morning..........this was exactly what i needed to see this morning. someone has hurt my feelings. betrayed me deeply. based on their lies, i have done things that i am ashamed of. i take responsibility for my actions and am willlng to acept the consequences.
but i am so ANGRY.
i have had the LAST "discussion" i want to have with this person.

and i need to cease all contact. but it is really difficult.
so i want and need to let it go.

seeing a counselor already. i am going to make it.

but every little bit of help is appreciated.

thanks!

Well, I can report no change, but I'm going to keep praying and keep our needs in the "warrior prayer pot" that my husband finds/does something financially positive. He talked to someone who said maybe he can get dh's resume in front of someone dh cannot get to himself.

Gary, I love the ipod idea also. Music has it's own positive powers.

CHERRY ~ Glad you feel better today -- sometimes just talking to others helps us feel better, like you say. Lots of caring folks here; keep coming back. You can drop into our CE -- Christian Encouragers thread in this forum, if you want to as well ... lots of very supportive and friendly people there too ...

:) On the right side of your post box, there are a bunch of Smilies there; all you do is click on them and they will jump into your post ... and where it says [More], if you click on that -- a box will come up with dozens more, but it takes about 1 minute for them to load up on the screen. There is also a SMilie face at the top of your post box too; he is white and you can click on him with your mouse, and smilies come up there too. :D

She seems to be doing well, and all the family are surprised! (Most are not saved...so they can't believe she is still alive!) Anyway, we know "WHY" she is still alive and getting better. The Social Worker from the hospital talked to my sis yesterday, and told her that if she continues on this path, Thursday they will move her to a Nursing Home Facility to continue her treatment and she will be able to leave the hospital. So thank you all for your prayers and faith. I appreciate the agreement.
I am agreeing with all of you on this prayer thread as well. :)

It seems she is doing well enough now to be moved to an assisted living center/nursing home TODAY. Praise God! I just found out. My sis called to let me know and asked me if I was coming to Wisconsin to see her. I said I am holding off on coming and will plan to go home at Thanksgiving to celebrate life and God with them! I will keep you updated, but please continue to speak the Word over her and keep thanking and praising God. I appreciate you all, and hope that this praise report builds your faith and bolsters your confidence to keep praying.:carrot:

OH I FORGOT TO ADD THAT: She is not on pain meds anymore, no morphine or anything, and is in NO PAIN!!! She is eating on her own, she had shredded wheat for breakfast this morning. She didn't eat much, but she is eating on her own now.

Continued prayers for all....

Angie spent some time with my sister yesterday showing her some yoga positions to work on. My sister doesn't feel comfortable taking the cancer yoga class just yet, since she has never done yoga, so Angie went to some of the classes and learned some positions for my sister. Based on the probable chemo treatments, they have set up Sunday nights to do it together here at my house.

God is good....I hope all are seeing movements for hope in our prayers.

My mother went home to be with our Lord this morning at 2:30am. I wanted to thank you all so much for your support. You all mean so much to me!
I take comfort in the fact that I KNOW she is with Jesus and that she is celebrating in heaven right now.
I ask for continued prayer for my family in this time and for my dad's and my family's salvation.
Love to all and I appreciate you all so much. I want you all to continue to keep the faith and to stay bolstered in your prayers for all of these other needs.
God hears and answers our prayers and His Word DOES work and will not return void, but will accomplish what it is sent out to do.
Please take a moment today to praise God with me that my mother has gone home and is celebrating LIFE with our Lord and with the Father and all the other saints that have gone on before us.
We are temporary residents on this earth, and saving souls is the most important thing there is. Nothing else compares.
I love you all! :hug::)

Ryanne-prayers going for you and your family, for comfort and for this to be an opportunity for God's message to come to those who aren't believers yet.

Also want to share a couple praises-DS2's knee has healed enough that he's allowed to practice and play football, maybe even get in this last regular season game this week, then the play-offs next week. He must still wear the brace to keep the kneecap from shifting again, but the pain is gone.

DS3 was released from restrictions on sports yesterday by his orthopedic doc. His back fracture has stabilized and no more shifting of the vertebrae since last year, so he's allowed to even try football or soccer if he wants, of course, with the condition that if any pain returns, he's to come back to the doc.

I just thank God for His healing power and for watching over the boys that the injuries in each case were not worse. Especially in DS3's case, since we didn't know he had fractured his vertebra for several years, it could have been a permanently devastating injury. Praise God, because He watches over us and protects us from things we can't even see or imagine!

RONNI that is such good news on the boys!

So yesterday I go to the specialist on a referral from my doctor...been there before 4-5 years ago for the same issue...hernia...I never had it taken care of since it didn't bother me...well now is the time with work being slow and all...anyway there are 2 doctors in there...last time I saw Dr. W....this time I saw Dr. R...as soon as he walked in I recognized him as the one that did the surgery on my sister for her breast cancer...

