iDream~ Good to hear no babies are coming and you’re feeling better!

Nella~ Sorry to hear about your DH’s ex… Let me know how Wii fit works out, I really want to get it, but am not sure if it is worth the money… :kickbutt:

Ms Perception~ 130s!!! YAY!!! That’s awesome that DH is also seeing some success!

LaurenA~ Awesome job turning down the evil food! You’ll lose that extra pound in no time!

FitGirlyGirl~ TOM for that long!? YIKES! Great job not eating the candy! That is one bonus to living in the middle of no where, we get no trick or treaters and therefore don’t buy any extra candy.

Those hashbrowns must have really filled me up this morning because I couldn’t even finish half of my salad. While it is a good sized salad, I could normally house the whole thing no problem. So I’m wondering if I should add something else to my morning breakfast routine to help fill me up (other then hashbrowns). Right now I normally will eat 1 apple and a single serving of Fiber One Honey Oat Cereal with skim milk. Usually by 11:30 I’m starving, but today I only ate part of my salad because it was lunch time and I knew I wouldn’t have another chance to eat until 3 (and by then I probably would be pretty hungry). I am currently finishing the 1/3 of pomegranate I brought in as it is AMAZING! If I can keep my energy up I am totally going to go to the gym after school today and kick some serious butt!

Thanks girls! I needed a swift kick in the pants. I'm determined to work out for at least one hour today. Nothing will get in my way!! Sandye will be proud of me though, I've been a water drinking fiend the last few days.

As for the Wii Fit. I really like it. We've had it for about a year, and even the kids like to play the challenges. I'll let you know how the expansion game is.

**Edit to add: Holy cow - October is almost over!!!! I have 3 days to see 170 on my scale! I better be sweating my sorry behind off - no excuses!!!**

Finally some time for personals. Yay!

shrinking girl- I know its been a few days since you mentioned this, but just wanted to give you a HUGE congrats on making it into onderland. I only hope I can get there one of these days. And 9 lbs is great! You might even be lower by months end.

jen7- Yay for the 7lbs this month, that is a very respectable and healthy loss.

shrinking amy- Yay for almost being in the 120's. Sooo close :) And even if your body goes up and down a few, I'm sure it will all balance out.

sweettooth- Awesome! You just blew your goal right out of the water.
I'm sure you will make it to the 160's this month, you are sooo close.

givtlc- Yay for being down another 2.8lbs.

miss malle- That sounds interesting. What kind of plan is it? Did you get it from the dr?

Sandye- Aww if you are MIA, we are certainly going to miss you. But I guess you do have ppl IRL that need you as well...sigh. (lol)

jasonlea- I'm a lil behind, but congrats on your big loss last week. And good luck on the test.

nella- Sorry about your scale. That happened to me last week too. I was eating good (not perfect, but within a good calorie range) and everyday the scale kept creeping up. Unfortunatly, I was so mad I pigged out all weekend, but now the scale is almost back down to where it was supposed to be last week. Just ride it out, make the right decisions and it will go down again.

MsP- Whoo hoo on being under 140. 138.8 is still below 140 and it will just continue that downward trend with all your hardwork.

As for me, I am finally stepping up to the C25K challenge. I started last Wed, but I didn't have my W1D2 workout until this Monday, so I'm going to extend the first week until Friday. I did it today during lunch and it wasn't as bad as Monday. I'm doing it on the treadmill and during the runs, I am doing 6mph and then for the 90 sec walks, going down to 3.8-4mph. So I'm getting in about 1.75 miles during the 25 min workout. I'm hoping that when and if I get through all the weeks, I can finish the 5k in 30 minutes. Also today I'm going to workout with my trainer after work and hes going to check my progress. I guess that means checking my body fat and measuring me. I will let you guys know how that went, but wish me luck. I am a little nervous.

So, I got enough kicks today to get me going again. Man it felt god to be outside in the warm again! It's been cold the last few weeks, but it's in the 80's again now.

I went for my walk and decided to see how well I could do jogging. I went longer than I ever have! I have a hard time keeping up a steady jog because of my asthma, but it felt so good to be doing it!

Played with the Wii Fit Plus tonight too. I liked it, and it has a weigh your pet or baby thing that my SD 's thought was hilarious, you even make a little kitty or puppy Mii for them . So our cats weigh 10, 10 and 6 pounds. Lol.

Looking forward to more jogging tomorrow!

Hey Everyone! There were so many posts since I last checked I"m not even going to attempt personals! But congrats to all of you have had scale victories and NSV's... for those of you struggling (as I have this week!) keep your head up and keep moving!

I was in a funk this week and ended up taking two days off working out but somehow still managed to surpass my weekly exercise minutes goal, so that was cool. I'm still kinda in the funk but I am slowly coming out! I ran W4D2 of C25K today and I won't lie, it was tough! but I made it through.... barely!

I have been good I think with my food. Just had 1 slip with 2 cookies and some wine yesterday with friends at a late dinner.
Maybe that is why the scale hasn't budged. I will finally get my a-ss out of bed early tomorrow and go grocery shopping. ANyways catch ya all soon. Bye

Good Morning girls!
Hope your all having a good morning! I must say all in all October has been pretty good to me! I have sorta caught up in my reading, at the same time chasing after a 8 month old who is pulling herself up on everything including me lol.
Shrinking Girl- WOW on onederland! Amazing!
Fit girly girl- 50lbs gone such a success!
Sweettooth- the 60's is an amazing feeling, for once in my life I feel full of life!
TummyGirl- Congrats on the normal BMI!!!
Nella- I love the no excuses attitdue, I think attitude is 100% of weight loss!
Idream- I was wondering what sort of yoga videos are you doing? I am curious to start yoga!
October has been a crazy month for me! I must say I stayed focused on making healthy choices and making time for exercise to give me a total of 9lbs loss, the scale said 161.6 this am!! *So Excited* I can see 50's in the near future!! I can't believe it yet! My grandma is recovering well, but does have some speach impairement and has some paraylisis on her right side. But I am praying for a good recovery. I have really had an amazing year on maternity leave, I have been focused on being healthy in an exercise and food way, but I am really leaning towards being healthy in mind and spirit as well. I have been doing some reading, and have been trying to change to a more positive thinking and self esteem. I am also proud to say my family is beginning a transformation as well! My boyfriend started this week on a lifestyle change, and he has had successful weight loss thus far. I am so excited!! Anyways I must quit my ramblings, I am looking forward to hearing new recipies, continued success, and any other tips you ladies can provide! Have a happy Thursday!

Shasha - WAHOO!!! on meeting your goal!!

Amy - Sometimes our bodies need a rest. Taking a few days off might jumpstart things. I know it sounds backasswards, but we do need recovery sometimes.

