The weekly results won't be up until tomorrow for our team. My laptop had a meltdown between challenges and this old computer isn't compatible with the spreadsheet. I've tried every trick I know to open the thing from the USB, and it still won't open. Tomorrow morning first thing, well, first thing when I get to work!

Thank you all for your prayers. I will keep you updated when I get some news. Did really well today. Finished workout a while ago. TOM hit yesterday and I was tired tonite but forced myself to do the shred.

Wow we had some big losers this week. Congrats to all who lost this week and hugs to those who didn't.
Can't wait to watch BL tonite.

:cheer3: :cheer3: Way to go Blue Team! :cheer3: :cheer3:

I am still struggling on the food front - my gym habits are getting really good, but I just don't seem to be THINKING before I open my mouth. Have to break that cycle and start being conscious of my choices again. My trainer told me tonight that he's leaving our gym soon, but gave me a few options so that hopefully I can keep my gym membership at this gym (convenient) but go to him at his new location for training. We'll see!

Hard to believe it's officially autumn now! It was 25C (77F) here today, and beautiful and sunny.

Ditto. I was soooo unmotivated, but hen watched BL, and did the shred. I hadn't done it in a few weeks and was pleasantly surprised I could do all the jumping jacks finally!! I only stopped for 5 seconds once and modified 1 exercise.

Scale was up at 180.0 because of stupid TOM :( I hate being a girl sometimes.

I keep seeing you guys refer to "The Shred"...I noticed at the store that there were 6 different BL workout dvds - including the 30 day shred. Do a lot of you guys use them, or mainly just the 30 shred? And do you recommend getting it? I'm tempted...very content w/my pilates (mat and chair), but I have a love/hate relationship w/my treadmill and was thinking about getting one of the BL workout dvds to use as an alternative. What do you guys think/prefer/recommend?

100+ lbs is pretty incredible. I am proud of us!

TOM is on the way here to! Drats! I am headed to Lake Havasu this weekend. Its our final weekend of the "summer" and we have only gone a couple of times. Life had different plans for us this year I guess!

Food today was a DISASTER! But I am gonna get back on track tomorrow. Its always hard when we are prepping for a trip. We tend to pick the easy groceries and not stock the fridge since were leaving. But I'll watch portions and get my exercise in.

Hoping I can start here and keep up for at least a day or two with the thread. I will be taking a pass on my weigh in though... simply because I won't be here to do it in time.

Mary - keep your head up, and your spirits strong. My prayers are with you and your son for his friend.

Dixied - blasted technology! Its definitely a love/hate relationship we have with these dang machines, aint it!

Off to watch TBL. Check back tomorrow! Be good to yourselves!

Food today was a disaster for me too. I barely ate anything this morning, no lunch, then ate a burger, fries and a coke for dinner. Technically even with that, my calories weren't that bad.... that's how little I ate earlier in the day, but I have got to get on a better schedule and make sure I always have food ready so I don't resort to fast food.

I still can't do much cardio because of this stupid lingering cough, but I did crank out some squats and lunges. I'm going to keep adding more reps and more exercises till I'm back to my old schedule.

102 pounds? Wow! Go us! Let's keep it up!

mebhealthy - I only have the 30 day shred, but I like it. It's hard, for me at least, but effective. I plan on using it again when I can start doing cardio. It was only $8 at Walmart so it was a good deal.

I have a few BL dvd's and I like them all. I have the yoga, cardio max, powersculpt, and bootcamp. I really love the power sculpt and bootcamp the best. I also have the shred which is good but I couldn't do it everyday. They are all hard and you feel like you got a great workout when ur finished.

maryshady....prayers still coming your way for your son, family and the injured boy (I know he is an adult.....but he is still a boy to someone) and his family.

Yesterday was a disaster food wise for me too but it gives me the rest of the week to work it off. Hang tough Bluesers!!!!!! Amazing that we lost over 100 pounds this past week. Keep up the good work and don't fall for the dreaded 2nd week pitfulls.

I am one of those who have really bad knees, are there any alternatives that I could do? One more question, which JM dvd would you recommend for somebody who has bad knees and very arthritic? My only cardio is swimming and stationary bike as my knees tolerate those activities and more importantly I am able to walk afterward lol.

Any response would be appreciated:)

Hello Team Members. So sorry to hear of the motor cycle accident, Mary. I've said a little prayer every time I read about it on the thread. Same with Jessie's mom, Diva.

