300+ Club - 60 Day Challenge

As some of you may have read my mini rant on another thread - one of my gym mates is appearing on the Dr Oz show tomorrow - they are providing support in many forms for her for the next 60 days. My goal for the next 60 days is to act as if it is me the camera is following.
Let's come up with a daily challenge - my thanks to dgramie, jacquie, letstry and nyagirl for participating so far. Please participate as you can - if you can't post every day - that's fine.
The one commitment they required from Amanda was -
Can you walk 30 minutes every day?
Think about that - I think for me it's not CAN I but WILL I?
Who's in - let's see what we can do by November 15.
Who will post the challenge for Friday?

I'd like to participate! So, we just come up with a challenge to do as a group each day?

09-17-2009, 11:43 PM
Woohoo :D I can totally do the walking. I did a lot today, just walking around, not at the brisk pace I usually do lol, but I need to get my hip back into action! :D
kayleystar

I don't necessarily do walking as exercise, but I do 30 mins on the elliptical every day.

Hi everybody,
GG,
question for you, does my walking all day long count towards my excerise, I walk for my job, I am a marketing rep and in the field all day, so does that count towards my excerise?
I would like to join challenge for the 60 days if I may. What is the challenge for tomorrow. I could use some daily challenges, it might just be what the doctor ordered.
Could the challenge possibly be to make sure we get all of our water intake in the we should be?

I like this idea! I did great again yesterday. Scales are still up but Im doing everything right so its just a matter of time. I think WATER is a great friday challenge! Everyone needs a different amount of water. I drink a full 128 ounces per day and some only need 6-8 glasses. I think drinking the amount your body needs today is a great challenge.

09-18-2009, 08:04 AM
Great to see everyone - make this challenge what works for each of you and we'll throw in a daily challenge to. As for the walking it hit home that Dr Oz only asked on thing of Amanda - can you walk 30 minutes a day?
Today's challenge - get your water in - however much that means for you - for me it means 128 oz.
Let's report back as we can how we did - somebody come up with a Saturday challenge.
Want to earn a point for each successful challenge accomplished?

Oh yay a water day! :D *starts drinking* I need to get my water in better daily, I'm so bad on some days. I have this giant mug I drink out of now...it holds about 16 oz, but I usually down 5 or 6 of those on my good days.
As for the walking...I think the thing is a lot of people don't walk. Like me I rarely leave my house, I'm always here sitting. So to make myself go out and walk is a big deal for someone like me. Other people who work in offices and sit around all day don't probably think about the walking. Walking in a job situation, I think, more than qualifies :D.
I'm going to try to walk around as much as I can today. :D
I love the point idea gggirls :D
kayleystar
09-18-2009, 12:48 PM
Okay, I can definitely do the water! :D I make sure I get at least 8 glasses a day. I've given up pop, juice, and all other beverages, so water is the only thing I drink! :D
I would love to join!
Getting in 8 glasses of water per day IS a real challenge for me! So glad that that is the first challenge.
dgramie
09-18-2009, 09:22 PM
I have a 100 ounces jug..I fill it with ice and water every morning.I drain it by noon or so and then refill it and alot of days drink it down again. I dont drink anything else besides 2 cups of coffee. I know that amount seems extreme but my kidneys need it!
kayleystar
09-18-2009, 09:26 PM
Dgramie - That's awesome! I try to drink as much as possible, as well. It's good for ya!
Okay, I got in my 8 glasses of water. I haven't really been thirsty today, so it was tougher for me to chug it down than usual. Going to try to get a couple more glasses in before bed.
I kind of fail at coming up with challenges...but perhaps getting the recommended servings of fruit & vegetables in? Or another nutrient, such as fiber, etc.?

I made it on the water. 72 whole ounces and that is alot for me, usually I would only make 6 to 6 glasses a day.
That sounds great, fruit and veggies.

Good morning, ladies. Just wanted to wish you all luck today! Let's get those fruits & veggies in! :D
kayleystar
09-19-2009, 09:45 AM
So, I should work out in the early mornings, more often! It's not even 9am, and I've already gotten 2 servings of fruit in, and 7 glasses of water! :D

Carol - Well, according to the goverment's website, for my age & activity level, I need 3 cups of veggies & 2 cups of fruit each day.
So far, I've gotten in 2.5 cups of veggies, and 1.5 cups of fruit. :) Hopefully, I can squeeze in some more before bed!
And I definitely LOVE tomorrow's challenge! I know just what I'm going to do. :)
kayleystar
09-19-2009, 09:19 PM
Well, I spoke too soon! I went ahead and made a turkey burger for dinner (super delicious), and put a half cup of lettuce on the sandwich, to get my full servings of veggies! And then I had a small side of fruit with it, so voila!
Day 2/2 met! Yay! :)
Hope you are all having similar success! It's so hard for me to get my full servings in...fruit, I have no problem, but I'm super picky with veggies!

