of HNS and my usual 2 eggs and toast. I'm not going to worry about both of these days. I just plan to enjoy the heck out of them, but wisely!
EVERYONE HAVE A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING, AND IF YOU ARE TRAVELING, HAVE A SAFE TRIP. I WILL MISS YOU ALL FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS!!!

Hi all....I have been MIA for a couple of weeks...just taking a much needed break! Just like many of you I have not been on plan for a couple of weeks, even though I did sign on for another 10 weeks...I just had to stop thinking about all the pills, drinks and food. I have only gain .5 of a pound and I contribute that to the running I do weekly...up to 15 miles. I am a pound away from the 60lb board and have skipped WI for 10 days, I will WI this Saturday and start December with a fresh mind to finally get to my goal. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with your loved ones.

It was great to hear from everyone.
Karen, it's amazing the things they can see with ultrasounds. You will have to post pictures of future ultrasounds for us. Either I missed it or maybe you didn't say, but when is this little person arriving? Anyone have any ideas how we through a baby shower for our online family? I can't think of anyone more deserving of a huge party, nor would their be any better guests to have at a party. What a great way to start the holidays.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY 3FC FAMILY! It has been great getting to know each of you. I wish you all a great holiday season and hoping we can get through without stressing about food.:turkey:

Hi Teresa... That is so sweet of you to want to throw an online babyshower, sounds like fun :0) I was originally thinking July 4th based on my dates but the ultrasound says July 13th possibly... OBGYN thinks I ovulated later than expected (an interesting effect PCOS can have on women - random ovulations) which is probably why I was so surprised it even happened :0) What's another week or so right, LOL!! I delivered by c-section the 1st time and will have the same this time so it will be a planned delivery probably 1 week beforehand if all goes right so I'm not too worried. Anyways, thanks again for sweet sentiments :0)

I am still here! A couple of weeks of stress, work and dating! Had to call off one night due to a stomach virus. Hit me out of nowhere. I was in the grocery store getting fresh veggies for meals and then had to run to the bathroom. Barely made it home. Tormented me on/off for a few days.
Seeing two different people right now. Not ready for an exclusive relationship yet. Also not feeling strong enough attraction to either one to jump into anything serious.
Read a lot about people struggling. ME TOO! Infact, I have been bad about coffee with creamer, drinking vanilla vodka with diet coke, eating peanut butter and graham crackers as well as having pizza twice! Now I only had one slice of pizza when I did but I know better. The salt alone is killing me! Tonight my struggle is with this cheese ball one of the CNA made with cream cheese. I broke down and had some with crackers. Bad mistake, stuff is addicting! Would do great for one meal and the blow it later. Finding myself getting very hungry all of a sudden and needing to eat quick. Too many carbs do that to me, add being tired and changing my schedule (dang guys want to go out during the day time).
Going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Not going to go overboard but not going to be OP.
Was doing my Christmas shopping a week or so ago and found a leopard print snuggie. Bought it for my mom, I told her about the leopard print undies! Was giggling all through the store and the clerk kept looking at me funny.
:thanks1: to all my online friends!

Good to see you back Lori123321, I appreciate your wisdom in this daily struggle that we have. I have lost 8.5 lbs in 11 days and I am very excited.
It is a struggle not to sabotage your efforts but I'm trying to fight through.
I previously mentioned going off program on Thanksgiving but thanks to some of you and your thoughts I think I will just have a meal with the family, take a fat/carb blocker, drink my water and finish out the rest of the day strong with serious exercise on Friday. God Bless each of you on this wonderful day and wishing your families a Thankful Thanksfiving. sexyrene

Everytime I see one of these leopard snugli's in the store, I think of you!!! I think you should have bought one for you too!!! How sexy you would be knowing what is under that snugli.
You have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Glad to hear from you Lori. Enjoy your dating time, have fun. The main thing is to just enjoy life. It goes by too quickly, and if we can't have fun what's the point right.
I think I have a coat that belongs to you. Years ago, I got a leapord print short coat and as I was going through my closet to see what fit, I smiled and thought of you. You will forever be associated with those little fuzzy creatures.
Enjoy your time with friends on Thanksgiving.

