Hi girls. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Food-wise, I did not. Luckily, life goes on :)
I'm sad it's Sunday night. I feel as if this weekend flew by. I'm not feeling up to starting a new week yet!
My throat/tonsils hurt. I really really hope I am not getting tonsillitus. Please no!
I have *1* pack of cigarettes left, then I am calling it quits. So give me another day, and I'll be a non-smoker :yikes: I'm so scared. I really don't feel ready, but I don't think I ever will. It's sooner or later, and sooner is better.

I had a bad eating weekend but at least I got some exercise in. I think it's the moon cake festival next week...my moms been making moon cakes = x_x, those things are very fattening and sweet but it's good. I'm not ready for my first week of real school. But I'm slowly getting into the groove of things.

On the bright side...even though I felt bloated this weekend my grandma says she thinks my face is slimmer and that I look better, yay :)

I made some bad food choices on the weekend at work but so far today I am back on track!
Home time in 2 hours (yay hurry up 5pm!) and going to walk the dogs :)

I am getting to that stage of not really wanting junk food as it makes me feel a bit yuck...hopefully this stage sticks around for a while!

Hi everyone! I'm new. I just found this website by looking up some random weight loss thing I saw on tv and it looked like it could help. We just had a big festival where I live which had funnel cakes, fried chicken, and TONS of other fried foods (like fried oreos which are AMAZING), so I kind of went crazy food wise. I'm currently at 195 pounds and I'm wanting to be around 135-145 and I'm having trouble! Anyways, HI EVERYONE! I'm Whitney!

Hi everyone, I haven't really posted for a while...last time I did it always seemed to be men and I am so over all that now that I feel I can start posting again without boring you all with my man issues!
I had a surprisingly good weekend, feeling very motivated these days as I just finished college FOREVER and am still yet to find a job so I have all the time in the world to dedicate to my healthy lifestyle :carrot:
Is there a Halloween goal thread on the 20-somethings forum? If not, I definitely think we should start one. I have a HUGE party on halloween and it's a burlesque themed night so I really want to look as sexy as possible...
I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi girls!!! Today was such a long day!! I really don't think I slept much at all last night, so it was really tough getting up this morning when the alarm went off. I have been eagerly looking forward to going back to bed since 5:00 this morning :) LOL

Even though I was so tired, I still managed to get to the gym. It was kind of amusing because one of my students (I work at a high school) was there with a friend and you could tell that she noticed that I was there and was trying not to be caught staring. haha

We're having pizza tonight, so I have been trying to stave off any afternoon snacking because of the extra calories, but I am absolutely STARVING!!!

Hello ladies!! :) I returned from Seattle probably heavier. I guess I'll weigh myself tomorrow. I tried, but my body doesn't like to travel. I did finish week 1 of C2K, so there's one positive.

Some little germ magnet (ie a child) was coughing on the plane last night, and now I'm sniffling. I've been drinking tea all day, but I think I just need a good nights sleep.
Luvja- good luck!! You can do it and I hope you feel better.
Icon - glad the car is fixed but yikes :(

I still have like 15 smokes left! Haven't quit yet. Probably by tomorrow evening, I'll be finished. Or I'm going to try to make these 15 smokes last me until tomorrow night, so I can start fresh as a non-smoker on Wednesday morning.

luvja You can do it. I am always available for support on here, e-mail or facebook. I really believe in you.

stella My body hates traveling too. I ALWAYS end up retaining water from the flight. Oh, yes and drinking too much - but that's a different story. I am sure your water and tea is helping!

chele I have been waiting to go back to bed too. But 5am? OH GOD. How do you do it? I am dragging butt at 8!! It's funny...I always use to think seeing my teachers in *real life* was so weird, too. ....I still kinda do. Haha.

Icon You're kicking some WL booty, aren't ya! Must be those lemon chicken crackers!

As for me - well. My second day back is going well. I am craving chinese and bbq...*sigh* I am sure these craving will pass again. They always do.

My bloating has been better too. OH OH I got new shoes today too. New Balance. They are really cool - and I got my step tested and they said I had a fairly normal walk. *yay*

I also got myself an artichoke. I love them and I wanted to have something to look forward to have with dinner.

I hope everyone is having a good monday!

I'm back I'm back! I finallllyyyy got my new computer up and running today :D AND I installed a bigger hard drive (500gb instead of the 250gb it came with) all by myself.

