Looking Good, Feeling Great - New hairstyle help needed!

Well, in a moment of temporary insanity, I told my 19 year-old hairstylist that I was ready for a "change".
I let her pick the style, and an asymmetrical bob was the result.
It is definitely a style that needs to be "pulled off". Particularly if you are a 50 something chickie.
So, what are your thoughts? Should I head back to school this week with my "new do"?
Thanks for your help!

I didn't see a "It is a great haircut and you look gorgeous" option so I said yes, why not?
Really, It is very youthful and I love it.

If you like it, I would say ROLL with it! I once got my hair completely Victorian Beckham when I was 8 months pregnant! I cried right there in the chair. Not only was I fat as hell, my head now looked like a basketball.

Cape Breton Chick, Sunshine, Julie, Leah - thanks! I appreciate your comments!!!
Thighs  I shouldn't laugh, but I've been there, more than once. Thanks for your post - you made my day!
Bargoo, that really is the question, isn't it. And the answer is, "Yes, I think I do". I just don't look like me
And, whoever voted "maybe:, and "what were you thinking", thank you! I really appreciate your honesty!

I forgot to mention that I am really jealous of your straight hair :|
Funny you should say that, because I'm jealous of your curly hair!
I've had so many bad perms over the years, that I FINALLY decided to stop fighting it and find styles that work with fine straight hair.

I don't know why my hair is so curly. All my life it was straight. In my early 20s I got a couple perms and now I am left looking like Mr. Kotter :(

Most hairstyles are not permanent. I say that you should give it a try for a while. I think it looks great and super fun--something us older gals need once we hit "a certain age".

I like it, too! When you said "asymetrical bob", I was thinking that it was going to be really dramatic but I think that it's just asymetrical enough to be age-appropriately hip. :) I think it's cute and you should give it a try; you can always have it evened up later if you like.
The girl who does my hair is only 27 (I am 48). I give her parameters to work within, and other than that, she has free reign. I do it that way on purpose because I don't KNOW what's current so she keeps me from looking like a little old lady (hopefully). I think it's great that you've got a fresh, young lady cutting your hair and she did a good job!

losermom, dragonwoman, & Windchime - thanks for sharing your thoughts. I DO tend to get stuck in a rut with my hair and my glasses. One of my goals this year was to update my look while still being age-appropriate.
Which leads me to Gary's comment -

if you're feeling uncomfortable, or like its age inappropriate, just get the other side cut so its not asymmetrical.
do whatever feels comfortable to you!

I think it looks very cute on you! I agree that you'll look very 'hip' at school and the kids will love it--the girls anyway, you know boys-they don't notice things like hairstyles:dizzy:! I think you look great:D
