UK Fat Chicks - Weekly wiegh in thread number 9!

Does anybody fancy getting the weekly weigh ins going again. Remember we used to log our gains and losses and Sarah tallied them all for us on a Monday. How about we start doing it again.
I don't mind doing the tallying if you don't mind waiting until next Monday
It used to inspire me and I used to love looking at how well other people were doing
If you fancy we could all log our losses (or gains) this week on what ever day we weigh in and I'll look up Sarahs last running total and tally it all up from there next Monday
Feel free to tell me to take a running jump

Just had to say I will almost definately show a gain next week - as I like wine too much when I am on holiday.
Just had to point that out that - won't just be losers on this thread - we all slip and believe me I have most definately

Good idea Carol :D
I completely agree Carol it was always a big incentive to me to log my weekly weigh ins and see how well everyone else was doing too. I was really disappointed when I came on last week to log last weeks weigh in because the week before I hadn't managed to get online with working so long. no one else seemed to have been here for ages :(
Well this past week for me has been a pretty good one, I stuck well with the eating plan and managed to get my normal sessions in at the gym and the scales on friday showed another loss of 1lb so I was pretty happy with it. of course I would have been happy to see more loss, but any loss is a good one :)
I may not be logging any weight loss for the next couple of weeks though...next friday I am working all day and it looks really busy so I probably wont get the chance to go and be weighed and the following friday I am going up to Glasgow for the weekend...I will of course be weighing myself, but as it wont be at my regular time I wont be recording the weight as accurate :)
Hope everyone else wants to start this thread going again
Have a great weekend everyone :)

Hello Everyone. :)
I just joined slimming world tonight, starting weight 19 st 9 lbs (thank god they don't read it out in class :o ). So, no gains or losses to report until next week, but I wanted to delurk. I've been reading this board since the beginning of June.
Horrible weather here in Scotland. I walked 25 mins through a thunderstorm to get to my class - felt very determined. :smug:
MiniGem.
Welcome minigem
it's nice to see a new name on here :)
Congratulations on taking that first step and walking through a thunderstorm for 25 minutes to get to class...that would have been so easy to use as an excuse to put it off for another week and not go so well done to you :)

Hi
I too am starting back to SW next week (half price joiing) although I admit that find their diet very boring as you have to be very strict about convenience foods. I love, for instance, breaded fish (not fried) it is mega, so I think I will be following the WW diet but keeping it hush hush. Its the weigh in that is important to me;-)
Keep up the good work!

Do most people go to slimming clubs for the weigh in? I have never been to one I guess the weigh in keeps you on track? I looked at the online sins on slimmimg worlds web site once and my fave veggie burger from tesco was about 15! But its only about 250/300 cals :(
Was that on a Red or Green Day Veggie? I expect that was due to the fat content!

Hi everyone
hope you are all surviving the torrential rain.:)
well another good week for me to report and another 2lbs lost :)
it will be time for me to put into practice all the advice I give to other people on monday night because my sister is taking me out for a meal. Although I have been to parties and things since I started this diet and manged to stick to my calorie allowance, I have never actually been out to a restaurant for a meal, but now with only another 2 stone 8lbs to go to reach my target I will definitely be keeping my mind on that and making sure I make the best choice available for my meal :)
Hope you are all having a good weekend

Did a mid week weigh in as I need to know how much damage I have done while I was away and I missed my weigh in this week. I am up 3lbs - am quietly chuffed that it was only 3lbs I tend to be a big pig when I am on holiday and usually put on about half a stone. Can say without a shadow of a doubt though that those 3lbs are all wine !!!!!!
Hopefully when I weigh in on Thursday as usual I will have managed to shift one of them.
Will work out the stats tomorrow - will probably be the evening before I can post them.
Enjoy the meal out Ali you deserve it
Veggie I used to go to slimming clubs just for the weigh in
Hello minigem
Well done carol 3lbs gain is not bad after a holiday and once you get back on track it will soon be gone :)
I just spent the afternoon in my sister in laws swimmingpool playing water volleyball I had a great time, that should have burnt off a few calories so I can have a little bit of a treat tomorrow evening :)
I fully intend to have a good meal.
I was surprised I had a good weight loss again this week because once again although it is only 16 days since TOM paid its visit, it arrived again yesterday so although I wont be able to get weighed next week because I am going up to Glasgow for the weekend it has given me encouragement for a good loss the week after :)
Veggie I once joined slimming world and started to follow the diet but after I had lost a couple of stone the weight loss stopped and I went back to following a 1500 calorie a day diet, but I kept on going to the club just to get weighed I lost another 2 stone while I was doing that and then moved away to stoke which was my excuse for stopping the diet again that time :)

Right - i have spent the summer not on plan but trying to eat healthily and managed to gain 8lb!!! From today i am back on plan and will report my weight every week on a tuesday as i used to - which should hopefully spur me on to stick to the plan. At the moment i have neither the time or the money to attend classes but i am relying on you people here to keep me on the straight and narrow when i need to.
Veggie, you i am now back up to the same weight as you so we can now do this together and challenge each other on a weekly basis if you like. This week i would like to loose 2lb - how about you?

