She's impressed with my weightloss and the #s and says we will reassess the situation in three months! I was able to get off my cholesterol med today, and in Dec. I may be able to reduce or get rid of the Blood Pressure Med. I am so excited! She said my eating habits are what she wishes everyone would do and is impressed with my exercise.
She also changed my anxiety med today, and I may be able to taper off in December as well, we will take a look at that. But as of today, I get to finally get off the Lexapro and will be on prozac for a while to start the taper since it is easier to taper off the prozac than it is Lexapro.
I'm so glad that she is happy with all my efforts. Sometimes I wish I could see the whole big picture of how it is all helping my body, I can see the outside and "feel" some benefits but nice to know my liver is getting so much healthier and that other areas of my body are liking the changes as well. The probiotics seem to be doing their job, so will stay on those indefinitely.
I am a very HAPPY girl!:encore:

I feel the same way!! I've had so many health issues my whole life and they just seemed to snowball as I got older and heavier.... now I feel like I've got my 20 year old body back!!

Just curious... what probiotics are you taking, and for what? I'm taking some too and I think they're helping as well! I'm just hoping its not placebo effect... lol

Congrats, again! :)

I take Phillips Probiotics right now. Basically, the good bacteria our bodies need is in probiotics, basically it is the same as in yogurts, acidopholis, etc... and they don't disolve in stomach acid, so they help regulate your digestive system and stop bad bacteria from overpopulation, which basically is candida overgrowth. So that's why she suggested the probiotics, the Leaky Gut seems to have dissipated doc said today. She wants me to stay on them so my digestive system can get regulated, so I don't have to rely on artificial stimulants to be able to go. Anyway, I hope this helps. I will stay on the Phillips, if I need to go a little better concentration, I will go get them at the health food store. You can purchase the Phillips at Walmart...well probably other places, too, but that is where I purchase them.
Long reply, sorry. :D

Yay!!! That's great!

Ryanne, I went for a physical last week and I had a similar experience as yourself. My doctor was SO excited for me having lost so much weight and continuing on this healthy lifestyle. I think she was more excited than I was . Last year, I was positive for high cholesterol and I was worried as I didn't want to take any meds. I am hoping that this past year of losing some of the weight, eating healthy and working out has helped. She can't wait to see my results.

Well, it's good to know that a professional is actually recommending the probiotics... it's so hard to find a doctor that doesn't want to push EVERYTHING chemical, i.e. man made.

I'm taking some acidophollis (sp?) pills right now... I think they're helping a bit. I started having digestive and yeast infection problems years ago after a massive surgery and 2 months of IV antibiotics, and then another surgery a few years after that with the same problems.... so now I'm trying to find a way to fix them without going to the doctor... because nothing they give me seems to help! I do feel better, but that's overall... can't tell what's being affected by what!! It could be anything.... the WAY healthier diet, the vitamin supplements I'm taking, or the probiotics. Maybe I'll give the Phillips brand a chance and see how it works for me, since you said that its working for you. Have you noticed a big difference with your digestive problems?

I haven't noticed a lot yet, doc says to make sure I give them time, but the difference I have noticed is "less" flatulence and no longer have diarrhea. I can't say I am where I need to be yet, cuz I'm not, but that's why she said to give this a while, if I need to I can go to a stronger concentration from a health food store. But since I am taking these, the only other suggestion I have for myself is to make sure I am eating ff organic yogurt every day on top of taking the probiotics. That way I am getting in more good bacteria.
