Default Attending a wedding

Hi guys...

I'm feeling pretty happy today, so I thought I'd just share with you guys. My husband is in a wedding at the beginning of October. When I started this journey last January, I sort of made it a goal that I would be able to wear a dress to this wedding. Now mind you, I probably haven't worn a dress in over 10 years. I've worn a "few" skirts, but always a two-piece set to kind of cover my tummy and even then I was usually more comfortable in pants. I actually purchased a dress today......I can't believe it. I tried on several and the question wasn't "Will it fit?", the question was "Which one do I want?" This is amazing to me because I would literally dread every event we were invited to. I would hate having to find something to wear, knowing nothing would fit and whatever I did buy wouldn't hide the fact that I was fat. And honestly, I think the personal misery over being fat showed on my face when I would go out. It's so sad to me thinking back on all these lost years.

Not this time! I bought a dark purple dress. It kind of hugs my figure and ends right at the knee. Now my figure is not perfect by any means, but it's SO much better than before. I bought some sparkly jewelry to go with it and now I just have to find shoes. There are many people attending this wedding that I haven't seen for a long time. I can't wait until I show up, feeling so much better about myself.

Just wanted to share with you guys! Keep up all the good work and we are going to reach our goals together. If you would have told me a year ago that I'd be fitting into this dress, I'd never had believed it were possible!

I love weddings, but unforturnatly haven't been able to attend any because of my job though. They are such beautiful occasions, and you will look amazing in your new dress. Congrats on the dress! You should def. post some pictures for everyone to see how far you have come!

I predict a LOT of dresses in your future. And shoes, and sparkly jewelry, and ...

Go and enjoy yourself, and you have EARNED every single compliment you will get - accept them graciously and STRUT your stuff, girl!

It sounds lovely, and what a wonderful thing to be able to go try on dresses and have the question be, "Which one do I want?" and not, "Which one will fit?" Awesome!

Would love to see some pictures of you looking fabulous in your dress! Congratulations!

I have a wedding next year and I've got a dress I bought on sale, thinking 'I'll fit into it one day'. Well, "one day" hasn't arrived yet, but by next year it WILL fit - the best result would be to try it on and realise it's even a bit too big!

Oh, such a lovely update! Congratulations! Enjoy your day with your dressed up DH and all your loved ones. You might ask the photographer to get a nice picture of just you and DH. How often do you get those opportunities?

Thanks everyone! I bought some shoes today...HEELS! Another crazy thing because flats were basically all I ever wore. Now everyone pray that I don't twist my ankle in these things and de-rail my exercise schedule! LOL!

I will try to update you guys after the wedding. It's the first weekend of October.

I appreciate all the well-wishes guys!! Thanks!

That is so great!

Where did you buy the dress? Can you post a link to it online?
