Hi everyone. My name is Dan. I hope that it is alright if I join you here on this site? I have been lurking for a while and finally decided to join.
I am a 36 year-old married father of two who has battled his weight most of his life. While my weight does not prevent me from leading an active, enjoyable life, I am not happy with the way I look and feel and am ready to do something about it.
I started a diet on Monday, September 14, 2009 so I am just starting day six. I’m off to a pretty good start so far. I have been very good all week and have to the gym every day for some cardio work. Overall, I am feeling pretty good.
I’m looking to meet people here with similar weight lose goals (either actively working towards or having achieved them). I’m looking for some support and guidance as I embark on my weight loss journey. I am a very friend, open person, so please feel free to drop on by to say hi or ask me anything you want.
Current stats:
Height – 5 foot, ten inches
Current Weight – 251 lbs
Ideal Weight – 165 lbs – 175 lbs
Waist – 44 / 46
Welcome Dan, this board is a fountain of information and wonderful people. And might I say you're a very brave man to come into a high estrogren zone, it would be nice if there were more men who felt as comfortable. It's always nice to have a different gender perspective and look forward to seeing you about the boards.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I really appreciate it. There is definitely a wealth of information on this site and I definitely plan to tap into it.
I look forward to meeting you. I sure could use all of the guidance and support that I can get
Have you found some men here? We have quite a few.
Tell us about your plan and we'll point you toward some threads where you'll feel right at home.
I'm glad to hear that there are other men here (lol). As for my plan, I started doingthe WW points plan last Monday. My plan is to exercise 4x -5x a week (mostly cardio). I have no unrealistic timetable for my weight loss (It takes as long as it takes). I'm looking at this as a lifestyle change rather than a diet.
