...and everyone else that's sure to post soon. I will have to come back later, when the kiddo is asleep and answer each post from yesterday (and wow, that's going to be a project!) but here's a quick good morning. For those of you interested in steamed veggies, Pampered Chef is offering microwave veggie steamers. My sister got me one for Christmas (a bit belated...) and it arrived the other day, and I've made lots in it...every frozen veggie they've got and even those frozen little corn on the cobbie things. It's really easy to clean up too because it's just plastic, so everything rinses right off. More later....:p

Morning Kirsty - the dessert sounds awesome. I had dessert last night too.... I've got to get back on track.
Kier - check your private messages! I too love your posts.... they are so witty!
Jayne - thanks for sharing your story. Sounds like you've done an amazing job with your weight in spite of all the circumstances. You're my hero!
So - went to a cook out at a co-workers last night... wasn't too bad. I had grilled chicken and a veggie shishkabob plus green beans. I didn't even touch the macaroni salad or the potato salad although I did have a poundcake with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. I need to get into FULL GEAR NOW. I'm going out with friends tonight and my goal is DIET COKE DIET COKE DIET COKE.

Not much to talk about this morning, but I wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone... Tonight's the big WI night, crossing fingers. Hopefully all will go well, even though I had that "Day O' Chocolate" on Sunday. :p
Kirsty--Yummy, raspberry cheesecake brulee... It makes the Fruit Loops I'm eating right now pale in comparison...
Kier--Sounds like your dinner tomorrow night is my dream night (if I didn't have BF). Definitely the right type of guys!
Jayne--Thanks for that tidbit about the vegetable steamer from Pampered Chef. A friend of mine sells Pampered Chef, I'll have to look into getting one of those! I still haven't tried steaming any vegetables (it's been stir-fry lately because I've been in such a hurry lately), but hope to get around to it.
Lisa--Hello! You're probably posting right now. :D
OK, I'm gonna finish up a lesson plan and check back in.

Morning Ladies -
Thanks so much for all your support yesterday re: the non-job. It really helped. I've much better perspective today - amazing what a manicure (in a vicious shade of fuschia), a night's sleep and a good work-out can to do for frame of mind.
Kirsty - hope getting home isn't too difficult. I can't imagine dealing with a mass transit strike. I'm so American - absolutely addicted to my car.
Kier - have fun at your dinner. May their be plenty of hotties to flirt with. And as they others mentioned, your posts always make me smile.
Jayne - You eat those minature corn on the cobs!?! I don't know whether to be impressed or reviled - those things FRIGHTEN me!
Lisa - who could resist strawberries with vanilla ice cream? I know I couldn't. Have fun out with your friends tonight - and may you too have plenty of fine figures of the male persuasion to flirt with.
Jess - good luck with WI tonight. I'm really hoping that you connect with your new leader.
Hi to everyone else. Sorry I don't have time to reply to all of yesterdays posts but must do something to earn this paycheck they're paying me.

Hello all:)
Kirsty -- do tube strikes happen often? I can't imagine, that's got to be just horrid over there. One day while we were staying at the Earl's Court station, they closed it for repairs and it totally made chaos. Having to take the bus was too much complications for me! But riding on top was still exciting :dizzy:
Jayne-- veggie steamers are the best. Christmas in July? WEll, gifts are appreciated any time of year. This creation sounds much better than my little metal steamer that tends to always have pieces of broccoli stuck in it!
Lisa -- well look at it this way, it would've been much worse if you had the macaroni salad, potato salad and the pound cake! good job for resisting that! YOu can get back on track, you obviously know what you're doing!
Jess -- good luck with WI! The day of chocolate was a few days ago, at least it wasn't this morning! (that's the trouble I ran into... d'oh!):^:
Well, for the past 20 hours I've literally ate, drank, and slept my statistics class. IT's killing me, but the test comes tomorrow and then its' done for the weekend! I feel pretty strong on it, but it's so many rules, equations, and just stuff that shouldn't even be invented.
After class my eyes literally go
I just looked up the aerobics schedule at the school gym, and there are so many options. I went to Yoga on Tuesday night, and although it was a good workout, I couldn't help but feel slightly like a fool. I just wasn't strong enough to hold myself up in some positions, or keep myself in the push-up position without my entire body shaking. But, I'd have to say I never saw my body stretched in some of those positions before! I actually saw the bottom of my foot in a way I never have!
Well, I must get back home.. roommate needs the parking pass. What's in line today? study sessions, review questions, and branding this in my head just a tad more. AFter this, I"m off to Tampa for the weekend. Woohoo:cool:
OKay, I can't remember who asked.. but yes, I"m in Tallahassee.
WEll girls, have a great day, and I'll be posting later!