Oh yeah, tomorrow's challenge will be the bomb, thanks for this one Carol!!!!!

Im not sure what I am going to do for myself today..got a few hours to think about it.
Proud to say the scales are creeping downward. I am back in the teens..so thankful to be out of the 20s. I am going to try super hard and never gain back some of what I have lost again. It sure seems to take longer to get it back off.
Kaley- great job getting your veggies in. Veggies are easy for me most of the time.
color - your pizza sounds yummy
carol- good challenge for today.

09-20-2009, 10:16 AM
Dgramie - That's just excellent! I agree. Once you lose, then gain it back, it takes about FOREVER for it to come back off again. I'm still working on losing the 30 lbs I gained from my original start weight, and I've got about 80-ish pounds before I'll see numbers I haven't seen in 8-9 years. One day at a time, right? :)

Today I'm going to take some "me" time and also go buy myself a neat planner I've had my eye on at Barnes and Noble for 2010. I figure something simple and inspirational. :D I love going to that store, just love looking at all the books. :D

I've had a wonderful day - did my nails, used lots of lotion - something I usually am in too much of a hurry to do, and made a nice pitcher of peach tea (DH hates it so normally no peach tea around here).
Who's posting tomorrow's challenge?
kayleystar
09-20-2009, 07:47 PM
Well, today was a very nice day all around! I was a bit sore, so only did about half of my normal workout. But after that, I pampered myself! I took a nice hot bubble bath, and read a book for about an hour! Then, my boyfriend brought me home my favorite lotion as a surprise (Victoria's Secret Love Spell), so I spell awesome. lol. After I got out of the bath, I painted my toenails, and the boy even rubbed my feet! So I definitely took the day to just relax, and kind of 'reward' myself. :)
Dgramie - Sounds like a great day for 'me time'! And just a really nice way to spend a Sunday. I've always liked going to Antique Shops with my Mom. We always manage to find the craziest things. :)

Hey there little darlin's,
It has been a great day for me as well. Had a wonderful time in Church this morning and was blessed, got a little closer to God, and that is definetly taking care of me.
Came home and made a fantastic pot of chicken tortilla soup with some of my favorite and special spices. Soo healthy it was, again taking care of me.
Thirdly, my niece came over and gave me the best pedicure ever, oh yeah baby, I truly pampered.
So what is for tomorrow ladies???? I will check back shortly to see>>

After being upset last night and then I had a bit of a rough morning with some things as well as TOM and a new pack of BC pills, I just conked out until like 20 minutes ago. So I slept for like 2 hours straight! lol...that was me me time. I had a dreamless sleep, which was lovely.
Going to take a long spa like shower and nibble on some late dinner. :D *HUGS*

I thought of a good goal for tomorrow, since it's Monday! (Ags, if you want to still choose tomorrow's, go for it, and we'll do this one maybe on Tuesday?).
Anyhow, the goal would be to up the intensity of your workout. Start your week out right. And I don't mean kill yourself. lol. Whether it be simply adding a few extra minutes to your workout, setting the treadmill/elliptical to a higher instensity than you're used to, or if you haven't worked out in a while, get in a few minutes! What do you ladies think? :)

Kayley - great challenge for today! Kick it up a notch!
I'm in! I usually walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes at 3 mph. Today I'm going to kick it up to 3.5 and/or increase the time to 45 minutes.
Good luck everybody!

Today, I definitely kicked it up a notch! Mom & I usually go for a 20-ish minute walk/jog interval in the early afternoon. We decided to extend it to 40 minutes. Also, I did a cardio dance dvd that I haven't done in nearly 2 years, and it was a higher intensity than the ones I've been doing, working different muscle groups, etc. Definitely a good workout today!
Hope you all are doing spectacularly well today!

