Here is a fresh clean thread for week two. I'm going to try to get the results of week one done by tomorrow night since I work all day.

Have a good Tuesday! :)

Hey everyone! I'm still buried under boxes over here and recovering but I had a doctor's appointment today and I am healing well. I have started to tolerate some solid foods although my stomach seems to revolt a few times a day still, but I am getting by. I didn't get to a scale so I just used my weight from a few days ago for this week. I am sure I lost more then gained it back since I am eating again.

Good news is I was able to take a 2.5 mile walk today. So although I can't run yet I am ok to walk so that is something. I plan on doing this every day until I can run. Now I just have to transition to solid foods that are healthy choices. I was willing to eat whatever I could the last 2-3 days and it wasn't all good choices but hey I was starving and some foods were soft enough to handle (like mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and a cheeseburger). So now I need to find softer foods that are healthy. I made a healthy dinner tonight but I wasn't able to eat it all since it wasn't the softest meal and I ended up starving at 8pm. Bad! So I am going to be working on smaller soft meals that are better for me for the rest of the week.

I am not caught up on the week #1 thread so you'll have to forgive me. I hope everyone is doing well and kicking butt!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. It's Tuesday evening here in SK. TOM is totally affecting my attitude at work the past two days and it sucks big time. I've been able to stick to my diet plan so far this week even though I have been having some insane urges for a big piece of chocolate cake. Haha. My calories are actually going to finish really low today at 1397. Hope everyone is getting off to a good start for week 2. :)

G'morning Everyone!!! Just checking in real quick.. I had a gain at the first weigh in of over just a pound, so after looking at all the facts I realized that the first month eating1,200-1,550 calories worked and I lost 10pounds, but since I have added in exercise I have gained 1 pound and was seeing more of an upward trend.. lol so I am increasing my calories, as I feel I was maybe not eating enough any longer for the energy my body was expending and my body was holding onto alot of it... so wish me luck! lol I am determined to find that happy medium!
K, time for me to get to work... I hope you all have blessed days! :grouphug:

I had a one pound loss. Heh, I'll take that. Not to mention I am getting faster in my runs, I am happy.

Shan - Just keeping on kicking TOM's butt

Cakses - YAY 2.5!!!

Cape Breton - What a positive attitude. You are awesome!

cakses~ Instead of regular mashed white potatoes, try sweet potatoes. I was not a fan when I first tried them, but they have really grown on me!

shan84~ Sorry about TOM… I hope your day is getting better!

Cape Breton Chick~ Sounds like a great plan upping your calories!

CakeBatter~ PSYCHO RUNNER!!! I need to find someone who runs as much as you to push me to get outside and start running!

Last night was a little rough as I had a million doctors appointments, had to get my car looked at and then try to work with a psycho 4 month old puppy who seriously did not stop bouncing for over an hour when I got home… Needless to say my dinner was not as good as it could have been. I browned some 90% lean beef in a skillet and then added it to some tomato soup and pasta I had cooking in my slow cooker. I need to start being more conscious of labels because I’m willing to bet that campbells tomato soup has more salt in it then just regular tomato sauce, which would have tasted just as good… Any recipes that are super cheap that you can make a large amount of and stretch for at least a week?

When the final weigh-ins are posted, it will be a list, Igetfit. I already took down all final weigh-ins, so if anyone hasn't weighed in this week, you have taken your first freebie. Remember, you MUST have your weigh-in posted by 11:59pm Mondays.
Also, please do not post additional chatter or another weigh-in post in the weigh-in thread. Makes it more difficult for me when I'm trying to compile the weigh-ins each week. Thanks! :)

AARRGGHH! I missed the first weigh in! Life has been VERY crazy lately! Hopefully things will slow down soon.

cakses- It sounds like you are doing well. Slowly you will get yourself into a routine that works for you. Keep up the great work!

shan - I hate the TOM cravings. Hopefully, you will be able to resisist.

CapeBreton - It is good that you are aware of what may have caused the weight gain and are making positive changes to fix it. Be very proud of yourself.

CakeBatter- YAY for the loss! and YAY on the faster runs!

Kim - Sounds like a hectic day!

As for recipe ideas... chili is always good ( I make the traditional style and a white chicken chili). I make a big batch and serve it with a salad. I also make a chicken with carrots, onions, and celery dish that is served over brown rice that is tasty.