Hi guys-I am here-thanks for all of the support yesterday-those 4 pounds were still there this morning though...however, TOM is due any day and I could barely get my rings on, so some of it has to be fluid....don't have a lot of time to write today..but hi to all! To those of you in London-is the tube strike all over the UK or just in London? I heard about it on NPR today-what a drag...
Jess-Good luck at WI...hi to everyone else!

Well, I missed last week, and today is WI day. I stepped on the homescale today, it said 2 down, but mornings are always lighter. Plus, I am on this HORRIBLE TOM and even my clothes feel a bit tighter! I am really debating...to go or not to go, that is the question....
Kirsty...mmmmm....cheescake.......I heard the carrot cake calling last night and resisted. However, it was so hot I did eat about 4 Freezees, but they are only 1pt for 2.
Kier - Myoplex is a protein powder drink for bodybuilding. The body for life program recommends you drink about 3/day or something like that for men.
Hi Jayne!!
Lisa - I am proud of you - the potatoe salad gets me every time. I love it. I'll eat it first at a BBQ, before even the meat!!
Hi Jess....!
Well, I should get my butt to work. My boss is gone today and my tummy is still upset, so I was thinking of staying home :s: but the truth is, I'd rather feel crummy at work and frequent the bathroom in the air conditioning than go home to the apt and die in the 33C heat (more inthe apt I think!)
And tonite I am going for a haircut. I always feel good after one. I haven't cut my hair in 3 months, so its getting long and its all one length at the back. I want to keept the length, add a few long layers. I usually cut it shoulder length, so we'll see....
I'll let you know if I WI today ($26 - GASP)

Laura - WEll, at least you have a job right now, I thought you were unemployed - that's good!! Keep looking, it'll happen soon.
Lori - I am in your boat today girl! My rings are tight too....damn bloating from TOM!!!

I don't have much time, but I wanted to say that I will be posting the details of the running challenge either later today or tomorrow. It is going to start Sunday and go for 8 weeks. I will have details for both beginners (can't run for more than a few minutes at a time) and people interested in training for a 5K. It will involve running 3 times a week, so hopefully everyone that wants to join will be able to stick with it. I figure I will post an update every week to let everyone know where they should be.
Speaking of running, I used my treadmill last night because it is so humid here that I couldnt' bear running outside. Well, I ended up running for 70 minutes, which is more than I have ever done! It just felt so good, so I kept going! Of course I am a bit tired today...
Belle - I saw Mr. Deeds last week! It was a bit cheesy, but I also love Adam Sandler! I actually met him at a bar when I was in college and had a beer with him!! I even have a picture with him!(hmmm... we both love Larry Mullen and Adam Sandler?!) :D

Today just has a friday flavor to it in my office. Tomorrow is going to be a huge diappointment.
Lucy - I loved stats - good luck on your test - actually, with all your studying, you won't need my good luck! Your first yoga practice sounds like mine. Trust me - you get stronger and the yoga gets better.
Hi Lori - def. water retention. Hang in there.
Belle - go to WI at least you'll know where you stand. I love getting my haircut too - especially the part where she massages my scalp mmm.... And you're right, I'm blessed that I do have a job and by extension a paycheck.
Jen - 70 minutes of running. Wow! I can't even imagine running for that long. I'm really looking forward to your running programs. One of my friends is going to Chicago this fall to run a marathon. Have you ever run a marathon or the mini-marathon in Indy?
So remember my whole Christian/Sean thing? Well, I've kinda been hanging out with that crowd but always in groups 'cuz I don't want to encourage Christian and I can't work up the courage to speak to Sean. So anyway, My birthday is coming up and I really wanted to go to an amusement park (LOVE roller coasters). A girlfriend and I were going to go and Christian wanted to come along but roller coasters are always better in even pairs so Christian invited Sean......because Christian thinks that Sean and my girlfriend ought to hook up.......this has all the makings of a disaster. We're not even talking love triangles anymore more like octagons!

