Looking Good, Feeling Great - dark menstrual blood? TMI

so this isnt about looking good or feeling great, but i wanted some opinions. ive been feeling TOM coming up for a few days, this morning i started normally. i put in a tampon and didnt change it til just now. it was mostly still white except the top which had very dark brown/almost black blood. has anyone ever had this before?

Yes. It's old blood and nothing to worry about. Your flow should change color soon.

are you on the pill? mine does that sometimes when i'm taking birth control, but it's just de-oxygenated old blood so it's no biggie. it just looks icky.

It's normal. Mine is usually pitch black on the last day of my cycle or even right at the beginning.

oooh ok thanks gals. yeah ive heard of that at the end of the period before, but this seems to be right before its starting. hmm, maybe its leftover from last cycle?
