Hey Chicks! I'm flying through and thought I'd start our new weekly chat thread.

I'm WAY far behind but should be able to catch up soon. I'm on my way out to run errands after weighing in this morning at JC. I had some splurges, but drank all my water and exercised 4 days. I was down 1.6! I got myself a new Chick and a few inches closer to my next goal.

Big Hello to you all. I'm a WW momentum lady of 3months. It's been extrememly slow going,so much so that I put my resignation in w/WW. However I'm not giving up/giving in,I'm turing the boat around and going to give all my effort to the Core plan,(or whatever the chosen name is now) I didn't have a clue about core when I joined,and didn't know I had a option. On my booklet I can hardly see the 'filling' foods' that I've been told are core,with a new name:dizzy:Boy oh Boy ...I will need some help,and Sloanie has graciously invited me here.(thank you :hug:) Nice to meet you all. ~Choices;)

Vickie, thank you for starting this week's thread. I had told Rhonda I'd do it, but I got here late. So thank you again for doing it.

Rhonda looks fabulous. I know I said that the other day but it's worth repeating. She's really doing well and is making healthy decisions. I'm really happy for her.

Vickie, :woohoo: on losing 1.6. You have really mastered JC and it's working beautifully for you. Life is good.

:welcome: Choices. It's great having you join us. We're all in this journey together and welcome other passengers (drivers?)

I'm not new here by any means but have just restarted being serious about losing and about making healthy choices my lifestyle. I go to WW in the AM and will report what the scales are saying.

Hey chickies! Not much going on here. DS started to school today. He had a good first day and said he likes the atmosphere much better than the school he last attended. He has been getting better every day since his break up with his GF of two years. I'm glad to see him coming out from under his black cloud. My eating has been crazy for the last couple of days. I'll try to stay op tomorrow. I have some yummy watermelon to snack on.

Sandra-Good luck in the morning. I know you have been happy about your choices, so I'm sure you will have good news to report.

Vickie-Sorry you've been so busy, but it's awesome to hear about your loss! WTG

First time in a long long time that I'm getting the prize for last/first. I'm up and ready to go to wi at WW then to meet a gf for lunch and girltalk.

I only used 3 WAP's this week. Now isn't that amazing? :lol:

Good Morning Ladies:)

Sorry for being MIA,but I was feeling under the weather the whole weekend long. Still not feeling well,so I'm going to take it easy on my high calorie & low calorie day plan.

Going to try some thing new with my calorie counting I'm going on a semi low carb counting. Not going on any low carb plan, but I'm going to eat low carb breads,instead of the high ones etc.and I found some l/c milk that I will use.Than add more veggies to my meals along with protein and 1/4-1/2 c of WW pasta or brown rice. I have a 3 section glass plate that I found in the back cabinet that I going to use for my dinner & supper meals.


Got on the scale this morning and its up 2-lbs,so I'm back to the 170's again.

VICKIE-Thanks for starting us up on this new month and:woohoo: big congrats on your 1.6 and 35 lb total weight loss.:woohoo:you are really doing great on the JC plan. Happy to know that you found a plan that works for you. Hopefully some ow carbing will help me get the scale moving in the right direction again.

CHOICES-Welcome:welcome2: to the chat. I used to be on the flex for 13 weeks and I gained , and my leader was stunned, and told em to try the core.I started to lose,and thinking that was the plan for me, again I started to gain,left WW & started to count calories instead of points, it was working until now,so I decided to keep my grain carbs down to a minimum,and see what happens.



SANDRA-Its a lifetime commitment to this weight loss,Glad that the WW plans are working for you.

Yes you are amazing, not lonely in your archery but on the core plan also.
Big congrats on your first & last prize you really must be a excellent professional with your Archery.


SLOAN-Oh my DD's children are starting this Thursday,and they are all gong hoo and excited to go back. Don't think My DD feels the same way,she going to miss them,after having them home the whole summer.

