Good morning!

I have no big plans today, so food should be safe. Though there might be ice cream...

E: light DB and some cardio, unless I take advantage of the day and go to the park
B: coffee, DH wants to make hashbrowns...
S: string cheese or cereal w/ berrie & skim, depends on breakfast
L: turkey, tomato, french onion laughing cow on flat out wrap
S: dunno yet
D: ground turkey breast over rice or ground turkey tacos
S: yogurt w/ berries, unless the mentioned ice cream develops, then I'm looking for the Stoneyfield frozen yogurt at Publix

Wow. Just me today so far. That's okay. Makes it easier to admit my popcorn afternoon snack, extra taco, cranberry orange muffins (fat free at least) for breakfast and ice cream chaser after dinner. :( Tomorrow will be better.

I still have one heck of a cold, so so far I've had lots of fluids and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. And a few sample bites of the jam I was making. Other than that, just not hungry.

We're planning on having pork and long bean stirfry with brown and wild rice, and I may have a snack...popcorn or a protein shake... (and will definitely be having my standard ice cream dessert...I'm big on cold/sweet things when I'm sick).

No exercise, though.

Going to be better today. If I say it over and over I'll hopefully start to believe it.

Amanda - hope you feel better soon! I think I'm starting to get a cold myself, which I figure accounts for some of my blah feeling.

Today:
E: some cardio when I get home if there is time - I'm on a WC panel this afternoon so hoping for an hour gap between it and time to pick up DSS from daycare.
B: smoothie, coffee
S: string cheese, strawberries, blueberries
L: grilled chicken salad
S: yogurt with berries or a Kashi bar, depending on timing
D: sandwich - probably turkey & broccoli w/ laughing cow on flat out wrap
S: dunno yet - yogurt maybe?

Plan for today for my still-sick self:

B - French toast and strawberries
S - Asian Pear
L - Leftover Pork and Long Bean stirfry, brown rice
S - Popcorn
S - Muscle Milk
D - Grilled chicken, black beans, grilled zucchini
S - NSA Ice Cream, berries

E - 60 min cardio, 60 min strength (the cardio will be lighter than usual. I'd really like the strength to be good, though, so we'll try to muscle through).

Amanda - More power to you on the exercise... as the day goes on I feel more and more cold symptoms popping up which are making me really not want to walk across the hall to the bathroom, much less exercise... :(

Feel better soon, Amanda!

My hospital's cafeteria is now offering Muscle Milks. I'll have to check them out next time I'm there!

Today:
3 mile run (sprint intervals)
1/2 bagel, laughing cow, protein shake
lunch will be scrambled eggs (1 whole + 4 whites), zucchini, bell pepper, black beans, red chile, avocado....can't wait! Literally, I'm starving and it smells so good!
snack?
dinner: leftover pork chops with sauteed cabbage

It is so strange not to be hungry. It's 11:30 am here, I've done most of my cardio, and I still can't force myself to eat breakfast. Maybe I'll have that protein shake now...at least it's liquid.

Hi ladies!

I just joined yesterday. I have lost almost 50 pounds since February. I would like to lose another 10, but I am in no hurry. I am in a size 4/6 now, and am really comfortable here. Actually, just looking to keep toning, and lowering body fat. If that entails more weight loss so be it.

I am a Turbo Kick instructor, and exercise is a part of my daily life now. I am either doing Turbo Kick, Turbo Jam, Insanity, ChaLean Extreme or Cathe.

My eating is pretty good. Portioned controlled. I watch fat, sugar etc. I try to eat 4-6 times a day.

I look forward to chatting with you all.

Renee

Hey Renee! Welcome to the maintainers forum!

Got through all of my workouts today...it was a struggle, but my rule is above neck symptoms, you do what you can, so that's what I did.

Thanks!

Just finished Turbo Kick Round 37 along with 3 PiYo sections. Had my chocolate Shakeology, and it's off to work!

BodyBugg calculated 875 calories burned during the workout! WOOT WOOT!

Good morning!

Welcome Renee!

My cold is starting to beat on me a little today. I got my exercise in yesterday, but today my chest feels a little rattley and I'm hoarse. I typically have Amanda's 'above the neck' rule - this might be a rest day. Chest congestion and stopped up ears often equals dizzy for me, so probably shouldn't be trying to wave dumbbells around... I thought my cardio yesterday was going to kill me, and I feel worse today, so that probably isn't wise either.

Today:
E: depends on how I feel when I get home
B: smoothie, coffee, mini bagel
S: string cheese, blueberries, strawberries
L: grilled chicken salad or chicken wrap if I go out
S: lf vanilla yogurt w/ berries, apple w/ laughing cow
D: ground turkey breast w/ peppers or turkey sausage w/ peppers over rice
S: depends on if I'm hungry or not... maybe just tea

Midwife - I was just talking about needing a recovery week, I guess nature might be taking care of it for me! :) How did the 5k go? I thought about you during my run on Saturday!

Symptoms still appear to be above the neck, so it's on today. Yesterday was POP (even threw in an extra 20 min of cardio) but I had to work late so I will be fighting the tired munchies today.

B - French toast, plum
S - Melon
L - Grilled chicken, black beans, grilled squash
S - WW LC Tortilla, turkey, 1/2 tbsp peach jalapeno jam, veggies.
S - Popcorn
D - FiberGourmet pasta, roasted veggies, turkey meatballs
S - NSA Ice Cream, strawberries

E - 60-80 min cardio

The race was ugly.

Ahhhh.....when I was warming up, I looked around and saw so many fit, fast looking people. I thought, "I'm going to be last." Remember this is not a typical 5K, it is part of the University's cross country meet, so all sorts of runners affiliated with the running community went out. It was not a typical fun run. I spied a 6 year old kid warming up, the only person who did not look like a 6 minute mile runner. I felt better. At least I can beat a 6 year old right (hey, I never claimed to be a good person).

So we took off. Everyone passed me. But that's typical. I just kept telling myself to go my pace. That I wouldn't be last. The 6 year old is back there, right. A lady passes me. No one else does. I pass the lady on a hill. I pass a few more people. The course curves. I see the lady I passed. She was LAST. Which meant that I was LAST for awhile!!! Geez!!!! I suffer through the course. My time was a 30:35. Oh man.

And the 6 year old? Yeah, he beat me. ;)

Hey, that is still a better time than I got on my 5k on Saturday... I am a slow slow slow runner... :)

I would have thought the same thing about the 6 year old, though. ;)

I've not been all that accountable for food this week... I've seriously overeaten with the whole head cold thing... hoping to get a little more on track today.

E: none, can't stop coughing every time I inhale deeply
B: coffee, banana
L:a flatout light wrap with 1/3 of a garlic & herb light laughing cow spread on it, turkey, hard salami, tomato, broccoli, sliced jalapeno, salsa and hot sauce, a small amount of leftover mac & cheese, annie's honey, chocolate & chocolate chip bunnies
S: probably more coffee
D: vindaloo curry over wild rice, or whatever my neighbor grills if I'm up for his cookout tonight
