Hi girls, big hug to you all. I will be coming over to our thread shortly but wanted to get this up for us. I hope everyone had a great September and wishing you all a successful and happy new month. Here is to a new month for us all.

Hope to see everyone from our previous months and also any newcomers who may be joining us, all are welcome : ).

You know the drill girls! Just state your goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! THe sky is the limit! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable......just your goal, even if that goal is to maintain or whatever the case may be. THough the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the underlying overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not be revolved around weight loss, it may be maintenance or eating healthier...and/or kicking a soda habit or whatever the case may be.

As for me chickies, my goal for our new month is to get back to my shedule...I just need to focus on that right now and things will begin to fall in place for me. Talk soon

We will be putting up our sister thread, "October Exercise Challenge" shortly and eveyone who is interested is welcome to join in . Exercise goals will be listed in that thread (other goals here) for those of you who will be joining there.

Note: We keep a members list with our goals and if/when those goals are met, we put red print and goal met next to our goals. You can take a peek at the end of last months thread to see what it looks like. Please don't feel bad if/when you may not reach a specific number, goal, etc. Always remember that making positive changes along the way (the journey) are wonderful accomplishments in and of themselves .

Monthly weight loss challenge FAQ's

Do we weigh in on a certain day and how frequently? We don't have a specific WI day and WI on the day we choose. Many of the girls WI on the first day of the month and that ends up being the WI day for the month while others get WI at WW (weight watchers) on specific days, etc. How frequently we weigh in is a personal matter and specific to each of our own indivual needs. Daily WI's for some of the girls work great for them, while others prefer to WI weekly, bi-weekly, etc.

Do we need to post personals? etc... Absolutely not ladies. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't . We are a large group and it is difficult to post personals sometimes. THe time just does not exist sometimes. If you don't have time for personals it's okay.....post away

What does OP mean, DH, etc. ? We often use abbreviations here. OP means on plan. DH means dear husband, DD means dear daughter, DS = dear son, WI means weigh In, TOM means that time of month, lol means laughter out loud, and kwim means know what I mean.

Is everyone on a specific plan? We all have various plans. SOme of us are on WW, south beach, are own plans, etc. Though we do believe in and follow the guideline of not going below 1,200 cals a day and along these lines also strive to follow the site guidelines .

What day do we count our loss, the last day of the month or the first of the following month? Either way. Most girls report their loss the last day of the month and if they have another loss that following morning (on the first) they either add it to the current months total loss or roll it over to the new month. Think of it as a bonus day :).

See you all soon chickies hugsssssss

Count me in

I didn't quite reach my September goal, but came close. Tomorrow is my final Sept. weigh in and I'm hoping to see 130 or 129 which would be 3 or 4 out of the 5lb goal I set. I also didn't make my exercise goal due to getting sick for a week, so only got in half the minutes I wanted. Now I'm ready to start fresh again. I started a new workout program, Shaun T's Insanity. Actually just finished the fitness test and did really well, very proud of myself.

Goals for October
To be anywhere between 120 and 125lbs
Eat healthy and post my menu everyday
Drink 8 glasses of water a day

Shrinking Girl

Yay! I'm so glad you got this baby up, FSA! What would we do without you? Oh that's right..we were all wondering what to do without you. LOL Missed you!

My October goals are:
1. Reach 139 pounds (that's my 30% mark and puts me a couple pounds into the healthy BMI range!)
2. Plan meals
3. Drink my water and take my vitamin!
4. At least 4 Fruits/Veggies EVERY day

September was the first month I felt I wasn't drinking my water as much as I should. I don't know what it was, but this month I'm making it a goal to keep it on my mind more.

Sandye-It's weird 'cuz I think I just have needed more water this month and haven't been as good about taking it with me everyhwere and stuff. And the vitamin habit has gotten a good start (maybe I will add it again, just in case...hmmmm) and I didn't want to have a million goals, but thanks for looking out for me, chickie! Okay, so now that I have a scale that DOES work, I’m going to try this again…

SW: 280
GW:265

I want to comfortably fit into a size 20 and attend WW meetings EVERY week. 15 lbs. is a bit high, but I have half my body weight to lose, so I really think it’s do-able!

Good Luck Everyone!

This is the first time I joined this challenge.
I have been off plan a couple of months and not exercising regularly.
My Goal is to lose 18.2 LBS. 10/01 SW 230.2 GW 212 I don't know if I can really lose this much in one month. But Goal to work toward.
Drink 8- 8 oz glasses of water daily
Walk 30 minutes a day.
I have more exercise goals, but won't post all those.

Hello October! I love this time of year, especially Halloween.

I am 99% sure I will hit all my Sept. goals, so I'm going to aim for a little different goal for October.

Alright, I have reevluated my goals and I hope to be 240 this month. Thats 11lbs from where I am currently. However, a fw of those 11lbs are water weight since I went on vacay for a few days last week and ate badly. I have started South Beach diet and I hope this can help me stay on track to be 240 this month.

I'm in! Don't know yet if I'll meet September's goal (oh so close). Made goal of 7-10 lbs my first month here (July). August, not! September-maybe. Too many occasions and too much company. I have high hopes for October, so I will stick with my goal of 7-10 pounds, trying a couple of new exercise videos, attempt to plan my meals ahead of time, and to continue DRINKING MY WATER, SANDYE! Good luck chickies!

I'm definitely in! I'm new to 3FC and I love it here! It feels like home.

My weight goal is to lose 15 pounds by Halloween. I'm sure I can do it.

I had a heart to heart with my boyfriend last night and expressed some of my concerns about our diet. My goal is to try to eat healthier regardless of what he chooses.

And I would like to boost my exercise routine. I will start by making sure to do SOME KIND of physical activity for at least 30 minutes on "rest days" from my regular program.

Hopefully I can go above and beyond these targets. It feels great to say (or at least type) these goals out loud! ;)

Get to 205's
Begin a running routine
Plan out/measure out my meals and snacks
And I think I might have to add stay away from the sweets, I'll allow myself maybe a mini candy bar (like the fun size) after dinner if I had an OP day.

I know I can do it! I want to look good for my friend's wedding on Halloween.

Morning, all!
I've been gone for a couple of years (did ya miss me?) but finally getting back on track again.
Hit an all-time high at 305 and finally said "ENOUGH!!". So, I'm back on the Alli, taking longer walks with the dog and working on portion sizes.

My long term goal is to stop the scale on the downside of 200, but I know I have to get there a couple of pounds at a time. Also, I'm looking at a week's vacation and celebrating my birthday this month.

Sooo, keeping all that in mind, my October goal is 5 lbs.

Thank you FSA for updating the list--as always, we are eternally grateful!! Hope you'll be around much, much more this month and that things calm down for you hun!

Beck~ :welcome: Your goals sound great!!! Welcome back to 3FC!!!! :)

Well ladies, it's a brand new day, a brand new month and it's starting off great! TOM is officially outta here! And I saw another drop this morning 134 even so I'll take it. Today is also my first day of upping my calories a bit--no more calorie cycling for me, it's time to try out that mysterious thing called 'maintenance eating' ;) I'm going to up my cals to about 1500-1600 through the weekend and see how it goes. Actually, on Sunday I'll probably go over that as it's my ds' Birthday and you returning ladies know what that means...My FIL's Fantastic Cake!!! Mmmmm! And you know I never skip cake on Birthdays! :D

So anyway, that's what's up here. I got my last practice run in before the 5K on Saturday and I talked to someone in the organizer's office and changed my entry from "Fun Walk" to "Competitive Run", not sure what came over me, but I'm going for it!!! :running:

Okay girls, now get out there and have a wonderful day and don't forget to...

To all our oldies but goodies, you're all awesome, make me laugh, well Sadnye makes me cry but otherwise mostly laugh, and it's so nice to see everyone up and at it this month again!

:welcome: to our new ladies, Amy, helpmelose, Cle ;), VickieLou, Momto3kitties, Metal Chick, AmyHK, lynnloo, Jen7, Gabby, Anni57, Hamoco, Rachiru, Beck. So glad to have everyone here, it's truly an amazing resource for those of us that have have been here awhile. So no worries, scale up, scale down, fell into a giant bag of cookies, just come on back and know we've been there too, we'll be there again and we're all here to help each other get this done.

Sandye - WTG miss competitive run, lol, I think that's perfect considering you can run at the 30 minute make, fun run is for people pushing strollers who haven't just surpassed they maintenance goal ;) I'm looking forward to watching how this maintenance thing works for you and learn from the master, lol.

Susie - So excited you're grabbing the bull by the horns this month, 10lbs woohoo! I'm all for new beginnings, we'll just leave that nasty old Septmeber behind.

Cle - That looks incredibly doable and the water's important, Sandye has GPS and she knows how to find us :)

LTTG - Now we know where Sandye gets her rolling pin from, lol, it's a genetic rolling pin! Great attitude though, it will be gone!

Ang - So glad to see you, so how's your dh doing? Do you get to talk to him much? So dd is still getting poked and proded, are they closer to being able to stop doing that yet?

Jacque is missing this month :( Hope you're doing alright!

So I popped up a 0.4 from yesterday but just to hit 162.2 so I'll start there for the month, I think I may have gone lower in my calories on Monday than I calculated for the day, I have a sneaky suspicision that may have created the monster drop yesterday, but a full pound did stick around so that's marvelous.

I'm off to the bank for some official playgroup business, and then maybe coffee with the other two ladies who are running it with me this year. Then making some soup, working out and getting to bed very early for a 90 minute run tomorrow at 5am, so help me!

I hope everyone's October is off to a blazing start and we'll catch up later!

Good morning chicas!! And Happy October!!! Time to clean out the fireplace and let the pumpkin baking begin! Can you tell this is my favorite time of the year?

So I'm having a bit of water retention issues from salt+exercise, but I was in the 177's for 4 days straight, so I'm counting that as my end weight for September. Which means I hit my goal of 10 pounds down in one month! Those old jeans form 3 & 4 years ago are now getting put to god use. Silly husband wanted me to purge my closet a while ago - hmph - I showed him, right!

So, losing this next 8 pounds is my first mini-goal. I have my DH's high school reunion to attend early November, and I want a new dress! I will be down 21 pounds at 170, smaller than I was at my wedding. I might just revise my final goal to be 130 so that I have even mini-goal increments.

I haven't figured out what I want my final reward to be, but it's going to be something big. Although, feeling great about myself might just be enough. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, enough rambling by me. Have a great day girls!!!

Ok. So I missed the september goal of 249. That is ok. Looking back at my score card, I did lose 10 lbs in september. So this morning I get on the scale to start October and was at 252.2. It is ok. I wasn't on perfect plan yesterday, but will recover. 239 here I come.

Welcome to all of our new challenge members and let's hit it to all everyone. Wouldn't it be awesome if the entire list was goal met this month. LEt's do it!!!!

Hopped on the scale this morning and down another lb. Thats 6lbs since Monday and the lowest weight I have hit since starting in August. Last night for dinner, we went to costco and picked up some king crab legs. I LOVE crab. It is full of protein and does not have that many calories in it. We ate it with asparagus cooked with balsamic vinegar, mmmm!
Sooo, I have been feeling sick lately. I think its my allergies mostly. I have the worst case of post nasal drip. I can't stop coughing and hacking all day and all night. I wake up several times in the middle of the night coughing and running to the bathroom. I'm going to try some over the counter medicine today and if I don't feel better by Monday, I'm definatly going to the doctor.

Hellooooo Chickies!

Welcome to October! Just thought I'd start the month off right by actually doing a proper post. It's great to see so many people signed up for this month! WooHoo!

idream W-O-W I'm fairly speechless and motivated beyond belief at your accomplishment of goal. Way to go!! You are a true inspiration! Have fun with maintenance and I'm sure glad you're sticking around. This place wouldn't be the same without you! And OMG competitive run! Look at you go! I can't wait to hear how you do!

susiemartin Here's hoping October brings you a fantastic loss!!

Imdedicated I had to laugh yesterday when I read the posts and saw a couple other people think your name was I'm Medicated, it's what I saw at first glance too! Welcome aboard!

LTTG Want to have a scale throwing contest? We'll see who can throw theirs the furthest?

canadian Wow, 17 vials of blood is a lot. Hopefully it was definitely worth it!

Tummy I'm sorry, did you say 90 minute run? I get tired just thinking about that! Kudos to you!

Nella Isn't it good to feel great? Way to go on meeting your Sept goal!!

Well chickies, I'm feeling pretty darned good today. My new pants came yesterday (thank goodness) and I'm wearing them. They're an incredibly comfy size 18 and along with the new size XL sweater I got. Yep, that's right, not a 1X or a 2X... just a plain old XL. I've been putting clothes in a bin to give to my sister every time I go to wear something and it looks awful because of how baggy it is. As a result... my wardrobe is down down down and I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for things to wear to work! It's kind of a funny feeling, both good and bad. Now that I have some pants, I desperately need to find some shirts. I'm wearing one right now that is a tie-back from my heaviest days and the only reason it works is because the extra fabric is bunched up in back! (Hence the sweater, to hide all the bunched up crapola in the back). Sometimes I find myself looking in the mirror at my side-reflection and I stop because it's just not as wide as it used to be and my stomach isn't sticking out through my shirt. All very good feelings.

I've transitioned my running to a tread mill which is enabling me to work on my form (I am one of those people who hold their arms too high and rigid... you know.. hanging on for life while I run so I don't accidentally fall through death's door I guess) and I'm also going to start working on speed. I've been having great 30 minute runs. I'm ready to be done when 30 minutes hits but I could easily talk the entire time if I wanted to and I think that's a good accomplishment. I'm going to start slowly increasing my speed (and I do mean slowly... perhaps a change of name to the Slow Girl is in order).

Wow, I'm rambling! I hope everyone has a great day!

Yesterday was my day to be on the road with DH boy was it a long day up at 6am and didn't get home until 11:30pm last night. I was so very tired. Today is the begining of the month so I am busy getting all the month end books done. It is a beautiful fall day today can't believe this year is going so fast... Where has the time goine :)
As for my weight I was back up this morning to the begining weight of September (218) :tantrum: Will this cycle ever end :stress: I am drinking lots of water today hopefully that will help. I hve dedided to give up all diet pepsi for this month and drink only water :yay: Hopefully I can do it :crossed: My goal is to lose 6lbs this month so that would put me to 212 I am really hoping to be at 210 that would be an added bonus. My meal plan is now posted on the fridg door so I can see everyday what I am eating... I will switch up my veggies a little but for the most part I like to eat pretty much the same every week LOL Hope you have a great day I'll check in later :)

Hey! I'm brand new, so this is obviously my first challenge.

My goal is to control myself while out with friends!

Controlling myself around family and friends is so HARD especially since there always seems to be chips around! I have a weakness for salty crispy things.

Luck to us both!

2. Run on my treadmill every other day.
3. Cook more.
4. Help my family to get healthy.
5. Drink less soda.
6. Go down one pant size.
7. Feel confident around my crush.

Happy October Chickies!!

Nello Wow! :yay: Awesome loss, Looks like that achilles won't be slowing you down!

Taurie I know what you mean about family and friends. I have the same problem and since I'm at my parents' house almost every Sunday, I have to deal with major temptations every week! Last Sunday my mom bought this huge triple chocolate cake for a few of the birthdays that are soon and I had too big of a piece, but it was delicious

sotypical My weight loss has always been slow. Even in the past when I've worked my butt off and ate very good the most I would lose is 6-7lbs a month. Now 3-4lbs a month seems to be the norm, (except for Sept, I only lost 1lb )

Beck1beck Glad you're back!! This is a great bunch of ladies here!

Sandye I bet you are on cloud 9 at that weight, I know I would be! 135 was my original goal but I figured since my newer scale (I've had it 1.5 years) weighs a few pounds more than my old one, 140 puts me at 135 according to the old one and about the lowest I've ever been able to get since having kids. Ok that sounds a little confusing! I would love to get back to pre-kid weight of around 125 but I don't think my body would allow that. I know you are going to maintain just perfectly! And you are going to kick butt in that 5K!

Imdedicated I think you will find this a great challenge, these girls are wonderful!

LTTG I know that 1.5 will be gone in no time!

canadianangel Glad to see you back! I was wondering how you were doing the other day. I hope all the vials of blood from dd will provide some answers. Hope your dh is doing well too.

mystical Dont be discouraged about being at the same weight, I'm only down 1lb for September but I'm thankful that I didn't gain since I had a vacation and I wasn't feeling well sometimes. You'll get there, I'm sure! And I think its great giving up the diet soda. I will occasionally drink it but I feel like a hypocrite when I do because I have preached so much against it to other people.

Tummy That .4 doesn't have a chance, I'm sure it will be knocked into the pages of history by tomorrow! A 90 minute run!!?? :faint: I can't even fathom it!

Nella :cheer2: Congrats on reaching your Sept. goal!

jello 10 pounds is an awesome loss for a month even if you didn't reach your goal!

shasha I'm glad SBD is working for you. I did it for a short period of time a long time ago and it really did work. I can't do it anymore because I get sick on that low of carbs. Hope you get over your sickness soon!

SG WTG on the clothes!! Shopping for smaller clothes is so much funner than shopping for bigger clothes!

 to anyone I've missed!

As for me my weight is down the lowest its been since we got back from vacation but still higher than it was after the first week of September. I officially lost 1lb for the month, woopee  But considering I had several days of feeling off and a vacation, I'm just happy I didn't gain. 160s here I come!!
I've been drinking my water (i'm pretty good about that) and actually have been getting more than my usual 64oz. For some reason I feel really excited today. The weather is beautiful, sunny and 68F, I love fall! I'm getting ready to do some yoga and I rented a kids fitness dvd so I plan on doing that with the kids too.
We are trying to put on our best defenses with the cold and flu season upon us. Starting extra VitC, giving everyone a probiotic, putting echinacea in our tea, and trying to keep sugar at a minimum. I'm making chicken soup with lots of fresh garlic and parsley in it today. So listen to Sandye everyone and make sure you drink your water,:coffee: its important for your immune system too!

 Here's to our first day!!

Super quick fly by post to say hello and that I hope everyone has had a great first day!!! I'll be back later on tonight for personals if possible!

Btw, I decided to start the month off right and try a new recipe!! :carrot: I made a Spinach Turkey Roll--it's basically a rolled up turkey meatloaf with spinach and a little bit of cheese--turned out pretty good. A little less spicy that I like, but I can always fix that. It was only 190 cals per slice and the slice wasn't puny so that made me a happy girl! Not to mention I got a ton of spinach in my piece! Mmmmm! Anyway, I'll post the recipe or link to it if anyone wants it. :)

Okay, must tidy up before hubby comes home--he's going to be stoked to have an actual plate with a REAL dinner on it when he gets home--it's been a wacky week for dinners this week and he's suffered a bit. ;)

Have a great night girls!!!

So I have decided to add to my "goals". Or maybe these are just things that will help get me to my first goal of losing 8 lbs... Anyway. I started taking a multi-vitamin today and I've started writing everything I eat and my workouts down on paper - I'm going to try to do this all through October! I may try to log everything into FitDay at the end of each day, but I'm not guaranteeing that one - only as time allows!

Evening Ladies,

Nella - Feeling great and a nice vacation, that would be good too ;) Or maybe an entire new waredrobe?!

Jellofer - Only missed by a smidge too! I think that would be fantastic if everyone got lite up in red, I think that's an awesome plan.

Shasha - OMG dear you're melting this week. That must feel good after all the ups and downs and frustrations you had, good for you.

SG - I'm tired thinking about too, unfortunately, I've reloaded the ipod and was almost thinking a book on tape might be nice if it had a better beat to it. :carrot:on the XL, isn't is nice to not be described in degrees of large anymore. I always though of it as fat to a power of two, hated that. Oh I envy the treadmill, oh how warm sounding. And easier to gage speed too, that will be helpful rather than the third mailbox on the left is a mile marker.

Mystical - Consider yourself kicked in the butt, lol, I have no doubt that you will find the way that works best. Once you get into that routine of planning meals and working out it just hums along like a fairly well oiled machine with only an occasional squeak. Good for you on the diet pepsi too, it's so incredibly worth it, your body will thank you over and over again.

Cle - Ya, Sandye takes this all very seriously, lol. But virtual butt kickings are much nicer than the real thing.

Sotypical - Congrats on last month! That's fantastic and here's to doing it again!

Kitgetsfit - awesome goals and look forward to getting to know you this month, welcome aboard.

Nello - holy crap girl, 4lbs that's frickin' awesome! I think that adjustment was a good idea or you'd have met it by tomorrow, lol. Have you decided what you workout plan is now that you're aircasted?

Princessjen - Welcome, welcome!

Ruth - What a gorgeous family and where was that taken? It looks beautiful. I'm thinking it's going to be a very long and cold trek but I always seem to find something to think about, it makes the time go by faster, lol. I'll post when I've made it back alive. So close to those 160's you'll be there in no time and that's for sure with the cold stuff, I'm hoping that all these healthy changes made around here will keep us ladies in tip top shape this winter.

Amy - Congrats! It does feel so fantastic to finally do it, the weeks fly by and I bet in no time we'll have another race runner around here.

Jen7 - Well my advice is to plan, figure out what you're going to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks before the weekend. Make sure everything fits into you points and then just eat that. It sounds kind of silly but once you take the emotion out of the moment and know that you only eat what you planned it's soo much easier.

Sandye - is that meat and potatoes man needing some meat and potatoes? They sure do put up with some crazy experiments, lol, poor guys.

Helpmelose - I love the optimism, I'm super excited about this month too, each month just seems even better than the one before.

Rachiru - I always found that too, there are so many ppl getting it done around here and in so many ways, it gives you hope that it can be done, it's endlessly inspiring.

Gotta go get to bed but first must check the weather and find a hat to wear tomorrow, I have a feeling 5am is going to be very chilly and frosty. It was a beautiful day here and all the trees are started to change, it's just gorgeous, shame it means the snow is coming soon though. Really nice day too, got a chance to go out for coffee (without child) and have a delighful adult conversation with a very intelligent funny lady that I met at playgroup, it was just divine. It's soo the small things, lol.

So off to bed and hopefully everyone is treating themselves very well and putting themselves first on this first day of October and I'll catch you all tomorrow :)

Tummy- I am so limited with my aircast on what I can do it is driving me crazy. I did nothing Tuesday and Wednesday and decided today to get off my rear and try and figure out what I can manage. I did the P90x arms and shoulders today and was able to do most of it except the chair dips and the one handed pushups where you lie on your side. I also threw in some TurboJam Abs which worked really well. The hardest thing I think will be cardio. Not sure what I am going to do there. I look forward to continue to hear about your progress!

Well, the first day went well. The chicken soup was delicious (I put like 12 cloves of garlic in it LOL), unfortunately I never know the exact calories when I make soup but I'm sure I stayed within my limit. I did a 45 minute yoga DVD then later did the kids fitness DVD (with my kids) and while it wasn't an extreme workout, it did get me sweating so that's a good thing.

Tummy Thank you! It was taken during our vacation in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Specifically at Newfound Gap which is on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. We were at an elevation of over 5000 feet, which is not much compared to some of the mountains in other parts of the country but its the highest I've ever been LOL. It was very beautiful.

D- 2 tacos

water- 8 glasses

Thankfully today will be better since there's more to eat in the house now.