Well, first week on the diet (sorry, healthy eating plan!) and I have a 3 lb loss to report. :D
I was somewhat put to shame by a couple that restarted slimming world at the same time I joined last week. Their losses today were 5 lb for the woman and 8 lb for the man! Bloddy ****!
Do men lose weight quicker than women, or is that just a myth?
I think the hot/muggy weather has finally broken. Perhaps I'll actually do some exercise this week. Hmm, maybe. ;)

BritinNJ
08-19-2002, 12:03 PM
You are NOT a failure Veggie. You are a lovely human being, stop stressing right now luv.
You have lost weight before and you can do it again. You have to want to do it though. I think that's where I am right now, I do want to lose weight, but can fit happily into all of my clothes, in fact some of them are loose on me from my initial weight loss, so I am being naughty in putting off starting back on plan until I start back to work full time in September. I actually remember weighing 11 stone about 15 years ago and thinking I was fat and I would never wear shorts or show any leg if I could help it. Now look at me, add four stone to this body and I live in shorts and have even bared my belly in front of a total stranger and allowed him to make a hole in it!!! I'm either more comfortable with myself or I am just plain mad....a complete nutter as hubby would say.
No matter though, I am happy with myself, my life and me as an individual cos I know I am a nice person albeit a fat one.
So Veggie my dear, head up high, have a cry if you want, but know that you are NOT a faliure, you have been a Godsend to me since I started reading this page, you have great wit and have made me giggle more than once and I like you :)
Well do this together if you want, let me know ok.
Take care, Love Chris. x

I have another really busy week ahead of me with a lot of meals out no doubt where i am never able to make the sensible choice. I am also starting a new job this week so i am really nervous and always eat at times like this! and at the end of all that i have a birthday to celebrate so god knows what will happen next week.
Best just keep battling away i suppose and try and take the sensible options.

Hiya All
I'm a newbie & I would love to join this thread, please! I've finally got myself motivated again (I think) now that my son's 5 months old. I tried rejoining WW a few weeks ago but it really didn't turn out to be a good night for me, so I'm going to restart a different one on Wednesday morning. My aim is to weigh in at less than I weighed at my last weigh-in, which was 3/4 weeks ago. Not that I'll weigh in at much less, because I've had a couple of really bad weeks around my daughter's birthday.
Can i just say how nice it is to talk to people who have a lot of weight to lose?! I'm sick of seeing slimming mags where the most people have lost is about 2 stone. Not to knock their achievement; I just find it very hard to relate to them, that's all! At my heaviest, I was over 18 stone, & I'm sure they probably couldn't relate to that very well, either! At my last weigh-in I was 16st 8, & I'd ultimately like to be about 10st 7 - just to give me a little bit of leeway to stay within the healthy weight range, as I'm 5' 6".
I'm sure someone mentioned Atkins? Sorry - I've just read through really quickly; & I don't even know if that's been replied to in another thread or whatever, but I have to say that 2 friends of my husbands have read that it is extremely dangerous & have immediately stopped it - i don't know the details myself.
Let you all know how i get on on Wednesday.

Hiya Ali
One of the very first things I did after looking at the forum was to check out your website; & I can only say that it's inspirational! I mailed the url to a friend straight away because she has a lot of weight to lose, like me, & she finds it very disheartening at times. I told her to imagine how you must have felt at the start, with such a long way to go ahead of you, & how you must feel now, when you're getting so close to your goal.
Congratulations on your amazing acheivement so far, & thanks for being such an inspiration - it certainly helped me to get focussed!
Thanks Shell
I'm glad you found my website an inspiration, If I can help just one person reach their goals by putting it online for everyone to see then it has all been worthwhile.
It was difficult at the start to come to terms with knowing how long it was going to take to reach my final goal...all I could think was that I wouldn't feel any different before I did...that isn't the case...the more weight I lose the more things I discover I can do...they may only be tiny little things and things that people who have never had a weight problem take for granted...you know the sort of things...running up the stairs 2 at a time...instead of dragging yourself up each one and stopping for breath on the third...but those things are big achievements when you have never been able to do it before.
If I could bottle up and sell the feelings I have now, I would be a millionaire...mind you after saying that, if it were possible to bottle up how I felt I would give it away free...everyone deserves to feel like this :)

I'm the friend Shell mentioned, I spent well over an hour reading your diary journal last night and to say i was impressed was an understatement! I am honestly amazed by your willpower and thrilled by your well-deserved success.
I recently rejoined Weight-Watchers again and in the first two weeks lost 5lb. Unfortunately I can't get to the meeting this week due to work commitments tomorrow (usual weigh-day) and then going away for a few days. and because I'm not being weighed I am not managing to be as good as usual, I've not gained but not lost either. I shall be relieved to go back next week!
I would like to post my weekly loss to the group, is this the thread where I do this? I've looked in so many places on this website that I'm getting confused!

Hi Helen welcome to 3fc don't get confused just ask if there's owt you don't get! Glad to see you :D
Hi Helen
Its very nice to meet you :)
I know what you mean too, it is so easy to slip up when you know you aren't going to be weighed. Even after so long I still do it....My weight loss has slowed down a lot since I started and someone advised me to only weigh myself once a month instead of once a week, but I know that definitely wouldn't work for me....I need the constant threat of those scales each week or I would be forever just saying to myself ....Oh go on I can have just one piece of chocolate, I have at least 3 weeks to make up for it and I know that would be my downfall and not something I am prepared to do after getting this far.
Congratulations on your 5lbs lost so far, its a great start...just keep remembering that...If you have a bad week this week, don't let it put you off, just put it behind you and get right back on track starting afresh...when you have a lot of weight to lose, there will be many times along the road that you make mistakes, the main thing is how you deal with those mistakes...you can either feel guilty about it and dwell on them...or you can just put it down to one bad day and forget about it and start again.
The longer you fret about mistakes...the more lkikely you are to give up...so just take the mistakes as a lesson and learn how not to repeat them.
Just keep hanging in there. I have said this so often, but the rewards are definitely worth all the effort. :)
I just noticed you are from Staffordshire...where abouts...I lived in Burslem in stoke on trent for about 5 years I moved back to manchester, my home town just over a year ago.
Good luck for thursday Carol I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you:)
Congratulations on your 4.5lbs TQ keep up the good work :)

Hi
Thanks to everyone for their welcome.
I knew today and yesterday were going to be difficult because I work at a College and we've been bogged down in enrolment for the last couple of days. Even though its not been as busy as usual its still tiring and I've felt very much out of routine. I haven't been bad but haven't been too good either. I'm off to Wales to visit my parents for a couple of days now; they eat very healthily (dad has angina) so I'm hoping that I will manage to stay on track for the time I'm away so next week I can show a reasonable loss.
Ali, I agree; I really need the weekly weigh-in to keep me going, and doing it at home just doesn't work for me. I also need the motivation that the WW meeting gives me so need to make sure I stay to the talk.
I live in Burton on Trent so I'm not too far from Stoke and know a few people who do live there but can't say I know it at all well.
Don't worry about your newsletter, although I see you have produced one since your post about it. Now I feel guilty:o :(
Good luck to Carol, and anyone else who is about to weigh-in

I kind of thought I'd lost weight (stuck to the diet) but I also got my period, so I don't know how that affected things.
Good luck to the rest of you. :)

Well stood on the scales this morning and weighed the same again - despite having been down a pound yesterday morning - serves me right for scale hopping yesterday. So now I have a full week to be serious and pull off a drop in that scale for next week.
I am going to do I am I am Iam

Wa-hoo! After my not so good falling off the wagon, this mornings weigh in on the scale said 213! So I am a happy bunny...thanks for the help this week girls.
GRRRRRRR...I just spent the last 10 minutes typing here then hit the ctrl button by mistake and everything went...so here we go again :)
Helen...don't feel guilty about the newsletter...I really needed a kick in the pants to make me get something done...joining the mailing list was really what I needed to spur me into action...so Thank You :)
Mini Gem, isn't TOM a complete pain....I hate it when I know I have been really good and expect a good loss and it arrives and spoils the party....don't let it get you down though you hang in there and I am sure you will see a good loss next week :)
BritinNJ...well done on your loss...now aren't you proud of yourself for finding the strength to not give in...I'm proud of you :)
Carol...I know what you mean about scale hopping....as you all know by now I am the first person to tell you never weigh yourself more than once a week, but I do it all the time ...especially this past 2 weeks. At last weeks weigh in I was down to 13 stone 4lbs and all this week I have been hopping on and off the scale almost every time I have gone into the kitchen...I swear I have been on them so much even though the battery is guaranteed for 25 years I think it may be in danger of running out
The reason I was on it so much is that I tell myself it is ok to get on them as often as I like because I weigh what the scale says at the time I stand on them...but I never record anything as accurate unless it is taken at 1 o/clock on a friday afternoon...all this past week the scale has said between 13 stone 1lb and 13 stone and I just desperately wanted to see it say 12 stone something...I wouldn't have been disappointed when it came to my regular weigh in time if it didn't say 12 stone something, I just wanted to see it ...does that make any sense?
Well todays weigh in time arrived and the scales said 13 stone...another 4lbs lost this week and I anm thrilled about it...just need to keep up all the hard work for next week and make sure I see it say 12 stone something ...no prizes for guessing who will be scale hopping this week eh :)
TOM is due next week so that could spoil my party...fingers crossed .
I just looked at my signature...it just seems totally amazing where it says total amount of weight to lose 200lbs and now the total amount left to lose is just 28lbs ...I still can't quite believe it :)
good luck to everyone for their weigh ins this week :)