God sure finds strange ways to link those He loves with those we love doesn't He?

God is good..PRAYERS FOR ALL!...continue...daily...

Rosebud, I will be thinking good thoughts for you..Prayers going up for you.

Gary, glad that you sister and Angie are able to do this together. I'm sure that Angie gives her that very much needed support!!

My Aunt is doing Wonderful. Thanks for all the prayers! She had bought a little Yorkie about 3 weeks before she had her surgery and I'm so glad that she has him. She loves him (and he loves her too) and she has someone else to think about and take care of. She told me yesterday that she never really had lots of reason to hear her voice at home but now she talks to "Lil' Mt. Biggs" all the time!! He is 4 pounds of pure love for her! My Uncle passed away 10 years ago this month so she was alone. Now after having Mr. Biggs, she says she doesn't know how she ever managed without him! Makes me Happy!

Had my family, brother, sister and her husband, and my Aunt and Mr. Biggs over today for a big pot of beef stew and corn bread! Felt pretty good to have a family dinner. My older brother had to work an Open House today so I took him a bowl over this evening when he got home. Love being back in MO. with family!

Prayers for all needs mentioned, especially Gary's surgery tomorrow, Bargoo, and all family and friends. Praises for all needs met-isn't it wonderful to see how God blesses us even in our simplest requests?!

Quick update on dad-he has only 7 radiation treatments left. Has some trouble swallowing, but isn't doing too badly, as he is actually still able to eat some solid foods. He's concerned about the cost of all this, but I'm trying to convince him to take advantage of any program that he would qualify for to help pay for it, as he's been a taxpayer all his working life and it seems to me that he has earned a little assistance, since he has no pension and just lives on social security. THANKS, KAREN ~ very nice song for this Remembrance Day; I also love the IN FLANDER'S FIELDS POEM by John McCrae but I'm partial as he was Canadian soldier who came from the city I went to high school in (Guelph, Ontario); but the poem is lovely too! I even like to sing it sometimes ...

IN FLANDERS FIELDS by John McCrae (1872-1918)

In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago.
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
... In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch be yours to hold it high,
If ye break faith with us who die --
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
... In Flanders fields.

Prayer up-dates ~

For my surgery ~ thank you all so much, I am healing very well....most of you know it was painful for a few days but much better now. I still can't do much but I am able to walk up and down the stairs and stand for as long as I need to if I want to cook or just walk around the house for exercise....not ready for the outside world yet!

Up-date on my sister "ANNIE" ~ She met with the people that will be doing the radiation, I think they may start her next week...after just 2 chemo sessions...they said 6 weeks of Mon-Fri sessions of radiation...showed her where and concern that it is close to her heart. Her hair is falling out fast so she shaved her son in law gave her a buzz cut yesterday but the rest came out in the shower. I talked to her today for a long time on the phone (saw her friday) she wanted a very EZ stuffed cabbage recipe I have.

Bless you all ~ Gary

That sounds like a really tuff regime that ANNIE is going through; probably a good idea to just shave the hair off and get it over with: it will grow back in later on. ^Prayers^ will continue for her all through her treatments. Wow, she is up and cookin' already -- that's great!

GARY ~ Nice of you to share your EZ cabbage roll recipe with your sister. Do you have a place called M & M's down there? This place makes really nice homemade meals and flash freezes them, and for a decent price so you don't have to cook all the time. That would be so helpful to someone who isn't feeling great, just to give them a break; but some people (like me) like to cook and it gives them something to do to take their minds off things.

I have one recipe where you shred the cabbage and put half on the bottom of a prepared pan; then top with your meat/rice mixture; then top with more shredded cabbage, and then pour your tomatoes/sauce over the whole thing; and bake as per usual. DH likes this version becuz he says he can chew it better than the rolls. It is called MOCK CABBAGE ROLLS.

^Prayers^ continue for a speedy recovery; it sounds like you are doing great, but don't overdo it now ...

My sister has her good and bad days after the chemo treatments. She tries to get out and do something every day that she can....she knows that it is to her benefit. Short walks, short car trips. I think my nieces do most of the cooking but they were all going shopping and she needed to find out what to put in it.

We also had one sad bit of news today -- that our BIL (TOM M.) who has been having heart problems isn't doing well; recently, they went to see some heart specialists, and they said there isn't anything else they can do for him.

We met up with his sister today and she says that he is losing weight now, and she expects that his time with us is limited, so we are praying for him for comfort and peace (and for his wife Denise too).

I am so glad that TOM has been a believer for a long time and through this health crisis, his wife has drawn much closer to GOD and the LORD.

My sister spent most of the day with me. She showed me her bald head... I showed her my scars that, along with my belly button, makes it look like and upside down happy :) face on me!