I've dropped out of the POP Challenge. I'm just too tired to do the activities after I've walked for my exercise. I'm hoping my energy levels return to normal as my iron and Vitamin B12 levels go up. I fell asleep again before TBL was over last night. But I managed to stay awake until the last 10 minutes. Julio had just weighed in and when I woke up the show was over and it was half hour later. The show goes until 11:30 here and I was just dead tired yesterday.

Yesterday I did a few hours volunteering at the Goodwill Center and Foodbank and also was gutting out my mother's room to turn it into a study. I was putting a shelf up in the closet and it was stuck. I was trying to move it and I managed to knock the shelf out and also the bracket holding it up. The shelf hit me in the face and arm and banged into the door knob of the room door and put a big dent in the metal middle. My nose doesn't feel quite right today but thank goodness it isn't broken and the shelf is finally in the right place.

100+ pounds is the loss of a small woman. :D

Have a good day my Blue Team.

Morning Teamies!

I'm gonna "try" today's POP Challenge against the kitchen door, but I'm not making any promises. I have had bad knees and I don't wish to hurt them again so any hint of knee pain and I am done. LOL! I think the 43 squats makes up for it! hehe!;)

I have some errands to run and then hit the GYM today. I'll prolly push myself to do twice as much today since I skipped yesterday because that's how I roll. I feel "guilty" when I don't exercise everyday. What's up with that?! Who am I???

Thanks for the prayers for FH's Mom. She did really well, and may be able to go home tomorrow. She still has to have the other side done, but they have to let this one heal up first. So she is doing well. :) The only thing is, her lifestyle is going to completely change, as is his Dad's. She can no longer drive, which means she'll prolly have to quit working too. This is a VERY independent woman who always has been the care-taker, and now Jesse's Dad is going to have to take on that role, as well as do all the driving, and he hates driving himself after HIS Stroke, so.... I feel bad for them.... Does this mean I have to now worry about this with Jess too as he grows older? :(

Wow over 100 lbs total?! Rock on blue team! :carrot: I'm so glad we did great! I'm feeling a little bit down today because even though I'm only 3 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight, my old jeans are not even CLOSE to fitting. :( It seems I'm going to have to lose even more just to be the same size I was before. How is that possible?? Is it just the skin or is the fat in a different place now? :?:

Mebhealthy I have the BL Cardio Max and I love it. It's pretty tough--I have to modify quite a few of the moves just to be able to do it, but it gives me something to shoot for.

Sorry Retiredone for the nose! Nothing hurts worse than nose injuries!! Glad to hear it's feeling better.

Hope everyone has a "blue" day! :D

if you have bad knees, than perhaps best not do the wall squat. dont want you injuring yourself!!

also for those attempting it, please be careful and i found this bit of advice

Make sure your knee never extends past where it's in line with your ankle. You should always see your toes.

i understand about having a bad knee, i have one bad knee, when i was a kid, i was doing a cindy crawford video and it came out of its socket when i was doing a lunge! stupid me, slipped, it was very scary and horrific. luckily my mom came to the rescue and snapped it back in!! as i fell down to the ground. so i really dont like doing lunges anymore, and am really careful when it comes to knees.
its my left knee, and when i feel pain, i stop, whatever exercise i am doing, whether its squats or what not.

you could try the wall squat, just dont bend down to 90oc, stay further up. and make sure you knees dont go over your toes!! and just try for as long as you can, even if its just 5 seconds. dont go down low.

i found this article for you
check it out - its got information about proper form!! very informative.

inkle, mary, bigsexy- thanks for the BL workout input! I doubt I could make it thru any of them, so all would probably work great! I think I'll pick one up next time I'm at the store.

I'm home from work today w/a sick 3 yr old, so not much of a chance of more exercise...He just wants me to sick next to him and hold my hand.:( I think it's probably just a 24 hr stomach bug. He's not eating, so I just grab little bites of stuff every once in a while (unfortunately cheesecake bites are very handy). DH has been gone for about 1 1/2 wks, but gets home later this afternoon, so maybe I can peel myself away for a little while and hop on the treadmill. If I'm lucky maybe I can turn it on, too! lol

My weight keeps creeping up - GRRRRR - and since DH is finally home for 4 days straight we've got a special lunch date planned on Friday and then taking our kiddos (3 and 5 - assuming everyone is healthy) out of town for the weekend...4 - 6 pound gain every time - no matter how much walking I do or how close I watch what I eat...maybe it's something about sitting in the car for 4 hours straight, who knows. :dizzy: And here I was hoping to be a loser next week! Oh well.

UniquelyNormal- Kuddos to you girl on passing up the ice cream!!!! You're an inspiration! :)

I am one of those who have really bad knees, are there any alternatives that I could do?

