100 lb. Club - My Third 10% Goal!
09-28-2009, 11:03 PM
Today marks the third time I've lost ten percent of my total body weight. :dizzy: I chose to use 10% points for this set of mini-goals, with a few other goals along the way . . .
360 - starting point
324 - first goal
292 - second goal
263 - current weight!
237 - next goal, and only 2 pounds from my Christmas challenge goal of 235 :D
214 - fifth goal
193 - sixth goal
174 - seventh goal
157 - eighth goal
142 (?) - final goal has always been 150, but I'm willing to be flexible ;)
I think it's really helped me to break it down like this, and for the first time in ages I have hope again for not only the 220's (my lowest weight as an adult), but beyond. I can't wait to see where I'm at by my birthday in February, as I hope I can get down to that area by then. :dizzy:
I know I haven't always been an avid poster but I do read here a lot and find inspiration from all of you every day. I doubt I'd have done this well so far if it weren't for everyone's support. :grouphug:

that's such a good idea - 100+ pounds sounds so UNimaginable, so UNdo-able but 10% sounds something we can manage! PS Avatar is rockin' :D

I can't look at small goals too closely, for me I need to see the big picture.. but I have broke down my 10%s and keep them as a tiny victory! I hit my first 10% this week.. I'm so excited!

You have lost almost 100 even pounds. That is so amazing and wonderful! It is truly awesome. You'll have yto write up a "mini-goal" entry for it to encourage us all.
You know what I think is really important to let others know--it's the mental shift you have made. You had one way of looking at food, one way of looking at your body, and the world around you. That has changed. I know it has. It must change before and during the loss of so many pounds over so much time.
I am so thrilled for you! I'm so excited--and inspired, too. Because if you can do what it takes to lose 100 pounds, then I can too, (I hope).
Rock on, sister.

Thank you so much everyone!!! :grouphug:
I decided to play with a BMI calculator today. I actually realized that I'm only one pound away from crossing over from my current "morbidly obese" status to just "severely obese." One pound! And I'm only three pounds away from losing an even one hundred? That's just freakin' crazy!
But yeah, I'm only going to be "severely obese?!!!" Well not bad, considering that I started out as "super morbidly obese" with a BMI of 54.7! :o I'm currently at 40.0, and only two goals away from the mere title of just being "obese." One of these days I'll only be "overweight," and maybe I'll even hit "ideal" before I know it! ;)
I certainly do feel a change in attitude and my mental state when it comes to my eating, my body, and my entire life. I think I will do a bit of writing at this forum when I lose the next three pounds. :)
Thanks again everyone!!!
P.S. And seriously, if anyone wants a simple animated avatar (like of a before and after pic like mine) just PM me and I'll see if I can help. :dizzy:

What a great idea, breaking it up into 10% increments. That way, your goal is less and less weight as it gets harder to lose. I'm totally going to do it! It's good to see too that 10% get smaller as you get smaller!
