Good morning, I am putting lousy food week behind me. Weekend was binge free but not on plan.
Feeling way better now that those darn hormones are back to normal.
Have an op day!

Speaking of the grocery store, I was there this morning and they had some of my favorite binge foods (all the granola, nuts, etc. and also Stacy's pita chips) on sale. Guh. I resisted. so far.

I have been OUT OF CONTROL the last week.
Gained 2 lbs.

Have to just dust myself off.......

Ok, I am ALMOST done with day 2 and I am confident that I will survive!

Also, I don't know if this is clear but I have been binge free since last week, but my internet died so I didn't participate. This is day 2 in this particular challenge; don't know if my meaning is clear.

I am 3/4 of the way through day three! I even controlled myself on the popcorn I made for the kids (only a little for me!)

Skyra--don't give in to the temptation. If you feel a binge coming on, make a plan for it. Even if it is not such a great choice (healthy) for food, but you eat a reasonable amount, you can feed the craving without going nuts.

Good luck!!! You can do it!!!! We are both on day three-stay with me!!!

Going on day #2 of being binge free!! I just had a filling supper of tuna, chickpeas, and some homemade canned peppers. I def got my filling of protein and fiber with that meal!! Which is awesome cuz I lifted weights this morning :-) Might have an apple later if my sweet tooth kicks in....good job everyone!!

I've never joined any of the Binge-free challenges before. I know it started on Monday, but I think it would be good to start now. I have been binging often lately :( Today it was on a pumpkin roll and peanut butter. I need to get back on track and would love if I had help being accountable for it.

10-20-2009, 11:39 PM
Yeah everybody! even those who are just picking themselves back up after a stumble (been there- you can't give up) Day 2, Day 2, Day 2 coming to a close and no binge yet!!!!!

iriswhispers
10-21-2009, 12:00 AM
I got a little lost in my peanut butter jar tonight... didn't devour the whole thing, but definitely had at least twice my allotted amount (2 tbsp.). I don't think this counts as a binge - it was out of control but nothing like what I call a binge...

I think I am going to make it another day!:carrot:

I had a late dinner so I am not even hungry (as I am going into my bewitching hour). I might even be able to skip the bedtime snack tonight.

Thanks for all the support! I could not do this without you all!

This is day three for me!:D

Karen -- good for you! So glad you've made it! And I made it too. :D I definitely ate more "junk" than I would have liked (popcorn & chocolate), but I only had a little bit of each. And I enjoyed it. So I'm going to count it as a small victory. :carrot:

Let's all make it the rest of the week!

Hey girls. Bad day yesterday :( Its so frustrating because I know exactly what to do to be healthy and feel great but I manage to screw it up. I have a 10k race on Sunday so my goal for the next few days is to fuel myself for the race and eat well so that I can run my best. That means no binges!!! Good luck!

iriswhispers
10-22-2009, 12:01 PM
Jessica, congrats to you on day 1! =)

Lost, way to look on the bright side. This is kind of cliche, but I really find that it helps to take this one day at a time - because the days add up! When I tell myself I'll get through an entire week or some other specified length of time, I think it sets up really high expectations that can be harmful to me.

TC - good luck on the race!

Jessica..the pb&j oatmeal is SO easy! Just make plain oats and add a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter and the same of the jelly/jam. I actually have a jar of homemade plum jam that a friend gave me so I've been using that and it's sooo yummy!
Takingcharge and Lost..it's a brand new day ladies!!! What's done is done, congrats on picking yourselves back up, you can do it!!

This was my post in the other binge thread, posted yesterday:

I was SO close to not only a perfect on-plan day, but a DEFICIT (350 less than I usually eat, to make up for the awful weekend).
Then, seeing as how I had to go to the grocery store after class (9:30 pm-ish) to get a fruit platter for a work party, let’s just say evil forces took over. I was also stressed b/c I knew I had to have a discussion w/ hubby that was not going to go over well.
It was like a PRE-fight binge, in the grocery store parking lot. THEN I had 428 cal of special K fruit/yogurt cereal once I got HOME. Toward the end I was picking out the dried yogurt bits and eating just those.

This morning I was so disgusted w/ myself I had a fruit and protein shake for breakfast, hardly packed any snacks, plan on drinking lots of coffee and water today...

----------------
So to update yesterday: I was GOOD when I got home.
(Didn't exercise, but didn't overeat).
I didn't have a deficit, but I was OP.
So today is day 2.

:)

I am on the tail end of day five. I had pizza for dinner (but a reasonable amount) AND I ate it in front of the TV (not such a good idea--it is my trigger for binging).