While doing these, place one of those plastic kids balls...about 12 inches around?....between your knees. This helps keep your knees aligned. I found that I have no issues doing the wall squats when I do this.

Well, team. I waited a bit too long to get my flu shot. I've just spent the last two days in bed with fever, chills and a massive headache. Today, I'm feeling much better and have been catching up on Dr. Oz. Wow! What a ton of very practical and useful information. Watching the show has convinced me that I need to take charge of my health and quit just drifting through life.

Please keep my Georgia neighbors in your prayers and in your thoughts. Our state has been hit pretty hard by flooding. Many of my neighboring communities are under water. Many of my friends are stranded with no way to get to stores, etc. This is a sad time for so many. I'm hoping to recover enough from this flu to go out and help in some way. I'll be contacting my church for opportunities to provide my support.

Have a great on-plan day.

100 lbs!! Way to go team :bravo:

I weigh myself everyday, (so I don't stress about the fluctuations as much), and I'm down another pound since Monday. Hopefully, it will still be gone on my official weigh-in day.

Echo, I am going to sit out of the challenge for this week as I have a few injuries, (one old and one new), that are bothering me right now. So, I don't want to do anything outside of my planned workouts, as I am scared of aggravating them more. Looks like a great challenge though!!

Roni, glad to hear that the surgery went well for Jesse's mom.

mebehealthy, I hope your son is feeling better soon.

wow weird coincidence!!

yah i know i was scared of doing squats in the beginning, but with the proper form, sticking your bum out!! and actually saying to yourself, to stick your bum out, helps with the form. doesnt put the pressure on the knees anymore. and making sure your knees and toes are facing forward. which helps too.

Heya all you squating bum sticker-outer week 2 challenging Bluesies!

I am optin out of the challenge (although ECHO, you rock! way to take it on and mix it up!) but I am having a chaotic week and needing to get ready for the river. We are leaving tomorrow night... will be back Sunday. So starting late and bailing early, I chose to forgo trying to get to the challenge.

Hope you are all working hard! I am going to post a weigh in "pass" for this week since I'll be gone. But wanted to say stay strong and push each other! We can do this! Talk to you all Tuesday!

Alright Blue Team, the week 1 results are finally up. We've formatted it differently, and I really like the new style. Turns out we lost, but we lost 108 pounds as a team. WOOT!

Another NSV to report: I'm comfortably wearing size 6 pants today. They might even be a smidge big.

Back to work for me, posting is still going to be sporadic until this busy phase is over. :(

Congratulations to the Red Team on winning week 1.:carrot: Don't know how they managed such big losses. Wow! But 108 pounds for Blue Team is a winning team in my books.

Dixied, I'd love to be able to slip into a size 6. Right now I'm tightly squeezing back into my size 10s. You are inspiring.

Diva, I watched that little girl talk to her father. So funny. DH wanted to know what in the world was going on. I didn't try to explain. hahah

I got up early today to make a batch of bread so I could leave it to rise in the bowl while I went for my walk. While I was kneading I looked out the window and it was raining. Good thing I made the bread first this morning or I'd have been drenched about 15 minutes into the walk. So after the bread was made I jumped on my bike instead and the both the bread and I did what we should. I got 45 minutes and 12k and the bread rose beautifully. I just took it out of the oven a few minutes ago and it looks like a great batch. Won't know til tomorrow though because we have half a loaf left from last batch that probably won't be gone til tomorrow.

Gotta run (er,ah, I mean drive) to the Goodwill. Our church's turn this week. Catch you all this evening.

Wahoo Blue Team!! 108 pounds is great!!!

Dixied - Grats on the Size 6! I can only dream of that size right now, lol.

I'm really hoping this week will show a nice loss as soon as TOM is gone. I went over on cals yesterday and didn't get to work out, so today I am making up for it. Sometimes a girl just needs some chocolate ice cream though, ya know?

Hope everyone has a great day!! I need to catch up on the POP challenge. I've been slack on everything this week.

Food is not even close to perfect but I can honestly say I am doing my best with the options I have at this point.

Yesterday i did two 9 mile rides on the exercise bike and I am about to head in for another one.

GirlyGirl---I will have your neighbors and friends in my prayers. I have been watching on headline news and seeing pictures of schools and everything under water. I am in NC so not far away from you! Scary!

WOW - 108lbs that's awesome everyone WTG blue team

Congratulation to the Red team for their losses and their win

Diva: Glad to hear that Jesse's mom did well in her surgery and I am totally up to see if we can do the 150lbs challange...even if I have been soooo lazy this week. I am up for it.