Evidently she is not having radiation treatments just yet. I asked her today when they were to start and she said after chemo in Feb. I said I thought you said they were stopping chemo...going to radiation...then back to chemo...she said, I did...I misunderstood. So back to chemo to Feb then 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. With her lupus and immune system low as it is this can't be good :(

But I tell you what...she is up...moving...visiting me (thank you Grandma Joy for dropping her off) and looking forward to tomorrow...

PRAYER UPDATES ~

Angie met the doctor yesterday to get the results of her tests a few weeks ago...she is A-OK...no problems....the redness they took biopsies of was nothing. Great for the colonoscopy end but down the front it looks like she just has acid reflux and will continue to live with it as she always has.

My daughter in law is getting along OK with her cast...plenty of high school boys are willing to "help" her...wink She called me yesterday and said her finger and wrist hurt but it was bearable.

I am still "sore" but feel great otherwise. So good to be able to get up and down so I don't hurt ALL OVER!

THANKS for the prayers about Father Dennis; I put a post about the funeral in the CE's thread -- needless to say he was much loved (and only 52 y/y) by all his present and former students (as he was also a teacher); and of course by his family, friends, and many parishioners over his liftetime. DH was still upset this evening when he showed me the beautiful picture bookmark a local photographer made of him with the church he preached in and the school he taught in ... so very nice of them.

I kept reinforcing these scriptures to DH, which helped him feel much better today -- Isaiah 57: 1 & 2 and verses 18 & 19, reminding him that Father was no longer suffering and was at peace in gloryland.

"v1. The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. (that includes pain, illness, sorrow, troubles, and suffering)

v2. He shall enter into peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness." (they are now at peace; at rest from their work; and well once again)

v18. "I have seen his ways and will heal him; I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and his mourners.

v19. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him."

It is hard, but I find these verses were such a blessing to us lately as so many young people that we knew have passed away lately (friends, and neighbours, and co-workers, etc).

I have a small prayer request-I just recently got back in touch with a high school friend (thank you facebook!) and am sad to learn that she just lost her husband last week after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. They are believers so she knows he's just gone on ahead to wait for her, but she's still suffering from loss (as we all would). I just prayed for Cathy and her family, and added them to my prayer list.

I would really appreciate prayers for my parents.
My dad has had leukemia for about 8 years and has been in and out of remission several times. The leukemia is back, has metastasized and is also in his lungs now. Last week we were told that the tumors are continuing to grow, despite the chemo. They've started him on morphine and will focus on keeping him comfortable rather than fighting the cancer now.

He's very uncomfortable even with the medication and my mom is so stressed out that she can barely think. Please pray for both of them. My father is 77 years old and has had a good life, but he's never made peace with God. Please pray that he will do so while he's still got time.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for the prayers for my parents.

I talked to my Dad on the phone last night, and he had some great news. He's starting radiation on Monday. Last week they'd decided to just keep him comfortable and manage his pain because the tumors in his lungs were not responding to the chemo. I'm not sure how/why this change came about but when he was getting the IV to boost his immune system yesterday they told him they thought he should try radiation and helped him get the first appointment set up. I'm not sure how much difference the radiation will make physically, but both of my parents were in a much better place mentally last night. They know the end is coming soon, but they hated giving up the fight.

Rosebud, I'll be in prayer about the sore on your leg.

HEIDI ~ I am so glad to hear that becuz I was thinking about that when I was praying for your Dad last night ... why aren't they trying radiation which can be very good at shrinking tumors? Very happy to hear this; and will pray for him for comfort during and after his treatments also.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE ~ just wanted to let you all know that after I soaked my leg last night, the scab came off; and we were pleasantly surprised that it looks better than it has before, so it is healing: but if you know anything about skin ulcers, they do take a very, very long time to heal. Hello PWs, here for an update. Sounds like there are some wonderful happnings and I am so happy for you all. DH's business is still bombing but I do count our blessings daily. That definitely diffuses the panic.

thanks again for keeping us in your prayers.

Justwant2Bhealthy
11-28-2009, 04:34 PM
HI KITTYCAT ~ I'm sorry to hear that your DH's business is "BOMBING" as you put it, but it isn't becuz we didn't pray ... becuz we did. I don't know what kind of business he is in, but with the US economy floundering the way it is right now, some businesses are really slowing down, and some are being closed down altogether.

That isn't becuz they are bad businesses, but when things get tuff, people change their priorities and make huge cut-backs: here they stop taking taxis and walk, buy only sales, cut out luxeries, and cut down to basic necessities only. So that hurts any businesses that offer things that aren't absolutely necessary, ie people cancel plans for trips; or repairs on their houses or planned additions; or that newer car or body repairs, and so on ... and there is a huge ripple effect as well.

