GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I really liked the message this one gives:
Forget the excuses, let go of the shoulds, move beyond the if onlys, and ask yourself this one question. Are you willing or are you not?
All the many things that go into any achievement can be reduced to one clear and simple factor. And that is -- are you willing?
When you are willing to do what it takes, you'll find a way. When you are willing, though circumstances conspire against you, you'll get it done anyway. When you're truly willing, the problems have a way of being transformed into opportunities. When you're really willing, the disappointments have a way of making you even more determined.
If you're willing, that's great -- go for it with everything you have. Yet if you're not willing, there's still a way to become so.
Somewhere, somehow, there is something that will inspire and engage you fully. Connect yourself with it and suddenly, you'll be willing, willing to do whatever it takes.
-- Ralph Marston
Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

Hello Ladies!
Well, it's Viv! Remember me? It's 5am and as I sometimes feel insomnia, figured it was a good time to post.
My absence was due to many things, most importanly, the job search thing which I THINK has been resolved, or at least is in the process. I simply did not have any time to commit to the thread as I did during my boring job where I surfed 5 hours a day!! :) The other reason was a barrage of weight gain (@#$%!!!) due, I think, to these hormone supplements (not the bad combo) that I have been taking to get my levels back in order. I felt it was a losing battle and no matter how hard I tried, the weight kept coming on.
Well, with work kind of in place again, it's time to attack this gain and figure out what is going on. And since SB worked better for me than anything in the past, SB it is.
Of course, there's the vacation challenge as well. When in Rome.....
I had been going to Curves religiously to work out 3-5 times per week and really loved it. But then the kids went on vaco and it was hard enough just getting work in, let alone get out to the gym for an hour. I don't see that getting fixed regularly till school's back on, but I think I will try to get in the evening walks again.
Anyway, for those of you who were with me when I lost my (horrible) job of 5 years...it was a blessing in disguise. I am now doing Event Management (corporate only), as well as starting a Site Selection Service for meetings throughout the world with a friend. We have great hopes for that biz. I love Event Management and was made to do it (plus had a BG in it anyway). And, yes, still doing the Ebay thing. I got hooked up with someone through networking, a couple who is retired and moving to FLA and liquidating 40 years of collecting quality stuff. It's fun but time consuming. But we need the flow!!!
So, the SB thing is going to take a while to get going full force again. I need to get the head on straight, butthe bottom line is I hate the way I look. Haven't even weighed, but the clothes tell me enough. DARN!@!!!!! It's hard to diet when you feel the meds you are on will keep you from succeeding.
BUT I am committing to posting at least 3 times per week. It's a start. I miss my SB friends and WOE and HAVE to find a way to make this work again.
So, nuf about me - how is everyone here? Still losing?
Deb - I see that question mark on your stats - how is it going? have you gotten back into the Ebay thing? How are the kids, and darling hubby?
Kimmi - are you still OP? Sorry abou tthe emails, I get SO many for work I want to throw the computer out the window! Tell me about your success!!!
Everyone else - let me know how you're doing.
It's good to be back.

Hi everyone!
Some GREAT news: We found a house, and our offer was accepted!!! *happy dance*
Need your thoughts & prayers… The couple that owns the house is going thru a divorce, and one of them is being a pain about signing the purchase agreement. Ugh! Please send good thoughts that he signs today. :)
Also, I have to contact an old landlady for a reference, and we didn’t part on very good terms. Now I have to call her and ask her to write a letter saying I was a good tenant that paid on time, etc. Wish me luck!
So, Lord willing, we MAY have our house by September 1st! That gives me a month until the wedding to move my stuff in and get settled, clean my old apartment, etc. Dan and I have agreed that we won’t spend the night there together until after we’re married, to make/keep it special for the both of us.
This also means that I can have all my out-of-town guests stay at our new house (luckily I have a small family :D). We can also have a “cookout” for the rehearsal dinner. Can we tell I’m excited? Please think happy thoughts that this all works out…
No news yet on either the blood work or the ultrasound – I’m sure my Dr. will let me know. She’s really nice, and she’s got to know I’m worried.
Dan and I had a wonderful time in Wisconsin. We stayed at a cute Best Western about halfway to our destination, and had fun chatting with a family from Minnesota over continental breakfast.
We went to the hometown of our favorite NASCAR driver, Matt Kenseth (#17). He’s from Cambridge, WI, and his family has his fan club store there. It was really a great little town, very friendly people, wonderful stores, and the fan club store was wonderful! We bought a little die-cast car for John, a badge holder for Dan, and a mini-beanie for me. For the house, we got a gorgeous wall-clock, and my wish is to have it autographed someday. Boy, I do ramble on! :)
Anyhow, thanks to everyone for your support. I am back on track today, and hoping to finally see that scale move in a positive direction – DOWN!
Have a great day! Love and hugs,
Jenn

Happy Monday Gang,
Boy was it hot this am when I went to walk. It was 80 at 5:15. I was wringing wet when I got home. Didn't get to walk over the weekend so I really had to make it good today. Went on and got my workout done after my walk. Now I am done for the day unless I find soem time this evening to sneak some more in.
I was sure glad to get on the computer last nite and get caught up so I didn't have 4 pages of posts to read when I got to work (boss tends to frown on that, imagine!). Hope I can make it to chat Tues.
Nothing going on with me. Trying to drinks lots of water to counter-act all the wine, etc I drank on Sat.
Since this board always has lots of prayers going, I need some today for my niece. She has to go to court with her ex. He won't abide by the settlement, owes her bunches of money and wants more time with the girls. This has been the worst divorce case. He is addicted to prescription drugs (and we know he sells them), a big time lair and gay (not intended to offend anyone who may be). He doesn't spend the time he has with the girls as it is and he wants more. He won't come to any of their activities, sports, etc. He is a big loser. This divorce has already cost my niece over $50,000 and her lawyer has quit charging her. So please send some prayers that things go her way today. The judge threatened to throw them in jail if anyone broke any of the settlement agreement. She has 50 pages of violations on him. Thanks for yur prayers and good thoughts.
Have a great day everyone.

Hey Everyone!!
So far so good on my first day back! If I can make it through the first day - all will be good. I find that it is much easier to do this WOE while I am working and not off for the summer. I tend to graze while at home. If I were at work - there would be no time to graze. Oh well, let's see how today goes!!!
I still have my splint in my nose from this last procedure - very uncomfortable! Hopefully it will come out tomorrow!! I can't wait. Then I still have to take it easy so that I don't start up with the nosebleeds again! Keep your fingers crossed!!
JACK-K: I just can't imagine why your boss wouldn't want you reading 4 pages of posts at work?!? Come on now!! I can't believe that your niece has $50K in divorce bills!!! Poor thing! I will definately keep her in my thoughts!! Good thing the lawer has stopped charging her - that was nice of him/her.
JENN: Way to go on the house! I know that you are excited! I hope all goes well with the process! What are you waiting on bloodwork and ultrasound stuff for? I've been MIA so I don't know what's going on - I hope all is ok?!
VIV: Welcome back!! Glad to hear that you are getting your life back in order with the new job! Now it's time to get those hormones under control!! It will all work out - I'm just glad you are back!
DEB: Great motivational monday thought! I've been missing all of your inspiring thoughts! I am able to talk now - I've been talking up a storm since June 18th! If I could just get this schnozz under control everything will be just great. I can't exercise until this is all taken care of - and you know it's hard for me to stay on plan when I'm not exercising! I don't know why - but it is! I'm just glad to be back because I missed you!!!
Ok everyone - have a good day - I'll be back later!!

Happy Monday Everyone:wave:
Seems the boards where down for a while, but luckily they are up and running again:D
Well, call me nuts! It's bad enough that I go out and exercise in this unbearable heat, but this morning I really went all out. Not only did I go into unchartered walking/jogging territory, I went pretty darned far! After I got home I hopped into the car to see the miles I put in and I'm proud to say I LOGGED 9.3MILES THIS MORNING!!!! Don't ask me why, well, maybe it was all the crap I ate yesterday that motivated me to go this long/far-figured something had to give since I got to eat so much yesterday (all junk), so, I felt good, felt like I could do it, and did it! Feet are a wee bit sore but no worse for the wear. Took me 1 hour 51 minutes and 58 seconds to complete. Guess you could say I had a funny incident along the way. At about mile 7 there were two cops doing traffic stops with the radar gun and one cop yells out to me "you're clocking it at 5mph!". All I could muster up in saying was "thanks!" I'm sure if my brain wasn't fried from the heat I could of come up with something better to say, like "Darn, you are one fine looking policeman!" which he was!;) 5mph after going that long, wonder what I clock when I'm fresh and it's cooler out there. Being that it was so hot and I walked a lot of it, I'm hopeful the time I put for the WDW Marathon will be accurate for me:)
I refuse to get on the scale. Not only because what I consumed over the weekend, but I'm totally bloated and it's definitely mid-cycle for me, so no use in making myself suffer with the news that's bound to be on the scale. I'm 100% OP today and will wait a while before I get on the metal monster once again.
Now that the weekend is over, Eli's back at work, kids are at school and I can resume what's normal for me-back to the board!!! I'm too far behind to try to catch up with any of the posts, it's been since Thursday since I really read the board, so I hope you don't mind if I start anew today. If you posted a particular question for me to repsond to, please post it again-promise to answer.
VIV, WELCOME BACK! I don't kill myself getting on the scale daily, so when I put a ? mark that means I just haven't stepped on the scale to know the current numbers. Nothing with Ebay, esp. now that the laptop isn't working! If it's not one thing, it's another. Thought about selling everything I have, it's killing me to pay the storage fees for it all, and for what. Wouldn't be bad if I was covering those bills. I really have to decide what to do.
JENN, wish you lots of luck with this house. I always say, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be! Sending lots of good wishes that you get this one! Keep us informed!!! Sounds like you had a great time in Wis!!
JACK, fixed your double post;) You can always do it yourself should it happen again, or even add to a post if you want, just click on the little EDIT word at the upper right of your post. Good going on the walk, as you can tell from above, I can definitely sympathize with you, it was 83 or more when I went out this morning and I too was drenched when I got home- at least I know I'm not nuts all by myself;) Good luck to your Niece-sounds nasty. Gay? When did that come about?
FRUIT, glad to see you back:D I hope your booger collector gets better already! Just keep your fingers out of there, would you?!? Was going to call you over the weekend and thought I'd better wait to see if you were talking much - will call one day soon:)
Okay, I MUST jump in the shower. Kids will be getting out of school soon and I have to get ready to take Michael for his guitar lesson.
Will check in later!
Have a wonderful day and a great week!

Good Monday morning!
I'll never get caught up with posts from last week so hope ya'll don't mind if I just start fresh from today. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Deb, I liked the post for MM. You always manage to give us something good to chew on, so to speak. Less than two weeks now until Tranquil and I come visit. We sure are excited about our mini vacation. Are you preparing a good menu for Eli to cook for us?
fruit, you must be so tired of problems with your nose. I hope it will heal right this time. Glad to see that you want to be back OP.
Viv, Hello and welcome back. I'm still somewhat of a newbie, been around here since June. How long has it been since you were active on the board? Good for you on making the decision to come back. I couldn't do this WOE without the support and friendship that I've found here. I'll look forward to getting better acquainted with you.
Jenn, congratulations on the successful bid on a home. I hope everything will fall into place nicely before your wedding.
Jack-K, I'm so glad to hear that you can get online at home now. The nerve of your boss frowning on you catching up on posts at work. Doesn't he or she know what is most important?;) Sorry to hear about your niece's problems with the ex. Sounds like she has really had a bad time with him. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. I've been to court more times than I care to count with my DS and it has never been pleasant. I also have that to look forward to with the ex-2-b in the near future. Hope you can make it to chat on Tuesday.
Tranquil, hope your trip to the airport to take DS went smoothly and without any security problems.
Well, ladies, all of the talk about TOM that goes on here has really gotten to me. Tom departed my life about 3 years ago due to the onset of early menopause. He is now trying to make a BIG comeback and I am not pleased about that. :( My weight is up several pounds and I've been eating OP. I'm very bloated and miserable with awful cramps and spotting. If he isn't trying to reappear, then something else must is going on. Maybe this is all just in sympathy for those of you that still have this ordeal. :)
Well, my ex-2-b is supposed to move out this week so I am eagerly awaiting his departure. My DS may be going soon too, as I am giving him an ultimatum to shape up his behavior and be productive, or I'm packing his bags. I am just so happy that I can stay OP during the stressful mess at my house and not turn to the comfort foods.
I found two quotes that I like and would like to share since this is MM. One is about progress and the other is about action.
PROGRESS: Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress.
- Alfred A. Montapert-
ACTION: Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor and catch the trade winds in your sails.
- Mark Twain-
Hope everyone has a great MM.
Think I'm caught up for now. I have to go have some blood work done in advance of a doctors appointment later this week. I'm sure hoping the Cholesterol level has come down.
Take care,
Wendy

Monday- Just checking in in this wee quick posty thing because of my fear of the computer freezing, as usual.
I have bad news about my exercising. :( My left knee began to really ache and bother me yesterday. I have Patella Femoral Pain Syndrome but it has been much better since I lost my first 50 lbs. They still crunch and pain when I sit too long but other than that they are usually okay. I remember last week while doing one of my WATP tapes (the deep sidesteps for other users! ;) ) I noticed my knee snap. I can't really explain the feeling but I knew something was not good. I tried to switch the deep sidestep things for kickbacks but the harm was done. I still exercised the rest of the week like always, but I don't think it was wise. I am going to give myself a few days to see if it helps and when I go back, I will forgo the sidesteps because I can feel they twist/bend my knee in a bad way and replace them with the kickbacks. I had some anti-inflammatories from my last bad knee session so I started back on those Sunday night. Bummer. I hate to lose the momentum that I have been having with my exercising.
My dishwasher is officially dead! I trust most women can sympathize with me on this one, especially since I have a family of 5 to feed and clean up after. I am going miss it because my clean up time is about 3 times longer now. Maybe my mother will have pity on me..who knows.
Oh..the kids want to perform a wedding ceremony for our male and female Plymouth chickens! I gotta go find a bow tie...gotta love this rural life with kids, huh?

Good afternoon everyone. I'm still struggling but doing good with staying OP after my vacation. This is sure hard!!! I really am hungry all the time. It sure makes a difference when you get that bad food in your body... I have learned a lesson for me that a cheat is really a big deal. Before vacation it was allot easier. I didn't have the cravings so could stay OP so much easier. Well I'll just have to tuff it out the next couple of weeks...
Debilli- Sure needed that motivational "Are you willing" today.... I'll try to imprint on my mind!!!! Way to go on your walk/run-wowwie zowwie....
Viv- Hey gal welcome back. Hurray for you jumping back in here. Good for you still going to curves.... Glad you're getting your job straightened out.. Sounds like really busy work... Anyway this is a good day to start SB!!!!! And again welcome back.
Jenn in MN- Oh hurray for a house!!!! So happy you found one and your offer was accepted.. Prayer going up for everything to work out great for you..
Jack-K- Oh my gosh you're just 2 lbs. away from me.... AHHHHH...... Prayers for your niece....
Fruitloupe-Good luck with you nose. I sure am sending up a good thought about those dang nose bleeds.. congrads on your first day back. I know what you mean about it being easier to graze while at home.
Serene- Hope you lose that bloat soon! Sounds like you're really dealing with all of lifes problems. And you deserve a big pat on the back for staying OP durning it... Hope you blood work goes well. I like your quotes on progress and action...
gracious-Oh your poor knee! Sounds like it does need a break.. Boo hoo for your dishwasher.
Well I'm caught up for the minute so I'm off to read some in my doctor Phil book... Have a great afternoon...

GRACIOUS: I'm going to have to look up that syndrome that you have. My husband complains all the time - for years actually - about how bad his knee hurts after sitting for a long time. When we go out to eat he has to sit on the side of the booth where he can stretch out his leg so that his knee doesn't hurt too bad. He isn't overweight or anything - we just figured something was pulled in there and he's to chicken to get it checked out! Give me more info on that ok?!

Hi again,
Well, miracle of miracles, my old landlady was very happy to hear from me, and says she will be glad to write me a letter. *happy dance*
Now I just need to track down my current landlord, who decided to move to Florida. I didn’t know this until I called his office phone and got a “disconnected” message with the new number, which was very obviously NOT in Minnesota.
Things are coming together for the wedding, too – overall it’s been a good day, except for some of my eating. I need to reign this runaway coach in before I gain back everything. Send the wagon!
Trying to keep caught up, at least for today.
Viv – Hi, I didn’t know you, but glad you’re back! I go to Curves, too… well, I belong to one, but need to get my backside in gear and GO! So I can empathize!
Jack-K – my thoughts and prayers are with your niece. Congrats on getting in your walk and workout even in that heat!
Fruitloupe – Welcome back, and good luck with the splint removal! I had blood work done to check my thyroid. If it’s normal, my Dr. wants me to stop taking my birth control pills – she thinks the hormones might be holding back my weight loss. The ultrasound was on my gallbladder. From the pains I’ve been having, I’m sure they’ll find stones. I need to research alternatives to surgery!
Deb – NUTS! You are NUTS! Wow, I know I’ve said this before, but you ARE an inspiration. Here I can’t get my lazy bottom out (or even IN with my new WATP kit!) and you are jogging away in sweltering heat. NUTS!
Serene – thank you for the quotes! I love the one by Mark Twain!!!
Gracious – ouch! Hope with a little rest your knee gets better. I am dearly looking forward to getting into this house so I can actually HAVE a dishwasher, but as someone who does them by hand, I can sympathize.
Toni – good luck and good for you to tough out going back OP. :)
Hugs,
Jenn

Just keeping up before I leave for the day.
No news from my DS on my niece's court battle. They are probably still there.:( :?:
Viv, Welcome back and since I didn't know you from before, Hi. Glad things are looking up for you with your job. Look forward to getting to know you. I have been on SB since 10-10-01 and have lost 78 pounds so far, with 30 to go. Good luck
Jenn, Congrats on your house, sounds like you have some big plans going on. That is so exciting. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Deb, Liked the MM. Many things can be accomplished if we are just wiling to find the way and do what is needed. Hope you had a nice weekend with Eli. Thanks for the hint on editing the post. My niece's ex became gay about 1 year before she left hi, But of course he won't admit it. A guy lives with him and goes eerywhere with him and they get one room. Very confusing for girls 6 & 7. WTG on the 9.3 miles today. You were doin some walking. You will be ready for that marathon soon.
Fruit, Glad you are back, I have missed you. Hope your nose gets better soon. Hang in there today. It's only one day. You can do it.
Serene, Hope your ex moves out early in the week instead of later. How old is your son? Sometimes "tough love" is the only thing you can do for them" I really liked your quotes. Except when I first read the one about action I thought the word bowlines said brownies. LOL. Do you think I'm obessessed with food or what. Thanks You are doing great with all your problems by not eating. That's one major battle in itself.
Gracious. I hate to hear that about your knee. You were really doing great with your exercising. Maybe a few days rest and meds will heal it. Bummer on the DW. Are your kids old enough to help. If they can walk they are. I wash all my pots and pans every night and only run the thing 1-2 times a week. Mainly I like the fact you can hide the dirty dishes. Please take pics of the wedding ceremony. This I have to see. How do you get the chicken to hold still to get the bow tie on him???
Toni. Take it one day at a time. You did this before and you can do it again. I know what you mean about cheating not being worth it. I drank way to much Sat and the scale was upo today. Now I'm really mad at myself and now I have to re-lose that same 2 pounds. Yuk.. Hang in there.
Heartmom, how disappointing that Boogie has a cold. Prayers that it will be gone by then.
My DD play volleball tonite at 9:00. Atleast it will be cooler.
Have a great evening everyone.

OK--VBS is over! It was a lot of fun, but very exhausting! I wasn't able to keep up with the board at all last week. I was also not able to stay entirely op. Gosh that's all I seem to say lately--but the schedule for last week was brutal and I let myself get into the don't eat breakfast and then make bad decisions about food the rest of the day.
To top it off, Miss Belle is sick and I'm scheduled to go on vacation on Wednesday. I took her to the vet and they think it was just the hairball from h**l, but she hasn't been able to keep anything down for two days. If she isn't better by tomorrow, I'm just going to board her with the vet while I'm out of town and they can watch over her.
Deb--sorry I missed your calls, I was trying to get all my work covered for while I'm away. I'll be home tonight Monday--though a friend is coming by after 8:00 central time. So anytime before 8 and after 9 would be good. I'll be out tomorrow night and then in NC until the 5th.
Jenn-congrats on the house! I hope you get it all worked out. The stress is in all the little details.
VIV--Welcome back! It's great to hear from you that you are doing work that you enjoy. You'll get that extra weight off! Just stick with it!
Heart--I hope Boogie gets to have his cath on Friday. I'll keep good thoughts for you!
Fruit--you better get that schnozze into yelling shape by the end of August! Even if you are rooting for the WRONG TIGERS you still need to be able to cheer your heart out!
OK--got to get back to work. I'm leaving Wed afternoon to fly to NC. I'm taking the laptop so will try to check in while I'm gone. I know one thing's for sure--I'm getting my SB book back!

