Living Maintenance - Adventures with Mom - 40th Birthday Visit

Had a wonderful visit with mom! Here are some pics from our adventures. I am amused - all the threads I have read about "how does a naturally thin person eat" - well, check some of these pics out. My dainty, 5'4" 110 lb mother threw down at every meal. Her slender size has always been a mystery to me because she really does eat a LOT.

Funny family story:

Mom goes to the dentist, the dentist says she has the tiniest mouth he's ever worked in. Mom goes to the gastrointerologist - he says she has the biggest stomach he's ever seen - just like a Christmas stocking.

I overindulged this weekend, but I am back on track today! Salad and healthy vegetable soup for dinner :)

I think about your mom a lot, actually, from your ' naturally thin person' posts about her. I find myself looking at her and at my mom - your mom looks so healthy, and obviously enjoys living, and actually eats. My mom is also naturally thin, but thinks she is fat so always tries to make herself thinner. She often looks somewhat unhealthy, and doesn't eat much of anything. Interesting to look at the two of them - they are almost the same height and close to the same age.

I'm so glad you guys had a good weekend! Great way to spend the weekend of your 40th!

Glory, what happened with the house ?

We ended up not getting the house - the seller decided not to sell the house at all. We have put in two other offers on other houses and haven't been accepted. We're still looking!!

You both look fantastic, and it looks like it was such a fun birthday! No way you're 40.

GREAT pictures, Glory! You look A LOT like a friend of mine... who happens to be 31! :) Your mom looks great, too -- I LOVE her red hair. Glad you had such fun! :D

As for the enigma of those "naturally thin" people who DO eat a lot... eeh, I have a couple friends who fall into that category. I KNOW they eat LOTS of food ALL the time, yet if I ate like them I'd be huge... heh, all I can do is chalk it up to them being ectomorphs. ;)
