Hi lovelies,

My goodness, lots of activity and new faces last week. I have read the thread, but so much was happening, I'm going to apologise for not doing personals today. But welcome to all the newbies! Fantastic to see you!

Anyway, last week was busy for me and I'm hopefully back now and will try and post more often. It was a good week - bonuses were paid so I did have a bit of a shopping splurge - 2 new tops, a dress, some trousers and I've got a skirt on layby as well. I also bought a new phone and a few little things as well with the bonus.

And there was food. Lots of food. I ate out Friday lunch and dinner, Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch. Honestly, that's more than I eat out in 2 months, all in 1 weekend! Of the meals, the Friday dinner was the pick - it was a Morrocan restaurant and I loved it! So going back there again. And it was healthy too - but we'll ignore the half a bottle of red wine I drank, won't we. ;)

This week, it's back on plan week. Monday is in the bag and it's been a good start, now I just have to keep it up for the rest of the week. I went to the gym first thing - and finally the street lights are off when I leave the gym! Yay! Tomorrow, I've got the weekly appointment with yummy evil trainer - lets see what torture he puts me through then!

I did better yesterday, not great, but certainly better. Today will be EVEN better!!!!

I am SO tired this morning...stayed up way too late last night, it will be an early to bed night for me tonight!!!

Good morning, Friends.

Went grocery shopping yesterday and I've planned my calories and menu for the day. This is the first time I've planned my day in quite a while. I see weight loss in my future! I overcame my first hurdle this morning. The sugar said "Hello" when I reached into the cabinet for my Splenda. I shut the door on it and pretended not to hear. Some things don't deserve good manners! :D

Nicolen - We missed you last week! So glad to hear that you were able to enjoy your bonus.
MJ - I'm so very tired today, too. One of these days, I'll learn to not stay up so late and sleep in so late on the weekends. It really makes my Monday mornings extra rough.

So, here is my menu for today. I was very surprised to see that it was only 1530 calories as it looks like a large volume to me.

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, toast with smart balance and a cup of Chocolate Silk
Snack - Yoplait Chocolate Raspberry yogurt
Lunch - Roasted Turkey Breast Lean Cuisine
Snack - Clementine and cheese stick
Dinner - Barbecue Chicken, lima beans, sauteed yellow squash and onions
Snack - Toast with 2 tbs of peanut butter

Had a good weekend, only overate once. Homemade marinara sauce is evil! Of course, I only make it a few times a year, so I guess I'll live. The sauce isn't bad - it's just veggies - but the bread and pasta is another story entirely. :-)

Today is:
B - 2 slices toast with peanut butter
S - Yogurt with a little granola
L - big salad
D - thin veggie pizza
S - 100 cal fudge bar
E - 1 hour walk

I had a good weekend. Stayed on plan, although Friday night I ate some stuff for the wrong reasons (not for hungry), so I was disappointed in myself for that. But at least I was able to control myself and stay in my calories.

I've been eating a lot of high sodium foods this week, which isn't necessarily bad as long as I'm under my calories, but it does seem to show up in water weight on the scale, which is can be discouraging even though I know it's not fat weight.

Today I'm having:
B: Yogurt, Fiberone, Veggie bacon strips
S: Raspberries
L: Couscous and Chickpea Salad
S: Blueberries
D: Butternut Squash lasagna, zucchini and red peppers on the side
S: WW ice cream

I just put it in my daily plate, and it's 1501 calories.

Happy Monday! I'm not really a Monday person, but I'm faking it today. I had a decent weekend. I had a few splurges, but also biked for an hour with hills and took a couple walks. I can't believe I made it out of the weekend with weight lost for the week. It's motivation to keep it up.

B: I still can't figure it out. maybe a tomato?
L: leftovers. I made a pot of bacon, green beans, and potatoes
D: vegetable stir fry with tempeh

paris--I did the same thing yesterday...I ate some pretzels, which tasted good until I hopped on the scale this am....

Wendy--great job w/ the exercise this weekend! I'm not a monday person either and today is especially hard for some reason!

Hi again! Just popping in before I go to the gym. I WILL do my planned workout...just needed to remind myself of that, I think. I have to stop at the store on my way home, but I will NOT be tempted by snacks!