Good Morning ladies!

Well, looks like I made it through the move and didn't lose any games, booze or children in the process, so I'm full of win. I guess I'll be back to checking back in and getting back to routine come Monday as I should be completely done by then. I hope you all have been well. Well gotta get the boys off to school. We are not transferring, as my grandfather offered to take them and pick them up from their old school...so, ya know. Only four more days and they will be on fall break for ten days, so I think I am gonna try to convince them transferring isn't the worst thing in the world. Also picked up Halloween costumes for the boys and myself yesterday. I'm going as a Nun this year...in fish net stockings.. Well I haven't been OP, however, it will be interesting to see if I have lost anything, while not counting calories and exercising for the past few weeks. I'm gonna down the water today and over the weekend and just remain hopeful that I at least lost something...that will be full of win as well. And would mean, that I can at least maintain or lose without being completely OCD about doing so. Well gotta run...somebody write me in for five pounds this month dangit. Erm...I'll weigh in Monday...when I find my scale. ;) You ladies have a great day.

Helloooo Chickies!

I'm down another lb this morning, putting me at 20 lbs lost. Just 5 more lbs until I'm halfway to my first big goal... halfway to 50 lbs. It seems crazy that I'll lose 50 lbs and whenever I say that number to my MIL she always says something like "that's quite a lot" as though she doesn't think I'll make it. To her I say "oh behave!" I'm totally going to make it! Also, you will note the presence of yet another dancing fattie. Just thinking about 4 of those 5 lbs of fat models gets me all tingly inside... I've lost THAT much crapola out of my body! WooHoo!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

shasha and jellofer You two snuck in while I was posting yesterday and I didn't notice until now! I have the same thing to say to both of you: YOU ROCK :carrot: Nice job on the weight loss!!

mystical I hope kicking the soda does the trick for you. I know some people have problems with caffeine and weight loss, maybe you'll get a big WHOOSH of lbs! Good luck with your October goals!

Imdedicated Haha, don't let Tummy scare you about Sandye, she's at the point now where she'd use her gps and RUN to come find you instead of using the car... you'd have plenty of time to make a quick get-away!

nello Geesh! At that rate you'd have made goal by the 7th of October! Here's hoping your body races towards this new goal just as fast!

FSA It's good to have you back!

ruth Hey, losing a pound is much better than gaining... so all in all I'd say you're still doing pretty well! I love your photo! Also, thanks for the reminder on upping my vit C, I usually forget to do that until it's too late!

ShrinkingAmy Congrats on finishing day 1 of C25k!

jen Man, eating well on the weekends IS tough. I have, however, put some time and effort into finding low calorie ways to make the big breakfasts. My DH LOVES breakfast and so not having a big Sunday breakfast for him just isn't possible. I've currently got him hooked on breakfast sandwiches and while his come in at a bit over 400 calories each, I've managed to get mine down to around 200 using light bread, vegetarian sausage, no cheese and egg beaters. I do forgo the hash browns but I also give myself a heaping bowl of fruit. Also, pancakes are easy to dish out in the proper proportion and there are a ton of different mixes out there and lite syrup as always although sometimes I find honey on my pancakes to be fantastic. I also find myself not having my snacks on the weekend (usually due to being busy), this means I have larger meals over all which really works for me, it feels "naughty" enough that I feel as though I'm cheating when I'm really not. I don't have a lot of advice about the alcohol as I've pretty much given up drinking for a variety of reasons and, while I thought I'd eventually pick it back up again, I'm really not so sure anymore. Whew! Hope some of that book was helpful!

idream I wish my DH would eat spinach... that turkey roll sounds great! BTW, I'm still in awe of you reaching goal and I was telling my DH about you last night and he pretty much thinks you're incredible. And when I told him you started C25K at the same time as me and how FAST you're running he pretty much is sure you're super woman's secret alter ego.

Tummy I had to laugh at your "fat to a power of 2" I never thought of it like that, but now that I have... I can't get it out of my mind and it is CRACKING ME UP. Yeah, as dull as the treadmill is after running outside (and inconvenient as it's at my in-laws) it's been nice to finally gauge speed and not run in the pitch black. I'll be eager to get back outside again come spring, but I think it will be good for me this winter.

Delphi "didn't lose any games, booze or children" HAHAHAHAHA That's hilarious! It's good to see you again and I'm so glad things are going well for you! Fishnet stockings! Woohoo you hottie!

Ok, I must get some work done! Have a great day!

Good morning chickies!

The sun is shining, the leaves are turning color..its a perfect day for a nice fall hike in the woods...

I hav come to realize that i have a eating scheule problem..suggestion on how to fix this would be great...

as some know, my dh is gone ntil next november, so 13 more months, and i am on my own raising 4 very active children. With that being said, i have no problem eating breakfast, cause that usually consistes of a protien shake, lunch is fine..but once 335pm come and the kids get off that bus...crazy breaks out..and i am always out delieverying kids to sports activities....we are talking about 29 activities a week, and soon more once snow hits...so i dont eat supper, they do, cause i make sure that they are taken care of, but when they are eating im, either getting ready for the next activity, or cleaning, or checking homework...then at 10pm at night when i get "me" time..im starving! and we all know its bad to eat late at night, so i grab a protien shake or a banana...

scale said i was down .7 today, but thats likley cause yesterday consited of a protien shake, a 6inch subway sub, and a handful of grapes while in bed watching tv...but did drink my water..

hopefully more food today!

Im going to chop the last of my flowers, and laundry, then me time in the woods....see you all tommorow morning, have a great day!!

Hey Ladies,

I'll be coming back to do personals later, but I have a dog following me around looking expectantly for a walk. Forgot to weigh myself this morning and yesterday morning, and by the time I remembered I was eating breakfast. XD I know my weights probably up do to this cold I have. Luckily I only have one class today and my best friend will be coming over to hang out. Despite the cold, I feel rather OK. But after I walk these guys, I'll probably be exhausted!

I'll be on later for personals!

We Can Do It Ladies!

Good Morning Girlies and Happy Friday to you ALL!!! (that guy is in honor of SG's new Dancing Fatty!!! :D)

Susie~ man, bummer about the gain, but I'm sure it'll come right off! You've got a new attitude and it's a Brand New Month!! Woo Hoo!!!

Cle~ I promise I'm not going to come hunt you down and beat you for not drinking your water--really! Don't let the girls scare you, there's definitely NO way I'd attempt running to Brooklyn! :lol3:

Mom~ how's Darth today? Did you throw him through a wall yesterday as punishment? If I know you, you'll just keep on keepin' on and tell ol' Darth to kiss it! :D Is it November yet?!?! Thanks for the help on the mini-meatloaf recipe last night--the kids LOVED it, even the girls ate it!! :woohoo: They ate something, they really ate something!! ;)

Ang~ Hey you!!!! I was thinking about you last week and wondering how you were! It's great to see you back!! How is everything? How's your dd? 17 vials? Holy smokes, that's crazy!! I hope she's doing well!! So glad you're back hun! :) As for your eating schedule--wow girlie, you need to take care of yourself in there somewhere! Hmm...what about when the kids are at school? Can you precook some chicken breasts maybe so you have something to eat while the kids are eating? I tend to do that so dinnertime is less hectic--I'm with ya, as soon as the boys walk in the door its crazyville around here! And that's without activities!! You also need to be aiming for some snacks in there somewhere--maybe set a timer for every 2-3 hrs so that you remember to eat something? But other than that, I say just try to cook stuff in bulk (like the chicken) and precook meals as much as you can.

econ nerd~ nice to see you back too girlie!! Good luck on your goals this month!! :)

Tummy~ the master--:lol3: Oh that's just too much! If I was the master at maintaining, I wouldn't have ever gotten overweight in the first place! ;) I'm just taking it one day at a time and keeping my fingers crossed! How was the run this morning? I hope you didn't freeze! Man, I was chilly yesterday and it was in the 40's! I don't know how you do it! If you had a treadmill, would you run inside? I mean, 90 mins outside is long, but I'm thinking 90 mins on a treadmill would be forever!!! Kwim? That's my big worry this Winter--that if I move it back inside that I'll end up quitting because of boredom. We'll see I guess huh? So jealous of your cawfee tawk time you had yesterday! That sounds wonderful!!!

Nella~ Hmm, pumpkin baking you say? You're going to have to share what/how you do that one of these days! I love baking--any type! :D As for the reward...it's funny, when I set my goal I thought I'd reward myself with a shopping spree or a huge gourmet dinner out (or both ) and now that I'm here...I haven't given either of those things a thought--until now. I bet you'll find that just feeling fantastic about what you've accomplished will be reward enough! However, that certainly doesn't mean you don't deserve a reward of some kind!! Shopping, a day or weekend at a spa, a girls' weekend away maybe? Oooh, all those sound good to me! :D

Jellofer~ you did awesome last month!!! Good luck on your goal this month hun!! :)

Shasha~ look at you just melting away! I'm with Tummy, I bet that feels great after your ups and downs last month! I'll post the link to the recipe here in a sec for ya, one thing I can tell you though--it needs more spices!!! It was lacking a little 'oomph' kwim?

SG~ okay, I am soooo glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read your post this morning! RUN to find Cle?! RUN?!?! Hahahahaha--you were right about one thing though, if I were crazy enough to that--she'd have PLENTY of time to hide from me! Heck, she'd have plenty of time to knit a sweater, tour France, take a pottery class and I'd still only be a 1/4 of the way there! :lol3: Tell your hubby thank you. :) That is awfully sweet of him to say. I think you're pretty darn amazing too though--finding time to teach and everything that goes along with that, take care of your home & hubby and then busting your ever shrinking hiney to take care of yourself too! Now that's what I call awesome! Btw, :woohoo: on the panties girlie! New sizes are the best! And ya know what? The first new size is often the hardest one to get to--after you drop one size it seems like before you know it, the new clothes will be too small and you'll have to buy new smaller clothes! That's why Goodwill is the BEST!! ;) Congrats too on your new Dancing Fatty!!! 20 lbs is a huge accomplishment and you are well on your way to 50 lbs lost for sure!! And I have no doubt that you'll do it hun, no doubt at all! :)

Mystical~ congrats on deciding to kick the Pepsi!! Sounds like you're well on your way to your goal--planning out your meals and putting it on the fridge--what a smart idea! I still haven't planned out anything this week--I really need to! And when I do, I'm gunna stick it on the fridge!!! :D Hope your day wasn't too crazy yesterday, I can only imagine how tough doing the books must be! Be sure to drink your water today hun!! :)

sotypical~ congrats on your loss last month!! Good luck on your goal this month!! :)

Taurie~ oooh, chips are the devil! Especially the lime tortilla ones...grrr! I could plow through a whole bag back in the day! Probably still could if let myself. The weekends can be really tough!! It used to be that hubby would talk me into cheating every weekend without fail. I even used to allow myself a cheat day every week so I could kind of combat it, but it usually backfired an started a week long eating bonanza. This time around I just had to stick it out and tell hubby that I couldn't cheat if I wanted to do this. I had to stay on plan 100% of the time or I would revert back to my old ways--I'm a bit on the OCD side about this can you tell? Now that doesn't mean he didn't try, but after a couple of months he finally got the message and quit trying to sway me. I do 'cheat' now though--but I don't consider it cheating. I plan for eating off plan. Birthdays, for instance, are non-negotiable. I will have cake!!! However, if we're bbq'ing or there's snacks before cake--I won't have at it. I'll snack on healthy stuff or be sure to eat before I go and just stick with the cake. :D I have my priorities! ;) So, my advice is to let your family know that getting healthy is important to you and that you'd like their support. Let them know that having all those tempting snacks around isn't going to help you. Perhaps they'll surprise you and decide to join you in ditching the chips! :) But be prepared for resistance...and just be as strong as you can. If you do slip up, just pick yourself up and dust yourself off--tomorrow is another day!!! :)

Kitgetsfit~ welcome to the group! Good luck on your goals this month!! :)

Nello~ woo hoo! What a way to start out the month!!! Now see, I'd take that and make it count for this month, cuz I'm bad like that! Hope you're able to figure out a good cardio routine to do with your aircast! I don't have a single idea for you besides maybe swimming? Or water aerobics? Hang in there hun, how long are you going to be wearing it again?

princess jen~ welcome aboard! Good luck on your goal this month!!

FSA~ Heya hun! Thanks again for starting us up and updating the lists and such!! Have a great day girlie!

Ruth~ awww, what a beautiful family!! Thanks, I hope you're right about the 5K--I'm getting all nervous and stuff! Your soup sounds yummy! I love me some garlic!!! Mmmm!! Congrats on losing last month! Sure, it wasn't as much as you wanted, but you LOST!!! And you're here again starting a new month off right! That's what counts!! :)

Amy~ congrats on starting the C25K!!! I was nervous about starting it and skeptical that I could run 30 mins straight within 9 weeks, but it worked!!! The guy who developed that plan is a genius as far as I'm concerned! :) You'll find lots of girls here who've done the plan, so feel free to ask questions if you have any! :)

Jen7~ WTG on the great first day!!! As for the weekends, if you read my reply to Taurie you'll see how I made it through the weekends. :) Keep up the great work!!

helpmelose (I'm going to call you HML for short :D)~ Love your attitude!!! Bring on October!!! Woo hoo!!!

rachiru~ this is a great bunch of girls!! I will forever be thankful I found this site and this wonderful group!!! Good luck on your goals this month!! :)

ButterflyDiva~ looking forward as always to seeing your yummy meals!!! Good luck on your goals this month!! :)

DELPHI~ Welcome Back hun!!! Oh I'm so glad your move went smoothly!!! Hope the unpacking goes just as smooth! That's great that your Grandpa volunteered to take the boys to school. Oh man, it's good to have you back!!! :D :carrot: :woohoo:

Molly~ hope you're feeling better soon! Colds are just plain rotten! Have a good walk with the dogs and a good day at school too! :)

Whew! Man that took a long time! Well, not much to report here on my end. Just pluggin' along. Scale was up a little today, 134.2 or 134.4--I can't remember. Got my workouts in this morning and got a shower in before the girls woke up, so you know that made me a happy camper! ;)

Was supposed to take the girls to open gym today, but time got away from me and I wasn't really wanting to do it anyway. I feel like I've been running around all week and I just want to stay in today and get the house taken care of. We have ds' party on Sunday and since we'll be busy tomorrow with the 5K and then going out for ds' Birthday dinner (at some pizza party Chuck E. Cheese type place) I'm not going to have a lot of time to clean or anything besides today. Joy.

I picked up a brace for my knee yesterday and I hate it. I mean, it seems to be doing it's job, but ugh...I forgot how much I hated running with those things on! But, if it prevents another dislocated knee cap, I'll wear the dang thing.

Okay, here's the link to the recipe I made last night: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spinach-Turkey-Roll/Detail.aspx

For the bread crumbs, I assumed they meant process fresh bread in food processor (since it calls for 'soft' bread crumbs) so that's what I did--2 slices equals 1 cup. I didn't have ground mustard so I didn't add that and I used fat free mozzarella instead of part-skim. Other than upping the garlic, adding onion & garlic powder and pepper to the recipe, I followed it pretty much to a T--oh wait, I also upped the temp on the oven to 375 to speed up the cooking a bit since I had other stuff in the oven. My only other advice is--if you like it spicier--add more spice, this one was kind of on the bland side, however, I ran out of oregano so that could be part of it. ;)

Okay, well, as mentioned, my house needs to be cleaned so I guess I better get up off my butt and do it huh?

Hope everyone has a great day and be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!
:D

Good morning girls!

Delphi So glad the move went well and so glad that you're back! And that's great that your grandfather is taking the boys to school. Here's hoping for a loss(or at least maintenance) come Monday :crossed:

Nella I'm sure that gain is just water weight, it will be gone in no time.

Butterflydiva

SG :carrot: Woohooo! 20lbs lost, that's awesome! I'm hoping to get there this month and be able to add another 5lb smilie. I think it is a great accomplishment. And thanks for the compliment on my avatar, I kind of got tired of the doggy pic.

angel I don't have much advice on an eating schedule except if it was me I would have to cut out some of the activities. I've decided around my house that getting healthy has to take priority over some things, like a spic and span house LOL. I do my best but sometimes dishes are left or something.

missmalleeGlad your're not feeling too bad considering having a cold. Have fun with your friend!

Sandye I almost missed your post. Thanks for the compliment, I do think we have a great family :) I love garlic too, I add it to almost everything. It can take a while to chop up though so yesterday I got out my food processer and chopped the garlic and sliced the carrots and celery with it. That saved me a little time. It seems like slicing and chopping veges can take forever sometimes. I'm going to go check out your recipe!

Catch you gals later!

Morning Ladies,

Nello - yes cardio will be interesting, even just trying to think of something I'm having a hard time too. Can you stand on it? Maybe doing Kenpo without the kicks, there's a lot of arm movement in that and if you did the horse stance would that bother the heel? Good for you doing the videos though, I think I might have gone crazy too if I had to sit there without being able to do anything. Glad you're still keping it up, it will sure make it easier to get back into things while you're rehabing.

Ruth - It's gorgeous there, I've never been to that part of the states before. We're headed to Oklahoma in May for a wedding and I'm trying to find some nice outdoorsy things to do while we're down there. It's a bit more east than we intend to go but I have an aunt in Jacksonville that we might go see so I will write that down as an idea. It's high enough I'm sure, lol, we have the massive Rocky Mountains only 2 hours west here so we're used to the gigantic moutains but even the small ones are beautiful.

Butterflydiva - Don't you love it when all there is in the house is odds and ends, lol, you end up having soup with asparagus and apples or some nonesense, it's grand.

Delphi - You're connected! Oh thank heaven, I missed you love. So glad the move is almost done, and all the important things made it over. What a sweet offer from grandpa too but it sure would be easier if the boys could take the bus. So how's the new place working out?

Nella - Your body and my body are doing the same thing. Everything just the way it should and adding some weight, it's what makes it so challenging and that's why only us strong ones survive it!

SG - So your MIL can just kiss your cute little butt then I guess, lol, sometimes ppl just don't hear how negative they sound. I had those looks too when ppl would ask and I'd throw out the 80lbs number and it was like that it had never been done in the history of the world or something. Now those ppl ask me for nutrition and workout advice :smug: hehe. Congrats on the FATTY!!! You know, I never thought about it like that, cleansing the crap out of the body, it's kinda gross and awesome all at the same time.

Ang - That's a tricky situation, my only thought would be to have your dinner ready prior to them getting off the bus or if need be eating it before they get home and then having a snack later in the evening. And if the bathroom doesn't get clean because you sit down for dinner we won't tell on you :)

Miss Mallee - Have fun with the dogs and take care of yourself with that cold!

Sandye - LOL cawfee tawk, that's an awesome throw back. Well by the time I get off my last 20lbs here, you'll have had at least a few months of maintenance under your belt to help us neebies start off. We did know how to maintain fat though, I was sooo good at that. The run was chilly but I had my mittens, my toque and many layers and you really don't sweat too much b/c it freezes. It was just below freezing today so not terrible, I think that's high 20's in your scale. I went an extra minute even just to make it to the stop sign and it was pretty good. I became aware of my knees at minute 77 but they didn't hurt I just knew that they were there, so that was load off. And I really don't know if I'd come inside yet, there's no snow, I have at the most a month before we're up to our knees but it could be sooner, that's going to be the real test for me. We're trying to brainstorm other ideas about how to get the runs in but nothing definite yet. I'm just going to push it as far as I can manage and I'll likely reduce my time outside to avoid frostbite which is why I'm working on distance so much right now. Well it is Friday after all, get cleaning! I'll be joining you with that right after the post office run.

I happen to be feeling pretty good following that 91 minute run this morning, although I have yet to try and get up from this chair so we'll see if that holds true. It actually was pretty good, at minute 34 I felt like it should be minute 74 but it got better from there, the body held out just fine and I managed to do the last two miles faster than the rest so all in all a very successfull morning, not to mention the 1200 calories that it burnt woohoo! I seem to be much better at distance stuff than speed things, Monday I do speed intervals and it's just so much harder for me than these monster Friday runs. I guess that's why we need to work on all parts of fitness.

The scale was up again this morning another 0.4 162.6. Something funkys going on but with all the weird cycle stuff I've got going on (or not going on more like it) all bets are off I guess. And today's a high calorie day to support the 2 hours and 40 minutes of exercise today. Well I better get going to the post office and then it's onto cleaning the pig sty. TTFN

Helloooo Chickies!

I'm down another lb this morning, putting me at 20 lbs lost.

Congrats on the lb lost!!! :carrot:

New Month!! Woo Hoo!!!

Cle~ I promise I'm not going to come hunt you down and beat you for not drinking your water--really! Don't let the girls scare you, there's definitely NO way I'd attempt running to Brooklyn! :lol3:

Lol I need to lose this weight so it's ok if you run to Brooklyn!!! lol ;)

The scale is down a pound this morning, yay! I'm back down to where I was early September. Lets hope its for real this time.

Tummy I would love to go out west and see the Rockys and the Grand Canyon. I don't know if we'll ever be able to but if we ever drastically reduce our number of animals maybe it will be possible. We just can't leave for very long and expect someone to take care of so many animals and milk a goat lol. My sister and her family was able to do it this time but it was only for three days but she wouldn't be able to do it for much longer than that. I've told dh sometimes I wish we could get rid of all the animals and life would be so much more simpler.

Shrinking Amy- How was your first day of C25k? I swear I will finally start one of these days once I get a little motivated like a lot of you. Hope it was great. I'm sure you will be running in no time! Good luck on tracking everything. Once you get the hang of it, it will be addicting.

jen7- I would say on weekends, try to limit the amount of times you eat out. Thats one of the reasons I was having trouble losing overall, the weekends can stall all the hardwork during the week. Maybe eat one meal out. If you are meeting up with friends, eat before hand so you don't overindulge.

helpmelrose- I love the start of a month. You have the entire month for all your goals.

rachiru- Glad you had an awesome first day! I like your avatar, its cute and it makes me smile. :)

tummy- I know I say this quite often, but you are amazing girl! 90 min run?? I think I die after a 90 min walk, lol. And you did it in freezing cold weather. Such determination.

nello- Well I commend you for doing something even with your cast. A lot of people would probably just stop working out altogether.

ruth- your soup sounds delicious! I love garlic. Glad to hear your scale is going downwards.

butterflydiva- mmmm frozen grapes. I am also craving tacos now after reading your post.

Delphi- Well hey there :D. We missed you in here and glad to see you checking in. I'm happy to hear that things are falling into place. Your halloween costume sounds cute. I still have no clue what I'm going to be.

nella- I wouldn't worry about the scale. Fluctuations are normal, its not always going to be a downward trend. Keep chugging ahead.

SG- Congrats on the 20lbs lost! And yay for being almost halfway. You joined in July, so does that mean that you have lost 20lbs since July? Either way, thats amazing. I can't wait until I exceed 10lbs. Thats when it starts getting real for me.

canadian angel - Wow thats a lot of hard work raising 4 kids! I'm sure with all your hardwork, your DH won't even recoginze you next year when you are a little skinny mini.

miss mallee- hehe I read your post really fast and I thought you just had a random dog following you around.

Sandye- Thanks for the recipe! I love that website. That pic of it looks so yummy! So I wonder if I can skip the bread crumbs. Its not South Beach friendly, well atleast for another week. Eh, I can just wait I suppose. And please be careful with your knee. A dislocated anything sounds horrendous.

