I am very pleased that I've hit my goal of weighing 150lbs. I have gone from quite chubby with a double chin to fairly slim. I still want to lose more and will set a new goal, having found that my waist measurement is still too high to be considered healthy, but am delighted to have got this far. The forum has been really helpful with lots of supportive comments. Good luck to everyone else.

WOW! Good job - you must be doing a happy dance (and I'm doing one along with you)! You should be so proud of yourself for meeting your goal!

I know you will continue to be successful with your weight loss - you've proven you have the determination and the patience needed for the long haul.

Thanks so much for sharing your success with those of us still in the first stage of our journey - it's uplifting and gives us hope.

Wow, lots of congratulations :0) thanks very much everyone. Quite some time later I am still at 150 which is great - I now want to lose a bit more as I am getting married in summer and want to look my best!

In answer to a question much earlier up the thread, I think I lost the weight by taking up running. I also gave up eating potato, bread, pasta, rice etc in the evening - I tend to have protein and veg for dinner. I still eat plenty of carbs at breakfast and lunch. I have no idea whether the evening thing has any scientific basis, but for whatever reason, it did seem to work for me. The principles of the food doctor diet (which I got from a friend) were helpful, although I didn't like the recipes, but the general advice on food types and portion size was helpful. Finally I have cut down on alcohol and puddings. I have two booze free days a week at least, and on the other days try to have no more than one unit (doesn't always happen that way!).

Thanks again to everyone for the kind congratulations and good luck with your goals.