Jen - WAHOO!! 9 pounds is a lot! Good for you!! And I'm glad to hear your grandmother is in recovery.

Sweettooth - 7 pounds is already a huge accomplishment! I would wait until Saturday and then weigh in, I bet you'll go down a bit more!

FSA - We miss you!!!

Nella~ I’m feelin the 3 day crunch right now too!

shasha17a~ How did your workout go yesterday? Congrats on starting C25K! I did that program last year and saw a lot of success! Congrats again for reaching your goal!

FullSteamAhead~ I’m wearing my size 20 jeans today!!!

ShrinkingAmy~ Great job getting through your funk and getting back with C25K!

jen7~ Congrats on your loss and getting your boyfriend involved in life changes as well!

So I passed out for way too long last night and didn’t get into the gym. I’m pretty annoyed with myself and plan on really kicking my own butt at the gym after school today. I am psyched to report that I have reached one of my two goals, and am currently wearing my size 20s right now at work! Almost Friday…

Kim - WAHOO!!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Great job on the jeans!!! I know how awesome that felt the first time I put on an old pair that hasn't fit in a while. Keep up the great work!! Yep, we've got 3 more days to push our noses to the grindstone!

I actually have a semi-kid free afternoon. Both have Halloween parties to attend after school, so I can go home, change and head right back out the door without having to worry about anything. :D

KimL-Congrats on the jeans! I had a jeans vistory today also. Doesn't it feel good to get into that next size! You are doing great even though I know there are ups and downs. Just keep moving forward and you will accomplish all you want to! I just know it.

FSA-Where have you been woman?! I've missed you. Hope life hasn't been too crazy/bad since you've been on. Please keep me posted! BTW, I've reached all my weight loss goals! Please make me RED. :D

Jen-Great job on the loss and keeping up with your little one! I know that's a workout program in itself at this stage. LOL

I am SO SUPER DUPER happy to ammouce that not only did I hit 139.0 this morning to reach my October goal...also making my total loss=60 pounds, but I'm sitting here in SIZE 8 jeans I bought at the store last night. I went to try on 8's to see if I could squeeze in and they actually FIT. Not barely fit, I mean really fit nicely. So, I bought a pair and am wearing them today. I've also gone on ebay and bought a couple more pair. I live where there aren't many discount/goodwill type options, not to mention malls, so ebay will have to do 'til I go visit my mom (about 45 min away) to shop. I actually visit my mom about once a week, but usually don't make time for shopping. Sometime next month, I'll have to do that. There are like 3 thrift stores in her town and a small mall. I can go get some clothes for the holidays. We don't really dress up a lot for holiday gatherings, but some nice casual clothes that fit well would be great!

Ms. P - YAY!!!!!! Congrats on the huge victory!!!!!!!

ShrinkingAmy
10-29-2009, 11:14 AM
Kim & MsP - awesome work getting in to smaller jeans! That's AWESOME! And MsP - Congrats on the scale victory as well! Way to go hitting your goal!

There's no possible way I'll hit my goal of 125lbs (not safely, anyway) but I'm proud of my efforts and am happy with the changes seen in my body. I'm scared that I'll blow it all on my vacation that starts next Wednesday and that I'll never get back on track once I return since vacation was my main motivator. I think I'm going to announce a 5K race next spring that I will participate in so that everyone I know will help keep me accountable. Just need to figure out which one(s) I want to do!

Tummy Girl

Morning!

Amy - Oh I hope the scale starts working in your favour soon, these lower numbers are cruel!

Shasha - Hope you're all back on track and such at least her birthday is only once a year ;) and you've lost 15lbs and still doing good! Congrats on the running! You're running that's incredible, great for you and figners crossed on the progress, can't wait to hear.

MsP - LOL I was thinking the exact thing the other day, does my scale even have a 140 on it? OMG I see a 139 on your ticker, congrats and I will read further!!!!! It's like the holy grail, it does exsist! LOL, thanks so much :) Oh that's a fantastic alternative, I just did that yesterday in fact, afternoon runs with light are rather nice. LMAO, gosh I hear ya on those 0.2's they're good but really now, let's see some big ones shall we. Holy cow on the weight loss for dh too, that's fantastic, omg! Good for him and great for you holding up that inspirational light too.

Jessicado - Glad everything worked out fairly well with your man adventures and congrats on the clothes! Good luck keeping up with all those orders but what a nice problem to have, lol.

Sandye - Thanks so much my dear, it was a rather exciting day and has really pepped me up a bit, this all seems like bonus pounds now. I'm finding the extra sleep helpful as well I think you're on to something there, just sneaking in a few extra hours here and there helps to not make me as irritated with the exercise anyway. Well you should probably be done painting by now so I will read on, lol. OMG does someone have her mojo back? Better keep reading. Oh it appears you do have your mojo and lol on hubby. That's where mine's going too once we get finished with the babies. Glad it was negative, maybe they should put a warning label on the p90 box, may cause loss of period unrelated to pregnancy. Mine's still gone but it has until the very end of the month until I count it as missed again.

Kim - That's an awesome loss .6 is hard work goodness knows. I hope you're at least feeling better and back to your regular self for that last push to goal :) Goodness, I hope you grab that prescription soon, had that when I wa pregnant and I thought I was going to die.

Sweettooth - OMgoodness, you're super close to those 160's just around the corner, can't wait!

JasonsLea - Glad you caught it hun, we are all guilty of that from time to time but when we recognize it we get that chance to figure out what the heck we're doing so BRAVO!

Miss Mallee - Congrats on that potential interview, good work and some great payoff for sore feet ;) Woohoo on 213, you're getting ever so close to that 199 too and with so much going on, WTG!

FitGirlyGirl - :congrat: on your goal, that's fantastic. That is going to be so cool going to see the family and you're all skinny and such. I just love that feeling! I agree with MsP, slight increases feel like moving forward without getting overwhelmed. You could also try increasing intensity of exsisting workouts to make them harder.

Cle - Hiya Chickie

SG - you're a doll my dear, it seems like yesterday (or more like June 26, lol) when I reached 199 and it sure doesn't take that long in the grand scheme of things, just in out minds. Vegitarian is good, lol, the brainwashing has begun. I found the same thing too, it started as an experiement and now I can't imagine eating it anymore.

Nella - I can't imagine you gained weight eating 1500 unless you were licking salt blocks or something. I hope you got your walk in, that will definitely help get the head space right for sure. There's nothing like a good walk to figure stuff out. Let us know how the interview went, that would be awesome, it's soo nice when we get to do what we love or at least what we don't hate. And finally, move your butt! Get out there and take care of you, you'll be a better wife, mom and all that good stuff, life will always suck from time to time but no reason to treat yourself badly as a result. Oh look at you running too! wtg, nothing burns those calories like running ;)

LaurenA - LOL, that's so very true, saying NO isn't a bad thing, it's liberating! Bad choices are opportunities to learn and grow and make better ones next time :)

Going to post so I don't lose this...

