Good Morning Chicks! I don't have time to stay right now because I have to go get ready to face the music at JC. I seem to be up a pound. TOM has decided to visit for first time in 8 months. Harumph. My weight is up. I'll be back later.

Rhonda, you sound happy. I know you're enjoying being with Doyle. I wish you could stay in Texas.

Hi Ladies

We had a trying day yesterday our doctor called and LEO was taken off the blood thinner,as it blood was dangerously low.Had to stay with him so I didn't get out. Today the nurse called & my instructions are to watch out of abnormal bleeding and than will have to rush him to ER.

Just wanted to let you know everything is peaceful this morning Leo is sleeping as we both watched the Yankee/Angels game until midnight.NY Yankees are now on their way to the world series.YIPEEE!!!

Another thing I proud of is that I lost 1.5 at my W-I this morning, and now finally I out of the 170's.

VICKIE-Thanks for the new pages. Whatever don't get burned out with JC and your weight. Glad I don't have to worry about TOM or changes anymore.

SLOAN-Glad to hear that your DD is safely tucked away from that loony of a BF. That's one thing a mom will always be worried over her children no matter what age there are. So far so good Leo is resting quietly asleep up stairs.Hope we have a better day.

SANDRA-Thanks,I plan to take a little walk today to sort things out in my head. The days are are all blending into one and must sort them out. Thanks for the congrats.

RHONDA-I'm so happy for you feeling a home with your new neighbors & friends. Right now I alone as a couple of good neighbors & friend moved back to there winter homes and the last one when down to Fla.on Saturday.

Have to go will post later

I got called in to sub today and will be subbing tomorrow also. I'm having a blast! The kids are fantastic. Of course, some are looking for a button to push, but that's normal.

Vickie, you'll get to 40. Remember slow and steady.

Rhonda, I wish you were in Texas to stay, too.

Maryann, I wish you and Leo weren't having to go through this, too. I applaud both of your courage.

Yes, as Sandra said, life certainly takes courage...sometimes more than we think we have.

Vickie, take heart. Really, you'll get there. 40 pounds is less than one pound a week.

That said, I had better not eat any more Bluebell ice cream! I'm not even going to get on the scales for a week. I leave Texas this evening and it's back to exercise Thursday morning. It's been raining so much here that I've been outside only in the car almost. Sandra told me last night that she is living in the middle of lake!

OK, be good everyone. I've got to go shopping. (We bought a beautiful leather couch yesterday which will be delivered tomorrow. It's sort of a cognac color and vaguely western in look.)

Good Morning Ladies:)

Here's to another day, can't believe that this is the last week of Oct. and that winter is just around the corner.

Leo had another bad night, with his coughing bout,TG he finally got to sleep and I have another morning where I can find time to post.

Thanks for all the congratulate, not worried about my weight, but I glad that I'm out of the 170's and now I can concentrate on getting out of the 160's. Before the holidays come up.

VICKIE-Thanks for the congrats, don't worry you'll get to the 40 mark, didn't you eat something with lots of sodium in it. that what happens to me ,when I go up.

SANDRA-Glad that you had a good day subbing. Your right kids will be kids they see how far they can go.Thanks,I wish that Leo would get better and that we could have a normal life together again.

RHONDA-The traveling back and forth must take a tole on you.Your cough color sound beautiful. Never had a leather cough but my DD loves hers,so easy to keep clean.

Have to go,will be back later

Sorry about Leo's bad night, Mary Ann, but I'm glad he's resting now. I got my first TOM in 8 months so I'm blaming the lack of loss on it. This too shall pass.

Wow...oddly quiet around here. I did NOTHING yesterday. I didn't even exercise because I was feeling sorry for myself. It actually probably would have helped the cramps but I didn't want to. Today I will be on the treadmill. I got up at 3:30. Couldn't sleep. I was hot and HUNGRY! Weird.

Anywhooooo....I have my kidney specialist appointment for November 13th. Now I'm just going to put it out of my head until then.

I hope you are all well. I AM on program. Are you?

Good morning all:

To answer your question Vickie, I'm back in Toronto now.