What a day. NH as usual, then have been doing letters and HFH work. Thunder storms popping up every so often. Some really bd, not a time to be on puter or have TV on.
GRACIOUS: Maybe I didn't make myself clear. That's the way I feel anout the language issue here.
VIV: Of course you are remembered!
JENN: Happy Dancing for you (not a pretty sight!) Good thoughts being sent.
FRUIT: I bet you keep your nose clean and don't poke it where it shouldn't be!!!! Sorry you have had so much trouble, hope it is better soon.
HEART: My goodness, if it's not one thing............... Hope the cold is not serious and will be gone quickly.
Time to think about supper. Maybe I'll check in later, although I doubt it, tonight seems to be mystery night on the boob tube!

SEF- I understood you but I was just clarifying things for a few others and didn't want to sound too nasty but definitely wanted my opinion to peek through! ;) hehe
FILLISE- Sorry to hear about Miss Belle...those hairballs can be nasty. Ask about Hairball Remedy. It comes in a tube like toothpaste and most cats love the taste of it and lick it right up! Check her stools too and make sure she is still pooping...things the vet wants to know but not the others on the board I am sure!
JACK-K- I love that aspect of the dishwasher too..the hiding the dishes part! We got pics of the wedding and it went off well. Hubby held the rooster, Prince Albert, while DD tied on his bow. I held Serena, the hen, while she got her veil and beaded necklace. It was lovely! ;)
JENN- Congrats on the house. I love having my own house and it came after 11 years of marriage. You get one right away!
HEARTMOM- I am praying for him and the rest of you.
FRUIT- I am like that too! I can't handle going to movie theatres too often because I have to keep shifting and trying to stretch out. Patella femoral pain syndrome effects both men and women but women tend to get it more because of their wider hips. It is weakness in the knee and they told me that the cause cannot be determined without invasive procedures. It could be a variety of reasons. Have him go to the doctor, it doesn't hurt to get examined! There are exercises to help the muscles around the knees and strengthen them. Part of it is that the knee cap moves around too much and you can feel that it is not steady/firm. I have had physiotherapy too and they apply heat and ultrasound waves to it to increase blood flow. It worked and lasted for a few years but I obviously aggravated it with the exercises. I know I have limitations with what I can do because of my knees but I guess I was so pumped about my WATP tapes I ignored it. I will also look it up on the net because I was diagnosed with this about 4 years ago and I am probably forgetting some of it. I will let you know what I find!

Hey chicks!
just checking in before I sign off for the night! Hope you all had a good day!!!
DEB: I can't believe that you did over 9 miles today!! Are you completely insane?! You go girl! That means I don't have to exercise for a few days - you did extra for me!!! OK - why are your kids in school already? I'm confused! I know that they are brains and all so they have probably enrolled in some special summer enrichment program huh? Gosh - to have the drive to succeed - must be nice!
SERENE: Hope all goes well with the departure of the ex. I'm sure you are ready for that! How old is your son that you are about to give him the boot! From your pictures, you don't look old enough to have someone to kick out!! Go with ya young looking self girl!!
TONI: I know what you mean about being hungry after the cheating! Today was soo very hard for me! I was hungry all day but I managed to stay on plan. I ate more than I normally would while on the WOE but at least it was legal stuff! Hopefully that craving will subside soon!
HEART: Prayers are going out to your boogie! Hopefully all will be better by the end of the week!
JENN: Glad to hear that your old landlord will cooperate! I was worried there for a second! Isn't it great when you have a good day and things seem to work out? As for the gall stones, my friend just had that surgery in May. it was a breeze for her. They did the laporoscopy and she was back at work within 5 or 6 days. So, it won't be so bad if you have to have it done. I just had that lap. for my endometriosis in February and it really wasn't bad. You are just real sore for a few days.
JACK-K: Thanks for missing me! :D You make me feel so special! Where do you play volleyball? Do you belong to an adult league? I LOVE volleyball - I played all through high school and then coached for 2 years. We don't have any leagues around here though. I wish we would - that's one exercise I wouldn't mind!!
FILLISE: What do you mean I'm rooting for the wrong tigers?!?!HAHA! You are!!!! Hope Miss Belle gets better soon! Enjoy your trip!
SEF: Y'all have been having the same crappy weather as us huh? Last Thursday we had a tornado here. It didn't "touch down" but there was a big picture of it on the front page of our local paper. The wind and lightning was soooo bad - I just knew one was close. It was about 2 miles from my house. Hopefully we can get together before school starts - the way things have been going though - it may not happen! This damn nose!!!
Ok ladies! I made it through my first day back. it was hard because I was very hungry all day. I snacked more than I normally would but they were all legal. So, we shall see how the metal monster feels in the morning.
See y'all later!

Hello All:
Today I was MIA because I had to take DS to airport – he flew to his Grammy and Poppy’s today – and will be back next week….. He is having a nice vacation, including some Broadway shows, Museums, and walks in Central Park……He took his rollerblades with him. While at the airport I got a magazine and it had some good recipes that are SB legal – I will be posting them – sharing – because they sound fantastic!
Deb – That is an incredible walk/run – I am going to have to keep working harder if I want to try to ever keep up with you! I am looking forward to our trip to Miami! Getting closer…..
Viv – Welcome back – I started SB in April – so I am still pretty new!
Jenn – Congratulations and good luck with your house buying!!!
Jack – K – Good thoughts to your niece! Meanwhile, looking forward to seeing you on the chat tomorrow night!!!
Fruit – I hope your nose heals up soon and you are back to normal for once with no more troublesome honker probs anymore!!!
Serene – Sorry to hear that the boy is acting up! But you are doing great staying OP and you are only doing yourself good staying that way – even when times get tough!
Gracious – What a bummer about the knee! Well hopefully keeping those side steps out will help – I really enjoy the tape…. And hope that you can keep doing it as well!
Toni – You can do it – remember it gets so easy once you get over that initial craving stuff!!!!
Fillise – Hoping that it was just a hairball – I know mine have gotten really sick and miserable from those icky things – and after the malt stuff that helps they did just fine….
Sef – great motivationals!!! Meanwhile, we are suffering from the storms too – summer misery!

Hi all!!
I tried the recipe for the sheperd's pie on the board for dinner tonight and it was great. My family loved it, we even had company over and they really enjoyed it!! Thanks Rosalie for posting it.
Viv- Welcome back I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
Jenn- Congratulations on the house. Looks like everything is coming together.
Jack-K- I'm praying that everything works out for your neice. You are really doing well tith your workouts!!!
Deb- You go girl!!! 9.3 miles WOW!!! I'm glad Eli made it back safe.
Fruit- I hope you feel better soon.
Serene- I'm praying for you. When you ex leaves that will be less stress for you. I hope things get better with your DS.
Gracious- I hope your knee gets better soon. Sorry about the dishwasher.
Heartmom- I'm praying for Boogie.
Well I gotta go know I hope everyone had a nice evening!! :)

Just got back from picking up my new car and its great! DD's first words were "cool- can we switch?" I don't think so! It is apparently the car of choice among 20 year olds, so I'm reliving the past I didn't have.
Gracious- I also have patellar-femoral syndrome and find that lateral motion is real bad. I've given up tennis because of itand other injuries, but can run (uphill is better than down) as long as I keep my quads and hamstrings really strong. It's partly what got me into weightlifting so much. Here's a real good site that explains some of the things you can do to improve your knee function and comfort: http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html
click on Doh! and Ouch! then on Patellofemoral Syndrom.
Also its just a great site for anyone interested in weight training.
Fruit: see above. Hope you schnoz is getting better!
Viv- Hiya! Glad to see you back! I was MIA for a while too. eating and exercising, just never had time to post. Glad your job situation has improved. How's life with the boys?
Jenn- Congratulations on the house! House buying andmoving are about the most stressful times I can think of! Course, I've never been divorced or had a seriously sick kid- but house buying's right up there. And after the wedding you'll never have to think of what to do on the weekends anymore- you can WORK ON THE HOUSE!
Jack-k- I hadn't realized til your last post how much you've lost in such a short time! You've really done well on this woe. You'll be at goal in no time!
Deb- Don't overtrain! Rule of thumb is for an endurance run you need to be doing twice that distance on a weekly basis. I think you'll be ready for the full marathon! I'd of slowed down if that cop was good looking.;) Did you say your kids are back in school already? Andrew gets home from camp on Thursday and I'm wondering how we'll get thru another month of summer!
Serene- TOM coming BACK after a few years? That would really annoy me too! Also sounds a little odd. Maybe call the gyno? Mine's just weird now, appearing when I least expect (want) it!
gotta go, I'm falling asleep. Did a really hard weight workout today, couple new personal bests, and am just beat!

Hi everyone
It's been a very hot muggy day here to-day. We had lots of sunshine until it was time to leave work then we had thunder and lightning and the rains came. I was planning on going lawn bowling this evening but the weather put paid to that. Tomorrow is badminton, at least that doesn't depend on what the weather is doing.
Deb - Good MM piece. What distance do you have to do for the WDW Marathon? You must be almost up there. I just can't imagine walking over 9 miles in less than two hours. WTG.
Viv - Welcome back. Glad to hear the job situation has improved.
Jenn - Hope things work out for you this time with the house. Will be sending good thoughts your way.
Jack-K - How could your boss be so mean, not wanting you to read 4 pages of posts.. You sure have lots of energy for so early in the morning, getting in a walk and a workout. Sorry to hear about the problems your niece is having.
Fruitloupe - Good to see you back again. Hope your nose gets better soon. You must be sick and tired of it all.
Serene - WTG on staying op during all the stresses you have in your life. If you are seeing TOM after being absent for three years maybe you should mention it to your docotor when you see him/her although if you have the usual TOM type cramping and bloating it is probably nothing to worry about. The longest I ever went without TOM was eighteen months before it stopped completely. I was irregular for several years before it finally stopped and would go would go 6 months, 12 months, 9months etc.
Gracious - Sorry to hear about your knee problem. I think you are wise to rest it awhile before doing anymore of the WATP. Too bad when you were just getting into a routine with them. Would have loved to seen the wedding ceremony.. What mothers' have to do!
Heartmom - Sorry to hear Boogie is sick again. Hope he is better before Friday so he can get the heart cath. done. I'll be sending good thoughts his way.
Toni48 - Good for you staying op. Give it a few more days and you should get in the groove again and those cravings should disappear.
Fillise - Sorry to hear about Miss Belle. Hope she'll be better soon. Have a good trip.
Mercy - Glad you liked the shepherd's pie.
Sef - Seem to be thunderstorms all over. We had them here too, yesterday and to-day. Last evening lots of people in the city were without power when some hydro poles got hit.
Marie.

I don't know why I'm not receiving my email from the forum. Maybe me posting this will fix it. Not much going on. TOM is here along with a couple of pounds. Yesterday I gave in to temptation and ate a Hershey's bar and a giant bowl of Golden Grahams. I feel so pathetic when I'm being weak. I know alot of it is stress related, but it's not an excuse to eat whatever I like.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would drop by and check in with all of you. I finally have broken my stall by losing a few pounds. It came down to completely eliminating starchy carbs for a couple days. I was eating too many and that helped to put me in a stall for the last 5-6 weeks. I'm so happy to be a loser again! :)
I had a mole removed last week and have anxiously been awaiting the pathology results. Today my doc called to tell me all was fine. *whew* I know it's pointless to worry, but I still sometimes cant help it. I mean, worrying accomplishes nothing other than giving me anxiety and stress!
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone, and although I may not post often, I do read most of the posts. I just pop in from time to time to report and to let you know I'm still around. Take care!

I'M BORED!
This sitting around the house is getting old. There's nothing to do after straightening up. And i still have a month before I have to go back to work. I think I'll go buy some paint tomorrow and paint my dining room.
Viv: Welcome back! Glad your new job is something you like. It sounds exciting, too.
Mel: We had a Civic and I loved it. Lots of get up and go. We're looking for a small second car if DH gets a job. Had to take DS his Firebird for his third year at USNA.
Gracious: You are a sweet mommy to hold a wedding for the chickens! Sorry your knee is hurting. Rest it so you'll feel better.
Sef: Hope you don't have lots of limbs in your yard. We have some big ones just hanging but too high to get down. We'll have to get a pole saw or something.
Daramus: Glad you checked in and glad the stall ended. Let us know what you're up to.
Toni: Keep it up, Lady. You'll be back in the groove in no time.
Missy: Take care of yourself, Girlfriend. Those babies are waiting for you next month!
Rosalie: I love reading your posts and seeing the slight differences in our use of words, like hydro-poles. That's electric poles for us here in the southern regions.
Fillise: I hope Belle is better. And good idea leaving her with the vet if she doesn't get well before your trip. Have fun!
Serene: Sorry you are having female problems. Hope your household stresses ease up for you soon, too.
Tranquil: Enjoy your time and try not to miss your DS too terribly. He'll have a great time. I think it's really special when kids can spend extended time with their grandparents. Those are some of my favorite memories.
Deb: Congrats on your distance. You're going to be so ready for the WDWM in January.
Heartmom: You and Boogie are in my prayers.
Jenn: Congrats on the house. Sending good thoughts your way about your test results.
Jack-K: Hoping your niece's court situation worked out. That's so sad.
I've been able to exercise every day and fell better for doing it. The scales were the same and that's amazing because I've been bouncing up and down for months. I've even been able to stay away from the sf candy and starchy carbs. Here's hoping I'll drop into those 150's soon. I have lost an inch in each of the three areas that I bother to measure. That made me feel good.
Have a great day tomorrow Y'all!

gracious, Ouch about your knee. It sounds very painful. I think you are smart to let it rest and not continuing to exercise it now. At least you don't have to lose the momentum from your good eating like you feel you will on the exercise. My condolences to you on the demise of your dishwasher!
Toni, you can do this WOE again, hang in there! I never cease to be amazed that I don't have cravings like I use to before SB. For myself, when I cheat, it only makes me want more of the bad stuff also. Thanks for the pat on the back about staying OP during all the stress at my house. It's that kind of encouragement that sure helps me keep motivated. Which Dr. Phil book are you reading? He is a favorite of mine.
heartmom, my prayers to Boogie and that the heart cath won't have to be postponed again.
Jenn, that is great news about the landlady being willing to write a letter for you. Sounds like things are starting to fall in to place already.
mercy, I appreciate your prayers for my home situation. I'm sure that your connections to the lord are much better than mine are these days.
mel, congratulations on your new car. It sounds really cool. Thanks for sharing the weight training site. I would love to hear more about your weight training routine. I have a gym membership that I need to start using. I do have an appointment with my GYN, but not until August 16. I've been trying to talk her into doing a hysterectomy for a few years now, but with no luck. I noticed on the bio board that your birthday is 9-8-54. Well, mine is 9-18-55. I think very special people were born in that month, don't you! :)
Jack-K, my son that lives at home, is 17 but thinks he is about 30. Wouldn't it be great if all of life's problems hit us at 17 when we know everything? I was told by his probation officer that he could live away from home at that age, with parents permission. So, my thinking is that putting him out the door is essentially giving my permission. You really gave me a big laugh about the Mark Twain quote! I would definitely recommend that you throw off the Brownies before the bowlines and sail out of the harbor. LOL You are too funny! Any news about the niece's court battle yet?
fruit, Kudos to you for making it through your first day back OP! You can do this! I sure appreciate your comment about looking young. Actually, I also have a 24 y/o son in addition to the one I just wrote about above in my post to Jack-k. I am really just a kid in a woman's body. Tranquil can verify that. Just ask her about my pretend gun fight with the little boy in Walmart Saturday night.
sef, I enjoyed your thoughts for MM. You always find some good stuff. I really got a laugh from the jokes you posted on Friday, especially about the computer being male or female. Are you working on any new craft projects these days?
Tranquil, I'm glad things went well at the airport with DS! He will have a great time with your parents. I can't wait to see the new recipes that you found. Better yet, I can't wait to try them when you cook and I am your dinner guest! :D
Deb, WOW! Your mileage is very impressive. Just don't get any thoughts about getting me out there when we come to visit. YOu can wake me up after you run!
Quilter, are you recovering from your weekend of parties?
Rosalie, I'm going to have to try your Shepherd's pie recipe tomorrow. It sounds delicious from the comments I've read. Thanks for sharing the advice about TOM. I've had lots of cramping for a while now. My Gyn did some tests and some surgical exploring a couple of years ago. She said the pain was due to having huge amounts of scar tissue from 5 surgeries in the same area. I've never had the cramping as bad as it has been lately, or the spotting though. I will definitley be getting it checked out again next month.
jred, since you are bored, just hop on over to Florida and I can find lots for you to help me with! I want to start painting and redecorating my house in the very near future. You will probably be seeing the 150's very soon as it sounds like you are doing so good staying OP! Way to Go!
Take care everyone!

Happy Thursday Everyone,
Thanks for all the well wishes for my niece. Everything went well. She ended up getting more money than she even asked for, he got no more time with the kids and in general the judge made him look like the moron he is. All she got stuck with was a calling schedule. He can call them Tues & Thurs between 6:30 & 7:30. That is a pain, but liveable. He could call anytime he wanted as far as she is concerned, but he lies about it makes big deals about it. Once school starts it won't be bad, plus he never calls anyway.
Well I'm beating myself up today. Got home last nite and DH wanted to walk. So I added another 3 miles for the day. Was so pleased with myself. Then this a.m. I decided to walk tonite and not walk in the morning. I never went back to sleep and was mad at myself for not getting out there. I could have had 5 more again today. Now they are calling for rain and if I don't get to walk, I will really be mad at myself for skipping.
Jenn, Glad your old landlady was nice to you. Good luck on tracking the other one.
Fillise, Sorry to hear Miss Belle is sick. Hope she is better before your vacation so you don't worry about her while you are away. Have a great trip.
Sef, Liked your MM poem. I agree with lots of them.
Gracious, Your knee problem sounds a lot like arthritis. I'm surprised they just don't call it that and go on. Most Drs. don't delve past the obvious.
Fruit, I don't play VB any more, when the RA took hold I gave it up. Now both of my DD play on the same team so we go watch. They both coach at our school/church too. I really enjoyed it but it has become so competitive and I was moving too slow so I gave it up. Congrats on making it thru day 1. Today is another day. You can do it again. Hang in there.
Tranquil, Nice break for you while DS is gone. Probably anicer break for him. Hope you don't get too lonely. You always have Serene. Can't wit to check out the recipes. I need some new ideas.
Mercy, Think I will check out the sheperds pie recipe.
Mel, you are right on strengthening your muscles around your knees. When I started with my trainer, I told her I couldn't do lunges or squats b/c of my Ra in my knees. She told me I needed to strengthen those muscles. She was right. Now I can squat down deep. Amazing. I have only 30-35 more pounds to lose, but it is slowing down and it is frustrating, but I know I am doing this for the rest of my life so what the heck. I just want to have it all off before my DD's wedding in May. My original goal is our cruise in Nov, but I doubt that I can make that. You have a 1 yr anniversary tomorrow. Congrats. I think that is the most important part, keeping it off. You are doing great.
Rosalie, Have fun at your badminton game today. You get in all kinds of fun exercise.
Heartmom, You have a lot of stress right now, so don't beat yourself up to badly about bad eating. Just try to make good choices for you. Sometimes we have to think of ourselves too.
Daramus, WTG on breaking your stall. I knew it would come soon. Glad to hear the mole results were good. I have 2 I need to have removed, but just never do it. Don't be such a stranger.
Jred, I have lots of things for your to do at my house. Come on over. Good idea on staying away from the SF candy. I need to do that too.
Serene, When you visit Deb that will be a great time to get into the walking mode. Plus it will be fun to walk with 2 other people. It might get you in the mood. When you go to Tranquil's house for dinner, I want to go along. Regarding your DS, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.Prayers are with you both.
Have a great day everyone. I'll check back later.

Morning all!
Miss Belle seems to be better today. She finally started eating yesterday and eliminating it the appropriate way so I think she is OK. Her sitter came by last night and knows that if she has any question at all she is just to take her to the vet where they will keep her until I get back. I got her the Malt stuff over the weekend, she's on a hairball control food, but the vet said to give her a dose of the Malt stuff once a week too. He said she might also be stressed because she knows I'm leaving. Oh well.
Yesterday was a good day program wise. So one day at a time. I called Mom and told her to have that book on my bedside table when I get home. She said that she was doing well but when I asked her what they had for dinner she said a steak and a baked potato. Um, mom. . .
Gracious--my sympathies on the knee problems. I have bad knees too. My church is on like five different levels and I was running up and down stair all week last week. By the end of VBS my knees were in major pain. I had surgery on the right knee last year and it felt pretty good until last week.
Serene--I hope things get better for you at home. Sounds like you have some pesky men in your life. The soon to be ex-you can get rid of, but I hope your son comes around soon.
Daramus--congrats on breaking the stall. I'm cutting back on the starchy carbs too. I had bread for breakfast yesterday and that was it for the day. The protein really does satisfy you better than the carbs.
Heartmom--hang in there. You have enough to deal with, don't beat yourself up when you have a lapse. Just do the best you can.
Deb--gonna do 9 miles again today????????
OK back to work, this was a nice break, but gotta earn some dough (WW of course).
Susan
ps--I was all geared up to get back on the scale tomorrow to see what the damage is, but TOM showed up and I always blow up for the first few days. So maybe I'll wait until next week. . .