Good morning ladies. So yesterday was my progress check up appointment with my trainer. I knew I was down on my scale, but I hoped that it would reflect in the measurements as well. I weighed in at 245.5 on the gym scale, so thats about 5lbs more than mine at home (but I figure with shoes, clothes and time of day, thats about right). So I lost 9.5lbs of fat and gained almost 3lbs in muscle. So he said that in total, I really lost 12lbs. I'm happy with that because I know sometimes even if we lose weight, it doesn't necessarily mean that its fat we're losing. So I hope that I can do really well until Thanksgiving when I see my parents because last time my mom saw me, I was 250-something.

Tummy Girl

Jen7 - What a wonderfully uplifting post first thing in the morning, thank you for that! I have to agree so much with what you said, it's so much more than weight and it takes a lot more than eating right to get it off too.

FSA - Howdy there! So glad you're back and hope you're doing better with "things"

Kim - Whooot! on them little pants girl. That always feels like a million bucks, enjoy showing off that little behind all day:)

Nella - Oh enjoy you free time you lucky devil you, that's always soo nice every now and again.

MsP- Fanfrickintastic, :celebrate::balloons:we're like goal twins this month, lol. I quite literally know exactly how you feel and I hope you get a chance to broaden the waredrobe soon, it's hard not having clothes that fit these hard earned bodies.

Gosh, I feel like I've been gone forever, but only one day longer than I planned, I read up yesterday but didn't have time with playgroup and busy day.

So the overnight waterpark stay was marvelous, it's also nice to wear a swimsuit and not be the least bit worried about whether ppl are staring at you because although I don't have my head on right yet I know I look normal to other people, just not to me yet. I got some nice laps in while dh and dd were watersliding and it was very quite at the pool which was also nice. Dinner was great and OP so even better, did drink some diet pepsi though and felt like a whale, it's been 3 months since I had ate anything carbonated, omg.

We went shopping on Tuesday and had a few wonderful weight loss moments, MsP was right size 8 fits!!!:carrot: We went to the super mall in Edmonton and I tried on and bought some size 8's at the Gap and we went to the Hollister store for dh and just for kicks I tired on a 9 there (b/c if anyone has shopped there they know that it's the freaky land of the skinny ppl) and they fit too! I was shocked, I was thinking it was going to be muffin top and camel toe all over the place but they just fit just like they were supposed to and it was frickin' marvelous. Standing there looking in the mirror at Hollister, I just couldn't believe it, the sales lady came back to check if I was ok b/c I was taking so long with only a few items but I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I know I'm smaller and I could see that but I just stood there absorbing it for awhile. I never thought at 154lbs I'd be an 8, never, I was guessing 10lbs from here but then again, I've never been here before.

So that was just an amazing day all around, it was a tad overwhelming since I could shop at almost every store in the entire mall, I don't know how you girls do it, so many choices! And I've always been such a fashion person that I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I can actually buy clothes I get to keep! The other big moment was this morning, 153, that's 70lbs done, wow, just wow. So one more pound to hit goal this month which I really thought was totally out of the question at the beginning of last week but it's close and only 3 days left so I better get up and busy and burn some calories!

Have a brilliant day ladies and I plan to do the same.

Nella

Tummy - That is so awesome! All of it!! The clothes, the goals, the 70 pounds gone, all of it!!!! Keep rockin' it girl!!

p.s. - The scale was back down a bit today to 172.6. I think I'm just holding a lot of water. And I'm pumped about my walk/jog tonight!!!!

Kim - I don’t have the Wii Fit Plus, I have the original, but I like it. It’s fun and I get a pretty decent calorie burn from it. The hula hoop game is also a great ab exercise. I have PCOS, so I am used to sometimes having very long TOM, but it is still quite annoying. You should try adding some protein to your breakfast. Almost every morning for me is ¾ cup special k protein plus, 8 oz. skim milk, 8 oz. V8, 6 oz. low carb yogurt, and ¼ cup egg beaters - total is still only 340 calories, but it has 36g protein. I eat breakfast at 7:30-8:00 in the morning. I try to eat lunch at 12 or 1. I usually never need a snack in between and am sometimes so full that I have to break my lunch into 2 snacks instead of 1 meal. Congrats on the jeans!

Shasha - Congrats on starting C25K. I am in week 4 (going into my second week of week 4, grrr). I am loving it so far, I hope you do too. If in week 3 or so you have to cut your speed down a bit, don’t feel bad, happened to me. I figure once I can run for the amount of time then I will work on speed, though I do a bit of speed work with some sprints some days - up to 7mph for 30 seconds at a time. Congrats on meeting your goal and having an awesome weigh in.

FSA - Thanks for posting the list, it’s great to see my goal all red, woohoo!

Nella - Glad you like the Wii Fit. I have the original, not plus and I love it. I’m thinking of moving up to the plus one, but there are a few other games I want to spend the $$ on first - like the Biggest Loser game.

Jen - I’m glad your grandmother is recovering well. It’s also good that you are starting to get inward change as well as the physical, congrats! Congrats on being a positive influence on your boyfriend as well.

Ms P - Congrats on needing to be made red! Another big congrats for the jeans, that’s awesome! You are in single digits, that must feel amazing. I hope you have given yourself some serious congrats.

Amy - You just need a new motivator. The 5K can work as a good one. You could also just go ahead and start planning for your next vacation. Think of how much easier it will be to be ready for it with all the extra time.

Tummy - I’m glad the water park trip was a success and look there, another one in single digits. Congrats and I do hope you rewarded yourself.