This weekend was Wildwood's annual Irish Festival, which is something my family and friends go to every year. Despite attempting to make good food choices and lots of walking, I still had a gain :c And today I definitely didn't drink all of my water and I didn't exercise because I was running all around SJ trying to find a hard drive that would fit my laptop! Tomorrow I'm getting BACK. ON. PLAN!!! >:C

Hope all of you lovely ladies had a great weekend and Monday! Welcome to the new comers :D

I hate weekends as I work in a call centre on saturdays and sundays. They just bought in this rule that no crunchy food allowed at desks so no rices crackers for me anymore (also no juicy foods so no fruit) :( however chocolate and lollies actively encouraged!
So i tend to purchase the yummy chocolate bars from the big lolly table in the middle of the floor :o

I think from now on, I will make low fat biscotti and chop it up into bite sized pieces to subdue the chocolate craving and not eat as terribly :)

Hi ladies! I'm new too and I'm a snackaholic. I did terrible yesterday. The worst part is I did really well during the day and then I went nuts for dinner. I went to Wendys and I think I had my daily WW pts in one sitting. Ugh. Why do I do that to myself!? Also, do you guys find yourself hungry late at night? I find myself hungry at 10-11pm (I'm a night owl) and well what the heck am I going to eat at that time!? So of course the easiest thing are snacks! I'm 28 yrs young and 30 lbs overweight. I'd like to lose it by my birthday which is 13 weeks away. I need your help ladies! Thx for letting me vent. :) I came across this forum through google - You guys rock! You are all walking success stories. :)

clare - I loved weight watchers, for the support of the fabulous ladies that work there. However, I didn't really follow it, always ended up doing my own thing (I just couldn't be bothered counting points or calories, never have) So I ended up quitting WW, no point in spending $17 every week if I wasn't going to follow the plan. Good luck! :)

Hellooo!!!

So I'm up almost 3 lbs. Considering what I ate while in Seattle, I guess its to be expected? As I was driving home from school last night I was like OKAY ITS TIME FOR YOU TO GET SERIOUS AGAIN. Seriously, I lost almost 30 lbs, I have the same amount go to, I can NOT get lazy. I get paid tomorrow so its food shopping for me.

Weekends SUCK. People are always over, and they're like oh, look, you have "special food." I cannot WAIT until I move out and I can have all my healthy meals carefully separated out, etc. Yay.

I didn't work out this morning - I was still feeling a little under the weather so I took the opportunity to get 8 hours of sleep and get myself healthy. I start Week 2 of C2K tomorrow, and I want to be better before then. I'm still going with the green tea.

Clare - I really like weight watchers, and it works, but I've found that once you get to a certain point you HAVE TO exercise. It just doesn't work if you stick to your daily points and don't exercise, because your body adjusts very quickly to what you're consuming.

Taylor - I WANT CHINESE TOO!! I'm going to get sushi at school tonight, hopefully that will satiate my Asian food craving.

Welcome Lynn!!

Platform - Oh, I miss Wildwood. We used to go every summer. Yay for water retention :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

Icon Maybe you will burn a few calories by swimming home? :swim:
...but let's hope not...

stella It is time for me to start getting serious again, too. I have been OP for 3 days now...and while I am feeling better a bit of the cravings have stayed. Needless to say I have been a tad... B!tchy. Sushi? OMG my favorite...but I can't seem to keep away from those darn fried roll thingies. I also don't like it when I have guest over and they are like "You don't have REAL butter?....All you have is fruit and whole wheat bread..." blah blah blah....

clare My boyfriend is from England..Manchester...and when ever we talk to his mom via skype she is always like, "It's raining...again...and dark...again..." haha. It's 87 in Colorado today...not to make you jealous...:D

Lynn :wel3fc: I am a snackaholic, too. But snacking is actually good for you if you eat the right thing. As for late at night - I am bad too. I get this sugar/salt thing going around 10...so what I do is save 150 calories for my night time. I eat a sugar free chocolate popsicle and then a 100 calorie bag of kettle corn for a total of 140 calories. Now, I don't do this most nights but if I gotta have something - I do it. Most nights I have either the popcorn or popsicle but I allow myself to have those things so I don't feel deprived. Anyway - I hope that helps. And there is a lot of popcorn in those little bags - enjoy! :cbg:

chele No, you are 29.5 and always will be. :D

09-29-2009, 07:19 PM
Taylor - Thank you!!! I will def look for that kettle corn. I rather have salty than sugar at night. Sugar keeps me AWAKE.

Ladies!
What do you guys do about emotional eating?? I am not sure if this is birth control pill related or what but I have this enormous amount of anxiety lately that has caused this quick weight gain. It is unbearable. I just want to eat everything. When I'm depressed, I don't eat. When I'm anxious, I want to eat anything in sight. I don't even care what it is...I just go looking for food. It's such a terrible feeling. What do you guys suggest I do???

