Living Maintenance - No Excuses! Maintainer's Food and Exercise Accountability 9/14-9/20View Full Version : No Excuses! Maintainer's Food and Exercise Accountability 9/14-9/20 Shannon in ATL 09-14-2009, 12:59 PM Where did our accountability go last week? Shannon in ATL 09-14-2009, 01:03 PM This week will be better... Today: E: really hoping to get in some exercise today. I can't inhale deeply without coughing yet, so that might get in the way of the exercise vision.... B: smoothie, coffee S: string cheese, grapes, blueberries L: grilled chicken salad S: lf vanilla yogurt w/ kashi go lean, apple w/ light swiss laughing cow D: turkey sausage over rice, broccoli S: graham cracker or yogurt midwife 09-14-2009, 01:05 PM What's accountability? ;) Oh..... Well, my weekend wasn't awful, but wasn't 100% healthy either. I split a dessert with DH Saturday night and I had fritos (shock!!) last night. And 2 chocolate chip cookies in the middle of the night while waiting for babies to exit into our world. Today: yawn!!! a nap is in order! eggs, zucchini, flour tortilla, a little cheese, red chile That's all so far! One hour weights at the gym tonight! I hope you get back to 100% soon, Shannon! mandalinn82 09-14-2009, 02:02 PM My weekend was also not bad, not great. I did have cupcakes, but I didn't BINGE on cupcakes, which I tend to do when I'm at a bakery where I can't go very often. I ate moderately and yesterday was back OP, but my scale has way too many factors going against it and is rebelling. I'll get back POP today, and it'll work itself out (I hope!) Tonight is unpacking and getting to bed at a reasonable hour. I hate flying home from the east coast.... ICUwishing 09-16-2009, 09:41 AM Just a grateful comment from a mostly-lurker - Reading what the successful Maintainers are eating has been really enlightening. I doubt that most people who are reluctant to start a weight loss program would think to start here, but clearly, thin healthy people DO eat a lot, and eat a lot of incredibly delicious food! I'm "maintaining my losses so far", and this weekly thread is becoming one of my first stops each day because it's pretty amazing what y'all are doing to food! paperclippy 09-16-2009, 11:41 AM POP again yesterday, and my vacation weight is gone. Actually, amusingly enough, today I am exactly the same weight I was on december 30 last year. Oh well, at least I'm not MORE than I was then. I guess it just goes to show that with my thyroid medicine dosage finally normalized, I am capable of maintaining my weight again. Wednesday: B - raisin bran, blueberries, skim milk L - leftover mushroom zucchini risotto S - tiny apple, small asian pear S - small apple D - chicken tamale casserole, green beans E - HIIT run Shannon in ATL 09-16-2009, 11:46 AM I swear I wrote a post here yesterday, but now I don't see it... Sadness... ICU - I sometimes feel like I'm eating all the time, my boss often asks me 'how do you keep from gaining all the weight back, you are eating every time I come into your office'.When I plan in advance and have healthy choices I seem to eat even more often! :) Now, I'm trying to get more creative with the cooking! Congrats on maintaining your loss so far! Yesterday: No exercise, was still pretty out of it. B - oatmeal with 1/2 peach, walnuts, skim milk; 1/2 ww bagel w/almond butter S - cottage cheese, mixed berries L - turkey sandwich with veggies (Subway) S - apple, cheddar cheese L - chicken, rice, veggies (maybe separate, maybe stir fry) Ex: the last day of vacation rest :) Back at it tomorrow. I got 6 cortisone shots this morning in my shoulder, and I can't really move my arm. If 6 shots with a big wiggly needle isn't enough of a reason to skip exercise, I really can't think what is. But if I can, I'll do something. B - PBJ S - Protein Shake L - Leftovers: Grilled chicken, black beans, green beans S - Popcorn S - Melon D - Beef stew in crockpot after I go get my hair done (poor planning. Will have to sit up in hair chair. At least I have good meds. S - NSA Ice Cream E - we'll see. Shannon in ATL 09-17-2009, 02:53 PM Yesterday was great foodwise - I ended up with ground chicken & peppers in red sauce with WW spaghetti instead of my planned meal, but kept it in line. Didn't exercise - by the time I got home I was wiped out so ended up sleeping for two hours. By the time I woke up I was congested & dizzy and my ears were stopped up again, so tabled exercise after I couldn't keep my balance on the attempted yoga. Amanda - I think six shots gives you a pass on exercise today. E: probably none. I have to get better before I go insane. B: smoothie, coffee S: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries L: grilled chicken BLT on ww bread (no mayo) S: lf vanilla yogurt w/ berries, apple w/ light laughing cow or oatmeal D: pb&j, apple w/ laughing cow if it wasn't afternoon snack, banana or cheese bunnies otherwise S: dunno... kashi crunchy bar? cereal? WaterRat 09-17-2009, 03:58 PM Amanda - OUCH!!! You definitely have a pass. :) Yesterday went to pieces in the late afternoon. I got home about 5:15 and had a meeting at 6 ish, but wasn't hungry, so I didn't eat. Well, that didn't work. I ended up having a few pieces candy, a small piece of cheesecake (which I scraped the cherries of off - eww, don't like them - and didn't finish) and a cup of coffee. Probably still in my calorie range, but not exactly nutritious! B - 2 eggs, 1/2 ww bagel, mix of fruit (split 1/2 peach, kiwi fruit, and small amt of raspberries with DH) S - ff latte, 3 Ritz with pb L - leftover chicken, few vegs S - cottage cheese, mixed berries D - chicken, rice, veg - that was supposed to be yesterday's dinner Ex: lawn mowing/leaf pickup mandalinn82 09-18-2009, 01:30 PM Where is everyone? Up 6 lbs of cortisone and painkiller weight. Ugh. Oh well. I WILL exercise today, even if its moderated. B - WW LC tortilla, PB, chopped apple roll up S - Orange L - Beef Stew S - Popcorn S - Protein Shake D - Spicy Mexican Chicken Soup - Chicken Chile Verde base, chopped tomato, jalapeno, brown rice, zucchini, carrot, celery, onion, chicken broth to thin S - NSA Ice Cream E - 60 min cardio, 45 of what strength I can do (I think abs may be hard because I can't lay on my back, and I'll be limited on some of what I normally do on the floor, so I'll do what I can). Shannon in ATL 09-18-2009, 01:58 PM Yesterday came in fine on calories - I substituted a Guinness Draught for my evening snack  it was less calories then the planned snack at least. Today: Plan to exercise when I get home. Not even going to speculate on what I'll be doing at this point. B: smoothie (higher cal than I planned, got carried away with the peanut butter), coffee S: totally full from calorie high breakfast, so moved morning snack to after lunch L: grilled chicken salad S: assorted berries, lf vanilla yogurt w/ berries D: ground chicken breast tacos S: dunno - might end up getting some ice cream type product paperclippy 09-18-2009, 02:07 PM I survived the taco bar at work -- actually it was way better than I was expecting. They got it catered from On The Border and it was more of a fajita bar. Still have no clue how to calorie count it, but I can at least record what I ate.