Imdedicated- Congrats on your loss girlie!

As for me, I can finally add another monkey thingie to my signature. I'm FINALLY down 10lbs. So I need to lose another 5 to meet my October goal. But if by next week I hit 242, I might go ahead and change my goal to 237. We will see :). Nothing new to report, just happy that its Friday. Don't quite know what I have going on this weekend. I think my friend wants to go to the pumpkin patch.

Nella

Tummy - Always good to know I'm not alone. I'll just call it "muscle gain" and accept it, lol. The old jeans are fitting, so that is way more important! Below freezing you say?!? Wow, it's in the low 80's/ high 70's here and I'm wearing a sweatshirt, no lie.

CanadianAngel - WoW!! You have a hectic life! I thought it was bad with 2 teenagers running around, but 4 kids! Whew, I'm worn out just reading about your day. Personally, I think the eating late thing is a myth. Calories in vs. calories out is what I go by. But that's just my opinion.

Ruth - WAHOO!! Now you show October you mean business!

Shrinking Girl - Congrats on making 20 down!! You'll be at goal before you know it!

Shasha - WAHOO!! for you too!! That 10 pound mark made me feel like I was actually getting somewhere.

Sandye - I love to bake. And now it's more of a chore for me than it used to be because I have to pretty much make everything from scratch fro DH. He is gluten intolerant, so I have to make bread, muffins, etc from scratch that he can eat. He found out in May, so we're still learning. One of his favorites is pumpkin bread, so I found this recipe I think I am going to try soon. http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2008/11/pumpkin-chai-bread-with-cranberries.html I'm sure you can modify a regular pumpkin bread recipe to add the chai and cranberries. The GF flours are expensive and higher in calories. Then I'm going to try this one http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Pumpkin-Turkey-Chili/Detail.aspx just to be daring!

Well, this morning was disappointing for me like I said, but oh well. I'm OP today and saving most of my calories for date night with DH :) Pad Thai here I come!!! This day is dragging so bad for some reason, must be because I am looking forward to a night alone with hubby ;) I love my step daughters, but sometimes I am glad they go to their mom's house on the weekend. It gives us a nice break after having them all week.

Just finished my first week on Insanity. YAY I survived. I haven't had dinner yet but I figured I post my menu now seeing as though I know exactly what I'll be having.

B- Peach oatmeal; milk; wheat bread with strawberry jam
S- Cinnamon apple sauce; 1/4 cup dried cranberries
L- Slimfast Chocolate monkey shake
S- String Cheese
D- Chicken cranberry salad (1 chicken breast; dried cranberries, lettuce; feta cheese, balasmic dressing
S- Baked apples

Water - 8 glasses

I actually planned on having the chicken for lunch today but never got the chance to cook it because I'm obsessed with this site called smart.fm. I using it to learn Japanese since I love the music, movies, and anime of the country. I've always been a terrible learner but the words are actually staying with me and I'm having fun with it.

shasha - Day 1 of c25k was GREAT! THanks for asking! One of the best parts is that it's my "me time!" I can't even take a shower without watching that my 20mo old stays out of the bathroom trash! I'm looking forward to day 2 this weekend. My days are T/Tr/Sat or Sun. I figured I'd be flexible on the Sat/Sun run so that I can work it in depending on the weekend plans and have no excuse to miss it.

Today has been fine so far... but we're going out for Mexican this evening. My hopes is to not stuff myself so full I can't work out tonight after LO goes to bed!

What is a slimfast chocolate monkey shake???

Just finished my first week on Insanity. YAY I survived. I haven't had dinner yet but I figured I post my menu now seeing as though I know exactly what I'll be having.

What is a slimfast chocolate monkey shake???

Simply it's just 1 scoop of slimfast milk chocolate powder, 1 small banana smashed, 3/4 cup fat free milk and 3 or 4 ice cubes blended.

Hey everyone. Still using the iPod to at least check in. The computer is going to head up to get fixed though so hopefully I'll have it back in a few weeks. Am still having TOM but I think this week three is going to be the last one. If not might have to give in and go to the doctor and figure out what is going on. Gave up dieting the past few days though and tried to eat extra calories to try and get my body back on track. Didn't want to check the scale today since it has been a jerk these past 3 weeks since TOM arrived. Might check tomorrow or might wait till if goes away. Anywho hope everyone is doing good!

Evening all,

Taurie - Truer words have never been spoken, if it's going to hurt tomorrow then it better be good.

Cle - Sandye was our resident drill sergent for awhile so we like to bug her but she's the best tough love we have around here :)

Ruth - Ya I would imagine that a goat could get in the way of traveling, I found a dog to be difficult and I can't imagine a whole yard full of critters. That sounds like tons of work but it must be worth it in the long run or you probably won't have them still right? Maybe once the kids are grown up and you guys can sow some wild oats.

Shasha - It's only bad at the beginning when you have the whole thing ahead of you, otherwise it's pretty nice, time to think and it's really the longest I get by myself. I've come to guard my workout time very closely. OMGoodness, another pound you're rocking it again. That must feel awesome, WTG!

Nella - yes let's call it muscle! I don't have high hopes for tomorrow either as it's my 1800+ calorie day today and I usually stay the same the next day. Oh well just keep on keeping on. Ohh have fun on date night! I hear ya, step daughters or not, it's nice when bio daughters go somewhere for the weekends too ;)

Jenn5366 - Welcome, and most certainly make yourself comfy and jump right in.

Brook506 - Welcome to you too! Always nice to have some new folks to spice up the general chitty chat.

FitGirlyGirl - By all means! And you're soon to be in the oh so wonderful 100 land! That must be super exciting, can't wait to celebrate that with you.

Butterfly diva - Well that looks a little less creative than yesterday, lol, but very yummy nonetheless. So how are you enjoying insanity? I'm thinking that might be a Chirstmas wish list item for me but wondering if it's really as hard as it looks.

Amy - Have fun out for dinner, yes, mexican and working out could be interesting, let us know how that goes, lol.

Jessicado - Glad you popped in despite the teeny tiny screen size and here's hoping those computer ppl get it up and running right away we need ya back!

A delightful neighbour dropped by a huge bag of apples and another of carrots from her garden today so it was trying to figure out what the heck to make with it all and not taunt myself too bad with apple pie. So i found some apple muffins for 113 calories a piece, 3g of fat and that's with oil too. I tried them according to recipe and maybe next time I can try Sandye's applesauce trick and lower them even more but the applesauce I'm making from the bag isn't done yet so maybe next batch. I think maybe a carrot bread tomorrow and if I manage not to eat it all.

Night all!

Tummy The goats I think are worth it because the milk is very valuable to me, its very hard to get raw milk if you don't have your own animals. Raw milk (especially goat's) has major health benefits. The rest I wish we didn't have anymore, except maybe my cats :) Since the kids schooling is more involved than it was when they were smaller, I find I just don't have the time for everything and it can it quite stressful sometimes. We raise European German Shepherds too, as a hobby, most our dogs are imports. They are working line dogs for police officers, trainers, and people who want an excellent family pet. There is a ton of time involved in it, not just the taking care of the dogs, but all the paperwork, website, emails, etc, etc. Before our vacation I was starting to really get stressed because my husband kept pressuring me on getting a paperwork situation resolved on some puppies that we had where the breeding had taken place in Holland and I was doing everything I could and I felt like I was about to break. The vacation really helped. Anyway, I'm rambling, thanks for listening lol!

Today went very well, got plenty of exercise in and calories are good. Hope to see something good on the scale in the morning. I'm going to have to be careful tomorrow, I was planning on making a homemade healthy pizza and salad but MIL wants to have a cook out I think (we'll actually do the cooking, she supplies the meat). My in-laws live next door. Well, we have 9 acres and they have 9 acres so we're not right next to each other but maybe a couple football fields distance. It has its advantages...and disadvantages lol.

See you girls in the morning!

Hey, they can't all be winners. lol.
To be perfectly honest. Yes. Insanity is hard, it's the most difficult workout I've ever done and I'm use to high intensity. That being said it's so worth it and fun too. You are encouraged to take small breaks when needed (in fact the people in the video will stop mid rep to rest) but it pushes you very hard. But again it's worth it and you feel so much better afterwards.

Here's my planned menu for today. I'll be back later to post my water.

B- Blueberry oatmeal; wheat bread with jam (I'm on an oatmeal kick right now)
S- mixed veggies; 1 small banana
L Turkey sandwich with mustard, lettuce and tomoto; cinnamon apple sauce
S- String cheese; apple
D- Tomato-cucumber salad; baked chicken with peanut sauce
S- chocolate dipped strawberries

Saynde running for 91 mins is inspiring! I can do about 5 km and I think I was doing well!!
Thanks for all the weekend advice, I just have to stay focused! I dont find it so bad when its just me and the bf and baby, but when we have his kids too oh boy, smores, drinks, and hotdogs at the cabin! So it just so happened the ex wanted to switch weekends, so I dont have so many worries! But it will be there next weekend! I was OP yesterday, and followed exercises too. I got on the scale and 167.2! I might actually change my goal to 160...maybe I shouldn't be so wishful! But who knows! Have a good weekend girls!

Good morning!!!

Welcome to all the new chicks. Glad you joined our challenge. These are great.

Delphi:hug: :carrot: congrats on the move and maintaining sanity. I know when we moved we were under the same conditions as you were, but it was still enough to make we want to commit myself for a few days.

Shrinkinggirl  thanks for your kind words. Congrats on hitting the 20 lb mark!!! It is a great feeling.

Canadian Angel I have to agree with Idream. I don't have kids, but I work 12 hour shifts as an RN plus have class 2 days a week. When I have a group of days together that I know I wont have anytime for, I precook and then measure out into little plastic containers. Cut veggies into single portions and also place into little containers. That was I grab what I need and am good to go. My family would laugh when I would cook 3 pounds of chicken breast at a time, but then it lasts me for a few days. When I could eat bread, I would pick up 2 foot longs at subway without any vinegar or dressing and then wrap them in individual bags so that I had a couple of meals.

Tummygirl A 91 miunte run!!!! YOu are my new hero!!!!

Taurie I agree with you 100%!!! If you are gonna go off plan make it really count. Not just some Doritos, but something really spectacular. For me doing the low carb/hi protein there are many times. Yesterday at work they were trying to get me to eat m & m's so not worth the 27 pounds that I have lost. That was a great feeling to say no and mean it. I really didn't want them at all.

Nello Great adjustments using your videos. I had a cast on for 4 weeks last summer and it sucked. I just sort of gave up until it came off. You are perservering!!!

Helloooo Chickies!

Well, the internet has decided to temporarily behave so after obsessively updating my facebook status and checking my email, reading through all the posts on here and looking up calorie information for the trip today I've decided to test my luck and post! I know, I'm a wild wild woman. :D

TOM is here and oddly enough I'm down a lb from yesterday which means I've seen 205.8 on the scale.. too soon to call it 205 since it's not .5 or below but man is that exciting. I weigh myself a couple times a day because I like to see the high/low fluctuations and man is it crazy to step on at my "high" time of day and be expecting 212 or 211 like I've been seeing for what seems like forever and to see 208. It makes me all giddy.

I guess you could say 199 is my first mini goal because I've promised myself I can buy a new pair of eye glasses when that happens and I'm overly excited about that, let me tell ya. Not that I don't love my current ones, but I'm feeling more confident and I'm thinking about doing a hair/glasses change.

OH!!! I almost forgot! Since I've been running out of clothes I can wear, I went shopping last night for some shirts and I bought 2.... both an XL in a REGULAR store. I modeled one of them for my husband last night and he was like "omg that makes you look TINY" I love his delusional mind! ;) On the way home we were talking and he said "you haven't gone clothes shopping in a store in a really long time" and then he stopped and thought about it and said "woah, you haven't gone shopping for clothes in a store since our honeymoon." And he was right. That's almost 4 years ago. So I'm feeling GREAT! Ok, before I write a full novel here, I'd better get on to personals!

canadianangel Wow, 13 more months without your DH, kudos to you for dealing so well! As far as eating, I plan plan plan. Whenever I have a spare moment, I plan my meals pretty obsessively and I'm always packaging things the night before so I don't even have to think about my meals during the next day because if I had to stop and think about it... it wouldn't get done. Usually I take about half an hour right before bed and do all my planning, prepping and packaging. I'd suggest finding a time that works for you and doing the same so all you have to do is watch the time, grab and go!

MissMallee Colds suck! I hope you feel better soon, don't forget to drink plenty of fluids and you'll be feeling better in no time! How's school going?

idream Aww shucks, you say the nicest things! Thank you! I've got some girlfriends who are good will fanatics and they find the best stuff and I've always declined going with them since I have always been afraid I won't find anything to fit me... maybe I should say YES one of these days! I hear ya about the knee brace, I hate running in it, but since I've put it on I really have seen all of my knee problems disappear so I grin and bear it. And finally... GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR 5K!!! You're likely running it right now! I'm so excited for you!! Let us know how you did! And show us a picture of you running through the finish line!

Tummy My true colors shine through when I read about your 90 minute run. Instead of thinking "man, what an accomplishment" I started thinking "man, if I can work up to that... think of all the food I'd be able to eat in maintenance after a run like that!" I'll need to find that little node in my brain and make sure it means HEALTHY food and not a bag of chips and a beer! Congrats on the run though, you've motivated me to think past my 30 minute accomplishment and strive for more!

shasha I joined 3FC in July but I started my whole weight loss journey around June 16. It's been a progression though. For the first 2 weeks I just focused on working out at Curves. After that I began to count calories and boy oh boy did I eat crap at first too! 100 calorie packs of cookies, chips, crackers. I lost 2 lbs the first month and was devastated. So then in July I had my birthday and my surgery which means I ate like crap for 2 weeks. Lost 4 lbs in July though because I really cracked down the last half of the month. And now I'm averaging about 2 lbs a week. It's taken me a while to get here but it's much much easier now than it was in the beginning. I see you've started SB and I hope it works out for you! My family doctor was always trying to get me to start SB saying it's the way everyone should eat... after Atkins though, I really kind of decided I'll never go on another diet that tells me what to eat.... of course, I've done that one my own now... but it's alllll about the mindset!

Nella Thank you! I'm sorry you had a disappointing morning. I'm glad to know that someone else banks calories when they know they're going out! It's not that I starve myself all day, but I definitely don't eat any more than what I have to because I want to truly enjoy what I eat when I go out! I hope you enjoyed your pad tai!

jessicado It's good to see you check in! Can't wait until your computer problems are gone!

I think my internet is about to fritz out again so I'm going to cut my personals short. Welcome to all the new peeps and I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

Good Morning all you amazing chicks!!

well its 1031 am, and so far i have ran on the treadmill for 5km, taken both sons to hockey, 1 daughter done swimming lessons, and i managed to get in a protien shake for breakfast.

thank you for all the advise on how to get my food in on the run....i think that it has to do with planning, wich i do for the kids, but seems for me i am busy doing something else as they are eating....

i think after the rest of todays sports activities, we are going to to head to the beach for the day, it to cold for water, but playing in the sand is always fun.

hope everyone has a great day today!!!

well, I'm incredibly behind on posts but wanted to say hello! hope everyone has a great Saturday :)

I started logging my food and journaling again this week and though I've been a bit over, I've logged it so that has been something quite empowering! AND even thought I have been over... it has actually stopped me from going even MORE over in points (I do WW) because I am able to say to myself "do I really want that? because I'm going to have to LOG it!" that has stopped me several times!!

And though my official w/i day is Tuesday, I did take a sneak preview this morning and I still think that I will have a result in a few days. As of today it was 1.5KG lower than when I told you guys my weight last. that's more than 3 lbs! That's 5 days of tracking and 3 days of exercise so far (running). So, if that's not proof that this works, I don't know what is.

Anyway, I'll not get too excited over numbers yet... I've logged today as well so that's 6 days of my 3 month journalling challenge!

Morning Ladies,

Ruth - So that does sounds like crazy busy and where you find some you time in there must be pretty challenging. I see what you mean by less animals might be better right this very moment, that's a huge handful. A friend of ours raises german sheperds for poilce, seeing eye dogs, etc. and I know how busy he is and that's without all the other stuff you got going on. Hope your scale reflects all your hard work today! And lol about the in-laws, very true, very true.

Butterflydiva - Thanks for the review, I think I might have to get me some of that. I was kind of giong between the bonus p90x dvd's or insanity so here's hoping santa is kind :)

jen7 - Glad the weekend is going well and congrats on that lose, always aim high!

Jellofer - LOL, thanks so much, my butt and hamstrings don't not agree with my decision to run that far today but oh well, it was worth it.

SG - Oh how awesome! Shopping like a regular person, how incredible does that feel?!? Woohoo. And what an observant young man you're married too, most won't have even noticed that, lol. 6 pounds away, so close, can't wait :carrot: Oh my brain goes there too, yesterday was a super high day for calories and it was fun to try an fit everything in but that's the key the type of food makes all the difference, no beer in this belly for awhile! It was all veggies and wild rice and homemade soup but it was marvelous! I'm glad you're still pushing that run, it's funny how 30 minutes seemed like an eternity and then 60 minutes was the stuff of legend and I just finished an hour and a half and it was easier than the first 30 I ever did. The human body rocks!

Ang - Oh do have fun at the beach, we're well past that over here, even sand playing would freeze the fingers, I do envy your ontario weather! Great job getting your run in already even with all that going on.

Velveteen - That's fantastic in 5 days and even with eating a bit higher than you wanted! It's really the best thing this food journalling, I wish someone would have mentioned it years ago, lol.

Sandye - I guess your run might even be over already depending on the time, can't wait to see that picture of you all running with your arms in the air, Rocky style. I'm super proud of you and what a fantastic moment for your kids and husband, a fabulous example of how healthy and fit a mom can be and still raise 4 kids, just brilliant!

Hi everyone, I have been missing from the posts as work has been insane. I am going through getting new machines and they decided to do it while I am away at conference. This is something I need to be there for so the time and effort involved in teaching my staff and writing of "novel" of explantions has been crazy. I could have changed them out 4x over by the time I am done explaining everything. Then yesterday I get an email to back up the computer of customer files and documents as were getting a new one of that too. Seriously 1 day to back up 1000's of files. Yikes!!! Well 10hrs later and I got about 3/4 done and my mad up. But I am off to conference tomorrow and nothing else I can do but breath. Anyway enough ranting.
I will be MIA again in the next 5 days as I won't have computer access so right off the bat I want to say congratulations to all the losses so far and for all of those to come in the next 5 days. I am also going to be posting some different weights here as I am going by my new scale which is 4.6lbs heavier than my last one but seems to be accurate now. So I will look like I have gained since Sept but really I have not.
Wow apparently I am a rambler today.
I am down for the week 3.4lbs so yeah!!
Well have a great week everyone and hopefully in the second week I will be around everyday and can do some personals.

Hello Ladies. :)

Well, after miss a few days worth of posts, I have a huge list of personals for all of you. I think I started on page 4, FYI.

Beck1Beck Welcome back. :)

Sandye Congrats on the maintience eating. ;) How is that going? And WTG on the competive run. I really want to hear how that goes! Thanks. I actually allowed myself a reward Friday for something at school. I'll mention it below. I bring it up because I have a few ideas sprouting in my mind about recipes and such that I know you'll probably want to try with the holidays comming up. ;) As long as I keep up with cough drops (sugar free) and stuff for my sinuses, it's not too bad. And I completely understand the knee brace thing. I had to get some from the doc's office forever ago. They help hold my knee cap in place since mine is slightly off, which takes the pain away. But they were those pricey ones. -.- Oh, an have you tried cooking with fresh spices? For the Cook Yourself Thin recipes, they reccomend it and WOW. It makes a huge difference.

susiemartin You can loose those pounds. :)

Imdedicated I never said said welcome, so, welcome! And I know we can do this weight loss thing together. ;)

Late to the game you'll loose that 1.5, I'm sure of it. :) I completely know what you mean. I'm starting this month off sick, so of course the scale reads that I've gained. -.-

canadianangel Welcome back. :) 17 vials?? That an insane amount. I hope they weren't the really long ones. When I was terrified of needles, I had to have a lot of blood taken and when they showed me that vial my mother and I almost fainted. I think the best way to solve your food plan problem is, before they get home, pack food so you can eat at the moment you might have a few minutes to spare. I have to preplan my food and pack food too with my college classes. Even keep a cooler or a lunch box with ice packs in your car.

econ nerd You can do it. :) I'm here for you.

Tummy Girl Wow, 90 minute run?? I can't wait for the day I can manage that one. How did it go?

Nella I love this time of year too. :) I like that idea for a reward after a mini goal. I really need to think of some mini goal rewards for myself.

jellofer2 That would be amazing, for us all to meet our goals this month. I think we should all get together and try it. ;) How do you like C25K? I'm mulling it over this weekend.

shasha That king crab legs sounds really good! I'm sorry you've been feeling sick, I am too. -.- What a way to start out the month. Haha. Random dog . XD Well, you could say that, only it would be three of them. And Congrats on the loss!

Shrinking Girl Congrats on the pants! I have tons of pants that fit me when I was smaller and can't wait to get there. My best friend even bought me a motivation t-shirt (to go with my motivation shorts and bikini) for my birthday back in August. Now, to begin running, you started on the C25K, right? I'm trying to remember correctly since it's that time of the year again that I want to begin running. And Congrats on the loss! My aunt always does the same. -.- She doesn't believe I'll loose the weight, but I can't wait to prove her wrong! School is going great, other than this past week. All I wanted was to go home and sleep. XD

mystical I am right there with you. My weight was 219 at the beginning of September (I believe) and since I just got sick I've been OP, today I read that the scale says 219. -.- I now it must be the cold and not eating right. Hopefully this month we can break the cycle together. :) Also, it might be difficult to give up that soda. It took me all of September struggling until the last week.

sotypical You can do it! I'm there for you.

Taurie I completely understand, it's difficult for me when I'm at a family get together or with friends and there's a table full of food, or even just at my house trying to figure out what to munch on.

KitgetsFit Those are great goals! You can do it and I'll even help.

nellonello Oh wow! That's so great on the 4 lb loss already!

princess jen You can do it. :) We're all here to help you.

ruth135 I'm sorry you didn't loose more, but at least you have one less pesky pound to deal with! Have you tried to have one day of the week where you eat what you want? Well, within reasonable portion sizes or upping your calories to loose more? You make Chicken noodle? I've always bought it in a can, but now I'm rethinking that. How easy or difficult is it to make it? I absolutely love yoga and we get some on our tv channels, but they have commercials in between them. XD Oh and congrats on the loss. :)

ShrinkingAmy Congrats on starting C25K! How did you like it. I'm thinking about starting it.

jen7 I also have a heck of a time on weekends. -.- I think it's just out of the normal weekday routine.

helpmelose I must agree this will be an amazing month. ;)

ButterflyDiva Congrats on sticking to your plan. :) That Slimfast chocolate Monkey shake sounds really good!