Bixsexy - Everytime I seem to gain and lose my sizes are different each time so I feel your pain of not fitting in the smaller size but it will come sooner than you think:)

Echo - Thanks for the challanges I haven't done any yet as I have been tired and busy but I am off Friday and Saturday and hope to catch up on all of them.

Dixied - Size 6 wow WTG

Suzie42 - WTG on the exercising

econ nerd - 2.8lbs so far congratulations

girlygirl - my thoughts go out to all of your friends and neighbours

Well not much new on my end I have been very good with the eating but not so good with the exercise. I too feel very guilty now when I miss a day but was very tired at the start of the week and very busy during the last couple days with work and then meetings at night. I just hope when I work out Fri and Sat that I will still see another loss for the week.

Ooohh! DIVA - that's a great little video! I laughed the whole way thru! My 3yr old has insisted on watching it 3 times already...he's begging for a baby...hmmm...maybe after I lose another 30 lbs! I hate thinking about having to relose all the weight again, but since my body is already warped and mishapen I guess it doesn't matter! :)

I am really focused this week. I have been really good with my eating and busting my butt working out. I am shooting for 7lbs this week. May be too ambitious but not guts no glory. I do have some good news. I have already went down one pants size. From a 18 pants to 16. Keep it moving.

Hey ladies! Just updating while Grey's Anatomy is on a commercial break :P

Had a great session at the gym tonight - left feeling strong and invigorated - my favourite feelings!

Also had a super yummy dinner to share - whole wheat goat cheese ravioli with peas, a Laughing Cow wedge, and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Yum!

Stopping by to say Hi. Been so tired this week with TOM and all. I did do my workouts everyday and eating was ok. So far .5 lost. Thanks for all the prayers for Robbie. He is now moving hands and feet when they lift the sedation but he still is not following commands (wiggle your fingers) but thank God he is still alive. Please continue to pray for a complete healing.

I have been too tired to even attempt the challenge but I might do them all this weekend.

Dix-Congrats on the size 6!! You must be walking on air.

Rhonda-Your neighbors are in my prayers

Everyone else keep up the hard work!!!

Mmm...funnel cakes...oh wait, ok, refocussing...:)

We're heading to Silver Dollar City for the weekend once my kindergartener gets home...No matter how healthy I eat I always seem to gain when we go, SO I just entered my weigh-in to avoid hurting the team. :o Down 1/2 pound...best of all, I'm packing our clothes and thought it would be nice to throw in a sweat shirt...Maybe that 13 yr old one that had been hidden at the top of the closet that didn't fit. IT FITS! I wore this thing on my honeymoon 11 1/2 yrs ago! Overall this year I've lost 43 pounds and this is the lowest weight I've been in at least 8 or 9 yrs. WooHoo! I don't want to take the sweatshirt off, I'm so excited! (Hey, maybe I can sweat a little off wearing it...)

Mary - it's great to hear Robbie is moving a little! Keep us posted!

sorry me again. i'm so proud of my decisions today , i thought of you guys and wanted to share it with you all !! as i know you guys would appreciate it , since we're on virtual biggest loser "show" hehe

so at the coffee shop i ordered a skinny hazelnut latte :)

and for dinner i had a 6 inch tuna subway sandwhich on oat and honey bread. and filled it up with veggies and pickles and sweet onion sauce and abit of southwest for kicks hehe. but the point is, i said no to cheese, and no to fattening chicken or beef ones, that i would normally go for..and actually normally i would go to macdonalds !!! but i remembered Bob and all those subway scenes from biggest loser!! lol

it was filling! and i was very hungry. i even left a few bites of it. and then had the remaining an hour later

i'm so proud of me, for ordering a subway sandwhich. Bob would be proud!!! lol. i remember the scene with Max, when he cuts the cheeseburger in half and says, are you full yet ? lol

usually i would have gone to macdonalds or bought a tuna in white bagutte from pret, but not today! felt like i was on the biggest loser hehehehe. and plus walked extra and caught only one train instead of catching two different trains.

i felt great at the choices i made today :)
the biggest loser really has changed my whole outlook!!

and plus being part of this challenge. my plan this week was to not gain !! either stay the same as last week or lose 1 lb or something. as i'm studying for my exam on monday so am under pressure.

tommorow is literally my last chance workout (revision) for my exam, and for the weigh in on sunday lol. i love the phrase, last chance workout! hehe

want to leave sunday to relax abit and so gonna do major cramming for my exam tommorow!!

sorry for the long messages! thanks for listening. love my team mates!!!

go blue team! :cheer3:

Hi girls -

I actually tossed my cookies from exercise last night. That's a first! Not the kinda diet I had in mind. I think I figured out why though but it could have been one of several things. I'm going to be sure to be more careful about when/how I hydrate, keep an eye on overheating, and maybe choose a better post workout snack (It was a Dannon Light and Fit that I ate that revisited)

The week has been okay I had one bad food day hopefully my activity made up for it, but my loss won't be huge this week.