Kayley - what a great challenge today!
Tomorrow - weigh, measure and record everything that goes in your mouth!
I wanna throw something out - how would you feel if we establish challenges for each day of the week. Example - every Sunday would be do something nice for yourself. Every Monday would be kick up your workout, etc. We aren't having much participation and I'm not completely creative with coming up with something new every day. Please - what do you think?

Let's make some of these tough so we push ourselves. I like the no eating out weekend challenge - maybe no eating out both days? Water is good - fruit and veggies are good. What about try something new challenge - either a new recipe, new food, new exercise, etc.
Lots of input please
kayleystar
09-21-2009, 11:03 PM

I really kicked it up a notch yesterday.I used hand weights while jumping on the minitram.I can sure feel it today! I also jumped for 30 min.
I like the idea of a challengeper day.I love the no eat out weekends. I do know that at some point I will eat out on the weekend.I do like the control I have over food at home though.
I made a huge stirfry for lunch yesterday and it was only 250 calories. How come I dont do it more???? I LOVE THE STUFF!!

Well...I just forced myself to do a workout. I had these old DVDs the Taebo thing and boy did that kick my tushy. The first time I tried this I was 340 pounds, lasted 5 minutes...this time I could bend to the floor and everything, but I got worn out 30 minutes in. AWESOME! Love it, going to do it tomorrow! :D :D :D I even wore my wrist weights, but I had to take them off as I kept smacking myself in the face. :/ lol

09-22-2009, 01:47 PM
Okay darlings, I am a little confused. So what is todays challenge, is it to track everything single thing that goes into our mouth or is it the new recipe one?? Let me know, just in case I am already tracking everything that goes into my mouth.. Yay Me!!!
dgramie
09-22-2009, 01:54 PM
Heather is correct todays challenge is track everything that goes into your mouth. Those little bites add up.I read in a book at the drs office once that an average bite is 25 calories. So if you take 10 bites of things thru the day that would be 250calories worth of mindless eating bites.
Hi all,
Kayley, that was a good challenge yesterday! I increased my treadmill walk from 30 minutes @ 3mph to 45 minutes @ 3.3mph. I REALLY felt rejuvenated and excited that I pushed myself but boy did my thighs hurt afterwards!...LOL. I need to do/learn better stretches.
I'm doing WW points, so I'm already weighing and tracking everything.
I like the idea of trying new recipes and trying a different exercise dvd than the ones you would normally use. Also, how about adding an exercise that focuses on certain body parts? Like, doing a certain amount of lunges, squats, leg lifts (all which I personally hate doing..LOL). I dunno, just some suggestions.
Jacquie668
09-22-2009, 02:06 PM
Ohh can't wait for the recipe one. When is that?? Maybe we should have a recipe one every week. I mean I think we all agreed Sunday should be a "find a moment for yourself/do something nice for yourself" day...could we have a recipe day too? Just tossing out ideas and I love the focusing on body type exercises. Like "do a push up," which I can't do lol. I try though and the day i do it WOOHOOOO! haha

I did really well yesterday. I accounted for everything I ate, got rid of a lot of cooked leftover foods, and you know I noticed that it doesn't take much to fill me up. Which provides a bit of an interesting problem...I need to get enough food in me so I think I need to eat more mini meals during the day. Even if it is just carrots or something. :) I didn't weigh my food, but I did pay attention to sizes. I've been measuring oatmeal out and such as well. :D Amazing what 1/2 a cup makes! lol A lot...hahahaha

What Debbie said hit home - some of these challenges are already such an ingrained part of us. How can we make them a challenge for all? Getting my water in is never an issue for me so that challenge wasn't so much of a challenge for me but I know others struggle with it - I'm not so creative - how can I use that challenge to my advantage?
Let's post the weekly challenge list not later than the weekend - suggestions needed.
Good luck with today's challenge!
kayleystar
09-23-2009, 10:11 AM
Hmmmm...I'll be thinking about it, Carol. We could always combine the water challenge with the day for fruits & veggies (if we're going to keep that one). Water isn't a challenge for me, but getting all my veggies in is, so I'd have to really step it up on that day. :) Just thinking....
Anyhow, today's challenge is all finished for me! I went to the gym this morning before class, and did strength training and the stability ball. And then I tried out the Bosu Ball, which I'd never done before. Only did about 5 minutes on it, but boy was it tough! Much more difficult than the stability ball! I don't remember what the rules about linking are, but just do a Google search if you don't know what a Bosu Ball is. :)

Hello and good evening to all,
Glad you all had such a good day. I did not participate in today's challenge becasue I do not go to the gym or even have the time to excerise like you wonderful ladies. So today, I just challenged myself to positive no matter what. It worked.
Now ladies, what's up for tomorrow????