Delphi I hope the moving is going well! I know how difficult that cane be to stay OP. When we moved to my current house we had to live in it while remodeling. We thad boxes in the dining room forever. -.- And the fridge was no good so we had to live out of Safeway (we're three houses away.)

jenn5366, Brook506, FitGirlyGirl Of course you all can join. Welcome. :) Good Luck on your goals this month and I'm here for you if you need help, actually we all are. ;)

jessicado22 I hope your computer gets fixed soon, but kuddos for using your ipod. :) 3 weeks of TOM?? I would definitely be calling the doc's office.

Velveteen WTG on the food journaling. I'm trying to get back into the habit. It's hard to get into that habit and to break it. XD And Congrats on the weight loss!

Cape Breton Chick Welcome. :) The motivation here is just amazing! I started in August and I just can't get away.

Bigmid Wow! You have been busy! I hope you stay OP over the next 5 days! Good Luck and try to breathe. It's a stress reliever. ;)
rachiru Isn't always the best to start off the first day of a challenge and it end great? haha, I hope you understood that. XD

Phew. I was sitting here for about 2 hours. But now, I'm caught up. ;)

All righty. Friday I found out my score for my first ever speech in, well, speech class. I got 24/25! I celebrated with some Starbucks. I got an hot apple cider with Carmel, a slice of coffee cake, and a coffee thermos (for say faux hot cocoa.) I have been horrible the last few days with this cold, OP wise. So, I'm not surprised that my scale says 219. I am now watching everything I put in my mouth. A few crazy days, and now I'm OP. With a slight wiggle room since I have ice cream (in the little 4 oz cups) for my throat.

Any who, I found a recipe for a healthy pumpkin pie, which I'm going to try out before thanksgiving. I am also going to make those mashed potatoes and cauliflower to see if it's good. If so, I'm telling grandma I've got the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. I just won't mention until after they've eaten it that they're healthy. I just might bring my balsamic vinegar instead of Turkey gravy. I'm thinking, if I like the pumpkin pie recipe that I'm going to make them in mini form; in the muffin tins. I also think that I'll bring some apple cider and warm it, put a little bit of caramel and have that treat instead of soda.

Something else that I've been pondering lately is my walk with the dogs. I've been thinking about walking to the mini poodle mixes (both poodle mixes, just different mixes) and then beginning C25K with Charlie the yellow lab. We're trying to tap into his energy since walking him and then playing with the ball for a while doesn't even begin to tap into his energy. Luckily my 5 year old nephew is going to tap into that energy today when he spends the night. :D What do you all think? How do you think C25K would work with a four legged running partner?

Now, I believe that's all I had stored in my mind as I was doing personals. I have to go do all my reading for my classes this coming week. Luckily, I already finished a book so that one less read.

Hey there ladies... just checking in for Saturday... So I started monday 9/28 and I am down almost 4 pounds since then!! I am super excited and hopefully it will keep coming off. I know not to expect so quickly in the upcoming weeks. I think it is mostly because I have kicked donuts, cookies, cakes, ice cream and I have to agree with idream..... drinking lots of water!! I am drinking about 94oz every day and I swear that is the secret. I have also just watched what I am eating, I am not counting calories, or watching carbs jut not eating as much and not much of the bad stuff.

Tummy - that is awesome a 90 minute run!! How fantastic and I bet it felt great!!! :carrot:

Cape - welcome to the board. I just joined this group for this months challenge and so far they have been great!!!

CanadianAngel- wow it sounds like you have had a busy morning. Good job for getting on that treadmill with everything else you have going on.

FSA Thank you

MissMallee I do alright as long as I can stick to plan but I was feeling sick several times and we went on vacation so my eating was off plan but I'm doing better now and have already dropped 1.6lbs for October, yay! I actually don't put noodles in my chicken soup usually but I will put in brown rice. It can be time consuming cutting up all the veges but I make a big enough pot to last for two or three meals. I boil a whole chicken (I try to only use pasture raised organic chickens) then add onions, garlic, carrots, celery, potatoes, brown rice, fresh thyme and parsley, and sometimes other seasonings. The longer you boil the chicken the more nutritious the broth. Oh, before I add the veges I take the chicken out, let it cool, and then debone it. You could just make it with chicken breasts but your broth won't be as nourishing. Anyway, thats my version of chicken soup :)

Well, I was down a .6 this morning, woohoo! I did some yoga this morning and dh and I took a brisk walk/jog after dinner. The bbq went well today. I think even with the piece of ice cream cake I still did ok. It was a nice birthday for my MIL.

Good night girls!

So, got on the scale this morning and sitting at 251.4. Darn. It's like I just can't move it. For a brief few moments it hurts because of everything that I have changed and given up in my life. But then I think what doors are slowly opening for me and decided to keep on going. So, just finished my turkey sausage breakfast (high pro, low carb plan) and drinking 1/2 liter of my 4 liters of water per day and am checking in with my peeps. I think I need to go back to a stricter intake, or just live a little and hope that it tricks my body. I shall meditate on W3 D3 of C25K. Which I love. I do see it as a mobile meditation. speaking of meditation. The full moon is tonight so I will be meditating with thousands of folks around the world. Maybe we can create a positive energy shift. All of my 3fc peeps will be part of my intention. I am so looking forward to this. Cause, I get to do it in my completed massage treatment room. I am over half way done with my massage therapy program and have turned one of my extra bedrooms into a massage and meditation room. So tonight I get to meditate in there with no DH or Dpuppy. :) We shall see what the scale shows tomorrow.

I went shopping yesterday for some clothes. Had a Lane bryant coupon and needed to use it. But some things in a smaller size, they are a bit snug, but in about a week they will be perfect. So I was a bit excited. Looking forward to the end of the month to hit my go and do some resale shopping. That will be fun. Lots of clothes for little cash. Enjoy the day ladies and go BEARS!!!!!

Ok, real quick here since I've spent a lot of time sans internet lately, I've had time to tinker around with photos.

Please excuse the messy bedroom, the bad camera angles and the different distances. I take the pictures myself for the swimsuit top/shorts ones. These are pretty hideous but motivating all the same.

The pictures are in this order: initial, after 6 weeks, after 12 weeks
I never seem to see a difference between each 6 week set but I do see a huge difference between week 12 and week 0.
My next photos are Nov 1st and I'm pretty excited.

And the regular clothing one was taken this morning in my new clothes.

Hi Chickies,
Hope ya don't mind if I join in. Needs some major motivation to keep going. Lost a few pounds and put it back on. Would like to get in the 220's for my October challenge, I'm currently 233 so my goal for October is 225 or 8 lbs.

Hiya ladies, I finally got my old PC out of storage today so I can at least use that until my laptop is fixed. Yay, no more posting with the ipod!
I have been missing from action and there is just waaay too much to catch up on personals with, but I at least wanted to say

Sandye: W2G on your 5K! You rock! Cant wait to hear more details.

SG--You look so much different! What awesome update pics, look at you just shrinking away!

Well, a few more days until it has officially been over 3 weeks since TOM has arrived and tormented me and the scale. Seriously, I am officially the same weight today as I was 2 weeks ago. I am about ready to just start banging my head on the desk.....I don't have health insurance (I already pay $110 for DD to have insurance, and cant afford me too at this time), so have been putting off going to the doctors, but if this goes on much longer, I won't have a choice. I am really hoping this just stops in the next few days. I upped my calories the past 5 days or so (probably another reason the scale isn't my friend this week), and was hoping maybe that would help my body out, but TOM still stuck around so I decided to just go back to my normal diet and exercise regime and see what happens. Seriously, TOM had better go away soon, and the scale better say 249 by next Sun weigh in or I am going to be sooooooo pissed.
Well, other than the neverending TOM, not much is going on. I did have one great experience this last week when my sister brought me a pair of pants she picked up at a garage sale. I had been able to fit into one pair of size 18 pants last month that I had lying around, but was too nervous to try another pair of 18s on at a store or something. Anyways, my sister had gotten me a size 18 pair of jeans that looked way too tiny, and I thought there was no way they were going to fit. I finally decided to try them on a few hours later to at least see how tight they were so I could use them for my next pair of goal pants.....and they slid right on! I couldnt believe it! That at least made me feel good for one day throughout this whoel horrible 3 week TOM ordeal, lol.

I didnt have internet to find out what week 3 of the C25K program was, so I just ran for 13 minutes on the treadmill and hoped that was good enough. I just checked and realized that was way more than I needed for week 3, but oh well! Now I will be ready for the 16 minutes I need to run for week 4. (I am still just cramming all the running segments into 1 straight run to utilize my gym time. DD isnt fussing in childwatch anymore, so I know I have a full hour to work out, but I still want to get as much cardio in as possible while I am at the gym and dont want to waste time walking, so I am just running it all at once, lol). I am only running at a 4.5 (so okay, I am jogging, lmao) but figure I will work on speed once I can get my time endurance up.

ShrinkingGirl - you 're looking awesome! way to go!

Krista - Welcome - you'll find great support here!

Jellofer - Don't be discouraged! Keep on truckin' along and the weight WILL come off!

As for me... Friday night I went out for Mexican with the fam and didn't do too great - had one brew too but I was able to come home and workout afterwards - did Pilates and another stretch workout because I was sore from the previous day's workout. Yesterday I didn't work out at all - took the day off, which is fine because I had worked out 8 days straight - but I do find that I eat worse on days I don't work out... Anyway, I just came in from my c25k w1d2. It was rough but I was jogging at a pretty good speed... some may even call it a run. We're going over to MIL's tonight for dinner - burgers and who-knows-what so I'll have to watch my intake. Luckily all I've had today is oatmeal and a lean cusine! I plan to do a strenght workout tonight after DD goes to bed - need to get my exercise goal minutes in!

I'm up this WI. It's totally my fault and I accept that. This week will be better! I restarted my SparkPeople account today and I plan on going to the gym at least 3x this week. I start training for my new job tomorrow! Wish me luck girls, the whole at home thing is new territory for me and I'm a little nervous. :^:

Good evening girls! Oh I feel like such a flake for not checking in sooner, but it's been a busy weekend!

I have been completely off plan all weekend--not feeling to awful about it as I planned for some slacking, but man--I've been baaaaaaaaaaad! I won't go into all the horrid details (only my mom knows the truth! ;)) but let's just say I have not been the poster child of Making Good Choices where eating is concerned ;)

No matter, I'll be back at it in full force tomorrow!!! I never got the basement cleaned out so I'll be shoving stuff out of my way to clear a spot for my P90X workout tomorrow bright and early! (Tummy, I think I'm going to go for the Lean program and see how things go from there--go ahead, call me chicken--I am!! :D)

So here's the low down on the 5K:

I got there super early--I hadn't gotten my registration packet and I was expecting tons of people (there wasn't) and so I got there at 7:30am. I spent the next hour sitting in my car and then I found my in-laws (who walked the 5K) and hung out with them until hubby and the kids got there and the race started.

Hubby had just bought me a new iPod Shuffle (insert 'awww' right here--he bought it as a gift for all my hard work to make it to my goal. :) Go ahead, say it again...'awwww' ;)) and I hadn't even turned it on when they started the race! So I spent the first few minutes fumbling around while I was running trying to turn it on and stuff. I know I must have looked like such a noob!! LOL

Anyway, it went pretty well. There were hills and that made me nervous, but I just took them slow and steady and made sure not to let myself go too fast once I got over them--just tried to keep the same steady pace.

I finished in 30:40 and was pretty darn proud of myself as that was my fastest time yet! I had a blast and I'm looking forward to running another one as soon as I can find out when there's another one in town. :)

Okay, well, my mom called me tonight wondering where the pic of me running was so I better get to posting it...here ya go--me, in all my goofy running glory:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2431/3982524606_22dbd2555a.jpg

I really need to work on loosening my arms a bit I think--I had no idea I ran with them so high!!!

Okay, I'll be back in the morning to catch up on personals and stuff! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! :)

Hey Ladies,

Just a (hopefully) quick post before I go snuggle in bed and listen to my book. - A few weeks ago I had to return my book to the library when I wasn't finished since it was in high demand. So, I found an mp3 version and put it on my mp3 player.- Which comes in handy when you are sick of reading all the college books. XD Well, only this one book in particular.

Today, wasn't the greatest OP day, but I now with my meal plan prepared, that tomorrow will be a much better day. And my cold's going away, but waking up is the worst.

Wow! only 4 days into the month and 10 pages of posts!!

Hi ladies,

I'm sorry I've been MIA. Things are super nuts right now and I barely check my email!

Couch to 5 k finished: I ran for 50 minutes last week. My plan is to continue 3x a week until the race (5k on 10/18) and then SLOWLY build up to the 10k in December.

When did I become an actual runner? :)

shrinking girl- Wow there is a huge difference in your recent pics. I can't wait until I'm able to take pics after losing a bunch of weight.

Sandye- Congrats on your first 5k! I'm sure you will be running 10ks and half marathons in no time.

jessicado- Good job on running for 13 minutes. Looks like you are ahead of schedule.

So I am done with the first week of South Beach. I have one more week of restricted eating, then I begin Phase 2. So while I'm not craving crappy foods per se, but I don't like eating meat all the time. I guess that means I will just have to start adding more veggies. This week one of my high school friend's is coming to visit us. If we eat out, I already looked into some SB friendly restaurants, so I hope I'm ok.

Sandye ~ I was runnin'! Good for you darling. You simply looks beautiful and fit. Just awesome. I'm so glad mom's around to keep pushing you as well. Mom gets an extra five cool points, for making you post that picture. ;) So how ya been?

Shrinking ~ Your pictures look great to darling. Looking good kiddo.

Alright ladies....Gooooooooooooooooood Morning and it is definitely that. Well I'm finally, done packing. I still have cleaning and some landscaping to do, but other than that, I can finally sit on my arse for one day...AND that day is today. My poor hands are so swollen from working from sun up to sun down since last Wednesday, that I can barely turn door knobs...and this house is full of them. I weighed in at 170 even this morning. I'm thinking that's not accurate, as I am quite bloated and I believe I am retaining water due to the swollen muscles and stuff. Regardless I'm quite pleased that I went completely off plan and lived on pizza, vitamins, and diet coke for three weeks and still lost weight. So yeah, I'm full of win again. :woohoo:

Oooooooooooooooh and Sandye, I got me a whole new house girly...everything is put into it's place and organized, so the cleaning challenges will be non exsistent for me, however, while we were moving in, I had the dry wall guys here redoing all the celings (which look great) so now every room has to be repainted. Color me pink painting challenge can commence when you are ready darling.

Well I'm off. Must see the boys to school and hopefully try to catch up with all my sites and swing in and see how everyone is doing. I hope you ladies have the most awesome day ever.

Shrinking-good job! You can really see the difference keep it up!

Sandye- congrats! I'd like to be able to run one day!

GoooooooD Morning Ladies!!!

Ate on plan this weekend! Had a great weekend...
I'm planning the menu for my mom's 54th birthday party (It's her first birthday party everrrrr) I know it's not a milestone birthday but I didn't live close when she hit 50, so she didn't have a party...so I plan to make up for that! I'm going to call that day a cheat day...I'll be cooking about half the menu....like Thanksgiving in October! I've started on the party favors, invitations are out now its time to get all the shopping out of the way.

Enjoy your day!

Good Morning Ladies,

Cape Breton Chick - Welcome aboard, I just visited your lovely island this summer, lol. Look forward to getting to know you :)

Bigmid - Oh I love a good rambling, that sounds like some marvelous coorporate planning, lol. Enjoy the conference and we'll catch up when you get back and congrats on the loss, that's wonderful!

Miss Mallee - The run was great but chilly, I think the best part aside fromjust being able to do it at all is that b/c I've worked up slowly I'm not sore afterwards, that's was amaes me most I believe. that was the biggest personal post ever! Sandye's gonna be jelaous, lol. WTG on the marks in class too, that's pretty great and even with you being so nervous!

Helpmelose - Wicked 4 pounds :carrot:! How I envy you and being able to eat like that, my full indicator broke some years ago so I have to count everything or I would never stop eating! THe run was great thanks for asking, the only challenging part about progression program like this is that even when you finish an accomplishment like that you have more to do the next week :fr:, no rest for the wicked.

FSA - Hope you manage through your family stuff the best you can and we'll be thinking about you

Ruth - Goodness you're already down 1.6 this month, that's great, last month will just be one of those weird months, that our bodies all went crazy. Great job and fantastic chicken soup recipe, lol, it makes me long for my meat eating days (just a little bit, ;))

Jellofer - I hope that scale moves for you soon, the frustrations can seem endless with that. LOL that what I call running too, my mobile meditations, I do some of my best thinking on the road, just me and the darkness. Congrats on the shopping trip and some new clothes, a very nice reward for all that hard work.

SG -:dance::dance::dance: That's right four dancing fatties just for you, you look incredible! Are those new clothes?!? The difference is amazing between the 20lbs, not to mention you look a ton happier :) And btw love your living room colour, that was my dinig room colour in my old house, just love it!

Krista - :welcome: We love new folks around here. By all means come by and post often ask for support or a good kick in the butt, whatever you want or need and we'll do the best we can to help out.

jen7 - You ran after drinking, you're my hero, lol. I have yet to be able to manage that, wine is my kryptonite.

jessicado - First of all congrats on the jeans, that's super rockin awesome! And great that dd is used to the childcare there, that's going to make life so much eaiser. I've never heard of TOM being so crazy either but then again I've never missed mine entirely before either so it appears that weight loss is crazy on our cycles and you did drop a ton really fast there. But if all else fails the doctor would be the answer and boo that you have to pay for that at all. I can't wait until the government figures out how to give you all health care like we have up here, one day :)

Amy - That's alot of eating out to navigate through, great job. And congrats on the running, lol, it may have taken you awhile to get going but now you're blazing!

Velveteen -

JasonsLea - Congrats on the job :carrot::carrot:That's fantastic news! Are you going to be working from home?

Sandye - First, you're a :chicken:, oh that's so great I thought they only had a cow and that just won't have been nice, lol. But you can always change your mind after a day or so when you realize that you can do the other one. You just ran a 5K and remember who said they weren't a runner, hmmmm? Who was that :chin: oh yes, you! And now there's a picture of you running your thin bad self down the road! Oh that's all from me, lol, I'll cheer you on whatever you choose and you could always do lean and then after 3 months of that do classic for another three month, muhahaha. And tell you dh he's a sweety from me, that was so nice. And I'm so proud of you too, that's definitely not something the 200lb, January 2009, Sandye would have done, way to go a thousand times over!

Dcapulet - Congrats on the 5K:carrot: and another racer I'm so excited for you. And i think I remember when you decided to become a runner, lol, and look now you are!

Shasha - Right on finishing up week one, and that's some good planning for next weekend already, so I have no doubt you'll do great :)

Delphi - Babe! Missed you  Can I have a copy of the pizza, vitamins and diet coke diet emailed to me please, lol. I'm glad you're almost settled and congrats on the weight, that must have been an awesome surprise! I hope that means we get to be blessed with you a bit more now that you're safe and sound :). How are your kidlets doing with all the changes?

Cle - What a sweet daughter you are. I'm sure she'll appreciate the party nonetheless and I had to laugh cuz us Canadians actually have Thanksgiving in October so it took me a minute to process that, lol. Wtg being onplan over the weekend, great work!

The runnings all done this morning, I got some high tech running leggings yesterday to go under my pants since my legs have been turning red and it was like heaven out there today. It just takes one layer of skin tight spandex and then I'm golden. My dh thought of this delightful yet super geeky solution to my darkness problem, a headlamp, yup that's right, he brought me home a light I can strap to my head, like a miner! Fortunatley today the moon was so bright I could see perfectly without assitance but I'm prepared to be a big huge nerd should the need arise. Found a new winter jacket too which was the biggest expense of this weight loss extravaganza. Although trading in my old size 18 for a medium, yes I'll say it again b/c I like it, it's a medium, was one of the best things I've got to do so far.

Well Sandye, I don't know if the bad eating gods were upon us but I ate an unplanned waffle yesterday that I wasn't too thrilled about. Granted it was uber healthy without eggs and whole wheat and 267 calories but I ate it all standing up at the counter like some kind of crazed starved lunatic. And I wasn't hungry and it was after super when I normally dont' eat anymore. So I did some work yesterday on problem solving that kind of situation in the future so I don't resort to "gut filling" again. It was nice not to get all pissy about it though, just figure out how to prevent in the future and move on.

Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday!

Tummy ~ Missed you to man. And yeppers, I'll be around more now, that I am settled in. Kids are adjusting well and I am to...though, they are still going to their old school to. Lots of kids in this neighborhood and again, it isn't too far from where we used to live. Yup, I am so sick of pizza, I probably wont eat any for a year. I had all utensils, dishes and pans packed up, so it's been pizza EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Definitely nice to get back to real food and when my body heals up, back to Maya. SG~ WOW!! You look fantastic girlie!!! What a difference!! And woo hoo on the new clothes! You'll have those new glasses in no time too!! (although I do love your current ones :)) (Btw, I have that same figurine--I love those things! I have a bunch of 'em!)

Cle~ Awww, how sweet of you to throw your mom a Birthday party! :) I'm sure she'll have a ball!

:welcome: to all the newbies and  Hi to everyone I missed!

Ladies, I stand before you and shamed woman. I was beyond horrid this weekend. I went above and beyond binging...I gorged myself on food that I never eat and just kept on going and going and going. I even justified it! "well, I am at goal now and I haven't done anything remotely like this in months--it's all good"...

Ugh...well let me tell you, it is NOT "all good".

:barf:

I have never--EVER--felt so rotten after eating in all of my life! Not even the cheesecake incident can compare to this! My head is pounding, my stomach is furious with me, I've got chills and feel just blechy!!! I've already downed 64oz of water and it's not even 10:00am! I intend on drinking much, much more before the day is done. I feel like I spent the entire weekend drinking alcohol and eating hotwings!

I did, however, manage to get my sorry self downstairs to start P90X today. I even (after I finally got the boys off to school and the girls fed) did the Ab Ripper X as well (daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang is that hard!!!!) and managed a few laughs thrown in the mix while doing it because I was soooo not able to do the whole thing.

But now, I'm back to feeling horrid. I just want to crawl into bed and sleep the rest of the day.

But, I won't. Nope. I'm going to make sure I stay awake to feel every single twinge of pain, every gurgle of my stomach and I will pay close attention to how miserable I feel so that I remember NEVER to do anything remotely close to what I did this weekend, ever, EVER again!!!

On the plus side, I have a renewed sense of commitment! :D And, I do believe that hubby is feeling just as bad--if not worse--than I am and his exact words as he left this morning were, "I am eating a Subway sandwich for lunch LOADED with leafy greens!!!". I said, "is this your wake up call perhaps?" to which he replied with a smile and a nod. ;) So ladies, keep your fingers crossed that he feels every twinge and gurgle today too so that he remembers how awful he feels (I'm going to be texting him about my misery all day long so as to drive the point home even further ;)) and maybe, just maybe he'll finally jump on the bandwagon with me!!

Okay, well, other than that...I'm going to try to read all that I can on the P90X because without the guides I'm kind of flying blind. I was going to do the Lean version and well, I don't see it anywhere! So, obviously I missed something somewhere.

Ugh...okay, I gotta get off the computer...my head hurts and I need more water!!! Have a great day ladies and let my misery be a lesson to you all: Stay On Plan!!! Do not throw caution to the wind and eat like a crazed maniac--it will only cause you intense pain and suffering (and I think it goes without saying--Weight Gain!!!)...groan :barf: Oh yeah, and don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!