I am still really tired....guess I need to get to bed earlier tonight!

nicolen- back on the wagon today! We'll overlook the wine ;)

girlygirl- I went grocery shopping yesterday too! It was MUCH needed. I can't seem to stop making chili in the middle of summer I love it! :D

traci-I feel ya on the pasta. I used to eat 2+ cups and make myself sick and bloated, now I eat 1 cup and can barely finish it. thank god for that internal shut off valve that I seemed to have recently aquired cuz I can NOT stop with pasta normally. ha.

paris-I feel ya on the water weight, my rings are tight today and I haven't been drinkiing enough, time to get on that! just the bare minimum (8 cups) but have been sweating a lot during exercise!

wendy- good job on the exercise!

mj5- have fun at the gym! :D

I'm off to exercise myself in a few here.

Well, I worked out today. It was a good workout, but I wasn't feeling like being there. I hate it when I'm like that. I know it stems from having my weigh in and showing a .8 gain. I know that isn't much, but it was enough to put me in a bad mood. Yes, gains happen and staying the same happen... and I'll get over it. But not today. :)

Right, I am sore. Very sore. Yummy evil trainer worked me very hard today - squats, lunges and several horrible exercises involving a medicine ball. Nasty, nasty stuff and if I'm sore now, what am I going to be like tomorrow?

I've got the day off tomorrow - got told yesterday that I had to use it or lose it by the end of the month. I'm not going to do much - there's a few things to do at home and I might go to the beach since it's supposed to be 19 degrees Celsius tomorrow. This isn't right for August - that's the sort of temperature we'd see in November!

MJ, how was your workout - and your visit to the shop?

Rhonda, go you for ignoring the sugar - and that menu sounds fabulous for just over 1500 calories!

Traci, I agree with you on the pasta and bread. They're 2 of my weaknesses as well!

Paris, good job on staying within your calories, even if your food choices weren't the best.

Wendy, awesome stuff with the exercise and weight loss!

Lottie, go you with the exercise! Brilliant!

Diane, I know what you mean about not wanting to be at the gym. And 0.8 is nothing - it'll be gone by next week.

Hi Chicks....summer work is over (yay) - and we had a wonderful three days in Michigan with my DS, DIL, and GS. :D My GS is so fun at 2 1/2!!! He calls me 'B'. (love it)

Phew! I made it through on-plan day 1. I'm really looking forward to another on-plan day. It wasn't an easy day. Not getting enough sleep the nght before and withdrawing from sugar made me extremely fatigued. I went to bed early and feel very refreshed this morning. And, no middle-of-the-night acid reflux! Overeating is so much fun, huh? :dizzy:

Today is a 1700 calorie day:

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, toast with Smart Balance spread, cup of chocolate silk
Snack - Strawberry whipped yogurt
Lunch - Leftover barbecued chicken and lima beans
Snack - Apple and 2 tbs of peanut butter

heya ladies. I met a girl on spark who just moved in about a block away from me. We met up today and walked for 90 mins and she wants to do it mon-saturday, I plan to start running in about 3 weeks so hopefully the walking 6 days a week for three weeks will help prepare me fo rthe C25k program. :)

Hi everyone! I started to post a few times, but well.....work kept getting in the way today.

I did not go the gym today--it was SO gorgeous, I came home and took the dogs for a walk instead. We all had a great time! I did go to the gym yesterday....it felt GREAT to get back into that routine!

Diane--GOod for you for working out anyway. Stupid scale!

nicolen--Yea, you might be sore tomorrow...sounds like a great workout, though!

Beverlyjoy--So glad you had a great visit! Your GS sounds adorable!!! Such a fun age!

It's been a lovely day. I got up late - although I think I'm seriously sad if 7am now counts as a sleep in! I haven't done that much - walked down to the shopping centre and treated myself to a trim latte and some people watching, a bit of window shopping and forgot to buy the concert tickets which were the reason I went there in the first place! :shrug: Such is life - I'll get them on the way home tomorrow.