I seem to be semi stuck on the 193. Today is my 3rd day of it. I know that’s not long, but for me it is, even if it blips up a little and then goes back down my weight rarely stays exactly the same for 2 days, let alone 3. I usually see a loss of .1 or .2 each day. Oh well, I am being a good girl and the scale will eventually be my friend again. I know I shouldn’t weight myself every day, but I know me and if I don’t make it part of my morning routine then I will end up forgetting about it until it has been months and I will possibly miss some problems, so every day it is for me. I am going to have to buy another tape measure since either the cats or my mother-in-law have stolen mine. I am so happy happy happy today. Last night I was talking to hubby and he was telling me how he has noticed that things have gotten easier since he started going to the gym with me and exercising a bit. He has noticed that things like walking up the stairs, moving desks at work, and even sex are less physically tiring. He also noticed that nights when he doesn’t get 8 hours of sleep don’t seem to effect him as much. I am so happy to hear him noticing that the exercise has benefits. I am hoping that means he will keep it up and maybe even increase it a little. Who knows maybe it will lead to him eating better too. His dinner meal is always his healthiest because I cook it, but he adds too much salt and frequently multiple spoons of butter, and follows it with things like ¼ - ½ a tube of raw cookie dough plus some oreos (last night‘s snack) and sometimes eats what I would consider 4 or 5 servings of cheese at once, he puts probably 1 1/3 cups of sugar in his 64 oz. coffee thermos, and on the rare occasion when he does cook for himself it makes me cringe. He rarely eats any breakfast and his lunch is not the greatest. I am so happy to see hope for his lifestyle becoming healthier because I am so scared that he won’t be around to grow old with me. I am starting to see some hope that the boy might not have a heart attack by 45. Woohoo, hubby is motivated! He even told me a few minutes ago that it is ok if I go to the gym early in order to go to my meeting tonight, that he will still go by himself while I'm off at the meeting.

Tummy-We ARE almost like goal twins....SO SO exciting to read your amazing news!! Your trip sounds like it was great! I love those kinds of trips with the family. It's been too long since we've done one, but time has gotten away from us. Obviously with the holidays coming up soon, we'll have plenty of other travel to deal with, so I guess we'll have to wait until next year.

Sweettooth-Yay on the scale progress! Just keep at it and it will come off.

FitGirlyGirl-WOW on dh's food habits! SO glad to hear he's slowly getting on board. It's baby steps sometimes. Maybe he could start measuring the sugar or butter..not tell him how much to use, just make him aware of how much he's using. It might convince him to cut back a bit. I can't have oreos in my house or I would down them. Bravo to you for resisting, but maybe you could get rid of them so he can't snack on them. There are many healthier options. My DH does well with portioned desserts like ice cream treats or snack cakes that are portioned out. Just a thought. Keep up the good efforts!

I gotta go for now to get the kiddos. Hope ya'll have great afternoons!

Hello ladies glad you all are doing well. I have not been posting lately I guess I am just really down on myself this last week or so. It seems since Thanksgiving I got sick and just can't seem to get my eating under control. I mean I do well for a couple of days and then I bake bread, cake or cookies. Sometimes I just think I am never going to get this down should I just quit am I truely destined to just be fat for the rest of my life... I want to change so badly and then it seems like I just have no will power to do this. Am I just a lost cause??? Help please I need a serious kick in the bootie...

Congrats to all of you that have met your goals I am so proud of all of you. Have a great day

Sorry ladies--thought I would be able to get online and actually post, but daughter came down with something and now all the free time I thought I would have has been spent cleaning up bodily fluids and nursing. Am really hoping she gets better soon and I don't get it....
On the plus side scale has been moving down, but I doubt I'll be able to make it to the gym any time soon so I probably won't make my goal of 234. So close though! Oh well. Taking care of DD is more important than a few pounds!

Hellooooo Chickies!

The sun isn't shining but it's a great day anyway! Much to my surprise I find myself down another lb! I stared at it this morning and went "how in the..." but then I realized I just had a pretty official TOM (rather than the here 2 days gone 2 days crap I've been having the past couple months) so I'm attributing the whoosh to that.

LaurenA Way to go on resisting those muffins! Sometimes I think the feeling you get when you resist pressure and temptation like that is actually BETTER than whatever it was would have tasted anyway! WhoopWhoop!

FitGirlyGirl When doing the C25K I also had the occasional day where I just could NOT do it. I remember 2 completely awful days in particular... and you know something? The world didn't end! I did as much as I could and tried to shake it off and sure enough the next time I went out, things were better. Even now with my running I have days where it just kicks my butt! Good or bad, at least you're doing something and remember... everyone has off days. Also, I have no idea how anyone can run 15mph, 6.5 mph and my body nearly breaks. Just read a more recent post of yours and man do I know the feeling of the weight hovering for longer than you want it to... it's amazing how much the scale can affect our moods! However, when that happens I can usually look forward to a big drop in one day... hopefully the same is true for you!

KimL For me, I rarely make it from breakfast to lunch without getting hungry... so I usually have a 150-200 calorie snack around 10am. I reduce the calorie content of my lunch to compensate.. so if you're having fullness issues perhaps you could try that?

shasha Thanks!! :D Reaching onederland was pretty emotional for me and it continues to be... it's like I keep stepping on the scale expecting for it to register over 200 again. Too good to be true and all that, ya know? I can't wait for you to really get into the C25K!! It sure did make me feel more confident as a person and really accelerated my weight loss! You're going to be great!

FSA Sooo good to see you!

Nella Congrats on the long jog! That's got to feel fantastic!

ShrinkingAmy WooHoo on the C25K!! I'm sorry you're having scale issues but just remember you can see the improvements in your body!

sweettooth Good luck on reaching your goal! One day left!

jen7 Whee, 150's in sight! Look out here you come! Also, I have to say I think it's great that you're looking to change more than just your body!

MsP The 130's AND size 8 jeans! You must have been floating on cloud 9!! (oh wait... maybe it should be cloud 8!! :p ) Congratulations, you totally deserve it! I can't wait for you to go shopping and grab up all those skinny clothes!

Tummy My main problem with changing my eating habits is just that I've not been exposed to soooo much and often when I am it's in a situation like the class where it was catered and I don't know how to make it afterwards, there's no one to ask for a recipe and I don't even know what was in it. It's a struggle but I guess I'll get there slowly, eh? Holy cow on the size 9 fitting! Skinny girl! 70 lbs of crap gone from your body... amazing. You kick such weight loss butt!!

jessicado Sorry to hear the little one is sick! :( Poor thing. You are so close to goal and you've done just amazing this month so I'd call it a win anyway!

Whew! Being gone one single day is time consuming when you get back! Yesterday I decided to shake up my morning smoothie by making it a pumpkin pie smoothie. Now, usually my smoothies contain almond milk, vanilla protein powder, spinach, half a banana, blueberries and green superfood. Yesterday I nixed the banana and added in pumpkin and a shot of splenda and pumpkin pie spice.... and it might have been ok... had I not just dumped in the rest of the remaining pumpkin instead of putting in a wee bit like a sane person. It ended up tasting like a squash and vanilla shake.... totally couldn't finish it... but it was cracking me up... the thing was so heavy and thick I think I could have bricked a house with it! Hilarious. Don't think I'll be trying it again!

I'm totally excited that it's Friday and that I have no plans for this weekend. I have so much to catch up on and the house is a disaster and I still need to send out notes to all of my parents about parent/teacher conferences which are next Thursday and I'm required to get 30 and it's such a challenge every year even though I have over 100 students. Gah!