She's Back!
My co-worker is back - YAY - I can dump this pile of work on her lap and wash my hands of it!!! Of course I had an incredibly crappy night last night so I barely slept and have broken down into tears twice this morning already. BF was in a car accident yesterday (he's totally fine and our truck barely felt it) but the other car will cost us a bit to repair. When he came home after sitting in the pub for a couple of hours he had this strange explosion of anger and he took off. When he came back a couple of hours later he couldn't remember what had happened or what had upset him so much. Very strange. And of course in his fit he threw a mug through the kitchen window and broke the phone (he didn't touch me - just scared me) He wants to find someone to talk to so this never happens again (it hasn't happened before in the 4.5 years we've been together) I'm worried that these are all issues involving his abusive father (Sunday is the 3rd anniversary of his death) Anyway, difficult to focus today so I'm going to hang out with you guys cause you're always so supportive.
Kirsty - we had a bus strike that lasted around 3 months here and it was ridiculous. A good thing was that people were car-pooling everywhere. There were even websites set up for people to find rides. Hope your strike doesn't last that long.
Kier - young professionals sound good - let us know how it goes.
Jayne - my sister adores pampered chef - a bunch of her future in-laws are going together and buying her the pot set as a wedding gift. She'll love it.
Lisa - strawberries are lovely. Someone once told me that the smell actually boosts your metabolism (of course when I add the whipped cream that would not help) I'll live in my fantasy world though - way to avoid the evil salads.
Jess - good luck at WI!
Laura - wow, that's fun calling you by your name. I love manicures. I'm going to get a petticure for my sister's wedding, that should be fun.
Lucy - good luck on the test, although it sounds like you'll do great!
Lori - Once all that water is gone you'll have a better idea of what really happened over those 4 days (4#, 4 days - that would be evil - could you imagine gaining 30# in 30 days?)
Belle - I know how you feel about WI, I haven't gone in 3 weeks but it helps motivate me a lot so I'm going on Saturday. No really, I mean it!
Jen - 70 mins!! I hope you have air conditioning.
Hello to anyone I've missed, I'll be checking in today because I only have my own job to do and I don't particularily want to do it. Have a great day.

I was down 0.6 - taking me to 45 even down. NOt as bad as I thought! It was a good meeting too. The leader is a young, hip girl (early 30's around there) so its easy to relate to her.
Now I am eating a TV dinner (light, but still 8pts) for lunch.
KT - you get to WI girl, if I can do it you can do it!!! I am sorry to hear what you went through - it can be scarey when other's anger managment issues arise and you are inadvertently effected. From the sounds of it he does need some outside intervention....the sooner the better. Good luck with that, and come chat whenever you need to about it.

I REALLY don't feel like working today (if I recall correctly, I don't EVER feel like working) ...
Winter (I'll probably never get used to calling you Laura)--I'm proud of you for getting a manicure instead of eating. That takes willpower, but the results of the manicure are a lot better (pretty nails) than the results of an evening of overeating (jiggly thighs). And I feel the same way as you do about the little corns on the little cobs--there's something freakish about them. :)
Lucy--Your yoga class sounds like lots of fun! Maybe I should try one and see what the bottom of my foot looks like. :D Have a nice weekend in Tampa and good luck with all of that statistics business...
Lori--Is the weather unbearably hot where you are? How about humid? I really wouldn't stress over the 4 lb gain because, like someone yesterday said, you would have had to consume something like 14,000 EXTRA calories to gain 4 lbs. There is just no way humanly possible. Relax and know that there is change in your future.
Jen--You met Adam Sandler? Oh, I have the biggest crush on him, he's just the cutest little thing! Way to go last night on the treadmill! 70 minutes is an awesome accomplishment!!
KT--I can understand why you're so stressed and I'm sorry to hear about it. Poor thing, sometimes BF stress is the worst kind in the world. I wish I could offer some advice or say the right thing, but I don't know what to say besides that I'm here for you, if you need it.
Only two long torturous hours of work left, not sure how the heck I'm going to make it. My job is just mind-numbingly boring today and I keep thinking of all the things I'd rather be doing right now. Plus, I'm actually excited about WI tonight and that's making the time go that much slower. I'm looking forward to tonight AFTER WI, too, because I'm not planning on doing a damn thing. I'm going to go to WI, go pick up some groceries, make dinner, and either read my book on the couch or watch TV on the couch. Then I'm going to bed early, since I work both jobs tomorrow.
I suppose maybe I should get a little work done now. Maybe I'll call BF first and see what he's getting into...
I'll be back, I promise.