You'll get back,some how we are having a beautiful day and week ahead, so I think that has lot to do with good & bad eating habits. When it too hot or too cold I tend go for high cal comfort foods but in the Spring & Autumn months in the fresh crisp air I tend to stay OP no matter what.

Hi everyone. Its a beautiful day today. Already did grocery shopping and now I'm off to Kohls to use some kohl's cash and coupons. Then to get dog food, then taking dd to Wendy's for lunch. Its her last day of vacation -- school tomorrow.

I'm doing well OP, I'm happy with that.

Welcome Choices. I hope Core/Simply filling works for you. I've been working with this WOE for about 5 years. It works well if you cook and plan. If you rely on pre-packaged food you'll eat through your WPA very fast. There are lots of recipes here as well. Good luck!!

Paula, we just had the one visit Saturday. Rhonda is running in circles down here trying to get everything done and everyone seen. I have to tell you I felt pretty important for them to come all the way over Saturday evening. They looked exhausted. Fantastic! But exhausted.

Paula, what grade is dd in this year?

Maryann, I hope you're feeling better.

I met a gf for lunch today after WW. We had a great time and I stayed op. Doesn't get much better than that.

Well, its dd's first day. She is a big 1st grader! Can you believe it. She is very excited. I need to get her dressed and out for the bus by 8:15. I'm not as nervous as last year since she is on the same bus going to the same school. She was full day last year as well. I'll be taking pictures, I'll post some later this week!

Good Morning Ladies:)

Can't believe how beautiful the weather & temps are this morning. I could have the the 60's & 70's all year round.

I didn't do too good at my first attempt of low carbing yesterday,so I must keep in mind that high carb foods are not the way to go if I want to lose weight. Have to find a low carb cookbook, to make my meals if I want to stay on this plan.

PAULA-Went to Walmart yesterday and they changed the whole store around. There's more food than ever, the only thing they don't have is the meat dept.I wondering if they got permission to make a Sam's Club in that store. That will really make the surrounding grocery stores bring down the prices on foods.

Leo has his good days & bad days,we going back to the doctor this Friday to discuss when the treatments will start.


SANDRA-Feeling good today,I think its the sinuses that triggered a headache.Its a possibility the change of seasons, now that's it getting cooler.



SLOAN-OH NO Hay Fever, that horrible,hope the season doesn't last long.Thanks for your kind words,I have been watching my weight every since 1990, & I'm never going to give up,I want this weight to go down. My sister was just diagnosed with diabetes,and she like me went up from a 170 over 200 and I'm heading in the same direction start 145 to 170.My doctor is confused that at my age that I'm not losing weight,he checked my thyroid and that's ok. Its just PUZZLING???? why I can't.

VICKIE-Sorry about your hay fever also,I know what your going though as my mom had a bad case of he seasons allergies.

Good Morning Chicks! I'm off to the treadmill. I didn't exercise yesterday and I was supposed to. I let my allergies be my excuse. Not good. I'm not excusing myself today. I'm going to try to walk Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun. We'll see. I can't walk tomorrow.

Hi Folks!

I'm in Denton, headed to Houston. DH is on his way to Toronto.

Sandra, you ARE special and we were delighted to see you and Curtis. Chickies, Sandra's garden is beautiful!!!!

We have bought a house! We close in Toronto in late September and close in Denton in early October. DH will stay here, I'll work in Toronto until mid-December and stay with a friend. I'll fly back and forth a few times too.

We are so excited, of course..a new phase of life is beginning.

Welcome to the boards Choices. Good luck to you.

I've been pretty good here. I've taken some walks and watched my diet. I haven't had chicken fried steak even once. I had 1/2 cup of ice cream twice. I do not feel deprived either. Of course, how could I, with buying a new house and seeing people I love!