TUESDAY!
My knee is feeling a little better but still grinding and clicking away, which is normal for me with this PFS thing. The pain is dull and I think less today, especially when on the stairs..so this is good! I got an appt with my doctor but it is not until August 1st. I am eating on plan but I think it is easier to eat on plan when you are exercising. It is all in my head but when I work so hard at my exercises it is almost unthinkable to blow it with illegal foods.
FRUIT- I looked around and found a site that explained the basics of the patellofemoral syndrome. Here it is:
http://riceinfo.rice.edu/~jenky/sports/pfs.html
I will also check out the one that MELIRIS posted.
MELIRIS- Thanks for posting that website, I will check it out after my posting. Lateral motion is really bad, you are right! My physiotherapist said I barely had a certain muscle beside my knee and that was my problem. I have excellent quads he said but the smaller one just beside and up from the knee, is virtually non-existant. I forget what he called it though. You can hear me crunching from far away when I am walking around...can't sneak up on people this way!
ROSALIE- We had previously had a wedding ceremony for our 2 white ducks but about 4 months later they BOTH started to lay eggs. Ophelia and Cornelius became Ophelia and Cornelia...we had to tell our daughter that their marriage was null and void! Hubby being a Pastor makes it even more humourous!
We have great weddings and funerals around here on our *petting farm*.
HEARTMOM- Try to hang in there. I can only imagine the amount of stress you are going through, in fact, I can't imagine it. Just know you are being held up in prayer and that our God is able to do more than we can even think or imagine. Keep looking to Him. {hugs}
DARAMUS-Congrats on breaking your stall! Those starchy carbs are often the culprit if you ask me..which you didn't, but hey! :smug:
JRED- Sorry you are bored. There are always a million things to do but we don't want to do them! That is my experience anyway. I am painting today too..actually varnishing. I am doing the new window casings in the kids rooms. We had new windows put in the entire house and I have filled the nail holes but need to get this varnishing done so I can finally hang up the drapes. What colour are you painting the dining room?
SERENE- I am hoping that you get your situation at home sorted out soon. Try not to let the pressure and stress get to you. You have control over what you eat, even when other things are not.
Okay...going to fold my last load of laundry then get to that varnishing. Have a great day y'all!

Good Morning Everyone!
Well, the metal monster was good this morning I was down a pound from yesterday. That surprises me because I ate so much - even though it was legal - it was just too much! I'm not complaining - I'm gonna take that and run with it! I just hope it can continue in that direction!
GRACIOUS: I'll been after my hubby to go to the doctor for years. He just doesn't want to. My sister is a physical therapist. I'll have to ask her for some exercises for him. Maybe that will help some! We'll see. I did go to WebMD and check it out - I book marked it for him so that he can read it the next time he comes on the puter. I'll check out that link you posted too! Thanks!
TRANQUIL: Would you send me to Grammy & Poppy's too? That sounds like fun! I was telling my sister just the other day that her kids have been to way more places than I've ever been - and they are only 13 & 14!! The kids these days are so lucky! I went fishing when I was a kid! Haha! My dad taught on the college level so he was always teaching during the summer so we never took big extravagant vacations. So, now - I'm trying to go to some fun places. Hope he has a great time! Can't wait to see the new recipes!
MEL: What kind of car did you get that is so hip? I'm sure you told everyone on the board already but I wasn't even lurking these past few weeks so I missed it! I'll go check out that link you posted - thanks!
ROSALIE: I didn't know it got muggy up there in Canada! I thought we were the only ones with killer humidity down here in the south! We've been having cruddy weather too - lots of rain in the afternoon. You know - right when everyone is trying to get home from work.
DARAMUS: Well hellooooo! You big lurker you! I'm so happy that you are out of your slump! You are almost at goal weight - you go with ya fine self!! You need to pop I more often now that you are close to goal and document every pound lost here! You are gonna need us to cheer ya down to the bottom!!!
JRED: You better enjoy this next month off! I've been doing lots of school work lately. I've been putting together some power point things to run in my room. This year I'm getting a tv in my classroom so, I'm trying to get some fun stuff together. I will really enjoy that! I'm sure in Texas y'all have all that awesome stuff already. I know all about those Texas schools. A friend of mine was there for a while and she would always tell us all the awesome stuff they have - like phones in the classroom, computers at the teacher's desks, etc. We don't have any of that ****! We be po! Haha! I did manage to get my classroom painted earlier in the summer. It is soooo cute! I did all LSU colors. And yes - I did all the painting and paid for everything myself - welcome to Louisiana! If you are really bored - I'll send you some work - you can help me out!! HAHA!
SERENE: I'm just so sorry -but there is NO WAY you have a 24 year old! WOW! You look great! I'm only 8 years older than your kids! I thought you were my age! Haha! Well, you keep doin what you are doin - cause it works! I've got quite a visual of that pretend gun fight in Wal-Mart!
JACK-K: Glad to hear that things worked out for your niece. There's nothing wrong with getting more $$ when you didn't expect it! Things will work out - they always do! Way to go on the extra exercise last night. Don't beat yourself up for not going this morning - you did extra yesterday so it makes up for it!
FILLISE: I'm happy to hear Miss Belle is doing better. Do you think she really knows you are going on vacation without her?
Well, I'll check back later today - I get the splint out of my nose today - hopefully! So, keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't hurt too bad!
See ya!

Hello Everyone:
I posted a recipe on the recipe board that I found in Shape magazine – a no-cook one, and will post some more as the day goes on – they were legal and no-cook easy summer time stuff…. Really wanted to share this find….. I will be typing up some more while attorney is at hearing and other one is out of the office – so I am alone upstairs in what I jokingly call “Corporate Headquarters” – I work in a two story office – we consist of 4 separate offices – and I am upstairs with the attorneys, alone….I am the unlucky one ….
It is Mid-Cycle for me, and the bloating thing is causing the scale to bounce severely – I was up 3 pounds this morning – so I might skip WIW tomorrow just so that I am not discouraged – then again with my obsession for weighing – I will probably weigh!
Mercy – I will have to try the Shepherds Pie recipe now when DS gets back. My Dad bought the Sugar Buster book and they are on it now – so that DS will continue to eat well like he does at home…. I thought this was terrific! Poor kid, thinks he will be spoiled with junk food and fun – well he will have fun, but NO JUNK FOOD :D
Mel- CONGRATS on your new car!!!!!!!!
Jred – I am in the mood to paint as well!!!! I want to paint my bathroom downstairs, but I just have not had the time – I just might be inspired by you if you do your dining room to get a move on and do my bathroom while DS is out of town! It was nice this morning not having to rush to get him to camp/school – just me time :)
Serene – This weekend is the garage sale – so I will mix up one of the recipes for us!!! So get busy getting your sale items together – and I will give you the stickers for the prices when you pick up the pup meds I have for you…. I am pretty excited about selling all my junk!!! Tonight after WATP tape with my Gram, I am going to have her help me put stickers on things and prices!
Jack-K – Don’t beat yourself up to hard….I know what you mean about it though – I am upset with myself for not going to the gym last night….today I have a lunch date with a friend and I have not been able to see her in a long time, so I have to miss the gym, but luckily enough will be doing the WATP Tape tonight – but I am pretty sure that I will make up the exercise double time this week for missing these few days at the gym – with DS gone I can go to the gym all the time that I am not at work! Recipes on their way!!!
Fillise – Glad to hear the kitty is doing better!
Gracious – Glad to hear your knee if feeling better!!!
Fruit - I am jealous of my DS too! I love going to Grammy and Poppy's as well!!! Though they don't go all out with me - but they do take me to SoHo for my favorite shopping fun!!! But, seriously, you must get to NYC for a visit and enjoy it to the fullest!!!!! I tend to really miss it a lot.....never in the winter though ;)
Fly Lady would be proud of me! My kitchen is glistening!!! I may not have exercised as I wanted to - but I sure did "Fly" !!!!!!

Aww it feels good to be able to post again. I've been reading but life has just been BUSY. :) Yesterday my hubby brought home a riding lawn mower for this crazy place...I will miss the exercise but it will be great not to take 8 hours to mow anymore. And he actually used it some..so I have a helper..:) In a bit I'm going to work on the yard before it gets much hotter.
Deb I don't know how you do it in this heat. Great on the 9 miles. I pushed a little past 3 last night...I can't make myself go in the mornings now...just too hot and muggy.
JRed I'm with Wyndy ..I have a few walls that could use some paint. We can't have you being bored for a whole month.;) I hope you are feeling some what better today.
Gracious You life is so full and so charming. Your kids are gonna have some great memories. Praying that new continues to heal quickly.
Damarus WTG! Doesn't it feel great to get off the stall. You are so close to goal. Keep up the good work. Glad everything was okay with the mole.
Toni Hang in there....it WILL start to get easier. You will be through the cravings in no time.
HeartMom Praying for Boogie and your family.
Sabrina hang in there. The bloat could be gone in the morning. You know how that water weight can be. I'm the scale queen...LOL I know how much I'm gonna weigh in the morning just by how much water weight I have the night before. So unhealthy but you can't keep me off of em. I thought about hiding them...but figured it would be more trouble just digging them out all the time..so why bother..:)
Fruit ((hugzz)) I hope your nose is healed soon. I know it has to get old having splints and stuff in it. Does it still hurt?
Jack-K I can't believe..well I can..*smile* You are doing so good in your weight loss. Praying the rain holds off until after you get your evening walk.
I have a tip for Tuesday....run out of sour cream..you can take cottage cheese (lowfat is great) and put it in the blender with a tad of water. Blend till smooth. My picky family actually likes htis better than the real thing.
Sweet Treat......one scoop of SF ice cream and a tad of orange juice. Blend till smooth...Dreamcicle shake..yum yum
(((Everybody))) Have a GREAT day.
Love,
Crystle

Good morning everyone.. It rained last night and cooled things down a bit here.. Still OP and glad tomorrow is weigh in. Then I can see where I stand from my vacation!
Fruitloupe-Good luck on staying OP today. We can do this but it sure is a toughie!!!
Tranquil- Thank you for the encourgement.... How old is your son? I would love if one of my grandsons could come out here for a little vacation.
Mercy- OOO I'll have to try the recipe if I can find it. I need something different.
Meliris- Congrads on the new car. Woopie that would be nice...
Rosealie- You always sound so active. I'm going to look for your shepards pie and try it...
heartmom- Hop right back on that wagon. I know theres times when you think you'll never get back in the groove but yes you can. Thoughts are with you..
Daramus-Congrads on breaking that stall finally. I may have to do that eliminating starchy carbs for a bit. So glad the pathology results were fine on the mole. It would worry me to.
j red-You can come help me get my house in line here if you want something different to do!!!! LOL... It would be a good time to paint.. Congrads on the inches coming off along with the pounds!
Serene- I'm reading Life Stragies right now. This is the first one of his books I've ever read and I do really like him. He does have a little section about losing weight in it. I hope I learn well from reading it. I had forgotten that all my cravings were gone until I messed up and got them back.. Good lesson!!
Jack-K- So happy for your niece that all went well. Hope you lose those two lbs. tomorrow and we're the same. Ut oh you're going to go down below me if I don't lose this week..
Fillise-Glad Miss Belle is a little better.. If you go for the scales tomorrow good luck..
Gracious-Ouch on that knee. I feel so bad for you.
CountryMom- I love a good riding lawn mower.. LOL.. Wow your dream sickle shake sounds good. Now if I can find some SF ice cream around here..
Well got to run I'm behind.... Have a great day

HiedieHo all!!
Have been catching up on some letter writing. When I'm done here am going to get ready to visit an incapacitated friend.
She's 92 y/o and a sweetheart. She's just back home after being in rehab for a hairline fracture of her leg. Her DIL cold use a break so I'll visit a while.
GRACIOUS: You have to rest that knee. Know you need rehab exercise for it, but other exercise can put a strain on it.
FRUIT: Pat yourself on the back for staying OP. We all know that sometimes it's not easy to do! Yeah, the weather has been lousy, no tornados though just a few branches here and there. Your nose knows it's more important that us getting together. The most important thing is to do just as you are supposed to so you will soon be back to normal.
TRANQUIL: Grandparents are great! I know how I loved to visit mine. My GD really enjoyed visiting her other grandmother.
HEART: Hope Boogie is feeling better. Our emotions give us hindsight. We don't think when we eat what we shouldn't until after the fact. Don't beat yourself up over something that's done. Just start again OP.
DARAMUS: Congrats on recent loss. Glad you mole report was good.
JRED: There are no big trees in our backyard, but our neighbor has some of those telephone size pine trees. I watch them sway and wonder! In front we have one of those pines but I can't see it from my windows so out of sight out of mind!
SERENE: No new project. Still working on the Habitat one. CAn't stitch as long as I would like beacuse of wrists. Also has been a busy couple of weeks with HFH stuff.
FILLISE: Glad Belle is doing better.
Hope I didn't miss anyone! Have to get ready to go. Take care all.
By the way the board won't let me vote. Keeps telling the action is invaled.

Hi Gang,
Heading hoem to grill some chicken I have had marinating all day. Hope to get my walk in tonite. Will work out as soon as I get home before DH.
Fillise, Glad to hear Miss Belle is doing better. Now you can enjoy your trip and not be worried about her. Congrats on making in thru the day OP. Today is another day. You can do it.
Gracious, What a hoot about the ducks. I have to see pics.
Fruit, Great going on the 1# loss. Keep going in that direction. You can do this. How was the splint removal? Hope not too painful.
Tranquil, that's great about your parents doing SB too. Bet they still have some goodies for him. They wouldn't be granspartents if they didn't. Under which category did you post the recipe? Man do you get alot of emails from the Flylady. I can't keep up.
Country, Wow a new lawn mower. Isn't that like getting a toaster for your birthday? LOL Now it won't take you so long. It is good exercise though. I always help my DH cut our back yard and though it's hot and hard, I just tell myself it's good exercise. That dreamcicle sounds great. Think I'll try it tonight.
Toni, I'm sure the scale will be fine tomorrow. You are back on the wagon and doing great. I probably will stay the same. TOM is very close.
Cheryl, Loved you new icon thingy. Very cute. Never tried the SB mayo or dressing. I use paper plates alot and I have a dishwasher and 2 able daughters, just not willing. LOL
Sef, You are such a sweetheart visting at the NH and other elederly people. Our world needs more people like. It's takes a special person to do all that. My DN works as an aide in a NH. Don't know how she does it.
Have a great evening. Hope to see some of you at chat tonite.

Hi All:
Jack-K - I posted them on the recipe board...under recipes....I did not put them under a category - just under recipes...I found some more that I will post soon.... I hope you find one you want to try!
Sef - Hope you enjoy your visit with your friend. That is very kind of you to give her DIL a break....I too always had good memories of visits with grandparents, and I still have my wonderful visits with my Gram! Thank GOODNESS she is so young!
Cheryl - I have been meaning to tell you that Serene and I both live 5 minutes from Orange Park - if you are ever in the neighborhood, let one of us know!
Toni - DS is 11 years old - he has been flying to Grammy and Poppy's for at least 5 years now. He is a pro - and he loves his vacations to their home, so I would encourage you as well to get those grandbabies over to your place and enjoy them without their parents :D
Country - I know what you mean about those evening weigh ins and seeing the swell - and knowing the next day will not be a good one or will be a good one... Your treat sounds delicious - must try it - I love Creamsicles!!!
Today I had a wonderful lunch - Serene picked me up, and a co-worker friend came along, and we ate at a nice little bistro. All of us had this fabulous salad! It was julienned veggies topped with lime-peanut dressing, I had squid on mine, Serene had grilled chicken....it was fabulous - almost licked the plate clean!

I hope you're all doing well! Just wanted to say hi and ask that you not forget me!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the congrats on the house... things are moving along, Lord willing, so I'm being cautiously hopeful. :)
Got a call from my Dr. - the ultrasound confirmed gallstones, and she wants my gallbladder removed. I want to put it off until after the wedding, but she's advising I have it done sooner.
I have looked into the "flushes" and things. I'm trying to balance the idea of drinking olive oil and grapefruit juice agains the thought of surgery. I guess I don't know enough about the natural remedy to be certain it would work.
Anyway, that's some good news and some bad. Sorry I didn't get to everyone today. :(

Hello!
Now, I know I need to set small goals. I scanned all the postings since my last post and want to say THANK YOU for the nice welcome backs and the "nice to meetcha's"! Great to "see" old friends and meet new ones!
I started SB Feb of '01 and quickly lost about 15 lbs by that May, which was about 4 lbs over goal - so I went from 146 to 131. Pretty much maintained that - I am a WW Lifetime Member since between kids 1 and 2, yet found it much harder to take off the weight after kid 2 (who is 8, lol). I found WW too loose - like you could eat 6 cups of pasta and still be within points. I realized that both pregnancies I had been borderline diabetic, so SB made sense.
Anyway, maintained, pretty much, through last October or so, and then started some hormone stuff (I'm 43 and on BCP and my levels were messed up). Since then I have gained at least 15 lbs despite eating well and starting Curves in April (I had walked before then but knew I needed something more). Now I feel like it's a self-fulfilling prophecy and that no matter what I do, I will continue to gain.
I have spoken several times with my ob-gyn about this, and he is wonderful, and we are trying different things. Right now the choice is: either lose my mind, or lose the weight, LOL!
I know eventually we will find the answer, but I need to gear back up on SB soon. Getting back "on board" will help....but summer is notoriously difficult for me to stay OP due to vaco, special events, etc.
So I'm setting small goals. This board has been incredible, so this is step one.
The other thing is, Deb has repeatedly told me not to feel bad for not responding to everyone personally every time. I just came home to 55 emails, most of them work related, and I have to deal with that. So forgive me for being "rude".
I actually took the day off today and spent it with a friend "treasure hunting" for Ebay items to sell. I love it. Got some super cool stuff - it's going in the garage for now as I am still liquidating this estate and my house is filled with old military helmets, vintage tablecloths, hatboxes and more. This will help for the winter when the choices of treasure hunting options are limited.
Anyway, enough.
AGain, thanks for the nice welcomes, and I will try to respond personally after my next event (Friday) is over - in the meantime, keep saying hi. I love it.

Good Tuesday Afternoon!!!
Finally have a minute, though not much more to hop on and say hello to everyone. I thought I'd be able to get on last night but Michael is working on some heavy-duty project for school and was on the computer all night, so I wasn't able to get "my turn."
Got in my walk this morning, could only muster up a walk, and a pretty darned slow one at that, took me over an hour:eek: I figured it was better than nothing, esp after what I did yesterday. It was before 8am when I went and was already 85 degrees!
I got a few things accomplished this morning, another reason I didn't get on before now. Had to take some crap over to my storage unit. Now I am trying to tackle the fourth bedroom so you can at least walk in here-no joke, you couldn't walk in for the past few days, trip in maybe, but not walk in, hurddle over stuff yes, but not walk in. So, at this moment as I take a break, you still can't walk in, but that will be remidied in a few minutes when I get off the computer.
I'm not sure if I will be able to make chat tonight, depends on how Michael's doing with his project. If he's doing his work but can spare a few minutes I'll be here:)
Okay, I started that early afternoon and now it's after 6pm, was just able to get back on here to finish this off.
QUILTER asked me to post this for her:
Tuesday noon: Just wanted to check in and say "hey." We've been so very
busy. My parents came over yesterday for a quick visit. Spent the night
and left this morning. I haven't had any time to do more than skim the
board, but plan to get to it tomorrow night. I hate these kinds of
weeks. Won't be on the chat tonight. But have fun and don't talk about
me when I'm gone. Ha!
Take care.
Kim
Okay, gotta run, have to finish heating dinner up for the kids-better that than doing the cooking, that, I leave up to the old man!!!;)
Again, I will try to get on here for chat tonight. Tomorrow, I'm hoping to get on before we have to leave. ELI has a picnic tomorrow with work and wants me to go with him, so not sure how long we'll be gone, or even what time we are leaving. Thursday he's invited two of his workers over for dinner, so I'm trying to make the house somewhat presentable so they can come and not kill themselves getting in the front door! So, with all that's going on, if you see my posts far and few, you'll know why. Nothing intentional, just know I'm dilligently working hard in the house! I have to do this anyhow, SERENE, TRANQUIL & BOB are coming next week, have to show them that I'm not a complete slob!;)

Well, I'm not bored tonight- I'm POOPED.
I painted two rooms a honey gold buff color and the trim is ecru, according to the swath. It looks pretty close to white next to that yellow!
I'm going to wait a day or two, then paint the living room. There's a lot more heavy furniture to move and pictures to take off the wall so I'm gonna rest up first.
Have fun at chat. I'm too tired to keep up with it.