Hey everyone! Just a quick check-in before I bury myself in books for the evening! Lucy- I guess you are done with your test now or is it tomorrow morning, because then we would be taking a test at the same time! That would be too funny. I spent most of last night having a lab writeup disaster so didn't get much studying done and then I was trying to finish the damn thing during lunch and, well, it basically sucked. But, my TA is such a sweet guy that he's letting me turn it in tomorrow afternoon for no points off. So I can sort it all out after the test. Shouldn't take too long now that I have figured out what I did wrong. Today though, I was seriously ready to KILL my lab partner. He hasn't done well at all on the last two tests and I made the mistake of telling him how I'd done when he asked. I haven't been having a stellar physics performance, but I guess my grades so far are pretty solid (at any rate, they're better than his!). So, tomorrow is sort of make or break for him, and he has been pestering me about my "study techniques". Mind you, I don't mind sharing, except that I don't really have a surefire study method! Today he wanted to know what I planned on looking over from the past few chapters this evening....and I haven't finished the homework yet, so I really didn't know. He seemed pretty put out by this. He and my other lab partner were going on today about how they might have to withdraw from the class and they didn't want to take it over again, etc. This guy has already done that for this class once already. So he's thinking of doing physics a THIRD time around. I think if I was in that boat I might just look into switching to a major that didn't require physics. Eeep, I have just written a freaking book about this stupid guy. Ok, new topic.
Eating is going so-so today. I did have a granola bar (I really need to lay off on those things), but everything else has been pretty good and it's going to be a big huge veggie stir-fry tonigh for dinner, so I'm going to come in ok with points. Really can't face the idea of walking this evening, as it's 95+ out and I was sweating buckets just standing outside a minute ago. Maybe it will cool down later and I will allow myself a study break!
KT- Glad your BF was not hurt in the accident! It's good that he wants to figure out why he got so mad and how to stop it. I'd say that's a verrrrry positive sign that it won't repeat.
Laura- You'll have to let us know how the love octagon works out. Maybe your girlfriend can tip Sean off that it's him your interested in!
Belle- GO TO WEIGH-IN!
Jen- I am eagerly awaiting the running challenge:) You're an angel for doing it!
Lori- it has to be fluid retention. I knew this girl once who claimed to go up as much as 10 pounds before TOM. Not sure if I entirely believe her (I mean, can you ever conceivably retain that much water?), but still, it's encouraging, sort of:)
Lucy- Good luck good luck good luck! I rather like stats, maybe we can trade tests:D
Laura- Good that you're feeling better about the non-job. I hope another good opportunity comes your way soon!
Jess- Good luck at WI. Hope your new leader is super nice and motivational.
Lisa- Here's my reminder for you, in case you forget: DIET COKE DIET COKE DIET COKE:D Good luck with it!
Jayne- Steamed veggies--you just put me in the mood for a big bowl of steamed broccoli with lemon juice- yum!
Kier- Have fun tonight. Maybe you'll get a spiffy replacement for NF:s: I need to meet myself some of these wonderful guys!
Kirsty- Hope you manage to get home and are not stranded in the office or some equally dire situation. The cheesecke sounds yummy though!
Ok, I'm off!

Not much time to write, but I am so lost...is it so wierd to eat corn on the cob that's been cut in half, then frozen by the folks at Green Giant? How does that scare you guys??? There must be something I'm not getting...
BTW, steamers can be seen at www.pamperedchef.com...
I need a pat on the back, because when I was held up and couldn't get home in time for lunch, I stopped at McDonald's. I ordered a Grilled Chicken, no mayo, small fry, and a diet coke...an eleven point lunch. Not quite what I had planned, but definitely doable. So they gave me a fillet of fish, a supersize fry, and a coke. I traded in the sandwich and soda (they made me keep the fries) and gave me an apple pie to compensate me for my inconvenience. I could have cried smelling it. BUT...I ate my sandwich, 3 fries, and drank my diet coke...didn't even touch the pie! I feel like I won the lottery on willpower. Incidentally, anyone know how many points is an apple pie from McD's? It's sitting in my fridge, and I'm wondering if I should chuck it or save it for a treat tomorrow when I can afford the points?

Just wanted to say A BIG HUGE CONGRATS TO LUCY ON THE JOB!
and also, AN EQUALLY HUGE CONGRATS TO JAYNE ON NOT EATING THE PIE!
And that's quite enough for large type for now:)
Kier- I generally don't tell my grades unless I know the other person has something really similar to me. It was a total accident. He asked if I had gotten a problem right and if he couls see how I did it, and wouldn't you know but my grade was right there over it, so there was no way he couldn't see him. But yeah, blurting grades out is generally bad, I agree.
Belle- missed your post earlier somehow- congrats on the loss! 0.6 is still good!