Last night someone asked me to pray for a new architectural intern to get a full-time job in a field that has almost screeched to a halt; I thought ... eeks, I hope he is willing to start with only part-time or as a dishwasher becuz that may be all that is available right now until the economy gets better; and I was thinking -- gee, I wouldn't have chosen that career when the economy is so bad ... and that goes for the art field and marketing too. ;)

This year, if people have to choose between a piece of jewelry or food, they will choose the food and forget the gifts. If they have to choose between heating their house or buying some new high-tech gadget, the heat comes first; if they have to choose between gas for the car or new clothes, the gas to get to work is more important. Some people I know are cancelling cable subscriptions or selling off extra belongings at this time to buy gifts for their kids; you see it all over the classifieds.

Sorry ... didn't mean to get on a soapbox here, but I am praying that your DH will find some kind of work ... any work -- just in case his business has to take a hiatis for awhile, just until the economy recovers.

I have been giving a lot of financial advice lately to people who are really struggling; and I am encouraged by those who are willing to try new things and reprioritize their lives, for now. We've all had to do this sometime in our life, but by Faith, you can weather this time out, and even start over, if needs be. Sometimes, this calls for a lot of courage and trust in the Lord, but it can be done.

^PRAYERS^ are continuing for you and your DH; and your $$$ situation ...

Rosebud, he is 50 and stubborn. I am pushing for a total change but he is unwilling. He would be an outstanding teacher but he will not consider it. In fact he is insulted that I want him to change. He takes that to mean I don't have faith in him.

I talked a long time with my mother last night and my Dad is failing fast, she's seen a huge difference just since Thanksgiving and is quite upset/scared that he'll be gone before Christmas. (I'd love to jump in the car and head south right now, but I just can't.) I'll head to Massachusetts on Monday after school to spend a little time with them and to ask questions for them at Tuesday's appointment with the oncologist. They have a hard time asking questions and/or getting the doctors to explain things clearly. They say, "She's busy I don't want to take up too much of her time." or "He's a doctor, he doesn't know how to explain it so we can understand."

Please continue to pray for them - comfort for both of them, and that my Dad will make peace with God before he dies.

And He wakes His prayer warriors up in the middle of the night and asks them to pray for His other children: how awesome is our GOD! ^Prayers^ continue for TIM and DAVE, and YOU at this time as well ...

HEIDI ~ ^Prayers^ going up for your DAD & MOM, and for you and your family during this scary time ...

Bargoo-prayers for you and your sons through this difficult time. Also, for good results in your tests later. Know that you're in the thoughts of your many friends

Prayers also for Heidi and your family and for the doctors to be open and able to answer questions. Also, for James and Matilda.

To all the Prayer Warriors: You are all in my prayers each day, even when I don't get here to affirm it to you. Keep the faith knowing that God hears every prayer.:hug:

I also have a request. It's small in comparison to what's happening in others' lives right now, but it's weighing on my mind and I just need to have a little extra strength right now. During my physical last week, my doc informed me that many of the symptoms I had been attributing to MS are also symptoms of ovarian cancer and I have an ultrasound today to see if there are any tumors. They did the cancer marker blood test, but results are not back yet. I'm really not overly concerned, but the closer it gets, the more the possible outcome weighs on my mind. Thanks in advance, my friends.

Hey everyone... I want to thank you all for your prayers for little James.
His dog Chance (b/c james is autistic Chance was a trained dog for this purpose and he never left his side) came home this morning, freezing cold and hungry, ate ravenously then kept trying to get back outside.. They kept him inside a little longer to be sure he was warmed up enough then let him back out and followed him. They found James alive but in critical condition and severe hypothermia. He has been airlifted to the childrens hospital. I stayed awake all night prayer, but for about 4 hours of sleep here n there. My spirit was really working with God last night, even in my sleep. I can not thank you all enough for your prayers!

PRAISE BE TO OUR GOD -- for creating our wonderful furry friends and angels like  CHANCE  ~ DH and I were praying for JAMES DELOREY last night too; and I read the CTV article and said ... where's the dog? They didn't say if the dog came back yet? And I said to DH ... you'd think the dog would come back to get help; well, waddia know? Good ole faithful CHANCE; I'm sure he was getting concerned about little JAMES, becuz I know how NIKO worries about me all the time, just like my Sweetie & Pin Pin used to as well. LORD, we pray that you touch little JAMES and heal his little body and mind; we ask for complete restoration, and we thank you and praise you for hearing and answering our prayers for him and his family ... thanks for the update, Angela!