HiedieHo all!!
My visit with Louise was very enjoyable. She is so sweet. Also went to Wal*Mart and WD. When I got home i was getting a headache and my stomach was rumbling, realized I hadn't had lunch. We had hamburgers and sliced tomatoes for supper. Used Nature's Own rolls. Sure did taste great, whether because I was hungry or because I'm a good cook, I don't know. Hw can you hurt burgers, must have been the hungry part!
JACKK: I have the greatest respect for aides. They usually are minimum pay for the hardest work. I always tried to do little things that wold help them or at least show appreciation for their work. They are the person that residents see the most and some do a wonderful job of establishing a rapport with their charges. They are also the ones that bear the brunt of complaints, real or imagined! Oh dear! I could get on a soap box here!! I wish all NH were as good as the one I worked in. It takes a special person in my eyes to be an aide, I'm sure your DN is a good one!
TRANQUIL: My DIL's co-worker had her 80+ y/o mother with her for a while after she had undergone heart surgery. The mother has always been a tyrany and apparently age has not softened her. So Kay would come to work and gripe to my DIL, then say "you know how it is, you have your MIL living with you!" DIL would say no my MIL wouldn't do those things. As DIL is telling mwe this she said "I told her there were some things that we had to get used to living with an old person, but nastiness wasn't one of them." I was crushed! Me? An "old person"? Never!! LOL! But I guess in a way I am old to in comparison to my kids! Oh, well! They'll be my age soon enough and then we'll see how "OLD" it is!
FROG: Peaceto you too! We miss your wit!
JENN: Get it out!!
VIV: I enjoyed reading your little history. You are not rude! Jusy keep connected with us as much as you can. You will meet your goals!
DEB: You and my GD! She has been cleaning out her room for the last three or four days. Has so much stuff strewn about she slept on a blow up mattress in the LR and still not done! It looks like a war zone!
JRED: Colors sound nice. You are so ambitious!
Well I will try to get into chat again.

Good Evening!
I had another good day on plan. I didn't snack nearly as much today and I wasn't even really hungry for supper. I just nibbled a bit and didn't really eat a whole meal. Who knows - maybe I just needed that one day to "adjust."
I got the splint taken out of my nose today. I feel SOOOOOO much better! I can breathe so much better since the surgery. Despite the bazillion complications I have had this surgery will definitely be worth it!
I found ants in my cabinets tonight - boy was I upset! You know how hard it is to get rid of those little suckers? So, I had to pull everything out, spray and now I'm washing all the dishes and putting them back. They had eaten into a packet of sweet-n-low. They were having quite a party!
TRANQUIL: I'm gonna go check out that recipe! I need stuff that is easy right now! I don't feel like cooking during the summer but I have to! I would love to make it to NYC one day. It's definitely on my list of places to go! When I do go, I want someone who has been before to show me around because I don't want to waste time seeing things that I don't really need to see! So, maybe you can be my tour guide when I go - how's that sound? As for your salad, I guess I'm not adventurous - but - lime peanut dressing and squid just don't do it for me!! I don't know that I could even watch you eat that! Describe the taste for me….
COUNTRY: I bet you will enjoy that riding mower! That will help you out a lot. You must have felt like you had to start all over once you finished with that push mower! Now you can find time to do some fun exercising! My nose is still a little sore/tender. It doesn't hurt anymore now that the splints are out!! Woohoo!
SEF: My sister and I had talked about going to Covington tomorrow to shop but my hubby put a stop to that right quick! He said that I should take it easy for a couple of days just to be sure that I don't have any nosebleeds - and taking it easy doesn't mean shopping in Covington! Lol So, maybe next Wednesday - we maybe can meet for lunch or something. We'll see as it gets closer.
JACK-K: That chicken sounds yummy. I love chicken- cooked any way! The splint removal wasn't toooo painful. I feel much better now with it out!
JENN: Like I told you before - the surgery isn't bad - just have it like - say - on a Wednesday that way you have the weekend as part of your recuperation time. That way, you won't have to miss many days of work.
VIV: I totally agree with you about this board - it definitely helps you to stay on plan. Just knowing that I have to post my weight here helps me a bunch. Don't worry about not posting to everyone. We all know that not everyone has tons of time at night or whenever. Once school starts I won't have much time either. Just pop in - tell us your scoop and say hello! That's all we ask! I really don't think anyone gets offended if you don't respond to them personally.
DEB: You get that room cleaned girl! The fly ladies in here will be proud! I totally forgot about chat tonight - I'm gonna go see if anyone is still there! Thanks for the reminder!
JRED: Room sounds great - when are you coming over?
GATOR: I'm still planning my trip to Gainesville in October - so we need to get together!
NANCE: Where are you?
Ok - I'm gonna try to make it to chat! See y'all tomorrow

Hi Everyone!
It's been quite awhile since I have posted here. I was unable to stay on program so I just kind of tried to watch and then I decided I would try weight watchers. 3 week of counting every stinking thing that went in my mouth and I lost a whopping 1 pound! yes that was one pound. So Friday night I was watching 20/20 and again saw all the stats of low carb dieting. Saturday I was sick in bed (a bad cold) and re-read my Atkins book - made up my mind and today is day 2 of Atkins! I have done great. Any of you familiar with Atkins know about the strips you pee on- well I'm already in the pink. I am thrilled and finally have my mind in the right place. My plan is to stay on Atkins for a few weeks and then switch to SB, once my body is completely detoxified of all carbs. I do hope I can utilize this board and all of your support event though for now I'm doing Atkins. I am going to check in to joining Curves Gym - anyone a member? Anyway this time I will succeed! I am thinking of starting a low carb support group in my area - I thought I would start with people at work and see if it grows. If Weight Watchers can do it - low carbers should have a rah rah meeting also! My thought was to have everyone bring a recipe and a low carb item. What do you think? Anyway just wanted to tell you all hi! I'm glad to be back on track!!!

Here's my quick WIW report. Down a wee bit this morning. I've decided to post my numbers. I'm pretty much at ease with them now and have to keep focused on them so that I can continue to lose pounds.
The first part of June when I got back onto this WOE I weighed in at 195 (yeeeegads!). This morning the needle was at 191. So I've lost four pounds since starting back. Not actually dropping off in buckets, but at least I'm going in the right direction.
Good luck to the rest of you.

Short term goal is to get the heck into the 180's.

Hello All--
Trying to get some last minute things done before I head to the airport this afternoon. If you haven't tried it--let me say that priceline.com is a great thing. I got online Sunday morning and got a plane ticket from Atlanta to Wilmington NC for $125.00 with the airport taxes and priceline fee the total came to 160.00--but hey the lowest 3 week advance purchace ticket I could find was $224.00! I used priceline last year when I had to go home on short notice for my father's heart cath and angioplasty. It's great if you have to fly on short notice--otherwise the airlines make you pay outrageous prices.
Yesterday was ok--I did fine until they brought out icecream sandwiches at this political meeting I had to attend. It was so hot and they looked so cool. . . So I had one, but what I didn't do was go home and pig out on something sweet because I had already blown it (which is a real danger for me). I wanted to but I didn't. Progress of a sort I guess.
I still feel so bloated from TOM. I hate this feeling! I did get on the scale and it wasn't pretty--let me tell you. I'll start reporting when I get back because there isn't a reliable scale at my parent's house. Anyway they are pretty supportive and I plan to start rereading the SB book tonight--just as soon as I walk through the door!
VIV--I'm 43 too and having hormone problems. I, personally, am living for menopause. I can't imagine beeing free from TOM--it seems like heaven to me!
ALL the chicks with knee problems--is that what all the crunching is about????? My knees crunch all the time (yes even after surgery) buy my DR never gave it that name--he just said my knees are a wreck. My therapist also told me that I don't have that muscle either. He gave me some exercises to strengthen that muscle and If I do them every morning they do help--but. . . you know how it goes.. .
Frog--I'm headed to NC and you are headed my way! I guess we are sort of swapping states. I would love to have been able to visit and to host a show for you this weekend--but I soooooo desperatly need this beach time.
OK--if I'm going to leave for the airport on time I have to get to work.
I'll try to check in in the next day or two.

It is WIW again and I must confess that I have missed my exercises this week because of my knee and the results that it gives me on the scale. As a result, I am down a whopping 0.5 lbs! All things considered that is better than a gain and one must console herself with that fact. I hope others do better than I did!
My knee is feeling even better now and has basically stopped aching except for just a little. Monday I am back to the WATP tapes but modified without the sidesteps.
Last night the hydro went out because of a lightening storm and was out for 3 or 4 hours, I can't recall now. All I know is everything started melting in my freezer. Good thing it was nearly empty! I have a big deep freeze and the fridge freezer but it is end of the month and slim pickings prevented a loss of food. I did however indulge in some of my SF ice cream before it turned into a milkshake. It was tasty and didn't seem to affect my weight this morning.
FILLISE- Another member of the Bad Knee Society! Welcome.
SEF- I know what you mean about the age thing. I just turned 34 but find it rather humourous that when I look at teenagers they really do look like kids to me and when I look at people in their 40's they are looking rather young to me now! It is all relative when it comes to that!
JRED-You got right to the painting just like you said you would, way to go! I am sure it looks wonderful. A paint job can really make a fabulous change. I finished varnishing the window casings upstairs yesterday and today I will work on the ones downstairs. We are having houseguests this weekend and I would love to have all of this done before they arrive!
KIMMYTHEKID- Where are you at girl? Running around to all those amusement parks and activities with the kids I suppose. Missing you. :)
QUILTER-Keep that good attitude about you. I really think that is one of the best things we have going for us when we are trying to lose. Once you get discouraged, it is so much more difficult.
FRUIT-Good to hear you got the splint out of your nose! That is probably such a relief to you now. I imagine that the final healing process will be completed now that the foreign object is out of your schnoz. :o
Oh...just an update on my Uncle. We found out yesterday afternoon that the kind of cancer he has is treatable!! We are so happy to hear this and he will start radiation treatment very soon. We are still praying for his salvation though and that God will use this to draw him and his wife to Christ. Thanks for your prayers.
Okay, I gotta get moving. Have a wonderful WIW!

Hi everyone. I'm not lost just super busy. Dh is at 209 & I'm at 141. not bad for both of us. Thanks for the prayers out there. Dh is keeping up the woe for a while more. His shirts are revealing less & less tummy & he's happy. His shorts are more loose too.
Love to you all. Thanks again. 'fly

This is my 1 year anniversary of being sugar free!
Yea me! I've never stuck with anything so long except for hubby! lol. 6 months at goal, tho I wish it were lower: 175/135/135! A longer post on my 1 year thoughts later.
Gracious: Hope you have your hydro back! I laughed when I saw that. When I first moved to Ontario, an inspector from Ontario Hydro came around the neighborhood. He said "some of your neighbors have reported hydro problems- have you had any problems?" So I ran over to the kitchen sink and turned it on. "NOPE!" said I, "works great!". He gave me a really weird look and left. When dh got home I told him about it and he fell off his chair laughing and explained to the dumb American what Hydro is in Canada. I still feel silly over that one. ( to all you 'mercuns: hydro is electricity!)
OK- gotta go to work!

Well I gained a bit back, but actually since I went way off program on the weekend, that is actually not too bad.I keep up the exercise and it is my only salvation some days.
I have decided to take up quilting. I already knit, needlepoint and cross stitch. I like to do my own designs. Does any one have any tips on getting started. Absolutely must have equipment etc.
Last night I spent an hour doing a Christmas design by myself and I have decided to try another one with Christmas fabric from a book. I love picking out fabric and colour. It also keeps my hands busy and clean as I can't see eating while working with fabric.
I tend to lurk until I get to know people better, but I enjoy all your posts.

Good morning!
Thought I'd check in before heading out the door to meet a friend for coffee. I had planned not to weigh this morning as I'm still bloated and cramping. However, I couldn't stay off of the scale and climbed on anyway. I'm only up 1/2 lb from last week so I'm not going to get upset about it. I know if it weren't for TOM trying to pull his old tricks, then I would weigh a few lbs less. SO, I'm holding at 215.5. My short term goal is to be very close to 200 by Sept. 18.
I'll get back on later to catch up with posts. Good luck to you all with the scales today.
Take Care,
Wendy

Just a quick post this morning, things are crazy at work with me trying to get ready to go on vacation next week. I'm down 2 more pounds, that makes 3 total this week. I'm now at (drum roll please) 230 for a loss of 38 pounds. Actually the needle was at a shaky 229 this morning but I'm counting at 230. I figure I'll need the cushion next week during vacation. DH and I have talked about our plan for eating on vacation. When we possibly can, we're going to stay on plan, but if there's something that we really want, we'll have it. Just get right back on and not totally blow it. We've both worked too hard to get this far.
Jenn - Have the surgery! I had gallbladder attacks years ago before they were able to do the surgery with a laporoscopy. The final straw for me was waking up in the middle of the night with the most unbearable pain I had ever had and ending up in the emergency room. The problem is you can never predict the attacks. Do it now, you'll have plenty of time to recover before the wedding and be feeling great by then. Ok, I'm off my soapbox for now.
Gotta run. I may or may not be able to post again before I leave on Friday. If not, everybody have a great week-end and terrific next week. I'm off to the beach!!!!

Good morning! Today was a great WIW for me. I lost two more pounds putting me at 154...(150 on the old scales..so back to my 85 pound loss so far):)
I walked last night but man it was hard. I've been walking 3 miles forever but it felt like I was brand new at it. Tired..sore feet and legs. I don't know it if was the heat or what. I enjoyed chatting with you ladies last night. As always you are funny, bright and encouraging.
The kids are doing their math and I need to keep them focused today so I will cut this short.
Hope the scale is good to everyone today. I am a little unhappy today. The scale was a shaky 179 trying to go back to 180. I'm sticking with the 179 so I stayed the same. TOM is lurking so I'm blaming it on that, better him than me. LOL. I need a really big drop by next WIW as we are going on a mini vacation next Friday. I will eat 100% OP, but the problem is all drinks are included. Beach, cool drinks. I will need to be careful.
I really enjoyed chat last nite. We were on there almost an hour. It flew by. Everyone is so sweet and funny too. Just like old friends catching up. it is nice to get to know more about people on this board.
Frog, Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you are really busy. Hop eyou can check in more often.
Jenn, IMHO, I think I would go on and get the surgery over before the wedding. You don't want to have a bad attack on your wedding day.
Quiv, Glad you are maintaining. Hope you get to work out on your vacation. That always helps.
Viv, I'm with you on WW. Just too much freedom and too much counting. I don't have time to write everything down everyday and count points. Hope you get your hormones worked out. Atleast you knew where to come back to. Good luck.
Deb, Missed you at chat last nite. Have fun at the picnic with Eli.
Jred, boy did you kick some butt today, 2 rooms painted. My dining room is yellow and white woodwork. I like it.
Sef, Got a laugh out of your GD sleeping on the mattress in the LR. Boy her room must really be a mess.
Fruit, Ant! I hate them, You can't get rid of them. At least they are not fat ants since it was sweet and low. LOL (I know corny). I so enjoyed "chatting" with you last nite. You are so funny. It's like we all are old friends on there. Can't wait until next Tues.
Slaphappy, Glad to hear from you. Check in anytime. I don't think I could do Atkins. Not enough variety. I was just thinking the same thing the other day about starting a SB support group. Don't think I will ever do it but thought about it. Good luck.
Quilter, Congrats on dropping the 4 pounds. You are going in the right direction an I'm sure you will continue to do so. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed our chat last nite. I had really missed it. Seemed like we were allold friends just chatting away. We did pretty good for 7 people at one time in there.
Fillise, Don't worry about eating the icecream sandwich. The best part was you didn't continue on. That is progress. Have a nice visit with your parents. I too am living for TOM to be gone. Don't really have many problems, but it's just a nuisance.
Gracious, .5 is better than 0 or a gain. I'll switch ya. Bummer about the power. At least you didn't lose too much food. Good wy to clean out the freezer though. I guess you could just go on a cooking binge and cook up everything in there. LOL Great news about your uncle. Hope all goes well with him.
VAbutterfly, You are doing great. DH is too. Good results make this easier.
Mel, Happy Anniversay. That is so wonderful. This WOE is easy to stick to for life. Congrats.
Marshmellow, Hang in there girl. You have got to make it thru the weekends. It isn't oo hard. Just plan, plan, plan. You are right about keeping your hands busy, it does help you not eat. Can't help you on the quilting. No talent here.
Serene, TOM is a nasty culprit. Mine is lurking too. Really enjoyed our chat last nite. It was fun. You are Tranquil are so sweet and just a cute "pair" I really enjoy yuor posts.
Trish, WTG on the 3 lbs. 38 total is great. Keep up the good work. Have a nice vacation.
Country, 2 pounds, lady you are on a roll. 85 pounds is super. Really enjoyed chat with you last nice. Everyone is so sweet and funny too. I was glad I got to get back to it.
Hope the rest of you are losers today!!!

Morning All!
Well, I can't seem to keep the weight DOWN! Back up to 169/170 (needle couldn't make up it's mind.) Mind you, clothes a not as tight as a couple of weeks ago.
It's been really hot here. A/C kicked the bucket. Thankfully it cooled down a lot yesterday and the repair guy is due any minute! So hopefully it'll be fixxed before it's supposed to heat up again this weekend.
Got the WATP series. I've done the 1 and 2 miles walks. DS does them with me. I think the 1 mile could be a warmup for me before doing weights. I found it pretty easy. I really want to try the 3 mile--I think that would be a good workout for me.
JENN: Consider the surgery. My mother had an attack 10 days before my wedding. She wanted to put off surgery till after the wedding. Doc advised her not to cause she might have had another attack at any time--Including that special day. She had the surgery (the old fashioned way before lasers) and danced (carefully!!!) at my wedding. You have much more time to recover. Just my 2 cents.
Ok, gotta go get DS a snack and wait for the repair guy.
Bye for now.

HiedieHo all!!
This evening I am going to a choir BBQ, actually it's a farewell to two of our members who are going into the ministry and are going to move to Autin, TX. (They are a married couple and this is a second career for them.) I am going to make some cole slaw with a white vinegar dressing. Some people call it pepper slaw because of the green peppers in it.
Just cannot get into chat, the Board doesn't like me. Reading the help board, there are others with the same problem and even with hints we can't solve it. So you are all stuck with me here!
FRUIT: So glad the splint is out and you're feeling better. Aren't bugs the worse?!? Last week my DIL found some kind of little bug in our spice cabinet. It seemed like millions of them. She said the bread crumbs and chervil were the worst. Large bottle of the chervil that was almost full was virtually empty. What was surprising it wasn't the sweet stuff they went for as much it was the hot and spicy stuff, even things like soy sauce and tobasco! She had the same job you did to get rid of them. You have a wise husband! Let me know about Covington. I'm not too familiar with Covington, was there once. There was a nice little restaurant we went to that had a delicious salad. Will have to ask my DIL if she remembers name, I think it begins with an R, really good clue huh? I loved the quaint little shops!
SLAP: Nice to hear from you even thought you aren't doing SB.
QUILT: WTG!
FILLISE: I will have to check out Priceline for my trip. Cheap tickets wasn't any cheaper than the airlines. About five years ago I had to fly to HI, my DD had had emergency surgery and was in hospital. I called several airlines and told all the same true story. The prices were all about 2000, when I called NorthWest, they said I would be flying medical emergency and gave me half price, plus I flew most of the way first class! (No coach seats available) They were the only airline that OFFERED me the reduced fare. I had never thought to ask. All they wanted for verification was the hospital phone number to verify that my DD would still be in the hospital when I departed!
GRACIOUS: I always say the closer you get to an age, the younger it looks! My MIL in her 80's had to find a new doctor as hers retired in his 80s. No matter who we suggested she didn't want, when we told her that was about all the doctors in Milford, we asked what was wrong with them. She said she wanted a doctor older than she was. It gave us a laugh and we told her there were no doctors older than she was! For some reason she didn't think it was funny! I think I'm beginning to understand. Glad your uncle is going to be able to receive treatment.
MELIRIS: WTG on your first year anniversary!
MARSH: Another stitcher. I loved piecing the quilt, but did not enjoy the quilting, in fact I have one that's over 10 y/o and still not quilted! I love to Xstitch and crochet. They are my personal favorites, but I know how to do a lot of crafts and have taught many people. Even taught some to knit and I do not like that. I wish I could say crafting kept me thin!
Time to have a second cuppa. Also want to make the slaw so it will have time to blend its flavors. Will check in later if I have time. Congrats to all the losers. My scale is kaput!