I know I won't...

:barf::barf::barf:

Ugh...

Congrats on the 5K Sandye!!!! Let me know how you like P90X. Someone has it listed on Craigslist for $60 with the book and everything. I'm tempted to buy it, if it's worth it.

Shrinking Girl - Great pics!! You can totally see a transformation!

Delphi - I'm glad the new house is all settled in. You are a machine! I still have boxes I haven't unpacked from when I moved in with DH 3 years ago! You're getting so close to goal! I know you can make it!

Cle - Great job on being OP over the weekend! And that is so sweet of you to plan a party for your mom! My mom will also be 54 in February, maybe I'll plan her a big party, since I missed the big 5-0 for her as well.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Hubby had a lot of homework, so I got to run some errands and get some fall flowers for outside. I'm still fighting with the numbers on the scale, even though I have been OP, drinking my water and working out. Maybe some miraculous drop will occur this week, lol. I'm not letting it get me too down, just frustrated. I really want to get to 170 by the end of the month, and that darn scale is fighting and taunting me. I'll show it who's boss in the end, but the battle is tough. Last week was the first week I haven't had at least a 1.5 pound loss (in fact I was up 2.2 - yikes!). My DH keeps saying "it's just a plateau, you'll get through it." but I'm inpatient and want it done NOW. I'm going to try lowering my calories to 1200-1300 this week and see if that kicks anything into gear. I had been eating 1500-1600 and zig zagging, but something stalled in the process.

So, you ladies have a lovely day!!!

Holy Moley! I just read pages of posts to which I cannot possibly respond. I do have to say a few thigs though.

SG-WOW! Such an amazing, noticeable difference! You look fantastic in your new clothes, too. I'm so glad you treated yourself to shopping in a store! You deserve it!!

Sandye-#1 You look like such an athlete in your race pic! You go girlie!! BTW, pics and video of your running are super helpful in improving form!
#2 Live and learn on the gorging, huh? You've been SO on-plan that your body was NOT happy with the alternative! Well, now you know how your body really felt about your eating in the past. LOL

Delphi-Awesome job getting all settled in! Hope it continues to go smoothly in your new place. Painting sounds like a great project/challenge. I know I'll be doing a lot of it once we get in our house. But that won't be for a few months. I have colors picked out for some of the rooms already. It's just fun to plan.

Quick update on me-I'm holding steady weight-wise. I must be eating too much salt and not drinking quite enough water to wash it out. Will improve and get that silly scale moving ASAP. I'd really love to blow my goal out of the water and get super close to goal this month. I've been doing some more reading and think I may have to make some dietary adjustments. It looks like I may have some mild wheat and dairy intolerances that are hindering my weight-loss. We'll see if cutting back on those helps. Now I have to go to a health food store to get some stuff to replace those things in my cooking. Should be interesting since I eat those things VERY regularly (yogurt, milk, whole wheat bread/pasta). UGH!! I guess we'll see how it goes. Any helpful info would be great if anyone else deals with this stuff. Oh, on a positive note...I lost 5 inches last month! Yay!

Cle - What a sweet daughter you are. I'm sure she'll appreciate the party nonetheless and I had to laugh cuz us Canadians actually have Thanksgiving in October so it took me a minute to process that, lol. Wtg being onplan over the weekend, great work!

Congrats on your medium!!!

:barf: mornin'...:barf:...girls...:barf:
Cle~ Awww, how sweet of you to throw your mom a Birthday party! :) I'm sure she'll have a ball!

Ugh...

Feel better!!!

Hope you break this plateau also! Enjoy your day!

I really pray my mom has a great time! I hope all her friends keep it a secret! I haven't told one of my cousins yet because she can't keep a secret and everyone knows!!!! lol so sad bc she's cooking for the party...I won't tell her until the day before....we'll see

Thanks for the well wishes!

Sandye ~ Girl...don't I know the feeling. After my pancake debacle, I felt horrible and that adjective simply doesn't describe it nearly well enough. You hang in there. We live and learn...and you surely are learning. In a way, it's a good thing. Sometimes we need to feel how miserable we can be when we aren't pursuing a healthier life style. A friendly reminder if you will... You are a champ, you will pull right through.

MsP ~ Hey you , woohoo on the panties girlfriend, you are nearing out the 140's. :bravo: Oh and painting. Well I just had the dry wall guys in here, to redo all the ceilings and they made a mess of the rooms, so every room has to be repainted...I'm sure I'll still be playing catch up when you guys finally move in.

Nella ~ Ah gee thanks hun. How ya been sweetie?

Hey gals,

Just a quickie, Sandye if you did Core this morning you're doing Lean but since you did Abs (and Chest/Back?) I imagine you're doing classic, lol. I have the schedule printed up on a calendar in Microsoft publishing to help me out. Do you have that program, I could email you a copy, but it is classic ;) Sweat out the poision and suck back that water you'll feel better in no time and have all that extra stored energy to workout!

Delphi - We're doing great, it's getting brisk up here, I envy the winter you guys must have but this is all I know so I don't know what I would do with all my cold weather gear if we ever moved some place warmer, oh ya I do, I throw it away!!! Dh is working, I'm working out, you know same old same old, dd is marvelous and not wearing a diaper to bed anymore, lol, oh the triumphs of motherhood.

MsP - As far as allergies to things, I cook with a lot of almond flour b/c it's low GI, I use it for breading things and such. It's not good for baking however. We eat Siver Hills Bread which is flourless but I just checked, there's still whole sprouted wheat in there so that's not going to help. You could always try the celi bread if it's a gluten thing. If you're cutting down on eggs, you can use 1 tbsp of flax meal to 3 tbsp of water, nuke for one minute and it's worth one egg in baking or meatloaves, burgers, etc as a binder. it actually turns into this yokey consistency, it's weird. Otherwise, I use almond milk everywhere I use regular milk b/c I don't like soy and rice is too high in calories. I make the almond milk myself (it's a super easy recipe) and it runs 40 cal a cup but you can buy it up here for 2.99 a litre if that's easier. Oh and we eat a lot of brown rice pasta which is entirely wheat free as well so that could be an option too. Good luck!

Cle - Thanks :) LOL a surprise party even, oh that's a hoot.

Nella - It's hard, it would be nice if it could go away tomorrow but you know that is giong to be what separates us from those that don't make it, we will prevail!

Ok, that wasn't so quick, lol, but now I'm off to the dump, the mail and to drop dh off to work, toot-a-loo

Tummy ~ That's a triumph indeed. :bravo: to your little girl. I can't wait for the no diapers phase for my wee one, although I'll still be buying them for poor little Canaan. But I think he will need something larger in a year or so. That should be fun to purchase...definitely gonna end up on peopleofwalmart.com now.

As for me, I've had another contractor in here all morning, installing two new windows and an AC unit in the bedroom. I tell ya, moving in and unpacking with the dry wall guys were here was ****, but dang, I can't get any peace with this guy here. I'll just be glad when I have a day to relax without people coming in and out. My legs are feeling a bit better and so does my hand, so perhaps tomorrow I can get back to my exercise routine. :woohoo:

I'm back! ...I think

Hello to all my old friends and to all the new friends to be!

Things are finally starting to take shape around this place, although there are still boxes everywhere and things that haven't found their way to their place.

It was a move full of adventures, starting with the fact that the place was not left clean and we spent the first 3 or 4 days just scrubbing grime from everywhere. After the place was finally clean, we had to do some painting in the middle of the night so that the walls would be dry for when the movers arrived. Turns out the stairways are too narrow and our box spring didn't making up the stairs so we're sleeping on the floor ...good times LOL.

Delphi: I cannot understand how you managed to pack/unpack so fast, honestly, it feels like I've been going at it forever and I still see no end.

I still don't know what I will make my goals for October, but I wanted to show my face in here to get back on track. Eating has been horrible for the past couple of weeks (take out everyday) and no formal exercise, although I suppose scrubbing has to count for something.

Weighing in today... not so great... 132.6... up .2 from last week! GRRRR. I worked out every day but one - guess maybe I need to look a little closer at my intake. Plus this is the week before TOM so that could be part of the problem. I'll be working out tonight and I might make a chicken stirfry for dinner... I need to also start tanning! One month till vacation - YIKES!

Ms.P - My DH and step daughter (and mother in law, and sister in law) have Celiacs Disease and can't have wheat, barley or rye. Let me know if you have ANY questions about cooking wheatless, since I do it everyday, lol. I will say, read the book Healthier Without Wheat It will help a lot. Wheat is in so many things that you wouldn't even think, lunchmeats, ice creams, pasta sauce. I could go on forever with all the information I have crammed in my head over the last 6 months. Last thing I will say is, try Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta. The other brands are gross, Tinkyada and Trader Joes are the best. And the Brown Rice pasta is not too bad nutrition wise.

Feel free to PM me for as much or as little info as you want. We have experimented with almost every brand of bread/pasta/cereal/ other wheat free product. Oh, and Amazon is the best place to buy in bulk dry good items.

NSM ~ Hey girly. Well I don't exactly have a ton of stuff, but I literally spent, all day and all night, every day... going at it, even with the dry wall guys here, messing up everything. Which by the way, was aggravating to say the least. But I hurt my hand pretty bad, but I think it's finally getting better. All I lack is laying the plastic in the flower beds and then the mulch. But it's so cold here and the rain has just poured for days. I'm glad you are still checking in and "showing" your face. I sure would miss you, if you didn't. Then we would have to pull "ye ol' frying pan" out.

ShrinkingAmy ~ I'm always up the week before TOM, so that's probably what it is. Our bodies will retain that water...so you can at least take comfort in that. :)

Hi chicks,

Just a quickie right now, I really want to do personals but I have to get some papers graded and exercise so I don't have time.

I was not good yesterday and I am paying for it today. I'm usually at my parents' house (along with my sister and her kids) every Sunday and sometimes they have too many goodies laying around. This time she had this delicious coffee cake, normally I really don't care about coffee cake but this stuff was good! She had cut it in little pieces for everyone and I just kept grabbing pieces as I would walk past, grrr! Then after we got home I took a tiny nap and when I woke up I was starving! We ate some leftovers and the rest of the ice cream cake from Saturday, and I had planned on only eating a salad after all that coffee cake, argh! Needless to say, today I felt bloated and I know my weight is way up. So today I'm drinking lots of water and trying to keep it lower carb. I'm am making pizza tonight (this was already planned) but its a thin whole wheat crust and I'm going to make part of the pizza lighter for me. We're also going to have a big salad to go with it. I think I am pre-TOM and that's why a couple of times yesterday and today I have felt like I was starving.

I'm so glad for you girls because you help me stay on track after I mess up. Where before I might keep eating bad for days after messing up.

Okay, well, I'm feeling a little better now that I've gotten some water and healthy food in me--oh, and a nice warm shower (would have been hot as all get out, but I had company  ).

Tummy~ I am such a moron! Duh--you typed all of them out for me!!! How did I not see the Lean program on there? Sheesh...that's what I get for skimming stuff during a hectic week! So, do you think there's any harm in starting the Lean program from Day 2 since I did Day 1 of Classic today? I hope not...I mean, I know I can do whatever, but you know how OCD I am about this sort of thing  I'd stick with Classic--but I am kind of nervous about the Plyometrics and my knee...whatcha think?

MsP~ thanks hun! I would've had video of me running, but my poor ds forgot to hit record (because hubby didn't remind him to) and so there's no video. I'm not bothered by it at all, but my poor kid--he was bummed about it the whole day!! :( Oh believe me, I've learned my lesson--no way I'm doing that again! Next Birthday--it's one cupcake and NO access to the snack table in any way!!! Good luck on the dietary changes--looks like you've got a couple of girls here to help you out in that area! :)

Cle~ thanks hun! Oooh, it's a surprise party to boot? Now that's going to be so much fun!!!

Delphi~ geez, I'm still in awe over here!!! I just don't know how you do it all!!!! Glad to hear your legs and hand are feeling better!!! And so glad you're back posting again!! :)

NSM~ Heya girlie!!! Glad to see you popping in!!! I'm with Delphi, I sure would miss you if you didn't. Sorry to hear they didn't clean when they left--I hate cleaning other peoples' ick!!! Here's to hoping you're unpacked before me! :D Hope to having you posting again daily soon! :)

ShrinkingAmy~ pre TOM always has me up--so that could very well be it. Make sure to get all your water in and that'll help.

Nella~ heya girlie!!!

yoovie~ :welcome: Good luck on your October Goals!!

Well ladies, I've basically done nothing all day besides nurse my aching head and make the girls lunch. I'm starting to feel better so that's good. I still have HIIT to do tonight, so I hope I'm feeling 100% by then--if not, I'll have to suck it up and tough it out.

Okay, just wanted to check in so I wouldn't be too far behind tonight! Hope everyone's having a great day!!! :)

Question for everyone - do any of you use one of those calorie counting HRM's? There are a few on Amazon for like $90 (I really want a Body Bugg, but can't bring myself to spend that much). I just don't think I'm getting an accurate count during my workouts when I put the info into Fitday. Any thoughts, advise, suggestions are welcomed!!

Tummy Girl
10-05-2009, 04:30 PM
Delphi - LOL, that's what DH said, ohh I can hear her getting cheaper. Oh I've so been there with the "larger size" diapers. With work I used to go get them all the time b/c so many of the folks needed them and staff we too embarrassed. So there I go with a cart full pushing it out to my car. The greeter wouldn't even stop me to check the receipt. I'm sure they thought I was going to pee my pants right there if they did. I'm super glad they are getting things fixed up for you too, even though there is nothing worse than drywall, ugh.

Nella - I use a HRM, mine is a Polar F11, it was a bit pricey but i know there are ones for around 100 or so. I wore mine for a number of days all day and night to see how close my BMR was to the estimated ones we get online and of course for my workouts. Now I just wear it during workout times and I know what my approximate calorie burn is other than workouts so I add that all together and minus my food, and there you have it, your deficit! I also like it so that I know I'm pushing hard enough during my cardio sessions, some days I think I am and I'm not and other days I can sustain a higher heart rate without noticing so much. It just helps maximize the cardiovascular benefit b/c you're in "your zone" Oh and my estimates from online were very wrong too.

NSM - Thanks for popping in, we missed you but glad you're getting settled in. How nasty to leave the place like that, some ppl have no manners. And scrubbing walls does count :)

Shrinking Amy - when all else fails, it's always TOM's fault. but then usually you get that nice big drop after so it's worth it.

Yoovie - Welcome! Post often and we look forward to getting to know you.

Ruth - What was it about yesterday? That was my issue with the waffle, it was in my mouth before I even thought about it. Must have been the full moon, lol, oh well onto bigger and better things (or maybe smaller and better)

Sandye - LOL no worries, sometimes we miss things. I was thinking you were have some shower sexy time but then I figured it was probably little girls, lol, not nearly as much fun. But you could always do classic and use cardio x in place of plyo to reduce the impact. My knees are not great either and I wear my braces for plyo and I've never had any issues. However, it definitely is something to be careful with for sure, I usually feel it in my butt the next day from all the squats. My thoughts as to why classic is for you, is b/c lean is meant to drop fat and classic is meant to tone. As long as you lift weights and are able to do 12-15 reps to failure you won't get bulky. But once again, lol, it's up to you.

The one I was looking at was a Polar F6 I believe. It was a pretty green color (green tea to be exact). I think my estimates from online are way off too, which is why I think I am going to splurge on this. I feel like I am working out way harder than it says I am when I enter it in on Fitday. Like it says I burn 190ish calories for a 3.5 mph walk for 45 minutes. I check my heart rate periodically through out (I have a standard HRM watch) and I stay in my burning zone on the high end.

Thanks for the feedback Tummy!

shrinking amy- Mexican food is one of my biggest pitfalls. I CANNOT for the life of me resist the never ending chips and salsa. Atleast you rocked it with your workouts to compensate.

jasonslea- good luck on the new job front.

jellofer- Hope you are feeling better. Good to hear you kicking *** on the C25K.

Sandye- We all overindulge at times. Don't beat yourself up. Now you know what not to do and gain back the weight. I'm sure you will be feeling better by tomorrow.

miss mallee- Yes, planning meals is the one thing that helps me stay OP for the most part. Its harder to give into bad choices if you have the right food near.

dcapulet- Holy crap, running for 50 minutes. Thats awesome. At this rate, you will be ready for longer races in no time at all.

Delphi- Its nice to have you back again. It looks like you did great losing weight while taking a little break. I'm sure it will feel great to get back in the saddle and start back up again. And what motivation you have to be unpacked already. It took me forever when I moved back in May. I'm glad to her that you and your kids are adjusting.

Imdedicated- Nice work staying OP. Weekends are soooo hard for me. I never realized how much I can rely on food as things to do. I'm straying away from that now, but it was a wakeup call. I think its so cute that you are planning a bday party for your mom. Is it going to be a surprise for her?

tummy- yay on the medium. One of the reasons I like love losing weight is of course smaller clothes. hehe, let us know how the headlamp works out for you while running.

nella- I know how frusturating it can be. I know for me personally, I don't have a loss every single week. Sometimes I'm the same, or up a little or down a little. Just keep doing what you're doing and your body will catch up.

MsP- Congrats on losing 5 inches! Thats huge. Oh and in my recent Shape magazine, it talks about a cook book thats all about recipes for folks with certain allergies (focus being wheat I think). I will let you know the name when I get home if you are interested.

NSM- Glad to have you back. I hope everything went well with your move.

ruth- I too am a little hungrier before TOM. I think as long as you just stay OP and workout, you should be fine after TOM leaves. Somtimes, if I push myself a little harder, I'm actually able to be down a few more than before TOM.

I have a lot to do at work today so thats making my day go by faster than usual. I'm on the second part of Phase 1 for South Beach. I am getting so tired of meat and eggs, esp the eggs. I think tonight I'm going to go get some tofu tonight and cook it up with some frozen veggies. But so far South Beach is great. I'm sitting at 243.6, so that means 3.6 lbs for my goal of 240 this month and down from 252.6 last Monday. I really hope that once I get into Phase 2, I'm still able to lose weight and not just gain it back.

Delphi

Good Evening Ladies...

shasha ~ So you started South Beach..eh? How's that treatin' ya? No worries about phase 2 hun, you just keep telling yourself you can do it and you will..because you can darling.

Nella ~ I have a gowearfit, but it's actually a bodybugg model, sold by a different company other than body media, but I love it and definitely recommend it. Even if you go with a HRM, it's still very beneficial to weight loss. I tell people all the time, that I live by numbers, and with the band, I definitely have a firm grasp on those numbers and deficits.

Tummy ~ Haha...well they say great minds think a lot. Hubby must be bloody brilliant. Nothing sexier than a geek with a gun.

Sandye ~ Groovy to hear you are feeling a bit better. You know, I found this old cast iron frying pan whilst I was moving...just wanna throw that out there missy. You know, you're not the only one with a Grade A rollin' pin either... Now there's a chuckle...if any of you believe that I actually have a rolling pin, then you don't know me very well. I wouldn't even know what to do with it, other than chase after Sandye with it. lmao! Love ya girly. Good to be back!

Well as for me, it's been a groovy day. Picked the boys up from school and took them to get haircuts, as tomorrow is picture day and they were both little gentlemen. Made this momma proud. Other than that, the contractor finally finished up the windows and put in a new AC unit. He smelled funny....But anywho, tomorrow another contractor is coming over about the roof and the leak in the bathroom. Will I ever get one day of peace? I want to walk around in my exercise duds and stuff. I can't wait until it's just a sports bra and a pair of pants...that will do it. Oooooooo my, I found another before pic, if I can get it to scan on my printer I'll post it with my next progress pictures...OMGosh, it's awful ladies...I just sat there and shook my head. I look a lot heavier than 250 and probably was...but anyways, I'll get it up soon and I hope you ladies have a wonderful evening.

Alright got some info I need to update, but first I hope everyone had a great weekend and is doing well.
First I did get in 8 glasses of water on both Sat and Sun. Now for my Sunday menu
B- scrambled eggs with cheese and wheat toast
S- apple and peanut butter
L- 2 slices of homemade pizza with cheese and olives (I just discovered I like olives on my pizza. Wish someone would have told me this sooner, )
S- string cheese and cinnamon apple sauce
D- cucumber tomato salad
Yeah not much of a dinner and I didn't have anything else after that. I was so tired yesterday (woke up at 4 am) that I fell asleep at 7pm.

Today
B- cheesy egg omelet with wheat bread and jam
S- peach with cottage cheese
L Turkey pita sandwich with tomato on the side
S- rice cake with pb and strawberry jam; wheat crackers with ff cream cheese
D- Leftover homemade pizza with salad
s- Either a half a cup of spumoni ice cream or bakes caramelized apples.

water- just finished my 8th glass as I type this.

Tomorrow is my weigh in, unfortunately I got my TOM on Saturday but I snuck a peak this morning and I was still 130 so I'm hoping for a 1lb loss tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Had a nice OP day. I really appreciate the info on wheat-free living. I bought some stuff at the grocery store today that we're gonna try this week.
Nella-I will definitely look into getting that book you mentioned. And thanks for the product recommendations, too. That's super helpful since it's new territory. I know it's in a lot of stuff. I was trying to figure out what to eat today and I was hard pressed to make up a days worth of meals without including wheat and dairy. Crazy!

Tummy, thanks for your info too. We're good with eggs, but not so much with milk, so it's good to know almond milk can be used in things like cow's milk. I avoid soy, so can you shoot me that recipe or tell me where you found it? I gotta start writing some of this down. I will forget it all otherwise. LOL

Shasha-I'd love the name of the book. I'm probably not eliminating wheat 100% forever, but I'd like to try it for a couple weeks and see if it doesn't make a difference for DH and, to a lesser extent, me.

Well, I better go get some sleep. Tomorrow morning is gonna come early, but then every morning seems to now. I am not an early morning person. I would love to sleep until 6:30 or 7, but this isn't dream world, so I will cope. ;)

Imdedicated- Nice work staying OP. Weekends are soooo hard for me. I never realized how much I can rely on food as things to do. I'm straying away from that now, but it was a wakeup call. I think its so cute that you are planning a bday party for your mom. Is it going to be a surprise for her?

I eat out of boredom....I know that so I'm def working on that aspect, I'm really just tired of being fat....the skinny girl in me is ready to come out!
Yes, it's a surprise but for some reason I feel like someone isn't going to keep the secret. I really hope they do....

I hope you continue to lose of the 2nd phase also! You've already done so well!:carrot:

Good Morning Ladies!! Look! No barfy smilies this morning!!! :carrot:

Nella~ I completely missed your post about the P90X! I'll definitely keep you posted! So far I'm finding it tough, but in a good way and it's not at all boring! He keeps things going and switches things up so much that you don't have a chance to get bored! I love his enthusiasm and he's not over the top 'Denise Austin' enthusiastic, so it's not annoying. Plus, they're really working!!! Panting and sweating right along with me--makes me feel like less of a schlub! A word of caution though--ask whoever you buy it from if they guides really do come with it--mine was listed that way, but he guy was a liar. I ended up finding the workout guide online (for free) and was able to read through it, but I'm still out the nutrition guide and calendar. :( On the HRM--I have the Polar F4, I love it! :) I wish I could have had a little more patience when I bought it and ordered a pink or red one instead of my baby blue one though. ;)

Ruth~ I feel your pain girlie! I went bonkers this weekend and I'm still paying for it! I am up so much that I really need to update my ticker! It's awful! But, I'm up, dusted off and you are too! So let's get back to eating the good stuff and working out!!! Yee haw!!!