Taylor86
09-29-2009, 07:59 PM
Lynn I also suffer from high anxiety and my suggestion is to workout. Get a good sweat on doing something your anxiety will level off. The chemicals released in your brain during a workout will counter-act those of anxiety. Also, try some deep breathing and maybe some thinking. Eating your heart out will not fix the problem at hand...so what will? I know when I am eating out of anxiety it is because I am afraid to go thru with the task at hand - whether that be a current theatre performance, a serious talk or maybe in your case our new healthy lifestyle. I use food to avoid my actual problem which then turns into more anxiety which then turns into more food. Does that make sense? Feel free to PM message me anytime!

luvja YOU GO GIRL!!!!

clare 6lbs? Oh, that is sooo wonderful!!! YAY:carrot:

Icon - I saw the earthquake thing on the news, hope everything is okay for all of you UnZed's today!

Lynn- I second Taylor's suggestion of working out. Chuck on a dance cd and boogie away in the loungeroom, drink plenty of water and snack on things like rice crackers and carrot/celery. You can do it!!

luvja- Good luck with the non smoking! It can be hard but I am proud of you for making the change, smoking is just not worth it.

Lynn - I'm another anxious one. I second what Taylor said about working out. If I don't work out, I go nuts. I've also really gotten into herbal teas, not expensive ones, mind you, Celestial Seasonings works fine, but I think its the act of just sitting there, breathing in the vapors, and just *relaxing.*

Taylor - I didn't go for the sushi, but I got chicken Pho. So good and so good for you.

Icon - I hope you guys are okay!! We were talking about the tsunami in my class tonight (PS - population ecology is enough to make you want to move to the moon)

I'm downloading my Seattle pictures now, and shall post them on FB soon. I found the 3FC group on there (thank you Taylor!!) so if anyone wants to see them, go for it. I'll post some here too.

For a hot snack, we have these little things called steam fresh vegies (frozen in little pouches), not sure if you guys have the equivalent. I bring them to work and cook them in the microwave as per directions then either melt a tiny bit of low fat tasty cheese over the top or add honey soy sauce/soy sauce etc for flavouring. Really keeps you going and satisfies the part of my brain that thinks a tiny snack isnt enough.

Luvja - GOOD LUCK. You can definitely do this :) :)

Icon -glad to hear you're okay - that wave must have been scary ;)

Taylor - I got a lunch box at Target - its actually a 12-can cooler, but its pretty and purple and insulated. I bring lots and lots of tupperware to work with me, and it fits everything nicely.

Lynn - GOOD JOB :) Good luck with the spinning. My advice - bring a towel, lots of water (and drink lots after) and PACE yourself. Just remember, it gets easier.

I woke up with my cat on my chest this morning. This is not helping my congestion, although maybe she's just trying to be supportive? lol
I started week 2 of C2K this morning. I was okay while running, but I tried to do the elliptical afterwards and my lungs were like NO NO NO. I've got to shake this thing. I bought green tea w/ antioxidants, decaf tea for when I can't take anymore of that, cold-ease, airborne and tissues. I'm not going down without a fight. I fully intend to go to spinning tomorrow (after skipping yesterday) and my Friday plans include W2, D1 and then 75 minutes of spin after work. This cold can go ELSEWHERE.

Happy Wednesday :) (and Thursday to you, Icon)

All I can say is, THANK GOD FOR SUGAR-FREE GUM :)

Yes! The only sugar-free product I can have, strangely enough.

Luvja - my mom smoked for like 40 years and REFUSED to quit. It got to the point where I wouldn't walk to the store to buy cigarettes for her because I was like NO, I'M NOT HELPING YOU KILL YOURSELF (and I never said no to my mom). She finally quit - and she did it by using the nicotene gum and regular gum. I was really proud of her - we always thought that between her and my dad she would have the "harder" time, and she said the gum (both kinds) really really helped her.

luvja

But, when I was like....9 or 10, my Dad was being an idiot and thought it would be funny to trick me, and give me a piece of Nicorette gum. Oh my God, I puked and puked. I think that traumatized me. I will not touch that gum again lol. Thinking back, my Dad was such a jerk!!!

LOL, my cat is ALWAYS on my chest. Or my face. But not in a hey-wake-up-I-want-to-love-you-and-snuggle-you-right-now way, it's in more of a wake-up-i-need-you-to-fill-my-damn-food-bowl-even-though-it's-full kinda way haha.