Good morning!
The scale was nice again today! I was down to 242.5 this morning so I'm on my way! Hope everyone has a successful day today!
Well, I've been cleaning up the ant mess in my cabinets. We sprayed last night so I have to go back and clean everything now - oh the joy! So much for me taking it easy after the splints are out!!!
Chat was fun last night - I really enjoyed talking to those of you that were there!! Can't wait until next Tuesday!!
SLAP: Welcome back - of course we will still talk to you - we are your support group no matter what you are doing! I'm glad to see that you will get back to SB though. I just can't see how eliminating all carbs from your diet is healthy. Do what ya gotta do girl!!!
QUILTER: Way to go on the loss. It doesn't matter that the weight isn't "falling off" as long as it's coming off and not going on!!! Keep up the good work!! Loved chatting last night - can't wait until next week!!
GRACIOUS: Good for you - still losing with no exercise! That's a good thing my friend! The whole freezer thing is a bummer! At least you didn't lose a lot of food. I would die if mine went out - we would lose so much stuff. I remember for hurricane Andrew back in 92 - we didn't have electricity for a week. Fortunately, we had a gas stove and we were able to cook tons of food. We had shrimp every way it could be cooked - like Forrest Gump! Glad to hear that your uncle's cancer is treatable. A good friend of mine that I teach with just found out that her 2 year old little boy has cancer. It is connected to his bladder and colon. He has treatments every Friday and a big treatment every 3rd Friday. So, we are crossing our fingers for them. Her first husband was diagnosed with cancer 3 months after they were married and he died within the 1st year of their marriage. So, she has been through the mill at such a young age! The 2 children that she has now are from her 2nd marriage. One is 6 or so and then the 2 year old. So, we are very worried about her. I hope all goes well with your uncle - I'll definitely say some prayers for him.
MEL: Congrats on the year of being sugar free!! I'm so proud of you! And - to be able to stay at your goal weight - you are an inspiration!
MARSH: Don't fret about the gain. It'll be off before you know it. Good idea - quilting will keep you away from the food! Sorry I can't help with ideas - I have never even attempted it - don't have the time.
SERENE: You know that you have lost if you only weigh a half a pound more during this time of the month. So, that should keep you motivated. I didn't know that people actually "go out" for coffee- I thought people only did that on TV! Haha! You will definitely hit that goal! We are rooting for you!
TRISH: Way to GO!!!! 38 pounds - that's awesome!! You keep up the great work and try not to do too bad on vacation!
COUNTRY: Congrats to you - 85 pounds is fabulous! Why don't you loan me a few of those!! Haha
JACK-K: Don't worry about the scale - it is TOM! No doubt! I really enjoyed chatting with you too! Sorry I'm SO CHATTY - I felt like I was hogging the conversation! Just keep in mind that I've been cooped up entirely too long!! Haha!
TRANQUIL: You are right - next week will be better! I'm telling you it was that squid and lime peanut stuff you ate yesterday! That can't be a good combination - LOL - just kidding my friend! Enjoyed the chat last night!!
ZANNE: Keep your chin up girl - the weight will come off! Be positive and keep coming to the board for support!! We love ya and we are here to cheer you on!
OK - well, I'm trying to get a room booked for the LSU/FLORIDA game in October - so I'm off to surf the net!! See y'all later!!

At least it's Wednesday!
Thanks to you all for the support and encouragement to go ahead with the gallbladder surgery. I have made a consultation appt. with the surgeon for Monday, and Dan is coming too, for moral support.
I didn't weigh myself this morning, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to see the scale. Ugh. I feel fat.
To make things worse, I am supposed to go with a friend to find my wedding dress this Saturday. Nothing like a white dress to show off my weight. Double ugh!
On the good side... things for the house are proceeding along. We are having it inspected tonight, so think happy thoughts they don't find anything major wrong with it!!!
That's about it for now. Thanks again for listening to me vent!

Not a happy WIW for me. I'm up 2 lbs from yesterday:( Of course I know this is because TOM is due anytime so I'll just stay OP and hope for the best. Haven't had much time to stay up on things on the board. We've been doing yard work around here and for MIL. Spent the day there yesterday so we could help her around her house. Managed to stay OP except for the peach pie.:s: She made it with half the sugar and the rest with sweet n low. It was pretty good even if it wasn't legal. I've been busy quilting Dennis's quilt. This is my first attempt at hand quilting and believe me, it won't win a prize. It does keep the hands busy and the mouth closed.
JEANIE: You're bored????? Could I loan a kid or two to you for a few days to keep you entertained?:lol:The paint colors sound pretty. I don't have the urge to do any more painting for a while. Doing the kids' rooms has cured me of that. I'll save the living room for next summer.
FRUIT: Glad the splint is out. Try to keep that nose out of the line of fire so it can heal.:) I hate ants! It's so hard to get rid of them and clean up the mess you make to do get rid of them.
Sorry I can't get to everyone. Kids want lunch for some strange reason.

Still not receiving notification of posts thru my email(have to go to the site and then click on the page I left off on) "Off on"- you can tell I'm from the south! Anyway, I'm still holding at 230- have been for the past 2 weeks. Guess it's better than a gain. Joseph still has his cold. I will have to notify the hospital tomorrow and see if they still want to go ahead or cancel it again.
BOB- I haven't seen John Q, although I'm anxiously waiting on it to be on Movie Gallery's shelf. I'm sure I will have lots of "input" about it when I do see it. I have a feeling it's going to be a little farfetched from what would really happen if a heart transplant kid didn't have insurance...

Happy Wednesday to all... Disappointed I gained 1/2 pound today.. Stomp, scream, yell, fling my arms!!! I'll have to try really really hard in the coming week. So for me today is a new day. Also found out that the orange juice I was drinking is loaded with sugar... Dang why didn't I look and why didn't I wonder since it tasted like heaven. LOL... Help me up onto the wagon seat everyone I've got to get in quick...
Marshmellow- Its great you're doing exercise. How talented you are. Wish I had an interest in sewing. Its nice to see you here on SB I don't think we've met yet. I was on vacation last week. So anyway howdy to you....
Serene- Guess we found that same 1/2 lb. Its good you got on the scale and got it over with.. Now we can have a brand new start...
Trishloo-Happy Dance for you and your 2 lb. loss.. You are doing so good!! A big fat congradulations. Enjoy your vacation next week.
CountryMom- Yippee ki aaa for that two lb. loss. You go girl friend.... You're getting so close to your goal..
Jack-K- Know how you feel about the weight, I'm sure next week will be better for both of us. You're in line for a good big weight loss and bet you get it. Your mini vacation sounds great.
Tranquil-Next week will better for you so don't get upset..... Hang in there...
Zanne-Maybe you're losing inches!!! Oh my gosh no air! Scream! Your walking sounds great.

Hello Everyone:
I have posted more recipes and noticed that Melf has posted a delicious looking eggplant recipe that I HAVE GOT TO TRY!!!!! Thanks Melf!!!!
Fruit – Congrats to doing well with the losing!!!! Yep, it had to be that salad and lime-peanut dressing combo ;) LOL!!!! Will it help if I tell you that the squid is cut up and looks like spaghettios? It does not have a fishy flavor – and it has a rubbery texture…. And I love to tease people who are not into eating it with sticking tentacled legs out of my mouth at them!
Quilter – Good for you! Yeah!!!
Sef – I wish I was closer and could get your computer going on the chat! The pantry pests seem to be everywhere this year – I wonder if our wherehouses for the grocery stores are infested with the weather being the way it is this summer!
Toni – I bet your ½ pound will be gone next week plus some, now that you stopped drinking that OJ….glad you found out!
Music – that was nice of you to help your MIL and someone needs to spank your hand when you get near Peach Pie again – LOL!!!
Chris B – That is TERRIFIC!!!!
BOB – Glad you are having a good vacation away – looking forward to seeing you next weekend!!!! Stay safe! I loved Shallow Hal!!!
Jenn – I don’t have a gallbladder – went to work one day after already putting the surgery off for a few months – and everyone looked at me and said I was GREEN!!! I was pale white/green!!!! I had to ride in my boss’ car and be dropped off at the Emergency Room where they ended up taking my gallbladder…..Best if you just take care of it and have it over with – and with the scope surgery – you will be dancing in no time at all!
Slaphappy – Good to hear from you again –and I hope that things get back on track for you! I think a low carb support meeting in your area would be terrific – how can it not be good! I wish we had something to go to here – and this board is proof of the pudding that support is needed and succesful!
Fillise – Next week will be a new one – TOM will have taken its leave and so will the bloat and you will have detoxed those ice cream sandwiches right out of your system! So Cheer Up – it will get better!!!!!
Gracious – 0.5 pounds down is better than up! That is great for your family and uncle that it is treatable!!!
VaFly – That is great that both you and hubby are still doing great on this woe! Keep up the good work….
Marsh – Jump in, don’t lurk – everyone is so wonderful on this board!
Serene- You will be back to normal soon – and amazed at the weight loss! So keep up the good work!!!!
Country – You GO GIRL!!!! Wow, with your walking now – you are shedding the pounds!
Jack-K – I definitely would stick with that lower number! Just think down from another zero mark! That is great!
Zanne – I have really enjoyed the 2 mile WATP tape – but I do it in the evening when I get home – because in the noontime I do a workout at the gym….so it is great for the inside evening exercise! That is great that your DS is doing it with you – my Gram does it with me and we laugh at each other!
Chatting - I love the chat on Tuesday night! Everyone is so fun and supportive - and it is such a great way to get to know each other better! It would be fun if we could end up with a video chat, hahaha!!! I am sure nobody but me likes that idea LOL!!!!
Take care all, Sabrina

Just a quickie,
Running out the door to get my nails done and then DH is taking us out for dinner. Legal of course.
Tranquil, Look at the positive, you have lost 25 pounds. that is something to be proud of. Next week will be better.Loved chatting with you last nite. It was fun. You and Serene are so cute. I look forward to your posts.
Zanne, sorry about the fluxations. Hope your A/C gets fixed and doesn't cost an arm and leg. Neat that your DS is doing the tpes with you. How fun.
Sef, Can you post the dressing for he slaw? I hate that you didn't get into chat. It was so fun. Deb needs to see what the problem is.
Fruit, You didn't hog the conversation last nite. It was very enjoyable. I loved getting to know you better. See ya next Tues. Congrats on losing this week. It's working!
Jenn, Don't get discouraged whn you go dress shopping. My DD went last weekend, she normally wears a 14-16. She took a 22. My other DD wears a 12, she took a 16. I think it is a racket so they can charge you for alterations. Just wanted to warn you.
Bob, Glad you are having fun on your trip. I loved John Q. But I cried.
Chris, Congrats on your loss. Keep up the good work.
Music, I'm in the same boat with you & TOM.
Heartmom, Hang in there I have moved for 3 weeks either.
Toni, Sorry you gained. Next week we both will have a great big loss.
Got to run, Have a great night everyone!

FRUIT- What a tragedy to find out that ladies' 2 year old has cancer and in such a place as the bladder and colon. Poor wee dear having to go through the treatments and not understanding why he feels so terrible. I will certainly pray for that child.
SEF- We always seem to have age stories! Your MIL wanting a doctor older than her is something I can relate to. When I was pregnant with my third child I got an infected milk gland and my nipple swelled up huge! How embarrassing for me to go to the local walk-in clinic and a kid in a lab coat comes in and asks me to show him my nipple! Bad enough as it is but the guy looked like he was 18. I had to ask how old he was and he told me he was 28 but he looked like he was barely 18. That was the first time I ever had a doctor younger than myself, I was 30 at the time. That was *the moment* I realized that the doctors I see will not necessarily be older than I am. *sigh*
JACK-K- I love getting my nails done! What colour did you get?
MELIRIS- Congrats on the SF Anniversary!
BOB- I loved JOHN Q! It was unlikely but a suspenseful movie to watch. You are on the edge of your seat and crying at different times. Made me so happy to be CANADIAN and have our medicare. We wouldn't get turned away if it was our child.
MUSICTEACH- Hang in there and try not to be discouraged..get determined!
Have to get the kidlettes into bed. I finished varnishing the new window casings today and am off to tackle something else for the evening. See ya tomorrow!

Hi all!!
Just a quick post for WIW I am down only 1 pound.
Congratulations to all the losers this week. For all of us who maintained or didn't lose as much as we wanted to. There's always next week.
I have been so busy lately. I missed chat last night. I bet you guys had a great time. I have been keeping up with the post. I just don't have time to reply individually. Sorry.
I hope everyone has a great evening!!!

Hi Guys!
Happy WIW to you all. Congrats to all the losers and to the people who gained or maintanined your scale must have been broken, it will be fixed by next week
I weighed today and maintained from last week and started TOM this evening - so maybe really down a pound or two. I am really proud of myself - day 3, no carbs other than salad/celery and I have no cravings. My water intake is up.
Looking forward to watching Big Brother tonite. So I'll have to get dh lunch made and son ready for bed. Have a great tomorrow!
It will take me a couple of days to get familiarized with everyone again, so if I miss you, forgive me.
FRUIT- glad you got rid of your ants! I hope your friend's son does well. It makes you wonder how such a little person can get such an awful disease - it doesn't seem fair. Thanks for the welcome!
BOB- hey girl, glad to see you're still here! I need someone to talk about Big Brother with. You are keeping up with it aren't you!
TRANQUILl- your post about the squid was really gross!!!!! I can't even imagin eating anything with testicles, I mean tentacles. What Gym do you go to?
JENN- definately get the gall bladder taken care of now - because if you wait and a stone gets stuck, then they can't do the simple procedure, they'll have to do the old fashioned cut you open procedure, and recovery from that is much longer.
I notice alot of you speak of hormonal problems - I was having alot of problems until I found out about Natural Progesteron Cream. Now I use it every pm (day 10-26) and I'm again like clock work with no bloating or cramping. There's alot of info online about it - and a book by Dr. Lee called what you doctor may not tell you about menapause/premenapause. Check it out, maybe it will help.

Hey everyone!
I had another wonderful day on plan! I'm so proud of myself! :D
We had quite a somber day here for LSU fans. One of our fabulous baseball players was found dead in his home. His mother went to wake him up and he was dead. He was only 21. He was the team "captain" an honors student in pre-med and an all around great kid. Such a horrible loss. They aren't sure what the cause of death was so they are doing an autopsy and toxicology report tomorrow.
JENN: I'm very glad that you decided to go to the doctor - you won't be sorry!! You need to enjoy looking for that wedding dress so take some happy pills and get to it! You will be beautiful!
BOB: I'm glad you are enjoying your chick week. I thought about you the other day. I watched "The Others" what a freaky movie! I really want to see John Q. My friend said that it was fabulous - very much and emotional roller coaster ride! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
CHRIS: Way to go on the loss. I don't have a FIRM tape but I have seen the infomercial on it - let me know what you think.
MUSIC: You keep on plan and those pounds will disappear! How nice of you to help MIL with her yard. You feel like making a road trip?
TONI: How much of that OJ were you drinking a day? If it was just a wee bit in the morning - I'm sure it couldn't have killed ya. Me and BOB will be around soon with the wagon. When you hear the beeping noise that is us backing into the driveway!
TRANQUIL: LMAO!!!! I've got a visual of you at a quaint little bistro with tentacles hanging out of your mouth! HAHAHAHA!!! That is hilarious! See - that rubbery texture thing…I don't know….just thinking about it makes me barfy!! Haha I'm sure it is a wonderful salad! I just prefer to have chicken or shrimp on mine! I'd be into the video chat - that would be pretty funny! I'd fix my hair crazy ways and put on a facial mask! Lol I'm ******ed - I know!
JACK-K: Do you ever get a pedicure? I really want to get one cause my feet are awful! When I walk on rugs or something like that - the dead skin catches things! Isn't that gross?!? I don't normally like people touching my feet - cause I'm not a feet person - but, this is a pedi-emergency!
GRACIOUS: Yeah - it is really sad to have such a young child going through so much. And like she said - he is also going through the terrible twos! So, shes got a wild man with a "bag' on his side and it is horrible! Thanks for the prayers - she needs them! My friend said the same thing about that movie John Q - very emotional - one minute sad - one minute very suspenseful!
MERCY: Congrats on the loss! Just try to pop in and say hello as often as possible. Chat was very fun last night - wish you could have been there!
DEB: Where are ya girl?! Are your kids hogging the computer again!?
SLAP: Way to go on maintaining! Yeah - it is a shame for such a young person to go through such a terrible disease. I'm sure he is very confused. But, hopefully, he responds well to treatment and everything will end up ok.
Well, off to surf the net! See you ladies tomorrow!

Hey GALS...
Thought I would check in...
FRUIT...go ahead and get that pedicure...I was the same way and didn't want anyone doing anything to my feet. In May when my Nephew got married, my SIL took us all including my Brother and Nephew and we got the works...IT'S GREAT...DO IT!!
Glad you're doing better...tell them to be carefule extracting those splints...I've still got these X-SUPER TAMPONS ready to go!
SLAP...I'm watching BIG BROTHER, but have taped it at home and will watch when I get home on Sunday. After that...we can do some discussing!!!
LAURIE..Don't miss this movie..being at the hospital as often as you are, you will relate immediately..GRACIOUS....I really believe the USA will eventually have socialized medicine just like CANADA...it would really be a good thing....would put me out of a job, but it would help a lot...I can see happening just as it did in the movie...
I think I'm going to bed...I've got PEARL HARBOR on and it's just about over..
EVERYONE HAVE A GOOD DAY TOMORROW...oops! I mean today!!!

OH...I ALMOST FORGOT!!!
DEB...I went to EARTH FARE here in Greenville and bought some MARANTHA TAHINI...asked the mgr or the store if I needed to wiz it in the processor and she told me no that this brand was ready to go! NOT!!!!
I made hummus for Scottie and used the liquid part on top which was actually blended like what we buy. Afterward, I looked down in the bottle...consistancy of almond butter...I put it in the food processor but it never did smooth out...I ended up throwing it away...The hummus turned out great by the way...anyone could find this house by just following the big cloud of gas hovering over top!

Well, I didn't like WIW and I'm glad I stayed up long enough for it to be over.
The scale is doing that bouncy "thang" again and I was up 2. It's midcycle and I know it'll go down because I'm staying OP. We'll see tomorrow.
I don't know if hubby is going to let me paint tomorrow! He said NOOOOO when I said I was going to start taking the pictures off the wall tonight. I may get started tomorrow or wait until next week when DS is home to help me with the entertainment center.
Have a good day tomorrow. I even have a recipe to share! Look for it on the recipe board.

Good Morning Girls (and Daramus)!
I just wanted to check in a wish everyone a wonderful Friday Eve. Enjoy your day and be present to how great you feel on this WOE.
I apologize for being absent this week. It's been a wild one. I tried to go back to Monday and catch up, but I just cannot. So I will skim and post tonight. DH is out of town for the rest of the week and my parents are arriving today to keep me and Miss M company. So I will be playing "hostess" but M&D make themselves at home, so it's not too much work.
Take care, friends. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to read all about the losses from yesterday.

Warding off a migraine over here, I think it's all this darn rain we can't get rid of. I've been a busy bee cleaning up the house, trying to get things ready for the kids to go back to school! The oldest goes back a week from today, the youngest starts on the 5th. I'm excited and nervous all in one. Tuesday is Kindergarten orientation where I'll meet the teacher and see the classroom. I'm looking forward to it.
My doctors appt is Monday, hopefully we will figure out what is going on and a good way to stop it without it causing me to have to take things that make me gain weight...because I have this feeling if they put me on something and I start bloating from it, I'll just give up and eat whatever I want because I'll be depressed. I really want that procedure done, maybe I can convince him of that. We shall see.
Well I really need to go get moving on this house, I want it to be spotless before school starts so that it will be easier for everyone to keep clean while we're all busy. The kiddos are wanting breakfast too :) See you guys later!!!

Thursday
QUILTER- You had me so confused! Today is Thursday girl and you are wishing us a wonderful FRIDAY eve! Hope you settle into your company and things go well for you. We just found out last evening that our weekend company isn't coming after all. I was cleaning up a storm but that is okay, I am off to a great start. Cleaning out the kids stash of endless toys is mind boggling. My daughter is the worst, she collects everything.
BOB- Just get ready to pay higher taxes if the usa goes for it. The other thing my hubby pointed out and is true...we would get on the list here but everyone can get on the list so the list is much longer. Even if you have the money, you can't *buy* your way to the top of the list. Sometimes we might want a particular procedure or test done that the doctor doesn't think is necessary and we cannot even choose to pay for it ourselves and have it done. That is a bummer if you ask me. Sometimes it is simply for our own state of mind that you want it done and can't. Let's face it, there are pros and cons to both systems...but push come to shove, I would take our national healthcare anyday!
I can't see anything on the other page with this quickie replay form so I am calling it quits. Have a great day!