Just weighed in at 177.4....so that's a loss of 1.4 lbs. for the week. I am really happy with that since it was TOM this week.
Got up this morning and did 45 min Turbo Jam. Love that workout wore my sensewear and I burned 500 cals in that time frame.

Have some obstacles this weekend. Housewarming today but I know what I will eat. Roast beef, green salad (bringing my own dressing), and fruit for dessert. Then tomorrow they are throwing a beef and beer to raise money for Robbie's medical expenses. He doesn't have any medical insurance and when he can be moved they want to bring him to NJ as all of his family lives here. I plan on eating before I go and the alcohol won't be a factor its just the food! lol!!

Have a great Saturday!

I've been doing pretty well with food and exercise so far this week. I've gone for my 45 minute walk each night this week and did Wii fitness an hour each evening as well. So hopefully I'll see a loss at the next weigh in.

Way to go on working out so hard this week! Keep up the hard work:carrot::carrot:

Hi everyone :)
I have a question regarding the weigh-ins. I weigh myself everyday, but I always make Monday as my official weigh in day. So, this week I have seen 201 on the scale twice, which would put me down 2 lbs since Monday. Now I am worried that come Monday I might be up a little on the scale and am wondering if I should just go ahead and record my weight now. How does everyone else that weighs themselves daily choose which day to record? Wow, that was a long drawn out question :D

Anyway, so far this week has been good. I have been on track with my eating and exercise.

Mercy - Congratulations on leaving the 140's - awesome!

Echo - Good for you for sticking to your plan and making healthy choices :bravo:

Bigsexy - I find the same thing regarding healthy foods being more expensive. It sucks and it really should be the opposite!

Mary - 1.4 lbs is great! Congratulations.

thats a really good question Narnia. i also weigh myself everyday. but i have chosen one weigh in day, which is sunday for me personally. and i am going to keep that day so that my weight records is consistent. no matter what. i've already seen 1 lb loss today, but im not going to record it as tommorow is my chosen weigh in day, and come tommorow i might gain again, but thats okay. as it might mean next week will see a loss or a bigger loss.

as its best to see loss after exactly 1 week.

i also worry that i might gain abit before my actual weigh in.

my advice. choose ONE day and record your weight for that day. keep it consistent, will be better in the long run

I think technically you can record whenever you want. I always do it on the same day same time figure I'm not really doing myself a favor by playing number games. If it was down for most of the week it will be down even more next week. Anyway that's just me. :) If you're coming up with a gain you could always use a freebie week.

Hello my sweet blue ladies. I had a 2.5 pound loss this morning. I'm finally chiseling that 15 pounds off that I put on this summer.

Mary, you're not too lazy to make bread, you're too busy. Big difference! I'm retired and have all kinds of time to make homemade bread. All my kids are married and left home. I do as little house work as I can get away with but I love to cook and bake. :)

Sounds like we are losing good and steady this week and victories are being won. I had my free day today and I may have overdone it some on the ice cream but I only had one real meal today. Breakfast was scanty because I knew I'd have a big dinner and supper was skipped because I had more than enough for the day already. I was still full and still am and it's almost 9:30 pm. That's how Saturdays go at my house. But it will be another week before I have another dessert.

Anyway, hope everyone's weekend goes well. Catch you all tomorrow.

Hey gals! I have a lot of posts to catch up on for the past couple days, but need to share something first. I started a workbook a couple weeks ago called The Food & Feelings Workbook and it is really helping me with my binge eating. i am actually kind of blown away that it is working actually! i am only at the beginning in chapter 2, but I am already to the point I am recognizing some of the feelings I normally stuff back with food. I have known for awhile taht food is what keeps me sane because i use it as a way to block out pain and all emotions that may break me down, but now I am slowly starting to deal with them, feel them, and accept them some. It's scary and very painful emotionally and i know I am only at the very beginning of what has been "eating me" so I have fear over whether I can really handle everything that I am going to have to face if I do not eat it away. Sounds so silly saying it here, but it's true and I wanted to own the truth.