I noticed last night that my ankles are starting to come back. They're peeking out at the sides and they look.. I'm starting to see some real transformations in my legs after doing a month of pilates  And the walking. OH!!!! Ladies, guess what!!! Last night I was doing my start walking program after doing a Jackie Warner video and for the two fastest songs I JOGGED THE WHOLE TIME!! Like 10 minutes straight! Yes, this is kinda fake jogging in place like bouncing around on the balls of my feet... but it makes me think I might be able to go for longer on the treadmill! Wooo!!

Happy Wednesday ladies! Glee tonight :D

I've done spinning before - I LOVE IT! I love the fact that you burn 800 cals in 45 mins too. I do pace myself but I like the challenge too. The key is actually GETTING UP to do cardio - that's the struggle. Once I'm up and at 'em, I could go all day. lol

Thanks for your motivation, ladies! :D

Work is so blah today...this lady keeps giving me stuff to do. Who does she think she is - MY BOSS?!?! Oh yeah, wait. haha.

I'll chime in later. Later dolls! :D

:O Thanks! Happy 1st October everyone! White rabbits! Going to take some measurements today since its the first of the month, I am cautiously optimistic. I've managed to move around 1.2kg of water weight so far this week, if I can move around another 600g I'll be back where I was last week :dizzy: I am peeing like crazy I tell you!

Oh god, there is an ad for Santa's grotto on the TV. I'm not ready for Christmas yet!

Luvja- good luck, i am so proud of you  maybe the patches would help as a back up for the gum? Not that you seem to need them of course!

Lynn- My daily routine is to put it on free step and watch some Tivo'd shows for the 30 minutes. I normally average at least 3250 steps. I also do the advanced boxing, strength moves, and add in yoga when I have time.

Taylor- At Walgreens, I found a lunchbox that was 60% off. It is a zippered, insulated, soft sided that has plenty of room for 2 bottles of water and my containers of food. Most everyone at my school brings their own lunch, so, I see many teachers with Princesses and Lightening McQueen lunch boxes! :)

Claire- I sure do love it! 24/7 its available for me to use. Rain or shine, I'm always greeted with a friendly voice and encouraging words! :)

Luvja- CONGRATS ON QUITTING! And even though its hard now..... and will be for a while.... it will be worth it in the end. You are adding YEARS to your life. YOU CAN DO IT!!! :) :cheer:

Today was okay. I'm just determined not to stop until I reach my goal. I'm not gonna quit!

Good Evening Ladies! Haven't checked in, in a couple days. I started watching my eating on Monday and have lost 2 pounds and I haven't done any exercising yet. I plan on starting that tomorrow, for Oct Exercise challenge.

Taylor-- AWESOME that you have lost 33"!!!! :carrot:

Platform- What a great feeling to be 2 sizes smaller in only 2 months! That is great!!! :bravo:

Lynn: I have been thinking about taking a spinning class as well as Zumba my problem is that I get to worried about going to the class, like who am I going to run into and what if I look stupid. How should I deal with this ladies??

Hi girls. Well I have almost made it my first 24 hours without a cigarette! I have had some bad moments today, but it really wasn't that bad. I'm sure the cravings will be more intense the next few days though. I'm working nights tonight at the crappy new job which I totally hate, and by the way, EVERYONE smokes there, and takes frequent smoke breaks. This is going to be fun! Not. :nono:
Have a good night everyone

HI beauties!

Today was a fairly boring day for me. School and homework.

I did go to the store. I LOVE food shopping. I get to inspired to stick to my plan when I see fresh fruit and veggies in my basket instead of pizza and ice cream.

I also went to whole foods to get a few things I don't get anywhere else...raw almonds, my decaf tea...and I walked there with my dog and my boyfriend and felt really good.

Gosh, my life is BORING.

Ugh. Homework now.

Oh! Oh! Chris and I move into our house in 30 days! YAY!

helpme Congrats on those two pounds!!

luvja How are you holding up, babe? I am also sorry for your lack of humpy-ness. Sad day! (Haha, you posted when I did. I use to take frequent smoke breaks at work too - and it was hard to stop. But you can do it. You're in my prayers!)

Heather Thanks! I *NEED* to go get one ASAP! By the way - you inspire me. You just keep on going and going and I just know you are going to make your goal. Meanwhile - you always motivate me to keep on truckin'. You are amazing.

platform CONGRATS! That's so huge! I am excited for you!!! :carrot:

god i am so tired. I have been feeling really tired the past couple of weeks, i just have no energy or motivation to do anything. Twice this week I have had to cut my workouts short because I've been having to fight with myself so hard just to turn up. Eating is REALLY hard, most days I am around 80% on plan (not too bad), but every day is a battle and i usually end up around 50-100 cals over. I dont wake up with any kind of motivation or real "bubbliness" that I usually do. Everything is a chore. Writing lists and planning doesnt help. You have no idea how long it took to write this post :( I'm supposed to get up early and go to the gym tomorrow, but I dont think i'll make it. I just cant pinpoint what's wrong

edit: havent found phone yet :(

Have you ever been tested for anemia? I had it years ago and suffer from bouts here and there. I can definitely tell when my iron is low. I'm super sluggish, could sleep for days, don't have motivation to do anything.. etc. Sounds about like how you're feeling. I'm not diagnosing, just saying its definitely a possibility.

