Smile McDonald's Yourself! Fitness

I was just going through my extensive fitness DVDs and videos and I came across my four McDonald's Yourself! Fitness DVD’s. They came out back in 2006, with McD's big health push paired with Oprah's former personal trainer Bob Greene. I got the yoga DVD in 2006 and never used it until 2008 and liked it so much that I got the other three off of Amazon for next to nothing, and then, of course, never used any of them! I was thinking about giving them a try. There are four 15 minute workouts DVD’s: yoga, cardio, core, and strength. It was kinda like an adult happy meal; you got one of the four DVD’s when you ordered a salad and bottled water. It seems pretty good thus far, letting you choose whether or not you're up for a challenge or want to take it easy and what you're looking for in a work out. I don't really like the fact that it has a "virtual personal trainer" because I would rather see an actual human do the workout as opposed to a video game character, but I do like how she explains each exercise. I was just wondering if anyone else had them and used them and what they thought about them.

McDonald's actually didn't come out with that, it was a video game which I imagine also was made into a DVD? It has been replaced by something called My Fitness Coach. I have My Fitness Coach for the Wii and it is pretty cool but I haven't taken advantage of it like I should.

Yeah, McDonald’s made me this way and I guess at some point in time they wanted to fix it, just so they can redo the damage! I guess they endorsed the Fitness franchise for at least long enough to market their DVD's and put their name on it! Maybe salads didn't sell like McNuggets and eating right and exercising was a little too damaging to their revenue! I still like the DVD’s, and I’ll post any progress I make with them. If nothing else, they’ll keep me active. I guess I owe thanks to the Golden Arches (thanking them for something other than my huge thighs garnered from their fries!)

I have the Yourself! Fitness for the PC and also My Fitness Coach for the Wii. I used to use the Yourself! Fitness program a lot and really enjoyed it. I've not used My Fitness Coach yet but expect it to be an updated version of the other. You can't go wrong with anything that gets you moving!