Teresa - easiest way to do an online shower is for one person to volunteer to collect money (via mail is the easiest...so we'd need an address) and then to all chip in for a gift together. Since this is Karen's 2nd (right?) she might not need big baby stuff, but if there was something, she could let us know or we could just do a diaper shower. Lord knows you need a ton of those. So anyway...the person collecting money can either get the gift to her live (if they're local) or do a site to store pick up thing (like at Walmart...no shipping that way) under her name and she can go get it there.
We can of course do something similar for Taytay if she sticks around during her pregnancy. I didn't stick around 3fc while I was pregnant, but I will the next time. I think the accountability might help me not gain as much...whenever that time arrives.
Other than a gift, we can play games here too...i'm sure there are some that might be fun :) We could start a baby pool...weight, length, etc. :) Sounds fun to me...i love baby showers :)

I forgot to tell everyone about my cooking class this week....it was delicious. She made a Chicken, Cranberry and Apple salad that was out of this world. I had it two days in a row this week and I will probably be eating it many more times. She said since you can only get fresh cranberries only in season, to buy them and freeze them, because they will last for sometime. Let me know if any of you will want the recipe...it maybe in the cookbook, not sure...or it could be on MRC menu thread.
Thanks Rip...oh, yes... for the leopard print.....even if it is an Apron, you will look marvelous dahling!!!!

Hi my lil' Peeps!
So I have been M.I.A. these past few weeks also. I had my gall bladder taken out 2 weeks ago. The first couple of days went well afterwards and then I ended up in the hospital for a couple of days (my body wasn't ridding itself of the gas that they use to blow you up for surgery) in massive pain. They pumped me full of pain drugs for a couple of days and refused to let me eat for a day and a half! The whole weight loss thing was up in the air and is just now coming back into focus. I left surgery weighing (get this) 10 pounds more. In less than 4 hours I gained 10 pounds!!! I knew it was all water weight and that it would all fall off in due time. When I finally went back to weigh in the next week I had lost the 10 water weight pounds and about 6 additional pounds. I'm telling you it was not exactly the way I want to lose the weight.

Thanksgiving Chicken Salad
4 (6) oz. cooked chicken breast, chilled and diced
1/2 apple, diced
1/4 C raw cranberries, coarsely chopped in processor or diced
4 oz. celery, diced
1/2 oz green onion, thinly sliced
1 t MRC Mayonnaise (recipe in cookbook)
2 t lemon juice
1/2 - 1 pkg Splenda
Pinch of salt
Mix first 5 ingredients. Blend the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and Splenda and add to salad. Toss gently.
ENJOY! It makes a big bowl and quite filling. Perfect to pack for lunch to take to work.

Thank you, Fifties Lady, It is delicious - I made it with Turkey!!! I can see so many possibilities - different spices, lime juice, green pepper. Even on maintenance, I'm still using many recipes especially to keep eating veggies at lunch besides a lettuce salad.

Fifties Lady,
I just printed out the recipe. It sounds wonderful. I am going to buy everything to make at at the store tomorrow. Think I will be having it for lunch and dinner this week.
Reuselady,
Great idea adding peppers and other veggies.
All,
I made it through Tday, weighed in Wed. b4 and again on Friday afternoon. No lose, no gain. Yeah.
Today not so good. I made some of my awesome fudge. Stayed away for a few hours then devoured about 5 big pieces. Lesson learned. I will make it for the kids and hubby when they want it. Keep some and give the rest away quickly. My neighbors that I use to give it to are now both on MRC so I will need to find someone else to give it to!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday...I ate off program for a good part of 4 days and yesterday was the worst...all my bad habits kicked in...and what a stomach ache I had...thank goodness for Pepto-Bismol!!!! What an experience... WANTING to eat right, I felt like crap!!! I have had an awful Nov and am determined to get through the next 7 weeks fully on program and get to stabilization...I guess it took one really bad day making myself sick to get over this hurdle of getting back on track!