I had said that I would not get on the scales, but I did. I'm very happy to report that I did not gain. I even lost about .5 pounds. :woohoo:

So, it's back to the office for me today. It is a dreary day: raining, windy and cold. It's a day to drink tea and read novels, but that's not for me today.

The couch is beautiful. It's not as beautiful as the $8,000 red leather one was! We didn't buy that one, even though I love red. ;)

Maryann, I'm glad to read that you've got a goal for yourself even in the middle of all the chaos. I'd be willing to bet that you make it.

BBL,
Rhonda

Good Morning Ladies:)

Nothing new, going to try to get my exercising done today once we get back from the doctors. I have no idea how long its going to be this losing of mine with adding some kind of activity.

VICKIE-Don't feel ashamed about feel sorry for yourself, its a way of life.Especially when you have cramps, take it easy. The body doesn't send us strange signals, sometimes it wants to eat like there's no tomorrow and other times in my case now I don't feel hungry being on the go. It will straighten its self out and you lose big again. Hope the kidney specialist appointment will go good for you. Oh Yes I'm on Program and and hope to find more losses on the scale before the holidays start showing up.

RHONDA-Congrats on your .5 loss. That terrific with all the moving back & forth from Texas to Toronto and back. Thanks,I really like to get out of the 170's and now that I'm out I don't want to get back in there again,so me being realistic I'm aiming for .5-1 per week for Nov and than again in Dec.

Hey chicks, boy have I had a crazy couple of days. We had to leave for East Tennessee in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday to help DH. The BF drama finally came to a head, and she needed backup. Currently she has a court date for an order of protection hearing, and he has been notified by campus police that if he even speaks to her he will be arrested. The realtor for the house that they were living in was wonderful, and we are pretty sure they are going to let her out of the lease. We are back home now, and she texted me earlier to let us know that things are quiet today. :dizzy:

Maryann, I'm still praying for you and Leo. I'm glad the doctor's office was on top of things with his blood thinner. Congrats on the loss! It's just not a fun way to lose weight!!!

Sandra, I'm glad you are having fun with the subbing. Three of my students "snuck out" of class today while I had a sub. Uh oh!! They will be in trouble tomorrow!

Rhonda, congrats on the "weight gain free" ice cream. Where can I get some of that?

Vickie, I have had the "cycle crazies" too! Skip a few months then TOM is here again! It is very irritating. You know you WILL get that weight off if you just keep at it!! You can do this; don't give up!

I have to get some school work done, since I was away for two days. I'll check in later.

Rhonda, your new couch sounds gorgeous. I am anxious to see it. And congratulations to you on that weightloss. It came even after flying. That's great.

Maryann, I hope you and Leo can get back to a normal life in the near future. I am praying for you both.

Sloan, I'm glad ya'll were able to help dd. And your students sneaking out? What grade is that? I had someone call down to the AG building Friday to ask for "his son" to meet him in the office. I called the office and they called the real dad. I thought that was sort of funny. Anyway, the "son" was extremely quiet during class.

Vickie, are you feeling better now? I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

I did wi at home again this week and had lost about half a pound. Nothing to be excited about. I have basically maintained the last 3 weeks. And I'm not maintaining even in the 170's. Wish I were. I'm hoping to visit the 180's soon. When I get there, I'm kissing the 190's good-bye forever this time.

sloanie
10-28-2009, 08:39 PM
Sandra, my students that snuck out were in the ninth grade. They don't know that I know, but I'm sure that the sub has already reported them. I can't imagine why they thought they would not get caught.

Thanks again for the words of encouragement about DD. I talked to her this evening, and she is okay. I am kinda concerned about her court date for the order of protection. At least three policemen have told us the judge might be lenient because she never had to call the police on him. I would really hate for her to go through that and not get a favorable judgement. All she wants is for him to stay away from her. If you chicks have any info on such things, let me know.

Also, Sandra, I'm not maintaining right now either. I'm still in whining mode, and quite frankly, I'm getting sick of hearing myself whine. I'm at least hoping to start walking with my friend before school again. I plan to ask her tomorrow.

Have a great evening chicks!

Sloan, that sounds like something freshman might do.