I have a ???
Would hone mustard salad dressing be legal if it only has 2 grams of sugar?
Does anyone know of a recipe for honey mustard dressing.
My DD only likes honey mustard or french dressing. I checked the O'Charley's restaurant dressing and it only had 2 grams of sugar.
What do you all think. Thanks

Good Thursday Morning:wave:
This is going to be another quickie-sorry guys, just have too much to do. I know you all understand;)
I'm in the middle of vacuuming the carpet, putting towels away, doing laundry, cleaning my bedroom (somewhat), etc. etc. Eli's worker's are coming this evening for dinner, so trying to get the house somewhat presentable. Yes, it's that bad. The problem is, much of what I do no one will notice. If I just do the bigger, what they will see things, then I'm almost done, but when I get started on something I try my darndest to do everything, which seems never to get accomplished. For me, once my concentration has been broken (telephone, tv, kids at school), it's hard for me to get back into the swing of things (hmmm, sounds like my dieting attempts!).
Anyhow, I didn't go with ELI yesterday to the picnic, didn't sleep well the night before and slept all day yesterday. I welcomed the rain in the morning yesterday, another reason not to walk, besides being tired. Didn't walk today, still tired!
Haven't had time to really read the board but hoping to get back on tomorrow and try to at least read what's been going on-feel so disconnected when I have these unusual weeks of not being able to read/post.
Well, I still have one week before SERENE, TRANQUIL & BOB arrive-will the house be clean-only THEY will be able to tell;)
Hope all is well with you, I better get back to my work. Oh yes, another interruption that gets me off track - THE COMPUTER!!!!;)
Toodles

Good Thursday morning you all... I'm busy getting things ready to take to my booth in town. This is a tourist town and now is a good time to have my booth full of stuff. I'm holding steady OP. Guess it will take another week to get over these darn cravings since I blew it with the orange juice... LOL I don't need to cheat to blow it I can do that just not paying attention.
Bob- You make me want to try hummus. LOL. But have to get me some tahini. Loved the movie Pearl Harbor. I think I did so much because my Father was a survivor and I had great compassion to how scarey it would have been for a young sailor...
jred- I'm sure you'll go down in a day or two and have a nice loss for next week. That is so scarey watching the scale go up and bounce!!! Going to check the recipe board next..
The Quilter- Miss you posting. Have great fun with your parents...
Beth- Hope you get rid of that migraine before it gets ahold of you. Hope your doctor's appt. goes well.
Gracious- Hope you're doing well.
Jack-k- Huh I wonder if thats legal too?
Debilli- Sounds like you're busy as a Cranberry Merchant. I can just see you whiz around. Thats what I have to do next week for my company coming. Take care and don't get overly tired...
Guess I'm caught up for a bit.. Everyone have a great OP day....

Happy Thursday Gang,
I took a sneak peek on the scale today. I can at least say I am happier than I was yesterday. But not reporting, it's not official until WIW.
Gracious, I got a french manicure this time. Just got a new set last time so I like to do a french for a couple times, plus I wanted something that would last through my vacation.
Mercy, I'll trade your 1# loss for my staying the same. I pound is 1 pound, take it and run with it.
Slaphappy, Glad you are not having any cravings. You are doing great. I'm sure that scale will move next week.
Fruit, How horrible about yur baseball plaeyr. Only 21. That is tragic. You are doing great. Keep up the good work. I ususally get 1 pedicure a year, right before vacation. I can relate to the heels catching onthe carpet. I try to use a pumice stone every once in awhile. One time I coated my feet with vaseline and put baggies ont hem and then socks and slept like that. What a sexy thing I am. LOL
Toni, Hope you have a good OP day.
Bob, How can you sit that long and watch all those movies. I would be sleeping in no time. Or feeding my face constantly.
Jred, I'm surprised your Dh won't let you paint. That's less he would have to do. You'll lose that 2 lbs in a day or two. Hang in there.
Quilter, enjoy yur visit with M&D. Check in when you get a chance.
Beth, Wow your kids go back to school early. Hope things go well at the Drs.
Deb, Don't work too hard in the house, people won't even notice. Feel better soon.
Have a great day everyone. I''ll check back later.

MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!!
It's a gloomy rainy day here in the mountains, but I'm still loving it!
No picnic by the lake, but we're still having our picnic, just going over to my Aunts to do it...so we will be having a chicknic ;)
Jackie...we did have numb butts, but we changed ends of the couch regularly, got up and walked around and believe it or not, did not eat all the time...did drink a lot of water though...We purchased thermal 64 oz mugs which we have been keeping full
of H2O...We did herbal laxitives last night, but hers worked and mine didn't! :(
GRACIOUS...Thursday night is Friday Eve...so Kim was on target!
I live in the "high tax area" of the world!! So I would be used to it.
I would welcome it anyway.
TONI...I can't believe that you've been on this board as long as you have and not tried the hummus???? Get you some tahini and get it made...YUM YUM YUM!!!

We had the inspection on the house last night. Long story short, it needs a lot of minor work. We’re okay with that, I think.
BUT it will need a new roof within 3-5 years, a new furnace, and the windows replaced. SO now I have to make the decision whether to have my agent negotiate for money taken off the purchase price, OR to walk away from the deal.
This house is the absolute upper end of our price range, so it’s going to be tough making the payments, let alone saving for these major repairs. I don’t know what to do! We really like the house, and we’re enjoying the thought of painting, etc. to make it “ours”, but there’s that cost factor hanging there…
Got another call from my doctor… (Daramus, this is female stuff – sorry) My pap smear is abnormal, and I have to go in for a colposcopy. Now I understand that it’s not normally a big deal, but on top of the gallbladder surgery, I feel like I’m falling apart. :(
So between the house, my health, and the wedding stress, I’ve just about had it. I haven’t been OP for a week, maybe two. My weight’s up 5 pounds  and I feel like a wreck.
Sorry to come on here and vent, but I truly am at the end of my rope. I feel like one more straw will break me.
Thanks for listening,
Jenn

just checkin in- we are SUPPOSSED to go to Jackson for Boogie's heart cath tomorrow. I've got to call the PC back at 4 this afternoon to see if he still wants to do it with Boogie having a cold. I just want it over with. But I know when the cath is done then I will have the Fontan(open heart surgery) staring at us. Having a bummer day- I ran over and killed a kitten this morning. It was gruesome and the memory is going to haunt me forever. On the other side- I lost a pound, the scale said 229, I stepped on it 4 times to make sure, lol. I really hope I don't gain it back this weekend eating hospital food. I'll try to make the best choices out of what's available. Wish us luck and please say a prayer for my little Boogie that everything will turn out alright tomorrow. For those interested, if you go to babiesonline.com and under babies pages, enter Joseph Garrett, you will be able to see his webpage.

Just seeing what is going on before I go home.
BOB-TMI on the laxatives. At least that will give you some exercise running to the potty.
Jenn, You need a bubble bath. The house thing is something you and Dan will have to discuss and decide. The pap smear. Probably nothing. Come back abnormal all the time. (as do mamograms) Don't sweat it. You can't control those things. You can control your eating. Try to jump on this wagon and hang on tight. If you continue you will gain more weight and then you will have more stress. We are here for you.
Heartmom, Prayers are coming your way for Boogie and his cath. {{{Hugs}}} for you too. Yucky about the cat. I did that once, makes a horrible sound. Don't think I'll every forget it. Good luck with eating at the hospital.
Have a gret evening everyone. See ya tomorrow.
Yeah it will be Friday!!:)

OK, I missed WIW, but I'm still here & still hanging in there. I'm back to my goal weight!!! Yeah!!! Feels good to get back to it.
I posted that Eggplant & Mozzarella Bake that I mentioned last week for those that love eggplant. Kim, even you could make this recipe & it won't be slimmy!
Sorry I have not read the posts for this week. My GS, 14 y.o. was with me for about 3 weeks & he left yesterday. I sure hated to see him go. I sure did enjoy his visit. I tried to take the day off yesterday so that I could be here when DD came to get him, but the hospital called & said they needed me to come in, so I didn't get to visit with DD when she got here. She came, picked him up & all I got was a hello, good bye, & a hug. I guess in a way it was better that it happened that way. I would have cried more if I had been at home. He's growing so fast. Soon it won't even be an option to have him visit during the summer cause he'll be occupied with other things.
Well, enough whining I guess, got to go get some supper going cause DH will be home soon. Bye

HiedieHo All!!
Had a very nice time at the choir party last night and stayed OP. Just had burger sans bun, tomatoe, onion, dill pickle and my cole slaw. Opps, one thin slice of cantaloupe. We had another bad thunderstorm before the party but it cleared up and didn't rain on our parade.
Then when I came home I was undressing and went to put my earrings away. I have the top drawer of the chest that I have several egg halves of egg cartons. I can stack them two high in the drawer and all my earrings (you know how some people are about shoes? That's me and earrings!) are easy to find and always together. Except last night when I pulled too hard and the drawer fell! Needless to say, this morning after the NH, I was trying to match up earrings and other stuff that was in drawer. I would think I had everything off floor, come back later and the sun had shifted and I'd find something else on the floor. Suchnis life!
FRUIT: Where I come from we "do lunch" and go out for coffee! I just asked my DIL, it is Cafe Rani in Covington. Read in the paper today about the LSU player. So sad. The residents at the NH want to follow the astory to find the cause. Sad about the liitle one with cancer too.
JENN: Glad you made your decision. It will be the right one I'm sure. If the seller won't come down in price to make up for repairs, I would walk! One thing I have found about repairs, you start to fix what you know needs fixing and then you find there are other things that need fixing because of the fixing of the original fixing thing!! Got that? All the time your original fixing bill is climbing higher! You're too young to fall apart!!! Just need some fixing!
BOB: When I flew to HI on a medical emergency I was put in first class too. I could handle that all the time. I have not tried the Hummus either.
TRANQUIL: Maybe the stores helpe with the bug situation. I know they come even if you are a clean housekeeper, the are Equal Opportunity Invaders! I love to try new foods, have eaten lambs testicles in Turkey and have had squid. But I can not getr raw oysters past my eyes, they look like snot! There's a visual for you!
JACKK: I will post the slaw as best I can, I am not a follow a recipe cook!
GRACIOUS: Loved your doctor story. Sometimes we have to realize that certain days are gone forever!! SIGH!
HEART: AS always there are prayers for Boogie.
MELF: Glad you checked in. You certainly did not have a long goodbye or hello!
Well I have been here too long, and after crawling around on the floor I am ready to get supper and put my feet up.
Take care all! I'm not even editing!

Hello Everybody!
Gadzooks, I have to go back to Monday (page 1) to get the post caught up. Whew, I just can’t do it. Yes, I’m a wimp. But I’ll try to get to a lot of you.
DEB---I loved that motivation on Monday. I really like using that question: Are you willing or are you not? Really boils it all down to the power resting on my shoulders. Can’t blame anybody else when things go wrong. Hey, hope your dinner party goes well. What are you making??? Ha! I guess I should say what is Eli making???
VIV---Hi, hon!!! It’s so great to see you on the board again. I sure have missed you. You are so smart to attack your gain now before it got totally out of control. When I was gaining I felt so down about it that I just kept living in denial. Then when I finally snapped out of it the damage was so already done. Sickening! So you will be back to your old low weight before you know it. Hope you get your levels evened out. I’m back op in a big way. Through the help of BKM and DEB, I got back on track.
JACK-K---I’ll be sending good thoughts and prayers up for your niece. What a terrible situation to be in. I hope she can remain strong. My SIL always makes great honey ranch dressing with three ingredients: honey, mustard and ranch dressing. I don’t know what measurements she uses. But it’s always really good. You could just use agave instead of the honey and you’d have some great dressing. We use it on chicken and it’s yummy. Great for dipping! I love the Tuesday chats too. Isn’t it great how well we all get along. It is like good old friends just shooting the breeze. Hope our computer keeps cooperating so that you will get to join in on Tuesday nights on a regular basis.
FRUIT---You were really cracking me up at the chat on Tuesday night. You are so funny. Glad to hear your nose is getting better. Hang in there. Thanks for the kind words about my slow losses. You are right about hanging in there.
GRACIOUS---Thursday is “Friday Eve” the day before Friday. Get it??? Sorry I threw you a curve with that. Just trying to find another way to look at stuff.
TONI---Thanks for the kind words. I miss posting, so thanks for assuring me that you do too. The next two weeks are going to be weird. A week from tomorrow I will leave for my college friends reunion. And one of the seven women is coming into my house on Thursday afternoon. She’s from Wisconsin and she and I will drive to WV together. So I’m going to try my darnedest to get all my packing done before she gets here. I want to spend time with her and NOT be rushing around like that headless chicken. After that I will be back on in a much more regular fashion. I know I’m missing a lot of good stuff written by you all and it’s killing me to miss it. All those golden gems spoken by some of my favorite people and they are slipping right by me.
HEARTMOME---If anybody deserves to lose a pound today, it’s you!!! How lousy for you. Still keeping Boogie in my prayers. I don’t know how you keep on going. He must be such a joy and that keeps you going.
MELF---I KNEW you could do it. Congrats for being back at your goal. It must be a sweet place to be. Thanks for the recipe. I’m going to have to try it. I just won’t tell DH what it is or else he’ll go running for the hills.
JRED---Sounds like you’ve got the “nervous needle” on your scale. I hate when it gets jumpy. Hang in there it will settle down again to your liking. Concerning the painting . . . have fun!!! I love to paint because it’s pretty much instant gratification. Try buying those those little slider things that you see advertised on tv to put underneath the heavy furniture. We used them when we had to move a big cabinet in the kitchen. We didn’t buy the ones on tv, but found a set of four at Loews. They worked great. We had this huge old double stove and it was so easy to slide it, even on carpet when we were trying to move it out the door. Good luck! Hope you like your new color!
SEF---I’d love to read that vinegar coleslaw recipe you make. I love cabbage but usually just put mayo as the dressing. I’d like to find something other than mayo to put on it. I’m really mad that you can’t get onto the board’s chat. I had trouble getting in there until Deb sent me a link and I made it one of my Explorer favorites. Now I can get into the chat. Give it a try! I’ve missed something. Where are you going on your trip? Soon? Also what Covington were you talking to Fruit about? Was it Covington, Kentucky???? If so, that’s super close to me.
BOB---Glad to hear that chick week is going well. Sounds like you all are having fun (except the part about the laxatives!). I’m so glad to hear that you liked the Royal Tennenbaums. I was really looking forward to seeing it and so many people said it was awful. I’d given up on it, but since you (the great movie critic of all time!) gave it the thumbs up, I’m going to go rent it. It’s got so many great stars in it, I can’t imagine it being bad.
MUSIC---You are wise not to let one bad WIW make you upset. Some weeks other things are going on with our bodies and the needle will show no decline. But it doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped losing weight. Keep up your good work. I love hearing you say that you’re just going to keep OP and see what happens next week.
TRANQ---Thanks for the new recipes. I really appreciate you all who are so faithful at typing in new recipes. Someday I’ll get my act together and try to share something.
SERENE----Sorry to hear about your gain. Don’t get upset about it. It’s probably just your TOM rearing its ugly head. Sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well. That bloating and cramping is the pits. Hope by the time you read this, all that is behind you. (No pun intended!) How are the troups. Maddie is in a snit because Paul is out of town for a few days. She doesn’t like it when her whole family is not together. Did the move happen today????
TRISH---Congrats on the three pounds and an EVEN BIGGER CONGRATULATIONS for that wonderful total of 38 pounds. Wow!!! That is so wonderful for you!!! I am up and doing the happy dance for you. Keep it up, girlfriend. You are doing so well!!! Remember to keep focused next week. When temptation comes your way, just immediately say, “No thanks, I don’t eat that.” Sounds like a fairly simple sentence, but I have used it a lot over the past month and it really works for me. You will do great next week. Because you know that NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS LOSING 38 POUNDS FEELS. Have fun on vacation. Where are you going????
CM4H---You are doing so great!!!! I’ll bet you are already looking like a totally different person. What a wonderful number is 85 pounds gone!!! I love hearing about your success. It makes me want to stay on-track and on program. Thanks for being such a great example for many of us. Keep it up, girlfriend!!!
Had a sad day at work today. One of the company’s on our floor is moving out. They’ve been whittling down their staff for the past 18 months and now they have to liquidate. I’m telling you we are in a tough time right now. I hate to hear about all these companies going under and leaving the employees with nothing. It’s very unsettling!
On to a lighter note, my eating has been very good. I didn’t get a chance to tell you all that I withstood all those goodies at Tutor Training on Saturday. I even had some hershey chocolates that I pass out after lunch and I didn’t take any. I’ve also withstood some candy brought into the office. Today I walked in and there was a big bag of pretzel rods. Looked at them and thought, “Geez, I used to love those.” Then went about my day and didn’t give them one more thought. It feels so great to get some sort of victory over these foods that used to be so easy for me to go overboard with. Do you all think that each time we are victorious over a temptation it makes future tempations easier to battle? I’ve been thinking about that concept for the past few days.
Well, that’s it for me. My parents came over this afternoon and are going to stay with me all weekend. They like coming and keeping me company while dh is gone. We like to play games and read and just talk and visit. They are always a big help while they are here too. So happy that they are still able to drive and keep doing the basics. If dh were here we would be playing euchre right now.
Good night everybody. Take care.

Hi! Hope the week is going good for everyone. As for me, it isn't turning out to be what I had hoped for, but I am hanging in here!
The ex-2-b's plan to move out today has been delayed and not sure when it will happen now. The place he was going to rent was not ready as promised, so he has applied somewhere else. Will know in 3-5 days.
Well, I had my first car accident last night......a collision with a sporty little BMW convertible at a busy intersection. I was wearing my seat belt so was just shook up and aching from the collision impact. The front of the BMW was totaled and had to be towed away, but I was able to drive my blazer home. It is not especially a pretty sight, but drivable. I was hit on the driver's side so the front side is damaged and can't open the door. I have to do the Batman thing and slide in through the passenger side. That is not a pretty sight either, especially with there being a console in the middle. I am taking it for an estimate in the morning and will have to pay a 500 dollar deductible. Ouch to the pocket book. My greyhound, Jennifer, was with me and I was so worried that she was hurt. Luckily, she was in the back-seat and the back of my seat kept her from being thrown to the front. She was just shook up, but OK. I had to call the ex-2-b to come to my assistance, but he was at least very nice and helpful about it. I am just thankful that it was not more serious, however, I am now convinced more than ever that I will keep driving a SUV since it took the hit so well! Needless to say, Tranquil will be driving to Miami for our visit with Deb.
I had a doctors appointment today and here are my results:
Cholesterol has dropped from 257 to 184, so doc was very pleased. My good cholesterol isn't high enough, only 31 and should be above 40. Doc's prescription for that is a dirty 8 letter word.......... !!!!!!!! EXERCISE !!!!!!!!! My blood pressure is way up, 189/91, so have to go back on meds. Will be having an ultrasound scheduled to find pain of unknown source, possible gallbladder. Will also have nerve conduction study for carpal tunnel. My hands stay numb quite a bit. Am set to see my GYN on Aug. 16th with referral about the TOM problems. She also said that I should stop meds for hormone replacement that I've been taking for 6 yrs. Seems like the new information about the cancer risks of it are very real. Will have to try some of the natural things for hot flashes, etc........Best of all, Doc was very pleased with weight loss and told me I looked great before even reading how much I'd lost on my chart! Sure gives me more motivation to keep on. I hope I don't sound like I'm whining about having a few problems, because I'm really not! Just letting you know what is going on as I covet the prayers and good thoughts that go around on this board.
Jenn, I'm with you on the feel like I'm falling apart statement. Hang in there and things will get better for us both! Try to stay OP and that will help you to help to you feel in control of at least one aspect of your life. Will keep you in my prayers and thoughts too.
Heartmom, my continued thoughts and prayers for Boogie. My problems are tiny compared to what your family is dealing with.
BOB, sounds like you are having a good time this week. Will you be bringing any good movies for us to watch at Deb's next week? On second thought, we might not be able to squeeze one in with all the visiting we will be doing.
Deb, don't even worry about how clean your house is, please! We are coming to see you and won't even notice. My bedroom is such a mess right now that Tranquil keeps threatening to clean it if I don't. I think I've been leaving it that way because I know it irritates the ex-2-b to see a messy room.
Quilter, I've been missing you on the board this week. It just isn't the same when you aren't around!
sef, I've never thought of coleslaw with green peppers in it. Sounds delicious though. What else do you include in the recipe? You are a good planner to always make something legal for you to eat at all your functions.
fruit, hope you are doing well with the nose. It was a blast talking to you on chat Tues. night. You are quite a fun character! And yes, some people do actually go out for coffee and not just in the movies. There are too many good coffee places here not too! I have an older friend that is retired, so we meet for coffee a few times a month. One day, when I have to get a real job, I won't have so much leisure time. I need to enjoy it while I can.
gracious, keeping you Uncle in my thoughts and prayers.
Slap, welcome back to the board. I love the idea of a low-carb support group.
Fillise, hope you are enjoying your vacation at the beach. I love going to any place in NC. I lived close to Raleigh for 2 years and really enjoyed it.
mel, congrats on your 1 yr SB anniversary! I think that is quite an accomplishment! Thanks for giving the info about what hydro is. I was thinking H2O myself.
marsh, just keep on lurking until you feel comfortable. I was the same way at first and now I'm sure they wish I was still just lurking at times.
Jack-K. it was sure nice to chat with you for the first time this week. Glad you could finally make it. Where are you going on the mini vacation next week? We have a lot in common. I can pass up the food much easier than the good drinks also! I am better off just not getting started in the first place!
CM4H, you are just totally impressive and inspiring with your 85 lb loss!
Tranquil, hope your "bleeding" eyes are feeling better with the drops from the doctor. Guess I'm going to have to listen to you about me needing to exercise since the doc says I have to!
Well, I'm out of time and this is way too long. Didn't mean to write ya'll a book but wanted try to get caught up.
Take Care,
Wendy

Good Evening everyone!
Just a quickie! I've been out and about today! i spent the entire day out of this house! Oh what a feeling after being cooped up for so long! So, I'm really pooped! Actually I got up at 3 am to pee this morning and couldn't go back to sleep - what is that!? Well, I promise to do a long post in the morning when I'm not so pooped!
SEF: THAT'S IT! Isn't it funny that we had the same place in mind?!? WOW!
Ok everyone! See y'all tomorrow with a long post!!

