Can anyone talk to me about boobs? I had huge boobs when 200 lbs and now they are loose, so saggy and I want to get implants but really want to avoid a lift or skin removall on them, I'm afraid the doc will tell me he needs to remove some skin along with putting the implant in.... anyone had just implants w/o a lift and want to let me know how that went?

i have been saving up money to get a lift after i reach my goal weight because my boobs are similarly weird, lol. why do you want to avoid skin removal? implants are lighter than regular boobage, so they dont weigh you down as much and unless you want droopy implants, they'll probably have to lift you up too.

happening--I could have written your post myself..once a DD, I am now between and A and B. I hope to have my implants next summer.

I would recommend researching doctors in your area and having a consultation or two. Sometimes doctors will charge a nominal fee--many times though they will waive it--so ask!

I don't want a lift because I don't want the scarring... I picture the anchor scar.

They have new better procedures, there's a lollipop lift or something like that. It's been a few years since I had my implants, so don't remember all the particulars but you should talk to several doctors as someone else suggested.

My sister has implants and got them without a lift, she now has what she calls a double bubble. They are nice and perky at the top, but then saggy skin below...kind of like a turkey neck, but on her breast.

OH my god, that's not good! You would think the doc would reccommend against not having a lift, he'd warn her that that is going to happen?!?!

He did recommend a lift, but she didn't want obvious scars or the extra pain/recovery time. I should also add, she was not at her goal yet when she had the surgery and has lost probably 20 pounds since the procedure was done, so that didn't help the boob situation any.

Lori, your sister's additional weight loss after the procedure probably added to the double bubble problem. I'm so sorry that happened to her. Is she going to have the revision surgery?

Double bubble can happen in anyone, even a person who didn't need a lift in the first place, but is more common in women who could have used a little lift. It is when the implant drops in such a way that the natural breast tissue sags in front of it,causing the appearance of a second crease. Common if the implant drops below the level of the natural crease. Sometimes happens with larger implants if the crease has to be lowered to fit the implant in. Sometimes happens with smaller implants if there is excess skin around the implant that doesn't fill out with the implant volume. It happens most often with women who have behind the muscle implants, above muscle aren't as susceptible to it. And, sometimes happens if you lose more breast tissue after a procedure... :(

Interesting. Thanks so much for sharing that.

I have lots of info on double bubble... I was afraid I had it for a little while, because I was seeing what looked like a second crease about 2 fingers up from the bottom of my breast. Turns out that the muscles were still really tight there so the implant hadn't dropped all the way yet. The natural tissue was hanging a little lower, making a noticeable demarcation line between the breast and the implant. Panic set in for a little while.... The muscle has 'let go' of the implant now, so no problems. :)

I saw a show where they did implants over the muscle and the girl wound up with one boob that looked like a banana, and the other looked like a snowman...

It was totally tragic...she was really young and wanted big boobs, but got a Chiquita and a Frosty instead. The after shots were awful but I was LMAO, so I got DH to watch the end, and HE was LHAO too. And the surgeon was saying -- well, I think a revision may be in order, and I'M saying YA No SH!T Sherlock...