I hosted Thanksgiving for all my siblings and what a good time we all had! I prepared all the traditional fare, which I absolutely love doing. I knew I wasn't going to fix myself an OP meal, so I joined in the festivities and was only up .5 pound at WI yesterday. I'll take it! That was my only deviation, so I'm pretty proud of myself. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Back to work tomorrow! :dizzy:

Thought I'd share this...
I had a Tanita reading done last week and it showed that I was dehydrated...by quite a bit. Now I'm fairly religious about drinking my 100oz of water daily, so that was a little surprising. My consultant asked if I was taking any B6. I told her I was taking MRC-6 and she said...no, that shouldn't effect it...but then I remembered that I've been taking Relacore instead of Corti-trim. When i looked at my Relacore bottle it said that there are 25mg of B6 in each serving and I take 2 a day (that adds up to over 2400% of the suggested ammount to take daily).
My consulatant said that B6 flushes water out of the body before it has a chance to hydrate the body. I can't find any proof of that, but I did see that I was taking WAY more B6 than necessary.
Due to that, I've stopped taking the Relacore. I'm gonna see how it effects my weight loss over the next couple weeks. If it doesn't change anything than I won't take it.
I've also bumped my water up to at least 120oz daily...which is closer to what I should be drinking.
Just thought I'd share my experience. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hello,
i've been kinda in a non-diet mood the last 2 weeks. After i got my 30lbs stone, i was headed to chicago for a business trip, came back after a horrendous 6 hours delayed flight last friday, then thanksgiving week started, i didnt really cheat, but i also didnt really stick to the plan. Was invited to my first ever real American Thanksgiving dinner at a friends place, went there, had a time of my life ate what i wanted, collected everyones compliments. In true American tradition, i got the turkey leftovers, had them the next day and now since yesterday i am fully back OP. I am proud to say that i didnt gain a single lb as of this morning. So i guess i took a break, now i am gonna go at it full force again. My goal is to be at 290 mid december, because thats when i am going on a 2 week vacation to see my family in Holland.
I hope evreyone had a good thanksgiving week and can you believe it, that December is already here ?

JJ....oh so glad to hear from you...I was wondering how you were doing. 40 pound loss...you are really something!!! You almost are there. I am so very proud of you. I bet you hosted a beautiful and delicious Thanksgiving dinner for your siblings. I bet you had a great time.
I do understand about the site being so slow and having problems. A couple of times I made this lengthy post and when I went to send, it went somewhere in cyberspace...probably still floating around. If it ever ends up back here on 3FC's, it will be so funny.
I do hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed being with friends and families. It is a very special time. I did really good on Thanksgiving day at my hubby's family dinner...but then Friday we went to mine, and I overate all the good traditional items that I only get once a year....so I just enjoyed. And I did that for two days in a row. It actually felt good to sit down for dinner tonight and be OP again. I haven't gotten on the scale yet, but I can tell it's not going to be good. My rings are tight, and I know it is from the wonderful smoked turkey that I had. Way too much salt!!! So now I have to eat 9 MRC meals to get back on track again. My plan is up in two weeks with MRC, and I'm so far from goal...it will be interesting to see what "working with me" turns out to be!!! I just know I can't stop now.
Glad to be back with all my friends.

ALSO, my sister lives in San Antonio and is on WW's. She is struggling and I just don't think it is working for her. Hi GWE,
Thanks for the congrats :0) I had a 3 day Thanksgiving/holiday eating extravaganza and really suffered the consequences... I too was just miserable with belly pain. I knew it was b/c I was "off-plan" which is an interesting concept when you are trying to stay "on-plan" yet maintain weight while pregnant. Anyways, the belly ache that went with that eating was really not worth it. Who knew I would grow intolerant of all the foods I used to love? Anyways, back op x 2 days and I feel so much better, I'll take a boring bland salad anyday! Wish you the best in you journey towards stabilization. How far are you running these days? I've only run once, briefly, since finding out I was pregnant. The time change, the fact I often start work at 7 am and that it's dark by the time I get home has really put a damper on my exercising. I plan to get back with it asap. Need to stay in shape for a healthy pregnancy and after :0) Anyways, Take Care.
Gotta love the IV fluids we load you up with during and after surgery... geez... glad the lbs came off although I'm sorry to hear you had a rough time of it in the process. Hopefully you'll be back to yourself soon :0)
Hello,
i've been kinda in a non-diet mood the last 2 weeks.