Tummy~ I posted about my post P90X soreness over on the exercise thread--feel free to head over there and laugh at me! "Shower sexy time" :lol3: Bwahahahahaha! Yeah, that's not happenin'!! I swear, we can barely squeeze in quick showers alone in this house let alone anything else. No, it was the girls in there with me...sigh...one day I'll shower alone on a regular basis! ;) Congrats on your dd being out of diapers at night!!! I'm still waiting on Ab to stop needing them. Em has been out of them for over a year--she was my earliest to pt full time.

shasha~ yeah, 'over indulge' isn't quite the word I'd use for what I did! Perhaps 'lost my everlovin' mind' is more appropriate I think. ;) I'm over it now--I paid for it dearly yesterday and I think I'll be 100% by tomorrow, I'm back OP and I'm stayin' there!!! Hope phase 2 goes as well as phase 1 did!!! I bet you'll be happy to start adding stuff back in huh?

Delphi~ lay that fryin' pan and rollin' pin on me girlie!!! We don't want them going to waste just sittin' in the cupboard do we? ;) Glad to hear the work is almost done on the house--I'm sure it's irksome to have them there, but it's really cool that the owner is stepping up and making it a nicer place to live for you and your boys! :) Have fun hitting the treadmill today girlie!! :)

ButterflyDiva~ I really gotta check your posts before I eat breakfast! I need to start spicing things up in the mornings! Here's hoping you see that drop today on the ol' scale! :)

MsP~ I hear ya on the mornings coming too fast! Once school starts it seems that the days just seem to whiz right by and there's barely time for sleeping at night! Hope you had a great night sleep last night! :)

Cle~ ooh, I'm a big boredom eater too! I'm better now, but before I would just mindlessly munch all day long if I had nothing better to do--which, I usually did, but I munched anyway. I hope that everyone keeps their lips zipped and that your mom doesn't find out about the party!!!

Okay, so I'm going to change my ticker to reflect my actual weight--it's shocking how much I can gain in a weekend of salty/sugary junk!!! So if I can manage to get back down to 135 before the end of the month I'll call it a victory! Seriously ladies, I gained almost 10 lbs!!! Sodium is the devil!! Not sure what it is that makes me so sensitive to it--but I am and I hate it!!!

So, down a little bit from yesterday (thank goodness) and sitting at 139.4 (or .2, I can't remember) so at least I'm not sitting in the 140's anymore! Whew! Got my 1st workout out of the way and I'll be doing my 2nd one after hubby gets home. I need to tidy the house, hit the grocery store and finish up the laundry (until it reproduces overnight and leaves me more for tomorrow ;)). Other than that--I'm going to chill today. P90X is workin' me! I'm pretty sore and lovin' it!! :carrot: But, it's got me moving a bit slower today.

Happy bit of news to report: Hubby hit the treadmill today! :carrot: I got all :drill: on him this morning and told him to get his butt out of bed and come downstairs with me! I told him I'm not taking no for an answer anymore and the time is NOW! No more excuses!!! Yeah, I let him have it! With love of course. :D He even thanked me for it afterwards!!! ;)

Okay ladies, get out there and have a fantastic day!! And be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!

Sandye Glad the scale came back down some for you. I think I was up almost 3lbs yesterday, I didn't stay on the scale long enough to know for sure, lol. But after a good day of exercise, tons of water, and eating well I'm now only up a pound. Congrats on getting DH on the treadmill. Mine doesn't like the treadmill but he will lift weights or walk/jog outside with me if he has time.

Well the pizza last night turned out delicious. I ate maybe just a touch more than I had planned but still within my calories. I drank extra water yesterday and spent 47 min walking/jogging on the treadmill. As a result I'm only up a pound today. Which I realize now that it wasn't just the cake that sent the scale up, its also pre-TOM water weight. I hate that I only have two good weeks out of every month. The other two weeks, I'm very lucky if I lose anything during that time. Its so aggravating.

Sandye-Surprisingly, the morning was okay. I wasn't completely dragging like some mornings. The run was decent, rain and all. Gotta love fall. Ooh, I printed the lasagna and marinara recipes. Now to actually get the rest of the stuff and make it... Glad you're feeling the P90X, in a good way. Way to keep challenging yourself! You'll have that pukey weight off in no time and get about the business of maintaining. ;) And...Yay on DH hitting the treadmill! Mine has missed walking this past week mainly due to schedule restrictions, but I know he wants to, so we'll find a way to work it in.

Cle-Hope mom's party goes off without a hitch. I hear ya on wanting to let out the skinny girl inside. I'd felt that way for years before I actually was willing to change in order to let it happen, ya know? This is your time! I know you'll continue making the good choices to become even more the incredible woman God created you to be!

I think feeling less sluggish this morning may have something to with finally realizing I need to cut back on some foods that we (my family) have intolerances for. I know I can't cut them out entirely (though yesterday I did a pretty good job of it), but if we can cut back and trade out some stuff for better alternatives, that'd be great. The kids are already showing resistance to the change, so I want it to be gradual and if I'm lucky most of it will go unnoticed! One thing is the peanut butter...we love peanut butter. I had them try almond butter this morning--one DD loved it, one didn't at all. It'll defintely be a learning process, but it's fun to try new things and see what works for us (taste-wise) and what doesn't. Fun, Fun, Fun! I was down a touch this morning to a new low. I'm actually fine with any loss since the middle of the month always messes with me and we're almost there. I just want to not give in to TOM cravings, drink plenty of water, and come out of mid-month unscathed!

Ruth-You and I both! I just saw you posted when I did, but I also feel like I have a rough couple weeks. Mine are in the middle of the month...so I'm hoping to contain it somehow this month!

Morning Ladies,

Nella - No problem, mine's pink with this cool asian inspired display, it's purdy, lol. It's the little things that get you through your day. But it's also nice to see how the workouts are progressing, like you can do the same workout more efficintly and have to work harder.

Shasha- Yes, I'll be sure to take a picture of my nerdy self running down the road, lol, it's gonna look funny but I guess not as funny as me laying in the ditch with my butt in the air. Holy almost 10 lbs in a week! That's crazy talk. I'm sure the way they ease you into the second phases you'll be fine.

Delphi - Oh picture day, I can't wait for that around here, hopefully they keep there tongues in their mouths ;) So when is all the reno time done around the new place? Oh I can't wait for new pics, the time is coming! Those bad ones just make the now pictures look better, but I hear ya, how did we ever look at those and not do something sooner I'll never know.

ButterflyDiva - Hope that loss comes through for you today, TOM is full of surprises.

jellofer - The scale sure is being evil, but it doesn't really stand a chance long term though, running is just a fat melter, plain and simple!

MsP - The almond milk recipe is from an old veggie cookbooks I've had for years so here it is. Oh and I love almond butter, makes me happy, lol. my dd won't eat it either but dh will.

Almond Milk
(makes 2 cups)
1/2 cup blanched almonds (you can buy them white or blanch yourself) - keep in freezer when not using
2 cups water

1. Grind almonds in blender/food processor until a powder
2. Add 1 cup water and blend on high 1 minute
3. Add remaining 1 cup water blend on high 3 minutes
4. Strain through cheesecloth and refrigerate

I find it lasts about 5-7 days in the fridge and just needs a quick shake prior to using b/c it settles a bit.

One thing we found really awesome is almond milkshakes, I've been trying to find ways to remove some dairy for dd and love this recipe too. Use 2 frozen bananas to 1 cup almond milk and whip up in a blender. You can adjust the liquid amount to make it thicker and more like ice cream or thinner for a milkshake. We add cocoa or strawberries and alter the "ice cream" flavour but it's fantastic and all she (or me) is eating is fruit and nuts! The "Almond Dream" variety that is sold I find tastes the best but has some thickeners and chemically stuff that I would prefer not to eat but in a pinch it tastes good anyway. They sell it in chocolate, vanilla and original varieties.

Cle - Ah yes, the boredom eating, I used to eat tired and unhappy alot too, lol.

Sandye - Yes, those solo showers are so nice, one time right after dd was born dh was trying to be all sly and wanted to come and shower too but it was a big no, I never get to shower alone and no one is gonna ruin that, lol. I didn't laugh at you, plyo is still hard, it's doable but I get a great sweat out of it and still burn in the 740-780 calorie range. The nice thing about the resistance days is that the stronger you get the harder you can modify the moves so it never really gets easy as long as you push yourself. I love how they all get totally out of breath too, like when Tony holds his knees before the gap jump and everyone is grimacing and such. I like seeing it be hard for other ppl too cuz it is hard. Wow, 10 lbs now that was some insane amount of sugar and such, you must be sensative to that stuff holy. I popped up a pound after my waffle and felt all bloaty but I concede you were more bloaty, lol. Whoo hoo oh the dh, that's fantastic, did he get to watch you all jumping and such, that would be awesome, no wonder he wanted to come.

Ruth - So glad it's trending down for you too, everyone's heading in the right direction :)

Today was day one of having to do my p90 in the morning b/c dd is not napping super soundly anymore and yesterday was a gong show of strength training. So today up before dawn and jumping around like a crazy person. I do love that it's done early though, it's nice to have the whole day ahead with only bonus workouts left.

It appears that my 22 glasses of water yesterday flushed out whatever issue was sticking me at 162 for the last 7 days. I hadn't realized it was so long until I checked this morning. But 5 days of 162, then 163 yesterday and down 2 pounds today but part of that was bloat. Finally some movement! About frickin time, gee wheez. So glad to see that, would really like me some 150's sooner than later.

TTFN, talk to you ladies later!

Hey Chickies

Just checking in as my internet is out at home again though it wouldn't have made much difference as swamped as I am with work. No time for personals which is a bummer because I miss all you girls!!!

I'm doing my usual maintain until Friday when I usually lose 1-2 lbs. I had a moment of "maaaan" when I realized my weigh-in is next weekend and I'm only 4 lbs from when I last got weighed and then I realized that hey... if I'm trying to lose 8 lbs a month and I've still got 2 weeks left then... DUH I SHOULD be at 4 lbs lost. Sometimes I'm a mental idiot.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry this can't be longer.

Hey everyone, was missing yesterday as DD and I spent our first weekend with the ex. That was weird. We are not getting back together, in fact I have told him I wont even discuss the option of getting back together until at least June of next year. He is doing everything he can to work on his issues and is on meds and going to parenting classes, DV classes, personal counseling, and 2 different VA PTSD groups each week so I really couldnt ask more of him, but I just don't want to rush things, so I think another 8 months is a good way to see how things go. I picked June because both my jobs will be over for the summer too and I will probably be moving then so it might be a good time to figure out what my plans are. Anyways, the ex has a few friends living with him now, so DD and I headed up there and we all hung out and I tried to let DD and him spend as much time together as possible and hung out with our friends instead. Finally he pulled me aside and wanted to know why I was being so cold, and I wasnt...just being distant. It is hard trying to have any kind of relationship with your ex who you havent really seen in over 2 months, so I didnt really know where to start. Later that night we all sat down to watch a movie and he wanted to cuddle and I told him that was too intimate for me and we finally had this big ole talk and I told him I dont want to open myself back up to him until I know what is really going to happen. I know I do love and care for him, and he is DD father, and I know he really loves us and wants more than anything to be together and be a family, but his PTSD is too much to handle sometimes. I know he is taking all the steps he can to work on it right now, but still I dont want to rush back into anything...so am not really sure how to handle this.
Anyways...good news is that both him and our friends all made comments on how great I look. I knew that was a big step for our friends who are guys to say something. I think it is alot easier for a girl to approach another girl and say something about how great you look and have you lost weight, but men are a little scared of bringing up weight. So I know there must be a big difference if guys are brave enough to say something! TOM has finally left and I think bloating must have gone with it as I can fit into so many more clothes now! I think I almost officially fit into more size 18s now than size 20s, and this weekend I pulled out a pair of sz 16s I had and figured Id try them on for goal pants to see how they fit, and they fit now! I was in shock. I had another pair of size 15/16 jr pants I got out and they go on, but dont button, so those are now my official goal pants!
TOM finally went away, but I ate alot more than usual this weekend, so I was still afraid to get on the scale. Then last night after I worked by butt off in the gym (running 16 mins for C25K now!) a little spotting happened again so I have no idea what is going on. I know exercise can really mess with your cycle, but I don't think I am overdoing it. I only exercise for an hr each day and take Sundays off. I usually do cardio (running, elliptical, arc trainer, etc) for 40 -60 minutes and then everyother day I do ST circuits and cut back on the cardio that day. Does that seem like enough to really mess me up? If anything I thought maybe I should be upping my workouts! Well anyways, I have to go to work....but the whole reason I got online was to say that the scale said 249 this morning! Hoping it sticks around.....
Have to run and no time for personals, but I did want to say that Sandye---you look so cute in your 5K photo! You really look awesome---your skinny girl eyes need to appear soon hun because you look gorgeous!!!!!

And Delphi, so glad you are moved in and getting all settled!

Well, off to work hope everyone is doing awesome!

wnabapinup and yoovie ~ :welcome:

jessica ~ I think you are making a sound decision by thinking this whole thing through and simply being patient. So many people lack the ability to just ride the wave..so kudos to you darling and look at you getting compliments. You go girl. :carrot:

Shrinking ~ I hope your get the Internet up and running at home soon and hey, no sweat...slow and steady wins the race darling. :D You are doing just fine...

Tummy ~ 150's sound sooooooooooo dang good. I just wish, I could get my groove back, but I'm sure I will. Good to hear Darth Scale finally let up and you saw some movement. Now I need to get find those pics again. I found them unpacking and I'm almost certain I've lost them again...alas, I will find it. At any rate, have a great day darling.

MsP ~ No worries about those cravings...You can ward them off, no problem. :D

ruth ~ Glad you enjoyed the pizza and I can so relate with the aggravation. I suppose we have to work with what we have and take the losses with a grain of salt... ;)

Sandye ~ Yup, :bravo: to hubby for getting at it this morning. I know you must be very proud....I hope you reward him promptly ;) Anywho, how are the boys holding up at school? And no sweat on that gain, I mean, I'm sure some of it is water anyways. The important thing is you are back on track and feeling great.

Well as for me ladies, it's been a slow day. This is the first day in which I could actually sit down and just relax..but it's kinda boring doing that. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things again. I started back tracking calories and recording my band again, so thats a step in the right direction. Now I just need to sit down and make out an exercise schedule and stick to it. I did get on the treadmill this morning for a little bit, but now I don't have my other computer in there, so theres nothing to watch while I'm on it..which equates to fail and loads of boredom. So I'll get back to my cardio with Maya tomorrow and hope I can meet my five pound goal for the month.

At any rate, I hope you ladies are having a great day. :D

Hey Ladies,

Unfortunately, I'm feeling day 2 of the worst of this cold. I'm not going to class again, but I will force myself tomorrow. And because of that I haven't tried running with my four legged friend quite yet. I plan on going to bed way early tonight and getting up tomorrow with (hopefully) less of a cold. Last thing I want to do is go to school and end up coughing on everyone and can't hear the professor because my ears are so plugged up!

Yesterday I wasn't OP, but I wasn't completely horrible. Today I've started the day OP and will end the day OP, whether I like it or not. ;) So, I'm going to go and run to the medicine cabinet and take something for this cold and curl up on the couch with a blanket.

Tummy-Do you use that on cereal or in your normal cooking? Just wondering its uses. I took a little taste of the almond butter. I liked it, though it was different. I may try another brand next time, just to compare.

I ordered some books from the library about cooking wheat and dairy free. Maybe I'll get some good ideas. Like I said, I'm not going all out yet since I do cook for my MIL too and she may not appreciate me messing with her food that much. But small, subtle changes are my aim until I find some good "staples" for our diet and then we can eat around 75% wheat/dairy free. Thankfully we don't have food ALLERGIES. That would stink. We just think the food intolerances are messing with DH's seasonal allergies and possibly his cholesterol and our weight loss efforts, though I really can't complain. Part of my brain is thinking, "Why change now? What I'm doing has been working for the last 11 months." But if it helps DH even a little with his medical stuff, it'd be worth trying.

Today I have been really cranky. Saw another drop in the scale which I'm happy about, but as usual didn't really plan out my day like I should be on the South Beach. I had my cottage cheese and tomato breakfast and then had some peanutbutter afterwards. Then around 10, I was starving like no other. I notice that I tend to be in a bad mood when I'm hungry and I figured I would save my coworkers the trouble. I ate my Campbell's tomato soup which was so yummy, but not on plan. It has a lot of sugar and preservatives in it, but I feel a lot better now. I have a chicken and spinach salad for lunch, which I am not looking forward to. I'm getting really tired of meat. Last night we had a yummy dinner of tofu and veggies. It was a nice break and I hope to do that more often.

Morning ladies.

Well, I got my HIIT in last night and unfortunately, I think that might have to hold me over exercise wise for a day or two. I have been trying to fend off a cold since last week and managed to stay pretty healthy for the 5K and the rest of the weekend, but started feeling pretty awful by last night. The girls had me up most of the night last night and this morning I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Between DOMS and this cold--which has my head and neck throbbing--I just don't have it in me this morning. Not to mention hubby let me sleep too late and now I don't have time to get my workout in before he leaves. :( However, if I manage to somehow feel better by the time he gets home, I'll do it then, but I think my 3 mile run is going to be scratched off my list today.

It's odd how bummed I am about it! I used to live for excuses not to workout!

Okay, well, I'm off to take some advil or Theraflu if we have it. Hope everyone has a great day! Be sure to drink your water and take your vitamins--it is cold and flu season after all!

I'll be back later to check in and do personals and such.

Good Morning Ladies

Simply a drive by posting for me this morning. Yesterday, I pretty much chilled out and relaxed and streamed movies on Netflix all night. It was nice to just be able to sit down and not do anything. Today is also the last day of school and then the boys will be out for ten days for fall break. I finally get my house straightened out and now I'll have all four boys to deal with over the next few weeks. Grrrrrrrrreat! My arm is still not in operable order, however, I still think I can manage a session with Maya today...and it's well over due. It's been so long, I wonder what she is gonna have to say when I log on. Should be worth a good chuckle at the very least.

Sandye ~ Big hugs coming your way and I do hope you feel better soon.

Velveteen-I cracked up at your "even if I have to chop off an arm to get there" comment! I SO know that feeling. I have wondered in the past how much my hair weighs and how much weight I could drop if I had it short and other silly things like that. It's like you want a certain number to show up so badly and it just won't cooperate! Of course you know it will come soon enough, but patience is an unpleasant lesson to learn in weight loss sometimes (for me anyway), isn't it? Keep on trucking and you'll get there before you know it.

Sandye-Oooh, bummer on the cold. Get some rest if you can and feel better soon. Your body will appreciate the break so it can put it's energy toward healing you up! BTW, here's the link for the 5K program I'm doing now. I would highly recommend starting with the pre-train schedule first to get used to doing 5 days first before (if) you begin. Hope the link works!
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_4/142.shtml

jen7-Feels good to get the scale moving for you, huh? Great job! Just keep making those good choices and you'll see the 50's in no time!

Delphi-Man, that stinks about your arm still being out of comission. Don't strain it or anything while your working out, but good luck on meeting back up with Maya...if only you could explain why you were away, she'd understand. LOL Good to have you back, anyway!

Scale was down another bit today and I got my exercise/water/vitamin in so far. Today was my first day of speed intervals in my new running program and man, I see why HIIT works so well to get people fit and all. I actually did mine a little wrong (according to the program), because I did a warm-up walk, a short warm-up run and then started the intervals, then did the same for cool down (short run and walk). I was supposed to do a 1 mile warm-up run, the intervals, and a 1 mile cool down run. No big deal, I guess. I know now for next time. Oh my gosh, I wanted to walk so bad between the speed portions, but I kept running at a slower pace, like I was supposed to. This program is going to kick my butt a little bit on Wednesdays (that's when I have speed intervals, hill training, etc.). So, it should definitely improve my speed. Sundays are the "long" days when I'll be doing 5-6 miles most weeks which should help with endurance. My longest so far has been about 4 miles, so I'm looking forward to pushing myself to these new distances. We'll see how I feel about it when I'm done. I should keep my eye out for a 5K about the time I'm done with this program and see how my time is. It'll be a challenge finding a good 5K race around Christmas time in northern Wisconsin, but we'll see. Anyway, if my time is noticeably improved, I'll probably jump into the 10K program. Enough about me.. Hope everyone is having a productive, good day!

Just a quick hi from me too, just came in from my run and I'm frozen, we have playgroup today and I'm setting up so we have to leave early too. But I need to go thaw out my body in the shower before anything else. Sandye hope you feel better, my tonsils are starting to get swollen too, not a good sign.

But that nasty old scale agreed with all my hard work this morning and down 0.8lbs :carrot: to 160.8, almost there, yeha!

Hey Ladies,

Aww Sandye, feel better! If it's anything that I'm just getting over, then you'll just have to rest aaaannnnddd Drink your water! ;) I had to, my Grandma told me the same thing.

Today, I'm feeling pretty good. I had a POP day yersterday and today I'm going to take some cold med's to get me through my classes and homework. I think I'm going to hold off on C25K for about 3 weeks, until I'm completely OP with my eating. I don't know if it was my POP day or if this cold's going away, but the scale reads about 215.5-ish. I don't have a digital read out scale. And finished the doggies walks, I upped the walks and now they're ALL (even the big guy) crashed out on the floor. Who'da thought that a few more blocks for the big guy would do it? Oh, and since he has a problem with squirrels, every time he sees one I begin to run until it's behind us. So, that might help be prepare for the C25K.

We Can Do It Ladies. <3

Hi ladies! Well TOM has not returned and the scale stayed below 249 today so I finally changed my tickers.....WOOHOO!!!!!!! :carrot: I am officially closer to 200 than 300 lol. Man it has taken me like 3 weeks just to lose those last few pounds....so I am def jazzed. After the scale finally said 249 I was afraid to change my tickers but the scale was actually down to 248 and some change today so I accept it!
Anyways...as you can tell, I am excited!!!!

Sandye---Sorry to hear you are getting sick--just take it easy and relax, you deserve it! Youll be feeling better soon and can get in your running then. I know what you mean about missing exercise though..I can't go to the gym on Sundays as they dont have any childwatch, and I always feel like I should be there, lol.

Ms Perception--I am the same way about thinking up weird ideas to lose weight....chopping my hair and who really needs a pinky anyways? ;)

Velveteen--sorry to hear about Aunt Flo returning and knicking the scale up. Trust me after that last episode of Aunt Flo staying for 3 weeks, I feel your pain! Hopefully yours will go away soon and you will see that big after TOM whoosh!

Everyone else--congrats on the drops girls! I noticed alot of them throughout the posts! Yay for us!

Hey Ladies .... finally checking in this week and have done really bad in my eating. Ever since Sunday I went to eat chinese buffet...... bad bad bad. But Monday did good until dinner, crockpot wasnt put on, so I picked up pizza, yesterday went out to eat Italian, had healthy breakfast and dinner, healthy breakfast and first lunch, but then was hungry so had a hamburger and doughnut. My problem is planning today, I didnt pack enough. I have long days and need to bring more snacks with me and I didn't, so better planning on my part. On the other side did great exercising; did a little over 60 minutes yesterday and today plan on 60; have done 30 so far. Gotta get to my homework!