Curtis and I are still doing :ebike:to help us lose. I just haven't been doing enough. I did 30 min today.

As to Lake Curtis and Sandra--it's still here and now we are under another flast flood watch till tomorrow night. It's supposed to start raining around 10 pm tonight.

I contacted Jackson and Perkins to ask them how to treat my roses. They gave me some tips. I had already sprayed some commercial disease control on them earlier this week so I won't start their home remedy suggestions till next week. So far, I don't think we're losing any plants but they are looking sickly.

Sloan, has your daughter spoken to any family violence/date violence people in the town she is in? They might know about particular judges' practices. It's quite variable.

However, she should know that when women try to leave they are the most vulnerable, sometimes. Who knows? He might leave her alone since she has left already.

Even if the courts don't do much, the university can do some things to keep him away from her. At least, we can and do here in Toronto. You might look at the university's website under safety and harassment??? or something like that.

Sandra, don't diminish half a pound! I don't...it's gone! And that's 1/2 way to a whole pound, which is 1/2 of two, etc...

I gotta go to bed. My cold has really got me tonight.

Hey chicks, all's quiet on the boyfriend front today. I did talk to my walking buddy, but I don't think she is interested. I've got to walk, so I'm gonna download a book on my ipod and take off. I'll let you know how it goes.

Rhonda, we did speak to campus security, and they were great. She has their number in her phone, and they called him to let him know what they expected of him on campus. They also notified student services, but I'm not sure if they talk to professors or not. Kendal is being very cautious about going out alone and is keeping watch just in case. Her order of protection hearing is Nov. 10, and I have spoken to an advocate in her town to make sure we are ready. She has spoken to a few friend who will appear as witnesses, and she will also have printed transcripts of the threatening text messages he sent to her friends on her behalf.

Sandra, I hope the water receeds soon and your roses survive. It is very frustrating to work so hard on something then have them destroyed.

Vickie, I'm with you. This week has flown by.

Maryann, I'm glad you are able to get outside. That exercise will really help with stress.

Doesn't Rhonda sound all authoritative and knowledgeable on the subject? It's so cute that we all have alter egos and professional lives (well I did at one time). I just think of us all as the sweet ladies here.

Mary Ann, I hope the activity is helping you. You do certainly have to take care of yourself.

Sloan, walking is great exercise. I'm glad you're doing it. Sounds like everything's under control with dd. That's good.

Vickie, our home is all right. I am worried about the roses, though. They are already covered with blackspot. Their bed is raised so they are not in standing water. The ground is saturated, though. We have about 3 or 4 inches of standing water out front. The standing water is about 10 feet or a little more away from the house. It's about 10 yards long and 5 or 6 yards wide.

We lucked out today and didn't get any more rain. East of the DFW area got clobbered as did Houston. We may get more rain tomorrow but after that skies should be clear for several days.

But, it's really good that they called him and told him how to behave. But, what are the consequences if he does not. Here, he could be banned from campus and/or thrown out.

Maryann, I'm still prayin'! How's Leo doing? Is anything serious going on? I'm glad they put him in ICU.

Rhonda, they told Kendal that if she needed to call them, they would arrest him on the spot. They do have one class together, and it is tied to their scholarships. It is chorale, and there are about 100 people in that class. So far, he has been on his best behavior. He has not spoken to her or even tried to come near her. She e-mailed her chorale professor, so he knows and won't take any @#*% off of her ex. He would not hesitate to kick him out if he caused any problems. I'm just hoping he decides to transfer to Ohio State to be near his parents as they just moved there. I appreciate your expertise, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know.

Vickie, it is funny to think of us as professionals or former professionals. I'm like you, I just think of us as "the nice ladies" too.

Sandra, I walked alone this morning, and I felt good just for making the effort. I do think my friend will start walking with me in the next couple of weeks. I am still not eating well, but that will come.

We both shot well. I won 1st in mine and Curtis won 2nd in his division. We received good-looking medals. The funny thing is all competitors were presented commemorative T-shirts that had sponsors listed on the back. Two of the sponsors--SAS Shoes and Luby's Cafeteria. Old folks stuff!