I'm sorry about your phone. Mine is my lifeline. I'm wayyyyy too plugged in all of the time. If I lost it I would lose my mind.

Luv -- I told you you could do this!!!! The hardest thing for me so far has been drinking. I was hanging out with some friends my 3rd or 4th day of quitting and had a slight buzz. My friend said I was literally staring her down on the edge of my seat every time she took a drag. I have noticed that smoke smells bad now... it will get easier! Just stick with it!

I got up at 5am this morning. That NEVER happens. EVER. I could NOT sleep for the life of me last night. I tossed and turned and couldn't get comfortable. I finally gave up and got out of bed at 5 realizing there was no hope. I was at work at 6:30 tihs morning. That never happens either. I have to be here by 7. I couldn't figure out WHY I was having a problem. My mom asked me about caffiene. Normally I have caffeine in the morning but we have caffeine free diet cokes at home so I rarely drink caffiene in the afternoon. GRRRRR!!! Luckily I managed to get rid of my no sleep headache.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! :)

I haven't been on this yet this week. Something must be wrong with me! It's my last week working in the school I've been at as a SPED para. So, I've been dealing with that. It was a choice that I made, but man ... it's been rough. However, I'm pleased with the decision because two jobs, school, three dogs, a husband and weight loss was a BIT much. :)

Today, ladies, is my birthday! I am now 23. :)

Helpmelose: Who cares about who sees you?! You can't go in with the mindset that you'll feel stupid. Luvja: Good job on quitting! I admire that! :) Keep going girl!

Ok so I was really bad last night after having a wonderful day. I won't even go into details, what's done is done and I don't wanna dwell on it. I have a fun social life and it gets in the way of my goals. GRR!! Today I plan to be extra good and do a little more cardio to make up for it. Oh yeah and LOTS of water. It's also my TOM which SUX! So I have been doing weight watches since around mid-august and I finally hit "onederland" for the first time in I can hardly remember how long so very exciting. Whats not so exciting is I'm gettin weighed tomorrow and I know I've had a bad week. Anyone else here doing weight watchers? Good morning lovely ladies!
*Not so much morning for you, Icon*
(I love giving you trouble...you just HAD to be different, didn't you? Couldn't be morning for you COULD IT?....):D

Anyway - if you couldn't tell I woke up in a fairly chipper mood today. Other than the fact my glasses are in my bedroom so I really can't see the screen - I am having a pretty good day so far.

(start rant) Have you guys seem the new progresso light low sodium soup? They are great! But then I saw the *full fiber* and the *no msg added*.....why can't there just be a *light, full fiber, low-sodium no MSG added* soup? geeze. I don't wanna choose between full fiber with extreme sodium or low sodium with no fiber. Why can't they get their act together! (End rant):soap:

I am going to my favorite bar tomorrow night with a friend and I am DETERMINED not to have a drink. I am gonna stick to tea and water. It's a piano bar that I love and I just don't wanna ruin all the great things I have done with this with a crappy night of drinking. In fact, I refuse! It won't be hard...I am enjoying the healthy way I am feeling lately!

I will have a few glasses of wine and some cheese with my Dad on saturday. I have dinner with him once a week and I enjoy doing this. He is also trying to get healthy so we are going to grill some salmon and whole wheat pasta and also through some veggies on the grill! Yummy!

Luvja Keep hangin' in there girl! And hit it right on the nose.."You kept busy and forgot all about it!" You got this!

stella Oh dear, babe. I am so sorry you are sick! That two pound gain is probably the fact you are sick and/or muscle. I bet you are loosing inches! This is just my opinion but I wouldn't spin today. Let your body rest and heal - that's just what I think. Keep drinking that tea!

Lynn I know exactly how you feel about the social life and goal thing. It's super hard. I like drinking as much as the next girl - but on friday I am gonna try and go out and enjoy myself without a drink. I will tell you how it goes! But you're right - what's done is done and all you can do now drink your water and be happy it's a new day! 10lbs is 30 days is a lot. That's more than 2 pounds a week. It can be done but maybe you should aim for 6-7?

