Default just a quick question

I'm new to weight loss. I really hope this is in the right forum, and maybe this type of question isn't allowed. I have just been totally overwhelmed with all this information that i've been reading.

I exercise 3 times a day, 25 minutes brisk walk on the treadmill, 60 sit ups, 4 x 10 reps of 20lbs dumbbells

I weigh 185lbs and have a BMR of 1671.25.... I've been eating 1200 calories and i would like to know if that is enough. I lost 3 pounds my first week, but i'd just like to know if that is too little.

Very sorry if this is in the wrong forum or if you don't like this type of question. I did read the stickies but I still felt lost.

I don't think anyone can give you a correct amount of calories you should consume each day to lose weight. I will say this, if you are feeling satisfied and are losing weight then 1200 may be right for you now but if you are left feeling hungry a lot then try bumping it up to 1500-1600, go at it a couple weeks then tweak as necessary.

And also, don't worry if your question will be liked or not, the forum is here for support

No worries!

Personally, I think it is too low, based on your activity level--but I'm not an expert.

Welcome!!

I have been studying a lot of sources that say that eating below your BMR will affect your metabolism. You may see a temporary weight loss but it is not the most healthy way to do it. Why would you want to eat that low anyway. It doesn't make any sense. You body needs at last 1600 just to survive if you were in a coma. So you know by eating 1600 you would be at a deficit just by moving around at all.