Heres the losses for last week
BritinNJ = -2

Mini Gem = 0
Posy = -4
TQ = -7.5 = 2 weeks losses
Giving us a total this week of 13.5lbs and an overall total of 3 stone and 0.5 pounds, (42.5lbs)
My TOM arrived this morning which may ruin my big weigh in on Thursday, I have been an angel I want to see the scale move. I know if it doesn't this week it will next week, but I need to see it shift, just a little bit
Come back Sarah you were much better organised at keeping the weights than I am

Thanks Carol for doing the weekly round up. :)
My weigh-in was a bit better this week. I lost 1 lb.
I did feel a bit annoyed as I was hoping for more after maintaining last week (TOM?) but keeping to my diet both weeks. I think I should add a wee bit more exercise to my routine.
I cheered up when I found out that I was joint second for slimmer of the month for August! :D The guy that won it really deserved it though, he lost another 4lbs tonight and got slimmer of the week too. His wife and I had both lost half a lb less than him in August.
While I'm here I'm just going to recommend M&S count on us Chocolate Honeycomb or Toffee ice cream. Both are very tasty. And Fox's big softies mini chocolate bites. They're just half a sin each on slimming world. Guess what I just had for dessert? :sssh:

I had been showing a 4lb gain over the last two weeks and am not going to class today but my scales (which are pretty accurate) show I've now lost 3lb of that gain.
I don't know if you want to include this in your tally of weight loss on this thread though as its not an "official" weigh-in.
I'm just so glad i didn't binge yesterday as I feel so much more positive now the scales have gone down a bit more!:D

Hi
I have never been to a slimming club as they are so expensive but I am waiting for an appointment with the Dietician at my Doctors. In the mean time I am weighing myself each week.
I lost 3 pounds since the 28th August, not a lot but I like it. I was 12 stone 4 pounds and now weigh 12 stone 1 pound.
How does the weigh in thing work? When and where do we post it or is that a daft question?
My husband is also trying to lose weight with me and we both need as much incentive to keep going as possible as we always start out well but end up back to the old way of eating. Yes I am a yoyo dieter but this time I am determined not to give up. I need and more importantly want to lose the weight. It will help me lower my cholesterol and ease the pain from my arthritis.

Hi everyone
sorry this post is late but due to work I haven't had chance to get on before now.
Well TOM did arrive and spoil the party, and I have also decided to change my weigh in day to saturday as I am now working all day froidays and can't get away to be weighed. so at least on a saturday I can guarantee I can always get weighed at the same time coz I don't work saturdays..thank god :)
Well as I said TOM arrived but thankfully I stayed the same weight didn't gain anything so I was more than happy with that....That magical 12 stone 13 is still the incentive to hang in there this week, plus the fact that it is only 3 weeks to my birthday...I knew I wouldn't be at my goal weight but I set myself another target of getting below 12 stone 10lbs for then, so far that is still possible, to be honest I think I would be thrilled just to get under 13 stone :)
Well done to everyone who had a loss this week...as for the rest of us who stayed the same or even gained...keep your chin up and just hang in there

Weight this week 11 stone 9 pounds
Starting weight 12 stone 4 pounds
Goal to reach 9 stone
First acheivable goal 11 stone.
Height 5 feet 2 inches
Not a bad start at least I am losing around 2 pounds a week. I am planning on small goals that way I don't get put off by the whole thing of having to lose 3 stone.