Anyway, it's been a good day, if very quiet, so there's not much to report here. Except I'm trying a new recipe for dinner tonight - salt and pepper chicken, which I'm going to have with some brown rice and stirfried veggies. The brown rice is cooking at the moment, so we'll see how it all goes. Tomorrow it's yummy evil trainer and his **** class. I just have to keep telling myself that it's doing me good.

Beverly, I'm pleased you had a great visit with your family. They're so cute at your grandson's age, aren't they?

Rhonda, sounds like you had an awesome on-plan day! Brilliant!

Traci, how was the bike ride? Did you manage to go?

I made it through on-plan day #2. I'm on a roll! :D I'm still feeling pretty fatigued. Last night, I slept through the night! I never do that. I'm hoping it's simple a case of sugar withdrawal.

Lottie - that is so cool that you found a friend to walk with. As soon as it cools down a bit more, I'll be dragging Hubby outside for evening walks.
Nicolen - How was your new recipe?

Today, I'm eating the same menu as yesterday. It as so good that I decided it needed a repeat (and, I don't want to waste the leftovers!)

nicolen--That's funny....7am is sleeping in at my house too...the dogs still need to go out, even on days off, we have one 'lazy' dog that would LOVE to sleep in and one who is very schedule oriented who is still up at 5am--even on the weekends and days off...Mmm, your new recipe sounds good!

Ok, so I totally blew it last night w/ food and I am paying for it today--I feel SO icky. I was tired and stressed out from work--not reasons, but excuses. I knew better--even when I was ordering pizza--I had healthy food in the house, just didn't want to cook it.

This morning I put on a shirt that I bought at the beginning of the summer. It's not too small, but certainly doesn't fit as well as it did when I bought it. NOT ok w/ me!!!!

I have to stop this RIGHT NOW. I have been messing around far too long. I know what I need to do and I need to do it, instead of half-heartedly doing it.

I need to stop thinking that the junky food is ok sometimes--it's not, because sometimes leads to all too often for me.

I am having knee surgery soon. That will help, BUT losing weight is going to help too.

I have to stop thinking that I am too tired to exercise or do the things that are healthy for me....I am too tired because I am NOT doing those things!!!!

I am a priority, eating healthy is a priority for me, my time at the gym is my "me" time.....when lottie said "have fun at the gym the other day.....that struck a chord in me....I do have fun at the gym--I like going to the gym! There I said it! Yes, I still have to drag myself there sometimes, until I get into my 'groove', but once I am there I enjoy my time there. It's a time for me to focus on me for a change.

This morning I pulled out my 'reward' calendar. I am wiping it clean and starting fresh as of today. I have a very pretty lip gloss that I would LOVE to wear....but not until I 'earn' it....it's a bare escentuals lip gloss in pomegranite (even sounds healthy doesn't it, LOL!!!!)

Phew, I feel better getting that all out! If you are still reading, you deserve some kind of a reward or something! LOL!!!!

I have my healthy lunch packed. I am drinking water already. My gym clothes are in the car--arms/shoulders and cardio tonight, and a healthy dinner planned. If it isn't raining, I would like to get the dogs out for a quick walk, too--they are getting a little pudgy, which isn't good for them either!

Just finished packing my bag. Long wkend motorcycle trip with friends. There is a party and casino stops along the way...lol. I'm not a big gambler, spend more time ppl watching but some of the gals in the group LOVE to gamble. Should be a good time, my stress level can use a good break!! Weather is scheduled to be on the cooler side with rain... we'll see. Hope to keep my food intake reasonable... I'm on a tight budget so that will help!!

Well, I had another half day today - we ran out of work, so they asked who wanted the time. I've got a ton of leave, so may as well use it while the weather's nice, right? So I came home at lunchtime.

Funny story - the boss worked for half a day because he's going to Australia tomorrow morning. After he left, I looked over at his desk and his computer was still on and logged in. We did log him out - but not before making sure we had evidence that he didn't log himself out. We're going to have so much fun when he gets back. This, after all, is the man who's been giving me a hard time all week because I didn't log my phone off on Monday night....

Anyway, I did yummy evil trainer's class this morning and my tummy hurts. Lots of ab work and I'm going to be sore tomorrow. But being sore is proof that I'm working hard. Unfortunately I mae the mistake of telling him that I wasn't too sore yesterday after Tuesday's workout. Kill me now...