I am going to try to pop in here more often. I have been going through a bunch of medical tests b/c of severe vertigo and high ESR levels in my body. It is crazy trying to juggle the testing and three kids. I have been trying to exercise but the vertigo doesn't always make that easy.

Glad to begin week 2. The first week was a little rough for me food-wise. I'm running into the 'how much should I be eating?' problem. I'm gonna try to decrease calories and see if that works.
Looking forward to the show tonight!

Hi everyone! I've been MIA on these boards until now. :) I'd like to join in. Last week, I had a 1 lb loss, but I'll take it!

I'm heading out for a walk in the next 20 minutes or so. It should be about 3 miles. I'm finally getting back into exercise mode, woohoo!

I'm ready for a weekly challenge, I'll google and see if I can offer up some suggestions.

I posted something earlier and for some reason it did not post. I lost a little over a pound but it is more than I expected I have not been eating well the past week. I do not know what it is. I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch and always get my water in during the week but nights and weekends I just make some bad choices. Now I do not binge or anything but I will eat cheezits or chips or something and then feel horrible and regret it so much. I also have been so bloated the past few days and that has to be contributing to my discomfort. On the positive front I did the 30 day shred last night and I will get to walk/jog tonight so I am trying to make up for my lack of exercise for the past few weeks. I will also watch TBL tonight and that will hopefully inspire me to do better. Hope everyone has a Terriffic tuesday!!!!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be my first day with my homeless ladies walking group. We pushed it back because my boss had to go to a luncheon last week. I had a bad day last Thursday one the homeless ladies whom has mentel health issues (she believes she is a queen and a realtive of Jamie Fox), and she threaten me and others and was asked to leave, she came back today and was trying to harress me, but they removed her again. Women are only asked to leave if they threat to kill someone or phyiscal harm. Only 35% of the ladies whom I work with have mental health issues. Most of these ladies have been so wound by people and life that it just breaks them. They take offense at anything that might trigger some past event or emotional injury. So I ask again that my fellow Red Team members send some prayers my way for my walking club that I continue to walk in love and patience with all my ladies, I never want to became hard hearted or jaded.

Sounds like everyone had a great first week & most of us remembered to weigh in.
TOM is heading out the door thank goodness.
The kids had a 4 day weekend & it threw me off kilter, so I'm glad they're back in school today.
I won tickets to see Margaret Atwood read from her new novel next week. I can't wait.
Hope everyone had a good tuesday.

IGetFit - I think what you are doing is wonderful. You need to remember all that these people have gone through in their life...I would probably be bitter too. I am sure that you will continue to do a great job!

Mommyofsix - YAY on the pound loss! I am starting the 30 Day Shred tomorrow and I am so nervous it is going to kick my butt!

Sunni - WOO HOO! 1 lb is great!

Hi all!

Igetfit - I admire you for working with these women. It takes a selfless person to give themselves to this and it's very inspiring! My thoughts are with you and your ladies. Hope you all have a wonderful walk!

I'm so jealous of you chickies with TVs. I haven't watched a single episode of TBL (any season). Although, if I had a TV, I'd probably be mush on the couch within an hour. I get addicted. Hehehe. ;)

Jasonslea - it's been raining like CRAZY here in NC! I think it started around 4 and it just ended 20 minutes ago. At least my basil plant is happy! We're also glad we won't be suffering from a drought this year. :)

CanadaMel - I read Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale a few years ago. It creeped me OUT! I've been too weirded out to try another book of hers. She is a good author though, so lucky you for attending a reading!

I have some ideas for weekly challenges - dunno if these would work. I haven't watched TBL.

Challenge idea #1:

Try holding a simple yoga position for as long as possible. Work up to harder positions.

Sample positions (http://www.yogapoint.com/info/basicmovement.htm#Pr)

Challenge idea #2:

We pose challenges for the rest of the crew and whoever completes the challenge first, gets to set the next challenge. So for instance, if I start, I could say something like "Do 100 jumping jacks by Thurs." Whoever does it first (and posts first) gets to set the next challenge. It has to be something that people of all fitness levels can do, so basically calisthenics.