I'm starting our new week off badly - a 1 lb gain. Not really sure why, unless I was building muscle because I did more walking.
For the first time in the two years I've been here, I walked the 2.5 miles from university to my flat. Twice in one week, too! Not sure if that's really enough to be muscle building though. My consultant seemed to think that I must be doing something wrong with the diet to have had a gain, but I think it's a bit dramatic of her really, I'll wait and see if it becomes a pattern before I panic.
Anyway, well done everyone else - that was a great weeks work last week. :D

Not a good week for me I have been feeling a bit down. My arthritis has been playing up and is very painful so I hit the comfort foods. :(

Didn't want to hijack the birthday post - so new post.
I am still with you all - I have been writing down everything I have been eating - however outrageous - but have been going to the gym at least 3 times a week (normally 5 times) and I have noticed a weight loss and inch loss.
I have decided to be strict from tomorrow (1st of the month) and rejoin WW. Imagine if I can lose weight by exercising, what a difference actually monitoring what I am eating will make. I am quite good about actually going to the gym even when I don't want to, but I think I need the accountability of a public weekly weigh in also.
Congrats to all you losers/gainers/stayers - we've all been there:dizzy:

just came into this one now, and feeling left out so adding myself Chris = 0 :)
Hi everyone just a flying visit while my emails download and then I need to get to work
Thanks all for the birthday wishes...I had a fantastic time doing just what I wanted to do....They did manage to get me to have a meal in the end, but it was at the pub where I wanted to go to in the first place, but they told the pub how many people were going and they closed off the top floor of the pub for us..so those that wanted to eat could and those that didn't could still stay up there and just drink without disturbing anyone else not in our party who had gone just to eat..which was really nice. I was very good and had a salad and a jacket potato.
Afterwards we all went back to my sisters, where they had decorated the house with birthday banners and balloons, it really was great.
my hubby had made the biggest chocolate cake I have ever seen for me, he said he looked to find a recipe for a low calorie cake but couldn't find one and he thought...oh what the heck..she wont eat it anyway so he went all out and made one for everyone else to enjoy....I swear there must have been about 100000 calories in that cake...but I did eat some of it and I don't regret it at all....I cut down on my calories for 3 days before saturday and I cut down again on sunday so I think I have made up for anything that I ate over my limit on saturday...If I have gained anything this week I am not going to beat myself up about it...it was worth it and I think just this once I deserve it...now I am going all out to reach my final goal...this is definitely the home stretch :)
Today is also my 20th wedding anniversary and I am cooking a meal for us both...no danger in me overeating today :)
I got the new digital camera that I wanted and took some pictures on saturday night I will try and get them posted on my webpage when I get home, but being my wedding anniversary I'm not sure hubby will be too thrilled if I spend it on the computer so it may be tomorrow before I get it done.
Well better go...work calls :)
Have a great day everyone

Cheated a bit here and stepped on the scales, buI have good news cos it showed a four pound loss from last week...wonder why it showed today after one day of being on track, after a bit of a naughty weekend?
Have a great week everyone. Ali, your hubbys chocolate cake sounds scrummylishus, I'm glad you ate some and enjoyed it, cos you certainly do deserve it :)

Chris, I have decided that scales are more tempremental than men !!
Glad you had a good time Ali, wish I could be as focused.
WW today, new offical weigh in day, Gained 4.5lbs - thought it was 5.5 - said so on the other thread, but it is only 4.5 - just checked with my footnote. So I gained this week and will no doubt undo everybodies hard work in the group total, but I think most of the gain is down to the different scales, different time of day and the fact that I couldn't strip naked in the church hall to weigh in. So onwards and downwards to next Tuesday.

Carol, well done on going to WW. See how your weigh in was less than you thought, that's a nice way to start back on programme isn't it luv. Glad you did it, cos you do sound focused to me. I love the fact that you're brave enough to post your journal, I have had a read and you not only make me laugh with your ways of words but the fact that you are so honest about yourself is such good character :) I truly reckon you are back on track so here's to you and a great week.
Take care.
Chris.
Carol its nice when you don't gain as much as you think you have...don't think of it as a gain anyway, just take it as a new start...you are doing great ...just hang in there :)

Ali - you look amazing! Now where did you say you got those shoes...... :s:
Thanks everyone :)
I just put a few more pics on the webpage which was more of a challenge than it should have been...all the files kept getting corrupted as I tried to upload them...I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong I saved them all to different formats and still no luck. I finally gave up and went off to check my emails and found one from angelfire telling me they were having trouble with the servers ...it wasn't me at all...oh well...it kept me from snacking which is a good thing...TOM is due this week and I always used to get really hungry around this time...over the past few months I haven't been too bad, but this week I seem to have gone back to how I used to be and if anything looks remotely like food, I could eat it...the dog is starting to look very worried :)
I haven't given in to any temptation though...I've come to far to blow it all now :)
Thanks Chris I love that dress too...the only thing I don't like is that it shows off all the flabby loose skin on my upper arms...but I can always wear a cardigan to hide it :)
Carol there are loads of people who don't recognise me now, especially as I now have very short red hair...for the last 20 odd years it has always been very long and Black.
BPB....I got the shoes off a stall on the local market...only cost me £10 and I love them :