Hope everyone has a great day and an even better weekend!

Good morning girls! Just a quick flyby post for me today--I'm in full fledged "House Guest Prep" mode as my Mom & Sissy will be here Monday!

I've also officially been bitten by the holiday craft bug--she's particularly over ambitious this year and I'm hoping to knock her down a few notches to prevent my holiday season from becoming a big ball of stress.

So, I'll be back later for personals and such! So many people to congratulate on losses and new smaller sizes!!! :woohoo: I've taken this recovery week quite serious and skipped my stretching workout yesterday and did not do Yoga in it's place. I do plan on doing my workout today--but I've decided not to stress if I miss one workout this week. :) Dropped a bit more so I'm happy about that and just plugging along.

Okay, must start on my To Do List for the day! Have a great day ladies and be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!

mystical-I can't tell you how many times I've had the "Am I destined to be fat?" conversation with myself prior to this most recent weight loss journey. The fact is no one is destined to be fat or unhealthy. It's just so darn hard to make the changes in habits. You CAN do it!! Don't get down on yourself, just start fresh. Each day is new and you don't have to make the same mistakes you did yesterday. You know the right things to do which is what you can focus on for now. Keep reading or learning about why it's so important to make these changes or whatever helps to keep your motivation high. This is your LIFE and you deserve a great one! Don't sell yourself short.

jessica-Sorry to hear about sick DD. Hope she feels better soon. Great job losing even when you can't get to the gym!

FSA-So glad you're planning to be back around. I'm sure you must've had quite the ordeal going on to be gone like that. Here's hoping for better days ahead!

Cle-Woo Hoo on reaching October goal! You rocked this month! 12 pounds!! Holy cow, woman!! Keep up the amazing work.

SG-ROFL with your bricking a house with your pumpkin smoothie! I've actually thought of trying a pumpkin smoothie myself, thanks for the warning of its cement-like effects. I'll be sure to only use a little. Best wishes getting parents to show up for PT conferences. That can be a toughie. Enjoy your weekend, though. So nice to have no plans, isn't it? Oh and congrats on the bonus pound this morning! Who cares how. It's there, so enjoy it! LOL

Sandye-Good luck with the guest prep. Hmmm...there's a holiday craft bug? She must not know I exist because she's NEVER bitten me!! LOL Have fun with that though and don't overwhelm yourself. Glad you're keeping your exercise schedule in perspective. Sounds like you're in a good place with everything. I'm sure it helps to be SUPER excited to have mom and sis coming soon. I know I'd be elated!

Well, we've got more rain today, but I'm good with it since we're supposed to have 5 days of clear skies after this. The weird weather has slowed down progress on the house, but not effecting the overall timeline yet, thankfully. I'm excited for my planned rest day. I actually need to do the laundry and meal planning that I should've done a few days ago since I've been baking and cleaning other things, not to mention errands, making sure everyone has all they need for costumes/parties, and what not. Anyway, I have a free morning today so I shall use it wisely. This afternoon I have to run up to school because the kindergartners have the "Ugly Bug Ball" where they all dress up as bugs and parade through the halls to show their bug costumes, then they have a little dance/party in the cafeteria. I gotta go take pics and watch my DD be super cute! :D
On the weight loss front, I'm down to 138.2 today! Yay! More progress. It's making it tough to know what to do for my November goal. Do I get to goal and maintain it through the month or do I lower my goal, and if so, to what? Help! Anyone have advice?

Good Morning Ladies!

Sorry I haven't been posting this week...the beginning of the week was crazy busy with work and the kids and as much as I tried to avoid it...I'm sick :( All I've wanted to do is sleep. I've stayed OP, but the last 2 nights I have not been able to go out for my walk due to running a fever and headache...bleh

Am not sure how the end of the month goal met works but my goals were: 1. I'd like to lose 5 lbs. 2. Try a new healthy recipe each week. 3. Continue my walks each day and add more weights.

Met my goal of losing 5 lbs (actually lost over 8 pds for the month :carrot:) and I still have my WW meeting weigh in tomorrow as well :p I only got to try 3 new recipes this month. I've been walking 2 miles a day except for this week and I didn't add more weights to my other exercises but I'll work on that :o

I wanted to thank you ALL for keeping me motivated and for holding me accountable...you all ROCK!!! Grats to all of you who have met your goals and making those changes in your life regardless of how big or small...What a bunch of amazing women in this group!'s all around

Have a great weekend and if I don't get back to post till next week..Have a :haphal:!!!

Morning Ladies,

Nella - aww thanks hun, it was a great day but they all are I guess, just sometimes we take the time to appreciate them and sometimes we don't :) I'm hoping the walk went well last night.

Fitgirlygirl - That's some brilliant good news, it's hard to watch those we love eat so poorly. It makes me wonder how many ppl watched me all those years feeling helpless too. I'm glad he's getting there sometimes it's just setting the example :) good for you.

Sweettooth - Congrats! So close, keep it up and great job. The goal will be yours!

MsP - That's exactly what we found too, time gets away and with dh working so much we just don't take the time as a family to enjoy one another, it's always running around and all that stuff. At least the holidays will be the ultimate family time anyway, lol, hopefully somewhat relaxing and enjoyable anyway. YAY on the 138, my goodness how fantastic! My thoughts would be aim for the goal and see how you look and how you feel. Do you think another 5lbs is in order or is there just toning left and then using measurements as goals. I'm toying with this too so I'm looking forward to other ppl's thoughts as well. It's so hard to plan when you don't know what the body is going to look like, originally I chose 150 b/c it was "healthy" and a round number then I thought I should aim higher for myself and said 140 and now I think there's more than 12 lbs of fat there but then again, how hard do you want to work to maintain it too, where is a reasonable calorie goal? Ugh! I don't know, lol.

Mystical - Let me know if you need anything else.

Jessicado - Ahh sick kids are heart breaking, hope it's not too bad and that few pounds will be gone soon enough and with a healthy dd to boot.

Cle - OMG that's fantastic!!:bravo: You're doing so well for yourself congrats.

SG - LOL or spackle I need some spackle over here! That's awesome, some of the best recipe disasters make the best stories. My mom still tells us of the time she made perogies and they were so hard we called them rockets and tried to fly them around the kitchen than eat them, there's pictures, it was a precious family moment, lol. I hear you on the new things, I think I ate the same rotation of things for years. I've head to buy a lot of cookbooks over the last few months to help me out b/c I was totally lost. We just tried kale this week and it's pretty great, never even knew what it looked like before. Congrats on that pound too, look at you all 30lbs lighter!