Suggestions:

a. Jog for 90 seconds (in place or outside)
b. Do X jumping jacks
c. Do X pushups
d. Do X situps
e. Walk 2 miles

Hey everyone. I am so excited, I ordered a GoWear Fit last night! I also bought the digital display to go with it. It hasn't shipped yet but I'm hoping to have it by early next week. I've been wanting to get one for a while and have finally decided it's a good investment. I haven't been doing to good with logging my food. I've still been watching and remembering what I've eaten, I just haven't been logging and keeping track of the calories/points. I'm hoping having the GWF will help me stay on top of this since I'll want to see the comparison of what I've burned to what I've eaten at night when I transfer the data to the computer. I've just been devoting all my time to school lately. Then TOM showed up today and has given me horrible cramps. I figured exercise would help and did 30DS, then they got worse and I slept for 2 hours. Hoping tomorrow will be better.

On a better note, I am going on a trip to Panama City Beach, FL with my Biology class to collect fish (the class is Biology of Fishes). So I am planning on having a good loss for this week. We are going to be doing lots of swimming, walking, and collecting. We are staying in tents in St. Andrews State Park since that gives us easy access to both the bay and the Gulf. Hopefully I'll actually learn enough to help me with my midterm for this class!

Hi Red Team,
I had a great weekend, it was just the day on either side of it that have been terrible. I didn't eat the best last weekend, I had some fruit that I ate, but I did give in and eat some faire foods, not the bad real bad ones but some things I shouldn't have. I also drank a little wine (free samples, yum) and some things from the bottles that went around the fire. Since I don't drink it didn't take much. I only sold one basket, but wasn't putting any effort into it. I did get to see some fun shows and hear some great music. But best of all was seeing some friends I have beenout of contact with for a long time, and meeting some new people. That's going to be my last ren faire for the year, and I'm looking forward to next year, even tho I'll need all new garb. I took my bodice in as far as it will go and still the girls fell out the bottom. I just couldn't get it tight enough.

The part that wasn't good is that my brother has been in the hospital, he has had a heart attack and has had angioplasty twice in the past week. He weighs 300 lbs, smokes, eats crappy food and doesn't get any exercise, yet wonders why his health is so bad, and I'm the bad guyif I mention getting more exercise or eating healthier. Since he isn't married, and my parents are in bad health I've been the one driving them backa nd forth and taking care of everyone. I'm getting so burned out, and so very glad I got away last weekend.

The great thing is only 4 days till My Son gets home!!!!!!!!!
I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for letting me vent.
Bette K

Hi everyone!

I did another 2.5 loop walk this AM after taking the kids to school. I seriously cannot wait to be able to run it. I'm actually so out of shape I might not make it the whole loop when I start but I plan on being able to do it within 4 weeks of starting!

My throat is I'd say 75% recovered. Meaning I can eat a lot more than I previously could, but it's still sore and I am still more tired and drained than I am used to due to healing. It seems I only have to take my pain medication once in the AM and that's probably because I spent the night sleeping with my mouth open LOL. So I am looking forward to not having to be on that for much longer.

My Mom leaves tomorrow afternoon, and she's been such a great help it will be sad to see her go. She and I butt heads a lot, especially in that first week but we found a way to make it work and it's been good. I'm ready for my DH to come home too, but that is a little less than 2 weeks away. He's been gone for a month for Army training in the desert with very little communication. In that time I had my surgery, commuted the kids the hour + drive each way to school until we moved, packed and moved to our brand new house and am now unpacking, setting up the new accounts for the house and preparing for my oldest son to start receiving services for his newly diagnosed autism. Oh, and someone very special to me died in that time as well. I think given all I went through, I kicked September's butt! I can't wait to make October more about me, my weight loss and my exercising!

Hope you all had a great day - keep it up. Each day is important, don't let yourself give up thinking you'll make it up tomorrow.

Nicki - Good job!! :carrot:

Cakses - Wow! With everything you've gone through, you are a really strong woman to not let your weight loss slide. That's amazing and it's an inspiration to us all on here! Glad you're on our team! :D

Rangerchic - no prob! :)

Bette - I can imagine how you feel. When my mom would gently imply that I was gaining weight and I should start exercising and eating healthy, I would get incredibly defensive, maybe because I didn't see the gain as well as she did. Eventually, I came around and saw for myself that I was tired of being overweight. Hopefully, your brother will see the light too. If not, - that must be hard!

As for me, I'm tired from yesterday's 4.75 mile walk so I'm going to take a break with the exercise today. Have a good day all!

Good Wednesday Morning Red Team. Not much new with me. Flying to my daughter's on Saturday and won't be home until late Tuesday evening so will probably take my first freebie. Trying to get things done at both home and work so I won't have so much to do when I get back. We'll see how well that works for me!