I had the same question, too? I hope Rhonda and Sandra are close together. I'll bet they would have a great time together. I'm still snotty, but feeling a little better. It is amazing how bad your whole body can feel when your allergies are acting up!

Sloan, I guess I got to the wood in time. So far so good. I did have a tiny headache today but it passed.

Good Morning Ladies

Woke up to a brisk day cooling temps are in the air.So refreshing than what we had weeks ago. Second day of L/C and C/C and it working out fine I lost 1 lb, hopefully I'll lose some more by the time Monday W-I comes around.

VICKIE-You're doing great in the exercising dept.I have to start going out doors now that the weather is so nice. I going to walk after my noon dinner.

RHONDA-CONGRATS on buying a new house. That great,where is Denton on the Texas map????????? Wasn't good in Geography.


SLOAN-Like I told Vickie I going out and get some walking done now the the temps are cooler. Leo is till having good day and than bad days. We're going to the doctor tomorrow to see what the lung specialist and he came up with what kind of treatment will be best for Leo.

Hey chicks! I had a very frustrating day with one of my classes. I've got to make some changes. There are 7 out of 16 students that have or need special ed services, so it is very trying!

We have another crisp day for walking and I will be out this morning.Nothing new,except this is my third day on the L/C plan and I'm finding easier to say no to high carb foods.

SLOANE-Sorry that you had a hard day at school. My sister used to be a teacher and she had the same problem with the special ed students.Hopefully your days ahead will become easier as time goes by.


RHONDA-Thanks for the geography lesson,Hope you will be happy with the move like I was when I moved to the Cape. Glad that you stayed OP while attending a family gathering. Going for BBQ ribs this Labor Day Weekend but I'm putting my low carb BBQ sauce on it so it won't be to sweet,so the calorie count will be down and I shouldn't gain this weekend.

I'm now in the Houston area for a few more days. Sandra has answered the geography questions and clarified that I'm not her husband's wife.

I've ready everyone's posts but won't respond individually. I'm on wireless and typing on a small keyboard also.

Sandra, keep doing the right thing. I'm behaving myself totally. I'm eating lots of salads and seafoods. I took a long walk yesterday and might, just might, go to the :ebike: in the hotel today.

I'm having fun, but am ready to get home to Toronto and pack!

Hey y'all. Things were more quiet at school today as about 400 of the students were at a special activity. I have thought through some of the issues I had yesterday, and I think I have a plan. It's really a learning experience with this new curriculum for the students and for me! I am totally off program. I'm looking for that wagon to come back around and pick me up. Sounds like Sandra, Maryann, and Rhonda may already be on it, so hopefully I'm next.

I'm gonna be like Rhonda and say that I, too, have read all of the posts but won't respond to them individually. Just know that I'm thinking about all of you and hope you have a great Labor day weekend. I'll check back in later. TTFN

Good Morning Chicks! It's a damp and cloudy day here in Chicagoland. I'm still trying to get myself to admit that Summer is over here. How sad that we only got into the pool less than 10 times this year. I was so looking forward to summer. We haven't even had the air conditioner on for a week now. That's unheard of here at this time of the year. Oh well!

The other bad part of having the windows open is that it makes me have worse allergies than I'd normally experience. So....those are my woes. I should be thankful. I'm firmly on program and have been exercising. Jim is on the treadmill now and I'm waiting my turn. I had a run in with some Town House Crackers last night. Jim has been eating them for a while and I had 5 of them. They are multigrain and are called Bistro. They are delicious but it was a 300 calorie splurge for me and now I shall have to make up for it. I just got started and couldn't stop. Of course, I also had 2T of Smart Balance Light on them. All and all, I'm pretty proud of myself. I can't remember when my last slip of non planned food eating was 5 multigrain crackers and margarine. Still and all 300 calories is a lot when your total calories are as low as we are all eating. Thankfully, I'd eaten less food in the past couple of days. I hope it makes up for it.

