Diabetes Support - Meowee

I am very sorry to announce that our Meowee passed away this afternoon.

Most of you know that she has had declining health problems over the past few months. She was diagnosed last month with lung cancer. Last week they found that it had spread to her brain, and she declined quickly and lost the battle this afternoon. I know she will be missed by many here.

Please feel free to leave any condolences on this thread, and I will send a link to the family so they can read how much she meant to those of us so far away.

Linda was a delight! I'm so sorry that I never met her in real life. She will be missed.

Linda made the most beautiful quilt of 3 Chicks, and gave it to me and Suzanne last year. She was supposed to fly this way again in a few days - she'll definitely be missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to her children and grandchildren at this time. I know this must be a terrible shock to everybody.

You never can realize quite how much someone means to you until you don't have the opportunity to tell them anymore. Linda, you'll be missed so terribly. I am so sorry that I was never able to meet you, but grateful for the time I had to spend with you as my co-mod.

I am grateful for having had the chance to meet Linda last year. She flew all the way from Nova Scotia to North Carolina to visit. As Jennifer mentioned, she made a beautiful quilt for us which I have in my home.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family now, I'm very sorry for your loss. Linda will be missed by so many people around the world.

I was able to get to know Linda when we co-modded here. She was warm, caring and fun. When I made some pottery for her, and it got horribly broken in shipping, she made me feel so much better in how nicely she handled the situation. I loved reading her posts about her cats, and her adventures. She will be missed.

Linda was a fellow stats geek and we bonded over that. I enjoyed talking with her and wish I had gotten to know her better. She will be missed greatly and my condolences to her friends and family.

MEOWEE (Linda) ~ will indeed be missed here by everyone -- we already missed her great sense of humor and insight and bright AM cheery-ohs and group hugs on our thread. ^Prayers^ ascending for her family for peace at this time ... :hug:

Meowee (Linda) was such a warm, kind, compassionate, supportive and smart woman. She will be greatly missed. She was such a tremendous support for me when I was diagnosed with early diabetes and was confused, scared and unsure of how to reclaim my health. I will always be grateful for support and wisdom, which helped me get my blood sugar back to normal levels.

Her spirit will live on in the memories of her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.

Saw the news as soon as I logged on this morning and was stunned and so sad. :( Meowee Linda was such a source of insight and knowlege for so many of us on 3FC, and a pleasure to Co-Mod with. Her wicked sense of humor kept us in stitches, and I know she was a special source of wisdom and inspiration to others with diabetes.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends, and to her kitties, too, who must miss her very much. :(

I feel terrible. I called her last month bc she had been missing from our 50+ board. How sad for all of us and especially for her family. Linda was a WONDERFUL person. We will all miss her very much.

I loved having Linda as a Volumetrics moderator. She was always so supportive and positive, and we enjoyed hearing about her cat escapades. Thank you, meowee!

My deepest sympathy to the family of our dear Linda. When I first joined 3FC she was one of the first to greet and make me feel welcome. We would often compare the weather and she'd be quick to tell me that whatever weather was in Cape Breton would soon hit Newfoundland. Always busy with some project or other she struck me as a very vibrant and loving person. I will continue to miss her presence on 3FC.

Oh my gosh, this breaks my heart. I had no idea Linda was even sick; obviously I don't come around here much anymore. But I always loved her posts and remember her from way back.

I am so sorry to hear of this. I had the pleasure of reading and benefiting from some of her wonderful posts over the last few years. I am sad to think that there will not be any more. She obviously touched so many lives here, and her family was very lucky to be able to call such a special lady their own.

Sorry but I just have to close this thread. It's been over two weeks since Linda died and it makes me sadder every time I read this. Linda visited me over a year ago and I went to visit her in the Spring. I had no idea things were so serious although I did keep in touch with her by phone.