KEmery:bday2you:

Feral I *HATE* early mornings. I whine if I have to be up at 8...which I do. Haha. How's the job? The non-smoking?

Icon I get more tired when the seasons change. And sometimes I can just be tired for two weeks...wake up and it's gone. Do you drink a lot of coffee? Is there something you are worrying about? Are you working out too much? It could be a number of things. I am sure it will pass. Have you found your phone?

Emac Hello! Welcome back! How are you? Congrats on getting to ONEderland! That's great! I know a bunch of girls on here are doing WW - I am sure you will find lots of support! Glad to have you back!

Hi girls. How is everyones day going so far? I slept a couple hours, ate some lunch, went on my elliptical for 30 mins, now I'm here. Since I quit smoking I am trying to incorporate atleast 30 mins a day on my elliptical, I am really trying not to gain weight!!!!!!!

OMG I JOGGED FOR 10 MINS STRAIGHT AND I DIDN'T DIE!!! :D :D :D

Oi, how did I accumulate this many clothes? I brought down my winter clothes yesterday, which also had some spring/summer mixed in with them that I forgot about. I went through and tried a lot of it on and started making bags for good will. 2 HUGE bags are going to good will, one is going to our local consignment store to see if i can earn some extra cash for buying next-size-down pants when I get there :3 I want to fit more comfortably in a 14 before I go buying a bunch of pants lol. (I have muffin top while wearing the 14/15's :< So... back to the workout room for some penguin ankle taps and obliques yaaaay 8D haha)

I feel good about getting rid of stuff that is just so big on me now that it would be ridiculous to keep. Yay, saying goodbye to ALL size 18 pants! I kept one pair for a picture when I reach goal :3 And then I want to see if i can recycle them into denim yarn or something (yes, this can be done). Also? I'M CLOSE TO BEING ABLE TO WEAR BOOTS AGAIN!! Like I said the other day, I've really started noticing my ankles. The tops of my calves are still quite ridiculously massive. But the bottom half has really changed shape since the beginning of September, yay!! I tried on a pair of my tall uggs which I could never pull all the way up - today I got them to go all the way up!! They're still a pinch snug, but they fit much better than they did before lol. ALSO, my "plus size" knee high boots, they're getting to be loose! The shoe part fits, but the leg part has plenty of room for light jeans/pants to be tucked in, maybe!

To those of you lovely ladies having a down week, I hope it gets better :C!!!

thanks everyone for the support. I feel a little better this morning. I think normally i am such a happy, resilient person that when i feel down its really unusual for me and i just dont know what to do with myself. I havent been tested for anaemia, hasnt come up before, but if this continues then i'll probably bring it up with my doctor. I have been worrying a lot- my thesis is going a lot slower than expected and I have had to take the extention for it- while this means i have until the end of feb to do it instead of the middle of december, it means i wont have much of a summer holiday and every day from now to feb 26th is planned out :( i've been staying up late, not doing study, but worrying about it because at the moment all i can do is wait on my participants to get back to me. The seasons are changing too (although changing to spring/summer, so i should be over the moon) but thats always a possibility. thanks everyone

Platform - I did the same thing!!! I had this one pair of pants that I wore pretty much three times a week to work (with different tops, of course ;) ) Anyway, I still have those in my closet for "after" pictures at some point in the future. I would ultimately LOVE taking one of those pictures where I'm standing in one of the legs. LOL

KEmery - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you're having a good one :)

I was dragging at the gym today!!! Oh my word, it took every piece of strength I had to make myself jog for 10 minutes on the treadmill. I have been up to 15 minutes at a time for the past couple of weeks, but I couldn't get there today. I still did an hour at the gym though, elliptical and treadmill....so not too bad.

Good evening (or morning) ladies :)

Icon - it sounds like you are just TIRED, girl. Kudos to you for keeping up with all of it.

Luvja - that sounds like a great plan about the elliptical. And it may help get your thoughts of smoking.

Taylor - that's why I make my OWN soup. I can control how much sodium, etc goes into it - I typically get the low sodium broth and water it down some, but add other spices.

Platform - 2 sizes in 2 months is AWESOME. And yeah, I recently got rid of a lot of my old clothes, it feels great and its motivation to keep on going because you can't gain weight - you have no clothes that would fit :)

Chele - an hour is not bad at you :) Good job for sticking with it.

KEmery - Happy Birthday!!!