Oh I am so peed off, I have gained a lb, now i tried to be cheerful when 2 weeks ago I only lost 1/2 then when i stayed the same last week I thought well it will be a good loss next week..........and now I am a lb heavier so that means I am half a pound heavier than I was 3 weeks ago, i hate those bloody scales...sorry for my swearing............help me.
Strange thing is I have on my tightest trousers today and they glided on, no lying down to fasten the zip etc!!!!!

10-05-2002, 06:25 AM
Hi Michelle - I'm sorry you gained 1lb - but remember how well you've done - you've lost about 5 stone for heaven's sake!! and don't those tight trousers feel great???
Hi everyone
you and me both TQ...I'm pretty naffed off too :)
All week I have been checking the scale to see how things were going after the party and up to yesterday they said the same as last weeks weigh in, so I was really pleased...then suddenly yesterday there was a massive gain of 9lbs...I felt really bloated and had all the telltale signs of TOM...I think I knew it was due this week, I had just forgotten...maybe it was because I was just feeling so happy at reaching my birthday goal I didn't want to spoil the feeling by thinking about TOM. Well it made an appearance this morning, so this weeks weigh in is very disappointing with a gain of 2lbs...but at least that is better than the 9lbs that the scales were showing yesterday...I think I would have been suicidal if I had to show a gain of 9lbs even though I know the reason. Well I think I do...obviously TOM is playing a big part in that gain, the other thing I did think about was did I over compensate for my birthday and not eat enough...I really could have done with TOM staying away for another week just so I would have a better idea. But there is no point dwelling on it. Of course I am disappointed about having a gain, but I am not depressed. I am right back on track, though I have to admit, I don't really feel as though I have been off track at all...I did find it difficult yesterday to stay within my calorie allowance, because I just felt so hungry all day, but that is normal during TOM...no matter how much I eat I still feel hungry....I ended up going to bed early so that I wouldn't eat something I wasn't supposed to eat.
So sod the scales TQ, ignore what the numbers say and just go off how your clothes look and feel, that is the main thing after all .
Hang in there girl your doing great :)
Ali

Hi all, well I am feeling much better today,I have symptoms similar to IBS and have got so used to it that I didn't realise how constipated I was, I don't know if my fluid intake is too low (though it wasn't last night..the empty wine bottles in the kitchen prove that!!) but I must make more of an effort with the water, starting right now:nono:
Well hopefully I have got over yesterdays weigh in and am just going to get over it and get on with it. There really isn't any alternative is there, it is only a number. Ali proved this with her 9lb gain overnight, it is just not possible is it??

Had a very phyilsophical (sp) discussion about time last night with a couple of drunks, all about what is time how was it decided that they would be 60 minutes in an hour, what is a second, do we really exist, if we are all flat what is our understanding of height ? On the same jist - what is a pound, why did we decide that a pound would be a pound, what does a stone really mean, is it something we as humans have just dreamed up or is really relevant and important. Was too sober for the conversation last night, think I still am but it does make you wonder if our drunk minds, might have something........
Glad you are feeling a bit brighter TQ

Yes! Yes Yes!
Despite eating a whole bowl of trifle, a pack of jaffa biscuits, half a pack of shortbread and a 14 sin bottle of soup I have lost!
13.5 1/2 last week down to 13.2 1/2 this week.
I started on 22 July at 13.12 so this is not bad if a little bit slow but I would rather that than lose a whole damn lot and get 'cocky' and put on loads.
How has everyone else done?

Whooops I forgot to say it was a massive 4lb gain.
I'll get me coat......
Hi everyone
last week was a pretty bad week I was really suffering with TOM...over the past few months it has been arriving every 2 weeks, the one good thing about that was that it was never very heavy and only lasted about 3 days, and I didn't get as much pain...this month however it seemed to have remembered it was only supposed to arrive once a month and I have felt aweful...I was so bloated and crampy I just haven't felt like doing anything.....I still made myself get up early and do a workout before I left for work...I kept telling myself it would make me feel better....I'm not sure it did...but it did take my mind of the stomach cramps while I was doing it :)
Weigh in day wasn't great I hadn't put anything on, but I hadn't lost anything either which was slightly disappointing. But after saying that I have been on the scales every day last week because I was curious to see just how badly this TOM was affecting me and on wednesday I was showing a gain of 26lbs...can you believe that....I didn't panic though because I know I hadn't done anything wrong....next week I should have a better weigh in day.
On saturday afternoon my hubby bought me some new trousers and a new top...size 16's....I looked at the top and thought it looked so tiny and it would never fit me. But it did...perfectly...the trousers however, were a different story...they are way too big...I am going to have to take them back for a smaller size...It feels so great to be able to say that :) and certainly made me feel much better at staying the same weight this week...onwards and downwards for next week :)