Hi all,
It's been such a busy week and here it is Thurs. night and I'm just getting around to posting.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions on breakfast and the information about how many carbs you eat daily. It helped me a lot. I tried harder to get in line with your suggestions and actually dropped 1.5 pounds. That after a long time just staying on a plateau.
Serene--I know how rotten it is to have a car wreck. I'm with you on an SUV. My DH has one and we love it. We feel much safer in it. But--I have a little sporty convertible, so I try to drive conservatively. Imagine! Conservative driving in a sport convertible. Hmmmm.
The only post I read was Serene's, so I'm just guessing about the posts from that. Welcome back, Marsh. when you have successes, or when you have frustrating days, or when you just need a friend to talk to that is on the journey with you, we're here! :)
So--when are the three of you--BOB and the 2 Jax gals gonna meet in Miami? It oughta be fun.
I've been walking 3 and 4 miles as many days as I can. It takes me about an hour and it still is not my favorite thing to do. But I've been getting out there 3 or 4 days a week. I was gonna walk tonight but we got a torrential rain storm. We close tomorrow morning on a house that we and our daughter are buying. Have to be downtown at 8:30 am. so won't get to walk until tomorrow night, I guess. It's getting too hot to walk during the middle of the day. Either before 9 or after 7:30 is the best I can handle.
I've been sticking to meat and veggies except for one or 2 servings a day of a starchy carb. I might have 1/2 cup dry oatmeal for breakfast, along with some fruit, and then for snack one slice of SGWW bread with some PNut butter. Or egg for breakfast, or SB pancakes with only 3 tablespoons of oats.
Congratulations on the lowered cholesterol Serene. What do you think brought it down so significantly? I would think the exercise would help the HBP. I'm in the high normal range and I think at my last check up my chol. was about the same as your high number. I've also been taking flaxseed oil and omega fatty acids. That is also reputed to help.
I've got 4 more lessons in the book on my French. That will take about 2 or 3 months. And then, I guess I'm on my own. Parlez-vous français, anyone?

Hi Everyone!
Just a quick post. I'm still on track. I can't believe I have no cravings this time. It's great! Hope I can stay strong over the weekend! Going to dinner tomorrow nite for aunts birthday, that should be easy - it's a steak/seafood restaurant. Well take care everyone! I'll check in tomorrow or Sat.

Good Morning everyone!
As promised, here is my long post! J This post will more than likely be my last for the weekend. We are off to visit my grandmother and sister and won't be home until Sunday. So, have a great weekend!
TONI: You will have a great week next WIW! I'm sure of it! You just keep on truckin!
BOB: NO TAMPONS NEEDED HERE! The splints were removed and there has been no bleeding - as you would say - THANK GAWD! Have a safe trip home this weekend.
JRED: Why wouldn't he let you paint? Does he want to do it himself - if he is like the majority of the men - they don't want to do that kind of stuff anyway!! My husband would help me take the pictures off the wall just so he wouldn't have to do the work! He hates to paint!
QUILTER: Enjoy your visit with your mom and dad. I am very fortunate - mind just live 3 streets away so I get to see them as often as I want.
BETH: WOW - the kids start early over there huh? We don't start to the middle of August. So, I've still got plenty of time to get my act together. I've been doing a lot of school work this last week but I still have tons to do. I want to spend a day getting my house really clean too! It's getting pretty gross! Good luck at the doctor!
DEB: You get that house clean girl! We understand - we just miss you!
JACK-K: I'm glad the scale is looking better for you! You will be successful next week! I do have a pumice stone that I use periodically and I also have one of those scrapers - but that just doesn't seem to work well enough. I get them kinda done and in no time they are back to where they were! It's horrid!
JENN: Just keep in mind that ANY older house you are going to buy you will need to make some renovations - unless it is a relatively new used house! It will all work out - you will see! If there is a will - there's a way! Sorry about the abnormal pap! You are starting to sound like me with the medical problems girl!!
HEARTMOM: Best of luck today with Boogie. I once hit a dog and it was horrible so I can relate to your feelings right now! I cried so much on the way home that day. All I saw was this little white puff go flying by my car - I was going pretty fast and it just ran right out in front of me. Way to go on the pound - doesn't it make you feel good?
MELF: Great to see ya gal! We will probably be meeting for lunch next Wednesday in Covington with SEF - do you wanna make the journey to join us? My sister and I are going t Covington to do a little shopping so we are planning to meet up with SEF. I talked to my sister about it last night and she said that she thought it would be fun! So, if you can - try to make it!
SEF: I talked to my sister last night and she said that she would love to meet you! I told her all about the board and how we are always talking and it's time to meet! So, if you can please plan to meet us! I would love to see you. I'll bring my camera so that we can take pictures. I just think it is too funny that we are going to the same place that you mentioned! Sorry about the earring situation - what a pain huh? Yes - very sad about the LSU player. I just feel like I know him personally because we have been watching him play baseball every weekend during baseball season for 3 years. He was supposedly a wonderful person. Many LSU fans are shocked and saddened. Hopefully they will release the autopsy report today. I am very curious as to what happened to such a young healthy person.
SERENE: OHHHH NOOOO! A car accident? That sucks! Who was at fault? I've been in 2 accidents - one where I was a passenger in my friend's car - she was at fault. And - one - I was driving and I pulled out in front of someone. It's such a horrible feeling knowing that I caused an accident! I have an Explorer - I know that I couldn't crawl over the console with this big ole butt! That would be a sight! Hope everything turns out ok! Way to go on the cholesterol! What a difference! How dare he say that exercise word! The nerve! HAHA! What is it that you do now that you consider it not to be a real job?
GATOR: Sounds like you have been doing good on plan and exercising - you must feel great! I made my reservations for the game in Gainesville. Now - I've just got to get my tickets - they told me to call our ticket office at the beginning of August to order them. I had not sent in my order form that I got with the season tickets in time. So, now I have to wait! I should be able to get some with no problems. We plan on leaving here on the Thursday night, driving half way and then drive the other half on the Friday. So, we will definitely need to hook up with each other while I'm there. We will have to exchange numbers when it gets closer!
SLAP: I'm glad you are continuing to do well! Doesn't it feel great?!
Well, I'll see y'all on Sunday - have a great weekend!

Good Morning Everybody!
Hope you all are well this morning!
HEARTMOM---I am echoing GRACIOUS' thoughts. My thoughts are with you all today. Keep us posted when you can.
FRUIT---Have fun on your visit this weekend! Do you think you will be tempted to eat illegal food. If your grandma is anything like mine was, she's a good cook and always had plenty of comfort food. She may want to feed you to make your nose heal faster. ha! Beware of those kind-hearted souls who heal with starchy carbs! So happy and relieved to hear that your nose hasn't bled this week. What a relief for you. You are finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and in that light you have nothing up your nose. Keep smiling. That's how you get through these things, right?
BOB---I'll be thinking about you as your week of fun comes to and end. My fingers are crossed that you get a flight and that soon you will be home getting the cold shoulder from Skeeter. He's probably been working all week on ways to make you feel guilty. Fur children (I'm quoting SERENE on that one!) must have a PhD in guilt giving.
SERENE---Hope your entrance to the weekend is good. Take care. Thanks for the email. Did you get mine this morning? I forgot to say in my email that I am so very thankful that Jennifer was not hurt during the collision. That's such a blessing. Everytime I put Maddie in the car, I say a quick prayer for safety.
HAPPY---Way to go on the detox! Isn't it great when the cravings leave? I love that feeling. Keep up the good work. You'll be ready for WIW before you know it.
Well, girls, we have to run some errands today. Everybody is getting cleaned up. Guess what! I had bought a pair of shorts earlier in the summer but hadn't worn them because I thought they were a little too tight and short. Well I put them on this morning and they are really lose and seem a little longer. How great is that? It's just enough of a reward that I am feeling great today! Wearing them on our errands and actually feeling a little good about how I look. Wow, what a new concept. Ha!

TGIF Everyone!
Yesterday morning I woke up with pink and red junk in my lashes – and then when I put a tissue to them there was blood. I ran to the doctor and they went nuts over the fact that mty eyes were bleeding, but in the end, after seeing two of the doctors in the practice, they said that the tissues in my eyes are so swollen and irritated from allergies that the blood vessels are bursting…so I am using special eye drops – already my eyes have gone from blood red to a pale pink – so it is getting better…..But, my blood pressure was down from 120/80 to 117/70, and according to their scale (which I had not seen this doctor at my all time high) I have lost 25 pounds and I got a lot of raves about it!
I got my hair cut off yesterday – I now am sporting a short and cute bob. It made this hair look so much healthier – plus I have the face of a 5 year old now! Hahahaha The word that has been used around the office is ADORABLE! So I am not kidding – I look like a little girl! Maybe I should get one of those big lollipops!
I am going to try and catch up on posts - will catch up with those I miss this time on the next post!
Fruit – I can just picture the mask and silly antics you would play out if we had video chat! Hahaha – it would be so worth it!
Toni – I just noticed your weight under your name – and you know you are really doing great!!!!!!
Jred – I am right there with you on the bouncing scale – for MidMonth!!!
Quilter – I hope you had a great visit with your parents!! Poor Miss Maddie missing her daddy!!! I hope I posted a recipe that you might like. I am for some reason stuck on salad, salad and more salad and need to eat something with variety other than salad! Soon my skin is going to be very colorful with all the salad!
Deb – Wow – a week and we will be there! We are leaving Thursday evening when I get off work – so excited!!!!
Jack-K – that is so wonderful – the weight must be just melting off of you!!!!! I cannot wait to see your WIW post next week.
Melf – AWWWWW, it must be hard to have him go home, but it must be so wonderful to have spent that quality time with him, and the memories he will have to share with his children!!!!!
Sef – OH NO, what a mess with the jewelry! But you need a pat on the back for doing so well at the party!!!!!
Serene – I am glad that his car was totalled and not yours! What nerve hitting you!!! About your cholesterol – HAPPY DANCE – CABBAGE PATCH!!!! Wahoooooo…..
Slaphappy – Hope you had a good dinner!
Heartmom - Well wishes from me!!!!
Jenn - {{Hugs}}
Well, I am very busy here at the office, and I got the okay to work overtime – this is exciting because I need extra money to save for my trip to London on October 1st – and I am going to use savings to go to Miami next week and shop a little!
Hope you are all having a wonderful day – and being good – I am!!!! I am doing as well as I can – I have had a pretty rough week and it has kept me from the gym a lot – but that will be different next week – as I will be back every day to the gym…..

Good Morning All
I missed WIW as I didn't get a chance to weigh first thing in the morning and later in the day I know I would have weighed more. Anyway I weighed yesterday and to-day and there is no change to report. Just hovering as usual. I've been very good with my eating the last couple of weeks, keeping the starchy carbs way down, usually just one or two a day. I certainly feel better when I keep them down - when I eat too many of them I feel my tummy getting bloated even if the weight doesn't go up.
Mel - I had a good laugh at your hydro story. When I first came to this country I thought the same as you. Now I am used to it. There are so many words/expressions that mean different things in different countries, even though they are speaking the same language. When I first came from England I was made aware of several expressions that shouldn't be used in Canada - like "rubber" for eraser, and "knock me up in the morning" meaning to wake me up in the morning, and the way North Americans say "fanny" meaning the rear end but in England it referred to the front end.
HeartMom - How are things with Boogie to-day? Hope he was able to get the heart cath. done.
I've had a busy week and not able to catch up on the posts. Will be off to badminton at noon and then to work afterwards. Also will be working the weekend. I will be semi-retiring next week so maybe then I will have more time to post and keep up with you all. I'll be taking a couple of weeks off before going back to do a few shifts when they need me and when I feel like it. But the first thing I will have to do is catch up on some household chores. Some have been neglected lately as I know I am going to have that time off so I keep putting things off. But soon they will have to be done. The first thing will be to clean out a load of junk that has been collected over the years.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Marie.

First: I must apologize for not putting that recipe up. I'll do it now, even though it's not Thursday.
Second: I did paint the living room yesterday. Started taking things off the walls and shelves before DH got up so it was too late to stop. It took the whole day! We moved the big entertainment center into our bedroom (good thing it's a big room!) And used cardboard from signs we made for a garage sale. Thanks, tho for the tip, Kim. We have chair rail molding so I had to paint along that and not get the honey buff on it, then wait for it to dry and tape so we could paint the trim and baseboards that ecru color. And we have 2 long shelves and 2 short shelves on one wall that had to be painted because they didn't look right without being ecru. Today I have to hang pictures and try and decide what's going in the trash and where I'm going to put the stuff from the entertainment center. DH went and bought a short TV table so the room looks bigger now. I like it.
Third: My laptop died last night. I called Dell tech support and followed all her directions and now we get to replace the motherboard on Monday. Luckily it was still under warranty so a tech is coming to our house to fix it. Neat, huh? So Im on DH's big desktop upstairs and I can't get to any of my work I'd saved until Monday. Bummer.
Gotta get back to my interior decorating. AC isn't working so the repairman is coming. It's another triple digit day here in NTX so we need our cool air!
Tak care,
Jeanie

HiedieHo All!!
Today I have to make like Flylady! Have stripped the bed and sheets are in the washer, having a cuppa now and then on to more ambitious cleaning!
QUILT: Sorry dear, that's Covington, LA. I will try to post the slaw today. Like I said yesterday I am not always a "follow the recipe, measure exactly" cook! About battling temptations, I can't say it gets any easier. When I'm able to pass up something I think it's getting better, buuuut when I succumb I think I will never be able to say no! Enjoy having your folks with you.
SERENE: So glad you were hurt in the accident! If the BMW hit you, shouldn't that insurance pay. For me, that's about as close to a BMW I would ever get! The numbness in the hands is a pain. My tingle too. In the slaw I also sometimes put in carrots, especially since they are now OK to use.
FRUIT: Glad you were able to get out of house arrest! What is it about not being able to sleep last night? I couldn't sleep either, got up and played a couple of games of Mahjonng, went back and an hour later was up again. I could see a flickering light downstairs, the TV was on, so DS or DIL wasn't sleeping either at 3a! Must be the full moon! Next Wednesday would be fine. Let me know times.
GATOR: WTG on 1.5#!
TRANQUIL: How scary! Bleeding eyes would have made me a basket case! Glad the meds are helping. Good on BP and lost poundage.
I don't usually see my DIL in the morning before she goes to work. I am wondering how she is doing today. Last night while mowing the lawn, she moved the trash can and out came a wasp and bit her. She had a welt the size of your hand. About an hour or so later it had doubled in size. She took some Benadryl and then went out with DS. I didn't see them when they got home, hope it's better.
In case you're thinking, she lives with her family, why doesn't she see them. I believe they need some privacy as I do. My living room, bedroom and office area are upstairs. We do things together and I usually do the cooking, but I relax and live in my own rooms. It's like if I lived down the street we wouldn't be together 24/7.
Okay, time to face the dreaded dirty rooms!!!!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLDER WHEN........
Everything hurts And what doesn't hurt, doesn't work.
The gleam in your eye is from the sun hitting your bifocals.
You feel like the night before and you haven't been anywhere.
Your little black book contains only names ending in MD
You get winded playing chess
Your children begin to look middle-aged
You join a health club and don't go
A dripping faucet cause an uncontrollable bladder urge
You know all the answers but nobody asks you the questions
You look forward to a dull evening
You turn out the lights for economic reasons rather than romantic ones
You sit in a rocking chair and can't get it going
Your knees buckle but your belt won't
Your back goes out more than you do
The little gray haired lady you help across the street is your wife
You have too much room in the house but not enough in the medicine cabinet
You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there
You have bifocals, dentures, hearing aid and no money.

Can't remember if I posted this before for Friday Funnies or not.At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the meaning of the word "service." The act of doing things for other people.
Then I heard the terms Internal Revenue Service, Postal Service, Civil Service, Service Stations...
And I became confused about the word "service." This is not what I thought "service" meant.
Then one day, I overheard two farmers talking and one of them mentioned that he was having a bull service a few of his cows.
SHAZAM!!
It all came into perspective. Now I understand what all those "service" agencies are doing to us...

Happy Friday Gang!
It's finnaly here. Yeah:D
Not much going on with me. Got to add another 2+ miles last night. DH wanted to walk after dinner. Got all my walking and workout done this a.m. So it's play time tonite. Sunday is our 29th anniversary. No big plans. Going to an outside fish place with 6 other coupls (3 of which are having birthdays this weeknd) So nothing romantic planned. Ha, Ha. After 29 years, what do you expect. Our little trip next week will be our "gift" and romance:cool:
Melf, Congrats on getting back to your goal wt. Sounds like a lovely time with your GS. I know how hard it is when someone dear leaves. I cry when I leave my DD at college and she is only 1 hr away.
Sef, WTG on your eating at the party. At least you got to clean out your earring drawer. Flylady says sling those things.
Quilter, Thanks for the dressing recipe. I'll give it a try as soon as I can get some more agave. WTG on passing up the candy and pretzels. It does get easier to say no the more times you do it. I have been doing this for so long now, my friends always make sure they have something for me to eat at their functions. I always tell them, don't worry about me, I'll bring something or find something to eat. Funny how people start thinking we are really serious about this. Keep up the good work. You are doing great. Enjoy your visit with M&D. Sounds like fun. WooHoo on the shorts. I bet you are looking HOT. You go girlfriend!!!
Serene, Sorry to hear about your accident. Was it your fault? I hit a guy drinving a BMW. It was my fault. He took it to court (he was a lawyer) and got a brand new BMW. Normal people just get their cars fixed. Kick the ex out. Give him a deadline. If for no other reason than your health. No wonder your BP is up. Congrats on all the other stuff though. Hope it's not your gallbladder. See, we keep telling you to exercise. You have the best opportunity to walk with Tranquil. Go for it, it's fun. I had that test for carpal tunnel. The guy threw needles at my arms and then turned this machine on that shocks you. My arms were flying all over the place. Said it is severe in my left hand and bad in my right. Surgery is the only cure, but it comes right back. So I'm not doing it. I sleep in the hand splints and take Vitamin B6. They really help. My trainer sorta follows SB except more stringent, She eats soy and flax and other stuff like that. She figures she can make it totally thru menopause w/o hormones by the food she eats. Guess there is soemthing to eating right. {{HUGS}} We are going to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It was one of those all inclusive, air fare, hotel, food, DRINKS, all for $517. each. There were 6 of us going, everyone backed out so just me & DH are going. Our 29th anniversary is Sunday, so we will still have fun. It's only for Fri-Mon.
Gator, WTG on the 1.5 drop. Great job on the walking. It gets better as it becomes a habit. Get you some ear phones or walkman. That helps alot. Yeah for you!
Slaphappy, WTG on your eating. Good luck at the restaurant. Avoid the bread. Order veggies with that steak or fish.
Tranquil, how scarry about your eyes. Glad they got it figured out. Do you take stuff for your allergies on a daily basis so they won't get that bad? Great news about the 255 pounds though. You go girl. Let's see a pic with that new bob, bet it is cute.
Rosalie, Congrats on getting to semi-retire. You will have some extra time for yourself. (& us too we hope). Enjoy.
Jred, Computer and A/c down. What a bummer. At least the computer repairs will be free. You are going like a house-afire with all that painting. I need to hire you.
Sef, boy Flylady would be proud of you. Sounds like you will have a busy day. Don't work too hard. I recognized too many of the "old" sayings. LOL THe other one was cute too & true.
Fruit, I have had the worst time sleeping too. Got up at 4:15 the nite before. Must be the full moon. Have a nice visit with your DS and DGM.
Marshmellow, Have a great day and weekend.
Hope to check in later.

Someone just sent me this one and I thought it was cute. My contribution to FF:
This man in his eighties got up and was putting on his coat.
His wife says,"Where are you going?" > He said, "I'm going to the
>doctor." And she said, "Are you sick?" > "No" he said, "I'm going to get me some of those new Viagra pills." > So his wife gets out of her rocker and puts on her coat. > He said," Where are you going?" > She said, "I'm going to the doctor too." > He said, "Why?" > She said, "If you're going to start using that rusty old thing, I'm going >to get a tetanus shot."