I feel better. I didn't go spinning I took your advice, Taylor. I found out that one of my roommates had stayed home from sickness as well. He lives downstairs, I'm upstairs, so I didn't know he was here until I was heating up soup, he walked in the kitchen, and I screamed so loud I woke up roommate #5. We vegged and watched our episodes of Entourage, and now I'm just gearing up for getting up tomorrow to run. This morning I was 196.6, then all of a sudden it was like the floodgates opened and I'm back down to 195.6. I think it was just a lot of fluid retention. Hopefully the downward trend will continue.

Hey ladies.... I have a question... when you take your measurements (if you do), what areas do you measure? Meaning waist, do you measure at your belly button, below, or above? Also hips I take being the widest part of me a little below my butt... I want to make sure I measure the right spots I want to keep track of how many inches I am going to lose.

Icon I am sorry that you are have lost motivation and bubbliness... I am not sure what is going on but just think about how much you have lost 17kg is AWESOME!!! :carrot: Just try to keep your head up and keep exercising that is one thing that can eventually bring your energy level back up!
KEmery Happy birthday!! And congrats on your weight loss!!! I wish I were 23! Enjoy it, it goes by fast!!
Lynn I didnt realize they had videos.... but I should probably push myself to go to the gym. I can go for free and you are right who cares who sees me. I think the next class is Sat... either spinning or zumba.... now to get up the nerve to go...
Stella Sorry to hear that you are sick... drink some green tea and emergen'c
Platform conrgrats on being able to run for 10 minutes!!! :carrot: Also it is a great feeling to be able to get rid of clothes that dont fit. Helpmelose....I usually do where my belly button is for my waist and below my butt for hips. But in the long run, as long as you're consistent about where you are measuring, that's really all that matters so that you can track progress.

Happy Friday eh!! Not so happy on my end though, I have to work 12am-6am. Ew. I really really don't like this job. The nights are killing me, and screwing me up, and stalling my weight loss. Hardcore. I almost just walked out last night, I really dislike this dude that works with me (I'm sure the quitting smoking is making me a little edgy aswell ;))

I just walked with my dog for 40 minutes and NOW I get to go see my trainer for an hour! Dang!

The walk with my dog was not brisk walking but not a stroll either. Meh - it did me good and burned some calories. Plus - we are having amazing fall weather today!

I am going to be weighed and measured by my trainer today. I don't expect to see much changes...if anything I won't be surprised if there is a gain. I have only been OP since last saturday...

So I am going to my favorite bar tonight and won't drink. I am also going to get a salad, dressing on the side and no cheese and split with a friend. I am going to stick to some decaf tea or coffee...I can do this. I go there to enjoy the music and company *not* the beverages and chips. :cofdate:

luvja Have a nice time with the boy! And maybe if you eat not so nice you can, um...work it off...

We are taking her camping for the first time next summer and hopefully get her some private behavior lessons. what kinda dog do you have?

stella I am glad you are better! :cp:

Helpme My trainer measures my chest from across the middle, my waist above and below my belly button, my hips right across the hip bone and my thighs right in the middle. But I agree with Chele...just measure where you want to measure and keep it consistent!

I hope everyday has a *GREAT* friday!!

Taylor - She's a sheltie-shepherd mix. She'll be 2 at the end of this month :) She's my baby lol. Here's a picture of her (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc266/heartmaryvee/IMG_7568.jpg)

During my workout today I decided to walk on my treadmill for 2 miles instead of doing the start walking program. Then after a quarter of a mile I was like... JOG TIME. And I jogged the rest of the mile. Then I walked until I reached 1.5 miles then again I was like MORE JOGGING, FASTER THIS TIME!!! And I did :D But jogging in shorts was a BAD idea because I have inner thigh rub and now I have the rash of doom :c And I think I have a blister on my toe because I decided to run barefoot.

Oh yeah - I forgot to celebrate my NSV.

:broc:Yesterday marked 10 months cigarette and diet coke free for me. :carrot:

platformOh honey! She looks like a doll! I love having a dog. They are kinda like having a child, huh? My boyfriend and I were watching a movie in bed last night and she crawled (Molly is a 3 year old black lab) between us and fell asleep on me and snored. We couldn't bare to move her!
You ran barefoot on the treadmill? Honey - you are my hero! Way to go!! I don't think I could run at all..let alone barefoot!

Congrats Taylor!!! Yup, she's my baby lol. And the barefoot thing wasn't bad. I read in a Prevention article that you get a better workout because our bodies are designed to be barefoot lol. It's not a full-on blister, just sore. And I just worked up to running on it :D :D :D Next time I'll wear my sneakers though... The blisters aren't worth it haha!

Taylor - CONGRATS :) Very very proud of you :)

Platform - your dog is adorable! Do you have your own treadmill, or do they let you do that at the gym? Technically, barefoot is better for you, its just the way our feet were designed.

