I only had 17 to lose and have lost 12 over the past 3 month. Is there a thread that addresses moveing into maintanance? When do you do this and how? I think I would like to be very near goal before I let up too much. Thanks, Lynn

Lynn,
I would suggest reading the book about moving into Maintenance. Keeping the weight off requires changing your eating habits for the rest of your life. That being said, I am not necessarily saying you can't enjoy an occassional indulgence now & then (this does not work for me personally...but...everyone is different)....but, going back to old ways....will only accomplish 1 thing, getting you back to your old weight. Many of us learn this lesson the hard way.
All the best to you!:)

Ok, taking your advice Jerseygyrl, and I am enjoying reading Dr. Atkins book again. ( It had been years-I may have even read the first one before.) So I haven't really gotten to the heart of my question yet. So much to digest in the book. After I'm finished I wil have some questions, but for now I'm going back to phase two and try and find my carb level for OWL. My current goal is to stick as close to phase two through the holidays knowing I'll have a few days where I allow a limited indulgence ( Thanksgiving and Christmas) Then Jan 1, if I stick close to the plan, I'll be moving into phase 3. Yeah. Thanks for your reply. By the way how long have you been at goal?Lynn

Hi Lynn,
I've been on Atkins since 4/13/04 and have been at goal for close to 5 years now:)
For those who say Atkins can't be done long-term....I beg to differ;)
