I finally finished tallying up my weekend, so here it is . . .

Friday:
B - oatmeal, raisins, blueberries, skim milk
L - 2 slices papa john's veggie pizza
S - apple
D - rice, stir fry of choy sum and tofu with teriyaki sauce
S - handful of raisins, some of DH's beer
E - none, it was raining

Saturday:
B - oatmeal, raisins, blueberries, skim milk
L - leftover rice and veggies
D - @restaurant, margarita, salad w/italian dressing, couple pieces of bread, 6oz bacon-wrapped :o sirloin steak w/bbq sauce, baked sweet potato with butter on the side (I only used half the butter)
S - 1/2 oz semisweet chocolate
E - none

Sunday:
B - raisin bran, skim milk
L - fettucine, sauce
D - roasted chicken, carrots, pumpkin chestnut stuffing, glass of wine
S - hot cocoa w/marshmallows

The funny thing is that even with a restaurant meal in there, my calories for Saturday and Sunday came out approximately the same (about 1750). Weird. Also weird is that Tuesday for some reason I ate 1800.

Dinner yesterday was kind of a disaster, but in terms of emotions, not actual food. :p Suffice to say that I asked DH to cook while I went for my run, expecting food to be done when I got back, and forgetting that it takes him about 10x as long to make a recipe as it takes me. Hungry Jessica = grouchy Jessica, and I am embarrassed to admit that I yelled at DH then cried because I was hungry. :o Everything worked out in the end though.

Tuesday:
B - oat bran, raisins, blueberries, sugar, skim milk
L - leftover pumpkin chestnut stuffing, asparagus, and frozen veggies
S - apple
D - spaghetti and turkey meatballs with mushrooms and green beans
S - hot apple cider
E - NRLW S4W4A

B - scrambled eggs with onion, zucchini, mushrooms; 1/2 ww bagel with laughing cow light cheese
S - Blueberry Bliss Luna bar (while on a conference call - yawn)
L - turkey sandwich on whole wheat, tomato, lettuce
S - grapes, 1 oz cheddar cheese
D - ??? provided by City Council, hopefully not pizzza :)

It is sunny outside... wish I had my stuff for the park... :(

On the upside, I went into Panera Bread and came out with only a salad. Walked right past the pastry case and the individual wrapped cookies, brownies and bagel bites stuffed all around the register...

Wednesday:

Yesterday was decent. The council meeting provided wraps, cut into pretty small pieces. I had one piece of a spicy beef one. Quite tasty. The meeting however lasted from 6 pm to 11 pm, and the mini-snickers got me (they are not Halloween candy though!)

B - oatmeal with stewed prunes, walnuts, skim milk; 1/2 ww bagel with pb
S - cookie at work
L - leftover ww spaghetti with homemade sauce
S - grapes, cheddar cheese
D - ? probably a chicken salad (out with GFs)

Ex: cardio at lunch

Did you check the wrappers, Pat?

Jessica, I'd love to see that recipe (if it turns out good)!

Shannon, I brought my running stuff to work today! It's like summer out there! 3.5 miles, baby!

Urgh. I just wasted 120 calories on nutritionally void Special K Chocolate Delight cereal.

Why, yes I did! Nary a word about a certain holiday.... The clerks buy them all the time to placate the council members and the Dept Directors who are required to attend the meetings....

B: Larabar, apple, coffee
L: leftover zucchini lasagna
S: coffee, sweetbread from the cafe (a little TOM indulgence)

Yesterday came in 17 over my TDP maintenance level, and it was hard! I was pretty close to maxed out at 3:00, but I did it! Woo hoo! And, I ate good for me food all day! (Well, except for Special K Chocolate Delight cereal, which isn't really bad for me but it pretty much nutritionally vacant...) Got my exercise in and everything!

Today:
E: cardio when I get home. Probably some kickboxing or elliptical, some yoga before bed. I find I sleep better with the yoga.
B: kashi go lean w/ skim & dried berries, coffee
S: strawberries & blueberries, string cheese
L: grilled chicken salad
S: trail mix, an apple w/ light swiss laughing cow, yogurt w/ fruit & granola
D: ground turkey breast tacos
S: don't know yet... yogurt probably. I've been passing up the yogurt lately and the tummy feels a little ick, I think I need some good bacteria in there.

Midwife, it was pretty good. Here's the recipe. (http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1536760) I used store-bought berbere instead of making my own and it wasn't super spicy. I also added some frozen peas at the end to get some more veggies in.

Thursday:
B - oatmeal, raisins, blueberries, dried cranberries, skim milk
L - leftover rice & african chicken
S - apple
D - leftovers: chicken, peas, and mole sauce on pasta, beer
E - NRLW S4W4B

Jessica - that sounds fantastic! We don't do much bone in chicken, could I do the same thing with chopped up chicken breast and then serve it over rice maybe?

paperclippy
10-15-2009, 05:22 PM
Shannon, I'm sure you could! I actually used two whole leg quarters, then after it was cooked I cut the meat off the bone, threw out the bones, and put the meat back in the sauce. It would probably not take as long to cook if you used boneless chopped up breasts!

Yesterday ended up high on sodium, but 150 under on calories... So, feeling squishy but mostly pleased. :) No exercise, had to go to the grocery store, got off work late, etc. I brought my stuff for the park today, so hopefully the sun will come out as predicted this afternoon...

Today:
B: smoothie, coffee
S: string cheese, blueberries & raspberries
L: grilled chicken salad
S: apple w/ laughing cow, yogurt w/ berries, maybe trail mix
D: dunno yet
S: dunno yet

Hi guys!

I'm not going to even attempt to be accountable for the past two weeks. BUT...as of this morning, all jet-lagged, retaining a ton of water from sodium-y plane food, and, this may be TMI, but definitely "backed up", I was up 3 lbs from when I left. If I know my body, those will fall off today and tomorrow, meaning I -think- I was well balanced enough on this trip to avoid any gain. I tried to be moderate but definitely felt like I was indulging sometimes (though we were also REALLY active...5 mile hikes, climbing all kinds of stairs, walking everywhere). So that's good!

I have a wicked cold/bronchial infection, so I've had soup for all 3 meals today and exercise is temporarily out (not sure I could do it anyway, with the jet lag). But I'm getting my eating back on plan right now, today.

Hope everyone had a great few weeks!

Welcome back Amanda! Glad you had a good trip!

Dinner tonight turned out to be a large salad. Yummy. About to go do some yoga, then probably have a snack.