So, if I seem kind of loopy or disappear for a few days here and there, it's probably some emotional trauma that I am not allowing myself to eat through. I am actually starting to not want my typical binge foods. i still have those urges to eat at the slightest emotional thing (which is all day for me lately) but it's somehow easier not to do it, or I do but not nearly as much as I would have before.

It is working and I am thankful but hate the book all at once. i jsut wanted to share in case anyone else deals with binging and emotional eating. You have to commit to the exercises for it to work, some seem silly until I actulaly do them and then they help so much. Some are so simple I am amazed something so simple can be such a huge help!

Okay enough about me...going to catch up on ya'll.

hey guys!

i'm happy to report i have a 1.1 lb loss. I know doesnt sound much. but its alot for me! because i've had a really stressful week this week. my most stressful week of my entire year. i have the most important exam tommorow.

anyways i didnt get time to do proper workouts, so did random pop type challenge workouts sporadically through the day, aiming to hit at least 250 calorie burn each day. which over the week adds up to a 0.5lb loss.

i wanted to either maintain my weight loss from last week, or lose 1lb. i did NOT want to gain!!

so i'm happy with my loss :-) :cb:
===

also if you guys want to participate in the sundays challenge, you can. you dont have to do the other challenges if you dont want to.

sundays challenge was suggested by Bigsexy (thank you! awesome idea, love it!)

time taken to complete 1 mile (whether its walking, running, jogging, or a combination)

what is your best time for 1 mile.

use google maps if you're running outside to figure out how far 1 mile is.

good luck everyone !!!

Hi team!

Not much to update about - just trying to stay on top of everything til wedding time!

I did buy a new scale today because the old one was starting to get a bit unpredictable after 2.5+ years. The new one is a big step up - it does body fat % and weighs in tenths, whereas the old one only did half pounds.

Do take time to get better!! I had swine flu for a week and then had to play catch up at work - I just took it easy and slowly got back to my full work out routine within 2 weeks. I just had to be patient! Take care of yourself! :)

Uncle has been re admitted to the hospital so I spent the day there today and food wasn't good......on top of the scales showing a gain yesterday so I am hoping to at least hold my own tomorrow morning......I hope I am surprised. Started thyroid meds this past week so I don't know if that has anything to do with the gain or if it is just the stress. NSV was a size smaller pair of jeans which limited the not good for me food today but take what I could.

Hey ladies, checking in real quick before I'm off to bed. Have to work extra hours this week at work, so squeezing in my workouts should be interesting. I'm hoping for a good number this week. I've limited my eating out...which is a huge deal. DD wanted McD's yesterday. I gave in and let her get it but all I got was a dt dp, came home and had a tuna sandwich and a cup of applesauce.

I've been thinking about trying those 2 fruit aday drinks, has anyone tried em?

Amy-hope you get to feeling better

Mary-I love turbo jam too!

BigSexy-it does suck how much healthy food costs! My husband doesn't do healthy so I end up buying groceries for him and then my food.

Echo-1.1lb lost- is good you should be proud of your self

Mara-pop thread

Iwana-I'm sorry about your uncle. Great job on the smaller size of jeans

practice-whens the wedding?

skinny-I think its great that you're getting down to the bottom of your emotional eating. I too am an emotional eater, mostly when I'm stressed or depressed. Where did you get the workbook, I'd be interested in learning more.

retire-great job on the loss

Ok so I said a quick drop in....I best get my butt to bed, 5:00 will come way to early.

 everyone
Just time for a quick post before bed.

Thank you Echo and Idealmuse for your answers regarding daily weighing. I am going to take your advice and only record Monday's weigh-ins, as what you both posted made perfect sense :)

Amy, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Good Morning Bluesers!!!

Decided to change my eating plan this week. I am going to do Body for Life for a few weeks. I had done it a couple of years ago. It is a lot of prep work but I felt fantastic. I have felt so tired lately and I think its my eating I am staying within calorie range but eating too much junk food. Got up this morning and did UBWO and I will go shopping tonite for all the stuff I need but I have enough for today. Will do personals after work.

Have a great Monday team:D:D:D

Hiya Bluesers,

I've been in a horrible place with my eating lately. I've been fighting the demons in my mind and not doing very well. Today, that ends. I've stocked up on the healthy staples and I'm focusing on eating healthy and walking each day. I'm also starting to read and walk through the The Beck Diet Solution. I need to work on my head as wel as my body.

Have a great on-plan day.