RONNI ~ DH and I had a good laugh over your new signature; very funny! Prayers going up for you that all your tests will come back clear, but it is good of your doctor to make sure everything is OK.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE ~ I just received a note from my younger sister, NUMPSTER, that they sold their condo yesterday and got a very good price (the asking price); so as soon as all the formalities are done with, they can get ready to move into their new home and business where they hope to offer Christian retreats so GOD's children will have a place to rest and heal. Thank you all for your faithful prayers; they are so very excited and want you to know how much they appreciate them too.:D

Prayer Request ~ our step-mother GRACE has to go into the hospital again tomorrow morning (Wednesday, December 9, 2009) for another scraping on her bladder. They found a small area of cancer cells, and they want to do it right away as they are aggressively trying to save her bladder. We would appreciate prayers for the procedure to go well and that she will heal quickly this time without any complications. Thanks so much ... Rosebud

Good Morning Everyone..Just want to let you all know that yesterday morning God took little James Delorey home to be by His side in heaven. James was in hospital, safe and warm with his parents and family with him at this time. UPDATE about GRACE ~ Grace made it through her surgery well and is resting comfortably at home; turns out she actually had it yesterday. They didn't tell us because she said that she didn't want us to worry, but then we can't pray for them if we don't know about it until it's over. We are still praying that she will recover well and quickly with no complications this time; thanks so much for your faithful prayers: we really appreciate them!

Hi-- Rosebud thanks for the list. I wanted to update you on my Aunt. The surgery did help the pain down her legs somewhat but her back is not doing good. She went to the Dr. again this week and they said she would probably have to have major surgery to help it or just take muscle relaxers and hope that takes care of it. They are saying most of it is probably arteritis or something like that. Well, she said at her age she isn't going to have major surgery. So she hasn't slowed down much and is now getting ready to head out to Colorado for Chirstmas! Her daughter is coming to get her this weekend and she will return after the 1st of the year. I so hope that I can be doing as good she is when I get to 82!! Shoot-- I'd like to be doing that good now!!! :D

Wanted to give you an update on my father, I really appreciate your prayers for him and my mom.

He's in less pain than he was but still sleeping most of the day and still very depressed. He's getting daily radiation treatments targeting the largest tumor in his lungs to keep him more comfortable. The treatments are helping him manage the pain so that's a real blessing but the daily drive back and forth is tiring and stressful. My sister and a family friend have taken them a few times but normally my parents do the drive themselves each day.

As far as I know my Dad still has not made peace with God. I hate to see him suffering like he is now but I can't bring myself to pray for an end to his pain until I know he's done that.

UPDATE & PRAISE REPORT ~ I wanted to thank you all for praying for me; and thank our FATHER GOD, in heaven, and our LORD JESUS CHRIST for hearing and answering our prayers for the healing of a skin ulcer on my right shin (front calf). The other morning I awoke to find the scab had fallen off and the skin underneath was healed like it should be ... PRAISE GOD!!!

I wanted to share something else with you about this issue -- recently, I believe GOD directed me to a special story in the old testament. It was the story of Ezekiel who was in the valley of the bones; and he told him to COMMAND (prophesy) the bones to rise up and put on sinew, flesh, and skin; and to live again ... it's in Ezekiel 37:1-10.

Anyhow, I had a scrape (or skin ulcer) on my right leg that was taking a very long time to heal; and I asked GOD why wasn't it healing since I have faith and certainly as much as a mustard seed ... then, I was led to that story in my next bible reading ... just happened upon it ... ;)

I immediately felt impressed that I should do the same, so I put my hand over my shin and commanded the skin on my leg to heal (in Jesus' name, just for insurance) ... I did this almost every day for the last month or so ... (approximately)

I also felt impressed that some things can be healed right away, but other things may need a little more time ...

Some things will be healed "CELL by CELL" over time (like this skin ulcer or some cancers; or recoveries from strokes; or losing weight; and restored health or finances, etc).

I believe GOD wants us to know that HE hears and answers ALL our prayers in some way, some how; and in HIS own timing. HE doesn't want us to be frightened or scared, but to realize that some things just take more time; and not to lose hope ...

I also remember JESUS saying that some things needed fasting and prayers (Matthew 17:21) -- when the apostles asked him why there were some things that weren't accomplished when they prayed for them.

So, that is why we may use different kinds of prayers for some needs or requests. We may need to pray more fervently and patiently and much longer for some things, but we will see the results eventually ... PTL!

Thanks once again ...

Praise God ROSEBUD for the healing! :carrot:

It is a wonderful thing to fast if one feels the need. I have copied some of the teachings on this from my church.

Q. What does fasting mean in the Christian life?

A. Nowhere do the Scriptures teach that fasting is required as a way of "earning" God's grace or favor. During the Middle Ages, many requirements were placed on Christians, including some that suggested that by fasting one could earn more merit before God. The central issue at stake in the Lutheran Reformation was the Scriptural teaching that it is God, in Christ, who has earned our salvation. We contribute nothing to that salvation, but only received --through faith--the benefits of Christ's suffering and death on our behalf.

