Busy weekend for me. Had a slight slip yesterday. I'll just say it involved chocolate and let it go at that. Chocolate is now on my Trigger Foods list.
I'm off this week and will do my best to stay OP. Today's laundry day. Tomorrow is shoe/sneaker shopping.

Where is everyone? Come out and play! ;)
Good day here! I had a great session with my trainer and we had a good heart to heart talk about where my head has been. I've got to get back to what I know works. I have to really get my food in line and crank my cardio back up some. I want the rest of this weight off!!!
I'm watching the Phillies game. Ugh...they are killing me. The game was theirs for the taking.
Anyway....I have my evening snack all prepped and ready. Then I will not eat another bite of food! No snacks will call my name. If I need something it will be a cup of hot tea. That's That! :dizzy:
How was your day? Everyone make good choices?
Pop your heads in and chat.

I'm still here -- have pretty much been holding steady for almost a month -- many reasons, none unavoidable, many truly difficult. Ready to be back at it. I think it's legitimate to take a pause every now and again, as long as it's not forever and not involving backsliding. It took me a little while to persuade myself of this, but I think I've finally succeeded  Tomorrow is our first appointment with our new trainer -- hopefully it's awesome. Great food planned for this week...looking forward to it, hope I can stay on plan.

Hey girls! Checking in from San Diego. The boys and I got here a couple of hours ago. It was a looooooong drive and my backside aches. We managed to get here without overeating and junk food. I packed healthy snacks and water bottles. When we got to the hotel, we had dinner at the cafe. I ordered a salad and tortilla soup. I really want to go out for a walk, but it's dark and after 11 p.m. now. Sleep is probably the best idea for now.
But I'm too excited to sleep! I got an email from Nature Made today. They've got a contest to find someone who will blog daily, for six months, about natural ways to stay in a good mood. And it's a paid position! So I wrote an extremely long list of reasons why I should have the job, it's posted to their website, and now I just need all my friends and cohorts to vote for me so I can pass Phase 1 towards getting the job.
So, will you vote for me? I hope so! You've got until October 30th to vote. The site allows one vote per IP address per day. So if you know some people who would be interested in helping me, by all means lead them to the link (http://www.sam-e.com/job/profile/382) and ask them to vote for me everyday as well. So far, the leader has over 2,000 votes. We've got some catching up to do!

Hi..just wanted to let you know I will be without my computer for a few days( praying its only a few days).
I promise to behave and stay OP. I had a long heart to heart with my sister today and Im ready to do this again..she pointed out my choices are lose the rest and keep it off or gain it back plus more. Been there and done that before and refuse to do it again.
For me the basics are watch sodium, eat veggies, lots and lots of veggies, drink my water..easy part, exercise daily which is really hard for me. I also have to be sure and weigh my meat..something I slack on often. I also know even though my calories have been right I am eating to many processed foods.

Just wanted to check in and say I'm still doing well. Eating hasn't been a problem since I got back on the metformin. Seems to really curb my appetite which is such a blessing!
I'm getting sick though. I woke up with a sore throat...poo!
Suppose to be going to California to see my son and dil in two weeks so hopefully it will be here and gone by then so I can enjoy my trip.
Glad to see so many having heart to hearts with loved ones to get them going again.. Nothing like caring people to hear us and help us thru the hard times.
Well, better go and get another throat lozenge...herbal of course! :D

Debbie, where does your son live in California?
Debi, glad to hear you could talk with your sis and get some clarity and refocus on your goals and efforts. Having a live body to talk to is good for instant feedback!
Today my sons and I went sailing in San Diego harbor. I have to say, that was an amazing experience! I always wanted to go sailing, but wasn't sure if I would get seasick or if moving my big backside around the boat would even be possible. Well, it was completely possible. We actually did some of the work on the boat, so it was great to learn that even at 305 lbs., I can learn to sail and be an effective crew mate.
The boat actually had won the America's Cup in 1992, so she was a fast boat! We got her up to 12 knots. My arms (biceps and triceps) are sore, as are my knees and calves, but I don't mind it at all because I was doing something I knew I was going to love.
I did learn something, however. It's better to have friends who sail and invite you to crew for them, often, than it is to own your own boat. I used to want to build and own my own boat, but I am happily giving that dream up. Because I suck at maintenance!
Been keeping the meals light during the trip, except for dinner tonight. Went to a Ruby's Diner and I had the turkey pot pie. I didn't eat all of it and yet I still have heartburn and a lump in my stomach. Back to the veggies tomorrow! We're going to walk the whole zoo, about three miles.