What's tomorrow ladies?

Lost - of course you can share this challenge with us!
I'm still shaking my head in amazement - my water class just wasn't gonna work after getting new highlights this morning (you'd think I was the bride). Didn't want to end up with green hair. So I mowed our yard - then walked down the street and mowed my folks yard and while I was there mowed their neighbors yard (she's been a great neighbor to my folks). A year ago never in a million years would I have entertained that notion - one - let alone 3. All done and with the walk there and back - 70 wonderful minutes. It's not even the exercise that feels the best - IT'S HAVING DONE IT.
Read it in my sig - success is a choice - today especially I feel like I CHOSE IT.

That's just awesome, Carol! :)
Well, I posted on the main thread that this week, my jeans are fitting once again...so I'm still pretty excited about that. But today, when working out, I just began to feel so much stronger, and this sense of empowerment just came over me, and it's so hard to explain the feeling...but I feel incredible.
I know that I will be successful. The weight isn't going to come off overnight, but I WILL BE A SUCCESS STORY!

Today my focus was on getting my self confidence back, and the positive is, IT IS WORKING!!!! I was happy we me just being me.
Then I turned my focus on others less fortunate than myself right now and donated three boxes of food to the foodbank, packed with all kinds of good stuff just like I buy for myself. This brought a smile to my face and heart,
Great Job Carol on all your hard work and kindness.
Kayleystar, Yes you will be a success, better than that, you already are!!!!

I have a lot of challenges facing me today - today is day before the big wedding day. My niece is picking me up about 6 to go to water class - positive - have exercise out of the way! Then manicure/pedicures - then I'll take her mil to be to a fall festival (she's crafty and wants to see how it's done in the big city - lol) and then rehearsal and dinner.
How about getting all your fruits/veggies in today - that will be a challenge for me. Work for everyone? If not please feel free to change it.
I'm off to enjoy my day - I'll check in on you all later.

Today I made myself, well yesterday, stand in the mirror and smile at myself. I've been feeling very negative about myself lately and I'm gaining back my confidence. I also took the time to plan my meals for two weeks, I'm excited about that. :D
Feeling icky with soo many cooked foods, so I'm moving into a balanced two weeks of raw and cooked. :D Mostly raw haha. Love salads. :D
Yay fruits and veggies! :D All i eat, but I need to eat!

You know, It has been a REALLY long time since I ate healthy...... I don't even know how many fruits and vegetables a person is supposed to eat.....(now if you want to know how many little debbie snack cakes come in a box I could tell you that :) )
is it 5 a day? or is that just veggies and its something different for fruit? is there a good (reasonable) website with the current food pyramid?

Good morning, all!
Yesterday, I got in all my fruits & veggies. Was short in the veggie department, so I made myself a nice big salad for dinner. Yum!
So, for today, let's each choose our own challenge! Whatever is most difficult for you (water consumption, exercise,), or anything, and work towards achieving a goal today! For me, I'm going to make sure I get my fruits & veggies in again today. Water isn't a problem for me, nor is exercise, but I need to start meeting my recommended fruits & veggies EVERY day
So, what is most challenging for you, that you're going to work towards today?
Jacquie668
09-26-2009, 09:23 AM
Exercise for me...that seems to be one of my core issues.
Don't forget everyone, Sundays are "take a moment or some time for yourself" or "do something nice for yourself"... :D
Going to do my Taebo today... woo :D..of course I have a TON of food prep to do today...UGH! lol

hi ladies Im here.
Lets see thursday I looked into the alley by my house and thought wow its raining hard. THe water was just running down the alley like a river...then I realised it wasnt raining hard at all. We had a break in the water line and my basement is flooded. THe guys couldnt find the shutoff to the mainline in the alley so they had to let it continue to run till they got it fixed. Needless to say I had standing water in my basement.GRR
Then as a few of you know we got a new roof a few months back. Well I went into my living room and water was running down my wall. I called the roofer and he came over and thinks it was from my bay window roof.
He thinks he has it fixed. Guess we will have to wait till another hard rain to find out for sure.
I ate horrible on thursday. I wont be able to go down to lift weights for a few more days. THe carpet is still soaking wet. I have fans and a dehumidifier going.
Just wanted to check in today...IM going to do something nice for myself today...going to get my eyes checked.I know I need glasses.