That doesn't mean that fasting is wrong. Jesus speaks about fasting in Matthew 6, saying "When you fast..." (not "If you fast"). Fasting has always been recognized by Lutherans as a potentially useful and God-pleasing means of exercising discipline over one's own mind and body (see, e.g., Augsburg Apology XII, 139, 143). As Luther explains in the Small Catechism, "Fasting and bodily preparation are certainly fine outward training. But that person is truly worthy and well-prepared [to receive the Lord's Supper] who has faith in these words: 'Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.'"

So, should you choose to fast at a certain time or in a certain way, do it as a way of "honoring God with your body" (1 Cor. 6:20). Use it as a time to be reminded that man does not live by bread alone (Matt. 4). But also recognize that God does not require this as a way of "earning points" with Him. You are His free and forgiven child in Christ.

Me here ~ I think we need to remember that God hears all of our prayers and that we are not required by any law to pray certain ways. I have seen people hurt because they felt their prayers or faith wasn't "good" enough for God to listen to.

That being said...we need to continue our prayer walk in the ways that we fell comforted and understand that the most important thing we can ask in all our prayers is this....Heavenly Father, I pray in the name of your precious Son who gave his life for me, Jesus Christ, that Your WILL be done in my life"...

Again...OUTSTANDING that "OUR" prayers have been answered with your leg...awesome...just awesome!

PRAYER REQUEST ~ for MRS. BRADY (Lovebirdsflying) as she is really depressed right now and needs our LORD's love and peace at this time. Her grandmother is very sick and dying (so we should pray for her too); and she was Mrs. Brady's caregiver (she raised her), so she is especially fond of her. This is a sad time for her; which is very understandable.

We lift up dear Mrs. Brady to you today Father, and we ask that you touch her with your perfect Love that casts out all fear; your Peace that surpasses understanding; and your Comfort that gives us strength during difficult times in our lives. We ask this for her, in Jesus' name and we thank you ... Amen and Amen.

Prayers for your friend THERESA....my sister is going through chemo right now for a double mastectomy.....

ROSEBUD...hugs....I just know from experience that people w/o a personal relationship with Jesus look to Him as a "santa"....then others that find that relationship that Christ wants with us...but are "newbies"....or are taught wrong agendas....well....they feel prayer is more about what they do or don't do than allowing God to answer us as we grow in our walk.

Human nature tells us that the "harder" we pray or the "more" we pray or the "more correct" we pray that our prayers will be answered as we want....

We all fall into that....

but the closer we can come to praying that His will be done...the closer we walk with Him...

not an easy task for us...

but only because we "fight" against the "give it ALL to God" thing....hugs...

She was at church with us last night and I saw "life" in her....Praise God!

Also asking for prayers for my sil...my brother's wife, Sue....she was having breathing issues and chest pain this afternoon...my brother took her to emergency and they transported her to the hospital...her blood pressure is sky high but test results have been good so far...admitted for overnight stay and being watched with a cardiologist coming to check her.

THANKS, GARY ~ yes, as I see all these folks who have so much to go thru with cancer treatments, I can so relate to the long process and the waiting and the not feeling well and the fears about what if ... people kept making dire comments to me ... maybe trying to scare me ... what does that accomplish ... nothing ... it can't make my leg heal any faster, you know ...

So for what ... 2+ plus years I have been doing all kinds of procedures and trying all kinds of meds; and soakings and different kinds of salves and bandages, etc -- all the while, trying not to worry about infections, etc. I had the same thing happen on the other leg and well, a nightmare before I met all you guys. I was very sick, but the LORD carried me thru. Now I am trying hard to live healthier, but also have to be patient and wait for it to heal. As a nurse told me, these things can take years ... years? ... that's not the word I wanted to hear ... eeks ...

I wanted to hear days or weeks, not years. Anyways, it is much better now, but I still have to keep on top of things for my health -- taking good care of myself, eating well, exercising, taking the right meds and vitamins, and so on until the skin is all back to normal. We all have our trials and fears that others may not know about -- we all have them becuz we are human.

Am sending up some prayers for your sil, SUE and her family as this is a scary time for them too. Plus continued prayers going up for comfort for ANNIE too ...

Sorry I haven't been around lately-- my son has been here since Christmas and was having trouble with the marriage. He left last week to go to Colorado to see if there would be a 12 year anniversary to celebrate tomorrow (Feb 1) or just what was happening. So he rented a car and is out there now. Talked to him a little while ago and he thinks they will all be coming back here next week for short visit and then on to Florida again!!! I'm not understanding this at all.... they went out there last time with no money, no job, no family around and no place to live. This time they are saying they are going to go about it different but again they have no money, no job, no family around and no place to live-----different? I keep worrying about them but he will be 35 on the 11th so it is time he either makes it or not but I have to practice that "TOUGH LOVE" I've already told him I won't finance his trip out there and I won't finance his living expenses out there. He just isn't making sense.... I know I would like to live in Hawaii but I know that will never happen-- to expensive to live there(maybe someday I'll be able to visit) My brother and sister are looking into buying a restaurant here and asked our son if he would be interested in running it for them. Great opprotunity. They went and looked at my Mom's house (which is vacant now) and said they would work with him to be able to buy it. Two weeks ago when he was here, he was pretty excited about doing that and getting on his feet. Now that he has been in Colorado and talked to HER they are ready to go to florida again. Grrrr!