Hope those that are struggling or not feeling up to par gets back on their feet soon. Hugs to you all.

Good afternoon everyone! I am still trying to summon the energy to start an official workout. I don't think chasing my boys and carrying my one year old count. I have finally decided to keep a food journal (I heard Jillian mention it last night). Hopefully that will help keep me accountable for all of the crap I shove in my mouth and I can't keep telling myself, "I didn't eat that much" when I probably did.

Laurie- Have a fun time visiting your daughter.

cakses- It sounds like you are going through a lot right now. Be sure to take care of yourself mentally (as well as physically) As for exercise, just make sure you speed clean. That will be sure to get your heart rate up.

Sunni - Wow, almost 5 miles, that is GREAT!

Nicki- YAY! That is fantastic!

bradley'smom - Have fun with your bootcamp!

Bette - Sorry things are so rough for you with your brother and parents. It has to be so difficult being the caretaker for all of them. YAY on your son coming home soon! That will be a great ending to the week for you!

mtiger - Sorry you are hitting a plateau. Sometimes it helps to increase your calories a bit (I know it sounds strange but it does work). Keep up the fantastic work.

Rangerchic - THANK YOU so much for everything that you have been doing for the RED team.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

My first day with our Wonderful World of Walk Group went really well, but it was too hot to walk on the roof. So I held an impromptu aerobic class in the day and the ladies and I had so much fun, I pull all of my old aerobic class moves. We laughed and sweated and ladies said they couldn't wait until next week. I am just starting out with once a week and we will build up to 3 times a week. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and thoughts, I ask that you keep that young woman I mentioned yesterday in your prayers they are trying to get her to commit to getting into a mental health program. She needs care and people to keep her safe.

Did everyone see the Biggest Loser Last night? Jillian gave a trainer tip where she said that studies show keeping a daily food journal will help you lose 50% more weight. I know it's helping me post my food here.

Thanks everyone! GO REDDIES!

I picked my scale up today at my old house. Of course I stood on it and weighed, totally wrong time of the day and I was up 2.5 pounds. UGH! I am hoping I can get rid of that, or that it was near-the-end-of-the-day bloat or something. Most likely it was the Mexican I had for dinner. Time to get back into an eating routine or all the exercise in the world won't help me lose!

On a positive note, I mapped out the walk I take to school to drop off my kids. I timed it then used www.mapmyrun.com to double check and sure enough it's 1/4 of a mile each way. I have a son in Kindergarten who is on half days so I walk this route three times a day to get my kids, so that is an extra 1.5 miles of walking each day! That tickled me. I will never drive to get them, rain or shine (hold me to that when it starts pouring rain! lol)

I think I am going to do the food journal. I have gotten obsessive in the past, agonizing over every calorie in, but I think I am really needing it right now with my "oh I was sick, so I can eat whatever" attitude. I'm digging out a notebook in the AM.

Well I am headed to bed, just wanted to pop in and say goodnight!

Morning everyone! I just had to come and share my happy dance this morning as far as the scale goes... I upp'd my calories after weigh in as I had a gain, and with all the facts the only thing that made sense was I was possibly eating too little for the exercise I had incorporated.. well guess what.. I went from 1,200 -1,550 cal a day to 1,600-1,900 since Monday and low and behold I am down 2 pounds this morning!! woo hooo!!! :dancer: I hope everyone has a great day :grouphug: May God Bless

Does anyone know if we won the weigh ?

I don't want to steal any thunder from our leaders, but being the Excel geek that I am, I keep a spread sheet of all the weighins, and unless I've really messed something up, it looks like RED TEAM is the winner!

Ms Perception
09-24-2009, 11:20 AM
I hope we did win the weigh-in, but I'm trying to buckle down so we make week 2 a good one also! I may lose as much week 2 as I did week 1 since I struggled in with TOM and stuff a week ago!
Hope all you ladies are doing well.

Angela-How do you decide what calorie range to use? I assume with a range that you calorie cycle. Has that worked well for you? I'm getting down to the point where I feel a little more restricted with food and I just want to know how to handle it best. The scale is moving again, but I stalled out earlier in the month and it was frustrating!