Rhonda, I heard that's a really good book. Good luck with getting it back on track. :)

Dream, My guys don't really eat healthy either and I usually buy and eat differently than they do, but sometimes they will eat what I do. It does make me mad that all the unhealthy stuff is cheaper than the good for you stuff. And they wonder why America is so fat, Hummmm I wonder?!!! :dizzy: I just factor in what I NEED each week even if it means they don't get their junk. My Health is more important and I think my man finally get's that. After seeing a friend at work have a seizure and then stroke when his sugar was WAY too high. He ended up crashing his car, was in the ICU for 2 weeks and now that he's back to work, Jess says he isn't the same man he was before. He doesn't want that happening to me, so NOW, after 4 yrs of being Diabetic he "gets" it. men...

Anyhoo, I only have 1 pound loss to report (and this was the day AFTER WI last week). I'm a slow loser like that, but I'll sure take it!
This is also day two of taking a rest day. I think I am over exercising and it's not really doing me any good. All that's happening is I am totally drained and not much good for anything. Yesterday all I could do basically was ly and around and sleep. Sunday's are usually house cleaning and Laundry day...well nothing got done. Even with all that exercise and mostly eating right I haven't lost anything since Sept 22nd so.... I think I am cutting back to only 4 to 5 days a week, and maybe not an hour on the Helliptical. Maybe only 30 to 45. And only 2 days a week of Strength Training...We'll see...Our muscles need rest too...

Anway, I hope we all have a good OP week!!!!

Echo, Good luck on the Exam girly! I'm thinking about you!

Good morning team!

I think we all need a good quote of the day again today, so here it is:
Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there. ~Josh Billings

I missed one workout last week, which I'm annoyed about, because the only reason I missed it was that I didn't plan well enough. I did get in a long walk on Saturday though, so at least I moved my body!

Rhonda - I've heard good things about that book too. Glad you are sorting through all the tough stuff. For me, I find the nutrition and the fitness aren't hard - it's all the mental/emotional stuff that's the challenge! If I can set aside the mental/emotional, the rest is easy by comparison.

dream - The wedding is in 12 days - October 10th!

Morning all! I got home from our river trip late last night. Even a blown trailer tire on the way home could not ruin my FABULOUS WEEKEND!

Suzie - TOM has got me WAY up too... I already used a freebie this week (not knowing that I would be back in time to weigh) but we will beat it girl! EVERYONE goes through the fluctuations!

Practice - LOVE YOUR QUOTE OF THE DAY!

I realllllly want to got through and do personals, but I gotta get my butt of the computer or I will be here all day. Gonna be unloading the boat, doing the laundry from the weekend, and catching up in the house. I hope you all have a fantastic day and I'll check in later.

PS what day do we start a thread for week 3?

Hey everyone! I hope yall are having a great week! Don't forget to weigh in! GEAUX BLUE TEAM!

It was my birthday this past week. I'm a whole, huge 27 years old. I was surprised to weigh in at 136 on wed, which was a 3 lb loss, but it was good because I knew I was going off plan for my birthday weekend. I had Raising Cane's, steak, mac-n-cheese, ice cream and cookie cake... so I was dreading weighing in today, but it wasn't do bad. 136.5, which is a 2.5lb loss so that's pretty good for only working out one day.

I'm hoping for another decent loss this upcoming week because I'm scared that the closer I get to the last 20lbs to lose, the harder it will get. And I really want to get to goal. It's been almost 10 years since I've even been in the ball park of 115.

hey guys sorry i havent been around this week.. i have spent all week in bed.. i was very unwell.. with pnuemonia .. and found even the most simple things exhausting ... im still not 100% but im far better then i was.. i have had a gain of 1.1lbs this week .. and its now the school holidays here.. so my exercise will be minimal since i wont be able to go to the gym or walk the dog ... anyway. Ill be in when i can

I know how you feel. It took me forever to get over the stupid swine flu. Don't rush into exercising before you're ready. Just eat right, get some rest and listen to your body.

It's been over two weeks since I've been sick. Still have a nagging cough. I am going to try some cardio this week, and I need to do some more circuit training. I did squats last week and couldn't exercise for days after that. lol. And I only did 30! But my thighs! I hollered every time I sat down or stood up for 3 days, but if I keep working at it, I can work back up to 50 a day.

Good morning blue team. I am so excited to report a 3 lbs loss from last week. TOM was this week as well, so I was shocked when I weighed myself this morning.

Roni, good for you for listening to your body and adjusting your workouts accordingly.

Nixmom, glad that you had a nice weekend away. That sucks about the tire though.

Marianne, I love that quote! Thanks for sharing them :)

Karen, :congrat: on your 3.4 lbs loss!