I only gained 2lbs this evening. Was very surprised after all the eating and drinking I did at the weekend. Taking into consideration that I weighed in after eating my lunch and dinner and all the fluid I drank during the afternoon. I normally weigh in before lunch, so taking that into consideration a 2lb gain is ok. And also the fact the moon is in capricorn - think I did OK. Only kidding about the moon bit
But 2lbs is 2lbs and I am determined they will be gone by next Tuesday lunchtime

Ok one pound back on:( so back up to 11 stone 8 pounds.
Excuse! None too much eating if I'm honest. We had a pie for dinner and some nice but totaly bad sausage rolls 2 each.
Why? I fancied them and counting the cost so I am now going to re think things and make a fresh go at things.
 I am so mad at myself as I promised I would not do this. I do this too often start off ok and then slacken off. I get the wants not that I am hungry I just want things like chocolate, biscuits or a cake. I can go for ages without and then I am tempted and even though I can resist I do give in from time to time. Result! either sticking or gaining.
Then I get fed up and before long give up again but I really must do that this time. I have far to much at stake, my health. I am still waiting for an appointment with the dietician at the Dr's. Six weeks so far and still no word, o.k its not long realy I suppose but it is to me.
Any ideas on how I am going to stop this irritating wanting food when I do not need it and not even hungry? :(
I hope you all have a good weekend.
I am helping a neighbour out this week she is 89 and housebound her family are away so I am cooking her Sunday dinner. I may have problems but nothing like hers and here I am be moaning I am gaining weight again!

When I weighed in on Tuesday I stayed the same.
Reason: eating a whole tub low fat ice cream one day, quite a bit of picking during the week, and a portion of chips. Oh my!
Been having horrible cravings due to cold weather and stress eating due to being very busy with uni work. Have been a bit better this week so far. :)
3lbs off for me this week...and a pair of size 14 trousers now hanging in my wardrobe...I am one happy bunny this week :)
I disciplined myself really well and made myself do my exercise routine before I left for work, it meant getting up an hour and a half early but a 3lb loss this week has made it all worthwhile and I will be doing it from now on.
Have a party to go to tomorrow so those size 14 trousers will be getting their first outing :)
Hope you all have a good weekend
hang in there everyone...we can do it

This week has been a disaster. Fridge freezer packed up then just to add to the fun the cooker decided to join in as well. Hence I had to dig out the catalogue and order a new fridge and cooker. Expensive! yes but I need both items.
Cooking with a slow cooker and microwave is not my idea of fun, I get the cooker Monday a nice new gas one. The other was electric as the old address I lived in had no gas, so at last I can cook with gas which I much prefer.
:)
On the personal side things are not that brilliant. I have had problems with family for a long time now and sadly my daughter has decided that I no longer exist. When out shopping I saw her in the supermarket and was close enough to touch her. She totaly ignored me and that really hurt. So I have been feeling rather down as a result and trying not to show it.
Diet has suffered with both events.
Feeling sort of better now and will have to get stuck into the diet again. Sorry to be a gloomy thing.
Well done to all who lost and I hope that everyone has a good week.

Sorry to hear about your daughter Jingo. I guess she knows where you are when she wants you...
On a better note I am slimmer of the week at my club yesterday. I lost 1.5 bs (and it is a star week for me). I was well happy so I celebrated by going to watch My big fat Greek wedding! Great!

Leigh - I hope you don't mind me sticking my oar in here but... I started on January 2nd at 18.4 (fell off the wagon May-August but I've lost 2 stone exactly (as of today) in that time - hope that's of some help.

Well done to everyone.
Delaney we are almost the same weight now - I feel a little bit of friendly competition coming on here to keep me motivated. Need to try and keep up with you if nothing else, if you get too far ahead of me, may go sulk in the corner.
I am only kidding, we are all indivduals and no one two peoples weight loss is going to be the same, but if I can hang on to anybody's coat tails on the way down ....... if only !!!