Way to go guys!!!! :cp:

MsPerception, I have found that this works so well for me.. I had a lower range earlier but then after I added exercise I stalled out and it was driving me crazy after losing 10pnds steadily for a month... but when I started to look at the facts I realized that with the exercise I was doing, I was still probably not getting enough calories and my body didn't respond as it wasn't getting enough food for the energy I was expending... here is a great way to figure out your calories needs http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm#
I hope it works for you..

Angela-Thanks. I checked out that website and got some good info. I may try calorie counting/cycling for a month and see what happens. I honestly have never done that, but it's worth a try if I stall out again!

Congrats, Team on the Week 1 win, and in large part to our double digit losers for their amazing losses!! WOW! Let's make Week 2 another Red victory!

Greetings Friends!

Sorry I haven't been able to post as much as I'd like...but I do try to keep up with the thread reading. Things are going well for me. I am loving this season of TBL and just started a weight loss competition with my sister so I am highly motivated! As far as the rest of my life goes...meh...things are up and down and I seem to be highly emotionally sensitive lately. Not sure exactly what's going on but hopefully it will blow over soon. The good thing is that living healthier and feeling better about myself puts me in a much better frame of mind to deal with things. Well, I'm off to work now but I hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Thursday everyone.

Scale said 194.6 this morning. I'll take it. I'm not sure how much I will lose this week now that I am back on solid foods, but as long as I keep my calories in check and get my exercise in I should do alright. Got my walk in this morning and mapped it out so I can log in all mileage.

My Mom left yesterday so I am now on my own for another week and a bit until DH gets back. I plan on unpacking 100% of the stuff and finding a place for it all. So I am off to do that! Have a great day!

Happy Friday! :D

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have the hardest time staying on plan during the weekend. Last week I had all my brothers and sisters over, so I didn't really have a chance to snack, and that was great, but this weekend it will be just Dad and I, plus we may be going to Grandmas (and we all know what grandmas are like ;) ). I'm already behind in my exercising this week by 619 calories burned. I guess I'll have to do an extra exercise session Saturday or Sunday.........what's your plan to stay OP?

shan84
09-25-2009, 10:21 AM
I was supposed to work this weekend but our school didn't have enough students sign up for weekend program. So instead of needing 3 teachers they only need 3. Hence, I was cut. So I plan on using Saturday for my last chance workout. I have done really well staying on plan this week and I have really pushed myself on my exercise. I hope on Sunday I have a good number to share whether it be pounds or inches again. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

MonteCristo-I've planned my meals and workouts for the weekend and just refuse to stray. The weekends are SO hard for me too sometimes. It just seems like it should be relaxed...eating and all, but that's not gonna get us anywhere, so I'm resolved to have on OP weekend and rejoice in the results!

I'm trying to stay on plan but I find I need to set a day every two weeks where I can eat something like cookies or I will going diet postal and just gorge. Weekends I think are always hard but really hard during football season with tail gate stuff going on. I am making healthy chili today for Sunday, to help myself stay away from the triple dip and other junk.

Thanks so much everyone! I can't believe I was the biggest loser out of everyone. Well, at least that pleasant memory will get me through this week as I am currently having a horrible 2 week TOM and the scale is still going UP despite my stepping up cardio and staying within my calores. I can handle the scale going up one week, but this extra week is driving me crazy. I am about ready to break the scale, lol. So needless to say I will not be helping our team much at this weigh in....sorry. I think I will be the same or maybe 1 pound less. Hopefully though, TOM has to end sometime soon, and I will be able to have good numbers next week for our team!
Makes me sad thinking of the real Biggest Loser girls and how some of them probably got below the yellow line because of TOM and sent home. Men are so lucky sometimes, lol.

I had a tonsillectomy on 09-11-09 so I couldn't eat any foods for a while due to severe pain and swelling. Then it was mushy foods. Now I am pretty much back on all foods thank goodness. Happy Friday everyone!

I am glad to report this is my last weekend alone as DH will behome before next weekend starts. WOOHOO! I can make it though another couple of days without going too crazy, I hope!

Today my eating was way off. It's the week before TOM and this is always a challenge for me. I find myself starving and wanting salt and sweet constantly. I hate it. I'm trying to remember how I combatted this last year when I was losing so much weight. I think the more I run the less I want those things because I know how much more I have to run to work it off. LOL - I am hoping Monday my throat is 100% and I can run after dropping the kids off at school. I crave protein when I am really active, so I'm hoping this was just the missing link.