Well, I didn't do so well today. I got my fruit in, but not all of my vegetables. One serving short. :( Boo. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I haven't been hungry really all day today. I've barely eaten over 1,100 calories.
Anyhow, remember! Tomorrow (Sunday), is do something nice for yourself day! So enjoy it!

I got my workout in, I can barely keep up with it, and did well throughout the day then I was so tired and blah blah I overate at night and not the best foods. I feel like I've gained weight, maybe a pound or two, but it is hard for me to tell as I'm all sore and bloated and depending too much on cooked foods. So, I'm today focusing on other things, banning myself from the scale. Getting a bit to fussy. I'm going to push myself all week, so the scale is going to bug the HECK out of me lol. I think it is going to be high until it levels off. Pretty much I want to be like not bloated all day haha.
I struggle, I am not like one of those people who lose like a gazillion pounds in a year lol...I'm one of those people who loses a bit, possibly gain back some, lose that, then continue slowly or in spurts. lol. Yeah so NO more scale weighing for me for awhile. Too much, that is ONE thing I can do for myself today! Totally positive. :D Going to focus on other things.

Let's go forward this week with the following challenges:
Sunday - something nice for ME
Monday - kick it up a notch
Tuesday - weigh, measure and record every bite
Wednesday - try something new - either food wise like a recipe, exercise based or some different behavior (example - put your fork down between each bite)
Thursday - get all fruits/veggies/water in!
Friday - report on an NSV or get "back to basics" with the health side of this - it's always good to make a list of all the things you can do now that you couldn't before as well as a list of things you look forward to doing
Saturday - call your own challenge - whatever is difficult for you (Saturday my personal challenge will be no eating out)
Can't wait to hear how everyone does this week!

OK - possibly not the best choice - but my ME thing today was to take the day off from exercise. I was beat after last nights festivities - BTW my nieces wedding was beautiful - a perfect midwest day for an outdoor ceremony. A deer watched the whole thing from the meadow. Back to basics for me!
On to tomorrow where I will "kick it up a notch" - thanks Kayley.

Well it was a good good day for me. I had some craving issues, I always do when I feel like I'm eating too many carbs and opt for the raw foods, and I ended up having some oatmeal tonight to just satisfy me. It worked lol. I didn't overeat, I was really light all day. Made an incredible salad today, woo!
The thing I did for myself today was get those raw foods into my tummy! From a green smoothie to a cool salad, yay! :D
I also took a day off from exercise, I'm super sore from the Taebo thing...I'm gonna do it tomorrow though. Going to try to get all the way through it! :D

I took the day off from exercise as well. I am having trouble adjusting to having to wear glasses. I even had to get bifocals. I am dizzy and light headed with a constant headache. The dr said it should be better in a few days. I also took a long afternoon nap. My youngest even cooked dinner tonight and cleaned it all up.I felt very spoiled!

Today, after I got home from the photoshoot (I'm a photographer on the side), I got my "New Moon" book, and re-read over half of it, in preparation for the new movie. Spent the afternoon in the sun reading in the hammock in our backyard. It was so relaxing. Then I came in and took a hot bubble bath, and settled in and watched quite a few episodes from the first season of "True Blood". So I had a very vampy day. Haha. It was really nice!

Evening, ladies. I didn't kick it up a notch at all today. I woke up this morning all stuffed up, and just got worse as the day progressed. I did a bit of stretching, and a couple of Yoga poses, but even that made my stomach feel horrible; so I took the day off, and got lots of medicine in me, and hopefully tomorrow, I'll feel a bit better.
Remember, tomorrow is weigh, record, and measure EVERY bite. Good luck everyone. :)

I'm so proud of me! I'd pat myself on the back but I'm sore from something in a workout earlier this week (yay). So today I laced up my shoes - walked to the fitness center - and did a nice workout all on my own - no trainer, no class, just me and some dumbbells. On the way home I ran into my trainer - it would be a hard call to say who was prouder of me.
Reminder - be sure to take your measurements - progress isn't only seen on the scale!