Rhonda, doesn't it feel fantastic to actually sleep through the night? The recipe was quite nice, but I overdid the pepper just a touch and it was a little too peppery even for me. That's OK. I know for next time.

MJ, go you! I'm the same - I have to refocus back on food. I've got into a couple of bad habits that I'm going to break - including having a takeaway on a Friday night, and that takeaway is usually fish and chips. Not any more.

Lottie, go you with the exercise! Awesome stuff!

Hi Friends,

Today is a hectic day, but I wanted to touch base and let you know that I'm still on-plan. :D Went to the grocery store last night and I didn't buy my usual candy bar and Pepsi for the ride home. Tonight, I have a homeowners's association meeting. It is being held at someone's house who usually has awesome snacks for her get togethers. I don't know if this meeting qualifies, but I've already decided to take my diet rootbeer and eat nothing while I'm there.

put for down between bites
aware eating
write down food/journal

MJ - SO GLAD you set yourself straight and are planning for good days. You CAN do this.

my ex gf is in town, we had lunch. it was really nice seeing her. I miss her. :(

2 whole OP days in a row! YIPPEE!!!! BUT....ugh, my knee hurts so bad! It was fine on Monday after lifting weights (legs/back) it was fine Tuesday after taking the dogs for walk, it was fine Wed after lifting weights (arms/shoulders), but today it is swollen and hurts like it hasn't hurt in a long time....the countdown is on for surgery--I can't wait!!!!

Tonight I tried on some of my jeans.....yikes.....NOT pretty! They still fit, but not terribly comfortably. So now I have more of an incentive to get myself moving again. At least I am on the right track--one day at a time, of course.

Good Morning!!! SO glad it's Friday! It has been a heck of a week....lots going on at work, not good stuff, but hopefully we will come out on top....still remains to be seen....

lottie--sounds like you had a nice lunch!

sunshine--mmm, I'm going to check out that recipe later. I have been looking for new dishes to try....kinds getting sick of the same stuff over and over..

I forgot to mention that yesterday I went to the farmers market. I found LOTS of yummy stuff AND ended saving $ on our grocery bill since I also went to get groceries last night. Found some awesome yellow beans--steamed them last night for dinner...they were SO good! Also bought watermelon, cantalope, radishes, cauliflower, cucumbers.

A few of you have been talking about the Arnold's sandwich thins (I think that's what they are called), so I bought some last night to use as buns w/ our burgers. We had had 'regular' buns in the house, but after dh compared the labels (I had already done that in the store).....he fed the 'regular' buns to the birds and decided he would use the sandwich thins too. They are SO good!!!

AND...........the scale is finally moving in the right direction! YIPPPEEEE! Not my official weigh in day, yet (that's Monday) and I'm not at my ticker weight, yet...close, but not yet, but it's FINALLY moving. Funny how exercise and making healthier food choices will help that happen! LOL!!!

Today, it's raining and my teen decided to have a bad attitude and start my day off on the right foot....but, I'm still on-plan!

MJ - I can't get into my skinny jeans at all. I was wearing them 6 months ago. I get very aggravated with myself sometimes, but I can't think about it. I must move forward. One day, those skinny jeans will be too big and I'll be wearing skinnier jeans!

Good morning, everyone! Today I have to get in a good walk. Job interviews the last two days have really cut into my time. :-) Can you imagine how inconvenient a JOB is going to be??? Food has been perfectly on plan, though, so I'm good with it. Walked downtown to the farmer's market last night and got some green beans and a small watermelon. Of course one of the shops was having a wine and cheese tasting, so I got a bottle of wine, too. Think I'll use it to celebrate a 20 mile bike ride on Saturday.

Today is:
B - 2 slices wheat toast with peanut butter
L - big veggie salad
D - ?? maybe eat out with my DH

Not putting snacks in - haven't been eating them. Just not hungry and that's something I'm not going to fight.

I've been sick the last few days, so I haven't been posting much. Some kind of flu bug that really sidelined me. I'm taking time off from working out, but I think I'll feel good enough by Monday to go back. So, not much to talk about for me! Just dropping in and saying hi!