Gary, thoughts and prayers for your family. So glad to hear that your sis went to church. I need to go more often because i always feel so much better when I do--- right now we have about 5 inches of snow on the ground! No swimming yet!!!LOL!!

Rosebud, also lots of good thoughts and prayers for you too. Your posts are always so uplifting..love to read them.

ROSEBUD my cousin, not a christian, fell years ago off a ladder and hurt his back. His back healed in months but for the longest time...probably 15 years, he had a terrible rash on his legs...a rash he never had before....then one day for no apparent reason the rash stopped.

This from a man that doesn't pray as far as i know...

how much better HOPE for you!

My sister in law had the surgery...no stents needed...weak heart on one side doctors believe from the high blood pressure...sky high! She is still in the hospital and will be released to come home tomorrow with medicine and rest if all goes well. More tests are being done for the high blood pressure.

KAREN ~ boy, that is a dilemna; your son is offered a good job and a home and he turns it down (or should I say, his wife did). :?: I agree that this all sounds so odd; and we can really understand your frustration as a parent. So will send up some prayers about this for sure ...

GARY ~ sending up prayers for comfort for ANNIE; gee, I thought they put lots of pain meds IN the chemo for the patients, so they would feel more comfortable. Plus sending up more prayers for wisdom for SUE's doctor to figure out the cause of the high blood pressure; and sounds like she needs meds too.

Good Morning-- just a quick update... my brother and sister did some more checking in on that restaurant andwas fortunate to be able to talk with one of the former owners. She said that the building has problems with sewer back up and found out that it would take a jackahammer and it would have to be taken to the street from the building------ at their expense. So at least for now, that restaurant is off the table. To tell you the truth, I am kind of releaved since my "dippy son" doesn't know whether he is coming or going at the moment! You would think at 35 years he would already know what he wants to do when he grows up!

PRAYER REQUEST ~ could you say a wee prayer for our landlady (Marguerite) as she has been having pains in her stomach area for about a year now and the doctors can't seem to find out what is causing it. They thought it was kidney stones caused by calcium which they told her to take for her bones, but now told her to stop; but now they say they don't know what is causing it.

I am wondering if she has a stomach ulcer as she drinks a lot of perked coffee, which gave me one years ago; now I can only drink that kind a few times a week. BUT I know that GOD knows what is causing it so am praying that He will give wisdom, knowledge, and insight to her doctors and/or specialists to figure this out as she is suffering a lot every day with this ... sorry for rambing, but THANKS for your prayers!

Asking prayers for my sister in law, Sue, she was taken to the hospital by ambulance from her day care job at our church yesterday. She had a 104 fever and was incoherent. She is doing better at the moment, docs believe some sort of infection right now but not sure.

My brother was with me, stuck for several hours on the freeway for a grenade! when he was called to come get her.....

She seems to be doing better this morning but docs told my brother with her recent heart and blood pressure issues this can be very serious.

Also asking for prayers for a missing 17 year old girl that was out for a training run at a very busy area for trail running here in our area. She runs for a school my son ran and now coaches against. She was just out doing something my daughter does almost every day...now she has just vanished. Many people out looking for her. Her name is Chelsea King from Poway High School in California.

I'm new here and hope you don't mind me asking for prayer.

It seems as though I'm constantly struggling and I don't feel as though it's God's plan for me to do so.

These are the things I struggle with:

1. Personal relationship with Christ
2. Weight
3. Attitude toward things
4. My tongue

Please pray that I allow God to do what He needs to do in order to get me where I need to be. Hope this makes sense.

Dori, I will be praying for you.

Justwant2Bhealthy
03-13-2010, 07:10 PM
DORI ~ definitely will send up prayers for you for all those issues. Here's some ideas that might help a bit ...

1) Every day, I say the Lord's Prayer to start off my day and this sort of helps set the tone for the day; and I thank GOD for each day and ask for His wisdom and guidance (this only takes a few minutes).

2) I ask GOD to give me insight, wisdom, and strength to eat and live in a healthy way today: help me to do my best and I'll let you do the rest!

3) I wasn't sure if you meant "things" as in stuff or life in general; but you could ask for healing in your heart and mind; and/or ask the Lord to help you keep your priorities in the right place.