Well, we have no plans for the weekend. I just got a lot of books from the library so I plan to be reading. I got the Hungry Girl book, a WW Flex and Core Cookbook, The Flat Belly Diet, and the WW New Complete Cookbook. So what's up with all of you for the weekend?

Now I'm going to go catch up for the week.

Choices.....WELCOME!!!! I am a dedicated true and true Core girl. I'm currently doing Jenny Craig because sadly I could not learn portion control and satisfaction level on my own. JC is teaching me that. I lost 45 pounds on Core when it was first introduced and then gained it all back plus a few. I know you will be very successful if you are willing to cook for yourself and do what is necessary. I wish you good luck and hope that you hang out here a lot with us. I've been with many of these ladies for 3-5 years and you couldn't ask for a nicer, less snippy bunch of supportive folks. Sloan is awesome. A friend of hers is a friend of ours.

Sandra, I'm going back through the posts for this week. You never told us how you did at WW last Tuesday. Come on GF SHARE!

Sloan, you have a lot of turmoil in your life right now. Just take two or three REALLY deep breaths and try to relax. I'm glad DS is doing better. I'm not a Mom, but I know it must be really hard to see one's child in pain. I hope he focuses on school and soon has another young woman who will be a better match for him. That's really something about all the special needs children. I feel like there are more now than ever. I wonder if it's just because we are better at diagnosing them now? My family is filled with teachers and they feel there are more now for whatever reason. You sound so stressed. I hope it passes soon for you. I've slowed down the wagon and have my hand out for you. See it? Hop back on GF. I LOVED what they used to say at the WW meetings. Don't let a lapse become a collapse.

Mary Ann, sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well and inched back into the 170's. Those two things may be related. Try not to over adjust your eating too much. That's why they tell us not to weigh ourselves more than once a week.

Paula, you sound busy too. Is DD enjoying her new school year? Pictures please, Momma!

Rhonda, I know where Denton is! I just saw it on the weather map yesterday. I'm so excited for you but I also know that it is a BIG deal to move. I only moved 45 miles and it was a big deal. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. One of the tricks will be finding a good moving company. Does that mean that you will retire in December? Congratulations on staying on program. Did you exercise yesterday?

Good Morning Ladies:)

Another great fall day,but every one know that in Sept & Oct is the best months to vacation here if you don't like the beach,or sitting in the sun.

Nothing new, except that we went to the cancer center for an out come of what kind of treat they are going to treat Leo's returning cancer.
Well the lung doctor and the chemo doctor came up with something new.ITS A CHEMO PILL taken every day at the same time without food. Its suppose to kill the cancel cells and leave the good cells alone. He has a 30 day supply with 9 refills,but after 3 months he will have a pet scan to see how the pills are working.He also has to see the doctor once a month for a check up. So it looks great,hope that this pill doesn't bring him any horrible side effects like the last treatment did.


Leo and I are going to watch the golf playoffs that are in Boston this weekend.
Going to celebrate on Monday Having our last BBQ for the season with BB spare ribs.YUMM!! Haven't have them since the beginning of summer.

Lost another .5 this morning so I'm hoping that the 1.5 will hold until Mon.

SANDRA-Don't know where my mind is these days I thought I posted to you. Hopefully the low carbing with counting low & high day calories will work together nicely so I can get those pounds off.


SLOAN-You have lot on your mind with the students in your class.It will work out,and than your be back on the wagon,and you way to losing again.



VICKIE-Thanks I'm feeling lot better and I'm inching down on the scale again.Lost so for 1.5 but I won't count my chickens until Monday W-I. I think the low carbing is working in my favor.

MaryAnn - DH took the chemo pills last summer in conjunction with radiation (prior to surgery) except for some nausea I didn't notice huge side effects like the IV drugs over the winter (he was tired but I figured that was the radiation). :crossed: Hope this takes care of things for Leo.