Sandye - Ohh mom is coming! How exciting! And yes, squish that crafting monster, squish, squish, squish. I'm glad to hear you're taking it easy this week, I have no doubt it will do wonders for you :)

GiveTLC - Congrats on way surpassing your weight goal, that must feel fantastic and much deserved. I whole heartedly agree, this group just really is inspiring and I often just enjoy sitting back and taking in how much everyone is doing and am in awe. There's lives and drama and crisis and kids and spouses and all that stuff and there's this remarkable group of ppl who have decided that the best for them is the best for everyone and I just love being apart of it too.

As for little old me, I got my run in this morning with some protest from my legs but we prevailed and will be moving my normal leg strength routine until tomorrow just to be safe, don't want to over do it too much. One of the benefits of doing uber long runs is that when you do short ones it feels like the easiest thing ever, I ran 40 minutes on wed and thurs and it was fantastic, nice for a change too.

And FSA - please light me up, I hit 152 this morning!:broc: I was hoping that extra calorie deficit would help and vola!

I think what all this has helped me realize is how incredibly skinny those ppl we see on tv are. I mean I'm in an 8 now, which means the lower I go I move towards a 6, which is bonkers and small but I still have a butt and thighs and giggly bits, which are just going to be there, no wonder we get screwed right up when we're young and impressionable and teenagers, some of those ppl are below a size 0, my goodness. Scares me for my daughter but at least we can all try to live healthy by example and hope to teach them well.

Just a quick note to say I reached my goal and am back down passed where I was when I slipped! I weighed in this morning at 282.4. Its so nice to be so close to the weight I put on my license (I obviously lied). This is going to be the end of the week for me because I am going home for the weekend. But I will be back in November and hopefully more active on the board again.

SG, thanks girl, u too! :) congrats on the loss, u have a great weekend as well : ).

Sandyeee, that's nice your mom and sis are coming over. I miss your mom too, are u doing crafts together? :) oh that sounds like fun. YOu have an awesome time ohhhh and I saw the pic of you jogging, omg girl! :) you look dynamite.

MsP, always such a sweetheart........ty much  Oh you, it was pretty bad, yes. Things reached a crescendo and it got pretty bad. Things were said, my husband was (and is very hurt). They were driving us crazy via email and phone etc....(pressuring us, bullying really). Too much to go into but we literally were not sleeping well and were very stressed, Dh stopped contact and thankfully they backed off now and gave us a much needed breather. They will get what they want but for gods sakes, the approach and manner with which they took was quite awful! ugh. Anyhow, my DH is better, I do the best I can to cheer him up and with time I hope things iron out with his folks. On a positive note, we had my parents anniversary party and that was a big hit :). My parents were very happy and the dinner was excellent! It was wonderful to see my aunts again and it turned out to be a lovely sunny day! I miss my exercise jess, it helps in so many ways. W e went for a long beach walk last week but I need to get back to my usual schedule.
The kids must of looked adorable dressed as bugs! hahahah how cute :). Hope the building of your home is coming al ong great.....have a wonderful time with dh and the kids this weekend :).

GivTLC, so sorry to hear that you are sick! Wishing you a speedy recovery. I just re read your post, congratulationss to you on having met all those goals. I think u did great with trying the new recipes and wtg on walking those 2 miles every day (except for while u were sick). I am going to fix the goals list.....congrats on a great month and feel better.

TummyGirl, congratssssssssss on meeting goal chicky :carrot::carrot::carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::c heer3::cheer3::cheer::cheer::cheer::congrat: I saw your pic too! You look awesome girl, don't u dare minimize your successes.............u look smoking chick! hug :) What is the scoop with the ex. thread, do you or one of the girls want to start it (and maybe do the list if one of you has time) and I will do it on this end. We are growing! lol :) which is cool....I think this time of the year gets pretty busy too. Up to you, if your scrunched for time or whatever the case may be, it's okay....just let me know. We will get it up and maybe I will get my darn tail in there....ay ay ay, lol :). Hugssss

Have an awesome weekend ladies. See you in our new thread soon. Feels wonderful to be posting again!!!

Ms. P - Hubby has a lot of food issues from his childhood. I can’t take his cookies, if he’s going to stop eating them it needs to be because he chooses to. It would do too much damage to him mentally for me to just take them out of the house or refuse to buy them for him. I talk to him gently about it and I give him tastes of my healthier stuff so that he can see that it is yummy too. I am hoping that with baby steps and some gentle nudging he will get there.

Mystical - I get like that sometimes. I don’t know if it will work for you, but the ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ attitude gets me through those days. You don’t have to want to do it, you just have to do it.

Jessica - I’m so sorry your little one is sick. I hope she feels better soon and that it manages to miss you.

Cle - Congrats on making goal!

SG - I know, 15mph - he’s insane, I’m married to a loon! Thanks for the encouragement on the running. Yesterday I did just fine and then after I was done I did 2 30 second sprints at 7.2mph and 1 at 8mph. I ran 8mph!!!! OMG! The pumpkin pie smoothie sounds like a great idea, I am sorry it didn’t go well. I might try it for you, with just a bit of pumpkin, lol.

Tummy - It is really great to see him starting to care and I too feel bad for what I must have been putting the people who love me through. I don’t let it get me down though because now I am giving those people something to be happy and excited about. Also, kale rocks! It is one of my fav veggies. Congrats on reaching October goal!

Gekster - Congrats! I know the feeling about the license weight. I’m not even sure what mine says, but my military ID says 190. I didn’t lie, I just never told them when it changed. I’m only 3 pounds from it being true - woohoo!

Today is my 4th day at 193, but that’s ok because yesterday I was running at 8mph! I feel like a total rock star!

So I managed to get myself into the gym yesterday, but really don’t feel like I pushed myself enough. I’m planning on creating a workout plan for tomorrow tonight so I don’t slack as much and have some goals to try and reach. I am only a few oz. shy of 265 even right now and am hoping to work those off tomorrow morning, so I won’t be able to post my final October weight results until Monday as I won’t be able to get to a computer until then… Everyone have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!!! :badbat::spid::sklol:

Ok fine October. I quit. But look out November. Congrats to all of you who have done so well this month. I struggled with a few pounds and no matter what I did they would just not move. So I have given up on OCtober and have big plans for November. I have had a large number of none scale victories this month and for that I am thankful. But now it is war with my fat and my scale. See you all in November!!!!

Good evening ladies!!!

Nella~ sorry to hear you've been in a funk lately--so many of us are, what's going on this month?! I hope you got your workout in and you tell the ex to kiss your bootay!!! Hope that nonsense sorts itself out soon!