WELL DONE EVERYONE!! I am dreading my weigh in on Saturday bound to be a gain but I will deserve it, my sis has gone back to Canada today, time to get myself back into the good habits whether I like it or not!!
Peacock I counted calories ..started off sticking to 1500 calories a day and as the weight came off I introduced exercise...I have to admit I didn't find the courage to join a gym until I had lost over 7 stone but since then I have been going at least 3 times a week...my wonderful hubby has been buying me lots of exercise equipment that I use at the gym and I now have everything at home apart from one piece so I have cut back the amount of time I go to the gym and work out at home instead...I get more done at home, because I don't have to wait around for anything and I am not distracted by talking to anyone, I just get on and do it.....If I said I have found it easy I would be lying, there have been many times since I started that I have found it very tough, but I have just hung on in there , the rewards I get as I lose more weight make all the effort worthwhile...but after saying all that I can't say it has been incredibly difficult either...yes there were really tough days, but they were not as many as there were good days...I think I have reached the hardest time now and that is because having already lost 13 stone and only have a stone and a half to go to reach my goal , although I don't find the eating or the exercise difficult anymore, the weightloss has really slowed down...which was obviously expected, but that is making it difficult because I am just so impatient to get there...I do get more down when I don't lose anything or I only lose a pound, but I have come too far now to give up...I will reach that final goal come **** or high water no matter how long it takes :)

Hey Leigh,
just been very busy, in my final year at university, would have said hi otherwise. I joined slimming world on 30th July, so that's 13 weeks on the diet for 18 lbs. Not losing as fast as I could, but it's still over 1lb/week, so not bad!
I'm going for an anniversary meal tonight, so went clothes shopping yesterday. Very excited to get 2 size 20 tops (have been wearing 22-24), and even one 16 (god knows how!). Stick with it Leigh, it's really worth it, good luck! :D

Well i have been to WW and faced the music and found out I have gained 1.5lb, to be truthful it could have been much worse. Still its over with and now i have to get back on track.
i really want to be in the next stone by the time i hear the jingle of Santas sleigh. Only one person can make sure that happens and that person is me...........with your help of course!!;)
no loss for me to report this week stayed the same again. which I am pleased about really having under eaten so badly this week it could quite easily have been a gain.
I found out this morning why I have been feeling so bad...can you believe it at 40 years old I have caught chicken pox...those darling little kids love to share everything :)
TQ it is certainly possible to be in that next stone by the time santa comes. you just stay focused and think of what a great present that would be to give yourself :)

It has been said before, but for something good to happen, anything not just weight loss, you have to work hard and put in the effort.
Chicken pox - are you covered in little dabs of camoline lotion, of do they do it all different these days. Touch wood my two haven't had it - yet !!!!!!!
We all need to live a bit TQ - 1.5 gain is nothing, a bit of effort and that will soon be gone and you'll be on your way to a good christmas present to yourself. We know you are going to do it
yep my legs are covered in calomine I think I should have my hands tied up to stop me scratching them and making them worse. They are not sore, but its very annoying :)
Decided I was going to try a few weights this morning as I was feeling better and my horrible hubby appeared with the digital camera, so for those of you who think I look good pop on over to my gallery and have a look at all the flabby bits :)
Hope you have strong stomachs :)

Hi Ali had a peek at your pics. Flabby bits?? Soz couldn't see any. You look great
TQ you are right...not many people will see me without my kit, and as far as the flabby bits go I can hide pretty much most of them
Thanks Leigh-r, its mainly my arms that are flabby and the top of my legs, but lets face it for most of my life this poor old skin has been carying around 25 stone+ I can't expect it to be perfect instantly just coz I lose the weight can I :)

Well done Carol - a new stone - that feels fantastic doesn't it?
At official weigh in this morning I am 2lbs HEAVIER - absolutely devastated and I really (and I mean that REALLY) don't know how that's happened. I have been sitting crying in the kitchen whilst trying to go over my tracker and see where I went wrong. I had a bad day saturday when we had guests but I went to the gym twice and swimming twice AND made up for it by having 1 less point per day for the rest of the week. Absolutely dreading tonights weight watchers...

Don't worry Delaney.
I have found (to my utter amazement) that 2lbs come off just as easily as it goes on (well nearly). Sometimes anyway.
I am getting weighed tomorrow at another class as my Monday class leader is ill. I have been a bit naughty but I have a dinner with the girls to look forward to on Friday so I will concentrate on that!

No weigh in from me this week as I went to a fireworks display instead.
It's been my worst week so far on the diet though, or off the diet should I say. Slap up meal earlier in the week (anniversary), then two days of non-stop choclate and irn bru in a frenzy of essay writing and sleep deprivation. Oops! Hopefully I can make up for it by eating better this week though. :)