I hope all you ladies are doing great!!! I PLAN on being better the rest of the week. My birthday is about 15 weeks away and want this weight off!!!!!

I am back. I strayed for a couple months because so much was going on and never came back. The really bad thing is I didn't keep up with what I was doing either. I do not have a WI number yet, but I intend to do it in the morning, I just wanted to get on here now, before I lost my nerve. I need to get back on track and I need to stop waiting. I threw all my hard work out the window, even worse since school started back up. The good news though is that I have found a work out buddy who already frequents the gym. I will be going with her 3 days a week starting friday, so at least I can say something positive. I'm going to attempt to drop 5 lbs this month.

Well, super fast fly by post before I head to bed--thanks for all the get well wishes girls! They must have done something because I somehow managed to find the strength to get all my workouts in today! :carrot: Yes, even the 3 miles!! I have a feeling I'll be paying for it tomorrow with more DOMS and my cold still hanging around, but hubby brought home some more Theraflu so I think I'll be okay. If not, I'll just have to fake it right Delphi? ;)

Okay ladies, hopefully I will have some time to do personals tomorrow! Hope everyone had a great day!! I'll catch you all in the morning!! :)

Good Morning Ladies!!! :D

Ruth~ Mmmm, pizza!! I love a good pizza! That's what started the whole binge-fest last weekend! Yours sounds much healthier than the junk I ate though. I really need to try to make my own sometime.

MsP~ hope you're able to find everything you need for the lasagna! I had to go to 3 stores before I found the fat free ricotta! Congrats on the loss, I hope you're able to resist the pre-TOM cravings--be strong!!! Your run sounds like it was nice, I'm really enjoying running outside in the cooler weather! Thanks for the link hun, I'm going to check that out today!

Tummy~ yeah 10 lbs!!! Can you believe that? I mean for the love of Pete! I'm still trying to get rid of it...Solo showers are the BEST! Ahh, especially after a good workout or if you're chilly--ahhh! Thanks for posting the almond milk recipe--I haven't ever had the guts to try almond/rice/soy milk before--it kind of creeps me out a bit to honest, but I might just try the almond milk and maybe make a milkshake out of it! :D You're so close to 150's!!! :carrot: Come on scale--MOVE!!! Hope you're not coming down with a cold too!! Vitamin C baby!!! Hey, btw, what kind of mat do you have in your basement? I really need to get some!!

SG~ a 'mental idiot' I'm right with ya hun!!! Sorry to hear the internet is out again--we do so miss your witty posts! :) Hope everything is going well at work and home and everything!! :)

jessica~ glad to hear the weekend with the ex went well, although awkward at times. I think you're being so smart about not rushing things!! It must be so hard, especially given that you still love him and all, but you're doing the right thing!! He needs to work on his issues so that they don't cause any stress on you and your dd. It sounds like he's really working on it, so that's fantastic! So glad TOM finally left!! Geez! That jerk really overstayed his welcome huh? If you get him back next month, I sure hope it's not a repeat of this last one!! You did a great job toughing that out hun!! And thanks for the sweet words about my pic. :) Congrats on the loss too!! :woohoo:

Kelly (wnabapinup)~ :welcome: You've found the best bunch of girls around!!! Jump right in and good luck on your goals this month!! :)

Delphi~ I hear ya on the treadmill boredom! I did my 3 miles on it yesterday and even with the TV on I was bored to tears! Hopefully you got to work with Maya and that you got a good workout! The boys are holding up okay, my oldest isn't having as good a time as last year and is struggling a bit with math. My younger one is having more fun, but maybe a little too much as he is getting himself in trouble with chatting in class...hmmm, wonder where he gets that? :blah: ;) Have fun with the boys on their break! I kinda wish the boys had a long break like that--their Fall break is all of 2 days! Sheesh!

Molly~ sorry to hear you were sidelined with a cold, hopefully you're feeling tons better by now! Sounds like you gave those pups quite a workout yesterday!! Now if you can do that, you're definitely getting in a good workout yourself! :)

shasha~ oooh, diet grumpies stink! I get uber grouchy when I'm hungry so I can totally relate! In fact, if I'm not pms'ing and I'm super crabby, hubby always asks me, "have you eaten anything?" he knows me well. My oldest is the same exact way, he can be quite a bear in the mornings! Sorry you're getting sick of meat--I felt the same way when I did Atkins years ago. Maybe you could eat some cheese or eggs instead? A nice omelette for dinner perhaps?

Mystical~ hey hun! Sounds like you've been busy lately!! So, did you sign up for the gym? How exciting!! I'd love to have time to go to the gym--alone that is  However, we don't have the money right now anyway, so alas, I'm stuck doing my workouts here--but I'll survive. ;) Have a great day!

Cle~ oooh, it sounds like you're going to have a lot of people at the party! That's going to be so much fun!!!! :carrot: Refresh my memory, is the party this weekend or next? I can't wait to hear all about it!! :)

jen7~ 'how do you get your hubby on the treadmill' well huh, lemme tell ya, I'm still trying to figure that out. I've been trying to get him to work out regularly for a while now and he's just not wanting to. He's gotten on the treadmill a couple of times, but he loves to make up excuses!! He's either too tired, not feeling well, has a headache, doesn't have time, blah, blah, blah. The kicker is, he's the one with the health issues that make exercise so much more important! He has high triglycerides and a family history of heart disease...and yes, he's overweight too. It's a fine line trying to get him on board...I don't want to nag him to death or make him feel bad (I know I would have gotten mad and it would have hurt my feelings if he had ever nagged me work out when I was overweight), but at the same time, he needs to do something or he's facing an unhealthy future. Congrats on staying on plan!!! I hear ya on this thread--we're a chatty bunch so it can be hard to keep up. :)

Jellofer~ :carrot: congrats on the loss!!! Have you entered a new decade today? Congrats on joining up with a gym soon! I know once the snow starts falling I'll be thankful I have my boring ol' treadmill to run on! :)

FitGirlyGirl~ Happy Anniversary! Hey listen, don't sweat the gain, it's all water. You'll lose it in no time!! And if it makes you feel any better, I splurged on our Anniversary last month and gained 4 lbs!!! It took me all week to lose that dang weight--but I did!!! So hang in there, it'll be gone before you know it! :)

Taurie~ Congrats on the loss girlie!! :carrot: Woo hoo!

Velveteen~ Well, I hope you still have both your arms today! ;) Congrats on the loss hun! Sometimes the body is a weird thing isn't it? Keep up the journaling, it really is helpful! :)

ButterflyDiva~ :carrot: Congrats on the loss hun! That's awesome!

helpmelose~ we all have days/weeks like that! Planning is tough for me too--and I'm a sahm! I don't know if I'd ever eat OP if I had to leave the house for work everyday. Great job on the exercising! Now just plan, plan, plan and you'll be set!!! :)

JasonsLea~ hey girlie! Hope that you're wrong about possibly losing that job! Hang in there hun!!! Hope you get some down time soon!

Nella~ thanks hun, I'm feeling loads better today! :) Sorry to hear your SD is sick--I've got one of my boys home today too--it's going around. :( Pretty much everyone in our house is feeling it in some way.

Susie~ Hey girlie!!! Nice to see you hun!!! Hope everything is going well with you! :)

Well girls, I'm feeling much better today. Still got a little something going on, but I don't feel like death warmed over so I consider myself 'well'. I haven't gotten any workouts done yet today which, as you can imagine, has my feathers all ruffled. I overslept (girls were up again all night) and since I was able to squeeze in both my workouts yesterday with the girls awake I figured I'd try it again today.

Yoga is on schedule for today--I'm a little nervous, I've never done yoga and all that balancing looks tough! I'm having some serious DOMS today still too--I imagine I'll be hobbling and wincing for a while until I get the hang of this new workout. Perhaps some Motrin will help huh?

Still holding onto a bit of my weekend weight, but I'm down some more today. I really need to up the water today, I've only gotten in about 64oz the last couple of days and I'm still retaining so I know I need more.

Well girls, I better get going, I need to call in ds' absence to the school and then clean up the kitchen. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and don't forget to...

Hellooooo Chickies! (betcha thought you were rid of me!)

Wellllll, the internet is stupid and hates my house. It's been on and off now for about what, 2 weeks? No biggie except I don't like to take the time to post here during work so much. So let's see... the big questions:

How's the Weight Loss? It sucks. I'm so impatient and I seem to lack a clear concept of how quickly one should lose weight. I'm hovering within the 205.8 and 206.8 range and I really should be much lower than this by now. It's only disappointing because I was so hoping to see Onederland and quite frankly, I doubt it will happen. However, I will continue to think positively.

How's the Eating Eating is good. I even passed up cake in the teacher's lounge the other day and didn't even really blink. "Meh... cake is so sugary." hahahaha Apparently, if I pretend I'ma food snob, my body/brain believes me!

How's the Exercise Well, I missed my work out for the first time.... um... maybe ever on Monday and I agonized over it and then realized the world won't end because I didn't burn those 250 calories. I don't like missing the work outs though.

I'm sorry I don't have time for personals. I miss you girls sooooo much and will try to catch up with everyone's news this weekend when you are all MIA and having fun!

May you all be losing weight at a faster pace than I! And may you all wake up tomorrow totally in love with the way your thighs look. (I don't know, it just sounded good.)

Morning Ladies,

Still feeling life death warmed over, so I'm taking it easy today, will try Yoga this afternoon but just going to cuddle up on the couch for most of the day. Dh is off work today so I can actually be lazy!

Not feeling up to long computer sessions today so just wanted to say welcome back to Gekster! I was just thinking about you and Glutio yesterday during my run and hoping things were alright. And the only shame is giving up so jump right back in.

Sandye - I have those interlocking foam mats that they make for kids playrooms in my basement. I use the Yoga mat as well for ab/yoga/stretching but to cushion the impact the mats work. I bought 16 squares (4 packages) and put them together in a four by four square and ta-da a gym floor! I believe you can get them at wal-mart, I see them everywhere. Hope that helps and Yoga will be fun, it's pretty challenging and you'lll fall all over but it gets so much easier when you stick to it, good luck!

Down another smidge to 160.6 today, it's coming, like jaws, I can here the 150's lurking.

I'm so glad the weekend is almost here. My friend is visiting and she loves disney land. We might be going on Saturday. I hope we do because I haven't been in a long time and we would be walking around a ton. I would just have to keep eating in check while we are there. I have had a couple of slip ups on Phase 1 so for of SB. I had a lean pocket yesterday and I have ordered some salads at restaurants that have had some shredded carrots in it. I felt bad, but it has not affected my weight loss yet. I hope I can report a good number tomorrow.

Hey Ladies,

Sandye Yoga is difficult, but I think it's more so with a video. I tried it on a video in the past and hated it. Then for some reason last year I signed up for yoga through college and loved it!

Well ladies, I'm doing great. A little chilly and the cold is trying to hold on, but the past couple of days while I've been eating OP and at least walking the dogs it seems to be slipping away and so are the pounds! I contribute the pounds to the eating and water. I'm back down to 214. Which means I am no longer going to weigh myself (practically) daily, only once a week. And it means I have 9 more pounds until I get to my October goal.

Yesterday I went ahead and did the C25K despite deciding I was going to wait. Man, are the front of my thighs sore! I also decided that on the days that I do C25K, I'll go to the park and run there and then come home and walk the doggies.

Also, this morning I just walked the dogs and my pedometer-watch said I already walked 5818, from just walking the dogs. I was shocked! That explains why I can see myself thinner this morning. Which made me realize that instead of holding off on the C25k, I'm going to hold off on STing until I hit a plateau. I'm just going to keep walking the dogs, walking to and from school, the C25K and when I get home (after I've done all that and school) I'm going to see how many more steps I need to get to 10,000.

I just need to loose 3 pounds each week to get to my goal. If I keep eating every 3 hours and walking like a maniac, I'll get there and look amazing for my friend's wedding. :)

Well, now that I'm done rambling I'm going to go get ready for school, pack my two meals. (I eat right before my first class and right after my last class, 12 and then 3.) And then I might have a few minutes to read my text book before going to school.

We Can Do It Ladies! <3

Hi Ladies

I was MIA yesterday, just so busy trying to do stuff. I made some cultured veges (can I hear mega probiotics and enzymes!). Today I made yogurt, its incubating right now. I'm not for sure whats going to be for dinner tonight, I think either chicken or shrimp, red lentils for sure, and some kind of green vege. Things are not going that great up til now for the week. Tues and yesterday no exercise and cravings have been crazy (thanks PMS). Last night I wanted a potato dish (specifically mashed potatoes or potato salad) so bad I couldn't stand it and I didn't have any potatoes. MIL gave me some instant potatoes. I know, I know that's terrible. I rarely even cook potatoes but it was the need for carbs that was driving me insane I guess. If that wasn't bad enough FIL calls to say he made cake, "Cake!!" (the kids and I jump in excitement) so he brings up cake AND ice cream. So I go to bed filling full and disgusted with myself. Oh well, today is going well so far and I'm determined I will get on that treadmill before the day is up.

SandyeThanks for the well wishes!!! Nope, haven't joined yet. Was thinking about it today, but I think I will wait til next week. I have much to accomplish the rest of this week and another exam on Tuesday. Then will add gym to my regime. Plus, TOM has called and although he will not tell me when he is coming, my body is telling me in the within a day or 2! So, why waste money at the gym trying to get started with him around. I gotta work all weekend also. So, next week. For Serious.

I haven't made it into the next decade yet. Still hanging. But, I am thinking after TOM!!!

ShrinkingAMYI know how you feel. I sat with the same 251 for over a week. Then finally it moved. I started to get a bit encouraged. I truly believe that the body has to make it's own adjustments at times and then will follow what is actually happened. Sometimes I feel that the scale and the inches lost don't keep up with one another.

Have a great day ladies.

Well, today was good and all, but to be honest I cannot wait for tomorrow. It's my day off exercise, which my body is sort of begging for, and we have NO plans. Honestly, I'm hoping to just be a total slug (and eat OP, of course). I know that sounds awful, but I really need a down day. I love my running and ST'ing, but I'm a little worn down. We've been having crazy busy weeks with getting the construction stuff lined up on our house, the kids' school stuff, DH's work stuff, dental and chiro appts....the list goes on and on. This will be a much needed break is all I'm saying. I know you all can understand that from your own experience. Anyway, have a great night ladies and I look forward to hearing from y'all tomorrow!

Imdedicated: I was there with you on the weight gain a few days ago, here's hoping yours goes away fast and takes some extra with it as well.

Mystical: Cornbread dressing sounds yummy. Oh so tempting! Congrats on the great gym deal and the weight loss.

I have lost my anniversary / start of TOM weight and then some and having weighed in at 199 yesterday and 198.8 today am firmly in Onderland, woohoo! 5 more pounds to go to get to my October goal. I can do this!

Good morning and Happy Friday to you all! :carrot: Am I ever glad the weekend is almost here! Well...sort of...

SG~ girl, just so you know, if you leave--I'm going to hop in my car and find you, drag you back to my house and make you post daily on my working computer!! Your students (and your hubby) would just have to suffer without you until I finished pounding some sense into you for leaving--of course, that would never happen right? Because you wouldn't even think of leaving our little group...Riiiiiiiiight?:club: I hear ya on the weight loss! I think Darth is having fun punishing me for my binge last weekend and my body is making darn sure that I don't do it again by taking forever to purge the junk out of my system and get me back down to my previous weight. I'm even up a little today! You just keep fighting the good fight, as Delphi says, and you'll see those numbers drop! WTG passing up the cake! That's mind over matter for ya! ;) Hope the internet is up and working again at your house soon! I'm missing our daily SG wit!! :)

Tummy~ oh I do hope you're feeling better today! I hope the day off yesterday did some good! :) Yoga was fun! Tough but fun! I had no idea I'd be doing it for 90 mins though! Somehow I managed it with 3 kids up and around so for that alone I'm happy. ;) I haven't done my P90X today yet--I've decided that trying to do my 3 mile runs after hubby gets home, or after the boys get home and before dinner is just too tough. I like running in the morning darn it! So I'll tackle Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X this afternoon. Oh, have I mentioned how crazy hard Ab Ripper X is? Yowza!! Thanks for the tip on the mats--I had some of those, of course I got rid of them . I'll have to check the resale shops around town and see if I can find some cheap! Hubby's not thrilled with the prospect of me spending more money on exercise stuff right now. And I'll be needing 10 lb hand weights next!! ;)

shasha~ oh Disneyland!!! I love that place! Oddly enough though, I love it without my kids more than with them. My kids aren't big on rides and stuff--weird huh? I was once plucked out of the crowd and pulled into the parade to dance and stuff! It was fun. :) I wouldn't worry too much about eating bad at the park--that stuff is crazy expensive and if you just keep that in mind, that should be deterrent enough! ;) Pack some SB friendly snacks/meals and take them with you and you'll be good to go! :) Have fun!!

Molly~ Congrats on the loss and for starting the C25K!! Your doggies are going to be worn out by the end of the week! And I bet they lose a few pounds too! ;) Now, as for the strength training...I know you've decided to hold off until you hit a plateau, but...if you add st'ing 3 times a week you'll see the weight come off faster. Not to mention you'll look even more amazing for your friend's wedding! :D No pressure of course, but just wanted to remind you that st'ing is so beneficial to getting the pounds off and getting that fat burning! :)

ruth~ I would love to spend a week at your place just following you around the kitchen! You made your own yogurt?! And cultured veggies? I've never heard of that! All that and you home school...amazing!! And here I was super proud of my homemade granola! Sorry to hear PMS is messing with you--cravings are so hard to fight sometimes!! Hang in there!!

jellofer~ makes sense to me! I mean, if you're not going to use the gym for a week--why sign up? I just read an article by a lady who signed up for a gym and she compared it to buying a car! She said that the people who sign you up start off with the highest possible fees and if you hold your ground and refuse to sign up for that price that you can get them to reduce the costs. She was quoted a crazy price when she went it, something like $85/mo each for her and her husband and a $300 initiation fee to boot--when all was said and done, she ended up not paying an initiation fee and their membership was $85/mo total for the both of them. Crazy huh? Hope you get a great deal on your membership!! :)

Mystical~ Aww, your poor hubby! I hope he's feeling better today! $15/mo?!?! That's crazy cheap!!!! Where on earth did you find that smokin' deal? Now see, if I could find a deal like that, I'd sign up in a heartbeat!! That's awesome! Have fun this weekend with Thanksgiving! I'm sure everyone will love your Southern cooking! I mean, come on, who doesn't love Southern cooking? :) Congrats on the loss too! That's fantastic!! :carrot:

Cle~ aha! So you have time yet to prepare, that's great! I'm a total last minute planner and I end up making myself crazy! Dang TOM and his water weight! No matter, shake it off--it'll be gone soon!! :)

MsP~ hun, I hear ya! And for what it's worth, I'm tired after just reading about how tired you are! Enjoy the day off and relaaaaaaaaaax!!!! You've more than earned it!! :)

ShrinkingAmy~ I'd be going nuts too! Hope you get new batteries soon! And thanks for reminding me--I need some 9Vs for the smoke detectors!!

Well ladies, I think the cold is nearly outta here! It's gone enough for me not to be bothered by it anyway. Now if I can just get the kids healthy, we'll be golden!

Scale is up today--not sure why, but I'm not going to fret over it. Perhaps it's water from all the P90X? Maybe I'm eating too much? (around 1500 a day) Maybe because I'm not calorie cycling? Maybe I'm not eating enough and the old bod is in starvation mode? Although I'm not feeling hungry so I doubt that's it. Maybe my body is just punishing me still for the horrible way I treated it last weekend. I'm sorry body!! I really am! Now let go of it and let me get rid of this weight!!!!!

Guess what I made yesterday? :D Homemade peanut butter honey granola bars!!! Oh they are yummy!! And there's 9 grams of fat per bar so I'm getting my healthy fats in! (you ladies know how I struggle with that ;)) I found it on this blog: http://www.activelifecooking.com/ so many great recipes on her blog and I can't wait to try more!!! I made the bars slightly bigger though, so they're higher in calories. ;)

Anyway, nothing new to report here--boys are both at school and I need to hit the grocery store today. Yay...NOT! It's raining, raining, raining here and I love it! Although I doubt I'll be loving it when I'm loading the girls in and out of the van later!

Okay, well ladies, I'm outta here! Hope everyone has a great day! And for you ladies who go MIA over the weekend, here's some :dust: for you all! Stay strong, stay OP and take care of yourselves!!! Now get out there and have a great day and don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!

Sorry I forgot to post on Monday... I'm down 6, plus the 3 from last week... so I'm thinking that 265 may be really possible as it's early in the month. I slid my size 20 jeans on the other day and was able to button them, but they were not exactly comfortable...
I will do some personals later! Have a good day!

Morning Ladies,

Shasha - Happy weekend! Oh, I hope you have a blast at Disney, what fun.

Miss Mallee - Congrats on starting the running, that's awesome and I'm so glad the scale started moving for you, you've been working really hard and it's nice to see it paying off.

Ruth - That sounds like a long couple of days but they're over and you're getting so close to those 160's, just one day at a time. Or if it's like my pre tom cravings one minute at a time is more like it.

Jellofer - I have a feeling 240 will come knocking pretty soon if you're pre tom and going to jon the gym. I believe that weight is going to run away screaming very soon.

Mystical - Just don't forget the coffee from Tim Hortons and you'll be fine ;) OMG you're lost 2.5 in 9 days girl, that's incredible! See this is totally your month! Let us know how this afternoon goes at the gym. And Happy Turkey Day in October!

Cle - LOL, I like that, it is what it is, I say that to myself a lot these days too, it's very true and reassuring all at the same time.

MsP - You know, I was just thinking the same thing yesterday, slug, ahhhh. I switched rest days to accommodate a run down feeling day and it was heaven, not to mention I feel pretty darn awesome today. But after weeks and months of pounding the body sure enjoys it's breaks. Hope yours is completely and utterly uneventful today.

Amy - I would be weighing myself in wal-mart, lol, go get that fixed omg! Not that we have issues or anything ;)

FitGirllyGirl - :cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: Onderland, welcome, welcome! It's a marvelous place here and congrats many times over. Soak it all in, it's a fabulous accomplishment!

Sandye - Feeling much better thanks so much. One of the benefits of being uber healthy is that if I catch it early and take care of myself, my body is able to not get sick. This is the third time I think this has happened. Where b/f I would have had tonsilitis (I used to get it 4x a year before) and now it just flares up a bit and then gets beaten down by my bad @ss immune system. Isn't healthy marvelous?! Nice day of laying on the couch and eating soup too, just switched yoga to Sunday and altered rest days to make it up. Yes, yoga is interesting, lol, did you enjoy right angle pose with your arms behind your back, burn baby burn. That ones tough as all get out. The abs are ridiculous. I belive it took me until the end of week 2 before I could do all the moves with stopping but you were doing a lot more ab work before this than I was too so you'll be there in no time. It's actually one of my favorites now, go figure. Oh yes the extra money is a little crazy, I had 5lb weights then I needed 8's then 10's and now we have 12's and 15's and I'm in dire need of some 20's but I'm holding off so dh doesn't lose his hair. I just pause it and do extra reps until I find the burn now.