Georgia, He lives in Long Beach. We used to all live in California in Riverside County but we moved up here to Washington 6 years ago.
Sounds like it was fun on the boat! Nope, you don't want to build a boat...lol...lots of work. My parents built two and I helped on the first one. It's a never ending job of upkeep even after its built. Enjoy someone elses!!
Cold weather is settling in so I've got a yummy stew in the pot cooking away. I'm sick too so it just sounded really good and something hot to munch on.
My hubby is so cute. We had to go out and deliver Avon today and I didn't want to go to the customer's houses and get them all sick, so my dear sweet Jim went and delivered for me. I'm sure some of my customers were nicely surprised when a good looking guy comes to their doors bringing them their products.
Have a great day ladies!

Brrrrrr! It's cold out. Had to scrape the windshield this morning and leaves are falling like snow.
I've been wearing lace-up shoes for years. Shattered an ankle 25 yrs ago and always felt more comfortable with the extra support lace-ups provide. The problem is I can't put them on and lace them when I'm in a chair. (My arms are to short to reach over my tummy to get to my shoes.:o ) I need a bed or sofa where I can prop up my foot then tie the shoe. What this is leading up to is that my shoes are not light and I don't want to wear them on the scale at WW. I've been wearing my one pair of sandals but with Winter approaching I've bitten the bullet and hied myself to SAS Shoes to get ta-da ..... loafers. After an hour of fitting, fat feet, narrow heels, I'm the proud owner of a comfortable pair of loafers. They were expensive but they fit and I can kick them off at W/I this afternoon!
Heather: Glad your doing well with food. Knowing you you'll make up the exercise on the weekend.
Debbie: I love seeing guys do stuff like delivering Avon for their DWs.You are lucky to have such a great guy. Hope you're feeling better today.
Dgramie: Glad your PC is feeing better. Amazing how much we miss it when it's sick. :dizzy:
Georgia: I love to sail. I've never been on anything larger than a day sailer but it's always fun!
Walrus: You know holding steady is good. It's sure better than gaining. Let us know how it went with the new trainer.
Gotta run. Back after W/I.

I just got back from WW. I'm dragging out the cheerleaders. :cheer2::cheer2: I lost 6 lbs this week! :woohoo: I knew I'd been really careful since my slip-up on Sunday but this was more than I expected.

Judy - wow - 6 lbs. Fantastic. What did you do different this week? Good for you taking care of yourself with a new pair of shoes.
Heather - good to see you stop by - don't forget - take a minute or two for yourself.
Debi - glad the PC was fixed so quickly. Have you been able to lift weights this week?
Debbie - how sweet of DH to deliver for you. Take care of yourself please.
Georgia - I'm with you on boats - love 'em but not from an ownership standpoint. Have a safe trip back home. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time.
Terri - how are you?
Barb - getting back in the groove? What are the boys going to be for Halloween?
I've changed a few things this week - eating a few more calories - for the last 7 days I averaged just under 1700/day. Today I took it down a bit. The scale has crept up a bit with the higher calories but I do believe it will even out. My trainer got on me about three things: 1) 24 ounces of ICE cold water before anything in the morning; 2) eat within 30 minutes of when I get up; 3) eat more to fuel the body. I've done a good job with eating more and working on the other two. I always have 24 oz of water before my coffee - just not ice cold to get the metabolism moving. As for eating as soon as I get up - I'm sure it's a mind thing but seems like once I put food in my mouth it gets my appetite going for the day. I am following her advice and making sure I eat every 2-3 hours.
Anybody eating anything fun or different?

Nothing fun or different over here, sadly, unless you count the fact that my husband's lost weight and I've gone up 4 pounds so far this month. Food has sucked, exercise has been worse, I have a cold, and it's miserable out.
On the plus side, my husband adores me, we've been eating fabulous salads most nights, the cats are snuggly because it's getting colder out, and I start a new photography class on Sunday, which will get me moving.