Thanks Donna,I hope this one works for him as the last one 3 weeks ago made the radiation burns on his chest come back again.Doctor told me that the worst early side effects of this pill would be teenage acne,loose stools,the others that were on the sheet said not all patients respond to late effects these[headaches,nausea,fatigue]

Hey chickies! So far my Saturday has been routine. Took Pippi (my dog) to get her nails and ears done, and now I'm just doing a little housework. Later I plan to work on school work; I made five worksheets last night over anatomy :dizzy: Tomorrow we will have lunch with my sister and BIL and Monday will be quiet. We are still working on the kitchen/LR/DR, so we will probably try to make some progress on that project this weekend. I also need to go to the grocery. Now that I'm writing this all down, I realize that I have a lot to do!

I made an unusual recipe last night. It was not core, so I won't share the recipe. I gathered some persimmons from my yard and made a snack cake. It was very good. I have never made anything with them, so it was definitely a new experience. You have to cook them and force them through a seive to remove the skin and seeds. They smell like apricots when they are cooking, but don't really have much taste but sweetness. The snack cake was very moist and spicy, but was a lot of trouble. I probably won't make anything with them again, but it was fun.

Maryann-I hope the pills do a good job for Leo and don't make him sick. I just love that photo!

Vickie-Thanks for your kind words! We are still on the DS/GF roller coaster. Just when I thought he was moving on, she called him and they are spending some time together today. I just want him to be happy, so I'm trying to keep my mouth shut. She is really a nice person; I just don't want him to be hurt. I'm really excited to hear about your continuing weight loss. You are doing really well. I smiled when I read the part about the crackers. Not laughing at you, but at what I thought when you said you had a run in with them. I pictured you eating an entire sleeve of crackers (that 's what I would have done) then when I read that you had only five, I had to smile! Good for you!

Sandra-Thanks to you (and Vickie) for bringing the wagon for me. Stress and PMS are a deadly combination when I am trying to stay in control. You guys are sweet!

Rhonda-how are things going for you in your travels? I hope all is well!

I did it! I walked longer and further today. 1.5 miles in 36 minutes. I may hurt my arm patting myself on the back.

Donna and Mary Ann, I'm sorry you both have so much experience with chemo and radiation. I hope both of your DH's the best of luck.

Sloan....sorry about DS. You sound like such a good Mom. I would not have been a good Mom. I would especially have had trouble with that keeping your mouth shut thing! Don't work too hard this weekend or you'll be too pooped to pop on Tuesday.

Thank you for asking about wi. I lost 6 lbs. I'm afraid to brag because I have had this tendency to self destruct after around 5 or so lbs. So far I'm hanging in there this week but have used a few WAP's the last 2 days. I guess that's what they're for, though. :lol:

Maryann, a pill a day sounds pretty darned good especially with no side effects. I'll bet your low cal/ low carb days will payoff. Keep us posted.

It's still summer here. We shot a tournament today and did quite a bit of sweating. I think we're ripe.

Sloan, what are friends for if we can't bring the wagon over when needed? You know I'll be posting for the wagon, too, and I know you'll swing it by for me.

Bubble bath and a book? Now that sounds awesome!

I'm off here to be a couch potato. I'm tired. I did all the driving today (over 4 hours worth), shot the tournament, then dug up all my giant elephant ears and took them to my dil. It's "rest" time.

Hi All:

I'm still down here in Houston, headed back to Toronto tomorrow. It has been a wonderful trip, seeing old friends and catching up and making promises to stay in touch. It's been so sweet.

Sandra, I did go through Kemah. This whole place is a mess really. If it's not tacky, it's been clobbered by the hurricane of a few years ago. I hate to dissuade anyone from coming to the area, but it's best to wait a while if it's in your plans!

Sloan, I'm touched by the torment of teenage loves. I married one of my teenage sweethearts, and still have contact with two others. The sweetness of those pleasures, the intensity of the connection is never forgotten. Don't worry too much about your DS getting hurt: he WILL get hurt. Most likely he'll grow from it. That's small solace now, but it's true.