Okay, ladies...I'm a few days behind. It's been a crazy week for me, so I haven't been online as much as I have been.
Thursday - Fruits/Veggies/Water Day
I did fairly well. I got in all my fruit & water, and was only half a cup short on the vegetables. I made enough steamed broccoli to put me over my daily amount I should eat, but I just couldn't EAT anymore. I was full, and didn't want to overdo it.
Friday
I continued to work on my "Bucket List". You know, the list of things you want to do before you die. Most of my things require (or at least would be more enjoyable) at goal weight. So that was inspirational for me to keep it up, because I'm only 23 years old, and I know I can accomplish EVERYTHING on my list, if I just get healthy!
Saturday - Call your own challenge
Today, I just wanted to keep myself in check. I knew that I was going out for lunch at a Chinese buffet with my Mom. (I've been craving Chinese food something FIERCE all week). I did very well! Before I could chow down, I got a plate, and filled it with a salad...just lettuce, light dressing, and a couple of croutons...even left off the cheese, which used to be a NECESSITY with me & salads, and the other portion of the plate with Mandarin Oranges, and some strawberries. After that, I had a small portion of Chicken & Broccoli with rice. Mostly broccoli, I might add, and only a few pieces of chicken. It really satisfied the craving, and I did NOT go overboard. Not in the least. I walked out of there with having only eaten 800-ish calories. Pretty good, since I would used to walk out with 2,000+, because I'd just eat whatever, and a LOT of it. And I didn't eat breakfast, because I wasn't hungry, and wanted to save some calories for that lunch. So I still did very well for the day. Completely guilt-free trip to the Chinese buffet. Whodathunk?! ;)

Today I am out and about all day, won't be able to kick anything up a notch. Trying to be positive today!
A bit of emotional eating yesterday, which shows in my scale weigh-in this morning. You know when the poundage is up up up. My weight is going to be up for the next Big Loser weigh-in anyhow due to the TOM signs and things and that will start this week. I'll just keep trucking and focus on positive things this week. :) I don't handle stress well. Still learning how to cope with my emotions.

Well, today to kick it up a notch, I decided to do a test with the 30 Day Shred Workout. I'm going to do it EVERYDAY with no breaks until that 30 days is up! And I'm going to see if it truly does as it claims ('lose up to 20 lbs in 30 days'). It's a killer workout!
Anyhow, I had been modifying when they do jumping jacks, and just jogged, because jumping jacks are HARD. Well, as of today, and to kick it up that extra notch, I did them. I'm definitely sore, but feel so GREAT!

I was a little shy on veggies today - very unusual for me. BUT I really kicked it up a notch - I had a personal training session for 45 minutes - all upper body then 60 minutes in the water - by the time I was in the water my arms were already sore - I can't imagine what tomorrow will be like. Getting a day ahead (and since I can't reach to pat myself on the back) my trainer was amazed at my upper body strength - normally it is a class environment. Don't worry I'll find something tomorrow too (I know - it's what you were afraid of isn't it).

Well I wanted to do 7 full days of exercise, BUT today there was no way I could get myself to hop around or even do Yoga or walk. My hip is stiff, I'm sore, and fatigued (hormones TOM). So, my NSV is taking control and listening to my body. I'm going to do 6 days a week, rest, and tomorrow I'll have the energy to get back in the exercise saddle...even with a stiff hip. :D
Ah GAH my weight is up, I think it is TOM (i do get a bit insecure with hormones raging as well)...right now I ranging from 270-272 and my lowest was 266...well...we'll see. I'm still going to be on my TOM come this Sunday for the weigh in thread thing. I usually don't get rid of this weight until a few days do a week afterward when I start to level off. *frustrated sigh* lol Sometimes I feel like I have two weeks where I'm feeling normal. :/
I should also mention I'm bloated and I know I'm retaining water as usual, but still fussy. I just think I haven't lost much over all this month, so I need to make some changes. Obviously exercising is a key one here, but also that balance of both, food and exercise is something I'm still grasping.

Jacquie - I am a firm believer in at least one day off. It's great that you're learning to listen to your body.
I made a Southwestern Soup today - I've never had it at Chilli's but supposedly it is their recipe.
My NSV today is two great hours of exercise - water class started my day off at 630 this morning and a great cardio class at 6 this evening.
Tomorrow my challenge is "no cake at the baby shower - actually I think I will make it NO FOOD AT THE BABY SHOWER" as we are going to dinner - don't need to graze all day.