Hey Nabeel,
you've done so great, your #'s and attitude are always impressive. I'm glad you had a great Traditional American Thanksgiving, certainly a fun treat for most of us :0) So how long has it been since your family has seen you at 290? Good luck with your goals, I know you'll make it in time for your vacation!
glad to hear everyone's had a good holiday vacation!
i ate off-plan pretty much the whole four-day weekend, but i'm only up two pounds to 187. back on track starting tomorrow! and i'm glad to have been able to enjoy the holiday's bounty. ;) plus some girlfriends and i (and my mom, who turned 55 on thxgiving) got up at 6 in the morning on turkey day to run 3-4 miles--we all decided we earned our extra helping of mashed taters. :)
Wow Leahruthie,
good idea! Congrats to you and your mom for going the extra mile :0)
I know this sounds goofy, but I never thought I would be setting monthly goals!! Let alone, that I would ever see my ticker move lol :D
YEAH!! Amazing what you can do with MRC and friends :0)
Sure love reading all these posts!! I am excited to start day 4 on the yellow menu tomorrow!! Anything to get closer to the creamies & meal replacements, haha!
Hvlymzic, thanks for posting info on Relacore...I read your post in the "newbies take 2 thread" and put that down to look into. Scratched that note out!
ALSO, my sister lives in San Antonio and is on WW's. She is struggling and I just don't think it is working for her. Does anyone have any info on a MRC center that is close to her OR does MRC online and can give me some advice to tell her. Thanks!! Hope all had a wonderful turkey day! Hopefully, I will post some good info tomorrow after WI!! :)
Congrats CndLou on getting started, this plan really works, just stick with it and the benefits quickly reveal themselves ;0)
Hey Lori,
Missed you. Glad to hear you're doing ok, it's tough to stay motivated when temptations leer closeby. Just keep thinking about those leopard undergarments and how good it felt to buy those, that will motivate you to keep going and get another treat for yourself soon. Have you seen the dog snuggie? That really cracked me up :0)
Hi Teresa and FL,
about the baby stuff, we gave everything away years ago, our little girl is 12 yo and with our struggle with getting pregnant after her and our moving twice we went ahead and just gave it all away. My only regret is the crib and my Medela breast pump - I should have kept those two things but hopefully someone got great use out of it... Anyways, thanks for thinking of me :0)

How far are you running these days?
Karen, I am now running approximately 15 miles a week. I am now only running 3 days a week sometimes 4 times, depending how I feel. I have increased my maximum distance to 5 miles, typically I run 4 to 4.5 miles at a time and get one 5 mile a week...It sure gets a lot easier the further I run, always the first mile to mile and a half are the worst...I am now listening to Lady GaGa's album, I think that is her name the really weird blond singer, my 15yr old daughter put it on my ipod and it is really good running music, good beat...don't care much for the lyrics. I know how difficult it is to keep moving when pregnant, having four children myself, I used to do water aerobics when I was pregnant, several years ago! Just enjoy your pregnancy and do what you have to do to have a healthy baby, running can always come later if need be. I look forward in reading about your growing family. Oh, I have just started training for my first half marathon in March, with our local Fleet Feet.

As horrible as it is say, I'm glad I'm not the only one that ate themselves sick:(
I thought I was in such control and BAM I really messed up. I'm so glad there is a maintanence program with this because if I was to meet my goal and then be "cut loose" from the program....I would fail.
Again, I am so thankful for the MRC forum and that all you wonderful people are here to be honest and supporting.

Hello all! Decided to pick myself up, brush myself off and start OP over again. I have been MIA for too long. Background--the month of October is when I fulfill all of my hostessing obligations. I hostessed October bookclub ladies, a witches wingding, bunko, neighborhood Halloween party, and then Halloween, oh and add an exchange student from France for 2 weeks. Then we tried to get a late season hurricane....I weighed in at 211 after all that excitement and had got back to 203.5 last Tuesday.
I fully intended to mindfully eat and lose over Thanksgiving, but alas I am right back at 211. I woke up in the middle of the night-- after a last minute fling with mashed potatoes and bread pudding feeling like a truck hit me. To top that off, the zipper of my pants is broken and I swore I was not going to buy any more clothes that were not a size smaller. So I find myself needing to $*(& or get off the pot!
Even though the scale is up higher than it should be, I did have a bit of a woo hoo moment; I was sorting jackets and found something I thought were garage coveralls. Turned out to be a pair of size 22 dress pants I would have been wearing last winter that I can stand in one leg of this year.
I had an OP breakfast and lunch and I got a 30 minute walk in at lunch. Now that there is a slight break until Christmas I am going to work really hard. As much as it pained me to do it, I changed my weight to accurately reflect where I am today, not where I was a few weeks ago. I need the extra accountability so I will be posting instead of lurking!
Nice to see some of the same faces and reading about your successes!

