Help! Need motivation to start C25K!
I had every intention of starting C25K today. Obviously I failed.
For some reason I can't get motivated to do it. I have everything I need to go - shoes, Ipod program, clothes.
I just got to get up off of my butt and do it!
Someone please give me a kick start!

I started Week 1 several times over several months. It was one of the hardest things I'd ever done. When I finally made it, I was shocked to find that W1D2 was a teensiest bit easier than the first day. It wasn't a smooth progression through the program, but I finally graduated from it.
I'm now running up to 4 miles at a time, have 3 5k races under my belt, and training for a 10k in November. You can do it!

You can do it! I just started it too...I'm starting W2/Day1 --
Week 1- The first day ....huffing and puffing, all 90 secs of recovery walking
Week 1- The second day ... huffing and puffing about 60 seconds after each run
!eek 1- The third day (yesterday0 - only 30 secs to recover huffing and puffing
See how each day it gets easier? You can do this! Come on....come on...come on!!! Start today!!!!!W

First thought when I read the title: Sign up for a 5K event--far enough out that you have time to do it, not so far you have time to procrastinate. Pay for that race and put a copy of the logo up where you can see it. Think about the T-shirt you will get ---hey, I do the races for the shirts

XrayChick -- Just tell yourself you'll put your runners on, then step out the door and do your 5 min warm up and a couple of intervals of running/walking... if you feel like doing more do it, and 99.9% of the time you will feel like doing more... But just start by getting your shoes on ....

I got some motivation for ya....
I was about your weight when I started running, using C25k. And I'm now 55 lbs lighter. All from running. How's that for motivation??

Don't know if you have seen this or not, but there seems to be lots of good stuff here
http://www.c25k.com/
Might be good for some motivation!
I need some motivation, too. I've just started and right now I really, really can't imagine running longer than 60 sec.

Fat Pants, that post was enough to get me motivated. I've also been meaning to start the program for the past week. The farthest I got was printing out the schedule. But I may just put on my shoes and run...now, since I can't sleep anymore and I have nothing better to do before work.
Thanks!

I just started the C25k program tonight...after about a week of putting it off. The key for me was finally finding a podcast that I could actually get into. Carli at runningintoshape.com has one of the best C25k podcasts IMO. I was able to complete it without stopping to my surprise! Good luck!

I want to start it, but I am really scared. I have negative motivation and negative time.

I don't actually do this program but I have incorporated something similar with walking and running. I was scared at first too -- afraid -- who is going to watch me -- what if I look like a dork. Put ALL of that aside and just do it!! Take that first step and before you know you will be doing it!! It's that first jog that's the hump!