Kim - Woohoo on the loss, I'm thinking 260's are very very possible! Way to go!!

Just finished my 1 hour 40 minute run in the -12 degree weather. It was pretty good actually, I even was kind of dance running around 60 minutes cuz I really rocking song came on the ipod, lol. Oh have times changed. My hair froze solid from the frozen sweat and it was a bit windy but who cares, where there's a will and a lot of space age fabric, there's a way! It was my first snowy run too, we got our first snow fall yesterday, not tons but winters here to stay.

Feeling much better today, tonsils are back down to their usual size and I don't feel so "run over." I'm so incredibly thrilled, my usual routien was tonsils swell, three days of barely eating, go to doctor for antibiotics for full blown tonsil infection, mouth wash to kill nasty tonsil germs and a week later I'd be starting to get better. Now it's one day of rest and it's done. Being heathy is super cool! Scales up 0.6 today but I ate a lot of soup yesterday and sodium and my butt are great friends so they like to hang out when they get a chance.

To all my fellow Canadian ladies, Happy Thanksgiving Long Weekend:turkey: (this turkey appears to be on speed, lol)! Hope everyone has a plan to survive and thrive while navigating the gravy boats and pumkin pie (and the family.)

Hey girlies! My day off is actually being somewhat productive, but still relaxing. A little laundry, a few phone calls, some minor cleaning, and food prep...nothing too taxing. I think the IDEA of having the day off, plus sleeping in a bit, actually makes me think it's a relaxing day even if I do a little work. I do plan to read and watch a movie to make it a truly sluggish day, though. :D Hope you all are having wonderful days.

Sandye-It was actually the Fire Roasted crushed tomatoes I was having trouble finding. The other ingredients were at the regular store. I'm making the sauce today and the lasagna tomorrow. I'm halving the recipe so we can try it before I commit to 2 pans. ;) Wish me luck convincing DH he loves it!

Tummy-Glad you're awesome immune system is fighting hard for ya! Just another beautiful reason to be healthy. Oh, and happy C'nuck Thanksgiving! Eat with caution!! HeeHee

To all the losers..CONGRATS! I am up a touch today, but should be able to stabilize with my OP eating today. I'm pretty confident I'll see this weight plus some extra leave in the next few days. Yesterday was a slightly higher cal/point day, which usually helps to let some weight come off the few days after that. I'm drinking my water and taking my vitamin. Tonight's supper has a little more sodium, so I'm gonna down some water and hope to dilute it some. Point is I'm not gonna let the middle of the month scare me. I'm gonna plan, plan, plan and it should keep me from eating a bunch of junk.

Hello again girls!!

KimL~ Awesome job on the loss!! Wow! That's great!! Keep up the great work hun!

Tummy~ Brrrrrr! Girl, you're braver than I am! I ran on the treadmill this morning and it was only chilly and pouring outside! I doubt that I'll ever be able to run in the hard core cold--just not my thing. But, so long as I keep running, that'll be good enough for me. Soooo glad you're feeling better!! I hear ya on being healthy--I don't get sick all that much anyway, but I was basically only feeling miserable for half a day! Before if I woke up feeling like that, it meant at least couple of days of feeling crummy and there's no way I would have been up for a workout. The pose got me hobbling and hopping was the one where you have to reach under your leg and grab your other hand !!!!! As my sister would say, "Daaaaang son!" that was tricky! As for the Abs--there's no way my other ab workout compares--trust me when I say I have a long road ahead of me to get through the entire workout without a break (or 15-20 of them )!!! But it's gooooooooooood!!! :D

MeowMix~ WTG girlie!!! That's the way to start the month! Yeah!

Shasha~ great job on the loss hun--although getting to '140 by Monday' might prove to be a bit tricky dontcha think? ;) Hee hee, I do, however, think you can TOTALLY make it to 240 by Monday! Piece of cake hun!!

Cle~ like I said, you're a better woman than I! I don't know why, but party planning just isn't my thing. ;) You're welcome for the link--I love to pass along yummy recipes and such!

MsP~ Oh yeah! Those were tricky to spot! I found them next to the pasta sauces. However, they didn't have crushed, only diced so I took them home and took my immersion blender to them! Rrrrrrrrrr!!! Looked pretty crushed when I got through with them! ;) Hope your hubby likes it! Word of warning: TIME!!! You're going to need lots of time for chopping, slicing and prepping--so don't go starting this if you want to eat in an hour k? ;) I think you're going to do great mid month girlie! You can do it! You've got a plan, just stick to it! We're here for ya if you start to wobble k? :)

Well, I decided to nix the store for the day. Em is not feeling well and I just didn't feel like going anyway--especially since I only need a couple of things and I can just get them tomorrow.

I totally forgot to mention something before!!! My Little Brother and his wife are going to have their 2nd baby girl today!!! :carrot: At around noon their time (which is just a couple of hours from now) I'll be an Aunt again!! I can't wait to see pics of her!!!! :D

Also, my Mom has been MIA for a bit but rest assured that she's still in it to win it! She's been crazy busy with work, taking kids here and there, ya know, life in general and she's now in Vegas with her Best Friend!!! So, send her some Happy Slot Machine vibes if you would! ;) PARTY ON MOM!!!! :celebrate: Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Lastly, I wore my HRM for the first time while doing a P90X workout today (I just plain forgot to wear it all week--d'oh!!) and man was I shocked!!! I burned 359 calories doing my workouts today! I can tell ya with 100% certainty that I never did that with my old ST'ing workout!!! Booyah! So, combined with the 423 cals I burned running this morning--maybe I'm not eating enough after all! And wow am I pumped!! Woo hoo!!

Okay, well, Em's being super whiny so I better get going. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Howdy girls!!! Well, I am back to where I was at the end of September. I'm not sure how I went up, but I'm back to 177.2 this morning. Did JM's Boost Metabolism video last night, and I am sore!!! I'm taking the night off because I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Friday is typically date night for me and DH, but I'm going to make a chicken curry tonight instead. Save some cash and then I can calculate a little better the calories. Plus with DH's gluten intolerance, it is hard to eat out. That gluten lurks in strange places and cross contamination is always a worry.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Happy Friday ladies. Workout is done for the day and for the week so I can relax until Monday. Yay!
Sadly the food is running out (hey I made it last over 2 weeks that's a first for me  ) and I won't be able to go shopping until probably Tuesday. So my menus for for the next few day will be less creative and small.

Yesterday's menu
B- strawberry oatmeal
S- string cheese
L- wheat pasta
S- wheat crackers and peanut butter
D- grilled cheese sandwich on wheat with salad
S (tried something new) french vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry syrup, walnuts and coconut flakes

Today's menu
B- wheat toast with jam
S- apple, string cheese
L- grilled cheese on wheat
S-mixed veggies
D- Don't know yet but it will involve ground turkey

I am still in the game. But I am sitting at 179 with 8 more to go. All my doing.

Hi!
I banned myself from the computer all week seeing that if I make it in here then the hours seem to magically disappear.
I am still working on rectifying all the disordered eating from the last few weeks. The kitchen is finally unpacked and organized and I have bought real food too and that is definitely helping.
The new place has 3 levels and I had been doing things to minimize the amount of times I had to go up and down the stairs in a day. Today I realized that the more times I climb, the more calories I burn so now I am going up and down for every little thing I need to get or drop off, Yay!, built in exercise :carrot:

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends, Happy weekend to the rest of you.

Sandye-I actually bought the diced ones too and didn't even put them in the blender. When I made the sauce, I noticed it's similar in consistancy to my normal homemade sauce, so it should be fine. I did LOVE the smell of the sauce. I've been making lasagna on a regular basis (every couple months) for years with many variations (I have a yummy mexican one, too), and this looks fairly similar in prep time, so I should be okay there.

Tummy-They're talking flurries or a light snow here tomorrow. I promptly went on ebay to look for running tights to wear under my pants! Any suggestions? I'm definitely buying some tomorrow because there isn't a big warm-up in sight (I think it's supposed to get up to high of 50F late next week, but we'll see). The mornings are so chilly and dark. I should find my little ipod shuffle and listen to some tunes, but I have no idea where it ended up in the move!

Anyway, congrats to you who are seeing nice losses! I am so excited to see you girls doing well!! Keep up the good choices and active living! I'm OP today and getting no love from the scale, so I'm gonna just keep on keeping on. Making the yummy butternut squash lasagna tomorrow and have all the weekend meals planned so I don't stray. Weight loss and I have not been friends mid-month lately, so we'll see if we can't make ammends and turn that trend around. Even if not, I'm really PLANNING to avoid major slip-ups and not let the scale discourage me. Tonight we were hungry for ice cream, so i went to the store and bought some Weight Watchers ice cream bars. Yay! I didn't buy the pint of Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby....sure, I looked at it, but I BOUGHT the WW bars. There's a NSV! Here's hoping for more healthy choices this weekend!!

Hey girls
Just checking in tonight. Things still seem to be at a standstill, the scale goes down then back up,then back down. I did pretty well yesterday and today. Although I did have a doughnut today. DH had a pot luck at work and someone gave him some krispy kremes which he brought home along with a bunch of the pot luck food. I ate pretty good except the doughtnut but I feel like I did well since I only ate one, lol. I do have a weakness for doughnuts but I rarely eat them.

Sandye hehe..cultured veges are kinda like saurkraut but not exactly. I make them for health reasons and think of them as medicine and an easy way to get some veges in every day with our meals. I haven't made any for awhile. I made these with cabbage, carrots, daikon radishes, beets, scallions, fresh ginger and garlic, real sea salt, and a little red chili pepper. I shred it up fine with my food processor, pound it with a meat hammer to bring out the juices, pack it into jars, and let it sit on the counter for a few days to culture. They are great for the immune system, bowels, and anyone that has a problem with yeast in the body. I make my yogurt with our fresh goat milk in a yogurt maker which is easier than trying to incubate it in jars. What about you and all that baking, lol, my dh would love it if I would bake more often. I am trying to get back into making bread, tonight I'm planning on getting some pancake (whole grain) batter ready for tomorrow. My son is always asking for pancakes but I never make them. I went to Whole Foods the other day (I love that store!) and got some more wheat berries so I can grind it into flour with my vitamix. Anyway, I better shut up, I could talk all day about health foods, lol. I just wish I had the willpower to not eat anything else but the good foods.

Have a great weekend girls!

Just a quickie, going to watch some tv with dh...

MsP - I have Nike DriFit for my base layer and it is fantastic. My outer layer was partly frozen from sweating but the base layer was dry. I didn't realize it until I got home, now that's some mositure wicking! It's also uber warm, my skin was a bit red last week b/c I wasn't wearing the tights but today in the wind and the cold I was toasty. Enjoy your snow, it looks like Christmas here tonight, big flakes and all. A bit early but what can you do.

Morning Ladies,

Meowmix - You're doing so fantastic! And we're only day 10.

Shasha - Are you almost done phase 1 now? It seems like a long time already but it's two weeks if I remember correctly. Hope you're weekend goes great.

Cle - Sandye is the recipe queen, lol, I think like 5 of us have made her lasagna recipe now, it's marvelous!

MsP - Glad you enjoyed your day off, they are just delightful to stay home and bum around doing all the odds and ends. Hope you enjoy your lasagna, it's a new favorite over here.

Sandye - Yes, I can say it's rather not my thing either, this cold running stuff. The road was still fairly gravelly yesterday and not too snowy but that's history now, it's been snowing for two days straight. I'm just hoping I can still breath through the cold air, but there's a lot of great helpful info out there so I'm reading up :) LOL, yup that's the pose, it burns like nothing I've felt before and then you fall over! It's like insult to injury gotta love it. So how's Auntie Sandye today? And wow your mom is out rockin the strippers in Vegas? Cool, lol. Hope you enjoyed your Kenpo this morning!

Jellofer - Your welcome :)

Kim - Yup it's here alright, but it is early for us this year. We usually get first snow fall end of October/beginning November. I can't tell you how many halloween costumes got ruined by my mother making me stick my snow suit under it. I love the snow just not the cold so it's a hit a miss some days. When it gets to -45 with the wind and your skin freezes in 3 minutes and your ears turn black, that's nasty but fortunately we only get that a few weeks a year. I bet vermont must be beautiful in the winter, I've only ever seen pictures.

Nella - Hope home date night went great last night. My step father has a lifethreatening fish allergy and we have to be very careful with restaurants too, some ppl just aren't as careful when it's not for them. Enjoy your weekend :)

Butterfly Diva - Ohhh I look forward to the creativity! Great job making it last though, that's fantastic!

Inthemidst - You can do it, you can do it!

NSM - How nice, you guys get to celebrate in a new house. Or are you doing family stuff this weekend? And wow, that's a lot of stairs, feel the burn.

Ruth - Congrats on eating well, I've never had a krispy kreme but I've heard stories about them, lol. My weight is doing the same thing, and it's driving me batty too :dizzy:

Well I woke up a bit sniffly this morning but nothing terrible, it kind of gets better the longer the days goes on so it appears immune system is still fighting the good fight.

Since as many of you know I'm sort of displaced over here in Alberta and we have no family here but the nice thing about dh's work is you kind of have ready made family since everyone's displaced right along with you. So we're been invited to Thanksgiving at a cooworkers place. That should be entertaining and bless dh's heart he even told them I'm a vegitarian ahead of time so I won't have to on Monday. He even offered to bring a dish over so that I'd for sure have something safe to eat. And all this without me even knowing. He just came home all proud of himself, lol. It's great though, I'm bringing a grain salad so at least I won't starve.

Scale it starting to make me batty. Or moreso my body I guess, it's boucing all over the place and for the last two days I've felt super bloated too which is really odd for this time of the month. But then again I did miss TOM last month and who knows how that's going to turn out, my hormones may very well be wacked right out. I've been hanging out within the same two pounds for 10 days, ugh. Oh well off to get something done. TTFN

Hiya ladies. Have been MIA for the past few days, sorry. The ex was down since Wed for meetings in the same town where we live, so he pretty much hung out here spending as much time with DD as possible when he wasn't in his meetings. It went good for the most part, except I am so focused on setting boundaries that I am probably being a total beaaatch. I just don't want him to get the wrong idea by us spending time together, or by having the relationship move to fast. I meant it when I said there was no chance of us getting back together until at least June. I know he understands that, but when he tries to hug me or wants to cuddle, etc I just get all rigid and overanalyze everything.
Anyways, we had a family night on Thurs night and we all went out to eat and to the movies. I limited my calories earlier in the day so I could splurge a little at dinner and have some popcorn at the movies. I did really well for dinner and ordered a salad with the ff dressing on the side, and I only ate less than 1 of those awesome dinner rolls with probably 1tbs of the honey butter. The ex ordered some of those texas eggroll thingies, which I love....and then I splurged and ate 2 of those which I am sure are like 200-300 calories a freakin piece. Should have stopped there but DD didn't finish her mac n cheese so I helped her finish eating that too. Ugh. When we went to the movies we got popcorn with butter, and I only ate a little layer off the top of the bag....it actually didn't even taste that good to me anymore! Way too oily. Still probably overall I probably ate about 1800 calories which wasn't too bad for a splurge day, even if they weren't all the best calories! I was feeling pretty good about my decisions until I stepped on the scale the next morning and it was up 3 pounds. Then I was just pissy I was back over 250 again. It took me so long to lose those last few pounds to finally get under 250 and I went and put them back on. I tried telling myself it was just sodium, water weight, blah blah blah.....but still all day I just wanted to hide under a sweatshirt and feel crummy. Yesterday for breakfast the ex went to my favorite bfast place in town---this awesome bagel shop that makes the most wonderful bagels. We always used to go and get a few bagels each, and each of those 2 bagels would be LOADED with cream cheese. And then I would get a chai shake too. I really wanted to go....but I was good and stayed home and had a healthy bfast and stayed POP the rest of the day. I am glad i did, because the scale was at least back down to 249 today.

Even if my diet hasn't been perfect, I have at least been working my buns out lately---have put in 1 1/2 hrs each day at the gym for the past 3 days and finished week 4 of C25K. Well, hate to post and run, but I have to get to the gym early in the morning today as it is Sat and the childwatch is only open until 11:30 on Saturdays. Will try to get back on later and post personals everyone-hope you all are doing great!

Today's menu
B- honey nut cheerios
S- white cheddar cheez-its
L left over meatloaf muffin and brown rice
S- orange and mixed veggies
D- steak with baked potato with melted shredded cheese and teriyaki veggies
S- homemade fruit and pudding pie (1 slice)

Right now I'm half way through my 8 glasses for today.

Hi, I'm not sure at all how an online community works, which makes the fact that I work for a software company really ironic! So, I'm a woman on a mission since August 30, with nearly 10 pounds down, and 31 more pounds to go. I had great success with WW before I had 2 babies in a row. Now, it's time to get in bikini shape by May. My goals for October:
Weight Loss: 7.4 lbs. (1 pound less than September)
Exercise: 4 times per week
Points: Stay within WW points, now adjusted to not include nursing points
Community/Accountability: Make friends along the way.

Here we go! :)

Good morning girls!!!!

Cle~ hope you got most of what you need for the party and that you got a well deserved great night sleep!! :)

Jellofer~ Still giggle every time I see your avatar!! :) Here's to post TOM swooshes!! They're the best!

shasha~ well hun, I hope you never do get to 140! at 6'1" that's pretty dang boney if you ask me! :) Hope you're having a superfantabulous weekend with your friend!!!

KimL~ I have a Polar F4 and I like it well enough. It's not super uber fancy or anything (there's no GPS locating stuff or anything) but it does what I need it to do. :) One thing I can tell ya, if you're looking for one, make sure you get one with a chest strap! I had a HRM watch without the strap and it was awful! You had to stop exercising to take your HR and it took so long that by the time you got a readout, your HR had dropped a ton! I'd definitely recommend mine, especially if you don't want to spend a ton. They're about $75 now as they're on clearance.

Nella~ hope your date night was fun! :) Could be that you bounced back up from water retention--those muscles can hold onto water when they're repairing themselves. Just keep doing what you're doing--you'll see a drop soon!

ButterflyDiva~ 2 weeks between grocery store runs?!?! I can barely make it 2 days!!! Of course my kids go through milk and cereal lightning fast!!! Oh, and then there's the 6-8 eggs (whites only) that hubby and I go through each day (that's combined, not by ourselves ;)). Hope you're having a great weekend!! :) Meatloaf muffins! I almost tried those when I made my stuffed turkey meatloaf--went with mini meatloaves instead--kind of like hamburger patties...I'm going to have to try the muffins next time. :)

ITM~ Oh girl I hear ya!!! I'm still fighting to get last weekend's weight off!!! It still blows my mind how one weekend of bad eating can translate into such a huge gain!!! But, I'm back on track and don't have any plans of doing that again anytime soon!!! Stay on track hun and if you need a :kickbutt: you give me a shout k? ;)

NSM~ Hey hun! Great to see you! 3 levels huh? Jeepers! I think my knees would hate me! But yay for built in exercise!! :carrot: Sounds like things are coming along! I hope the rest of the unpacking goes well! I'd like to think that one of these days I'll be totally unpacked too!

MsP~ yeah, isn't that sauce just heavenly to smell? See, I hadn't ever made a lasagna before so the prep time took me by surprise. I mean, it didn't sound like it would take that long to prep but boy was I wrong! Hope you enjoy it! :) Oooh, Ben & Jerry's...we used to hang out quite often back in the day! They were my 'Other Men' ;) Great job going for the WW bars instead! Hope they were yummy!!! :)

Ruth~ well ya learn something new every day! :) I hear ya on having the willpower! It's a tough battle for sure! I really should look into making my own yogurt! We eat a ton in this house! It'd be nice to know exactly what is in it and of course if we could save some $$ in the process, that's would be nice as well! :) We don't have a whole foods anywhere near us, and when I did have one near me (back in CA) I was not interested in a healthier lifestyle...sigh...dang timing!!!

Tummy~ I'm coming for a visit!! Big fluffy snowflakes already? Ahhh, that sounds beautiful!! Of course, I can imagine how quickly that beauty can fade after a solid month of it huh? We haven't had super snowy Winters since we've been here so I'm still all delighted and amazed at the snow when it comes. It never fails though, if someone finds out I'm from CA, they instantly say, "Oh you must HATE the Winters here!!!" and I always shoot back, "Nope! I love 'em!!" then they look at me like I've got 3 heads! Even funnier to me is that when people here hear 'California' they instantly think sunshine and beaches--there are mountains in CA too and it snows quite a lot there as well. ;) Anyway...I hear ya on feeling bloated! At first I thought is was from all the weekend madness, but it kept going on and on! I'm finally feeling less like the Michelin Man today! Hope you have fun at your friend's house today!! Happy Thanksgiving to you!! :)

Jessica~ whew! Congrats on getting that scale back down! And bravo to you for all the hard work you're doing in the gym!!! We have one of those bagel places here too--I swear it's horribly addicting! They have these Asiago cheese bagels--Mmmm and with sun dried tomato cream cheese...OMG! But the best one--and I apologize in advance if I make you hungry--is this apple pie type thing...it's this crazy yummy cinnamony bagel heaped with sliced baked apples and this insanely good topping...ACK!!! It's the devil in bagel form I tell you!!! And here's something crazy--when i ran my 5K, they sponsored it! There were tons of bagels for the racers to eat afterwards! *gulp* It took every ounce of strength not to dive head first into the bagel boxes!! I grabbed on of those cheese ones and gave it to hubby--but I stayed strong! (until that night of course ;)) Anyway, enough of that! Hope you're having a great weekend hun! :)

SkinnyLynnie~ :welcome: You've found the right place if you want to make friends and be held accountable! We're nice as can be but still dish out the :buttkick::club::rollpin: if need be! ;) Jump right in and congrats on the great job so far!! :)

Ahhh, well let's see...

We started on the basement yesterday! :carrot: We only got a table moved upstairs, but it's a start! Plus, hubby started making shelves to organize everything--and that's what really makes me happy! :yay: He's going to go get the plywood this morning and assemble them today and by the end of the day we'll have stuff more organized than it is right now! (notice I didn't say 'organized' or 'clean' or 'tidy'? I don't want to set my expectations too high ya know ;))

We're planning on hitting the apple orchard today too--I'm completely out of apples! I can't have that!

I was supposed to do a photo shoot for a girl I met a couple of weeks ago--she has an adorable 18 mo old dd and wants her pics taken. However, I had to lend my camera batteries to my friend last night (as I was supposed to help her shoot pics for her HS reunion--but her batteries were dead so I just left mine with her and went home) so I don't have a way to take pics. Plus, the girl didn't contact me to let me know if we were definitely doing it today or not so I kind of figured it wasn't a done deal. This is my first time ever taking pics of someone else's kid and I'm so rusty I don't even know how they'd turn out...anyway, all that to say, I don't think I'll be shooting pics today.

Did my stretching today, ahhh, so nice!!! I'm glad I have a day off though--my cold is still here and settled right in the middle of my throat. I feel okay, but if I start coughing...ouch! It hurts!!!! So lots and lots of water, maybe some green tea and cough drops will be on the menu today! ;)

Well ladies, I'll shut up now. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Happy Thanksgiving to all our girls up North!!! :thanks1: Have a great and don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!