MsP~ so glad you're out of the closet! I think I need to lock myself back in. :lol3: My energy spurt was short lived--well, in terms of exercise that is. I've been tackling the house and getting stuff done around here which is fantastic. It's a bummer that something had to take a back seat, but hopefully with a clean house I can reset my brain to workout mode soon. You're nearing the end of your weight loss journey so it's only natural it's going to slow down--but you're doing AWESOME!!! And tell hubby Bravo for joining you! :) Congrats on making it to the 130's!!! :carrot: And size 8's!!! :carrot: :carrot: And making your October Goal!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :woohoo:

Lauren~ sorry about the gain, but it sounds like it'll be gone long before the tomorrow so hang in there!! Great job not giving in on those pumpkin muffins! I only say 'yes' if I make them since I know how much damage they'll do! ;)

Roxy~ ugh...I hate it when I have a bad run! But ya know what? It happens. The key is to just keep on trying, some days will be good and others will suck--just keep moving forward! WTG on not eating any candy!! Mmmm, roast duck! I've only had duck a couple of times and I LOVE it!! Hey, lemme ask ya, where'd you find polenta? I have a recipe for polenta and veggies and I can't find it anywhere!!! It says to look for refrigerated polenta...and I'm not finding it anywhere. :( Maybe I'm too far north?! I dunno. So glad TOM finally left! Geez, that guy really overstayed his welcome huh?

KimL~ not sure how many calories you're eating, but I eat 4 egg whites, 1/2 of Kashi Go Lean Crunch over a nuked apple and a cup of coffee for breakfast every morning and then a snack at around 10:00-10:30, so if it were me, I'd be upping my calories in the morning or at least adding a snack a couple of hours later. I remember back when I used to have a 6 ounce yogurt with some Grape Nuts and call it good--I would count down until my snack lemme tell ya! IMO, you need a bit more calories first thing in the morning, after all, you've been without food for quite sometime right? My guests (my mom & sister) will be here for a week--I can't wait!! :carrot:

Shasha~ :woohoo: Another C25K convert!! :D You'll do great! It's an awesome program for sure! WTG on making your Goal too hun!! :carrot:

FSA~ Hiya hun! Oh man you've been missed chickie!! So glad to see you popping in! Thanks so much for updating and posting the new challenge--I do hope we see MUCH more of you this next month!!

ShrinkingAmy~ WTG on the C25K! You'll be hitting the longer runs here soon and believe it or not, it's almost easier than all the stopping and starting. Just hang in there and keep on runnin!

Sweettooth~ ya never know what tomorrow might bring! You might hit the 160's yet!

Jen7~ it sounds like you've had an awesome month! More importantly, an awesome maternity leave!! What better way to spend time with your new little one than to spend it making positive changes in your life! :) That's wonderful!! You asked about the Yoga--it's actually part of the P90X workout and it's (in my opinion) crazy intense yoga! The workout is 90 mins long and whew is it a workout!! This is the only yoga I've ever done so I don't have anything to compare it too though so maybe this is what yoga is like all the time??

Tummy~ :woohoo: 70 lbs!!! Holy Wow!!! It boggles the mind doesn't it? I am so very proud of you hun! Sounds like you had fun shopping!!! :) That's awesome! Your little mini vacation sounds like it was a ball! Ahhh, what fun! Sleep sounds like just the key--too bad I'm not getting any! I think that's been my main problem this week. I've been going to bed at 11:00 and the girls have been waking up a lot and when that alarm goes off at 5:00, there's just no talking me into getting up. Sigh...so, even though I had my mojo back yesterday, today I lost it again and finally decided to just take this whole week off and start fresh on Monday. It'll be okay...I won't regain the 60+ lbs back...it'll be okay...

Mystical~ oh hun, you are not a lost cause!!! I swear there's something in the air--look how many of us are in a funk this month!! It's also this time of year. With the cooler weather comes the desire for comfort foods and such and sometimes it can be too much to handle. Add that with a big fat cold or some stress and it can snowball. Don't be so hard on yourself--be good to yourself instead! You have a new gym membership right? Why not treat yourself to a little You Time and get in some exercise at the same time? You'll feel better for sure. If you have to bake--try experimenting with low cal recipes! Challenge yourself to make it as healthy and 'diet friendly' as you can--but mind your portions of course. Now with all that said, here's some :kickbutt: :kickbutt: :kickbutt: going out to you--ya know, since you asked and all. Big  hun, we've all been there--and we're here to help pull yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the wagon girlie!!! :)

Jessica~ aww, poor little thing! I hope she's feeling better soon! Take care and try not to get sick too!

Cle~ :carrot: Congrats on making your goal hun!!! That's awesome!!! Now, I know we'll be seeing you in November right? Right!!! Woo hoo!!

Tummy~ Mmmm, your smoothie sounds yummy!!! (picture Monica from friends when she was eating Rachel's trifle!:barf:) :lol3: I love pumpkin, but I can't bring myself to drink anything pumpkin flavored. When Starbucks came out with their pumpkin spiced lattes--I thought they would be good--they smelled divine--but ugh...I just couldn't stand it! Congrats on the pound gone hun! Ahem...remember what I told you about losing at light speed now? :D Congrats on a plan free weekend! I live for those!! :)

GivTLC~ aww, so sorry to hear you're sick! I hope you're feeling better soon! Congrats on meeting so many of your goals this month! Next month you'll add those weights in for sure right? Right! :) Take care and get your rest hun!

Gekster~ congrats hun!!! It's awesome that you're back to where you were! You best be posting more next month or we'll be sending out a search party for ya! ;)

Taurie~ dang that TOM!!! Tell him to kiss it and leave you alone!!!

jellofer~ sorry to hear October wasn't your month--but you've got the right attitude! Bring on November!!!:carrot:

Mom~ only 3 more sleeps!!! :woohoo: I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!! :hyper: I sooooo need this! And I told Chris about going to Brown Co. on Thursday and it's a go!!! GIRL TIME!!! :woohoo: :D Okay, well, about October--it was a tough month for you, but man did you ever stick it out like a champ! You've really changed this past few months! The old you would have thrown in the towel long ago--you're doing awesome!!!

Well ladies, I had a pretty productive day. I got the office clean which means there's just one room in the house that needs a major cleaning and that's the playroom and that'll take all of an hour tops (that's with the kids 'helping' which always takes longer than if I did it myself). I'll put the boys on bathroom detail tomorrow and call it good! Oh, we also need to buy the girls mattresses this weekend too--mom & sissy will get to sleep in them while they're here and then it's bye, bye cribs for the girls!! *sniff* My babies are not babies anymore!