Elise, happy belated birthday!

Echo, good luck on your exam today.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

OK, the week 3 Exercise and Food Log is up and running. I find if I don't log my food I slip up and eat more. It's a tool for me.

Yesterday DH and I picked most of the apples off MIL's tree and I made 8.5 pints of applesauce. I have loads of apples left so I'll be peeling and cooking more in the next few days. So I counted that as a bit of exercise but I also got in my 5k walk last evening. I usually walk in the mornings but we shopped yesterday and didn't have time until after supper.

Well, a new week to lose more weight is here. I try to make every bite count towards good nutrition. I love junk food (potato chips in particular) and could eat it all day along with real food. So I quit buying chips and I'm not the kind of person who would go to the store just to buy junkie food. A bag of potato chips can be as much as 350 empty calories. I can eat lots of fruit or vegetables for 350 calories that will fill me up and keep me healthy. Now, don't get me wrong, I do have a treat day once a week but that's it. I went off track this spring and summer and now I'm re-losing 15 pounds that I thought were gone forever. And the worst thing is that I'm somewhat rundown. My iron levels are low for the first time in my life and I blame it all on the junk food that took the place of good nutritious food that I should have been eating. I was so tired I could hardly drag my body to bed at night. Anyway that's my story today. :D

Don't forget to weigh in today.

Ooh that sounds so good. Do you have an applesauce (or other apple-related) recipe you'd be willing to share? DH and I were supposed to go apple picking last weekend but with the iffy weather, we changed it to this weekend instead. Looking forward to it, we haven't gone in a few years!

I don't have a recipe for the applesauce. I just peel and slice the apples into a big pot, add a little water, sugar or other sweetener to taste and simmer until the apples have gone to mush. You can add cinnamon too.

I've been in a horrible place with my eating lately. I've been fighting the demons in my mind and not doing very well.

Sounds like we are in the exact same place. I think we can get through this, it just might be a slower process than those who don't have all the emotional baggage to deal with. Keep us upated on how you are getting along.

skinny-I think its great that you're getting down to the bottom of your emotional eating. I too am an emotional eater, mostly when I'm stressed or depressed. Where did you get the workbook, I'd be interested in learning more.

I ordered it off Amazon, it is called The Food & Feelings Workbook by Karen R. Koenig, LCSW, M.Ed ... there is a lot more exercises and filing in thoughts than actual reading, but it has really helped so much. Right now i am starting on the section that deals with the 7 most troubling emotions for disordered eaters....it's a scary section for me but I am going into it anyway. I don't have much choice at this point.

I'm in a very difficult place right now because I have blocked out most of my childhood, like I just don't remember anything except brief snippets of disturbing moments, but it feels disconnected to me, like it's someone else and i honestly wonder somethings when I have a flash like that if it really happened to me or not...I just don't remember.

Anyway, I am starting now to feel more connected and remember more things that are so horrible it makes me immeidately want to eat and throw up at once. It's so hard :( I"m wondering if I am really strong enough to make it through this. I am afraid I may not be.

Okay, enough depressing worries from me :D I had a 1 pound loss this week, which I am just glad it's finally moving down again. i have had enough with the up, up motion.

Skinny-IMO...Since your childhood was so traumatic that you've blocked most of it out I really think you should seek out a professional. I think it is wonderful that you are finally traveling that road to recovery. Abuse tends to define us until we face it and help that small child become whole again but from my own experience personally and professionally some things need to be handled by a professional. Either way know we are here for you cause it can get pretty scary at times.

It was my birthday this past week. I'm a whole, huge 27 years old.

Happy Belated Birthday!!! :bday2you:

I am down 3.4 this week :carrot:

Had a good day yesterday. Still waiting for the energy I so desperately need! lol! Got up this morning and did a 20 min Hiit and 10 mins of warm up/cool down. Hopefully when I get home tonite I will have the energy to prepare some of the meals I need for my new program.

Have a great Tuesday!! BL's on tonite:D

Hi Bluesers.

Skinny - I was 25 years old and had a flashback of something that happened to me when I was 9. I had blocked it for years. The flashback triggered a pretty severe case of depression for me. If you're not already seeking professional help, I strongly recommend this. It will only make your journey easier.

Day 1 of sugar detox was tough stuff. But, I slept like a rock. This is really good as I don't usually sleep well.

The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are changing. I love the Fall! Today, I think I'll drag the husband outside for a walk of the neighborhood. We have a lot of steep hills, so it won't be a casual stroll.;)

TBL tonight! :carrot: Have a great on-plan day.
