Hi,
I am on MRC and although I love the program and am doing well, I can't afford the fruit flavored protein drinks they sell. Does anyone know where to find flavors other than chocolate or vanilla that are reasonably priced? I am supplementing with Special K water but has too many carbs and not enough protein.

Thanks!!

taytay, you can order same drinks different packaging from dietdirect.com. The
ProtiDiet Protein Fruit Drink Concentrate go on sale for $7.99/box fairly frequently. Click on the RED SALE tag at top right of page to see what is on sale this week (Sales run Sunday to Sunday). Order over $49 and you get a free sample pack (2 or three individual pkgs of various things), order over $79 and you get free shipping, order over $99 and you get 10% off (Coupon code SAVEME10). They are located in Wilmington NC so if you are in NC, they'll charge you sales tax. When I ordered on a Friday afternoon, the box arrived Saturday FedEx (but I am just 3 hours up the road from them). Good Luck, jeanette

Thanks! I will have to order that next time. I went to GNC and bought a mixed berry whey protein powder, it's ok. Not as good as I hoped!!

i will warn you, some of these do not taste the same. i ordered a few, including my favorite at mrc-wildberry, but they have not been very good in the proti-diet brand. some of these i have to choke down. the pink lemonade tastes the same though.

The wildberry is different ... the others are the identical product, produced at the same facility in Canada, private labeled for different weight loss centers.

The peach mango didn't taste the same to me either.. When I order online, I get just the orange, grape and fruit punch. They taste the same..

I order the Bari-Wise brand from Diet-direct. There r some slight differences
MRC-70 cal
Bariwise-60 cal
Cholesterol: MRC 0 Bariwise 5
Sodium: MRC 5 Bariwise 10
Postassium: MRC 10 Bariwise 75
Carb: MRC 2 Bariwise <1
Sugars: MRC 2 Bariwise 0
Protein is the same 15 and they taste great but they do have aspartame

Question - On these shakes are they the concentrate? The ones from dietdirect that is.... I always get those from MRC and haven't tried the powder.

What about the muscle protein powders sold at GNC etc? My budget is getting painfully tight and I'm really looking for some alternatives.

I purchase the ProtiDiet brand concentrates ... they has no aspartame, but are sweetened with sucralose.

Just got an email that the ProtiDiet fruit drinks are on sale. Like Reuse Lady said they used to be 7.99 per box but they have gone up to $8.49. Still if you buy $79 shipping is free and $99 you get an additional 10% off plus they send you some samples.
I stick with grape flavor. Tried others didn't like them as much. They also have a great shaker for those powdered concentrates or shakes.

Ditto dance4ever. I just bought 13 boxes of the ProtiDiet drinks for $95 (got an additional 10% off for volume purchase) and got free shipping.

How about skimfast?

Hi lucky8 - I wanted to help you on your skimfast question, but I can't find a single thing about skimfast (google thinks I mean slimfast) - I found some obscure references that seem to indicate they are part of the Atkins plan, but couldn't find any place that sells that product so that I could compare the label to an HNS. So, maybe you've got a box and you can compare it yourself? If so, here's the HNS label (from a Wildberry powder):

Calories 70
Total Fat 0g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 10mg
Potassium 75mg
Total Carb 3 g
Protein 15g

So hopefully that helps you decide if the skimfast is an appropriate substitute. :)

Since I'm guessing you meant Slimfast, it has too many carbs, unless you can find the low carb one, then the fat content is higher .... I did use Atkins shakes in a pinch, but they are higher in fat too.

I was feeling the pinch after a few months of the HNS, so I started trying some different alternatives. First, I tried the Proteinex stuff from DietDirect. YUCK!! :barf: That was a no-go. One day in Wal-Mart, I happened to check the label on their protein powder and found it was very similar to the MRC drinks. A full scoop of their stuff has 140 calories, 2g of fat, 4g of carbs, and 26g of protein. The label says there are about 27 scoops, so if you cut those in half, you end up with over 50 servies for somewhere around $12. It didn't affect my weight loss and saved me a ton of money in the process

How does it taste, billdo? Is it like a fruit punch mix or something similar? Thx for the tip. May try that when I run out of the 13 boxes of ProtiDiet I just bought. :)

They have chocolate, vanilla, chocolate/peanut butter, and strawberry. I typically don't like powders, but I got a cheap hand blender that fixed that problem. I really liked the concentrated MRC HNS (even the wildberry), but it was just too expensive.

The protein powder at walmart, is it a walmart brand, if not what is the brand name, and do you mix it with water, crystal light, skim milk?

I just checked my husbands container of his Whey Protein that I had purchased at wal-mart for him. It says " Body Fortress" Super Advanced Whey Protein it is a 2 lb container. It is chocolate flavored. The only difference with the above information is that it is only 130 cal. Hope this helps everyone.
PS - it tells you to mix it with water.

Thanks for the tip. I ran out to Wal-mart and bought some and it's pretty good. Question: Do you count this as a creamy or a clear?