I am in a funky mood and I am worried. I hope I can hang on. If my sweetie wants to watch TV together tonight and pulls out the ice cream I am not sure I can take it...

Skyra
10-23-2009, 01:44 AM
Karen -- stay strong with me. I've felt shaky today, too, and I nearly binged on Oreos tonight. I even started crying during my workout because I thought I looked awful... so maybe I'm not the best person to give support right now, but I want you to know that I'm experiencing the same thing and I want both of us to MAKE IT! Make it through tonight! One day, one hour at a time. Tell yourself: I AM NOT GOING TO BINGE TONIGHT. I won't if you won't.

iriswhispers
10-23-2009, 02:11 AM
Karen and Skyra - you can do this - I will second what Skyra said - "one day, one hour at a time" and add - one MINUTE at a time. That is really the only way I am pulling through right now.

Day 5 for me. F-I-V-E. I am truly amazed. Thanks to everyone here for the support you've given!

Finished with day 5! Haven't been here in awhile, my internet sort of died. I had some ice cream yesterday, but it was a small portion in a restaurant with more fruit than ice cream. I am excited because I don't feel guilty, therefore no urge to binge. So often I binge when I eat one "bad" food I feel like I might as well throw the whole day away. And I didn't!

Jessica Rae
10-23-2009, 09:12 AM
You can do it Karen and Skyra!! You'll feel sooo good when you successfully turn away from the food. It's so empowering. *hug*

D, I tried the peanut butter and jelly oatmeal this morning. It's so yummy!! Thanks for the recipe :)

Today's going to be a hard day. I'll be on a 5 hour car ride and my parents pack lots of snacks that will be sitting next to me in the back seat the whole way. Last week I didn't stop eating them the whole time I was in the car. I'm planning on which snacks I'm going to eat every 2 hours. Other than that I have to make sure I stop myself. I can do this!

This is the start of day 5 for me and I started it with an awesome workout and yummy breakfast of kashi cereal with cinnamon sprinkled on top along with a yogurt :-) It's Friday ladies! Hooray for EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this board. It's really awesome to hear all your success stories. :D I could have binged on Reese's today, but I didn't! Partially because I wanted to get to the end of the week with everybody else! I ate edamame instead, which was still satisfying. It's so great to know this is DAY SIX of eating sensibly. I haven't done this well in such a long time! Thanks to everybody ... and here's to more binge-free days. ;)

Hey ladies! Unfortunately, binge free week was quite binge FULL. It's definitely not a good feeling because I know I'm stronger than this, but I'm learning my lesson this time. I have to! It's time to reign myself in and take control! I'm an adult for goodness sakes! So my binge free week starts today. Lots of temptations around but my plan is to avoid them altogether because I know if I go for moderation today, I'll set myself up for failure. I'll be back tonight to report on day 1. Wish me luck!

Good to hear that you feel you are improving. It'll take time girlie. Even though this is the start of my day 7 I have to keep reminding myself of the fact that I'll more than likely fall off at some point and have to start over. But as we get used to this it should happen less and less :-) Everyone have a great Sunday!

Hooray for you dugserb. Right now you are such an inspiration to me. :) 7 days, I can't even imagine!

I made it 5 days last time so this time I hope to make it to at least 6. Weekends are still so tough.

I do wish I would go down even a LITTLE bit in weight so I could believe all this binge-free eating is worth it... I suppose 5 days is too soon, eh? I know it's worth it to break the habit even if I don't lose any weight, but I'm hoping... hoping!! I'm exercising hard so maybe in a couple weeks I'll see a difference!

Everybody have a strong end to the week. I know I will!

duqserb
10-25-2009, 03:54 PM
Thanks Skyra....5 days is also great! And I hope you make this day 6 :-) Honestly though...I only did so well this week because I didn't go anywhere lol I plan on staying on track this week too but then my big challenge will come next Fri/Sat. My best friends bachelorette party is on Saturday and things will get started by her parents house with lots of pizza and other foods. THAT is what I'm scared of :-( Because I've actually had a craving for pizza lately..but the last thing I want to do is stuff myself with pizza then go out for a night of drinking...bleh So it's going to take EVERY ounce of strength for me to have ONLY a couple of slices and then STOP. And with there being ppl there I can't exactly yell at the pizza like I did last night with the nutella lol

Wow girls, I'm so proud of you!! You're doing such a great job. I'll be looking to you for inspiration this week! I ran my 10k today and have been pretty liberal with my food choices. I'm not sure it's really bingeing but I'm not tracking calories and I know when I do that it means I'm prob not on track. I'm really gonna take this challenge to heart this week though and that means posting here everyday and not letting you girls and myself down!! Here's to a great week!!
