Default Quick update from France

So I don't have lots of internet access here; my host mother doesn't have it, so I am sitting here in the McDonald's(ha) using their free wifi. We're in Nantes right now, which is in Brittany and it's awesome here. Very pretty.

As far as weight loss goes, I have been eating croissants, chocolate, lots of bread, one dinner my host mother made nothing but crepes and I've lost about 4 pounds from Thursday to Monday and for the week, my scale says I've lost around 10 lbs(down to about 101 kg or 223 pounds) but I don't know how accurate that is. Maybe my scale is weird; it did automatically switch to kilograms. The pair of jeans I mentioned that were very tight fit a lot better now though and the muffin-top is much smaller. No matter what my crazy scale says, I've lost weight. So much walking here too! 3-4 hours are spent walking on average for me, although that will go down once we do less tours and more time in class.

I hope all you are all doing well! Je crois que vous pouvez perdre beaucoup des poids!

Good going Peachy! There are a lot of other diets in the world that seem to work for other cultures, although on paper you wonder how. So I totally think it's possible for you to have dropped.

Of course, once you've figured out how you got to eat all that stuff and drop weight you have to share the secret! (The walking???)

Way to go. Enjoy your time in France. Losing weight on "croissants, chocolate, lots of bread,", my dream diet! I would gain tons of weight. Must be all the walking that has you losing. Of course, I have always heard that the French are a small people.

Have a great time!

I think it's the size of the croissants and such; they are quite small here. And yes, there is a lot of walking here, especially up and down the stairs, plus I jog 30 min 5x a week.

I am quite a fan of the French diet. The food is all different here, with a lot less preservatives and chemicals and lots of fresh food. My host mother loves vegetables!

Thank you for the kind words and for those of you about to visit France, it's wonderful! If you can, go to Nantes it is an amazing city.