This weekend I have to go to the old house and clean it out so I can hand the keys over on Wednesday. I am looking forward to being done with it all over there and just having this place to worry about.

I hope you all have a great weekend and stay on plan as much as you can. Weekends are hard for me too because I am not on the go as much and have more downtime to potentially snack or be lazy. I like being as busy as I am on the weekdays. Anyways, have a great one!

I haven't been posting here nearly as often as I usually do. Just wanted to drop in and say I was back to 179.6 today, for the third time now. I just can't seem to stay in the 170's, they are being very stubborn. Sept. has not been a good month. I don't think I have lost much of anything.

I will keep plugging away ladies. My progress is very slow lately though. Please bear with me. I may not be much help at the weigh-ins.

Hey all! So this last week was a bit of a vacation for me. We took off for several days for our anniversary :) And without tracking and without working out I managed to maintain very well. I am only up .5 lb which is really nothing.

As of monday I'm trying something new. I read the E-book "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" and I'm making some major changes. In the spirit of "fail to plan, plan to fail" I have planned out 5 meals a day mon-sun. I will eat at 9:00, 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00. Meals are much more balanced, I had to add protein to some favorite recipies but it will be much better. I was barely eating any protien before. Also sticking to primarily clean foods and eating 1950-2100 calories every day. Should be fun and interesting.

Also I ran my first 5k today. Only had to walk about 4 min and finished in 35:10 :)

Glad to be back :)

Ms Perception

mtiger-No worries, hon. You just give us your best and we'll take it and be proud to have you on our team! It can be a challenge to find the perfect balance of food/exercise, etc. So, don't stress. Just keep trying things 'til you find the magic combo!

Shan-Great loss, both in pounds and inches! Wow! What are you doing to get those results? Whatever it is, keep it up! LOL

Candice-Impressive to have very little effect from a few days away. Let us know how you're new plan works out! Oh, and congrats on your 5K!!

cakses-You probably mentioned your surgery earlier and I missed it. Glad you're on the mend and back to more "normal" foods again. And SO great you'll have DH home!! Where was he? (I guess I haven't been paying ANY attention! Sorry!!)

JayTee-Love the spirit!! It was Homecoming at the local high school and we were cheering like mad earlier today too! LOL

I'm doing well so far this weekend, so I'm happy with that since we all know how weekend are. I agree football season makes things more challenging here too. It's just a snacky time, but so far we've avoided the parties which makes it less of an issue.

Shan---that is awesome! :carrot: W2G!

Well, afraid my weight loss won't be as much to help out the team this week--only 2 1/2 pounds. I am having TOM for the second week in a row nd the scale has been going up despite my best efforts. Finally started going down yesterday which was nice so at least I could show a loss for this week instead of a gain! Am hoping whenever this d*mn TOM does decide to end, that I will get a big whoosh of water weight loss to show for next week's weigh in! (Or for the weigh in 2 years down the road if it doesn't decide to leave until then.....)

My DH is in the Army - this particular month he's been out of state in training. He is unfortunately due to go to Iraq for the 3rd time early next year, so a month stateside is really nothing. I've just had a pretty busy month and missed him a lot!

Only a 1/2 pound loss for me this week. It seems since I got below 200 it has really been a stuggle for me to loose more than a pound a week. I also have not been making good food choices I am staying below my calories but not eating enough veggies. I packed a nice salad and some chicken for lunch so that should help me get started off right this week. I have been calorie counting for the past month and I like it but I have to find more structure. Before I was eating certain meal combos which were specific calorie combos and that worked better. I was starting to feel deprive and needed a change so I started calorie counting and it I wanted something (oreos) I would just make arrangements to fit them in. That obviouly does not work for me.

Also I have been weighing at a wellness center for the past few months and I got a new scale so I could weigh at home. so I am not sure if there is a difference or not. When I got the scale last week It was the same as I had weighed on the medical scale so it should be accurate, however this morning I did weigh without clothes something I have never done so that might have been the 1/2 pound too. Anyway I will take it.

Hi Ladies,

I have been extremely quite. For some reason this month just seems so crazy. I posted my weight lost for the week and it was only 1 pound (I blame it on TOM) so hopefully next week will be better.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Congrats to the RED team for being Week 1 winner.