4) Yes, I understand this becuz I used to have people around me that cussed grossly all the time; thank GOD he moved us out of that situation, but it still comes up now & then (and out of frustration mostly), so I ask for forgiveness then I start PRAISING HIS NAME or singing a Christian song: that clears any negative thoughts right out of my mind.

I also ask the LORD to help me forgive those who hurt me too becuz HE forgave me. The apostles asked Jesus how many times we should forgive someone: on one occasion he said 7 x 77 (Matthew 18:21); and on another, He said if someone offends you but repents 7 times a day, we must forgive him (Luke 17:14).

She hasn't accessed her bank account or credit cards although they think she does have her wallet. She also left without her prescription medicines and they haven't been refilled. The police found her car today, but no sign of her or any sign of her whereabouts. Her family is worried sick. Her name is Jennifer, she's 31. I can't stop thinking about her!

Oh Lola Jean will be praying for her return and safety.
Dori will pray for you. Remember none of us are perfect, just don't ever stop trying to improve, Jesus sees all and if we do our part he will work on the rest of our life. I for one need an attitude adjustment my self. My weight just keeps going up even though I work outside like crazy, mowing , garden work and pretty soon will need to build a chicken house! I guess when God is ready for me to loose weight I will drop weight, like a balloon letting out air.
Oh and my old tongue Girl I would like to tape my mouth shut sometimes! It seems to have a mind of it's on for I seem to rattle before I think at times. I found a Bible Study and work book by Joyce Meyers that has helped me put a leash on my tongue called, "Me and My Big Mouth" it is really a great study.

LOLAJEAN ~ have sent up prayers for your friend, Jennifer; we pray that she is OK and we hope she will be found safe very soon -- prayers for peace for you and her family too. We don't know all the circumstances, but GOD does ...

BOOTSIE ~ that book by Joyce Meyers sounds like a good one; I think we all put our foot in our mouths sometimes, and my DH says he puts his in his up to his knees sometimes. Ahem, I have to admit that's true, but he doesn't mean too; he also just blurts out the first thing that comes into his head, so he is trying to learn to take a few seconds and think before saying the first thing that pops up.

Someone told us once to ask ourselves if we would like someone to say what we were thinking of saying? Or, could it hurt others' feelings? And, is it a kind thing to say? That about covers it; my mother used to say 'If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything.' And we know that in Proverbs, Solomon often talked about it being better to listen than speaking sometimes. We are all human and battle with this one for sure ...

Glad to hear that your brother came thru the surgery well; and is sitting up eating ... that's a good sign; prayers continue for him for a complete recovery.

Hello, Everyone. I'm popping in asking for prayer again for my dad. We got a call Monday (while DH was at his mom's for her mastectomy) that my dad had not made it to work. His boss called the life squad and they found that he had fallen again and had been unable to get up. He refused to go to the hospital though. When we were told this and after talking to dad, we decided that we needed to go to IN to get him to the doc. My sister came down from Chicago also. Dad's speech was also very slurred and he said he was having problems with his arm, along with the walking problem and bladder control. By the time we got here Tuesday, everything was worse and he could not even stand up, but would not go to the hospital. Wednesday, he had an appt with his oncologist who ordered an MRI. Turns out dad had a stroke on Saturday morning. When they put him in the hospital and started testing, they found that the bladder issue was a blockage. Surgery was performed Friday to open the blockage, but they found that dad has sepsis from the bladder not emptying, then, dad apparently had a heart attack during recovery. He is now in ICU on a ventilator. This was always his worst nightmare. He was cognizant in recovery, so was given the choice to try the vent for 2 days to allow his body to try to heal, on the condition that it be removed if he shows no improvement in that time.

My family has been so supportive and helpful, but this is a very hard thing for us to face and we'd appreciate all prayers for dad's recovery or that if it's his time to go, that he not suffer. I've honestly never seen anyone in more pain than when we saw dad in recovery before they sedated him for the vent.

Thank you all because I know you'll be lifting him and his soul up for God's healing power.

And, just to let you know, DH's mom did very well and is healing well from the mastectomy.

Thank you EZ and Rosebud. That prayer is just what I've been praying. My dad's name is Lars (not Norwegian, but it just seemed to fit, I guess-lol). My FIL was Harry.

Wanted to share a story that just shows how God works in people. I just called a friend of mine (we've been friends since 7th grade). She's a wonderful Christian and really open to God's word. She said she'd been ill so she took Thursday off to rest, but she kept waking up from her nap with me on her mind and the thought that she needed to pray. She knew nothing about my dad until we talked 2 hours ago, but God told her that we needed her support. Isn't God amazing?

Just a little change here-they're trying to reduce one of the meds to see if dad's bp tolerates it, so keeping on praying. He actually has 14 bags of different meds going in right now. Can't really believe someone can be so sick and still be living....