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone .... and now we're all working hard again. I know many of you stayed OP over the holiday .... I did not. I enjoyed small servings of my favorite things, then had company all weekend, who took me out to eat, out to dinner theater, out to a sports bar, Sunday brunch, etc. etc. etc.
I tried to be somewhat careful, but did enjoy what I ate. I am up 3#, which I should have off this week. I don't have any regrets. I enjoyed myself, and now know that by Wednesday, the cravings will be gone and I'll be back to fat burning. So, program here I am!!
Congratulations to all of you and nice to see some "oldies" back!

Forgot to say .... for those of you who order from dietdirect, the concentrates are on sale this week for 7.99, I ordered 24 boxes, so then they are 6.99 and use the coupon code saveme10 to get additional 10% off, and shipping is free over 79 dollars.
For those of you not familiar, these are the identical concentrates the center sells (made at the same plant, only the outside box is different, as every diet center that orders them has them private-labeled. If you're interested, just go to the website and click on weekly sale.
Someone told me the cranberry/green tea ones were really good hot (like tea), so I will try that this time.

Thanks. I hope so. My family last saw me at 290..ehhh..... ehh i dont know! i dont even remember when i saw myself at that. Thing is i always knew i was big, but i never weighed. So i guess i went from being big to bigger, without really realizing it. So i am curious if they will see the difference. They have been telling me to send pics, but i dont want to, since i dont see the difference myself when i look in the mirror. So ... i guess it will be a good surprise, or a bad one, usually my family is my best critic :)
Wish you all the luck and blessings with the new addition to your family on the way ! :)

Nabeel,
So glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving meal. Your family may or may not notice but either way I am sure they will and are proud of your achievements so far. qIt wasn't until I lost almost 35 pounds that people started asking me questions and commenting on how good I looked. I had so many people tell me how nice my hair looked and they really liked the color. Ha, it was just the same as before. It was so funny how people knew something was different but not what! I wish hair dye and a good cut could take 35 pounds off!
Just curious but I have a personal question for you. I won't feel bad if you don't respond but just wondering how you start in Holland and end up in Nebraska?
dkmd27,
So glad you enjoyed your meals! We deserve a small something once in awhile.

Hi Karen...Thanks and congrats on your pregnancy!! I am actually on MRC because my doctor strongly suggested that I lose weight before having a baby...health reasons, etc... She suggested this program. When I get to my goal weight, my husband and I want to plan for a baby. Is there a special menu that you follow when you are pregnant? I am excited that you are posting while you are going through this process so I can see how your doing it !! Again, many blessings during this special time!!

That's very exciting CndLou and thanks for the congrats...
I think that's great motivation to get to your goal :0) It's been an interesting experiment learning to maintain on my own. I've seen mention about a pregnancy maintenance program but my MRC said there was not a plan like this and recommended I just eat sensibly. OK then. So I came up with my own plan. I added an extra carb at my am and pm meal. I added 1 cup of skim milk or yogurt to 2 meals a day. I added an extra fruit as a mid morning snack and finally I added an extra carb with protein (toast with PB or 1 oz of cheese) in the evening before bed. This has worked. I've been able to maintain while sticking with it. If I ever start exercising again, LOL, I will probably add a little more. The OB feels it is safe if I maintain my weight for up to 24 weeks unless it appears the baby is not growing well and then ofcourse I will add more calories. So far so good and I'll keep you all updated as we grow :0)

Deb, Thanks for the info on DietDirect. Can you tell me which name it is, I believe there are 3 different brands they show. Are they the same as MRC's as far as calories and protein amounts? Do they also have creamies that are the same? $6.99 is a great break from $9.00 a box. I'm always all for saving $$$, but I just need to be sure they are the same ingredients. Thanks for your info on this.

I am curious to their responds too. How did i end up in Nebraska... well basically i work for an company that has a plant in Blair,Nebraska ( we produce Lactic Acid, you know that stuff that you feel in your legs when you have worked out). After coming here 3 years ago for a project for a couple of months and basically going on a crazy world tour after that ( for the same company, spending 9 months in Thailand, 2 in Mexico) i was asked to choose a home base. Well i did, and it was surprisingly Omaha, Ne over the sunny beaches of Pattaya, Thailand.
I know i am crazy, but i like it here :)
The reason why i started weightloss is a complete different story tho, which i am not ready to share yet in public, so in due time :)