Still feeling crappy and it's rainy outside so I'm just staying put under my afghan and trying to get over this cold before vacation in one more week.
Debi, glad the puter is fixed. We don't realize how lost we are without them til they have problems.
Any word on Annie?
J-ann, congrats on the 6lbs lost! Keep it up! :carrot:
Carol, with the cold weather here, I don't see how you can drink that much ICE cold water! BBBBrRRrrrrr! I have a hard time just getting room temp water down. lol
Yes, it's nice to have a hubby that will do deliveries. Today he went and took one for me and they had him come in the house and TAKE an order for them! It's so cute, cuz he called me and needed a product number for an item. Sometimes I think he's more into Avon than I am. LOL
Walrus, our kitties are getting snuggly too and even the dog. Sorry to hear about the weight gain but with the healthy eating that it sounds like your doing now, things will turn around.
Have a great weekend ladies!

Debbie - the ice water is tough for me. I have no problem with water - but the ice makes it harder for me to drink as much. No formal update on Annie - I think she is waiting on the second opinion still from what I know.
I have had a great day. Started out with water class at 630, did some errands, finished with a cardio class - great hour workout. Made a big pot of Southwestern Soup - supposed to be a Chilli's recipe - it's awesome. 100 calories/cup.
Tomorrow is a baby shower and then dinner with friends. My goal is no food at the shower and ordering a steak at our favorite Italian place. I'm not good with portion control and pasta once it's on my plate.

Hi Ladies!
It's late and I'm about to crawl in bed but I wanted to say Hi first!
J-ann....6 pounds!?!?!? WOOHOO!! Way to go chickie! :cheer:
Everyone else get's  and :high: for tonight.
It's been a hectic week. Work has been a little nuts and I was in the Boston area on Wed/Thurs. Tonight was a quiet, fun night at a girlfriend's house. Four of us had dinner and great conversation. Tomorrow is date night with the hubby. Not sure yet what we are doing. Then on Sunday, if the weather cooperates, I have a bike date with a friend. Should be a fun, busy weekend.
I'm still struggling a bit to get my food game back on track. Exercise it good...could use a little more cardio, but all in all it's good. Gotta get the calories under control. This was a big part of tonight's conversation with the girls and I'm making mental progress. :dizzy:
If my boys will actually put on their Halloween costumes we are going to have a little Elmo (the 2 yo) and a "Rocket Ship Driver" aka Astronaut (the 4yo). They seemed excited to pick out the costumes, but have yet to put them on yet. The oldest is just looking forward to the day he gets to "go knock-knock and get candy". :D
I think I hear my bed calling my name. Sweet Dreams to all!

Hi everyone. Work is kicking my butt these days, but I'm NOT stress eating. Exercise needs to bump up some, but at least my eating is under control. Well, to be honest, if I want to lose, I need to cut down the calories some more.

Barb, please share pictures of the boys with their costumes on in your blog! (If they will wear them...) My boys are too big to be cute in costumes any longer. And besides, they're scary all the time now.
Carol, I too have problems with portion control and pasta. If I can make a good decision on the front end of making dinner and only cook a single portion, then I'm okay. But at a restaurant, that's dangerous for me! I think I've only truly had a single portion of pasta when I ate a Lean Cuisine or something like that.
We're still in LA, staying at a friend's house for the weekend. We're going to see Spamalot tonight, and driving home tomorrow. We got a lot of sun this last week, and I am really worn out. Today, it's nice to let the boys sleep in and drink coffee with my girlfriend and not go anywhere. I am worn out!
Yesterday we walked all over USC, again. We went to the School of Cinematic Arts. My son really wants to go there, for a degree in Interactive Media. We visited the Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts. What a cool building! We saw some very innovative video games being designed...not at all competitive with shooting and gore. They were designed to help people learn to create balance in their lives, or to help them wind down after a rough day and go to sleep, and one taught social science in a graphic novel format. There was some really beautiful artwork in them. My boys wanted to move in, because all the labs had XBox, Wii and Playstation in them, with all the coolest games. And there were traditional board games and card games all over the place, because the students actually play those games to study game playing strategies and techniques.
(Maybe if we got to play Legos when I studied architecture I would have graduated.)
So, eating has been pretty good on the trip. I noticed when I'm really busy and caught up having fun, I don't think about eating at all, but when it's finally time to eat, I order big! Still, I made wise choices, making sure to make at least half my order be non-fried and non-sauced vegetables. The boys discovered fried zucchini at a Ruby's Diner and tried to convince me to make veggies like that from now on. Not going to happen!
I miss my bed. Looking forward to sleeping at home again. My youngest son said something about wanting to go home. Those were lovely words to hear. He's starting to think of our little place as home.