I did not go to the :ebike: but I've been for early morning walks, before the heat and humidity got to be too much. Today I saw my dissertation supervisor of 34 years ago. We're close in age and it was wonderful to see him. Last night I had dinner with a former professor, also close to my same age. We had even dated years ago, and it's good to see him happy and well.

What a great trip..it will be hard to get back to "real" life! But..I repeat myself...I'm ready to pack.

Rhonda, I didn't know about Kemah. We were there several years ago. I'm glad you got to visit with friends. Have a safe trip home. (and start packing)

Rhonda-You are so sweet! You're right, I should not worry about him getting hurt 'cause it may be inevitable. I married my only teenage love, and we've been married for almost 27 years. We did have a couple of years apart, and I still remember how that felt. I hope your trip is uneventful tomorrow. Be safe.

Sandra :hug: and congrats on the loss! You can't self destruct! Who will drive the wagon?

Vickie-Bubble bath and a book are just what you need. Just make sure to sink down in the water enough so that your arm gets a good soak!

I just want to tell you all how much your support and kind words mean to me. It is awesome to post here and know that you chicks really care.

Hi Everyone, I don't know if y'all remember me or will let me come back to be a part of your group...I have been very fickle. A lot has changed in my life since I was here last. I have been separated from my husband for 3 months. I quit smoking 1 1/2 months ago and Fritos seemed to be a good substsitute. I gained 20 pounds during this process, even though I had been going to the gym. I did have my physical a week ago and found out that my thyroid was way off again and she is increasing my synthroid, so hopefully the weight will come off easier this time. I weigh more now I think than I ever did. Christopher (DS) and I went to WW yesterday and I guess we are gonna try the Momentum thing for a bit, but I'm a core girl and he's a points boy (he has trouble with portions).

Vickie & Sandra - I'm so glad that y'all are still here on the forum and it looks like you are doing well.

Everyone else - I hope to get to know y'all better!

Hey Rita :welcome3: I've been here for over a year and love these chicks! If you look at the simply filling foods on the list you got at ww, you'll notice that they are the old core foods. There are only a couple of changes, so if you just do what you already know, you'll be fine.

Good Morning Chicks!!! I had a nice day yesterday. I'm enjoying my books and the bubble bath was awesome.

I've got to eat breakfast (it's getting late) and exercise (my 4th time this week) and then I'll be back to catch up.

Drink your water! It's important to moving all those great simply filling foods through.

Hope everyone is having a safe/sane long weekend. I spent my first week w/o ww,but have kept up my tracking/journaling everything I eat/drink. This wk. I have a app. to see a dietitian,and have a list of questions to ask. I do have thryoid issues (slow,natch) but am on meds for it. I want to know what I'm not doing right,and if s/he will set me up to continue the losing path...(1 -2 lbs.per wk. would make me very happy) I've been honest with my journaling foods,and amounts I eat. If anyone has a question you think I must ask,pls. let me know. I'll report back here w/any info. I receive. Until then...be healthy :hug:Choices~

Choices, I meant to tell you I like your username. You're right. This is all about choices. Let us know what your doctor said. One of mine suggested Weight Watchers. The other played like he was sprinkling dust on me.:dust:

Sandra-I have done better today, eating wise. I know I don't have the credentials to be the driver. I usually need someone to crack the whip on me, too!

I've been working on lesson stuff all day. I did run to the store, but for the most part I have had a pretty quiet day. It is storming now, but I am on battery, so no danger of lightening. I have an unfinished book from this summer, and all this talk of reading makes me want to finish it.

Hope the rest of you chicks have had a good day and have something nice planned for tomorrow!

I read for a bit today andam now just chillin on the sofa.