I have had three solid OP days so far. It feels good. I even had the perfect opportunity to make an excuse NOT to go to the gym yesterday and I didn't do it....I went because I wanted to. Still have a long way to go before I find my 'groove', but certainly headed in that direction!

Today I have lots do around the house...fun, fun....cleaning, cutting up fruit and veggies, bills, and figure out what I am going to do for exercise. I am thinking one of my dvd's that I haven't done in a while--just to mix it up a bit. I was going to go for a walk, but it's supposed to rain all day, so I probably won't do that.

Dinner is all planned--grilled pork chops, roasted broccoli and cauliflower (I haven't made this in SO long....can't wait!), and salt potatoes--minus the salt ;). If I go out, I'll stop and get some beans or something to steam, instead.

Ok, I have rambled on and on....long enough! I need to get myself moving. A little more coffee and I'll be good to go!

hello ladies. it's been rainy here lately. I'm using my light box cuz it is SO dreary, don't want a dip in mood cuz of all the rainy days!

might not be able to go on my daily walk. :(

sunshine--mmm, I'm going to check out that recipe later. I have been looking for new dishes to try....kinds getting sick of the same stuff over and over..

It turned out very well with the few adjustments I made. The kids loved the wraps and the choices they had to add to them. I'm going to have the last one for lunch today. That's if one of the kids doesn't get to it first. ;)

I'm going to be home alone tonight for a while. I haven't taken anything out for dinner yet. I'm going to the supermarket later so I may buy something for a simple meal of one. Whatever I do, it will something legally on plan. ;)

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday was a great day! I was able to get lots done AND stay on plan! I even resisted my gm's home made brownies...not sure how, but I did it! Well, I know how....I just kept telling her no thank you and stayed completely out of the kitchen!!!!! Phew! That would have gone bad, quickly for me!

Today is my famous 'lazy day w/ the dogs'....lucky us, dh gets to join today too! He actually has a Sunday off! YIPPEE!!! AND extra lucky us, he is roasting a turkey breast....he does a much better job than I do w/ poultry (it's ok by my....I LOVE it when he cooks for me!) I'll steam the yellow beans and cook some fresh corn.

Well chicks...I made it through a sane day of food yesterday. I am so grateful. I am trying to do that again today.

aware eating - trying to feel the food going down to my tummy. Maybe I'll learn to 'feel fullness'.

Breakfast - egg white scramble with ketchup, pnb toast, tangerine
Lunch - boca bacon, lettuce & tomato with lite mayo on lite bread, green bean salad
snack - cheese toast
dinner - grilled turkey loin, lettuce and tomato salad, grilled zuccini. brown rice
snack - sf cocoa, cinn. toast

I've spent the last two weeks really focusing on what I'm eating, making a real effort to avoid what's in the office lounge (only failed once, but oh that bakery dark chocolate cupcake was heavenly), and trying to be a bit more active. I'ts gone well and I'm down five pounds in these two weeks. I know it's that "easy off" first weight and this next week is going to be more of a struggle, but it's nice to have a dancing veggie back in my sig line here.

Work and home have been crazy, but I'm still around, reading a lot, just not posting much.

Didn't get the bike ride in yesterday - DH had to work - so we're going today. I was a good girl and didn't open the wine since I didn't ride the bike!

Hi chicks, just wanted to check-in and say "hello"! IVe had a lot of travel this month and busy getting kids back to school, etc. I just haven't been able to get in here and post my menus on a daily basis. I realized I have to streamline my tracking process - I was posting menus here, tracking calories on fitday, plus tracking exercise elsewhere, and I've been working on budgeting, so I was tracking spending on another board. It just got to be too much, so I streamlined everything into one tracking document, and I hope that'll work better.
But the good news is that I have been doing well! I decided to take another scale vacation. I took my measurements, and will check those once a month to see progress for a while. I've been focusing on my exercise and making some progress there.
Anyway, wanted to see how you all were doing and let you know that I haven't fallen into a vat of chocolate. I will pop in here when I can to keep up with you all, but not fooling myself anymore that it'll be every day.