Just wanted to let you know I'm trying to work on a post but it's going to take me some time, not only because it's long winded, but my laptop is running slow for some unknown reason:shrug: I'll hit a bunch of keys typing and it takes forever for it to finally show, try reducing a window and it takes 4-5 clicks to finally go down:rolleyes: So, if you don't see the post from me tonight that means I'm screaming at the computer while being long winded!!!
Hope all is well!

Happy Friday everyone!
What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul.
- Yiddish proverb
A city boy, Kenny, moved to the country and bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day.
The next day, the farmer drove up and said, "Sorry, son, but I have some bad news. The donkey died."
Kenny replied, "Well, then, just give me my money back."
The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already."
Kenny said, "OK, then, at least give me the donkey."
The farmer asked, "What ya gonna do with him?"
Kenny, "I'm going to raffle him off."
Farmer: " You can't raffle off a dead donkey!"
Kenny: "Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he is dead."
A month later, the farmer met up with Kenny and asked, "What happened with that dead donkey?"
Kenny: "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit of $898."
Farmer: "Didn't anyone complain?"
Kenny: "Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back."
Kenny grew up and eventually became the Chairman and CEO of Enron!

Men vs Women
NICKNAMES:
If Laura, Suzanne, Debra and Rose go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Suzanne, Debra and Rose.
If Mike, Charlie, Bob and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.
EATING OUT:
When the bill arrives, Mike, Charlie, Bob and John will each throw in $20, although it is only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller, and none will actually admit they want change back. When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
MONEY:
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he wants.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she does not want.
BATHROOMS:
A man has six items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn.
The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.
ARGUMENTS:
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.
CATS:
Women love cats.
Men say they love cats, but when women are not looking, men kick cats.
FUTURE:
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
SUCCESS:
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
MARRIAGE:
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he does not.
A man marries a woman expecting that she will not change and she does.
DRESSING UP:
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.
NATURAL:
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.
OFFSPRING:
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There is no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Hello all,
I'm looking forward to this weekend since I'm going to a reggae festival out on one of the local indian reservations. For some reason many Native Americans LOVE reggae music - so much so that they draw some of the biggest acts from Jamaica to play on the reservations. I'm not complaining since I enjoy going. I haven't been to a reggae concert in some time, so I'm really looking forward to it. I just have to remember to not stand so close those people who choose smoke a little ganja. It's been a while for me and I could get a contact high! lol :dizzy: Next week I'm going to see Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy (rock bands for those of you who don't know). I'm going with my sister and 2 of my cousins. This summer is turning out to be a nice one. :)
Well, I had a bad day or two. I went to Trader Joes and bought some almonds and pistachios. OMG I demolished both of them! Overnight I went back up to 179. That's a little disappointing, but I know there is no way I ate the calories needed to do that, so it must just be some of the other variables that imfluence that metal monster (scale) and I know I will be down again soon. I've been on SB now for over 8 months which is longer than I thought I would last. This is the way I will eat for the rest of my life that's for sure. Now.... if only I could start losing again! Bah... oh well. School is starting again soon, so I will be back in a routine once again. Anyway, just thought I would drop in to say hi! Hope everyone is well and losing those pounds and inches.

An older lady was somewhat lonely, and decided that she needed a pet to keep her company. So off to the pet shop she went.
Forlornly, she searched. Nothing seemed to catch her interest, except this one ugly frog. As she walked by the barrel he was in, he looked up and winked at her!
He whispered, "I'm lonely too, buy me and you won't be sorry."
The old Lady figured, what the heck, as she hadn't found anything else. So, she bought the frog and went to her car.
Driving down the road the frog whispered to her, "Kiss me, you won't be sorry."
So, the old lady figured what the heck, and kissed the frog. Immediately the frog turned into an absolutely gorgeous, sexy,
handsome, young prince.
Then the prince kissed her back, and you know what the old lady turned into?
Come on, guess.........
The first motel she could find.

For goodness sake, look at this, it's 3:45 am. I had so much on my mind I couldn't sleep. Aack!!! When I did sleep, strange and annoying dreams too, like one with Marv Albert (who I used to work with) telling me he liked my new "substantial" look. Ick!
My big event was yesterday (with two more to follow, even bigger, yikes) and a raging success. We did a community block party in a shopping plaza to raise $ for a camp for underprivileged kids. Didn't hurt that the TV station that sponsors the camp is my husband's so I had 3 hours of live coverage during the morning news. That wacky reporter, who has a cult following, promised me he wouldn't put me on air and then snagged me. What a meanie. Anyway, it was an exhausting, raging success and we raised over $12,000 for this camp, an amazing amount. The client we did this for owns among other things, a liquor store. I said something about Mike's Hard Lemonade and he sent CASES of it and other goodies and flowers to me. I had left the office by then.
Good enough, tho, as I have had ENOUGH of this bod. I have a little soiree to go to week after next, so tomorrow it is totally back OP and Curves and lap swimming. I need to attack these hormones and see what happens.
Problem is....I really feel like I don't have a handle on the program anymore. Anyone feel like giving me a quickie refresher? I need to check the Favorite Legal SB Foods thread, that is a GREAT idea! WE go to to Maine Sunday to bring DS to camp, so I am hoping for some SB legal lobster. It is going to be hard. But I am NOT happy.
What I am happy about, and my oldies will recall, is that I think I may finally be getting my comeuppance career-wise. After 11 years of horrible jobs because I wanted PT, I may finally be getting myself in the right direction. I can't believe it, tho. One of my friends and her MIL saw me on TV - the MIL was just so excited and said "How did Vivian do that?", and my friend responded "Vivian can do ANYTHING".
Well, if I can do ANYTHING, I can beat this bod. I can't wait to go back to Curves - the owner was at my event and I feel like it was an omen to see her!
I suppose I should try to sleep. Again, sory for the impersonal responses. I do scan all the postings and am so happy to see the continued momentum of this program. Shows there's something to it, huh?
I HAVE to be able to do this!
Hugs!

Just going down memory lane. I was looking for a picture that I would like to add to my family rogue's gallery. Oc course, you can't just whiz through those old albums, can you?
I also started to design a "Bless This House" sampler for the HFH home that will be finished soon. So want to get the aida pressed and ready to stitch.
VIV: I hope your "substantial" new look didn't mean old Marv thought you were too big. Maybe he wanted to borrow your clothes! We now have a star in our midst, TV appearance WOW!! What a great job you must have done to raise that much money! Don't worry, if you want to bad enough you will get that handle on the program back! You ARE able to do this!!!
Seems like Viv and I are the only ones up and about!
Take care, Shirley

Good Saturday Morning
Just waiting around for time to go to a friend's pool. It is 94 here, cloudy some, but very humid. Could onlu walk 2 miles this morning. Mayble I'll finish more tonight.
Just cut up some veggies to take to the pool for me and DD. BTW, DD thinks she lost 8 pounds this week. She didn't actually weigh the day she started, but had a good idea of what she weighed. It was a great motivating thing. Even though it was probably all water. It will help here keep going.
Daramus, Sounds like you are having anice summer. Going to that Indian reservation sounds cool. I love the history of Indianns. You will start losing again. You are probably retain water from all those nuts. Keeping drinking, it will go back down.
Viv, What a grat fund raiser. That was a lot of money you raised for such a good cause. You can do this. You did it before, jump on the wagon. Keep coming here and plan, plan plan. We are here for you.
Toni, That was horrible about that little girl. You have to wonder about this world.
Have a grat day everyone.

Hi All!
Just popped in to say hi. Did quickly scan the board from my Thursday post onward.
SEF, your FF's are just tooooooo funny. Loved the one about the Viagra. LOL
Fruit, wish I could make the luncheon on Wed, but have VBS this week, starting tomorrow night, so there's just no way to get there & back & still be prepared to teach all those kids Wed night. Hope you'll have a wonderful time though. You'll LOVE SEF. She's a DOLL, earrings & all ;)!
Sabrina, Hope your eye is feeling better! When I first read the post I thought "Why is she putting pink & red stuff on her eyelids?" Still have asleep here. LOL
Serene, sorry to hear about your accident. Hope all turns out ok. Also LOVED your FF's. Really cute ones there. LOL
VIV, great to see you posting again. Have missed you. Isn't it the pits not to be able to sleep without those weird kinds of dreams?? LOL
Well ya'll, I've got to go get some last minute decorating done at the church. My classroom is turning out to look like an Amazon village. I need to get some last minute things done & study, study, study so that I can be prepared for those 4th, 5th, & 6th graders. I have a wonderful helper though, & I know that she will be a good support for me. See ya!

Hey All:wave:
Well, it seems that I am not going to get in the post I had hoped to and I hope you can all understand. I'm screaming at this computer, as it's driving me nuts! I don't know what's going on with it:shrug: but I'll type an entire line before I see anything on the screen, I can't get the arrow to move correctly around the screen, it's taking forever to load up a page and the computer isn't keeping the time correctly either-it says it's 5:17pm and I just called time and it says it's 6:33pm!
I just have no patience for this. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go get a new modem no matter what the cost is and even though I don't have the money:(
I'll try my darndest to work on something when I have some more patience-it's grown a bit thin lately and to say I'm pissed off is being nice about it all.
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weekend. Pray I get my computer up and running well, at least one of the two!

I hope you all are really enjoying your weekend. I've been pretty busy and haven't had a chance to read or post. So hopefully later today I'll be able to catch up. My parents are leaving some time today and I have to go buy bras. I am in bra crisis!!! DH will be home hopefully around supper time. He's had a good time with his bros, but is ready to come home.
I wanted to tell you all that BKM called me Friday night and wanted me to send greetings to you all from her. She's been super busy. ZSUZSU is about ready to deliver her baby (yippee for her) and BKM has been getting some of those hours left open by ZSU having her baby. BKM hopes to get back on with us soon. But she wanted to let you all know that you are all in her thoughts.
Okay, that's it for me. I've got to get some things done before going on the bra search.

Good Sunday morning everyone. Its as usual a real hotty here today. This is a good stay at home day and maybe I can even squeeze in some time to read my Dr. Phil book... It seems to take me forever to read a book anymore. I tried making the sweet potato chips last night but I guess my oven got to hot and burnt a bunch of them and they were awful.... It was my DH first time to try them and the look on his face was priceless.. Think I'll just make soup and sandwiches or salad tonight.... LOL.. I'm doing good staying OP this week and hope to have a loss by Wed.
Jack-K- your joke was funny......Wow your DD is doing wonderful... Smart gal to cut those veggies up.. I think 2 miles is great....
Debilli-Hope you don't have to scream at that computer.... Wonder whats going on with that laptop??
Daramus-I would love to see the reggae festival you're going to.. I've never been to one and would love to see what its like... I can't keep nuts of any kind in my house and almonds or pistachios would especially be hard... I love them!!!! I really agree with you I've never been on a better eating program than SB and believe me this gal has been on allot of different ones. I'm getting ready to start my fifth month on this and love it..
Viv-Yikes is right 3:45.....AM!!!! Bet you're a sleepy one about now.... Wow your event sounds great. And you raised so much money... Yep time to get back on the wagon and go again. You can do this and do it now... You've got to start talking to yourself and telling your self today is the day.. Start by taking an hour then two etc. Pretty soon you'll be back at it. Grab the SB book and read a bit in it... You "CAN" do anything Viv so get to it...
Sef- Oh I love a walk down memory lane every once in awhile and it usually does start by looking at one picture.....then another and on and on.... How wonderful to know how to do needlepoint...
Gracious- Quit that eating questionable things... shame shame.... LOL
Melf- Sounds like you're busy busy......
Guess I'll go and get my day going..... I feel a cat box cleaning coming on Yucky!!!!

Hi everyone!
I had a great time yesterday even though I got too much sun. The reggae festival was an all day event with a total of 5 bands taking the stage throughout the day (2 local bands and 3 from Jamaica). I was looking forward to seeing "King Yellowman" and I wasn't disappointed. Yellowman has been around forever, and he is unique in a couple ways. First, he is an albino born of two black parents who then abandoned him to an orphanage. In the 90's he had throat and skin cancer that resulted in having to remove part of his jaw, leaving him disfigured. Despite all that, he still gets out on stage and works the crowd. :) Also, a band called Inner Circle (best known to most people for the theme to TV's Cops) was there. They have been around for at least 20 years. During the set the singer smoked a joint during a song about openly smoking marijuana. I left around 9am and got home about midnight. I had maybe 4 beers all day and even pulled on a spliff that was circulating through the crowd once the sun went down. I haven't had any in some time, so, despite partaking in moderation, I still.... ugh.... felt it. Great day all in all. Now im getting ready for a rock concert thursday. Big difference in the crowds at the rock concert. Reggae fans are so laid back and range in age from children to seniors - no mosh pits either. But I enjoy all kinds of music and people, so I'm not complaining.
Well, since I was a tad bit off program yesterday, I'm straight as an arrow today. The scale is back down so I'm happy about that too. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Take care

HiedieHo All!!
Good afternoon! Usual stuff. Went to church today, included in the service was a farewell to two of our members who are moving to Austin to go to seminary. They are such a nice couple, sang in choir and were very active in midst. We will miss them.
On way home went to WD. What bargains on meats! Some things were buy one get two free. I bought 3 bnles rump roasts, 4 pkgs top round steaks, 2 pkgs country pork ribs, 3 pkgs bnls skinless chicken breasts, 3 pkgs salad shrimp, 2# pkg regular shrimp, 2 pkgs pork blade steaks, 2 5# pkgs hamburger, 1 gal. skim milk, 2 pkgs pita, 2# salmon cuts, 3 nectarines all for 102.51. I thought that was a bargain! Made my day!
Isn't it wonderful that all the miners were still alive. Miraculous!
MELF: Sorry you won't be able to join us in Covington. I know your ears will ring!
DEB: Patience! Seldom in a woman, never in a man! We do miss your chit chat so hope you get up and running soon.
QUILT: How did the bra search go?
TONI: My failing are cashews! Could never eat just one! I had to learn needlepoint. My DD gave me a kit one Christmas, of a cat on a windowsill, with geraniums (she loves cats and collects cat things). I read the directions, made it and gave it back to her the next Christmas framed!
DARAMUS: Okay, this old broad isn't very hip at times (hippy yes, hip no). So what is a spliff? I know joints, etc. Sounds like the day out was great. You really seem quite knowlegeable.
One of our choir members is moving down the street from us. Today he asked me what I was giving him for a housewarmong/moving into the neighborhood gift. We joked back and forth about it. Guess I'll have to make him a welcome sign.
Slow board isn't it? Going to make some to check on invites for my trip.

Sunday afaternoon, just checking in. Getting ready to go to a fish place for dinner. Taking my own bread withme.
Melf, your classroom sound so cute. Hope you have a nice VBS.
Gracious, what are you eating?
Deb, Computers can be so frustrating. It took me forever to get mine fixed. They are great when they work, but they drive you nutty when they don't
Quilter, We are in the same boat. Except mine is panties. Mine are so big I have a constant wedgie. Nice visual there. Think I'll go shopping for some sexy ones before my trip next week.
Toni, never made the SP chips, but made SP fries. They were pretty good for something different. DH even put ketchup on them. LOL
Daramus, Glad you had a good time at your festival. Great going on the scale going down. Keep up the good work.
Sef, What bargains you got at the grocery. Good idea on the needlepoint for your friend. I bet she was surprised.
Have a great evening everyone. See ya tomorrow,
Jackie

Hey Everyone!
Just a quickie to say I'm back from visiting my grandmother and sister. We did have an unfortunate incident while there. I was riding with my brother in law and nephew in his car and my husband was behind us with my sister in her car and they plowed right into us! Someone in front of us slammed the brakes and my sister was just chatting away with my husband and didn't see that we had to stop and she hit us. I am VERY SORE today! OUCH! My husband has some bo-bos from the airbag. Everyone was for the most part ok. My sister's ankle is sprained or fractured - not sure yet! I feel like she ran right over me! So, I'll check back in tomorrow- I just skimmed posts but don't feel much like posting right now! I'll see ya then!

Happy Sunday Everybody! My parents just left and my honey is minutes from home. I’m so ready for the family unit here to be complete. So is Miss Maddie. She doesn’t like it when mom and dad are here.
Well, I proved victorious over the 2-mile Leslie Sansone Walkaerobics tape. Wow! I was exhausted! And to think that once I was so able to do that tape without even breaking a sweat! But one step at a time!!! I made it to the end and that was the best part.
FRUIT---Oh my gosh!!! You poor thing!!! I can’t believe it!!! I am thanking god that your nose wasn’t hurt in the accident. Take care, honey! And keep your eyes open for the other guy!
JACK-K---The underwear dilemmas of the yoyo girl. Does that sound like a good name for a book. Kind of like the Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood. LOL. Perhaps just a tiny bit of TMI on the wedgie thing. But we’re all family here so why not? Okay, I missed something. Where are you going? Sounds like we are all going somewhere next week!
SEF---Is WD Winn Dixie? We don’t have those here. Actually they bought a chain that is here called Thriftway. But I’m kind of hooked on Krogers. I have a love/hate relationship with that store. I have silently banned the K’s nearest to me. It’s a dreadful, dirty, evil-spirited store and I will never cross it’s doors again. But I have found the elite Krogers that will satisfy my shopping needs. Ha! The bra search went fast and ended very well. There is only one good thing about gaining weight and that is that “the girls” are at an all time high cup size. They are revelling in this right now! LOL I knew which bra I wanted at VS so it was pretty easy. Sorry you weren’t talking about the Covington that’s close to me.
TONI---Did you get a good read in today? I tried to take that suggestion and curled up on the couch and was is a state of drool sleep within 15 minutes. Whew, this heat really takes all the energy out of you.
DEB---Hope you beat the computer blues really soon. We miss you when you’re not on telling us all we can do it!
VIV---I know what you mean about feeling out of it in reference to eating OP. Don’t you remember some of our past IM’s where I was really struggling and questioning everything. At that time you were eating OP and doing such a great job. So you have the power to get back into it. My first suggestion would be to get your kitchen stocked with legal stuff. Take a few moments of your rushed life and do a grocery visit for VIV!!! If you have the right stuff in the house to eat, then that’s the first step. I know you can do it. You are woman, HEAR YOU ROAR!!! {{{{hugs}}}}}
JRED---I’m so proud of you getting your living room painted. You really kicked butt on that project, girlfriend!
ROSALIE---Sounds like you’ve had a busy, busy week. I hope you are at least having some fun while being so busy. Take care!
TRANQ---I hope by now that your eyes are getting better. I had something oozy in my eyes a while back when I had a terrible sinus infection. I was surprised at how quickly they got better with the right medicine. So glad to hear about your new wonderful haircut. Doesn’t it feel great to love your hair. I haven’t loved my hair for a very long time. So I’m trying somebody new tomorrow. She cuts a couple of my friends’ hair and I love theirs. I really want a look that works for me. Your successful cut makes me feel better about going into my appointment tomorrow.
Okay, that’s it for me tonight! I feel like I ate too much today. I didn’t go with anything illegal, but I do think I did overdo. I’ll bet Mr. Scale won’t be happy in the morning! LOL

QUILTER: I was just checking e-mail and I saw you posted so I popped in to see what good things ya had to say. I am also very happy that my nose wasn't hurt! There had to be some devine intervention here - usually I would be riding with my sister and not my BIL! If I would have been with her - the airbag would have hit me in the face and more than likely - broke my nose. So, for some strange reason - my hubby and I were in the opposite cars from where we would normally be! But, my sister still wants us to go get a head to toe check out just to be sure everything is ok. She has already spoken to the insurance company and they know that I just recently had surgery and all and they suggested that I get all that checked just to be on the safe side. It's my hubby that I'm more concerned about because about 12 years ago he had surgery in an ear and he has plastic bones in there - well that ear was the one right by the airbag when it opened and made a horribly loud noise. His ear is still ringing! It's driving him nuts. So, I'll be making some phonecalls tomorrow to his doctor. I'll keep ya posted on everything!! See ya tomorrow!

It's late and so this is short.
Had a good weekend but very busy.
Picked up DS at the airport yesterday and have him home for 2 1/2 weeks.
Had a club meeting last night.
Church and orchestra practice today.
I'm ready for the week to start. :)
Got my pictures hung, rearranged some and like what I did. DD said my shelves are too cluttered, but I want everything that's on them to stay there, so I have clutterd shelves.
Tranquil: I love getting haircuts that I love. I've had the same hair artist ( honestly, that's what they call themselves) for 7 years and she really knows how to cut and color my hair. Glad you like your sassy 'do.
Missy: Thank goodness you are okay. Devine intervention was definitely working there, girlfriend.
Quilter: I know you're glad hubby's home and the homefront is settled again. I love my parents, but don't you feel like a kid again when they are around for an extended period of time? I do.
Deb: hope you get your technology issues worked out. I hope I get mine fixed tomorrow, too. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.
Daramus: I have a feeling you were a very happy person after that Reggae festival:s: My two DN's went to a garage jam band festival in Tennessee last month. Did you hear about Bonnaroo? I think that's how they spelled it. Took them 12 hours to get off the freeway and into the festival area. They had a blast.
Well, DS wants me to leave his room so he can go to sleep. I'll respond to some more of you tomorrow.