Popping in for a late night hello! The weather has been so dreary here. Today I hit the gym for cardio and then spent the day bumming around with the boys. Tonight we had a sitter and Jeff and I went on a date. We went out for a nice dinner (I made pretty good choices) and then went to Lowe's (I know, exciting stuff) then we ended up just driving and then sat in a parking lot and talked for a long time. It was not a typical date, but all in all was a good night. I think.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to have a bike date with a friend, however I don't think the weather is going to cooperate with us. I'll likely hit the gym and do a lil shopping. DH is going out of town again this week so I'll get my errands out of the way before he goes. That makes juggling the boys a little easier.
Tomorrow I will also prep a lot of healthy food for the week.
Well, gals, I'm off to bed. I hope you are all doing wonderfully!

OMG! I'm really suffering right now. My girlfriend took us to Buca di Beppo for dinner tonight. Did I not just say that I can't control my pasta portions? Well, these people are total enablers! I've NEVER felt this full before! And I broke so many rules. When we left for the restaurant, I hadn't eaten for over six hours and I was starving. When we arrived, I ordered a cocktail before dinner, so that deflated all my good intentions. And then, they serve family style, so everyone insisted on ordering what they wanted (which is what I wanted to do) and all the small serving platters fed (they said) 2-3 people (more like 4 hungry people). We had ordered three entrees and a side of green beans (the token veggie).
We sat in the kitchen, a special table right by the kitchen that sees all the action. That was actually quite fun. We got involved with yelling for "runners" (wait staff that needed to take platters out). And we got extra garlic mozzarella bread and extra spaghetti just because we were there and we were having fun with the staff. And a free piece of chocolate cake.
So, I'm sure that meal had some soy in the cake and the bread. But I am too stuffed and sleepy from eating and drinking too much to be able to tell. Carol, for the rest of our vacation, I did really well. Every place we ate at was very accommodating. And we completely avoided all fast food! I'm so happy about that!
Sunday morning we go home. I anticipate TOM to start in another day or two, so I will not be weighing in for over a week. If I don't look, it won't hurt, and it never happened. Right?
Today, there was no real exercise. But I did walk from the far end of the parking lot, plus climbed stairs, to the theater (and back) at Costa Mesa in high heeled boots, and I'm in pain and my feet hurt as a result, so I'm counting that as about 10 minutes of cardio. I did work up a sweat and I was breathing quickly. And my hypothalamus was completely exercised for 2.5 hours while watching Spamalot (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/133894-Spamalot_Tour_Ends_Oct._18_in_Costa_Mesa_) (my abs hurt too). Lots of fun!
My older son Quinn told me today that this was the best family vacation ever. That really made me happy. My kids were so accustomed to world travel while we lived overseas, everything from riding camels at the pyramids at Giza, having Christmas near the Eiffel Tower and seeing New Year's Eve fireworks over the Acropolis. I was afraid that a simple little American road trip was going to bore them to tears. Maybe I can be brave and actually take them hiking and camping in the spring!

Georgia - safe travels home. I'm always so happy to get back to my bed even though I have loved the travel.
My resolve with baby shower food failed - then to compound it I apparently decided to continue into dinner. I did order steak instead of pasta - one good choice. All told 2855 calories - this is progress though - each and every bite recorded.

I had a tough day yesterday.Like Carol I wrote it all down. I used up almost all my spare points though. Found butter in the freezer and used it as an excuse for popcorn and to smear on bread. Another trigger! Eek!!
Butter's now in the trash with dog food sprinkled on it so it can't be saved.
Georgia: What a neat experience dining in the kitchen. How cool. Pasta's tough one for me to estimate a portion size of too. I haven't eaten it out since I restarted a month ago. Although I wouldn't do this dining in a first class establishment in most pasta places I ask for the take out box as soon as the food arrives and I pack it with all that I shouldn't eat at one sitting before I start eating. It really does work.
Barb: Hope you get to bike today. It's fantastic here. Cool, sunny and the leaves are just past peak color.