I decorated my office door for Halloween today. Yes, I'm a huge tool. I love Halloween :) And its OCTOBER. It is time.

We had a baby shower for my co-worker - I did indulge in sorbet and cookies, but I also worked out for 2 hours and walked out of the gym drenched, so I'm going to say I stayed within points today. I feel great! Hopefully my body just needed to sweat out the rest of the crap that was in it. I'm going to try and go spinning again tomorrow. The instructor I like is back teaching the Saturday morning class, and I want to get an early start b/c I have papers to write/studying to do.

Dude, so I went to see the new roller derby movie Whip It tonight, because I worked as an extra on the set for a day back when they were filming in MI... and you can TOTALLY see me! In the movie! I'm sooooo geeked :)

Okay, so maybe it's more like, if you know when to look and where I'm standing then you can see my blue shirt in the background, but still! I'm in a fricking movie!!!

And on the healthy side, I stuck with the grapes I smuggled in, even though I really, really wanted some ice cream. Maybe it's just because I couldn't figure out how to smuggle in the chocolate/peanut butter Culver's custard blizzard I've been craving for like a week :)

What a great start to the weekend!

Congrats Taylor!!!! :cheer:

Stella - OMG HALLOWEEN LOVE  The decorations look great lol!! I have my own basement gym - treadmill, leg/thigh toner thing, my brothers' weight set, mom's yoga bar, and the punching bag. I realized today though that getting a blister was ridiculously stupid of me because today I'm going to be walking around all day at the PA Renaissance Fair!! It feels better today, but that was really dumb haha.

Last night me and my friends made pumpkin scones with pecans and walnuts in them and they turned out DELICIOUS. Friday nights are our cooking nights. I just wish I would have bought some clotted cream to put on them...(I saved up almost allll of my calories during the day to have one and I only ate the small ones with margarine on them instead of butter) I did cut the recipe a lot and subbed in more healthier ingredients than the heart-attack-waiting-to-happen that the recipe called for. I'm pretty sure they're still a lot of calories though :<

But I feel ok about eating them because today I'll be at the Ren Fair and I'll be walking around and on my feet all day. Food choices there won't be too hot or healthy, buuuut I can deal and do a hard workout tomorrow.

Have a great day ladies!

platform wow - what a wonderful mindset about the food you are eating!! You wanted a scone so you saved up calories to have one and enjoyed without feeling guilty...you put better ingredients in them - then you knew your Red Fest food choices aren't going to be amazing (personally, I LOVE the turkey legs and plenty of beer...) but you are just going to get a hard workout in. You aren't beating yourself up - you are just planning and making the best choices with what life has given you. That is something I need to work on. Thank you for inspiring me today! Have a great time at Ren Fest! I am one of those theatre dorks who dresses up for it... hehe

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. School has kept me crazy, the cold weather has kept me from jogging, and so I haven't had any losses and am fluttering around 142, 143.

I've been setting forward my plan for getting back on track and trying some new strategies:

* Lowering my general caloric intake
* Planning my meals a few days in advance on TDP.
* Eating more prepackaged things - easier for calorie counting and portion control, particularly for indulgence foods like pasta
* Getting my butt into a gym routine. I find kit so out of the way, but its such an important factor in managing my stress and keeping me focused. I haven't lost weight at all since I stopped.

I cannot wait for Halloween either and am planning to dress up at The Black Canary...

Platform - I agree with Taylor, you're amazing:)

And I partially dress up for the Ren Fest too, so you're among friends, Taylor :)

souvenir - that sounds like a good plan - you can do it :)

Jessie and I are going to the MD Ren Fest next weekend. We usually go for pirate weekend, but we've both been so BUSY.

So after my two hour working out spasm last night, I decided to get up and go spinning this morning. I'm insane, but it gave me the perfect jump on the day. I also feel amazing. No more whatever I had, and I have sooo much energy. The large iced coffee may have helped that as well :)

I've been at the college library for the past 2 hours re-writing my notes (I have an exam this week and one in a few weeks) and now I'm just giving myself a little bit of goof off time before I start researching my papers. I also have to do marathon cleaning of my house tonight because our land lords are coming to visit tomorrow. Yay.

I hope you all have a great weekend!!! :carrot:

Sigh* Well here I am back again. This website helped me TREMENDOUSLY a couple of years ago when I lost the first 20 lbs. but I still haven't lost the second half and I've started to get a little out of control with my eating. I need to get back on track, buckle down, and lose the last 20 lbs. I know there is no better place and no better support group than 3FC 20 somethings! So here I am! Determined.