Sloan, congrats on eating better today. I used 3 waps. I've used about 20 so far this week and am doubting I'll have much if any of a loss this week. Oh,well, at least I'm making healthy choices and am feeling better in my clothes.

Thanks, Sloan. I'm still op. I know I'm not supposed to weigh each day and a good reason for that is weight fluctuates. Mine is zigzagging up and down. :lol: I hope it is on a downward swing in the AM for WI.

Sandra, Sandra, Sandra....6 POUNDS IS AWESOME!! I am SO very proud of you. And you've been on program all week so you'll probably have another good loss. There's just no telling though. Look at me....I was good and stayed the same. We just have to put our heads down and keep on working at our programs. I'm on the scale all the time too. I don't change my behavior....I just need to know what it says.

Rhonda, I'm glad you had such a fun and productive trip. I'm especially proud of you too for not gaining more than .6. That's truly astounding and demonstrates that you really exercised self-control. Now for the packing!

Sloan, you are one of the Chicks now and we take care of our own. It doesn't matter if you've been here for a week or 5 years...like me.

Speaking of time...RITA....of course I remember you. Welcome Home Chickie! I'm still hanging in here too stupid to give up. Since you've been gone I lost 45 pounds and gained it all back plus and am now on the way back down and have lost 36 pounds to date. I'm on Jenny Craig right now because I couldn't learn portion control. As soon as I get a handle on it, I'll be back at WW and eating all Core foods. Sorry about your DH and you. Sad. I'm a stress eater too so I understand the whole frito thing. You can do it and in the process you'll help Christopher too. Just start hanging out here with us again. You know we'll try to help all we can.

Choices, let us know how your weigh in goes and definitely share anything you learn from your Dietitian. Sometimes I think I could be one myself but who'd go to a fat Dietitian?

My Doctor said any program was good if I'd follow it. Grrrr....I wanted to crack him. Actually, he said he was great with WW and ok with JC and Nutrisystem. He's not a fan of the processed foods but thought it would be good for a jumpstart.

Jim and I just emptied a bunch of junk out of the basement that has been there since the last cancelled garage sale. We still have more stuff to get rid of. I'm on a mission to declutter. Our house is big but we were running out of room. We have too much stuff we don't need or use. Like fat.

I'm gonna go snap some fresh green beans for dinner. Tonight I'm having chicken fajitas. They are yummy. I saute some mushrooms and add them in. http://www.jennycraig.com/food/cuisine/dinner/detail/30/

First of all my first week out of WW meetings,and I lost a lb.;)yea. I'm still tracking,journaling my food and drink,but not doing points. I'm very happy about it.
What the d & i spoke about. I took in ALL my food journals from june,all the vititmins I take daily,and a list of questions. Like,why do some 'diets' tell me to eat bread,grains,etc. and some don't,some say drink milk,some don't..all the confusing contradictions. And WHY,oh why am I losing so flippin slo?:?:
Her answers surprised me. First she looked at all my health scores,blood tests etc.and what I weighed 8yrs.ago. read all my food lists,and said 'I think your eating excellent',all the veggies are good,etc.Then she said in the last 8yrs.I've lost over 20lbs. AND quit smoking! So you weigh less,and don't smoke,and eat healthy...Wow! I guess I didn't look at it that way. She helped me see a larger picture,rather than just the numbers from wk. to wk. Okay, so why the slow loss...she said it,(like we don't already know this) Excercise...arobic,and? weights. I walk almost every day,but I need to move more...as we age...yadayada.
So I'm making plans to get back into the gym,and to stick with it.
Also not to go on too long here,she continued saying some people can eat all the bread and grains they want,and they stay feeling full a long time...some (like me) get hungry a hr. after I eat cereal...so that means what I need is different,and we all have to find what it is that 'works' for us,and stick with that. Their is no ONE way to eat for everybody. I know protein is the one thing that keeps me satisfied longer,so I need some of that w/ea.meal. Any questions,pls. ask...keep truckin gals..