The scale is a fickle little beast for sure. I'm down 3 lbs this week. Which is awesome, last week it was only down 1/2 lb and the week before was a lb and a 1/2 gain. So I'm averaging about a lb per week since I started food logging, which is all I've wanted and hoped for. It's just frustrating to plug a 3 lb loss into the WW site and be chastised for it. :)

I am staying home with a sick kid today. She's run fever off and on all weekend. I'm waiting for her to wake up so I can check her today.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!

I did weigh without clothes something I have never done so that might have been the 1/2 pound too. Anyway I will take it.

I think you have to be wearing some pretty heavy clothes to make a difference. I've tried weighing with clothes on, and then immediately after with clothes off. My scale doesn't budge with the change

It's just frustrating to plug a 3 lb loss into the WW site and be chastised for it.

I know, right? haha. I just ignore it. It can get over itself with it's RULES

Happy Monday Team!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to weigh in today! Don't forget!

I only had a 1 pound loss this week but after some questionable days of eating, I'll take it. I'm more focused this week and plan on doing much better for week 3!

I have a big meeting at my house today with my son's psychologist and tutor to go over the plan that has been written for him. I believe the tutor will start coming this week as well, which is great because my son seems to be in a funk and I could use the help!

Well I am off to make lunch for DS and wake them up for breakfast. Have a great day everyone!

I posted a 2.6 loss for this week. Funny, it was better than my week 1 loss, so that's good. I try to stick around that 2 pound loss mark, if I can. That's supposed to be the healthy amount, but you know how it is. One week it's nothing, the next week it's 3-4 pounds. I'll take whatever I get as long as it's a loss!! ;)

tina-I hear about the WW website. I got the little message a couple weeks ago and that was just a little over 2 pounds...geez, people! It's not like we dropped 10 pounds or something. Let us enjoy the victory! :D

Hope you are all ready for week 3 and making those good choices. I've been struggling in Septmeber with feeling a more hungry. I think my body wants to store up fat and hibernate! LOL I'm just hoping if I keep eating right, it'll pass. I eat filling, healthy foods, so it's not like I'm starving myself. Just sharing...

Hi Red team,
It's been a good weekend, DS got home yesterday. My eating hasn't been the best, but I'm going to get back on program with that. I need to add more fruits and veges back in and cut the sweets. I admit to being a cookie monster. I have gotten back into using the elliptical daily for at least 30 minutes, so that is helping.

It's good to see that everyone is have good losses, and for those that don't think it's going so great, just remember the health benefits of eating better, even if you don't lose lots of weight a little loss or even not gaining is good for you.

It's going to be a busy week with DS home and my Dad having an appointment with his surgeon so I probibly won't post much.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi team-
sorry I haven't been active on the boards. Have had a hard time getting on the computer. Have been tracking food & getting my steps in- but only saw 0.4 loss this week.

I need to up the exercise & am contemplating getting an elliptical to enhance my exercise/weightloss. Anyone have recommendations on one they like?

Way to go everyone with the losses & for those who are struggling (like me) :hugs: and hang in there.

I've felt very bloated/full for the past 2 days- not sure what's causing it-but hope it passes soon as I don't feel that I've overeaten- but my body is paying me back for something.

Lots of congratulations to give out this week that is AWESOME!!! Hopefully that means we will see another WIN!!! And I’m trying to lead up to the fact that I unfortunately saw a crappy gain of 3 lbs. this week. Sorry :( It was a super rough weekend and I unfortunately turned to food as my outlet. I also discovered at the end of last week that my scale had been lying to me and I am actually exactly 10 pounds heavier than it has been saying :( I took the scale with me to WW to check it out. Oh yeah… I restarted weight watchers as I need a little bit more help being accountable. I’m hoping that between that and 3FC, I can finally start seeing some real success! Happy Monday everyone!

As I said before, my lack of food in the house is affecting me a little. Not weight wise, but craving wise yes. I have laid in bed the last two nights fighting hunger pains when I know darn well I am not really hungry and that it is all mental. I won those two nights because I didn't get up to eat anything. I am desperately ready to get paid tomorrow because as soon as I am done with work I am on my way to the grocery store so I can get the food my body is craving (specifically yogurt, cucumbers, pineapple slices please!!!). Hope everyone is having a good start to week 3. I didn't exercise on Sunday or Monday, but I plan on doing the WATP 2 mile when I get home today.

GO RED TEAM!!!

Sorry for not being around...we lost our internet connection Friday here. Going to try to play catch-up with email and what have you now.

Please be sure to weigh-in before midnight tonight! :)