Well today so far I've gotten up and attempted to do the TaeBo workout again...I can get almost through it. I believe it is 45 minutes long and I am now at 38-40 minutes but I just get worn out and when I feel like I'm not giving it my all or I'm panting like a mad woman, that is when I stop lol. So, I'm getting there...my other workout I can get all through the cardio and some into the strength, so I have two goals now! :D
Taking a day off was essential, I'll have to remember that as my body really needed it. Today I had no problem suffering through a workout hahahaha. :D

Today...I have a NSV of doing 6 days of exercise in one week, which i have never done before. Shameful I know, but I did it. Next week 6 days...did my other cardio DVD today and got through half of the strength...my legs were so shaky and my arms were done so I had to quit lol. I hope to get farther and farther each time!

OK - I want to hear what everyone did for themselves today (please).
I took the pups for a nice walk AND DH went with us. I've cooked my chicken breasts for lunches this week and there is a big pot of southwestern vegetable soup in the fridge!
How about you - what did you do just for you?

Well my moment for myself...I don't know if I did anything for myself yesterday. I did watch a horror movie, that was fun.
I'm not stepping on the scale until next sunday...will see how my weight is. Still on TOM, last day before my "buffer" day I believe so hopefully my weight will go down. I HOPE!

Here's the list

Tomorrow I am totally doing something nice for myself. I've worked hard with the exercise thing the past two weeks. I'm really excited as even though sometimes I can't go as far as I like, I'm still doing it. Tomorrow I do TaeBo, so I'm excited about that.
My weight is leveling off now, so yay! I'm in the 265 bracket now. I need to work on balancing my meals, so that comes next week. :D
Getting there! I really fluctuate a lot though...woosh.

Gah! I made every intention of being back on this thread regularly, but I've just had a chance to be on the weekly, before I've had to jet!
BUT! I am back NOW. lol. And I'm kicking it up a notch today with my workout! :)

As usual, I weighed, recorded, and measured every bite yesterday. :)
I start my Internship today, and it's in an office. When I worked in an office before, I tended to oversnack. So to try something NEW, I'm going to make a conscious effort not to mindlessly snack.

Kayley - don't take the first bite! That's how I handle it.
This challenge was started if you remember to run parallel to a challenge my gymmate Amanda is doing with Dr Oz. He was here to work with Amanda again last weekend and the show will air I think November 12. I'm so pleased to report she has lost 26 pounds and gaining confidence. She actually is going to meet me tonight and walk with my to the gym instead of driving - how's that for a behavior change for her. Yes - I'm proud!

Im still eating to fast..I tried to put my fork down between bites and its hard..so I will try that again today. Everyone should try it at some point.I also dont drink enough while eating..so I will try and drink 16 ounces before I start eating and then a sip every few bites.

Today is a day for me. I know it is Monday and that wasn't the challenge, but I'm sick and tired of helping people and getting flack back, especially in my life and the stress and hurt feelings it causes me...sooo...today I'm TAKING A DAY FOR ME! I slept late, I did my exercise, I am going to eat nice things...pfffffftda to the world lol. I hope everyone is still doing this challenge and still rocking!

OK - we've got 11 days left - let's kick it in gear and do this as if Dr Oz was following us with a camera - let's show them just what we can do!
Amanda has lost 30 lbs since the first of the challenge - I'm so proud of her but have a case of scale envy. I have adopted some new habits as a result of this challenge though - I do something special for myself each Sunday. I kick it up a notch frequently, I try new things more readily (still haven't mastered putting my fork down between bites), I'm weighing my foods more often.
What changes have you made during this challenge?
Jacquie668
11-06-2009, 09:47 AM
I haven't lost 30 pounds, but I have lost some weight, learned how to exercise and challenge myself, learning how to balance things so I can lose weight steadily, and staying on track with my focus and goals right on the spot. Still not there yet...I need another 60 days lol.

Jacquie - maybe we should do another challenge to take us to the new year.
Thoughts anyone?
I haven't lost 30 lbs either but I do feel like this challenge has refocused me.

Yeah, I sort of just figured some things out today lol...I think we need to keep the challenge going for sure. Plus I am going to attempt going 100% raw...I think I can do it! That is a challenge in itself, even with little slip ups along the way. :D
I feel refocused as well...listening to my body again...I think I was a bit deaf to my needs over the past few months. Too much stress, not able to handle it, learning how to cope and move forward. Right now my body says "PLEASE NO MORE COOKED STUFF!" lol... it isn't happy right now.