As I mentioned to MsP & Tummy, I decided to take this week off of exercising. I need to just chill out, take care of other things and find a little balance. With the holidays approaching I know I'll get overwhelmed if I'm not careful so I need to clear my head a bit and find a routine that's going to help keep me motivated, energized and feeling good--not one that's going to wear me out to the point of giving up. So, it'll be a work in progress I guess...we'll see. I do intend on working out again starting Monday--but just the P90X and we'll see how it goes from there.

Well girls I better get going. I would love to get a good night sleep for once! Hope everyone had a fantastic day and if I don't catch you all tomorrow (or this weekend)--have a great one and Just Say No to Halloween candy!!! ;)

Nighty-night!

:sklol:Amen to that sista!!!! Be strong ladies and have a Happy Halloween!!!! :haphal:

I'm doing a quick fly by post too--I just wanted to share a little NSV I just had! I had to return something at Sears and Payless Shoes and since Sears was open a hour earlier than the rest of the mall, I did some poking around to kill time. I ended up in the misses dept looking through a clearance rack and found some Levis. I grabbed a size 6 (since I have a couple of size 6's I bought at Goodwill that fit) and an 8. To my astonishment, the size 6's fit perfectly!!!!! :carrot: I thought for sure they wouldn't since Levis tend to run a bit on the smaller side usually--but they fit, they fit, they fit!!!!!!!!

I then headed to Old Navy to see if their size 6s fit as well and I just about screamed out loud when they slid right on!!:woohoo: I didn't buy them though--they weren't on sale ;)

Anyway, just had to share. :) Hope everyone has an amazing day!!! Take lots of pics of the little ones and don't touch the candy!!!!! Blech! It's full of sugar and preservatives and colors not found in nature--no matter how good you think it is--it's not as good as the feeling you'll get when you say that you were strong enough to resist it!!!

Now get out there and have a great Last Day of October and don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!!!

Hey Ladies!!

I have been so MIA this month. But it was because I needed to cut down my computer time. The good thing is that I didn't fall off the wagon and as of this morning made my October goal!! :cb: I was for sure I was going to miss it by a smidgen but I was so excited to see I made it, 4lbs lost right on the dot! I was worried too since yesterday's calories were a little higher than usual.

I don't have time for personals, have a ton of stuff to try to get done today. But congratulations to all those that lost this month!! And Tummy I did see your pictures, you are looking great!

Well, I'm down a touch more today so I'm inching closer to goal by the day. I have a plan to avoid the Halloween candy for tonight. We are eating out tomorrow and I am planning to eat pizza, so I will be having candy tomorrow also. I prefer to have 1 off plan meal than to spread it out over 2 days of off plan eating. ;) I appreciate that some of you say candy doesn't even taste that good, but that DOES NOT ring true for me AT ALL. I LOVE Snickers and Reese PB cups. YUM!!! They ARE worth it to me in small quantities on rare occassions. Having an occassional Reeses cup or Snicker miniature is not how I became obese. Eating a bag of them may have been closer to the problem! LOL So, although I will not be eating candy much, if at all, tonight, I will eat a few pieces tomorrow with no shame or concern. I have all my meals planned for a healthy, happy start to November with the one exception of lunch tomorrow, so I'm excited to see what November has in store. Knowing that the planning is set helps LOTS. I'm also excited to see so many checking in here at the end of the month and sharing their progress and so many already signing up for the November thread.
The scale was down a touch more today, so I'm at about a 6 1/2 pounds loss for the month which is fantastic for me. I could not be more pleased with my steady progress. It so satisfying to know I've changed my life so I can still be me and enjoy what I enjoy but be in control now. Treats aren't treats if you have them every day, eating healthy tastes great, and being at a healthy weight is priceless! I love that we're all on different paths to the same goal, but we can encourage and strengthen each other along the way. It's a beautiful thing. :) I love you guys!

Sandye - There is a store here called Fresh Market that sells polenta, but I usually just make it myself. It’s just grits after all. You get yourself some grits and add water or broth and whatever seasonings you want, boil them a few minutes and then let it simmer, stirring very frequently, until the grits are softened and the mixture is thickened. Then you can put it into a container to shape it if you are wanting to make slices - I use an empty crystal light tube, chill, slice, and brown in a skillet with some cooking spray - yummy! You can make up large batches and freeze it in the crystal light tubes (or whatever else you use for shaping). I love to make it with garlic and dill or garlic with a bit of minced olives in the mix, those are my favorites followed closely by sun dried tomato. If you don’t like the consistency with the grits (or can’t find grits), some people make it with corn meal, but that will be much denser and I’m not fond of it. Congrats on the size 6 fitting.

Ruth - Congrats on reaching October’s goal.

Ms P - I’m with you, a little of plan now and then is ok as long as it’s planned, lol. I will be enjoying one small slice of pumpkin pie tonight as well as a small serving of baked apples. Congrats on the 6.5 for the month, that is an awesome amount to lose in a month, especially when you are so close to goal.

Well, I’m still stuck on 193 - day 5, but that’s ok at least I don’t have to change my November start weight, lol. I had an awesome NSV today. I was at the gym, on the treadmill doing my C25K and then some sprints and some hills. There was this tiny little female person who was one of those, kwim. She kept giving me these looks. She wasn’t bothering me though, I could not care less. There was also a guy in the gym who has been in the gym same time as me a few times over the last several months though and apparently she bothered him because he walked over to her bike and (in a very quiet, but very angry voice) went off on her. She was stunned and was telling him sorry, and he told her she needed to tell me, not him, so she did. I told him thank you and he said “no problem, you’re doin good mama, doin good”. I almost cried and now I‘m almost crying again typing it out. So, that darn 193 can stay on the scale for 5 days, I don’t care.

:haphal: and :dust: to resist the candy!

Happy Halloween!! I made my October goal so I am happy about that. I put down to lose 7lbs and I lost 9 so I am very happy about that. Congratulations to everyone that made their goals and to everyone who is trying. I have been MIA so much but I will still try the Nov challange. I hope that's okay. See you all on the new thread.

Well... I weighed in this morning at 131.6... again... I've been weighing that for THREE WEEKS NOW!!! So for the month of October, I lost a whopping 1.4lbs... But my 1200+ minutes of exercise has done a lot of good for my shape, if not for my weight so I'm still happy I worked so hard. Next month will be tough since I'll be in Grand Cayman from the 4th through the 9th... yikes! Hopefully we'll do lots of walking... I'm taking workout outfits and plan to hit the gym at least twice, maybe three times - I don't want to fall behind on my C25K!

I didn't reach my goal. Well, I did get into the 83's, but for only like 2 days. It's ridiculous and I'm behaving badly again. Back at 85KG.

I'm working up a plan for November because I really do NOT want to enter next year in the 80's.

sorry I let you chicks down again :(
