Mini-Goal Photo Album - I actually started crying...

Today I was sitting here thinking about my weight loss, and feeling a little depressed at myself and still not happy with the weight I am. I decided to go through some of my mothers computer pictures and see if i could find some old pictures of myself. Wow... Let me just tell you I completely lost it when I saw some of these pictures. (Some of them I had never even seen) I couldn't believe my eyes. I was so unhappy and in a bad relationship, but how could I let myself get THAT big? I'm still not where I want to be but I know I will never go back to that old me EVER AGAIN. I couldn't be happier right now and I know im moving in the right direction and I hope to one day be posting pics under the GOAL album. So here are a few pics of me before and few recent pics. So far total of 77lbs... even typing that just blows my mind.. THATS A SMALL PERSON!

Your skin looks a lot healthier and so does your hair. I have to say, you look gorgeous now. You also look more youthful or something, I just can't put my finger on it. There's just something so drastic about how different your face looks, and I have to tell you lady, you're inspiring! What was your weight before you started? You really look amazing and please don't be discouraged. 77 pounds is a LOT of weight! If I lost 77 pounds, I'd be at like 132 and be around my goal. and I'd be ecstatic! You should be too! You're never going back to your old self again.

EDIT: So I looked at your after pictures, and you're smiling with your eyes and just look so happy. your eyes are lit up.

Thanks guys! It really means alot to me that I can inspire people to lose weight. I wont lie.. It is INCREDIBLY hard to do, but as long as you stick to it anyone can do it. I have my on days and I have my off days thats just how it is. I lost it all by mainly just watching my calories. I havent been restricted to any crazy diet.. just exercise more eat less. I have done many diets in the past and simple math is all you need. Calories in and calories out. I started brisk walking for exercise then eventually added on biking and doing charity events(bike rides, walks) and a little of C25k.(Im slacking on that right now) I have done a few workout tapes like the biggest loser cardio max and JM's cardio kick box, and I just recently tried Turbo Jam (Im still deciding if i like it) The goal for me was to just do SOMETHING active.. I liked to change it up and try something new once in a while as doing the same video got tiring. I always strived to just push myself to workout no matter what. I still have a ways to go but I cant wait to get to the finish line!

You look absolutely amazing - your skin is glowing and your smile speaks for itself !! 77lbs is a massive loss, I hope I can get there one day too

You look amazing! I honestly think there is a connection between being in an unhealthy relationship and weight gain. I too went through this with my last ex ( it didn't help that he was 300 lbs and didn't have a healthy lifestyle)...Perhaps when we're stressed we eat more..self esteem is much lower, depressed, etc. I am now in a happy and healthy relationship and I guess that gave me the push i needed to become healthy again.

hey girl !!! its simply incredible ........ u look gorgeous :) congrats on ur achievement !!! can u tell me how much time did it take to lose this much weight ?? i have to lose about 30 lbs and even m not on any proper diet just the simple calorie in and calories out thingy !! and as for workouts i am presently doing the 30 DS (level 1) did u stop all forms of refined sugar and completely stop some particular foods like potatoes white rice etc or just did portion control ??

Pink- It has taken me a while to lose it, guessing I would say probably a year and a half. I have mainly been striving to make this a lifetime change and not a quick fix. I live at home and I don't buy the groceries so I have to make do with what I get. (being from the south where everything is FRIED) My biggest thing has always just been portion and exercise. I have not cut out a lot of the "white" foods but I do not eat a lot of them. I eat mainly chicken and fish and veggies with the occasional potatoes. I'm not a huge rice fan so that really hasn't been much of an issue for me atleast. I also haven't cut out all sugar. I just try to avoid any un-needed sugary as possible. I love to cook so I like to try new things, even though sometimes there not the best choice for me I just eat less of it. You have to learn to make choices you can live with not something that you just torture yourself to get to your goal and then stop. Good luck with the 30DS I just started it a week ago myself and it has helped me drop 4lbs... Good luck! :) Slow and steady wins the race!

PAM ~ I agree with LOOKINGFORME -- you have already achieved several mini-goals (7 x 10 lbs); and very soon you will reach your biggest goal (your goal weight), then on to maintenance ...

That is how I am looking at it this time and have joined weight watchers because they seem to center their program around this and it gives me the accountability I need!!

It's always an inspiration to hear other's stories. I keep that fat pic of myself on my desk where I see it all day long. It's a huge reminder of what I did to myself. I've done the same as you and made the change to better eating and exercising. I tried every crash diet and crazy diet out there to lose maybe 10, 20 or maybe even 30 lbs and the second I stopped, it came right back on.

I've written this on other threads but I just want to share with you what my doctor told me about weight loss and what he's seen over the years. He said that in all his years of practice (and he's just about ready to retire) he's never seen but two of his patients be successful at weight loss on their own. I am proud to say I'm one of them. So I want you to know that you have accomplished something very difficult and something very few people manage to do. Feel proud of your success and know that you look absolutely incredible!!!!!

I just had to click on your pics thread because we are the same height and I had picked my goal weight just so I could be a normal BMI, but had no idea what that weight would really look like on someone my height. I don't remember ever weighing under 195 so your pics were a huge motivator. Seriously you are a inspiration to me to keep it going.

nine- I'm currently a loose 12/M I have rather large hips and even at goal I'm probably only going to be a 10, but I am happy with that.

That's fantastic! I have no aspirations to get below a 10... The idea of single diget sizes at my height seems a little crazy - Although I've seen it happen! (Not to me, ever, but other people! Haha). Anyway. I was just curious to make sure I wasn't being unrealistic in hoping to be somewhere along the lines of a 12/10!

Ink- I have actually been struggling with this lately. Im not sure If 160 is a possible goal for me. I eat 1400 calories daily and cant seem to get any lower. I am fairly content with my size right now but always struggle with my hips and thighs. Maybe one day i will learn to love them :/
