WW Clubs and Groups - How many points is too many at one time?

Hi girls, I have a quickie....
During each meal of the day, how many points is too many?
Tonight at dinner I had a total of 12, but I can balance out the next day, but is that bad? That was earlier in the evening (about 8) and it's almost midnight and I"m going to bed. So it's not like I ate all this and went to sleep (but I am doing that a lot when I nap.. but not coming Monday with my job!)
1) How many points should you eat in a sitting.. max?
2) Is it bad to eat right before you go to bed? Or at least what have you found to be most effective.
3) What time of day do you like to work out?
Thanks girls!
tonight I went to "Abs and Back" at the gym. I'm not feelin it yet, but I"m sure I will tomorrow morning!
Goodnight.. and thanks for the advice :)
Lucy. When I come back on.. the test will be OVER

Lucy--Wow, you have some tough questions here... I'm going to give you what I think are the answers, but some of the ladies who've been on WW longer may have better answers for you.
1) Maximum points eaten in a sitting... Well, obviously you don't want to eat your entire daily points allowance in one sitting, but I really don't think there's a set limit.
2) Eating before bed... I don't like to eat right before bed because it upsets my stomach and I don't sleep well. Many people will tell you that it's bad to eat right before bed, but I don't think that WW subscribes to that theory, if I recall correctly, they tell you to eat whenever you want, as long as you stay in your points range.
3) Time of day to workout... I would LOVE to be one of those people who work out first thing inthe morning. Unfortunately, just dragging my *** out of bed in the morning is almost more workout than I can handle... When I first started at my gym, I would straight there after work. After starting WW, I would go home and eat, wait an hour and then go. After a few months of that, I started not going, so I'm back to going right after work. I'm usually super-hungry so I eat a 2 Points Bar about an hour before. So, I work out in the evenings...
Hope this is helpful!

Great questions Lucy. Here's my .02 for what it's worth.
1) I don't worry about how many points I eat per sitting. I just work on eating within my points range for the day and eating enough points at each sitting that I feel satisfied. I don't think there is a too many points per meal...unless you eat all your points for the day and can have nothing other than free veggies!
2) My leader is always telling us that it isn't when you consume the calories but how many. I must confess that I tend to eat dinner only an hr or 2 before bed. I've not noticed that it has negatively impacted my weight loss.
3) MORNING! :dizzy: I tend to get up between 4:30 and 5 so that I can get in a good work-out before my day begins. Two reasons for this 1) I'm a morning person and 2) if I put off the work-out til later there is a greater chance that I'll skip it for some reason (work, friends, etc). Personally, I believe the best time to work-out is whatever time of day you can be assured that you will committ to.
Hope this helps.

Here's my input:
There is no maximum number of points you could eat at one meal. The key to success in WW is planning, and therefore you can plan for anything (ex: 4 pt breakfast, 4 point lunch, 14 point dinner, etc.). You can also bank points for occasions like that (or bank for emergencies, as many of us do). You can also up your activity, and gain some points that way. The one thing that leaders in the past have told me is important not to do is borrow against the next day's points. It's important to start each day off fresh, mentally, and you will be more successful this way, so they say.
The laws of physics tell us that if our calories eaten are greater than our calories used, we will gain weight. And if our calories burned are greater than our calories eaten, we will lose weight. It doesn't have any time of day requirements on it. Having said that, though, I have found that when I eat late at night, I tend to retain more water and just be bloated and icky-feeling. Retaining water could adversely affect a WI. So long-term it probably wouldn't matter what time of day you ate, but for your mental health (and for your WI's) you may want to avoid this.
It depends on my workout, the time of day I do it. Again, it's just another function of planning. I do my weight training in the a.m. when Aaron is napping. If I swim, I have to do it between 10:00 and 12:00 when there is babysitting at the gym. If I play racketball with hubby, we do it at 7:00 when we can both go and there is gym babysitters. And if I walk with my friend, we never leave before nine at night, because we have to put our kids to bed first. The point is, when you're most likely to do it, when it's easiest for you, is always the best time to plan a workout.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies girls! It's exactly waht I needed.
I hope everyone has a great and successful weeekend. I'm off to Tampa with my roomate to help her pick up her car. I survived last time I went there, hopefully I can again!
See you on Monday. Thanks again
