Hello everyone,
I need help remembering the name of a movie I saw a while back. It has been driving me crazy for the past month and none of the people I have asked has seen it nor do they remember it.
The only details I can remember is one scene towards the end of the movie.
The setting of the movie is fairly old but the breakdown is a black man has been accused of either rape/murder (not sure) that someone else committed. I believe either a white/mexican dude did it. Well the black man is found not guilty and is released. When he leaves the courthouse, there are lots of media and reporters outside waiting for the man to come out. Anyway when he parts through the crowd and gets in the car with his wife, a mother walks up to the window of the car and knocks on it. The guy rolls down the window and she apologizes for everything he has been through and then puts a gun to his head and shoots him and kills him.
That's all I can remember! The woman was either the mother of the person killed/raped or the mother of the true guilty guy. I am stumped!!!! If this rings a bell let me know!!!!

thanks! :dizzy:

I can picture the movie and I think its made in the 60s and he is accused of rape.

With a little help of the IMDB is it "To Kill a Mockingbird"?

I thought "To Kill A Mockingbird", too, but no. I also thought about that movie with Sally Field, but don't think that is it either. Was it an in the theaters movie or a made for tv movie?

I don't know either.
I'll ask my husband. He watches a lot of old movies.

I thought it was to Kill a Mockingbird as well. I remember seeing that movie but can't remember the name of it.

Was Samuel L. Jackson the guy that played the accused man?

Thanks for passing your obsession on to me because now I must know the answer! :chin:

A Time to Kill with Samuel Jackson?

I thought that one was the one where the African American little girl was raped and the father killed the guys who did it after they got off or something...he shot em, then he was on trial and the who was defending him kept getting threatened by the KKK or something. I think Sandra Bullock was in that one too.

Good movie though...now I want to watch it.

While the rest of the OP's description sounds sorta like A Time to Kill, I don't remember anybody being killed at the *end* of the movie, I think everybody just celebrates that the black guy walked.

It sounds almost like The Green Mile but it's been so long since I saw that movie I can't remember how it ended.

My response was in reply to another asking if it was A Time to Kill... I gave the basic movie plot as what I remembered it. I wasn't suggesting that it was A Time to Kill. ;)

...

Green Mile isn't it either...but another wonderful movie! :D

It isn't Just Cause either...hmmmms...I want to know what it is too! lol

Sorry guys,
But it's none of the suggestions given! I hate that this is the only scene that I can recall. No, I don't remember any of the actors in the scene because non of them are really famous. It's not Samuel L. Jackson. I own A Time to Kill and yes it is a similar plot but Samuel L Jackson is set free at the end and they have a BBQ. He doesn't die. And it's not To Kill A Mockingbird or Eye for an Eye with Sally Fields. In that movie Keifer Sutherland was the bad guy. This movie was not made for TV it was released. I am not sure about it being in theaters though. It's not a very old movie but the setting of the movie itself takes place in probably the 60's or
70's for sure because I remember that people in the movie were still really racist and instantly accused the black man of the crime just because he was black. And the guy is an older man probably in his late 40's, early 50's. And also, the woman who shoots him reminds me of Richie's mother on La Bamba. But I looked up her up but it wasn't her.

Man this is driving me crazy guys! Sorry for pulling you into it! I just can't stand it when I can't remember stuff. UGH!!!!

I did that and added in more info and kept getting news stories and like stuff from that crime library site lol. Like this case that happened in 1930 or something...ahhhhh I got distracted reading it. lol

I think it might be the 1988 movie, Lady in White.

fluffygirl
10-26-2009, 06:19 PM
No, it's not the Lady in White. I have that movie at home and although the little girl is murdered there is no trial in the movie and no one else is killed besides the killer falling off of a cliff at the end. Too bad, so sad....this thing is still driving me crazy! Keep your thinking caps on though we can crack this I know it! :dizzy:
